We could watch Tiger Woods hit wedge shots all. day. long. We asked the 15-time Major winner and Masters champ Fred Couples how they like to hit a 50-yard pitch shot with their Bridgestone golf ball – some absolute gold packed in to just a few minutes.

hi I’m Fred Couples and I’m here with
Bridgestone Golf in PGA TOUR Superstore
we’re going to show you how to hit a 50
yard wed shot I like to play slight draw
for me personally so I’m always aiming
slightly right face slightly open and
again closing it slight light
impact now if I want to hit it exact
opposite shot for a cut I stand closer
to it I’m going to hit a cutter I Want
to Hold It Against the Grain hold
against the hill I stand closer to it
what people don’t realize is I’ll shut
the face down a little
bit the face is open for a draw and the
face is slightly closed for a
[Music]
cut see that little cut spin on the draw
is the draw is going to be slower it’s
should be more
armsy okay is obviously going to go
further but I have wherever I want the
golf ball start out at is where I put
the face so I’m going to start out to
the right my face is going to be open
yes that’s brilliant and then I try and
close it down a little
bit and going to hit my little draw
right that’s outstanding a lot of people
think cuz they they have to hook it they
have to shut the face shut the face down
I don’t like that no it’s hard to
whereever I want the ball start out is
where I have the face would you agree
you’re so good from 120 yards in because
it’s all like it’s all flight related
how high I want to hit it trajectory
spin um this is all feel and this is
millions upon millions of reps if I want
to hit a straight ball high my dad would
say okay hit a you’re teaching a
four-year-old how to hit the ball high
so my dad would say just have a higher
follow through I said okay so same shot
higher follow
[Music]
and I hit it
higher now for a low driving shot which
I I see a like a low driving cut with
the grain holding it with be ball off my
right toe face slightly
shut hold off on
[Music]
it you’re going at that with
aggressively cuz I’m cutting it correct
for people
watching when he says that yeah
technique is huge but when he’s going at
it harder it’s because he’s cutting it
but that doesn’t mean he’s everything’s
tighten up and he’s going at of that
he’s going at from here to
here and then the first swing H this
distance is aggressively
yeah and then hit the high one again
where your dad said it’s a higher follow
through just so they can see this cuz
this is
brilliant now if I want to play like a
big hooking sweeper in there face is way
Way open this is where I stand a little
bit differently I’ll Stand further away
from it I’ll Stand
flatter make my Ark more
round and you see it has a lot of hook
to it now now why would you hit that
shot cuz you’re using the slope I’m
using a slope safe same like we’re we’re
at Augusta and I want to have a a back
pen I get that big huge slope on the
right I’m going to use that to feed it
down there the slope is going to stop it
so this is a perfect play perfectly well

An enjoyable video but very little that's of use to your average chop. Cuts and draws from 50 yards? Uhhhhh, no.
I go through moments where I imagine that with some training I could play professionally but sometimes I don't realize just how hard it is to play golf at this level…
Even more amazing is he can hit those shots with the music playing!
Good Lord….magic.
Woods may be a wizard from 50 yards…but he's still an asshole regardless of the distance.
Like child's play for Tiger, plenty of reps.
brilliant, so cool, awesome
Tiger did real good at the masters. He is better at driving drunk, cheating and being a scumbag.
That was too advanced for me by a factor of eleventy million
Oh, it's that easy? Wish I knew this before 😂
Did you see Freddy taking notes? Honestly though, does anyone else notice that Tiger slurs his words lately? Pain killers?
This was very difficult to watch with the unprofessional choppy video and it bounced around a lot. Plus the music isn't necessary and just made it difficult to hear everything they said.
Tbh not great teachers
The GOAT and Freddy, can't get better than that!!! Freddy'a Swing is so is/was so smooth!
Great video, shut the dang music off lol
What a great golfer this man is! But what loft does Tiger use for this 50-yard pitch? 58-60?
And then he shot an 82 at the Masters
what club did they use?
Sometimes a really good player explains what they're about to do and you don't even see the difference in their movements, but with Tiger here you can clearly see how different the mechanics of each of those different swings were and how it impacted the outcome. Unreal
The ball can draw with only 50 yards of carry?
so interesting, Ive always adjusted the face to which way I want the ball to go, tigers the opposite with adjusting the face to where he wants it to start… probably not the only thing opposite about mine and tiger's golf game…
Tiger is soooo good
STUPID MUSIC!
dudes a genius
Incredible video, for my nemesis shot.
Stop the music
Brilliant, Garrett! 🙂
I’ll do that hook left hook shot next time I’m playing Augusta 😳
I do this all day
Fred arrived with a hard on 😱
That guy in the red shirt and black pants is pretty good…
This just changed my life. Wow, this works!!!!
Chubbs teaching after 3 Martini lunch.
Seriously though, great content and demos
Why the music!!!!
Pls get rid of the music
Terrible video for amateurs. A draw from 50 yards. GTFOOH
That's very nice of Tiger to show his caddie how to hit this shot.
