haters haters of the deal haters of the
deal yeah but who do they matter they
don’t no absolutely they’ll learn to
live it to whatever it is but to your

jacket loading contract and then I refer
defer to you because the news came out
after we were done the show how does
that money situation uh fill out is is
it more of a you know something that
they that you talked about yesterday
what they did with alar R Brown with
that less less a deal to lock the guys
up bottom line when I saw this is these
are the guys that built this these are
the guys that they’re riding with I saw
an interview with Rod Wood that said you
have to draft you know we’re going to
draft our guys and then you have to
resign your guys and these are the the
guys the all Pros the pro bowlers that
you’re going to sign are going to lead
you forward and they’ve proven that and
they’ve earned it have they not earned
these contracts no I yeah if you’re 100%
I mean it’s like like why is everybody
surprised it was a
no-brainer sorry dmac Devin the Dog in
the wber Sports Chat send all the
Packers and Chicago fans to the east
side for spin the block purposes we’re
we’re going to butt heads about that
East Side West I we we are we’re going
to get there though um rack people who
hate the deal don’t know how to read the
deal is fair Team friendly exactly I
will get into that and advise you all if
you if you follow me on Twitter you know
this already because we discussed it on
Twitter yesterday but we’ll tackle the P
thing first uh Su 6 years $135 million
total remember though that includes the
rookie extension four years $112 million
of new money on there 43 million
guaranteed at sign another 20 million by
March of 2025 so essentially $63 million
here’s the line though everybody
remember when I talked about this
yesterday and said when you see these
Mega number deals you that’s what the
agent puts out there because in reality
that is what the contract is that is not
what’s guaranteed that’s not probably
what the team’s going to pay out void
years all that kind of stuff here’s the
here’s the money line here for pan Su
it’s four years $87 million of practical
money and then the cap hits down there
are at the bottom so if you look at it
the pan deal in my opinion is a steal
it’s a steal and I think that I I don’t
know how much that is like the Lions
quote getting over or anything like that
I think it was a very and again I don’t
know this I’m just guess it I’m going by
what these numbers tell me and what
those numbers tell me is that pan left a
couple bucks on the table and that pan
and the lions got in a room and pan said
hey let’s get this done I want to keep
this train rolling this will be my kind
of contribution to keep this train
rolling in a way we go because that
structure there that you see in terms of
the cap hits that are down there that is
very friendly there’s one year I guess
of quote pain or whatever with the 2027
but that can be refinanced like I I know
the buzzword is like restructure but
that can be re it’s a refinance like
let’s let’s call it what it is so you
know they can restructure they can drop
that number that is Mega Team friendly
Pan’s got his 6 million guaranteed
across the board by 2025 let’s go all
you tell when you tell me it’s team team
you know it favors the team that means
that the salary cap is still intact to
all the other moves that they have to
make and stuff like this and you
got who who else you going to give these
contracts to right and these guys earned
it I mean and and I love the fact of how
Detroit did it in front of the world the
day before the draft in Detroit yeah do
you think there’s anything to that NE
dropping the deals one day before the
draft yeah it’s it’s it’s dropping my
nuts on your chin and saying here it is
we’re here this is just Dan Campbell
this is this is the extension of biting
your kneecaps off but doing it in the um
I guess in the real world in the
business world this is the business
kneecap biting yes no it is and and
everything was done intentionally
certainly it was done intentionally I
think it was driven to a point to
maximize your notoriety to maximize your
news space PR
if if you would this will maximize your
PR the day before the draft when the
media’s here in town anyway see see the
yeah that’s taking advantage of the
situation where all the media is in town
anyway you can directly get it out to
the shefter or notice how shefer had
this one first I’m I’m sure they walk
they walked it over to you see what I’m
saying like this is this is an organiz
guys is a different organization now and
I’m glad you brought that up dmac
because it illustrates the point PR

financially Savvy this is a new day man
it continues to be a new day this isn’t
the same clown show that it was before
it just it’s just not guys so that’s
that’s really where you can look at it
and and somebody brought this up in the

came out uh over the cap basically shows
Alliance key got a both the deals yes
that was the thing that really stuck out
to me Tony there is very much a lot of
quote unquote injury protection for the
lions with Pan’s deal they could
essentially get out of it after the 2027
season for 13 million in dead cap and
that’s it so you tell me is that not
Team friendly 100% that’s Team friendly
that’s about the that’s about the mo and
that’s where I say pan maybe left a
couple bucks on the table but he wants
to keep the train rolling he got his
dmac on yes yes yes he did he did an old

tell explain your negotiations for for
your for your big deal that you got how
did that work I’m I’m always going to
make a 100 Grand more than what Malon
drapes were just because I had to put up
with their BS on the ice so we were all
are you holding out for an extra $4
million wait what I had that option no
no no the I believe your words get it
done I’ll see you later get it done and
let me know where to show up and you
know what I I need that that other ring
you know championships this is you
know go L like when we use the analogy
and I use the analogy about when the
player next to you the guy next to you
is more important to you than you are to
yourself This is along the lines when
you’re doing your contract too when you
do a team he’s still getting paid right
there’s still that guarantee there if
you’re pen Su Neil you put put yourself
in Penny Su shoes right you know you
were a gold jacket you know you are that
good you you pride yourself as being if
not now the best right tackle let alone
probably eventually going to move to
left tackle and be dominant of that
position too right you got your
guarantee you’re happy right let’s move
this forward he is a definite leader of
this team they both are and if they’re
going to win a championship they going
to be a huge reason for it we know this
the only thing that I care about and I
ask you and you tell me it’s all good
and gravy is does it affect anything
else for us moving forward and you say
no no so this is business as usual and
this is their plan of attack that
they’ve had it goes back to not just
last year because they’re successful
goes back to when Dan Campbell was hired
in 2020 uh 2021 and the fact of how they
did it through the mud through believing
in themselves and these are they said we
built it through the draft through our
guide now this we’re seeing it cuz we’re
resigning our own guys maybe it’s the
people that don’t like it it’s cuz it’s
new to us here isn’t it that’s what it
it would appear
100% no absolutely absolutely 100% so
you know and it’s still a situation with
these deals on the books the Lions last
year now this is without golf on board
obviously which we will get to in a
minute everybody don’t you worry because
I like to pull the curtain back in this
industry sometimes and I got to I got to
take uh I got to take exception with how
some of this was handled yesterday okay
um I do but uh right now the the Lions
sit with the third most cap space next
year at 132.5 million that’s without a
quarterback sign though so remember that
so even put 50 on there or whatever yeah
take 50 out of that still sitting there
at 83 so they are in very very good
shape the time is now they are ready to
go show me those numbers right in the
next two years it tells me this is our
Super Bowl window right 8 million 9
million stuff like that that’s what
other teams do we look at other teams
how can they sign their guys like this
we always used to say now we’re in
living in that that tells me the real I
sent out a tweet about that yesterday
man like this was another example right
another example of and I’m start it’s
starting to wash over me right now you
know like I got that Amon I didn’t get
77 million yesterday but you know I’m
feeling pretty good today um and Elgato

never like this never never where
they’re building it where they all know
together that they’re a part of it and
they have to give it like with like the
value that he got too he still was the
highest guaranteed paid offensive linan
so that was tells me that like so guys
like that who are will be more Team
friendly it’s about the guarantee right
so so so it’s about the guarantee and
maybe the caveats and whatever go along
with it so the bottom line is he’s happy
right he’s happy he’s set he G to eat
right what else do you want out of that
guy right he you if you do not think pen
is going through this summer with his
new contract and pissed that whoever got
that sack on him last year like do you
not it think he’s built that way 100% I
mean do you not like I would just go
back to the camera shot of him in the
tunnel at San Francisco before the game
that’s all you need to know and here’s
the thing you just paid these two guys
and committed these two guys are
committed back to you that you give them
the money it will make them work harder

on Ross St Brown’s deal all right let’s
take a look at that one we got that one
up spend um I can grab it you can grab
it real quick yeah cuz I just wanted
people to get the feel for it because
cuz again it’s not 4 at 120 mhm I know
it’s 4 at you see we got to get
comfortable with this too because the
amanra St Brown deal dmac and I know the
Lions have done this in the p in the
past like the new regime has like with
the renegotiations and stuff like that
but here’s the other angle I was going
to drive at last segment dmac where it
fires me up about it because my team the
Detroit Lions were able to do that thing
that we see other teams do all the time
and go man the Cap’s not real yeah even
though it is ask Buffalo but anyway the
lion signed a huge deal that reset the
market that made Aman rth St Brown the
highest guaranteed wide receiver in NFL
history and they were able to tap a void
year on the end of it like all those
other teams get to do we get to do that
now as lions fans and it’s unbelievable
Aman ra four years 120 million of new
money 345 guaranteed they tack on the
void year on the for cap purposes and
what a void year is for those that don’t
know it’s basically a dummy year on a
contract where you take money and you
add it on on the last year he’s
essentially he’s he’s a free agent
before that but the money goes on the
following Year’s cap you’re charging it
you’re putting it on the credit card
yeah it’s an AMX card though you’re
going to pay the entire balance at the
end of that year but that’s the way that
it works uh only you know one real heavy
year of of heavy lifting in 2028 he’ll
be a $41 million cap hit but here’s the
number guys again here’s what it really
is four years 87 million of practical
money that’s basically what the Lions
will quote unquote be on the hook for
beautiful so you know again he’s getting
he’s getting that money guaranteed at
the there’s going to be you know option
bonuses and things like that that kick
in where he’s going to get a 77 it’s 77
million guaranteed am will get that no
matter what so again dmac this is why
yesterday and I don’t like doing those
shows where where the contract breaks
and everyone’s like Neil what’s it
what’s the deal I don’t know no one
knows yet until the paperworks file with
the league we don’t know but that’s
essentially what it is dmac so again
it’s there but they can they can wiggle
there’s room to maneuver that $41
million cap hit number I think in 2028
there’s room to maneuver with that that
can be worked with dmac well it’s still
and uh Thomas uh girtler I hope I
pronounced that correctly I’ve seen you
before he he Nails it too right it’s a
part Su and brown contract set the
precedent you know for the other players
around the league and this is all part
the other players that’ll be Detroit
Lions too well that also does that but
also the bigger contracts around the
league and there’s something about
getting ahead of it instead of re acting
instead of reacting which I like I like
them doing that too there’s something to
that also that they’re following their
game plan and they’re the that’s right
these guys are going to be the the top
paid at their respective position for
for all of like two
months You’ got guys like uh Christian
daraw needs a new contract Slater needs
a new contract um uh wors needs a new
contract and then wide receivers you got
Justin Jefferson T Higgins CD lamb all
these guys that are going to get paid
and what it does show though is it shows
to the players outside of the
organization that Brad Holmes and Dan
Campbell mean what they [ __ ] say when
they say we like our guys we cultivate
our talent will pay our talent two guys
that you drafted cultivated into First
Team all Pros you just drop bags on them
so that’s like okay they actually mean
what they say they’re not going to
[ __ ] us and you know beat around the
bush they’re going to do what they tell

exact number is but it’s roughly 48% to
52% the revenue gets split the the
players get theirs in salary the owners

how we you know how when we do these
shows there’s when we do a draft show
and there’s 70,000 people that watch it
we have an appetite for this guys you
can’t be mad at these players man yeah
like they created this especially
players that have earned it that’s the
key thing Bingo it’s not like we’re
talking about Deshawn Watson right now a
quarter billion guaranteed
man like these dudes are built different
so and and there are guys man so like
that’s that’s it and it goes back to
this amanra St Brown is Detroit he is
Detroit he was under sized he doesn’t
pass the eye test there were what 16
dudes taken in front of him um you know
product of his system all that kind of
stuff doesn’t doesn’t fit the eye right
shows up every day puts the work you
know how I know watch him play yeah
watch him play and for and look on the
Amro St Brown deal I I’ll close it out
down on this the slot receiver crowd out
there you don’t watch football then you
don’t watch football what a slot
receiver about hundreds of catches every
year yeah and double digit touchdowns
and, 1500 yards what a slot receiver I
think was third in the league at 20 plus
yard catches last year what slot
receiver about that you could say you
could say oh they paid a slot receiver
this much money I can say no they paid a
first team All Pro this much and and
slot receiver as brillan Edwards who uh
might know a thing or two playing in the
NFL right being a former High first
round draft choice is the fact that uh
it just means you’re under six foot
that’s all it mean slot receiver is just

down slot receiver just means how tall

for the part where it says quote the two
sides are far apart on a deal or the two
s here’s even the the other one I heard
the two sides quote are not close to a
deal at this time because that’s what I
was told from some of the other entities

possibility ofon hooker playing

traded up to get him because he liked

backup in the fifth round you get a

a guy who’s never taken a snap in the

start looking at how this is playing out

apart based on the length of the

we got we signed a good one for a year
ain’t no May about it but we just let a
big time one go yeah so if I can get the
best one and it fits a need then I’m
definitely going to do you know what I
always back of my mind is you going to
to cap the 29th pick is one of those
quarterback picks isn’t it like if one
of these quarterbacks slides down and it
doesn’t play out in the front of the
draft where somebody is available is
that 29 with the way the salary is and
the fifth year option do you get that at
29 yeah yes so so right which and I’m
bringing that up because because if
that’s not there what Dan Campbell told
you they may trade back to somebody if
if one of these we don’t expect it but
if a quarterback slides through or
something but that’s why I don’t think
they will trade back and out of the
first round um because they want they
value that fifth year a lot especially
giving out these big bags and we were
told you know downtown last night at the
like special Olympics fundraiser that
they were doing with a lot of the draft
picks uh our very own Matthew broer was
speaking to terion Arnold quarterback
out of Alabama arguably the best
quarterback in this draft who had a
meeting with the Detroit Lions top 30
visit and they asked him you know did
the Lions say anything about moving up
in the draft to get you and he smiled
and said that’s classified information
oh so like I’m I’m leaning towards Brad
Holm moving up Brad Holmes moving up to
get a
guy and you know what though Spenny it’s
all how it plays out yeah saying I’m
cool with anything like anything the guy
does it’s the right decision if you if
you look at it though do you think that
there are some influences of Brad Holmes
from the Rams and how they did stuff
yeah 100% you learn now remember like
the Rams didn’t have a first round pick
for like eight years yeah and the reason
I read a story about it like the reason
they did it that way was because they
wanted to stay away from fifth year
options because fifth year options are
expensive especially if you you know if
you pick a guy that’s really really good
fifth year options are
expensive and so you know it’s
interesting that’s why the more the
closer we get to it the more I think
they’re going to move back and get out
of it and they’re going to start running
that play because they have their roster
stacked right now and they’re good
enough at digging deep enough in the
draft to get guys out of the first round
that produce that are good and then they
can just keep it pushing you know what
the beauty
is whatever way it plays out tonight and
whatever the way that it goes you will
hear what game plan what we executed
plan C because A and B were gone and we
had d That’s what you love about this
about these this um the culture of this
regime they’ll tell you what what they
were planning on doing after the fact
when you weighed out like this played
out in front of them so we’ll see how
the fireworks play out but the beauty is
we’ve covered five different options and
and they all could be true and Brad
Holmes or Dan Campbell was on record and
I agree with him saying this is a very
offense heavy draft there’s not there’s
a bunch of great offensive players not
as many great defensive players so I
think the the other needs or or stuff
you want to fill like a guard or a wide
receiver you could get good talent of
those guys in the later rounds but if
you want a good cornerback or a good
Edge rusher got to go get them most of
them are going to be gone in the top 20
yep got to go get them that and that is
true absolutely that is true uh when we

in town Trevor you know um it’s crazy
down here isn’t it wow yeah you can
notice it by the roads and the traffic
and yeah I I drive through downtown
normally um on the way to the office so
obviously we had to take uh some side
streets and freeways around the around
the town center but I can imagine what
it’s going to be like tonight no it is
it’s going to be absolutely crazy um but
again you guys are on a roll right now a
lot of people watching the mat we talked
about like some of the injuries that you
guys took on you know at the beginning
of the season and and I think like we
kind of forgot about guys like Ben
Morris that led dcfc in goals last year
and he kind of stepped into that role to
attack for you guys as you guys got that
3-1 win uh over Oakland so I just think
that we may have forgotten about that
maybe some of the fans have forgotten
about that but I guess when you have
some injuries it’s always good to have
your leading returning goal scorer to
lean on huh yeah absolutely and I mean
you know Ben’s you know grown from last
year was his first year um you know in
in recruiting him he’d come off of um he
was recovering from twoo serious knee
injuries so last year was a was a you
know a first year for him to find his
feet playing on Turf a lot more than
than he had done um and he did great so
yeah it was as you say to have him in
the lineup and have him available to you
know to as he did this week score goals
it’s a big plus for us well I’m not
gonna you know I’m not going to touch on
the fact that yes you’re the sporting
director and stuff like this but
obviously you’ve done a great job in
hiring the head coach with the way that
the guys are playing but what are we are
we a month or six weeks into the season
or being around I’m just interested now
that you’re strictly the sporting
director what what’s different we’ve
talked about it before as far as being
able to separate your time but you know
it’s NFL draft and we’re talking about
all these signings for the for the Lions
and culture and building teams together
have you it’s got to be something like I
I’m interested to know now a month into
this only you know new it’s not a new
role but it’s singularly a new role
right we’re Focus what is what is the
difference because the success on the
field is showing yeah no it’s it’s great
obviously as you say the success on the
feel from has come from us putting the
roster together obviously when we went
into the championship um two years ago
three years ago this season um I said it
would be a three to five year plan to
build the roster uh we’re in year three
um and it would be 3 years before we
could hopefully start competing we we
fast forward a bit and made the playoffs
in our first two years which was
obviously great uh and beating the
number one seed last year in the
playoffs was even better so you know
it’s with year three into building the
the roster I’m still doing that I’m
still trying to strengthen it you know
as you talk about the draft I’m still
looking behind the scenes whether it’s
lone players whether it’s players that
we can bring in to strengthen our roster
so that that takes a majority of my work
up now all right Trevor we talked about
it it’s NFL Draft Day the draft is in
Detroit uh people want to know people
asked here is uh is Mr James a l fan
you’re at all the Detroit sporting
events that’s right yeah I’m I’m a lions
fan yeah I mean it’s um you know I never
really got into and in other stops I’ve
been I never really got into the
football team the American football team
um but uh certainly with lions I’ve been
to games and obviously it’s a coming off
of a great season obviously it’s hard to
not get swept away with what they did
well when you were in LA with the LA
Galaxy when David Beckham was there no
nobody’s a football fan in La Trevor so
don’t you know don’t worry about that
you had to come to a real football town
uh to do that uh but obviously with the
draft uh you guys got a big contribution
uh from Victor bazer uh who was a draft
pick or a homegrown product for the
Chicago Fire of MLS uh you guys worked
out a deal to get him on loan for for
the season from the Chicago Fire now
soccer there’s not in the MLS there’s a
draft but obviously there’s no like the
Premier League and stuff like that there
is not a draft how does the for those
that don’t know for like the NFL draft
fans that that are watching right now
how does the loan process work in soccer
right well it’s it’s an ongoing process
you know through who you’ve tried to
recruit in the start of the Season you
get some of your targets obviously some
you don’t so you keep you keep tabs on
the ones you don’t get and and you you
scour the the division one in our case
scour division one leagues whether it be
MLS or other leagues in the in the world
um and we we’re always scaring for
players that and not getting the playing
time um that we feel they should or they
feel they should another another aspect
is Agents will we have a very good I
have a very very good relationship with
a number of agents who will certainly
let me know if their players are unhappy
where they are um in Victor’s case it it
weren’t so much he was unhappy he was
sort of it played in the second team at
Chicago not quite got to the first team
level but he was in between and a lot of
the second teams in in Major League
Soccer are extensions of theiry now so
they they’re younger 17 18 19 year old
so he he was a little bit older so they
needed you know it was put to them that
he they needed to test him against a
more physical group of players in uh
more of a man’s League uh and uh sold it
that way for him to come and to play and
hopefully get stronger and do well and
uh they’ll benefit in in the long run
then if he does that then he’ll return
they a better player and there it is I’m
going to take this to the streets a
little bit more and I know we got uh
Kenny’s going to take to the streets for
us but um my question is is there’s a
lot of people in town from out of town
who experienced in Detroit for the first
time and they may stumble into ham traic
right do you have a favorite restaurant
or some place downtown that you like to
frequent or you would tell you know uh
somebody coming into town where to go in
ham traic yeah or in where that you
where’s a Trevor Jam where Trevor James
yes exactly well you know one of the our
favorite places with Tiffany is is
Bakersfield um on so that’s one of our B
our go-to if you like um and we live in
Corktown so one of two one of two places
on Michigan Avenue that there where
where do you like there mcshan’s or or
is uh uh Nemos Nemo n Nemos funny enough
OB was taken to Nemo when I when I was
um interviewed for the the position they
recording you at Nemo yeah and they took
me to Nemo for lunch so I had a great um
Cheeseburger um on the on the day that
had had my interview so yeah we you know
we frequent the cown now is it’s
building up and there’s a lot of
opportunity a lot of uh um a lot of
restaurants now that um that we can use
so you know it’s fair local yeah I know
people can wander I mean they’ll be
walking around a lot and the way that
the city set up with all the different
walking you walk into cour down you’ll
find something to eat yeah no absolutely
but Trevor uh as always we do appreciate

day what do you think the Lions should
do should they get a striker a
midfielder backline what should they do
with the first pick in the draft well if
they can get a striker they should go
for it because as we know they’re Gold
Dust so if they can get one early on
then they should go for that so so
you’re best player available then you’re
not necessarily drafting for need you’re
drafting the best Striker available yeah

think chop is great when it comes to
rushing the quarterback but he can’t

back now because I want to be a player
at the trade deadline because I think
the trade deadline in the NFL right now
we’ve gotten a t when Christian mcaffrey
got traded at the deadline it changed
the game for the NFL trade deadline and
we saw it last year there’s a ton of
movement I think this year and in the
future the NFL trade deadline will rival
the hockey trade deadline the baseball
trade deadline the basketball trade
deadline where it becomes like a thing
and it’s it’s going to happen sooner
rather than later it’s already happen
it’s already happened you got to you got
to watch what it is is you got to watch
when it comes up it’s on your calendar
to pay attention to the transactions in
the past it never was until until it
was absolutely never is until it is yeah
no so I I think Spenny in this this
trade deadline and the trade deadlines
going forward I wouldn’t mind building
up a bank of third round
picks because those are the things that
seem to be flipped at the trade deadline
and so if I can use somebody else’s to
do it then I’ll do it and it’s only
going to cost me 15 spots or 16 spots or
things like that then I’ll do it and I
have that in the chamber to go to Market
with at the trade deadline and I can
step in front and even then too right
like if you look at it if you have a
bank a third round picks makes it a lot
easier to cut loose with a second round

are getting something for what they’re
worth finally getting paid you know what
the owners are making I mean it it only
seems right to me so I I never look at
it like I missed out right so um but you
play but you played the wrong sport
though yeah I I wish I played golf that
is true that is true um no we’re seeing
too like the effects right like we don’t
know the future effects of the streaming
packages and the gambling money and all
that kind of stuff so I think by the
time it’s all said and done Caleb
williamss is he’s going to get bumped to
around $30 million which is wild to say
because they changed all this so the
teams didn’t have to pay out these huge
huge money deals but here we are man

all right let me tell you about second
down who is the team that is going to
get better the most better yeah after
this draft uh the Arizona Cardinals I I
I have I have isolated them Spenny as
the next Houston Texans okay and it’s
funny it’s funny because it comes at the
Houston Texans expense you know all the
draft Capital that they have the Arizona
Cardinals have picked four and picked 27
so two first round picks they have
picked 35 in the second round they have
pick 66 in the third round pick 71 in
the third round from Tennessee pick 90
in the third round from Houston pick 104
pick 138 in the fifth round pick 162 in
the fifth round and then a six round
pick and a seventh they have 11 picks in
the draft they have six of them in the
first 90 oh yeah and we see this all the
time guys when you see organizations
they do these Mega deals isn’t it funny
how they always seem to pop up they
always seem to bust out after that I’m
not saying necessarily it’s going to be
next year and yes I’m aware that Kyler
Murray is their quarterback and he’s
locked into a big dollar deal but they
are in a position that possibly in two
years they can get out from under that
and with all that being said dmac hell
the Detroit Lions are an example you can
flip a franchise in an instant it’ll be
interesting with Arizona and I think
just because if you look at it on paper
you just na nail down what they have to
work with but it’s also too is do they
have competence in their organization
now right which is in the past what they
they ran into a lot of things even
though they furthered along and been to
a Super Bowl and had guys but they ran
into a lot of incompetence like the
Lions have have will this help them make
the deal my you’re right Neil I can’t
argue with that but the one that I’m
focused on is Chicago and the only
reason why Chicago cuz they have the
first and the ninth and what are they
going to do with that but they also have
all the money in their s you know in
their Kitty and stuff like this so I’m
more I’m more interested just just to
see if and I’m not I think that they
will improve not as much as Arizona will
but to me they’re the ones that I’m sort
of watching because I believe that they
will be our closest competition with
what they have not only in the draft you
know two picks in the top 10 then the
money that they have available to spend

that but one of those picks is going to
be Caleb Williams and I just don’t think
he’s going to be a separator but but
that but do does that make you you said
does that make him better Caleb Williams
yeah I think makes him better than what
Justin Fields was absolutely you know

was the that’s why Chicago felt in there
but but again it goes to you could be

out there and their whole life their
whole family’s life has like changed

snap of a finger everything is and you
made it yeah you worked your whole life
to get somewhere and you got and you
made it man like that’s that’s a thing
that’s why for me like I always when we
talked about bust yesterday and stuff

like not spenny’s version of the draft
bust all the uh players moms I’m talking
about like to me there are no draft bust
because no matter what no matter how bad
you were you made it man like you made
it to professional sports yeah and that
that can never be taken away from you
and I just I have a soft spot in my
heart for that dmac I do no and how can
you not that’s my favorite part of it

they stand by the phone the whole time
and then you ready to be ready to be a
Chicago Bear I’m ready yeah I know it is

best for me especially when you
capture that initial moment of when
either on the phone or you’re and you
see that genuine emotion and I like the
family’s
reactions I watched one yesterday I

but he got drafted to the Jets and his
whole family are Jets fans and you just
see his dad jump up

saying yeah it is man it’s incredible

the NFL rookie minimum is about
750k it’s only projected to be about 1
million in 2030 there are more than six
or seven rounds starting than ever
before do we realize how important
important those picks are I don’t think
we do still like look at the Kansas City
Chiefs man and you know it’s it’s funny
because like even when we see a trade
now and they’re like I got traded for a
seventh round pick we’re like what I
that’s like nothing look around the
league now it’s not nothing anymore and
the bigger we see these quarterback
dollars go and these wide receivers go
the more important these sixth and
seventh round picks are going to be like
it’s it’s out there everybody it is we
don’t see it cuz we don’t think about it
but the bottom line is these are
valuable man the Kansas City Chiefs
dipped into the sixth and seventh round
to get starters for a Super Bowl
champion to continue a dynasty yeah like
think about that dmac I mean we we poo
poo it we do no no but
that’s look and so here’s the opposite
of that Neil what’s the highest paid
right now like in 2024 the highest paid
player Patrick Mahomes 60 million or
like like what could or say a 50 million
is the top in 3 thou in 203 what is the
highest paid player going to be making
in the NFL 100 million I mean at least
70 right at least 70 and so you look at
the
disparaging and and then when you look
at your guy and
go that’s where he cooks yeah he cooks
later and tal that’s the the most
important decision right because we know
that how he the second and third and
fourth round what he’s proven right so
we’re waiting to see what happens in the
first round ahead of us to see what we
do there but it’s the picks that you
always after it who did he get late who
are the deals of the draft because every
draft he’s had he’s had at least he’s
had more he’s said two or three or four
deals and you can go to dispo two or
three or four times if you want 100
