Learn to give yourself time at the top of the backswing with the Swing Wave, as taught by Whispering Pines’ Director of Golf, Chris Rowe.
go ahe all right today’s golf lesson
this is called the swing wave I got this
like probably 25 years ago at Colonial
when I was working there and uh believe
it was Mark Russell with the PJ tour
came in gave this to me and said this
would be a good teaching a and the idea
is is there’s water in the bottom of
this now I fill it all the way to the
top and it could be a heavy Club to just
work on your swing but here’s the way
we’re going to use it today so here’s
the water I don’t know if you can see it
but it starts right here so all of this
here is complete empty so the idea is is
when we get to the top of the Swing on
our down swing the water would drop this
way okay so what we should
feel if I back up here the water’s all
down at the bottom right now I take it
up the
top the water dropped as soon as the
water drops the club drops so let’s do
that again
up I heard the
Swish and then I get to swing through so
it gives you a little bit of a a break
at the top of the swing a little bit of
a pause there it is Boom water fell then
that allows me to go what most people I
see do is they get up here at the top
they don’t let the water drop and then
they’re already throwing it this way or
throwing it that way you have to allow
the back swing to load and then make
your move so if we take that
analogy now we’re going to put it with a
club address a ball what you should feel
whe is up wait for the
swoosh then work down and that’s a
really good example of just a practice
move or practice routine sometimes you
see guys on tour going
up holding it like that Chandler
Phillips who’s uh actually in the lead
Tex’s A&M guy he kind of makes one of
these little practice moves just to
check it so let’s take a look here we’re
going to hear the Swoosh
and when you wait for the water to fall
the golf shots to work out pretty well

This dude didn’t wait an instant before the actual down swing. I get the idea but man what a horrible demonstration.
I agree but i think the point is to train your swing to be patient during your back swing so is a smoother transition. Not necessarily waiting too long but the transition from back swing to forward swing isn't jerky.
You didn’t wait at the top🤔
