today is like the icing on the cake
today you’re going to learn how to get
some really good action down through the
bottom and be able to transfer all of
that stored up energy through your lever
into the point of contact and get that
really nice looking wide position that
you see so many Tor Pros in after the
point of contact you all know what I’m
talking about and I know a lot of you at
home don’t look like that but you’re
going to today let’s go and get started
now this drill is going to have quite a
few details that go along with it at
first but you’re going to get it boiled
down into one solid program that you can
all start practicing in the Comforts of
your own home first before you start
trying to take this out to the driver
range now remember these drills as I’m
outlining them for you are to be able to
create awareness in sort of an
exaggerated format at first and as you
start to become proficient with the
movements and you get connected to what
you’re feeling then we’re going to tone
back the exaggeration and try to dial it
in so that it’s a perfect movement and
then what your responsibility is in this
process is to be able to go back and
back check things on camera to make sure
that you’re doing them 100% accurately
very important that you use a camera
when you’re working on something that’s
as important as the release when it
comes to your golf swing now I also want
you to understand that the way that I’m
going to teach you this drill is that
yes the wrists are the final system and
your big system of movements here you’ve
heard me talk about the three systems in
the golf swing the body which we talked
about last week then we have your arms
and then we have your wrists now each
part of the system supports one of the
other your body helps support the arms
and your arms help support the wrists
we’re going to start by learning the
wrist functions here first and then
we’re going to start learning what the
body needs to do to help support it as
you start to let the club fly and get
your arms into that extended position
step number one this is where we are
going to start really exaggerating the
suppleness of the wrists so this is a
skill set that a lot of you at home are
afraid to actually develop because you
feel like you want to have control of
the club head I want you to push
yourself for the first part of this
drill and I want you to get as out of
control of it as you can possibly get so
what we’re going to do here is I want
you to go ahead and grab your favorite
eight iron out of your golf bag and I
want you to go ahead and pick it up and
I want you to hold the club lightly in
the back three fingers of your lead hand
so your pinky finger your ring finger
and your middle finger your Trail hand
is going to get on the golf club here as
well but I want those just resting there
as lightly as you can possibly get them
on the golf club and I want you to stand
kind of in a narrow stance like this and
I want you to go ahead and just make
these little small Swings with your arms
but I want you to start getting the club
 head to
 swing vertically
 on both sides of the
body while you make these really small
Swings with your arms you can see the
club is moving a long ways my arms are
moving a very small amount that club
probably looks like it has way too much
Lag Way Too Much cupping of my lead
wrist and is probably rotating and
scooping and flipping down through the
bottom just like you’ve been trained not
to do but that right there is the
building block of this whole whole drill
is being able to understand that your
wrists need to be that relaxed as we
start adding more to the mix here so the
first step is to get a very exaggerated
feeling in your wrist to allow the club
to start to swing freely from one side
of the body to the other with little
small swings from your arms so I want
you to do this for a few minutes before
 we start really dialing this
in so back and forth that movement right
there is a skill set that every single
 playing professional has developed at
some point in their life you at home are
starting that Journey now now and step
number two what we’re going to do is
we’re going to work on adding stability
to that movement we’re going to work on
refining that movement and dialing it in
so it’s perfect but we’re going to do
this with your lead arm and your lead
wrist only and then what we’re going to
do is we’re going to understand that the
arm system is going to be supporting the
wrist as it works its way through the
hitting area your body is going to be
supporting the arm arms you can see how
it all ties together there’s a method to
the madness here right once you start
making sure that you’ve got these dialed
in and you hit the checkpoints as I’m
outlining then what you’re going to want
to do is as you start to add speed to
the mix you’re going to want to slow
down and back check these things on
camera to make sure that your feels are
lined up with what’s really happening
you got it okay good okay so now what
we’re going to do is we’re going to
start getting the functions to help
support the wrists on the way through
we’re going to do this lead arm only now
what I want you to remember is this is
that we’re going to be doing reps from
just in front of our Trail thigh to our
3:00 position so when you hear me say 9
to three it’s chest heght to chest
height now what we’re going to be
focusing in on here is getting your
wrist to be anatomically flat and
pointed directly out in front of you so
if you have a watch or glove logo on
it’s going to be pointed directly back
at home and you’re going to be swinging
your arm through to 3:00 you’re going to
be keeping your arm moving all the way
to this 3:00 position and you’re going
to see that you have a lot of space
underneath your armpit here okay now
when you look over at your 3:00 position
your lead arm should be passively
 straight your wrist should be
anatomically flat and it should be
pointed behind you your job is to be
able to do reps where you have your
wrist anatomically flat right here your
arm is going to swing through freely
just like a lazy grandfather clock here
and you’re going to be able to do this
back and forth this function right here
would be adding a whole lot of support
to the wrist function it would be
balancing out what the wrist would is
trying to do in the swing shape it would
take that rate of closure and slow it
way down it would keep all that flippy
Scoopy activity out of there let me
explain this a little bit further to
you if I’m doing some lead arm only
swings okay and I stop my arm from
moving with my body well then you can
see that my wrist can have these really
big inputs so what we’re doing here is
we’re adding the stability so that those
big inputs go away we don’t want to have
those in there because that’s what can
lead to shots that are flying all over
the golf course so what I want you to be
able to do is I want you to be able to
train this back and forth and I want you
to start visualizing the suppleness of
the wrist that you just worked on in
Step number one so get the arm
 moving all the way to
3:00 think about your arm just swinging
 freely underneath you okay air
 underneath your
armpit make sure your weight’s on your
lead foot your shoulders should be
square those are just little checkpoints
 for you to have
 okay now those
movements are just dialing in what you
learned from the wrist now what we got
to do is we got to bring the Golf Club
back in and we’re going to back check
these on camera to make sure that we’re
doing them right so we’re going to go
ahead and take our setup we’re going to
hold the club lightly in the back three
fingers of our lead hand okay I want to
put my weight on my lead foot open my
hips up a little bit my shoulders are
going to stay nice and square now what
I’m going to do is I’m going to do some
little small swings that my lead arm is
going to swing back underneath me I’m
just going to go ahead and swing over to
3:00 and you can see that the club
wanted to kind of pull my wrist here but
I want you to make sure that your wrist
Works to an anatomically flat position
over here okay so anatomically flat
point it out in front of me swing my arm
through make sure that my wrist is
anatomically flat and point it behind
me out in front of me swing my arm
 through perfect
 [Music]
okay we’re going to do this for a couple
 minutes be
meticulous now what I don’t want to see
is you at home doing reps like this okay
we call that rep stringing okay you want
to be precise with this now when you do
these reps if you back check them on
camera and you notice that hey I’m not
tense the club is swinging freely I’ve
got my lead arm and my lead wrist
working properly over to the lead side
of the body and you know that you didn’t
try to squeeze the golf club on the way
through now you’re ready to start adding
the support from the body to the system
and start really picking up the pace now
when we add the trail side to this whole
equation what I want you to remember
what the trail side was doing from the
throwzone video if you have not yet seen
the throwzone video go watch it and then
come back here I’ll put it up on the
screen now the throw zone is going to be
where you feel like you’re throwing the
club head out here in this neck of the
woods but you’re going to be keeping
your arm moving and keeping the wrist
functions exactly the same now as we
start to go through this part of the
drill I want you to understand that I’m
going to reverse engineer the 3:00
position so that you can feel where your
body is in order to be able to get your
arms to the spot what you’re going to do
from there is you’re going to then scrub
back slowly just outside your Trail
thigh and then work quickly back over to
3:00 and you’re going to do this for 10
to 15 reps or so so as you start to go
through this what you’re going to find
is that you need to warm up with
suppleness of the wrist get really
connected to the lead arm function and
the lead wrist so that it’s dialed in
perfectly and then from there you’re
going to keep those tension levels down
you’re going to keep the arms and the
body working as a system to help support
the wrist and you’re going to think
about the stuff that we’ve done leading
up to this point so here we are step
number three let’s get rock and rolling
so let’s go ahead and take our setup
lead arm only I want you to shift your
hips left open up your hips a little bit
okay bring your right hand onto the club
now from here I want you to keep your
buttons behind your belt buckle and I
want you to get that lead arm extending
 out to
3:00 and both arms should be straight
and extended away from the body you
should feel very long with your arms
your lead wrist should be flat and
pointed behind you the club head should
be well out in front of your body that
position is what we’re going to be
trying to work to get back to so giving
yourself a little Road mapap of where
you’re going to be trying to work to is
a great way for you to be able to
overcome a lot of the faults that you
battle with down here so again let’s
 walk through
that so we’re going to take our setup
lead arm only hips left shoulders nice
and square trail hand back on the
club keep your buttons back behind your
belt buckle get your arm to swing to
3:00 now slowly scrub back outside your
Trail thigh and back to that
spot that’s one rep I want you to do
 this 10 to 15 reps remember you’re
keeping the wrist Supple you’re keeping
your arm moving and you’re getting those
wrist functions just like we outlined in
 Step number
 two so preset the
 body okay slowly scrub
back so notice how the momentum and
inertia pulled my arms but I put my arms
back in that position so I could check
the spot remember you have to be
diligent and disciplined in this process
and you have to know that these
movements are being done correctly put
it back in the spot make sure it’s 100%
accurate okay make sure you’re always
 practicing the correct
way okay so 10 to 15 reps
 again preset
 yourself slowly come
back so you just completed the 10 to 15
reps now it’s time to turn this into a
real golf swing we’re very connected to
the suppleness of the wrists we’re
connected to the wrist functions we’re
connected to the long arm sort of feel
so we’re going to be doing some short
swings to Long swings here again
thinking about the throw Zone if you
want to add that that layer to this but
what you should be able to do now is you
should be able to let the club fly and
not have to worry about getting rid of
your lag at the right time or worry
about how much wrist and form rotation
you need to have in there if you’re
doing this drill properly and you’re
following this protocol you can start
hitting golf shots and you can start
hitting really good solid Tight Ball
flights where you don’t feel like you’re
working hard at all so I’m going to do a
 1:1
ratio okay guys so there you have it
this drill is designed to help you
create awareness of the final system in
your golf swing the wrists get Supple
wrists let the club swing let it do its
job you’ll have a whole lot of speed and
then really dial it in by supporting it
with the proper arm function and the
proper body function and you’re going to
find that impact speed and control
become a whole lot better for you when
it’s time to go out there and play golf
hope you guys have a wonderful day let’s
get out there let’s play some good golf

Working on week 1 and this helps to reinforce it…thanks
Chris ,do you know what, you have absolutely bang on on relax wrist ,to me it is one of the important techniques need to master, took me years to understand this, self taught by the way, but since you came along, great .. will try out. Not seen YouTube golf trainers talk specifically about this, you are the first , the key to effortless swing, lots to talk about it but this is the best to me, kind of aha thingy
