In episode 38 of Good Morning College Football with Nicholas Ian Allen, we unveil our 2024 preseason Big XII power rankings. The new-look conference has a surprising No. 1 team in our CFB Winning Edge Team Strength Power Rankings: UCF. The Knights, led by Arkansas transfer quarterback KJ Jefferson, rank higher than expected in several categories that carry weight in our calculations. Among the more expected championship contenders are Utah, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State and Arizona, with West Virginia, TCU, Texas Tech and Iowa State likely to be highly competitive. Of course, Coach Prime Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes are a wild card as well. We also discuss transfer news from across the country, including quite a few notes from the Big XII. Plus, reports from the Indiana spring game, Purdue, UCLA, Oregon State, Washington State, Wake Forest, Boston College, and San Jose State. Troy is our team of the day.

Big 12 Power Rankings plus transfer news
and spring practice notes from across
college football after the Stinger
hello and welcome to episode 38 of good
morning college football I am Nicholas
Ian Allen of CFB Winning Edge and campus
to canton.com thank you for joining us
on this Friday morning I don’t know
about you but uh I am ready for the
weekend but before we get to that we’ve
got uh quite a bit to discuss we’ve got
some Big 12 Conference Power Rankings
from our CFB Winning Edge team profiles
which will be available to our C2C
Winning Edge and all 22 tier members at
campus to canton.com in roughly three
weeks got about three weeks to go we’re
going to publish those in the second
week of May uh trying to nail down the
official date but uh somewhere between
the 8th and the 10th is likely to be
when you will see those it’s it’s kind
of difficult to predict if you followed
along with us in the past if you were a
a past member of cfp Winning Edge on
patreon it was always kind of tough to
nail down that official publish date for
the team profiles it it all kind of uh
comes together very quickly at the end
and we try to make those available as
soon as they’re at all useful to our sub
subscriber so uh in those you know early
days uh there there probably will be
some rough edges but um we we do try our
very best to wrap those up uh get them
as as good as they can possibly be uh
and present them to our members as soon
as possible so that uh you can look
through them have them available our
projected depth charts uh for all
134 FBS teams plus uh we’re going to
throw Delaware into the mix as well new
uh FBS team in 2025 but we’ll go ahead
and try to get them available a year
early uh and then projected point
spreads in three different models for
every game uh FBS versus FBF and FCS
opponents as well uh but all of our
ratings and rankings player ratings
coach ratings team performance uh all
that good stuff will be available uh in
early may but uh as we have gone through
and and sort of completed every team in
a particular conference uh we wanted to
walk through our power rankings uh for
that uh individual league and the Big 12
is up for us today but uh before we dig
into that I mentioned uh what you can
get as part of the C2C Winning Edge in
all 22 tier packages at uh campus to
canton.com also with that you would get
access access to our returning
production database something we talk
about a lot here on the show that
includes team pages for all 134 FBS
teams that tell you who’s coming back
who’s not who’s graduated who’s moving
on to the NFL who has transferred out
who is transferred in as long as they uh
were respons you know as long as they
recorded some sort of statistic in the
2023 season those players are listed and
as you know even though there’s not been
a ton of you know just super headline
players entering the transfer portal so
far during this spring window um there
have been a lot of players hundreds uh
at this point so uh we’ve been trying to
keep track of those moves as well as we
possibly can making updates several
times throughout the course of the day
so if you want to uh see how those
transfers impact the uh you know number
of players coming back the level of
production coming back uh do check us
out at campus at those levels and if you
want to try a lower tier um you can
subscribe for as little as $2.99 per
month get access to a wide range of
tools and content uh ADP rankings for
cff C2C deie all kinds of information
there available to all of our
subscribers as well as Discord access
where you can ask questions interact
with other members and uh contributors
and the founders of Campus Canon as well
and finally on that note thank you very
much to those of you who are tuning in
to us live wherever you are doing that
um if you haven’t already we very much
would appreciate uh you giving this
video a like on the campus Canton
YouTube channel as well as subscribing
to that channel helps uh really uh keep
this show going quite honestly but also
uh helps support campus to Canton as a
whole uh and and we really really do
appreciate your support with that now
moving on to our big 12 Power Rankings
and I I tweeted a little bit about this
last week because I I had an indication
on where uh this was going
and I I first of all if if this is your
first time joining us or if this hasn’t
been clear uh any other time that you
might have tuned in to good morning
college football uh you should sort of
be under the assumption that I know
nothing so uh I I have access to you
know all the the sheets that uh we put
together uh for the C2C Winning Edge
tier um usually I am referencing those
sheets my long-term and short-term
memory have just really uh I don’t know
they’re they’re not as good as they once
were and I feel like I know less about
college football every day uh I just
have access to you know some pretty good
information able to collect information
from a variet iy of sources and and put
it into uh the work that we do here and
and the work that we do in our team
sheets um but as of right now just
because there’s so much information uh
going in and out for me every day
whether it’s you know the transfer news
all these spring reports we talk about
uh and just going through you know team
websites and participation charts and
depth charts and and you know the
statistics all that good stuff I I feel
like I’m not really retaining too much
personally uh I haven’t been involved
really in any cff drafts this year that
in the past few years has been sort of
my lifeline as to okay what do I
actually think about some of these
players um and so I haven’t really
developed much as far as a personal
opinion about particular players and and
really about particular teams um but the
big 12 maybe takes that to a whole new
level because uh one uh just there’s so
much changing right uh the the teams
like Arizona Arizona State Colorado Utah
joining the Big 12 really mixing uh
things up also the teams that joined
from the group of five last year UCF
Cincinnati BYU um so uh this is a a much
much different League than it was just
two years ago and uh also seeing how the
numbers shake out as far as our you know
roster strength ratings that’s a big big
S the single biggest piece of the
calculation of our overall Power
Rankings or how are these rosters
constructed based on recruiting uh
information adjusted for experience and
production so each individual player
gets a player rating based on those
three things we add all those player
ratings into the mix to to help us
develop position and unit ratings and
then uh use those develop uh you know
offense and defensive roster strength
ratings combine those to give our
overall roster strength ratings throw
that into the mix with our coach ratings
team
performance and uh that gives us our
overall power rating it has nothing to
do with my opinion it is all just based
on what are the numbers tell us based on
you know how this roster is constructed
how the team performed on the field last
year and how this head coaches teams
have performed in the past so sometimes
gives us some some really really uh
unexpected results and the Big 12 are
definitely um that that’s definitely the
case here and I tweeted about this a
little bit last week long ramble to get
to this point UCF right now is our
highest rated Big 12 team in our CFB
Winning Edge team strength power
rankings now if I were to write what is
my opinion how do I expect these teams
to stack up um just based on what I’ve
seen in the past how well these teams
have played sort of my own personal
understanding of what’s coming back and
what’s not I would not have UCF probably
anywhere near uh number one they would
probably be middle of the pack for me
and I was curious to see how this uh you
know stacked up against some of the
other really really great models
including sort of the the gold standard
right is is sp Plus Connelly uh what he
has now at
ESPN he’s got UCF in the back half of
the Big 12 and again that’s not his
opinion that’s just sort of the way that
he uh you know has developed his own
system we do things similar in some ways
we do things very different uh in some
ways and and this obviously gave us two
very different results because right now
UCF is a top 25 team in our power
rankings uh number one in the Big 12
obviously in Sp plus and this is uh the
most recent uh rankings I saw were were
dated February 14th so if I’ve missed
some sort of update my apologies but uh
UCF in that rating was uh
59th um they were 10th in the Big 12 uh
Utah Kansas State Arizona and Oklahoma
State were all top 20 teams in that SP
plus ranking um no teams are in our big
12 top or excuse me no teams are in in
our overall top 20 right now in our our
team strength rankings UCF right now is
21st they lead the pack um and it’s a
it’s a bit of a surprise uh UCF is a
team that we were too high on last year
so I was worried that you know that that
might be the case again because like I
said we build those individual player
ratings based on uh experience and
production in addition to those
recruiting ratings coming out of high
school a team like you F which really
does lean on a large percentage of uh
transfers uh a lot of those players who
have either you know been highly
recruited coming out of high school and
then end up at UCF after things maybe
didn’t work out somewhere else or they
also last year part of the reason that
that our roster shrink ratings look so
good for UCF there were a handful of
players especially on the defensive side
of allall uh who transferred in after
being standouts at you know their their
group of five uh school so they would
end up coming in uh with a rating in the
you know high 80s low 90s where a lot of
that rating was built on just their
level of production at a lower level of
competition and and sometimes uh you
know we do a great job of of properly
calibrating that and sometimes and it
seemed like maybe last year with UCF uh
we didn’t we sort of overrated UCF and
there’s uh you know certainly some of
those players are back there’s a decent
level of returning production especially
on the defensive side of the ball
they’re top 50 nationally in defensive
returning production according to our
numbers 71st overall so roughly FBS
average um and then they added some you
know very talented players the most
important of which is KJ Jefferson
quarterback transfer from Arkansas who
has played in 44 career games 38 career
starts um has been a productive player
and you know steps in uh to be the
starting quarterback at UCF so that
really solidifies that position there’s
not going to be a drop off at least the
way that we calculate it um you know
moving on from John rice pumble who is
preparing for a professional career uh
KJ Jefferson comes in and and looks like
you know a top 15 starter as far as our
uh individual player ratings at that
position go RJ Harvey at running back um
I believe is if not a first round pick
in cff drafts on the fr there certainly
a top two round type uh player based on
his level of production last season
might get hurt a little bit because KJ
Jefferson uh does uh run the football
quite a bit especially down by the goal
line and at you know 250 plus pounds
listed at 242 but uh seems to to uh
seems like perhaps he’s a little uh
upward of of 250 based on some some most
recent
information uh you know he’s a a very
powerful Runner uh that could end up
taking a few touchdowns away from RJ
Harvey but regardless Harvey one of the
best running backs in the country and
there’s some good wide receivers as well
I have high expectations for Kobe Hudson
this year he’s been a little bit banged
up uh this spring um but Xavier Townsen
stepping up looks like he is going to be
uh one of those top two white outs as
well uh should be able to provide uh you
know some quality weapons for KJ
Jefferson the quarterback position did
take a little bit of a hit in its depth
uh this week with uh
backup Timmy mlan entering the transfer
portal perhaps looking for an
opportunity to start elsewhere uh but
UCF ranks top 25 nationally right now in
our roster strength ratings both overall
on offense and on defense so uh I’m
quite nervous about this I have I’m I’m
fully expecting
uh that we’re going to end up looking
pretty silly that UCF uh is a top uh you
know 25 type team and the top rated team
right now in our our preseason power
ratings um but you know sometimes things
work out we have a pretty good process I
think for how we evaluate these teams
again opinion is no no part of that
calculation uh and so sometimes the
numbers end up working them you know
themselves out uh and maybe show a
little value on a team related to some
other uh you know some other folks out
there some other systems some other uh
ratings uh outfits so I’m not sure I
have personally no opinion to say that
we are right that UCF is the best team
uh in the Big 12 on paper um they did
you know play at a top 40 level last
year ranked 36th in our overall team
performance we’re a top 10 offense in
team performance last season and I don’t
see a significant drop off even with a
change at quarterback losing top wide
receiver as well uh two full-time
starters coming back on the offensive
line the defense needs to take a big
step forward they were 88 last year in
defensive team performance but this is a
wide open conference and UCF absolutely
could be in the mix now again my
personal opinion I probably would put
Utah as the number one team in uh my
personal Big 10 power rankings and
they’re close they’re close to you c f
they are a top 25 team as well as it
stands right now they’re number two in
our big 12 Power Rankings they also have
a top 25 roster strength both
offensively and defensively and overall
uh the the biggest news uh the biggest
piece of that puzzle is Cam Rising a
quarterback back and fully healthy we’ve
talked about that a good bit this spring
uh getting brt key back at tight end is
of course excellent uh adding some
weapons like Dorian singer through the
transfer portal Utah also just got a
commitment from Damen Alford who is a
starter at Syracuse to uh help boost
that wide receiver group as well uh
according to everything I read including
a a most recent posts spring projected
depth chart uh from the Deseret News
Michael Bernard seems like the number
one running back uh and you know all
indications are he’ll be that first guy
uh on the field this fall but Jaylen
Glover in the mix uh as well should get
plenty of opportunities as well as
Anthony Woods transfer from Idaho uh but
this Utah offense looks really really
good and and you know defensively Utah
consistently performs at a high level so
I expect that the offense which ranked
95th last year in overall offensive team
performance they’re going to take a big
big step forward probably a top 50 unit
I would expect if they do that and
continue to play like a top 30 defense
like they did last season this Utah team
is going to be very very difficult to
beat in the new look big 12 Oklahoma
State and Kansas are going to be there
also uh those two teams rank uh right
around top 30 nationally in our big 12
Power Rankings and that’s something that
we’re going to you know discuss a little
bit here it’s going to be sort of a
theme there are not uh there are not
very many um breaks in in tiers there’s
not a wide range between these teams
right now UCF is 21st for us Kansas is
30th so I mean you know four teams in
that 20 to 30 range all of them could be
conference title contenders and then
when we get to tier two we’re talking
about an even larger group that is you
know top 50 to to mid-50s um but
Oklahoma state with you know arguably
the best running back in college
football in oi Gordon ashon jinty at
boisey State certainly in that
conversation but Gordon came on had a
huge huge season last year after a
little bit of a slow start we’ve talked
before about the level of experience
returning for Oklahoma State on uh the
offensive line which as a unit didn’t
grade out particularly well last season
the way we calculated they were 96th
excuse me 998th and o line performance
rating but still expect uh that that
running you know rushing attack with
Gordon leading the way and that
experienced offensive line uh is going
to be very difficult to slow down also
the quarterback position you know part
of the reason Oklahoma State got off to
a slow start last year is they were
rotating quarterbacks you know probably
probably didn’t need to it seemed uh
clear to a lot of folks on the outside
that Alan Bowman gave them the best
chance to win eventually uh the the
coaching staff made that decision as
well that really helped uh unlock guys
like um Rashad Owens who had a huge uh
back half of the Season looks like a
great um um wide out in the Big 12
Brennan Presley of course has been an
all conference performer in the past
DeShaun stribbling at wide receiver who
was injured early last year getting him
back in fully healthy will be big this
Oklahoma State team is so far the most
talented team that we have discussed
they’re 16th in our overall roster
strength ratings top 10 on the offensive
side of the ball top 25 defensively they
are absolutely going to be in the mix
Kansas is a team that uh you know has
come a long way in a short while
defensively I have some concerns looks
like right now in our our roster
strength ratings Kansas is going to be
an FBS average or below uh defense but a
top 15 offense especially if Jaylen
Daniels is back in healthy we talked
about some good uh news on that front
potentially uh you know as they finished
spring camp uh earlier in the week Devon
Neil one of the top running backs in the
country experienced it wide receiver
position as well offensive line looks
pretty good on paper probably two
transfers coming in to start if the
defense which last year was a little
below FBS average 74th in our defensive
team performance numbers if that unit
takes a little bit of a step forward
plays a little better than its Talent
profile would suggest um then this
Kansas team I think absolutely can be a
factor in the Big 12 title race tier two
is huge Arizona is a team that was you
know in some top 10 top 15 uh way too
early preseason rankings I believe ESPN
had them uh top 10 after last season a
coaching change is is going to be a
factor uh some transfer defections going
to be a little bit of a factor multiple
starters on the defensive line at least
one starter in the secondary from last
year’s team have entered the transfer
portal Jonah Coleman very very talented
running back uh has transferred to
Washington
so Arizona is a team that has lost a
little bit of ground um but seemingly is
going to be able to hold on to tario
Davis who is back on the transfer field
still in the transfer po kind of a
unique situation uh is listed as a you
know top 10 or top five available
transfer in multiple places Max Olsson
the athletic ad him I think number two
uh in a a recent uh write up number
three should say behind Damen Martinez
and and Dominic Williams the defensive
tackle from TCU uh but Davis you know
after giving uh fans a little bit of a
scare earlier in the week by sitting out
of practice uh seems like maybe that was
more injury related than him really
looking uh to move on there was a tweet
uh by the Arizona football account uh of
of Davis uh in action on the the
practice field on Thurs day so uh that
would be huge if they are able to hold
on to him Damen Martinez the top
transfer currently available the the
former Oregon State running back was on
campus uh on Thursday seemed to enjoy
his visit from what we can gather that
running back group despite losing
Coleman should be very deep qu Conley
who’s been a little banged up this
spring jakori kruxy Merritt who has not
yet arrived from New Mexico but had what
18 rushing touchdowns last year uh and
uh rayan Luke Speedy Luke that running
back group you know doesn’t necessarily
need Damen Martinez uh but it would
definitely uh add to the uh offensive
Firepower for Arizona which really took
a huge step forward last year when Noah
Fafa took over as quarterback T McMillan
one of the best maybe the best wide
receiver in college football and sounds
like Montana lonus Craig was making some
highlight catches earlier in the week as
well an experienced offensive line so
even though the overall roster strength
for Arizona right now is you know middle
of the pack nationally in part because
of some of the losses they suffered on
defense uh this offensive unit which
right now looks like a top 40 unit on
paper I think we are underrating Arizona
I think them currently being just inside
our top 40 I I probably should have
included them in that top tier because I
do think that they will play uh up to
that level I think they will absolutely
be in the mix with an Oklahoma state
with a Kansas and you could say the same
for Kansas state which we’re skipping a
few teams here uh but want to move a
little bit quicker so we don’t just run
out of time Kansas State as I said is uh
the number two big 12 team in Sp plus
they are top 20 team nationally 18th
Arizona is 19th um so we’re probably too
low on Kansas State they are
consistently a team that the way we
calculate things which works pretty well
for us for the vast majority of teams um
we’ll we’ll talk more of our you know
record as far as uh against the spread
performance and win totals and things
like that as we get a little closer to
the season but if you follow along for a
while you probably know a lot of those
numbers um but sometimes teams are are
tricky for us to uh really get a good
read on Kansas state is one of those
they don’t recruit at a particularly
high level so unless they are a highly
experienced team able to add production
points to those uh you know individual
player ratings over the course of a few
years bring back an an experienced Squad
we are probably going to be a little bit
low on Kansas state that might work out
for us you know maybe maybe uh everybody
who fell in love with Avery Johnson and
believe me I’m a fan as well um maybe
we’re getting a little you know too far
ahead of ourselves perhap perhaps
Johnson is a you know mid 80s player in
our individual player ratings good um
but we do see a drop off a little bit
just based on you know it doesn’t have a
whole lot of experience made two career
starts um DJ giddens very very good
running back but the offense as a whole
is quite inexperienced outside of gens
um Kansas state right now ranks 120th in
our overall returning production numbers
you know if Avery Johnson comes in and
is as B you know as good of a playmaker
as he looked in the bowl game uh as good
as he looked as a you know High School
recruit uh then then yeah Kansas State’s
probably going to be challenging in that
top tier maybe at a top 20 overall level
like SP plus has uh but the way we
calculate it we’ve got some questions
about the offense from an experience
standpoint and from a roster string
standpoint the defense looks a good bit
better they’re top uh 15 in returning
production uh by my count looks like uh
seven full-time returning starters uh
everybody else that we’ve got listed in
uh the the projected starting lineup
played nearly 30% or more of snaps last
season uh a couple of transfers coming
in to to add some depth there as well so
Kansas State and Arizona we’re probably
a little too low they certainly I think
you could make an argument might be in
that that tier one group of legitimate
conference title contenders uh but for
us K State is you know top 50 or so
nationally we’ll run through the the
rest here West Virginia huge uh you know
exceeded expectations last year uh
Garrett green at quarterback a ton to
build around there TCU of course slid
after making the national championship
game in uh the 2022 season um I expect a
little bit of a bounce back after TCU
falling short of a bull bid last year
but we mentioned the loss of Williams
that’s huge literally he is going to be
um one of the most highly sought-after
players in the transfer portal uh
certainly at a position of Need for just
about everybody so big big loss there um
Texas Tech uh you know I think is going
to be a dangerous team really a little
bit concerned about Baron Morton’s
Health but Taj Brooks at running back
took on a much much heavier workload
last year than expected and Texas Tech
was really able to lean on him if that
offense can get going whether it’s
leaning on Brooks again or a little more
of the pass happppy offense that we
expected when Zack kitley came over as
offensive coordinator a few years ago uh
Texas Tech again dangerous team Iowa
State I think is in the mix uh in large
part because of returning production and
and Iowa state was another team that
exceeded expectations last year
especially with a lot of the off the
field issues that were you know in
headlines prior to the season to get to
a bowl game to get a winning record was
huge can they take the next step forward
Iowa State similar Talent profile to
Kansas State they just aren’t going to
rank particularly high in our roster
strength numbers but with number one uh
number one overall returning production
number one on the offensive side of the
ball number three on the defensive side
of the ball could expect that Iowa State
certainly could take another step
forward Colorado always will be a wild
card I was a little bit concerned
earlier in the week before a few uh
pretty highly rated transfers guys like
running back Alton the CasCal tight end
chayton medor entered the transfer
portal Colorado was inside the top 10 in
our overall offensive roster strength
they were knocking on the door the top
40 nationally uh with some thinning out
on the defensive side of the ball guys
that we talked about already couple of
projected offensive starters in our uh
projected depth charts regardless of you
know how coach Prime said maybe those
guys weren’t in uh competition to start
based on practice at this point but uh
feel a little bit better about col where
Colorado is right now they are just
inside the top 60 uh they do rank quite
high in offensive roster rength they’re
14th a lot of that is shador Sanders is
an upper 90s player uh the wide receiver
position looks good on paper Jimmy horn
back Travis Hunter back putting Hunter
as a starter on both offense and defense
is going to help those Russ shrink
numbers of course lante Wester transfer
from FAU ranks really really highly
based on just his eye popping numbers at
the group of five level perhaps we’re
overrating him a little bit but um still
think he’s going to be a dangerous
weapon and and then Colorado is one of
those teams kind of similar to UCF where
the roster strength numbers look really
good in part because a lot of the
transfers maybe were rated really highly
coming out of high school or if they’re
coming up from you know group of five
team or a FCS level they probably have
been very productive were able to add uh
you know some of those production points
so for Colorado it balances things out
because they did not rank high in any
team performance numbers last year they
were 93rd overall 71st on offense 119th
on defense that really helped offset
those High uh you know top 25 roster
strength uh number so Colorado you know
will will the the coach Prime experience
just blow up spectacularly possibly
would I personally be shocked if things
click especially if shador Sanders stays
healthy those you know weapons in in the
wide receiver room or or you know they
get a little bit of something uh in you
know R in terms of rushing offense um
and this Colorado team is you know in a
bowl uh or maybe making life very
difficult for the top half of the Big 12
I I would not be shocked um but I’m also
you know feeling a little bit better
that we’re not going to be uh much
higher on Colorado than maybe a lot of
other folks uh out there so that that to
me was a little bit of good news we’re a
little more in line with SP Plus for
Colorado they’re 66 there we have them
58th right now Baylor uh is just in time
uh inside the top 70 think that Baylor
will be an improved team and then
there’s a pretty clear tier break for
teams like Houston Cincinnati Arizona
State and BYU who right now are uh below
FBS average in our expectation in our
power rankings these are teams that are
going to be in the 70s 80s and 90s once
our our final power rankings are done
BYU um just right now on paper really
doesn’t look good the way we calculate
it um I think they’ll be a little bit
better than our numbers indicate I think
Arizona State despite the big transfer
news that Jaden rashada is in in the
transfer portal um you know uh the the
team at C2C loves Sam levit uh doesn’t
sound like levit the transfer from
Michigan state has been taking a lot of
first time reps so far this spring uh
but even if Trenton Bor go gets that
starting nod uh then uh you know in in
week one or two perhaps levit will be
able to Edge him out before the end of
the year um um keep an eye on that
because I know our team does Love levit
and Arizona State I personally do expect
will take a bit of a step forward uh
this this season um just there’s there’s
some I don’t know there’s some positive
buzz and and I do think Dillingham uh
despite being very young and and
honestly you know inexperience coming
into last year that probably played a
little bit into uh their lack of success
uh but top 20 in returning production uh
or actually after the the rashada uh
adjustment they’re they’re outside the
top 30 32 uh in our most up to-date
numbers um but uh good depth at running
back with Cam scabo um a lot to like in
the receiving group uh should have said
reli Brown the former festar or forstar
running back USC transfer who played a
little receiver as well before
transferring out he had a huge spring so
Arizona State I think we might be a
little low on I think they might have a
chance to uh maybe jump into that tier
with Colorado and Baylor um but still a
team that just right now uh on paper the
way we calculate it definitely on the
the low end as far as our power rankings
go all right so with that said and with
you know again the reminder that I know
probably nothing about uh how this big
12 will will shake out these rankings
didn’t necessarily line up with my own
personal opinion and they will change
because of course uh the transfer portal
is is still open things will will you
know be adjusted both positively and
negatively uh you know based on that
based on any injuries that we hear so uh
we’ll we’ll get back into power rankings
for uh conferences uh and team previews
a little later closer to the season but
that’s how things Stack Up right now in
the Big 12 as for transfer portal
updates we we touched on a lot of those
notes and a lot of Big 12 uh teams were
impacted by the recent news we mentioned
Damen Martinez’s visit to Arizona uh he
according to multiple reports I think
Hayes faucet of of on three was among
the first I saw to uh List It
Mississippi State Kentucky and Miami are
reportedly getting visits from Martinez
I think there was an inhome visit with
Martinez in Miami uh maybe earlier this
week there was some reporting uh to that
uh nature apparently a a previously
planned visit to Tennessee was cancelled
so if uh Martinez doesn’t end up in
Tucson sounds like perhaps he is uh
looking East uh either to the SEC or
Miami still seems like a pretty uh you
know maybe the the betting favorite if
you were to to describe as such uh
Justin Spears of the Arizona Daily Star
and tucson.com reported on Martinez
being at practice on Thursday uh he
stood on the sidelines next to San Jose
State transfer running back qu connley
who we said uh was out due to injury
he’s been dealing with a right leg
injury according to Spears um and then
mentioned that tario Davis one of the
top corners uh in the Big 12 quite
honestly but but certainly in the
transfer portal one of the uh top
players currently in the transfer portal
was back at practice um a few others who
had sat out earlier in the week were
back as well including wide receiver AJ
Jones and linebacker Jacob Manu um and
then finally uh before we get to more
just you know transfer notes uh
finishing up from the Arizona practice
wide receiver Jackson Holman according
to Spears Jackson Holman sorry voice did
something weird there um has been a
quote standout pass catcher uh this
spring so 64 205 pounder um it was
called a quote technician in running
routes and seldomly drops passes so keep
that in mind if you’re thinking about
who potentially could complement T
McMillan in that passing attack uh we
mentioned
uh uh Williams the uh transfer now from
uh the the interior defensive lineman at
TCU he is going to be a highly
sought-after player in max olsson’s top
10 uh available transfers from the
athletic it was also listed former Texas
A&M safety jacobe Matthews uh Pinn State
wide receiver Keandre Lambert Jason zand
deela from uh USC the offensive lineman
a couple of offensive linemen most
recently of f SMU Marcus Bryant and uh
Branson Hickman and then a couple of
recent transfer additions Penny Boon the
running back uh last season at Toledo
this spring at Louisville and Kent State
defensive lineman CJ West uh who we
talked about before a few names that
perhaps could break into a top 10 at
some point or or certainly top 25
caliber transfers most likely Simeon
Barrow of Michigan State and interior
defensive lineman has entered the
transfer portal again he briefly spent
some time in the portal last uh season
he is uh looking for a new home and and
again interior defensive line is
probably number one on just about
everybody’s wish list Barrow is I think
already been uh linked to LSU among
others we’ve talked about LSU this
spring is really having a need there um
so keep keep that in mind a lot of SEC
teams it sounds like are going to be in
the mix for guys like Barrow and West
and Williams uh any others that may pop
up I’m sure uh one out of Louisville
Jermaine L we we uh mentioned earlier in
the week and on that note at Louisville
we we discussed on the same day we
talked about l in in the transfer portal
that there were four offensive linemen
who were reportedly entering uh
including Lance Robinson and Travon
Sylvester which we learned this week
apparently is not the case those two are
returning to Louisville Brandon Marcelo
had a note uh about resending his
initial report on uh Sylvester and
Robinson but later on uh Louisville did
lose a starting linebacker from last
season Jaylen Alderman is now in the
transfer portal Cincinnati also lost a
starting linebacker uh yesterday Dorian
Jones has entered the transfer portal um
we touched on Utah they added Damen
Alford uh the Syracuse wide receiver
they also added uh a pretty productive
uh Edge Defender from Utah State Paul
Fitzgerald earlier this week and Utah
State uh lost uh some depth at the
running back position Devon boo had been
a quality performer for the agies last
year he entered the transfer portal
Thursday night Cooper laga who uh has
been a starter at quarterback for Utah
state entered the transfer portal as
well well he’s the second Utah State
transfer from last season to enter the
portal this spring that seemingly clears
the way uh for the return of Spencer
petris at uh Utah State I’ve heard some
uh good reports about him coming out of
Logan so far this spring and then Bryson
Barnes haven’t heard as much about the
Utah transfer uh but Barnes uh and uh
petus seemingly now the top two
contenders to start at the quarterback
position for Utah State but Booth was
the leading rusher for the agies last
year 85 yards and six touchdowns
averaged 6.7 yards per carry so an
explosive quality running back uh did
split time with rushell Fagan and Robert
Briggs Jr both of whom had over 80
carries last season so it’s not like
Utah State’s necessarily uh in a bad
spot now at the running back position
but Booth had been uh the best of that
group uh last year there will be plenty
of other news and notes uh FAU had
multiple uh starters on the defensive
side of the ball in the past uh entered
the transfer portal this week uh few
other names are are sort of trickling
out now that FAU is done with spring
practice I’m curious to see how that all
ends I wouldn’t uh I would expect FAU to
be one of our teams of the day next week
once we have a little bit of handle on
on sort of the way that roster has
shifted mentioned Timmy mlan leaving UCF
uh but also a starter uh former wide
Mississippi State wide receiver Justin
Robinson was the only returning starter
at that position from last year’s team
uh the way we calculate it you know 51%
or more of of starts uh Robinson not
super productive only had you know a
little over 300 receiving yards uh but
uh I guess uh you know haven’t haven’t
heard very much out of Starkville in
terms of where Robinson fit into that
new offense under Jeff Levy it sounds
like he will not be part of that group
uh moving forward all right some Spring
train uh spring practice Spring Game
notes I should say Indiana had its
spring game last night uh Jack um ankony
of hooers now and Dalton James of the
Indiana Daily student were among those
who had some Recaps that I read through
this morning uh Ohio transfer Curtis
roor was the first team quarterback that
was as expected uh but roor uh faced a
tough challenge in the Indiana defense
on his first two drives um he had two
incompletions and an intentional
grounding penalty on that uh you know
first set of drives um had some early
misses but got in a rhythm later on
finished strong according to uh Ankeny
LED Indiana on a touchdown drive that
turned out to be the game winner looked
good on mostly short passes completed uh
eight for seven yards or fewer on that
final drive including a three-yard
touchdown pass to Anderson Kobe who was
the leading uh receiver of the night for
Indiana somewhat surprisingly but did a
lot of his work I think against the
number two defense uh roor also on that
final drive got Elijah serat the James
Madison transfer who a lot of folks are
uh very excited about hit him twice for
uh you know double digit gains on that
final drive so perhaps those two uh
building a rapport uh this spring and in
the spring game sort of when the the you
know rising to the moment I suppose uh
RoR finished 21 of 33 passing for 146
yards and a touchdown uh his top
Challenger for the quarterback position
Tav Jackson played with the second team
offense uh Jackson got off to uh quite a
good start uh seven for seven on his
first drive that included a 39 yard pass
uh to Kobe and an 11 yard touchdown to
Donovan McCully the 65 Target former
quarterback transfer who uh head coach
Kirk zetti got on to a little bit uh
through the media early in Spring
practice said he needed to to pick it up
McCully did have a good uh spring game
had a couple of big plays in uh the the
the spring game not sure he’s going to
be you know the top wide receiver as as
some might have expected at the
beginning of Spring practice uh but
seems to be coming on uh throughout the
the the course of this spring and and
perhaps responding to getting called out
a little bit by his head coach in the
media um Kobe and Jackson connected on a
64 yard complete completion as well uh
Wake Forest running back transfer
Justice Ellison scored uh on the ground
um he and Tyson lton who uh transferred
from James Madison also uh had a rushing
touchdown Jackson finished the night 11
of 14 for 170 yards with one touchdown
and one interception Kobe had 114
receiving yards in a touchdown again to
lead the team true freshman Tyler Cherry
didn’t get very much action was in for
two drives completed one of three passes
for eight yards so following you know
again one of those uh comments from
cetti that he’s not ready seems to
indicate uh based on his playing time uh
in the spring game to be the case this
is most likely uh Ro’s job but at you
know the very least a two-man
composition with cherry uh you know
going to be a factor later on in his
career uh at Purdue Tom dinard of golden
black had some uh follow-up thoughts on
Purdue as as the boil maker uh spring
came to an end last week uh kaidon
Jackson who had been playing an edge
position last season uh is an inside
linebacker now and it sounds like
according to multiple reports a lot of
what din artist said throughout the
course of the spring uh that that the uh
indication is that that’s going to be a
very good fit for Jenkins um he will
play on the Ed Edge some in obvious
passing situations according to dardt uh
who also mentioned that at the
quarterback position it was perhaps
interesting to see true freshman maros
Dilla was with the number two offense
was you know seemingly the backup
quarterback to Hudson card and as Diner
said you know don’t want to read too
much into spring games but he had a
beautiful 40 yard 40 yard connection
with fellow freshman Jamar Harris who
has flashed um and Dilla and Ryan Brown
were taking turns with the the number
two offense this spring and in the
spring game specifically and that brown
got time with the number one offense in
the second half but benth Meredith who
was the starting quarterback for Purdue
when card went down last season and and
started against Northwestern uh got no
snaps with the number one unit so
seemingly Meredith you know not in
contention maybe for that backup spot uh
that brown and and Dilla the true
freshman maybe is is the player to beat
uh dardt mentioned Jamal erdine or
excuse me edin who transferred from
FAU last season suffered a uh a knee
injury that ended his season before it
would start but the way that dinard
wrote it he will be wide receiver one in
2024 uh pretty interesting makes the the
clear uh statement you know clear
prediction uh that Edan is going to be
uh the number one white out for this
Purdue offense uh so maybe you forgot
about him uh after not playing last year
but um definitely going to be a big
addition getting him back in healthy for
the Purdue offense he didn’t play in the
spring game but uh seems like he is
going to be um card’s most likely top
Target Edan caught him big physical
Target um and uh of course as I said
didn’t play on Saturday so might have
missed if you were tuning in looking at
highlights uh don’t forget about Edan
again dinard also had some very positive
things to say about freshman running
back Jim Maryweather Who quote looks the
part wow you don’t see 6-2 running backs
that often fluid he had a 40-yard TD run
called back can he Forge a role in 2024
as a true freshman uh is the question
for Purdue uh tight end Max Clair was
often targeted during the Spring Game
and seem’s like he is going to be in for
a heavy workload after returning from
injury uh after the first five games
last season and there were a lot of
players who were unavailable for the
spring game on Saturday including
several offensive lineman uh as well as
wide receiver cam brown but it was
interesting to me there was also a write
up uh an interview on Golden black
earlier this week that discussed uh Jake
but who was the commentator for the big
Tim Network at Purdue spring game who
just had several glowing things to say
about that Purdue offensive line so uh
perhaps good news there for the boiler
makers even with that unit being uh
limited due to injury in the spring game
at UCLA who is one of uh Indiana and
produ Big 10 uh counterparts now uh few
uh notes coming out this spring David
Woods of Bru report online has been very
busy in recent weeks uh Alex uh kersen
bomb of all Bruins also uh had uh some
writeups as well but the biggest news
and and somebody I should have mentioned
prior to now uh defensive lineman Jay
TOA is entering the transfer portal he
you know uh put him in that group with
uh Williams and Barrow and West and
perhaps at the the top of that list uh
as far as players who are going to get a
lot of uh interest in the transfer Port
otoa uh who woulds say is probably the
top NFL prospect on the entire team this
was before he officially entered the
portal on Thursday or announced he was
going to enter the portal on Thursday um
and certainly the key to UCLA having a
credible defense this year well that now
is very much in question uh Woods uh
noted earlier in the week that Ethan
garbers probably had his best day
throwing the ball and that his
connection with Titus mocho atam Malala
uh was uh working perfectly during Red
Zone drills with three touchdowns to
makio atam Malala in four plays and that
makio atam Malala for his part quote
continues to look like one of the very
best players on this offense getting him
back this year could be critical so um
there’s been some question as to you
know what’s the running back situation
like at UCLA uh the depth as a whole
across the roster is a bit of an issue I
certainly no that building their team
profile Woods noted that in a piece
where he offered five takeaways from the
spring thus far um that Talent is down
basically across the board also
expressed some specific concerns about
the depth at tight end and linebacker
wide receiver is a strength especially
if uh mocho atam Malala is going to step
up and be a
playmaker and uh uh J Michael STV event
has been limited by injury so far this
year so uh keep that in mind as as we’re
reading any transfer reports but um the
the tight end depth part of that is
because uh expected starter at tight end
Hudson habil was one of three UCLA
players who have torn an ACL so far this
spring uh one walk-on running back Troy
Leber the other a uh reter freshman
defensive back Donovan P pellet um who
we had pencil in is a potential
contributor uh back up in the secondary
there but uh
UCLA not not getting a lot of great news
either on the transfer for front or the
injury uh front few final notes uh
before we turn our attention
to uh our our team of the day which is
Troy at Oregon State Nick dashel of The
Oregonian noted that javanni McCoy has
been taking more first team reps uh this
late this spring in in the most recent
practices ahead of Ben go Branson who it
sounds like has been a little bit
limited by injury both he and Jabari
Johnson have have missed some time due
to injury according to reports so McCoy
maybe not necessarily outplaying gold
Branson and and some of our earlier uh
what we read earlier in the spring in
that competition was that those two were
pretty neck and neck um but at least as
of late McCoy is getting a little bit
more work uh Jamie vinck of fan.com had
some notes on Washington State something
to potentially file away wide receiver
Kyle Williams was absent from day 10 of
spring practice Tuesday uh and vinck
asked head coach Jake dickert about
Williams who seemingly you know going to
be the the you know number one option uh
whoever ends up winning this quarterback
duel between um ekow and and John
mattier zie eous the transfer from
Bryant and John mattier who was last
year’s backup uh Dicker said quote we
have a couple of guys that we’ve got to
make sure academically are doing things
right Kyle is one of those guys Rashard
McKenzie is one of those guys we’ve got
two weeks left of class and they have to
be out there getting it done so uh keep
just you know file that away Kyle
Williams pretty high expectations
especially from a fantasy standpoint uh
but academics you know if a guy’s not
eligible uh not going to be able to
contribute not only at Washington State
but you know is he uh uh potential
transfer I’ve seen some Whispers of that
as well uh gota got to be eligible so uh
we’ll see certainly how that all shakes
out but on the quarterback notes on uh
Tuesday uh vinck also noted that uh
Chris Hudson was with the second unit
wide receiver Chris Hudson with Zeva
but eow had his best practice of the
spring so far and those two quote linked
up nicely uh had a touchdown as well um
the uh the day for Bryant he went eight
for nine with a touchdown to Hudson and
another beautiful deep Fade to tight end
Billy uh Rivery um his lone incompletion
was nearly a touchdown uh that Leon Neil
Jr almost made a circus catch on in the
back of the end zone that again
according to vinck so uh there’s little
little bit of good news little bit of
bad news little bit of shuffling you
know eow maybe outperforming mattier but
perhaps against you know with the second
team with the second uh against the
second team defense um but mattier if
he’s not going to be uh you know as
impressive might might lose a little
ground on on some of those first team
reps all right now our team of the day
today is Troy the Trojans who are uh
coming off yet another successful season
11-3 overall 7- one in sunel play but
the vast majority of that team is gone
Troy in our most recently updated uh
returning production rankings is dead
last
134th they have just
26.1% of their uh returning
production uh in our current adjusted
calculations which incorporate you know
encompasses uh transfers both in and out
Troy has not been particularly active uh
at least as far as bringing in players
who uh were getting a lot of significant
playing time at their previous positions
uh running back Gerald Green probably
the most productive player on the
offensive side of the ball coming in he
may or may not be a factor as far as
significant first team reps at running
back so far this season he had just 101
yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries
in six games last year uh was uh at East
Carolina previously Georgia Southern
where he had a little bit more success
early on in his career uh but gunar
Watson quarterback is gone he threw for
uh 3,000 557 yards 27 touchdowns and six
interceptions last
season uh Goose Crowder was the backup
last year uh was nine of 13 for 94 yards
and one touchdown so very limited
opportunity in three games uh but a
former uh West Virginia s uh seemingly
the the previous coaching staff and the
new coaching staff uh very very positive
about Goose Crowder Troy has not to my
knowledge
uh and I’ll double check our information
here but you know has not looked to
bring in somebody to challenge him at
the quarterback position so it is goose
Crowder’s job he and Tucker Kil crease
are the only two quarterbacks on the
roster right now scholarship
quarterbacks so those two have gotten
all the Reps it sounds like and and
Crowder uh I don’t know if it’s official
that he is going to be the starter but
seemingly uh lock down that that
starting job so far this SP spring uh
there were some quotes from John Johnson
of the Dothan Eagle from Saturday’s
scrimmage who talked to uh Goose Crowder
who said quote a couple of guys on
offense made some plays Devonte Ross
Landon Parker Payton Higgins I mean all
the receivers the line block great and
the back saw it good uh the defense made
some plays so happy for them too all in
all I’m going to walk off the field with
a smile on my face so uh those receivers
that he mentioned also you know guys who
are not uh major actors last year uh JRE
Barber has transferred out to Texas A&M
Chris Lewis uh unfortunately has been
dealing with a cancer diagnosis uh
deshun STM is out of uh eligibility that
leaves Ross as the leading uh returning
most experienced receiver he had 40
catches on 61 targets last year 428
yards and three touchdowns so seemingly
and had a huge uh scrimmage according to
multiple reports on Saturday Ross looks
like the top uh wi out for Crowder at
Troy this year uh and of course you know
a name that’s I’ve been seeing a little
bit of NFL draft Buzz kamman Vidal who
had basically every Troy uh you know
career record um last season ran for
1652 yards uh 14 touchdowns on the
ground 5.6 yards per carry also had uh
you know some decent results as a
receiver out of the backfield as well 18
catches 2011 yards and a touchdown uh
but he is moving on so that leaves Damen
Taylor as the most experienced running
back coming back from last year uh he is
competing with green jarus Williams
Jordan LoveIt T Meadows pton Higgins
among others it sounds like going to be
a sort of deep uh running back group and
have some quotes on uh that as well
where the seaword was used uh committee
for the Troy running back according to
coaches so far this spring but uh Taylor
the most experienced guy coming back had
67 carries 346 yards and a touchdown
last year also caught four passes for
nine yards and a touchdown he’ll be
running behind an offensive line that
returns two full-time starters uh two
players who had 13 or more starts last
season for Troy but uh Troy lost two of
its starters to the transfer portal
including Derek Graham who transferred
to Texas A&M has since re-entered the
transfer portal would he be uh maybe
able to come back to Troy that you know
I that’s just speculation on my part but
that would be certainly a boost to this
offense which as we stated ranks 127th
right now in our adjusted offensive
returning production numbers and the
defense one of the hardest hit units in
college football uh Troy last season
finished the year uh in our our power
ratings in our uh roster strength
ratings among the highest G5 teams in
the country um the amount of production
that Troy was able to get on the
defensive side of the ball and you know
a couple of those players who were so
productive so disruptive came in you
know as transfers from uh Power
Conference teams and so putting that
initial recruiting uh Talent adjusting
for experience and production uh guys
like Richard juor and and Javon
Solomon were well over the 100 uh Mark
in our individual player ratings by the
end of the year I mean double digit
production points year after year for
those guys um combined with other
experien you know defensive lineman uh
TJ Jackson Who since transferred out uh
to West Virginia uh Buddha Jones AJ
Pierce you know that that front seven uh
was a top 15 unit at the end of the
season in our uh position and unit
ratings nationally number one at the sun
Bel at every uh offensive position uh
according to our numbers top 10
defensive line or excuse me top 10
linebacker group depending on how you
you know throw jbor and Solomon into the
mix uh they had the best defensive line
in the Sun Belt the best secondary in
the Sun Belt and a top 15 roster
strength last season now one starter is
back uh only one player who ranked among
the top uh what is this uh 10 tacklers
one of their top 10 tacklers is back uh
they lost Jaden McDonald to the transfer
portal they lost a couple of guys in the
secondary Caleb Rossa and kesan Swanson
to the transfer portal and then more
than half a dozen players out of
Eligibility who were starters last
season for Troy so they rank 133rd in
our adjust defensive returning
production numbers this is just a brand
new team there are a lot of positive
things coming out of uh spring practice
uh in addition to you know last year or
last week’s scrimmage uh Josh boutwell
from the Troy Messenger like I said
wrote up uh you know the the depth that
is at running back despite losing kamani
Vidal um head coach Gerard Parker uh
said that they would probably be looking
like I said to to uh make that a
committee uh situation he said quotee
they’re developing trust through our
coaching staff and our offense and our
players in the locker room I think that
we’ll attack uh what was lost by
attacking it with a group we’ll have to
do it by committee and let those guys
earn the opportunity to get carries
they’re all they all bring different
things things there’s different talents
to each of them I think there are four
guys coming out of spring that will be
able to help us so we’ll do it by
committee and attack it that way uh
Damen Taylor again the most
experienced uh but expect that he will
uh be competing for carries and perhaps
sharing that workload uh with up to
three others as well but looking at the
schedule can Troy um get back to
you know sunb Sun Bel Championship
caliber they beat app State for the
conference title last year the Sun Belt
to my eye early on before we have our
official Sun Belt uh power ratings
complete seems pretty wide open you know
my best guess right now is that app
State perhaps uh is the favorite I think
James Madison certainly in the same boat
as far as lost uh level of production as
Troy Tex State probably the favorite in
the west division we’ve talked a good
bit about Texas state so far uh this
spring uh but Troy you know especially
if Goose Crowder comes in solidifies
that quarterback position um they’re
they’re still going to be a dangerous
team I do think they are going to be a
you know top half of the division top
half of the conference type team despite
being on the extreme low end in in
returning production loss there is a
pretty tough early season schedule Troy
probably will be favored at home against
Nevada in week one but then back-to-back
road trips at Memphis who we said plenty
uh is is probably going to be one of our
highest rated G5 teams in the country
and they have to go at Iowa in week
three so not necessarily a great matchup
for an offense that is very
inexperienced they host Florida ANM who
is coming off of a black college
National Championship last season FAMU
lost a lot key players lost its head
coach but still a top quality FCS
program so that’s going to be maybe a
little bit tougher uh matchup than you
might expect out of an FCS opponent uh
and then they start Sunbelt conference
play in the last weekend in September
hosting ULM probably will be favored in
that game uh another team with a a
coaching change and a lot of turnover
but less talent to work with than Troy
does uh and then they do host Texas so
that is a big you know cross division
matchup but getting the Bobcats at home
on a Thursday night uh you know that
that makes me think that that that’s uh
maybe not a game where Troy will be
favored especially depending on how
things shake out in the the you know
first few weeks of the Season uh but
that’s a that’s a tricky spot for Texas
State uh Troy gets the next week off
then goes backto back uh road trips at
South Alabama uh for that rivalry game
uh on a Tuesday night in mid October and
then at Arkansas State 10 or so days
later they host Coastal Carolina before
taking a final uh off week November 9th
their last three games another
back-to-back road trip so that I don’t
love how that’s set up for them uh but
at Georgia Southern at
Louisiana November 16th and 23rd
respectively and then finish the season
at home against Southern Miss so Troy is
a team that is going to fall quite a bit
from where they were ranked in our team
strength power rankings at the end of
last year just the the you know Vidal uh
Watson you know those wide receivers um
that that’s going to hurt and then the
defensive side of the ball basically
they are starting over from a point
where they were a top 15 team last
season they’re probably going to be
roster strengthwise in the hundreds um
so Troy is is you know probably going to
uh be a team where our EX expectations
are are pretty low at least compared to
what we’ve seen the last couple of years
um and the schedule doesn’t set up great
uh you know the the two tough road uh
games back to back in September I think
you know those are probably not
automatic losses but probably losses so
you’re probably looking at two and two
in non-conference play they do draw
Texas State even though it’s at home
even though Thursday night the favorite
from the uh the West or excuse me of
course they played the West that’s not a
cross division game I messed that up I
think
um no pardon me Troy is in the East I I
move the divisions out of my mind so my
apologies if I’m if I’m screwing things
up here but um getting Texas State at
home that’s going to be uh a good spot
but a tough draw to play uh that you
know highest quality team from the West
you would expect
um and then back toback at South Alabama
and Arkansas State in October back
toback at Georgia Southern and Louisiana
in November um it’s a it’s a tough
matchup and I think I I don’t know I I
totally screwed up the division I think
here uh because there’s a lot more West
teams on here but my my apologies for
that we’ll get that all squared away on
our sun Bel conference preview I’m sure
uh once once my mind’s a little more uh
up to speed but regardless it it’s it’s
a tough schedule and it’s a tough
situation for Troy having to replace so
many players um but still a team that
based on their level of success even
with so much changing coaching staff uh
players on the roster um you know
implementing new scheme on offense and
terminology as was mentioned in that
Troy Messenger piece it’s uh it’s going
to be tough but Troy still a team that I
think will be quite competitive week in
and week out just based on uh the the
level of talent they do do you know
stack up pretty well I still expect uh
among the Sun Belt so uh that will do it
for us today sorry to end on a little
bit of a scattered note there got
flustered forgetting what what division
Troy is in uh in the Sun Belt but uh
regardless good week for us I think
getting a a chance to to do those big 12
Power Rankings we have our final power
five power four now Conference next week
our goal is to get those ACC power
rankings to you on Friday um and more
