like you were uh and we did see a couple
you know drama filed games with the
Vegas gold Knights losing to the Anaheim
Ducks and falling to the eight seed in
the Western Conference and then I
flipped over and it’s like I thought
that the the kings were just gonna I was
like really tuned into the Vagas game
and then I T I tuned over and I was like
oh I mean the kings are up and then oh
wait all of a sudden Chicago is up like
wow so Vegas is I guess Vegas is gonna
just play Edmonton and and we’re going
to see La in there uh against Dallas but
anyways La scored late tied it up and
then kempe won it over time so here we
are it ended late last night I can’t
believe how how quick the turnaround is
here to really it’s wild right four
hours it’s it’s wild to me then we got
like a 12:30 start I’ve never seen a
12:30 game on a Saturday all year long I
don’t think we’ve seen one all year long
like maybe one or two random games on
Saturday morning like in Boston or
something because of some holiday but
it’s really weird the turnaround is
quick it’s not a lot of time to dive
into this stuff what I will say is we’re
going to have a article over at ftn bets
or ftn fantasy.com which I always do
breaking down all the matchups uh
comparing the two teams from a bunch of
little categories from goals to special
teams to five and five play recent
matchups and sharing some of my favorite
series props uh Futures we’ll dive into
some of this here today but this is
mostly going to be Eric and I sharing
our brackets rolling through the
matchups who we think’s going to win
maybe share the the leading goal scor
point leader uh from the teams but it’s
really tough to to break down like to
look at all the markets at the moment
fanduel’s offering some cool goal like
goal numbers for the series like I think
I saw William neander at at plus 175 for
three goals so things like that we’ll
dive into in the article and maybe here
and there on the show but appreciate you

you uh uh we’ll probably do continue to
do the Tuesdays and Thursday we’ll see
you know what works with uh Eric and my
our schedules but we will be you know
covering the Stanley Cup Playoffs as
well but all the picks all the action
over at ftn fantasy.com so just take a
look at the bracket here uh and we’ll
get into like some overall cup odds as
well but I just want to get your
thoughts on on we’re going to share the
bracket at the end we’re going to roll
through these teams but get your
thoughts o just overall looking at this
bracket what’s your initial
take um I mean the west side it’s uh
it’s going to be a tough road to Ho to
get out of that side and win uh there’s
a lot of killers there theast side not
as strong I feel like these two
conferences go back and forth every year
um some disappointments for me on the
East like I don’t want to see the
capitals there didn’t really want to see
New York there but they won the games
they needed to and uh here we
are yeah here we are my initial thoughts
I mean there’s obviously some tough
match it’s going to be tough match ups
cross it’s the NHL it’s like I can make
a case for a lot of these teams uh but
Dallas and Vegas like my goodness this
was the Western Conference finals last
year uh it does kind of suck that
they’re playing in the first round it uh
but at the same time if you’re a hockey
fan it’s awesome right it’s mustat it’s
going to be fantastic there’s a lot of
these first round matchups like Boston
and Toronto again for the fourth fourth
time in what 10 years or so these two
teams are playing each other Florida and
Tampa like these there’s R those are
those are two rival series
right there and um you know you could
make a case for any of those four teams
to kind of go on a run in the East I
think the bottom left part of the
bracket is the quote unquote easier part
here right like if you’re saying blood
bath um tough in the top left right
Dallas Vegas Winnipeg and Colorado
though I would if I was to rank the top
eight teams in the Western Conference
those would be inside my top four uh and
then seeing Vegas Edmonton and la for
the third straight year the Oilers and
the kings are going at it in the opening
round Edmonton has won the first two uh
matchups but there’s a real possibility
here for you know for the Canadians uh
Canadian Canada fans out there we could
see Vancouver and Edmonton actually get
to the Western Conference Finals here
not like not taking shots at Nashville
and LA but the path here for uh one of
those four teams is slightly easier to
avoid those top four teams in the left
until the Western Conference Finals is
great uh and then over in the bottom
right we do have some the two most
lopsided matchups even according to
Vegas and series prices the New York
Rangers against the capitals and then
Carolina against the Islanders so we do
expect uh no spoiler I mean I I think
everybody is expecting the same thing uh
the capitals and the Islanders with a
negative goal differential they’re into
the playoffs the Rangers in the Carolina
Hurricanes uh nothing is easy
but those two teams could potentially
meet up here in the second round that
could be a really good battle as well so
just taking a look at the overalls uh
odds uh via DraftKings the Carolina
Hurricanes are the Stanley Cup favorites
at plus 650 Florida Edmonton Colorado
all at 7 to1 the Rangers at plus 800 the
Dallas Stars at plus 850 they’ve moved a
little bit I think because of the
matchup against Vegas I believe they
were 8 to1 on DraftKings yesterday
the Bruins are 11 to1 the golden knights
the defending Stanley Cup champion
golden knights who will get Mark Stone
back just in time like they did last
year 13 to1 the Maple Leafs at 14 to1
the Canucks at 16 the Jets at 20 the
lightning at 25 the Kings at 30 your
PR’s at 40 to1 the Islanders at 50 to1
and the Washington Capitals are 150 to
one I don’t know like if I I don’t
remember seeing this last year a team
that was just like there is a massive
gap between the Islanders who are 50 to1
complete long shot to win the Stanley
Cup and then the Washington Capitals at
151 and you’ve said this a bunch already
you didn’t feel like they deserve to get
in you’re sick of them getting in the
negative 37 goal differential out of all
of the teams they they’re dead lost in
in goals four per game uh and when I
looked at some of their just point
leaders I mean it’s nobody’s had 70 uh
on the team and we had to you know get
great pushes from stro and oetkin down
the stretch of the season to get to the
mid to high 60s for the squad but
they’re here and all you got to do is
get to the dance and we have seen teams
go on runs Eric that have played mwind
hockey down the stretch and have leaned
on strong goal ending and and that’s
what’s really happen here with
Washington especially with Charlie
lingren between the pipes yeah I mean
would it Shock Me for Charlie L lingren
to go unconscious and for them to play
in the final no seen him before see it
lots of times um just the reality is
like analytics are great I use them
myself I I like them the story that the
numbers can
tell I don’t think they’re as bad as the
goal differential says right I just
think it’s when they lost they lost real
bad and they’d be down and they’d be
pushing and being aggressive and then
they’d get scored on
again whatever it is you know they just
they’re not really playing a safe style
even the last game of the year like they
came out in the third period and were
aggressive all over the ice and they
didn’t even really need to be but they
continued to be because that’s how um
the coach wants him to
play I much preferred uh the Red Wings I
much preferred John Tado and the Flyers
that’s not what we got the truth
is the parody is wild right like I mean
any one of those teams on either side of
the bracket could win the cup so the
once I saw sat down started doing my
bracket I realized how difficult it was
it was like it’s it’s so hard I’m still
not even 100% sure if I have a couple of
these locked in but uh anyways we’ll get
after it here we’re going to share what
we have at the very end uh a friendly
reminder I should have said this off the
top you guys arew aware now anyways I
think but a link inside the description

last year we will admit it’s very tough
it is extremely tough uh I am sticking
with h a Stanley Cup spoiler alert but
I’m sticking with the finals that I had
uh months ago so you guys are well aware
of what I got but that doesn’t mean that
we’re going to get it um but yeah sign

until
Monday to lock in your picks even though
the Stanley Cup finals do get or the
playoffs get underway on Saturday so
let’s officially get underway here as
well and we’ll start with the president
trophy New York Rangers uh in 1994 the
Rangers won the President’s Trophy and
they won the Stanley Cup so I don’t know
if you believe in in things like that
but uh we haven’t seen too many
president’s Trophy winners have success
we talked about it on dangle batelli I
think earlier this week about the the
recent success or lack thereof when it
comes to president’s Trophy winners in
the NHL um so just looking at the last
few years before we tee this one up uh I
think yeah the last one two three four
five six s eight president Trophy
winners dating back to 2015 2016 they
have all been bounced at least in the
second round last year we saw the Bruins
get upset in the first round and the
Tampa Bay Lightning in 20189 in the
first round don’t see an upset here uh I
think the Rangers have played an amazing
brand of hockey all year long 114 points
55 wins as you see there and massive
favorites to beat the capitals minus 450
according to DraftKings and Washington
checking in at plus 340 this season
series was tied at two games a piece uh
the home team won all four games and
there weren’t a lot of offense there
wasn’t a lot of offense rather nine
goals on each side so the Rangers scored
nine and the capitals scored nine when
you look at the team leaders
individually panan 49 goals Cryder
39 oetkin 31 stro 27 panan 120 points
troch 77 cder 77 as I said earlier stro
LED this team with 67 points John
Carlson was third with just 52 uh the
Rangers had 15 more wins and 23 more
points than Washington but this still
wouldn’t be one of the biggest upsets of
all time I remember the Caps were
president’s Trophy winners even before
2015 when they played the Habs in the
first round I think they had like 30
plus more points in them so we’ve seen
bigger upsets the Rangers though a
league best 311 and0 at home nobody had
30 wins just New York at home mentioned
the goal differential plus 53 for the
Rangers negative 37 for Washington the
capitals 18 Road wins tied for the
lowest among all of the playoff teams
the ERS in the golden knights in there
um and then Washington last in goals per
game among playoff teams at 2.63 the
Rangers check in with a third best power
play and the third best penalty kill so
this a this is a big mismatch it really
is I don’t expect to see a lot of
offense uh just shurin solid lingren has
been playing great it’s just the the
style that Washington plays as well uh
but the the Rangers are just I think
they’re too strong I think their bottom
six is stronger I think they’re stronger
between the pipes uh I do believe that
this will be a low-scoring series and
I’m going to say that the Rangers
probably take care of the Capitals in
five maybe six uh I believe in my
bracket I have I have Capitals winning
two games but it is interesting to see
like he Washington kind of hung around
with them in in all of the four games
that they played all the home teams won
but ultimately when it gets comes down
to the Special Teams and then justking
between the pipes and the game changers
that the Rangers have right in paner the
break campaign from La forier La forer
so I I’m with New York here I just don’t
see an upset do
you no I’m I’m definitely with New York
I’ve been on New York all year liette
has these guys playing a really cool you
know kind of
uptempo fast aggressive style I love um
he seems to kind of wear out his walkom
pretty quick this is like his fourth
team in I know six seven years um but
he’s got him playing great that power
play when it’s on it’s deadly uh I got a
feeling that Washington’s going to be
chasing them taking penalties uh and
it’s going to come down look it always
comes down to goal tending you know like
I agree with you that the goal tending
on the New York side as a team is better
but lingren has been unbelievable he’s
getting his his due but I don’t think
he’s getting enough he’s the reason
they’re here period the end there
is oetkin came on at the end but at that
point even scoring those gos goals you I
mean like he needed to be doing that
because that’s what he gets paid to do
but at the same time like they’re not
even remotely close with without lingren
doing what he did so um hats off to him
you know um new coach there I like him
there’s some players on on the capitals
that I really like but I think this is
over pretty quick I think this is the
only series I had four games four games
okay so um I mean there’s some pretty
good odds on DraftKings if you feel like
like series correct score series total
games things like that so uh like for
example just taking a look at DraftKings
right now the Rangers to sweep at 4 to
one um the Rangers in five at plus 250
the Rangers in six at plus 350 so you
see the the price it’s extremely juice
but you can do some parlays I think for
me um probably miss the boat on like a
Rangers and Carolina series parlay
that’s still like that’s minus one 70-
175 it’s pretty steep uh but Rangers on
the series uh minus 190 to win the
series by two the series spread you do
like New York and Carolina so those are
two chalky picks but I don’t expect uh
as we get into the hurricanes and
Islanders here in a second I don’t
expect the Islanders either uh who would
you say leads the series in goals we
have panan at plus 360 lead the series
in goals crder at plus 425 oie at 5 to1
zabat at plus 750 and then laf forier
who I think is a pretty interesting long
shot at 12 to1 to lead the series and
goals who would you guess yeah if I’m in
a bat I’m going to say Chris kryder he’s
been on the score scoring heater for a
couple years now right like I mean 40 I
think last year over 40 last year uh
really good this
year you’re gonna get goals by getting
in front of lingren taking his eyes away
and that’s what crder does you know um
benon I mean obviously I think I read a
St the other day like last year he shot
the puck 450 times and this year he was
close to 700 so
obviously becoming a different player
and becoming a more dangerous player
because he’s not just referring to pass
every single time so I could see that
too but if I was to bet on it I would
bet
Cryer yeah and panan was very quiet
basically invisible in the opening round
last year against the Devils so we’ve
seen a a very different panan this year
he’s plus one I don’t think we’re gonna
see that this year no he’s plus 150 to
lead the series in points and it doesn’t
seem like a great number but I I would
expect him to lead the series in points
he’s been a 120 you know what I mean
like he’s just been all around
absolutely everything FanDuel is
offering um some pretty cool props
series props you know players to get one
goal two goals three goals four goals As
you move up the ladder of course the
odds are going to get better but we both
think that the series could be over
pretty quickly uh so I don’t want to get
too crazy with those goal series Futures
but cder’s Plus 120 for three goals in
the series lafer is plus 340 for three
goals in the series and mik zabad is
plus 200 for three goals in the series
and I think both all three of those
players are very interesting I would
agree with you that krider leads the
series in goals but I think laier is a
decent little long shot at 12 to one uh
and I like panan at plus 150 series and
goals so we’re both on the Rangers and
we think it’ll end pretty quickly for
the Washington Capitals
all right New York and Carolina in here
next uh another lopsided Affair the
Hurricanes check in at minus 340 to win
the series over at DraftKings 111 points
this season 5223 and 7 really took off
at the trade deadline when they acquired
Jake gensel and ofy kets off two players
who have Stanley Cup experience and
Stanley Cups on their resume the
Islanders man they had some moments as
well when they they made the coaching
change with Patrick W and then they
played awful for a couple of weeks and
then down the stretch they’ve been
fantastic right when they’ve needed to
win games they’ve won them uh they get
into the playoffs with 94 points 39 wins
and they’re plus 280 to win the series
season series tied just like the Rangers
and the Washington Capitals 22 was the
series but surprisingly when I was
looking at the numbers Eric a lot of
goals there were 30 goals in the four
games Carolina a 43 win overtime win
right that surprised you too Islanders a
54 overtime win Islanders a 54 win
against Carolina and then Carolina 4-1
win in the last meeting between these
two teams AO led the team in goals no
surprise 36 T Jarvis 33 gensel time in
Pittsburgh but 30 AO leads the team in
points with 89 gensel at 77 and Jarvis
at 67 that’s the line that’s the line
that’s been together basically since
they Acquired gensel and they’ve been
checking a lot of boxes there uh the PS
did have three 30- goal scorers Brock
Nelson at 34 Bo horad at 33 and Paul Mar
at 30 and barzell led the team with 80
points the Hurricanes 2710 and four at
home second most wins in the East behind
the Rangers the goal differential a lot
like Washington and New York plus 63 for
Carolina and negative 17 for the
Islanders uh the road team won all four
games in this series unlike the
Washington in the Rangers matchups
Carolina the third fewest goals allowed
in the NHL and the Islanders uh only
Washington had fewer goals scored out of
all of the playoff teams the Carolina
Hurricanes have the second best power
play and the best penalty kill and the
Islanders have the worst penalty kill in
the NHL so there’s a big mismatch here
when it comes to special teams uh how do
you see that this series ends up and do
you feel like much like the first one we
talked about will be over pretty quickly
here are you giving the yits a little
bit of respect I mean a little bit um I
think the canes win this but again it’s
going to be broken record
time I would I I’m really good friends
with a guy that Liv in Carolina I was in
Carolina last weekend
wrestling we had a long deep discussion
about Frederick
Anderson and he feels he feels like I do
and I think a lot of Kane’s fans do is
we’ve seen him be dominant in the
regular season we’ve seen him do
it 10 15 times in his in his career
whatever he’s been doing it a long time
but what else we’ve saw is him crumbling
in the playoffs did it with the Leafs
did it with Anaheim did it with the
canes so that’s the guy for them right
he’s played unbelievable hockey over the
last couple months I mean really really
good
hockey if you can continue that canes
are going to be difficult the the
addition of Gil is exactly what this
team needed a guy that can just kind of
get the puck and shoot it put it in they
don’t have to work themselves to the
Bone for every single goal um but
again do you trust Frederick Anderson on
the island side who’s it gonna be is it
gonna be V
vov soken is the starter I think there’s
no doubt there but V the guy playing
he’s been the guy he’s been the starter
that’s what I that’s what I wanted to
talk to you about with both of these
teams so like Carolina has gone uh kotov
to to Anderson they just been doing that
forever I feel like since Anderson’s
been back they’ve been going goalie for
goalie do do they do that I don’t know I
don’t think maybe like Anderson for the
experience gets the game one I’d be
shocked if all of a sudden bro bmore is
all right like game two unless they lost
but Patrick W has been you’re dead on
Patrick W has been riding varlam off
like he played soken in a meaningless
game against the Penguins in the last
regular season game varlamov has I’m
looking at his numbers like this guy’s
been awesome won five straight yeah he
let in one goal against the Islanders he
let in two against the Habs two against
the Rangers he had the 41 save Shadow
against your PRS uh and he’s won five
straight hockey games so he to me is the
game one starter here I think we’re
going to see both goalies but that is
like a surprising development I think
when it comes to the Islanders because
when I think of them I’m like ah they
don’t score a lot of goals have a couple
nice players inside the top six special
teams hasn’t been good in years uh and
sook’s going to keep them in it as long
as he can uh and now it’s varo so I
think we could see as many as four
different goalies in this series Eric
yeah yeah easily um and the VL mon thing
is don’t forget when when Patrick W won
the coach of the year that was his
goalie it was yeah in Colorado so
there’s a connection there maybe it’s
the style of defensive structure and
defensive play voff style lend it I’m
not smart enough to know that um I did
read a thing I can’t think of it
he’s like the goalie guy and he said
that soken is trying to adapt his play
how wall wants him to play he wants him
to play a little bit deeper in his net
um and he’s not used to that and ver is
so I think it’s probably a lot to do
with that um but yeah it’s an
interesting situation I think if I’m you
know casting my vote and I am and I’ve
got a bracket and I’ll be putting it up
online so everyone can make fun of me
when the entire thing is wrong um but
yeah I’m going to go Carolina just
because I’ve been harping on them for
years that they have to be aggressive
and go after like the K Jewel at free
agency and they finally did
it whether it’s going to work out or
it’s right that time will tell but at
least they’re showing me that they know
that that window is just not open
forever and they need to they need to
win and really do something this year to
keep this group together
really right there’s a a couple teams
like that and Carolina is most
definitely yeah I would agree so
prediction on how many games you like
Carolina to win how many games you think
I like I think Carolina and
six that’s where I’m at too I give the
Islanders a couple based on goal tending
based on the fact that Carolina will
always make you sweat right the goals
will dry up they’ll have a game or two
in this series where they have 60 shots
uh and they lose like 2-1 like that’s
that’s going to happen and the these two
teams have played each other a lot over
over the past couple years and the
Islanders kind surprised they’ve hung
around with them a little bit um there’s
this special on
DraftKings that’s uh like 45 saves for a
goalie I think vlof and sokin are up
there it’s tough because we just talked
about the goal tending situation we both
think that it’s going to be varlamov
who’s going to start but we also both
think that there’s a real possibility
that we could see soken in this series
as well but the way that the Carolina
Hurricanes generate offense the among
the leaders in shot attempts in the past
three or four seasons at five and five
uh they’re a team that can really come
at you and they like to shoot from all
angles so I do believe like and
especially with with potential low
scoring series again uh we could see
lengthy overtime so I think that special
on DraftKings if you are a DraftKings
user for varlamov to have like a game at
45 plus saves uh is is very very
interesting it’s it’s Carolina series
spread is minus 155 the Rangers minus
190 that’s a lot so Carol I’m going to

say Carolina 1.5 series spread uh to win
basically in six at least um here minus
155 that’s over at DraftKings and if you
wanted to Parlay uh series spread with
the hurricanes and the Rangers uh that
checks in at plus 151 over at draftking
so that is a parlay that I like I kind
of like that a little bit better than
than the juice at like minus 180 for
those two teams to win win but I do
expect the Rangers and the Hurricanes to
win all right um goal scorer leaders or
most goals in the series rather
DraftKings AO 5 to1 gensel 6 to1 barzel
7 to1 Horvat 7 to1 Seth Jarvis 8 to1
Brock Nelson 8 to1 and Paul Mary at 9
to1 some longer shots here like uh
sveshnikov at 12 to1 too terrain at 22
to1 NES at 11 I don’t think we need to
get too crazy with anybody else here uh
Jordan martinook is a guy that I
actually play in DFS come playoff
he’s like super cheap and these guys
just pop up sometimes in the Hurricane’s
box score uh and fgh kets out 51 so who
do you think’s gonna lead the series in
goals who do you think is gonna lead the
series in points yeah I think uh gensel
in in goals um I think Horvat shows up
for the Islanders in a big way that’s a
gut feeling more than anything but he’s
just like one of those types of guys
it’s they’re going to get the playoffs
and he’s just gonna he’s just going to
start tearing it up uh
Paul Mary’s been sneaky good for the
last couple months like has sneaky
sneaky good fire in the puck playing the
good players and um was a very important
piece for the Islanders an unsung
important piece especially for their
offense yeah if I’m gonna vote I’m gonna
say he’s gonna be
gensel yeah I’m gonna go gensel too six
to1 to lead the series in goals at
FanDuel he is plus 120 to have three
goals in the series so that’s one that I
like as well all right let’s move right
along long let’s go to Boston and
Toronto this is what we’re here for this
is what everybody is waiting this is
what we thought would happen uh you know
I think some Leaf fans always say I’m
just sick of it because I just I’ve
known since November that Toronto is
gonna play Boston or they’re gonna play
Florida but anyways here we are uh with
these two teams again uh meeting for the
fourth time in about 10 years and Boston
won all four games against the Leafs
this season they’ve won seven straight
against them dating back to uh last year
and all of those playoff matchups as
well uh the last three have gone to
seven games so they’ve been all fairly
fairly close uh even though Boston won
the season series 4 nothing uh the first
two games were in overtime a 3-2
shootout win from Boston then a 4-3 win
in Toronto for the Bruins but the last
two came in March and they came in like
a three-day span and Boston won both of
those games 4 to1 so scored them 15 to7
the power play was operating at 30% the
leaf set sub 10 um David Pak led the
team in goals at 40 with 47 then a big
drop off after that Marian Coy sub30 of
course Matthews there with 69 tried to
get to 70 William NE has been quiet
lately but he did score 40 goals Pak led
the team with 110 points and then again
that drop off with Marian at 67 and
Matthews 107 points neander 98 Mitch
Marner missed some time but still ended
up with 85
um so the the Leafs can score right I
mean they’re second in the NHL and goals
uh per game the the Leaf’s penalty kill
is is not great it’s a it’s bottom 10 in
the league Boston has a top 10 penalty
kill
um I don’t think that the Bruins tanked
I joined Hustler on Winnipeg radio
yesterday and he asked me if he thought
that the Bruins tanked I don’t think
that they tanked it’s just they try when
you can get first overall and home ICE
Advantage you go for that it’s just
nobody’s tanking to to face the the
charal Maple Leafs just because they’ve
had troubles getting out of the first
round that’s just my take on it uh but
you’re the Leafs guy you’ve watched this
team uh basically all year along you’ve
see him pretty much every every shift so
do they have what it takes to finally
get past the baros and Bruins what do
you think I mean they definitely have
the pieces right and I don’t know if
that’s ever been the question is is do
they have the determination right and
it’s you know what how Boston’s going to
be with these guys every time Matthews
or neander or Marner or Taris touches
the puck they’re going to be all over
him slashing them and pushing them and
bumping them and it’s just the way it
goes and it it’s not a surprise to trono
they know that’s coming and what we need
is is some push back from them those
guys and the guys around them to be
doing the same thing thing to Pastor
knck you know like
um they need to bully him every time he
has the puck and make his life difficult
so uh it’s a really cool matchup I like
that they’re playing again right like if
they got into a series and they didn’t
beat Boston on the way to to actually
doing something and that everyone would
say well they couldn’t have beat Boston
if they played Boston so Toronto Boston
classic
matchup Boston is Toronto’s Boogyman
there’s no out about it and this is a
super compelling series very even series
I mean I think that Boston for sure has
it in the gold tending Department like
samsonov is anyone sure about him wall
is anyone sure about him Martin Jones
are we even talking about that right
like no allmark and San aren’t what they
were at the start of the year right they
definitely faltered I would say San is
probably the number one I was kind of
taking over for
allar so it be interesting you know it’
be inter I think blue lines are around
the same Boston’s blue line is not what
it was um Toronto’s banged up but they
do have a bunch of depth they got big
mean guys back there that can make
things life difficult and that’s part of
playoff hockey so this is a super
compelling
series homerism or not I think the M
beliefs are a better team they’re
certainly better down the middle I think
they’re they’re they’re just a deeper
team skill-wise for sure and by adding
you know leushin and Edmonson and these
guys none of those guys are going to
bail you out when you need goals but it
becomes a different game whether people
like it or not and if you don’t have big
mean guys standing in front of your net
making life difficult it it can go go
really quick so this is gonna be a great
series I’m gonna say I’m gonna say seven
games I say Matthews continues this he
leads uh the series and goals and uh
just can’t wait watch this yeah he is
favored to lead the series in goals at
plus 190 over DraftKings P neck at 2 to1
William elander at 9 to1 Marian 19 it’s
a really good value there because Passa
and Matthews are up at the top so even a
guy like Willie he’s been the playoff
performer for this team over the he big
time last season so like that’s those
are good odds you know a little little
bit of sprinkle and something like that
you know he hasn’t been you know kind of
is dominant the last few weeks but and
that’s why there’s value here and he’s
not gonna he’s gonna get the quote
unquote easier matchups let’s be honest
every time Matthew hops over the board
Charlie Coyle is gonna hop over the
boards um and and probably or not just
Charlie Coyle but uh makoy uh more so uh
but I would say that Coyle and Marian is
they’re G to be the that’s going to be
the match up that the Bruins Montgomery
want uh for for Boston against Matthews
so I think neander at 9 to1 is extremely
interesting to to lead this series in
goals I think even like Jake de Brusque
at 30 to1 or Charlie Coy at 30 to1 just
like small sprinkles on this I I agree I
think this series is g to be fantastic
um I’m not I’m not a Leafs hater I’m not
I I do feel like it’s really T it’s it’s
really tough to to back this team it
just is man the the physicality that you
talked about the the goal tending um The
Experience on the other side with with
Boston
um the fact that if this series could go
seven games like if the Leafs are going
to win this they got to get it they got
to get it done in six I just don’t have
any confidence in this team to win a
seventh game when it matters in Boston
uh of all places as well we just we’ve
seen this story before uh but I am with
you I think that the Leafs are going to
pull this off uh I think they’re going
to pull it off in six I think that they
uh caught a break avoiding the boss
Florida Panthers I think that they’re
much more complete than Boston they have
a special two-way Center shutdown Center
and Alexander barkov the Bruins don’t
have that uh you mentioned it they’re
not as deep down the middle without
berson Coy and Zack have had great
Seasons but the Leafs are deeper down
the middle with Tas with Matthews with
the addition of DOI we’ll see how the
line shape up but uh I do like Toronto
to win in six uh I think it’s going to
be highly highly entertaining and I
think FanDuel has some pretty decent
odds here shout out our guy Adam
shimansky for for bringing this up to me
William neander is plus one 75 to score
three goals in the series uh and John
TOA uh just to score two goals in the
series is uh minus 150 so that one’s a
little bit steeper but I like the three
because I think we’ll see six or seven
games and the way that the goal tending
has gone on both sides especially with
the Leafs I think we could see some wide
open hockey into this series so there’s
a lot of players on FanDuel uh Tyler
puszi plus 370 for three goals um Brad
Maran plus 27 for three goals Marner
scored lately he’s plus 290 for three
goals but I really do like the William
neander one at plus 175 and I think at
nine to1 to lead the series in goals is
fairly interesting here let’s uh wrap up
the East with an all Florida matchup the
Panthers and the lightning and that’s
the thing too like maybe Boston is
thinking okay I don’t want Tampa Bay uh
but like the constellation priz is
Toronto you’re not going to get an easy
matchup here uh but we have seen a
little bit of line Movement by the way
the Leafs are Plus 105 uh to win the
series so slight dogs there and we both
like them uh to get into the second
round this one here we have seen a
little bit of line movement I did see uh
minus 160 for Florida earlier now minus
170 and Tampa checking it at plus
145 uh to win the series this one again
should be highly highly entertaining uh
the season series matchup was 2-1
Florida the Panthers scored 15 goals in
those three games including a nine to2
Beatdown in Tampa Bay and VES vasileski
was between the pipes in that game
Reinhardt led the team in goals with 57
uh and he also led the team in points
with 94 Braden point with 46 COV with 44
and Stam Coast with 40 and of course COV
your art Ross winner with 144 points
Florida’s 26 wins on the road the most
in the East tide with Dallas 200 goals
allowed in the NHL the fewest that’s it
the Florida pants you view them as a
high-powered offensive Squad and they
are but this team allowed fewer goals
than any other team in the NHL plus 68
League best goal differential Tampa uh
fifth in goals per game Florida 11th so
still high but not inside the top five
which we used to see them over the past
couple years the lightning check in with
the best power play in the NHL both
teams top six penalty kills so uh
there’s a lot to like of both of these
squads we both like the Florida Panthers
I think this is a tough matchup of
course I mean you got two lines that can
score in Tampa Bay and you got vasileski
between the pipes as well where are you
leaning between Tampa Bay and Florida to
win this series yeah I’m leaving Florida
but I mean and don’t let Tampa sneak up
on you right like they’re they just kind
of quietly went about their business
chugging along a couple lws here and
there obviously no vasileski to start
the year
and I mean even when he came back he
didn’t seem right think he I feel like
he’s mostly been veleski the last month
or so so that’s not good news for
Florida but I do love Florida I I think
they win this series I think this is
seven though I think that both teams
kick and scream and Claw and Slash and
just basically smash each other in this
series it’s going to be unbelievable um
I love the way Florida plays it’s just
high pressure aggressiveness all over
the ice you know if you watch players
like they get frustrated and they just
they feel like they don’t have time with
the puck and there’s always two guys on
the puck and it’s it’s a very very
difficult style to play because it’s
exhausting also you have to have you
know everyone on the team has to be able
to skate right like you know one guy
that isn’t quick enough you can’t pinch
in like that and then come back and get
back in the structure I think the goal
differential proves that this team is
made to play that way you know it’s it’s
been curated to play This Way
um it’s going to be a great series it’s
going to be a great series Reinhardt you
know a guy we’ve been talking about
forever you know almost 60 goals this
year uh tons on the power play the power
play is
lethal if I’m gonna go with a goal
scorer I’m gonna say him but it wouldn’t
surprise me if it’s Matthew kachuck
right like he’s just one of those style
of players that when he needs to go he’s
going to go and he’s uh
just love watching him play I’m glad I
don’t have to play against him but I
love
watching so I I miss spoke it’s 199
goals Allowed by Winnipeg but 200 by
Florida so the best in the East but both
of those teams right there right uh and
heluk is going to win vzna and he’s not
going to get consideration for the heart
even though he probably should it’s just
one of those special Seasons from a lot
of really good players in the NHL SE for
this series to go seven games is plus
200 over at DraftKings I think that’s an
interesting pick as well uh I am with
you I think that it will go the distance
I think the biggest thing for me and
when you look at all the teams on like
that we just ran through like this is
probably the best odds for a team like
Tampa you can get them at plus 145 to
win a series like with veski between the
pipes and uh COV who led the team in
points and Stam coast and all these guys
have so much playoff experience uh it
does seem like the best value on the
board but this is a Florida Panthers
show we’ve been riding them uh for a
long time uh we we talked about buying
low in December 18 to1 to win the
Stanley Cup they’re now like 8 to1 to
win the cup we got the future on the uh
this week for them to win the Atlantic
division we’re we’re big on the Florida
Panthers so I think that they’re going
to win this series uh I do believe it
will go seven uh I think that there is
terrific value you said it uh Matthew
kachu is 10 to1 the lead the series in
goals covs four to1 reinhardt’s four to
one uh Braden points 4 to1 Sam Coast 9
to1 but the two guys that I’m looking at
carder haggy at 9 to1 and Matthew kachu
at 10 to one I I specifically like bragi
more because he’s the shooter sometimes
we see kachu go through these moments
where he shoots a lot and he had a
terrific run last year in the playoffs
but he’s also a very underrated
playmaker uh and so carder heggy is the
shooter he’s found himself on that top
power play at this time last year he
wasn’t on that first power play uh so I
think at nine to one for him some longer
shots like Tera senko at 25 to1 maybe
Anthony declair F A Revenge spot for him
at 25 to1 as well uh just looking over
so what do you have for this you got
Florida and
seven yeah Florida and
seven okay Florida and seven I’m with
you on Florida and seven and over at
FanDuel for the three goals and just
this is just really good odds uh even
though it’s vasileski he hasn’t looked
like vintage vasileski like there’s been
moments but he hasn’t been like rock
solid uh between the pipes uh over at
FanDuel cariv plus 420 for three goals
Braden point plus 300 for four goals
Matthew kachuck plus 500 for three goals
declare 19 to one like I think this is
going to be as much as I said Florida
200 goals allowed I think we’re going to
see offense in this game in this series
and if it goes six or seven we could see
as many as five or six different players
have three or four goals in this series
so I think there’s terrific value on
FanDuel even Reinhardt is plus 280 just
came shy of 60 goals this year plus 280
three goals come on really good value
we’ll have a few picks of my favorite
ones in the article let’s get over to
the Western Conference let’s start here
with probably the series uh of the
playoffs the Dallas Stars and the Vegas
golden knights oh I can’t believe we’re
going to see this uh this is a rematch
of the Western Conference Finals from
last year Dallas uh with 113 points they
get the top spot Vagas 98 points uh
Vagas went all three matchups against
Dallas this year uh they scored 11 goals
and Dallas only had four uh most of
those games came early in these in the
season series I’ll say that they haven’t
played each other since December 9th so
I saw Bruce Cassidy I heard him talk
about it last night that they haven’t
played Dallas since early on in the
season but they expect him to play the
exact same way and the exact same style
uh Dallas 26 wins on the road tied with
Florida eight 20 goal scores eight 20
goal scores uh they were third and goals
per game Vegas middle of the pack the
Dallas Stars had the sixth best power
play and the eighth best penalty kill
and the golden knights were in the
middle of the pack as well in terms of
penalty kill percentage it’s tough to
look at their numbers overall because
Mark Stone missed time Jack geel missed
time uh they just got Thomas hurdle so
there’s you know their numbers are a
little bit lower than you know Maro led
the team in points at 69 eel 67 Carlson
59 Robertson led the team in points with
just 80 but they just had balance across
the board pavelski 67 to Shane 65 they
had a lot of 60-point players on the
squad this year and it was the
20-year-old kid Wyatt Johnson who led
the team in goals so the Stars check in
at minus 130 and Vegas checks in at plus
110 man just this is gonna be awesome
where are you
leaning yeah uh I am leaning Dallas but
it it’s hard man like they’re a very
deep team but what we all have to
remember is Mark Stone comes back they
acquired Thomas herdle they acquired
Noah Hanahan I don’t know if you’ve
heard any news on P Pedro Angelo but I
imagine he plays too like probably gonna
be fine he’s just gonna slide off the
injured list for game one with stone
right you know and even if he doesn’t
they’re still deep and if he does like
they have
Superstars Superstar players like
throughout the lineup not to mention
Marsh soul Who’s one of my favorite
players in the NHL to watch I mean he’s
just so good and he competes right like
that’s how he ended up in this place he
doesn’t do anything specifically well I
mean that’s a wrong thing to say I mean
NHL standards he does them all well but
he’s not a superstar shooter a superstar
skater isn’t a big guy isn’t a super
powerful guy he’s just just it’s will
right it’s just he wants to be
good yeah and if he can he wants to be
the best I don’t know if he has a
physical tools to be the best but man
he’s just a guy that I would want on my
team and having one of his best
statistical years ever so and and you
laid out the you know the Dallas thing
perfectly
it’s 20 goal scorers all over the place
a rookie is their top scorer like that
line Jamie Ben looks like Jamie Ben from
six years ago so it’s uh it’s it’s it’s
both sad and awesome Jeff Maro always
says no I want the best teams to play in
the first round when they’re
healthy I would say this they’re
certainly not going to get more healthy
playing in playoffs and the way it is
nobody’s healthy right now they just
played 82 games right they’ve been
playing full town full contact hockey
for seven months right the guys are
banged up
so it’s uh Vegas is doing nothing
illegal they’re they’re playing to the
rules of of the law smart rules of the
league it’s just fortuitous timing like
the NHL checks these things if he didn’t
have a lacerated spleen I don’t even
know what that is or how you even get it
I know that was Yakov trenin is the guy
that hit him pretty sure he’s a big guy
but I don’t know how you get a cut on
your spleen from getting hit
I don’t know and it’s a significant
injury and the timing of it is suspect
because last year at this time he was
you know available after missing but NHL
doctors check on the legitimacy they’re
not just like oh we’ll just take your
word for it it’s there too much there’s
billions of dollars on the line they
have exactly he has to go to an NHL
inspected doctor to be sure that he is
actually hurt and that’s a significant
injury too uh it just hey I I don’t
think any body saw the hurdle thing
coming and I don’t think Vegas was
thinking about it either but hey when
they got a guy like Mark Stone on
longterm IR that frees up a lot of cash
and they’re able to do that um anyways
yeah why Johnson rupe hints Jason
Robertson Joe pavelski Matt du Shane
Tyler Sagan Mason Marchman Jamie Ben
those are all guys that scored at least
20 goals this season for the Dallas
Stars Thomas Harley’s defenseman scored
15 for the Dallas Stars and all of those
players that I mentioned most of them
anyways with 60 points highkin and
Marchman uh and Tyler s all 50 50 plus
points so I’m gonna stick with Dallas
they’ve been my team since the start
they were my team before the season
started to win the Stanley Cup I know
that I was riding them last year as well
and it didn’t work out but I thought
that they held their own against Vagas
what I’m gonna say this year and it may
not make sense because we just talked
about how last year similar things
happened with the golden knights but um
they’ve been pretty inconsistent over
the last month right they’ve lost to
pretty bad teams including last night
Aiden Hill has been hurt I don’t think
he’s like in the same form at this
moment like he was last year uh so he
missed a lot of time and the starts are
just clicking they are just they’ve been
playing a great brand for a long time
here in the second half of the Season as
we’ve said so many times they can come
at you with three different lines they
can play any different style that they
want to they can play in-your-face
physical they can go up and down the ice
and score goals uh they’re deep on the
blue line with the addition of tanov uh
and I think tinger as long as he’s just
slightly above average he is good enough
to uh hold their own hold Dallas and win
those tight checking games as well so
it’s tough It’s going to be fantastic to
watch uh I did not as a guy that want
has Dallas Futures didn’t want to see
this at all one bit I think that this is
the one team for sure I didn’t want
Dallas to play uh it is what it is I’m G
to lean with the team that is healthier
at the moment and there could be some
there just could be something there with
Vegas you know Stone hasn’t played in a
long time hurdle’s just new to the team
some injuries and then Aiden Hills so uh
I got to go in seven though I got to go
in the distance what’s your
prediction I’ve got uh I’ve got Dallas
and six and six okay all right we’re
both on the Stars not seeing any goal
leaders or series leaders or points but
you guys know why Johnson for me I you
know he’s not going to be favored it’s
gonna be Robertson up at the top it’s
gonna be eel up at the top Mar so um
probably hints all those guys but why
Johnson I think there’s going to be good
value on him to potentially lead the
series in goals uh and last year in the
playoffs he was first and expected goals
at five and five even though hence was
the guy who popped off should be
fantastic man um okay let’s stick inside
what is a very tough part of the bracket
uh and Winnipeg and Colorado here the
Jets actually had more points than the
Colorado Avalanche and they’re the
higher seed but it’s the AVS who check
in as favorites at minus 135 the Jets at
plus 115 the Jets won all three matchups
against Colorado this season they scored
15 goals in the only allowed four
including a beat down just a few days
ago a seven nothing victory in Colorado
uh so we did see another game earlier in
the season where the Jets won 62 so
they’ve actually had their way with the
Colorado Avalanche this season the ABS
first and goals per game the Jets 15th
Colorado top five power play the Jets a
bottom 10 power play and the ABS a
slightly better penalty kill so you look
at some of those numbers you see the ABS
oh wow like much better team but there’s
one thing here
in this series that I want to talk about
and I’ll save it for a second but abs
and jets man tough another tough one to
call and this one should be really good
and I got you fired up I think on
Thursday’s episode when I said Adam
Lowry he’s gonna be the guy to try to
shut down Nathan McKennon that’s going
to be a fantastic matchup to watch and I
think it’s going to be an advantage for
the Jets because I think that they’re a
little bit deeper than the ABS and it’s
going to create opportunities for a guy
Kyle Connor Mark shley valard even the
second line with monah and the fact that
you could just that’s what the Jets want
to do they want to imagine that they
want to roll out their third line when
Nathan McKennon is on the ice for the
Colorado Avalanche and I actually like
that match up a little bit for the
Winnipeg Jets so how do you break this
one down yeah I mean very similar to you
um look at the Jets have had a great
season halbeck has had an unbelievable
season um the only part of the Avalanche
that worries me is gor
and you know it’s these great teams the
goal tending doesn’t even have to be
superb right it just they just have to
get a save here and there um I think
that Colorado could probably score with
anyone Nathan McKinnon is a mega Star
right they got guys on the periphery
like nushin like lean drewan having an
unbelievable season you know rantman
don’t know what the word is on Landis
Cog I don’t you know like I may never
play again which is wild right it’s just
is wild like missing their
Captain he’s yeah huge when they won the
cup two years ago absolutely y so that’s
a tough break for
them um they filled in best they could
getting guys like Colton and stuff like
that but I I I think that you’re right
that Winnipeg is a deeper team
um playing against someone like Adam
Lowry in a bunch of games in a row is
going to be tough right we’re gonna find
out what Nathan McKinnon’s made of he’s
a tough player he’s a good player he can
skate and he’s a huge body you know
Lowry he’s a big guy first year being
the captain you know he’s gonna take it
upon himself to shut him down his best
his ability that’s what he gets paid for
that’s what they’re going to ask him to
do that’s easier said than done I still
think that the Avan win this I think
they win it in six um but broken record
time again it comes down to goal tending
undoubtedly the winipeg Jets are better
in goal
undoubtedly yeah but can they keep Pace
with the Colorado a I don’t know so just
when you say undoubtedly just give me a
second to read off these numbers for you
so five and five numbers from natural
satri among goalies with 1500 minutes of
ice time Conor huk five and five sa
percentage number one 935 High danger
save percentage 849 number five high
danger that’s chances inside the slot
where most of the goals happen uh goal
saved above average 3.85 number one gorv
a 909 sa percent it’s 28th 28th in the
NHL 804 High danger save percentage 32nd
a negative 6.42 goal saved above average
32nd over the last month for gorv the
numbers are even worse an 884 sa
percentage as 73 36 High danger save
percentage a negative 5.35 goal saved
above average second worst in the NHL
he’s allowed four plus goals and like
six of his last eight I think he is the
reason the ABS lose this series I really
do believe that it’s just there’s a
massive difference here between the two
goalies uh I hot goalie not even just a
hot goalie uh a goalie like hellu can
not only steal you a series he can steal
you a couple we’ve seen this before in
the NHL with lesser teams I like the
additions of mon and to Foley I think
they have some experience and I think
the Lowry factor is huge if this series
was starting Colorado I don’t want to
look into that seven nothing beat down
too much but the ABS wanted that game
they were Full Tilt at home home I was
on the on the line it was everything for
them and the fact that this series is
going to start in Winnipeg I think
that’s a huge benefit for the Jets the
game seven could be in Winnipeg so they
have the edge in goaling uh and they
have a guy like Adam Lowry and believe
it or not like Lowry like say what you
want like Lowry like this guy is a shut
down Center he plays hard he plays
physical he’s fast he’s good in the
circle uh I I like the Jets here and
they’ve handled the ABS all year long
and I I think the with Co with for me
with Colorado it’s gorev and it’s still
the same things Eric why we didn’t like
them to make a run last year is they
they still haven’t really replaced Cadre
they didn’t have a strong second line
Center last year and I casy Middle’s a
nice player but I don’t think he’s ready
for the moment I think Winnipeg is much
deeper and More Physical down the middle
of the ice so I am going to leave he has
even played in the playoffs right no
zero games this is going to be a
different animal for him um so yeah I’m
in on the Jets we can get them I think
that they should be favored I think it’s
a Mis hon change my V but I’ll leave it
plus 115 you want to go he went through
he went through the goalie stuff and
it’s just it’s it there’s just no way
and I I think we’re going to see ottoman
I think yorg has been that bad that we
are going to see at some point and we
probably should because his numbers are
it’s night and day between the two he
has been fantastic for the ABS and I
just don’t think like bedar is not going
to be able to start the guy right away
but hey maybe we see him game three and
that turns the series around if you
remember Hobs fans Montreal was up two
nothing against Carolina and then this
guy named cam Ward just came out of
nowhere started game three in the rest
history right so I think that’s
something that we could see in the
series but it could be too late if the
Jets win the first two at home of course
McKennon is favored across the board but
I think that there is actually some
pretty good value because of what we
just talked about with the goaling your
boy Kyle Conor is six to1 the lead of
the series and goals T Foley is 15 to1
the lead of the series and goals and
valard is 18 to1 the Ser lead the series
in goals and over at FanDuel you can get
Connor for plus 230 for three goals and
Gabe valard at plus 650 for two three
goals and Tyler to folley at seven to
one for three goals as well I think that
the Jets will have some success against
gor have two more series to break down
we’ll get out of here let’s talk about
your PRS dude uh Nashville and
Vancouver uh the Canucks checking at
minus 150 109 points this season the
Predators at plus 130 99 points this
season Vancouver did win all three games
in the season series outscoring uh
Nashville
13-6 uh but something to keep in mind
those games came a long time ago all
three wins for Vancouver before December
20th the Canuck sixth in goals the PRS
top 10 in goals in the NHL uh Vancouver
12th in power play percentage in the PRS
at 16th led by forsberg 94 points yoc 85
Nyquist how about the season from
gustaff Nyquist 75 points forsburg 48
goals this season Ryan O’Reilly a great
Edition 26 Roman Yosi with 23 my
goodness should definitely get the
Norris I agree with you probably won’t
get it but he should Miller leads to
team in points 103 Hughes 92 and 89 for
the Canucks Brock besser has 40 goals
Miller 37 and Elias Patterson 34 this
isn’t an awful matchup for Nashville I
think you can make the case been the
better team over the last two months
than the Vancouver Canucks I want I will
say one thing that has kind of made me
go back and forth with this one still
kind of doing that is that Demco is back
and that’s huge right Demco is the key
for Vancouver they weren’t getting any
goal tending uh when he was
sidelined I’m I’m assuming you like your
PRS and I don’t think it’s a homer pick
man because because they’ve been playing
the they’ve been arguably one of the
best teams in the NHL over the last two
months yeah again Homer pick or not I
believe that they can win I believe that
they will win um most of this has to do
with momentum and Personnel momentum
being the number one thing like look you
you laid it out exactly right like yes
Vancouver beat them but this is when the
PRS were near the bottom of the league I
mean one of the worst starts in the NHL
this year um were in the bottom we were
even writing off we’re like it’s it man
oneline team and they’re not going to do
anything they they trade away atol right
they let Des Shan go like they bring up
these young kids at the end of the year
they make this kind of miraculous run
you’re like okay this is they’re in
rebuild mode right we’re GNA get this
some experience for these young guys and
you know at the end of the year last
year it was basically the Milwaukee
Admirals
playing um well here we are and he’s
pressed all the right buttons and over
the last couple of months this has
statistically been one the best teams in
the
NHL the broken record show you a good
goalie I’ll show you a good team Soros
has been almost unconscious for the last
two and a half months right like compare
his goals against in his say percentage
from then to now it’s two different
goalies it’s two different teams and uh
now they don’t have a ton of experience
but someone like Ryan McDon and Ryan
O’Reilly that’s exactly why they’re
there right they brought them in so
these kids have these Pros to lean on I
don’t think that they even thought they
would be in this position but they have
a real a real path here right there’s no
doubt about
it can they can they just beat this team
and handle them not if they lost would
it surpris me no you know it’s the West
it’s it’s full of killers but I think
that Nashville will win this and I think
they win it in
six nice um I’m I’m I’m still torn I
think I’m leaning Vancouver uh but man
this is uh I I agree with everything
that you just said man um with Nashville
I think you know yo they got the edge
Yosi over Quin Hughes no disrespect
there Soros has been playing pretty good
forsburg is on just another level man
the way that he is playing hockey is is
pretty spectacular and the fact that you
can get Nashville here at plus 130 I
don’t fully believe in the Canucks uh
I’ve said that all year long great story
Rick to coach of the year a lot of
players are having career years you look
at a lot of the the top shooting
percentages in the NHL like a lot of
these Vancouver players are up near the
top so I’m
not could easily win coach of the year
he could too for sure he could too um no
question it should be a fantastic and
maybe and maybe should yeah maybe he
should because yeah the pr were one of
the worst teams in the NHL like in the
first two months of the season I thought
they were going to get a top 10 pick
right uh forsberg at plus 160 to have
three goals in this series
Brock besser plus 450 to have three
goals in this series Conor Garland is
really heated up he’s plus 850 to have
three goals in this series and our guy
nyis is nine to one to have three goals
in this series forsberg is the leader at
plus 300 to lead the series in goals uh
but I think uh a guy like Nyquist at 15
to1 or Brock besser at plus 650 is
certainly worth your time uh leaning
Vancouver right now but um check out the
ftn article maybe I’ll change my mind a
little bit later on but I think the
Canucks May squeak one out but man that
should be another good one as well we’re
going to wrap up here with LA and
Edmonton for the third straight season
these two teams are facing off in the
opening round oh my goodness uh Edmonton
won three of the four meetings of this
season scored 11 goals gave up nine a
couple goals a couple games down the
stretch of the season in March Edmonton
won both of those games 42 and 4-1 but
they did come in Edmonton uh Heyman led
the team in goals of course with 50 four
Dr with 41 uh Trevor Moore led the team
in goals of 31 he had one last night
Kevin FAL at 29 and kempe at 28 so some
balance across the board there uh and
then kempe led the team in points with
74 Leap Frog fiala last night with a
two-point showing kempe uh cop or sorry
copar 70 so Edmonton fourth and goals
Kings middle of the pack Edmonton top
five power play Kings top 12 power play
but the second best penalty kill in the
NHL I would imagine that La went and
acquired Pier Luke de because of this
right because of the the fact that
they’ve been playing Edmonton for the
past couple years they feel like maybe
they can match up with the know and
trying to shut down copar or trying to
shut down McDavid and then having um
Kopitar potentially shut down dry setle
and then having the benefit of the doubt
in the bottom six right like okay we got
Pier Luke de but he’s been playing
fourth line Center they have fiala on
the third line like this king’s team is
actually pretty deep they have four
lines like Pier L the ball on their
fourth bfield on their fourth last night
on their third arson and Doo and Moore
on the second and then kempe and copar
on the first like they do have four good
lines but ultimately what it comes down
to is they were super aggressive getting
Pier Luke de B great yeah that may work
out in a few years but what they should
have been aggressive doing is getting a
goenda cam talet played above his head
in the first half he cooled off
considerably after that and then
watching him last night with the Hawks
like got 12 shots three four goals like
that’s think going to be the reason that
La loses again but I could see this
series going seven games I mean these
two teams are very familiar with each
other the kings are deep but ultimately
Eric as much as I don’t fully believe in
steuart Skinner he’s better than Cam
talet and he’s better than big save Dave
rck if he finds the the net as well yeah
I think Big Dave or big save Dave will
uh he’s been statistically better the
last couple uh couple of weeks for them
um I think Edmonton wins this
um look at it just Conor
McGregor there it is the big comes out
of the fighter Conor mcgreger yeah Conor
McDavid is gonna be possessed you know
he’s gonna be possessed yeah Heyman
having an absolute career year I said it
when he went there last year atol was a
missing piece that this they needed Evan
bushard has figured it out like this
power play if these guys take pales and
they’re chasing McDavid and they’re
chasing it it’s going to be
it’s I think the series will be good but
I think Edmonton handles him pretty well
and I think it literally comes and I
think you’re
you’re dismissing SK steuart Skinner a
little more like I don’t I don’t think
he’s a top 10 you know but he’s been
pretty good for the Edmonton Oilers all
year right and the second half last year
he’s one of the best goers in the NHL so
you’re right I’m probably down I’m a
little sour on him but there’s a gap
between him and cam tet 100% yeah 100%
and I and I don’t think that the Evon
Oilers
need Super superb goal tending I just
think you need to stop one or two more
than the other guy right you have two of
the top five players playing on one team
and I’m not talking about Zack
Heyman unbelievable not I think the
Oilers handle them too uh 67 I’m going
to pick Edmonton I think you know minus
190 is a steep price to pay but maybe
put them into up harlay um with one of
the other favorites there like Carolina
or the Rangers is a way to go they’ve
just had LA’s number uh and at the at
the end of the day the better players on
Edmonton’s side uh in the addition of
eolm over the full course of the Season
we’re seeing it now and the benefits
that it it has having a guy like him
don’t see anything yet at DraftKings and
FanDuel for series prices um you know
these guys are be juice of course
McDavid and and Dr there’s gonna be no
value there maybe consider a guy like
Heyman maybe consider a guy like Kane uh
or kempe what I will say as we wrap up
kempe um you know dating back to the
last two playoff series and the games
that he’s played against the oers in the
regular season he has had his way with
Edmonton a lot a lot of shots a lot of
shot volume if you see anything for like
most shots on goal in the series like
Adrien Kee I think is a as a pretty good
pick there and he’s somebody that I’ll
be tacking in the shot prop game when
these two teams play uh in the open
round here so let’s wrap um we’ll we’ll
we’ll go with you for our brackets uh
things could change I guess I’m going to

I believe Toronto beats both Boston and
Florida to go into the
semi-finals and it goes down to Rangers
and Carolina the Rangers beat Carolina
then the Rangers beat Toronto to play
the Dallas Stars so it’d be Dallas Stars
New York Rangers Stanley Cup Final
Dallas Stars winning it who wins the K
SMI uh if I was to vote I’m going to say
Jak CER Jak CER is a
pretty I have in pencil in as well uh we
have some similar stuff um I have Dallas
and Winnipeg meeting in the second round
I do have Vancouver and Edmonton meeting
in the second round I I think that’s the
way I’m gonna lock it in I’m still a
little back and forth on that Vancouver
Nashville series as I mentioned but
right now Dallas Winnipeg Vancouver and
Edmonton uh over in the East I have
Florida and Toronto and New York and
Carolina I have the Rangers getting out
of that Series against the Hurricanes
like you uh unlike you I have the
Panthers beating up on the Leafs again I
just think that they can bully them I
think they’re just more complete I just
think it’s a very bad matchup for
Toronto uh Florida and New York I have
the Panthers of course you guys know you
didn’t even have to you probably already
stopped watching you already know what I
got uh Dallas and Florida is what I have
in the Stanley Cup finals uh and I have
the Dallas Stars have the Florida
Panthers losing again in the Stanley Cup
finals so Dallas is my team I think that
they’re the deepest team we’ve talked a
lot about them all year if Jake ainger
can just be like close just a little
close to how he was a couple years ago
when they played the flames in the
opening round uh this team is very
dangerous of course all the matchups are
tough uh but facing Vegas if they can
get by the golden knights uh maybe they
could be on their way and I’ll tell you
what for us that have Dallas Stars
Futures I don’t think it’s a bad idea to
maybe hedge on the golden knights to win
the cup at 13 to1 I think whatever team
wins that opening round will will go
deep into the playoffs again so there
