yeah very pleased um you know that’s the
thing about this place is that you get
so much so much wind so much swirling um
you know I H hit 10 great golf shots in
the last two holes coming in so I mean
that’s just part of part of what it is
around this place it’s playing brutal
but uh it’s a lot of fun right now I
mean course was very fair I mean even
with everything that’s that’s uh that
we’ve gone through so but overall yeah I
uh very pleased how how much did you
think about Thursday last year before
you round today yeah I mean a good bit I
mean it just puts things into
perspective that you know a year ago I I
could feel the disc slipping and and I
was kind of hiding it from everybody
including members of my team and um you
know it’s hard not to be grateful being
here but I it’s I’m even more grateful
now I battled pretty hard for a but it
was um yeah I felt honestly pretty tidy
around the golf course today with the
winds like this it was Gusty it SWR it
did all the things it normally does but
at another mph to it and um yeah I’m
very happy with the way I ploted my way
around this place I got the ball in the
hole well and yeah walking off with the
sub 70 round today feels like a big win
I’m not even paying attention to the
leaderboard right now it’s these are the
sort of conditions where if you get a
get nine holes where there’s not much
and you can go and score that’s great I
might not have that same opportunity so
I’m just really honestly going one shot
one hole at a time it’s cliche but it’s
the only way to really play golf course
like this you can’t get ahead of
yourself and start chasing people I
think the back n on Sunday is the only
time you can start thinking about that
but you got a lot of work to do to get
there to be honest everything worked
really well today um I drove it great
which is pretty important around here um
you had a lot of decent iron shots and
hold some pots um made a couple of nice
up and downs towards the end of the
round I felt like it got really hard to
pick the wind the last few holes and um
you know did pretty well to hang on to
three under when I you know didn’t
really feel like I did a whole lot wrong
um but yeah I was you pretty happy with
the round if you’d have given me three
under without 10 off today I certainly
would have taken it it completely
unexpected uh you know sometimes that
helps or whatever you make a couple of
birders and your mind still starts
thinking oh you know I can do it so it
was nice to just kind of keep it keep
chilled out and I again I think because
it was playing tough you know probably
really made us concentrate that a little
bit more and um you know nice finish
there in them last four RS to come back
and instead of posting an all right
score of levish which would again for me
would have been an amazing achievement
uh
but yeah Sho 68 yeah really happy I I’ve
always liked playing you know
challenging golf courses and the majors
I think you know are the most difficult
golf courses that we play outside of
maybe a couple tour events but um for
the most part the majors are always very
difficult challenges and it always
excites me I like playing against
against the best players and um these
tournaments I think excite me a little
bit and I try to use that that energy
for you know some enhanced focus and
um yeah I think these are fun weeks to
be be out here playing first off again
you know winning Winged Foot helped me
understand how to win big
tournaments um but a lot of patience
especially out here on this golf course
when you feel like it’s it’s getable you
see it’s right in front of you but it’s
just tricky out here it can be super
tricky and making sure that you play
aggressively but in a in a safe manner
to where it’s not going to get you into
too much trouble so for me as as my game
has progressed I’ve learned to be uh I
try to be a little bit smarter out there
on the golf course not try and go For
Broke and just go for every flag but
place it in the right
position
