fight coming up what’s the actual date
okay it’s April 20th it’s uh Devin Haney
versus Ryan Garcia and the and the
ultimate rubber match um it was 33 as
amateurs and now it’s game 7 it’s the
one that counts and we’re looking
forward to it it’s been a lot of lot of
going back and forth but uh April 20th
uh it will be decided uh it’s 420 it’s
all smoke C
woo smoke so we know it’s in New York
but Ryan’s been teasing that it may not
be in New York is it definitely going to
be in New York 100% cuz I know he was
talking about man any [ __ ] trying to
get big in the game you will you do not
say that it’s not going to be in New
York if everybody’s saying it’s going to
be in New York okay yeah the one thing
about California [ __ ] especially me in
particular I know that you can be big in
California but until you did it in New
York you ain’t did it Joo so um you know
we come into the City and Brooklyn in
particular we fought in Madison Square
Garden but it’s it’s a pleasure to be at
the Barclays and uh we’re looking
forward to it and Ryan you can’t get
out no you nowhere to go you locked in I
think it’s been like 10,000 T um seats
sold um you know so to back out on on
10,000 New Yorkers right it would be uh
suicide career suicide right yeah well
the one thing guys murder I’m sorry yeah

each other and you was telling me how

how you took Devon around the country to
fight everywhere not just in one
particular spot I remember this
conversation what was your thought
process behind that saying you’re not
just going to fight in Oakland we’re
going to fight around the country to see
where we’re at with our skill wiv as he
was coming up absolutely well my thing
my whole theory in that was that I
wanted him to know that every man puts
on them P their pants one leg at a time
it’s no hood nowhere that’s different
that makes nobody different Allah has
always given us all certain gifts and
it’s about your talent and how hard you
work right you know so we was pulling up
on them you know what I mean we went to
we went to Baltimore of course in that
legendary sparring with uh tank Davis
when he was 14 at the Upton gym right we
knocked on Shakur Stevenson’s door in
Newark um you know for that work over
there went to to Brooklyn um down there
with Richard hitchinson and and uh uh uh
shushu and Zab Judah and them you know
what I mean and of course Billy JS
legendary Billy JS a trainer and Coach
to Hector kamacho yes you know one heck
of a man you know he’s so Uncle killer
yeah
yeah I told you it’s
CRA we don’t know everything about
each so I’m glad I’m glad it’s true you
know this kid right here boy I’m this
from coming from the graphic
design about capping but one thing yeah
but one thing that uh coach Billy always
said that stuck with me and I don’t know
if it’s a New York York way or whatever
he said it’s not how much you can give
it’s how much you can take on that given
night you know what I mean so um you got
to be really built for this game both um
inside and outside the ring so back to
Ryan Garcia I think that he’s using as
much uh you know um uh mental Warfare um
as he can and I hope that it’s not
distracting him yeah you know what I
mean as much as it’s irritating them out
of us you know what I’m saying and I I
can say okay if that’s what you’re
trying to do listen you irritated the
fans you didn’t irritated the you know
the promoters so I would be lying if I
said he ain’t irritated us so you know
what I mean whatever he’s doing is
working but on that particular night I
know the Devon will be focused uh for
you know to make any adjustment that uh
Ryan brings to the game but I was
thinking about it and we talked about it
last week briefly it’s the perfect
melting pot you know cuz Spanish people
going to come buy tickets the black
people come buy tickets I think you’re
going to sell I think the numbers are
going to be really good good in New York
City absolutely but it’s it’s just a
megaphone that’s in New York if you if
you ever and and I’m all for bringing
boxing back um to to the city of New
York because if you’re talking about
fight week or the week before the fight
and you can actually get out and and
promote and uh invite what I call invite
the world to the event and one kid can
go this way and another kid can go that
way Oscar goes to the Latin Market of
course I do as much as I can you know
and it’s just a great team and a great
for us to introduce this fight to the
world and the best place to do it is in
the media Capital New York gotcha that’s
good I want to ask you a question you
said you said Devin was 14 in that tape
right yeah no okay he was he was 16 and
the one with that we saw with tank and
Devin um I put in slow-mo and it wasn’t
all that we saw you know so let’s be
clear real quick before ma asks this
question ma is about to ask a question
about some footage that just got leaked
with um just for our audience um with
some footage that just got leaked
between tank and Devin where it looks
like tank is getting the best of Devon
so mes I just want everybody to
understand how old was how old was was
tank tank was cuz I figured tank is like
four years older than Devon so he might
have been 20 and Devon was 16 at
different times maybe he was 21 you know
had he had any like professional fights
that Deon had had not had any
professional fights but tank was was a
pro and Deon had sparred him before that
when he was 14 and in the Upton gym
where I took him before the world knew
who tank was of course I knew who he was
as being a standout amateur and just a
bad motor scooter you know and um so we
didn’t just go knock on just regular
Smugglers doors you know what I’m saying
we knocked on the guys that was putting
in the work you know and um Ryan was one
of them we went to Victorville um you
know for him as well so um to answer
your question yeah he was uh a pro and
Deon was just U just finishing up with
amateur boxing we had won all the youth
tournaments and all that at 17 and 18
but he was too young to go to the
Olympics so instead of us going to the
Olympics we decided to turn turn pro and
we spent maybe 16 to 17 around that time
um just perfecting a pro style and and
making the transition from the amateur
style so so hypothetically we don’t know
who put the tape out there but who do
you think put the tape out there well I
mean
hypothetically I mean if we’re saying
hypothetically you know cuz it was only
his gym you know the guy you know that
could have hypothetically put it out you
know um because it was no it was
actually uh Floyd Mayweather’s gym and I
respected Devon at that time being 16
years old um that he could only take you
he told he made the announcement like he
does before anything is that everybody
put their phones up and um so if it
would have been anybody filming um a 16
year old and a 20y old it would have
been disrespect to him because it was
his house and um but it was cool it was
dog it was dogghouse rules you know what
I mean um you know that tradition where
they start beating on the the uh the
ropes and all that stuff everything that
everybody saw you know what I mean um me
and the about billions team uh put some
money on on on it you know um Adrien
Broner’s dad and one of the other
coaches Levi we bet on it you know just
to uh cuz it was it was so tense in the
air you know and um and I believe in my
son and I’m sure they believed in
javante so we put some money on that who
was going to stop first I said said my
guy ain’t my kid ain’t we have been
everywhere if he was going to stop then
you know what I mean it would be yeah
what it was so um I think what you guys
saw and and I think with content
creators and anyone to spend in this
business it was eight it was like a
javante Davis highlight film you know
what I mean of eight or nine different
Transitions and clips all jumbled in and
I said okay well if you if you are what
I think you are the former face of
boxing yeah you definitely need a
highlight film to get back on here for
why people say that you ducking while a
guy come on here suited and booted and
say he’s a
Bama and your team cuz y’all playing
with the People by pissing on the head
and telling them it’s raining they y’all
SP de got all the belt
he got people we got fans but you
continue to say that this matchup is not
something that we’re going to do for
boxing well I’m here on it is what it is
with Cam and mace applying pressure yeah
lames
so outside of that what’s going on with
you and Floyd besides besides that
what’s the tension between y’all this
last month or two that I know about well
I mean it’s I don’t think that it’s any
tension okay I think like it is it is
what it is and it’s about time
that someone tells the truth on honestly
what it is right what is it it’s
over take the L out of love it’s over
brother like he said is it not over
hypothetically it’s time you know what I
mean to knock it off it’s the Devon
Haney era you know what I mean and the
way that you’re what you’re saying is
not the C Bill I’m sorry just so we’re
clear you’re saying Floyd stop it’s over
knock it off it’s a dub that’s what
you’re saying basically you had your
time you still poking yourse in other
people’s business let us do what we
doing and and go over here and do what

hypothetically that it was brought to me
that I could possibly be considered
hypothetically that’s why you got this

can’t speak this way is

let’s talk about what really did happen
that I heard that Floyd and Devin spot
is that real yes is that no hypothetical
no hypothetical and I mean um normally
traditionally when Floyd does spar
anyone and I and I and I do want to say
I’m I’m thankful for the opportunity for
Devin to spar him and when they spared
it could have went both ways Devon could
have gained a lot of confidence that he
did by pitching the shut out 60 or
pitching a shut out 60 six rounds
hypothetical no hypothetical not no
hypothetical Bill all you know people
people look to me to tell the truth Bill
well it is what it is and the thing
about it no it is what it is for real
and the thing what about it is if
there’s somebody then invite them to sit
and right there I’ve been saying this
for years you see what I mean you you
prefer Lenard Elby be sitting right
there while you saying this he won’t do
it can’t do it you see what I mean
because one thing that you can’t that
that’s it’s platforms like this with
Brothers like you that we can come out
and speak the truth we can come out and
invite the guy to sit here right before

platforms like this the promotion was
being controlled by what we call now old
media and the narratives that was
created and we weren’t able to like you
guys you guys weren’t able to get
necessarily that write up in this
particular publication when your album
was coming out that someone else would
get see so now I can pull up man dig

um that was definitely that was
definitely a um um a pivotal point in
Devon’s career and my way of looking at
Devon because I had never seen no one do
Floyd like that right wait wait wait

not like we never heard of nothing
like okay so okay so they’re they’re
sparring right and of course I’m in the
corner with Dev and I’m telling Floyd I
said Floyd it’s like you in a looking in
a mirror everything that you’re doing he
can see it he’s doing he’s reacting to
it in a way that he studied this for so
long that he can see it coming and if
you ask Devon Devon says it was like it
was like um like a Deja Vu or like a
crazy experience that Floyd couldn’t do
nothing to him you know what I mean and
um I think after the sixth round Floyd
dropped and he rolled out the ring and
you know he gave he dapped him up we got
a picture infamous picture of them two
together um and and then that was it he
never did happen before he started like
working with him no that was before that
was that was uh right before the Conor
McGregor fight you see what I mean so I
think that that’s what that’s was a a
solidification to F Floyd or it
solidified that um the torch had been
passed and rightfully so I was thankful
that it was my son and that um you know
that they didn’t do round seven or eight
right gotta I don’t think Floyd would
admit that though do you think Floyd
would say pass looking at you cu no
because this is we I love listen it’s
not up for we’re taking the if you don’t
pass this [ __ ] we will take it
Floyd can get in there and and he can
get in there right after tank tank can
get in there first or Floyd or anybody
that he got I don’t if he you know I
don’t know he got a lot of money he go
buy and go find it somewhere find
somebody so basically if you don’t pass
it you taking it that’s
ours pass it to you that’s why we never
that’s why we never hooked up we never
borrowed nothing we never got no gloves
we never went to the party we never been
to nobody’s brunch we never did lunch we
never did none of that right it was all
business with everybody if you want to
do business you knew all the while you
was coming for that spot absolutely it’s
only one spot for Devon and that’s and
that’s on the Mount Rushmore boxing not
just one world title I mean we’ve done
Undisputed we’ve done what no one
fighter has done in history is to go
over across the pond become Undisputed
come back defend Undisputed and then
come back and fight uh pound-for-pound
fighter and and lomachenko so what do
what do you say to people that’s got a
glimpse of that one little glimpse of of
um javante and tank I mean javante and
Devin Sparr and they said well if he if
that happen [ __ ] was moving fast all
you got to do is go on my Instagram Bill
Haney and you gonna see it slowed down
and it ain’t nothing it ain’t nothing a
good point that you brought up though is
that uh this is in that footage and like
I said I’m not jumping in you guys’
business you know for you y’all guys
been doing this since pre-teens it’s a
grown man against a kid still a
professional against an amateur because
if if Devon 16 but that ain’t the rules
that wasn’t the rules when we signed up
and we put the money the rules was it
was dogghouse rules you go till you stop
and that’s it the fighter got to quit or
the or the team got to jump in and stop
it right AB jumped out on on some goofy
time one thing I can say about AB is is
you didn’t see him on TV but you don’t
know goofy until you actually experience
goofy you call her AB
goofy I just said when you haven’t
experienced goofy until you didn’t
experience Goofy from Ab
personally is going to be living over
there give me an example mean live it
I’m saying this but have he he probably
ain’t did no goofy [ __ ] to you so he
would be up he would be upset if you

jumps in the ring talking about he’s
saving us and you betting against us I

out of the hit the ring they stopped it
though see so Davis looking at him on
the thing right we want our money no Dev
is looking at him like what is you doing
and then they stopped the clip cuz you
know Eddie they stopped the clip and
then they click back to some other [ __ ]
so the one punch you see the first punch
where you see him hit that was when I
got out the ring and they said okay
y’all start back so they used the start
back shot as the first jab Gotcha Man
[ __ ] playing games mean some mean
editing basically mean no
listen when got when you got a minute
and 40 when you got a minute and 40 and
you’re a content creator and you doing
anything like that any clip to have any
credibility you can’t have a minute and
40 with eight different clips and then

than a highlight film and I respect that

a look at the highl life film let’s slow
it down and see how much damage the

Dana White came into boxing do you think
he would make it better
um I mean he would definitely bring more
structure to it but I mean I don’t know
if he’s coming with those pay cuts cuz

that with organization and structure
boxers should shouldn’t be getting as
much as they’re getting and I could be
wrong about that because I don’t want to
say that about Dana because I got a lot
of respect for what he’s done in the UFC
so I know that he could bring uh
organization I know that he can bring
venues and Arenas but um where he thinks
that Fighters might be getting paid more
than they should might be up for debate
with me and him gotcha because you know
I think that there this is a sport that
men like one night is a bad night and
you see all the fighters of of yesterday
year with um the CTE and all these
things so this ain’t nothing to play
with man I mean I think that those kids
um those young men I should say they
deserve everything that they’re getting
the ring absolutely yeah let me ask the
questions just to take it off of Devin
for for a second if if you if there was
a fight between tank and Shakur who wins
and why um based on that last
performance like you know what I’m
saying cam has said is that um I would
have to lean towards tank in that fight
you know um and you’re kind of as good
as your last performance um so yeah I
would probably lean more towards towards
tank in that in that fight and before
that fight who you who you I had it I
had it more closer but then I probably
still went with um with tank because of
the things I know about Shakur I know a
lot about both of them from being in the
ring with him and and styles make fights
I don’t think that
um tank will have any kind of respect
for um Shakur and by Shakur style that
Shakur has he’s set right there he half
step back maybe you know I mean he’s
still right there I think with tank not
having the respect for Dev Dev still
having the feet to not respect him yeah

that he did and he’s giving you a shot
then come in the first round and finish
in the 12th round and to me everything
that’s in the middle is a whole lot of
drama but I for surely believe that the
way Devin started he was able to finish
same thing from round one to round 12
basic round one to round 12 you know
what I’m saying and it’s the same way
with um with the spawn
or you know what I mean it’s the same
thing like okay I give you an example is
the fight is is is Dev is getting off on
him and then LMA makes that late surge
where LMA is saying is where Dev said is
okay he didn’t caught on to what we
doing right now I’m saying good because
now if he thinks that you’re doing that
then counter that make him think that
okay that’s is now we got to counter for
that right so
so with everyone not understanding right
because when you in front of when you
when I’m sitting dead in front of you
just like this you got 50% of chance
that you’re going to do 50 over here but
if I stand over here and I take this
angle from right here it’s only that

lomachenko’s case because it’s a great
team in the lomachenko team Papa Chinko
they had prepared for Devon’s jab
because he having the best jab and they
want to come over the top of the jab so

able to do what they didn’t they don’t
think that you’re going to come and and
do so they never prepared for that Deon
work to body work for him to throw the
brick for him not to use his jab because
they said all you going to do is jab

Devon at that age to stand in front of
the ring in the middle center of the
ring with the Great vasil lomachenko and
start in the center and then finish it’s
like this when I was young now not

look up in the riview mirror and it’s
smaller and smaller and smaller and
that’s what lomachenko did he was on us
and the 12th round we looked up in the
rearview mirror and he was
gone from Bill Bill we inviting Bill
