Hey everybody we are going to breakdown Tiger Wood’s new golf swing. The media has said that Tigers has gotten back to his basics from when he came on tour her back in 1996. So this is a good opportunity for us to use and breakdown Tiger’s golf swing for our week #5 review video on the takeaway and the backswing.
But before we start we’re going to review the grip and posture that we should have before we hit any golf ball. It’s the same positions that Tiger Woods uses for his golf swing. With the grip we grip the club with our left hand at the base of our fingers and place the thumb of the left hand at a about a 1 o’clock position on the club handle. We grip the club with the right hand underneath the club in the base of our fingers then we close our right hand and have a very strong grip. In the grip video of Tiger Wood’s golf swing we say him positioning to get in these positions. Then we turn our wrist to the left where the V of our right hand are pointing toward the right shoulder. This puts us in a neutral golf grip. At this point our clubhead is closed, but we square the club face by putting the club head on the ground and tilting the shaft forward when we do this we actually square the club face to the ball.
Now as we look at Tiger Woods new golf swing from behind on the backswing he becomes off the ball by not breaking the 144 ° from shaft set up. In this review we want to see the angle at address, which is about 144°, not to be broken as we come off the ball. When we take the club back we want to keep the angle between the forms and the club shaft at 144° until the club reaches parallel on the backswing on our target line. So the clubhead stays outside the hands until the club shaft reaches parallel on the backswing on your target line the hand in the club head do not form a straight line until position happens in the backswing. In Tigers golf swing backswing it looks like he takes the club back to the outside, but in reality he doesn’t he’s just trying to keep the club on plane so the club won’t get stuck on the downswing. As we come to the top a Tiger Wood’s new golf swing on the backswing we can see that he has a straight left arm and a flat left wrist and the right elbow that is at about 90° to the ground. From the top of his backswing we can see Tiger Wood’s golf swing ready for power as he begins to now prepare for his downswing and his golf swing.
Now what we’re going to do is fast forward to Tiger Woods golf swing set up. We’ve covered the Takeaway and backswing and when you combine grip posture and the set up we’re going to see how the two second golf swing now becomes very easy to perform. As you can see here from behind Tiger’s set up has just a little more weight on his left leg so he can create that path of the Takeaway when it takes the club back. From the front view we can see tigers set up with his arms hands and shoulders in a triangle with his positioning at his feet ready to take the club back on the one piece Takeaway to get extension in the width box that’s going to create the power in his downswing.
In the background we see John Cook a Senior golfer on the senior PGA tour and when we look at John’s golf swing we will see that he has the same basic grip and posture fundamentals as we all should. As you can see he takes the club back one piece take away Full arm extension so he can create his width box to prepare for his downswing without any extra movement.
So let’s learn from Tiger Woods new golf swing and these two PGA professionals. L yup you workoutet’s know that we can get in the same positions as they can even though we may not get the same results right away with practice and positioning it’s really up to us on how good we can get at this game that we love.
