remarkable achievement of Luton toown
reaching the Premier League Liverpool
won a record-breaking 10th League Cup
peterb United lifted the Bristol Street
Motors trophy at Wembley and blackb
Rovers do counting ship of Wednesday all
became the latest clubs to celebrate
that huge 5,000th League game Milestone
and as ever in the FFL we’ve seen
managers come and go we’ve seen unbeaten
run records broken and as we saw
yesterday plenty of late winners as well
yes and speaking of managers Neil Harris
returned to milw and in doing so became
the first person to manage in all three

rexam wrote another chapter in their
Hollywood script by achieving
back-to-back promotions and MK Dons Dean
lington is giving Neil warock a little
bit of a run for his money when it comes
to the longevity States as he achieved
that incredible feat back in December of
breaking the record for the most League
appearances by a player for a single
club and there’s still so much more to
come so time to get this shindig up and
running we’re going to kick off
tonight’s proceedings with a welcome
from the efl’s chair Mr Rick Parry Rick
come and join us
[Applause]
[Applause]
please good evening ladies and gentlemen
and welcome to the stunning surroundings
of groer house for the 2024 efl
Awards tonight’s event is always one of
the most enjoyable in our calendar an
evening of worthy celebrations tonight
we recognize the breadth and depth of
English football and the Magnificent
achievements of clubs ccos staff players
managers and supporters alike the people
who all make the efl what it
is we’ve always maintained that the efl
is all about two things great football
competition on the pitch and
life-changing Community work off
efl clubs are the Beating Heart of their
local communities and throughout
tonight’s Awards we’ll see in abundance
how clubs have not only performed on the
pitch but how they demonstrate a real
sense of belonging in the towns and
cities from which they take their
names but before the proceedings get
underway I’d like to say a few words of
gratitude to those who have made
tonight’s event possible I’d like to
thank Zara sharles Grace Taylor Abby
Rodwell Laura Odie and Lucy Gordon as
well as all the efl team in attendance
this evening your hard work and efforts
in making tonight happen for everyone in
the room to enjoy Are Much
appreciated and a huge thank you to Sky
Sports for your support once again with
the streaming of tonight’s event
enabling many more people to join the
celebrations from wherever they may be
in the
world our thanks must also go to
tonight’s presenting Partners Elms and
ignition Sports media both of whom are
longstanding supporters of the efl the
National Football museum for providing
the historical memorabilia over there
which is on show fascinating display the
staff here at groer house and all of our
category sponsors our appreciation of
course also goes to all of our
commercial and footballing partners
collectively your support enables us to
enjoy such a special evening so on
behalf of everybody ATL our sincere
thanks my final words of gratitude must
go to my fellow board members the
executive led by Trevor our 72 clubs
their owners management and staff
alongside of course our club Community
organizations their teams an army of
volunteers who work tirelessly 365 days
a year to make such a difference in our
community
while many of you will receive deserved
recognition tonight you all deserve a
round of applause for your continued
efforts on and off the
pitch rightly so there continues to be
widespread focus on the challenges
football faces in the short medium and
long term as responsible custodians we
have a duty to drive
change with the protection of the game’s
future at the core of everything we do
but tonight’s a night to put that to one
side and celebrate our successes of
which there are many and it’s also an
occasion to remember another enthralling
season of efl
competition rooted in authenticity the
efl has been at the heart of the game
for more than 135
years week in week out we provide the
most games the most goals and some of
football’s most memorable moments as our
competitions continue to excite and
Captivate
supporters watched by hundreds of
millions around the world our Global
reach is demonstrated not only by the
diverse playing squads and the fact that
club Owners are spread across multiple
continents but also by the faith the
broadcast markets have placed in our
pyramid at home and
abroad the millions of supporters who
come through the turn Styles every week
make the efl one of the highest attended
leagues in World
football last season all three of our
divisions featured in the top 20 best
attended leagues across Europe with
League one and League two the best
attended third and fourth tiers in the
world and collectively attendances were
at their highest for almost a 100 years
a record we on course to break again
this
season such numbers are Testament to our
fantastic competitions and our clubs
players and managers who all play their
part in making the efl a great
success with less than three weeks to go
we’re in for an exciting finale but it
has been as has been the case All Season
there are bound to be twists and turns
until the very end as clubs battle for
promotion and playoff places While
others fight for
survival early congratulations to both
Stockport County and rexam who following
victories yesterday sealed promotion and
secured their status as League one clubs
next season and of course a welcome back
to Chesterfield who recently celebrated
their return to the F following a
fantastic season in the National
League this season’s championship title
race is one of the closest we’ve seen
and has captured the attention of
football fans all
over with Leeds United overturning a 17o
deficit to enter the automatic promotion
race alongside leester City Ipswich
toown we are set for one of the most
captivating finales in recent
years and the race for the playoffs look
set to go to the wire 2 while at the
other end of the table the pursuit of
survival
intensifies League one and League two
follow a similar pattern as both
divisions continue to live up to their
reputations for unpredictability and
competitiveness despite just a handful
of match days remaining so many clubs
still have something to play
for yesterday only one efl game didn’t
have an impact on either the top or the
bottom of the respective divisions and
that’s quite
something of course our Cup competitions
have already concluded and we have two
worthy
winners congratulations to Liverpool who
celebrated success in the caribow cup
for a record-breaking 10th time back in
February and this year’s Bristol Street
Motors Trophy winners peterb United who
picked up the silverware just last week
to maintain their 100% record at Wembley
Stadium however the remainder of the
Season unfolds it’s clear to see that
the efl is on the up the Envy of many
around the world and an institution that
everyone here in the room should be
proud to be a part
of back now to the main event and our
first award of the evening which is the
efl’s contribution to League football
award an award selected by the efl board
to honor individuals who’ve made an
outstanding contribution to League
football throughout their careers this
year’s recipient epitopes just that I’m
now going to hand back over to David who
will tell you more about our deserving
2024 winner thank you all and enjoy your
evening thank you very much Rick yes
this year’s contribution to Football
League award recognizes the career of
someone extremely special whose impacts
on the game will undoubtedly benefit
many people for years to come an FA Cup
winner in 1991 this year’s recipient
started his career as an apprentice at
Blackpool where he wanted to make more
than 200 appearances before signing for
Manchester City
and subsequently Spurs for whom he
featured more than 150 times and won the
FA Cup winning three England caps he
also represented Liverpool Palace wolves
and Sunderland a stellar career but
throughout his life he suffered in
silence carrying the secret every day
for four years he was abused by his
junior football coach after public
publicly speaking out in 2016 he has
since dedicated his life to working on
safeguarding children young people and
vulnerable adults working with the efl
LF Academy player parents and staff he
uses his lived experience to help Ure no
one has to go through the tragedy that
he and many others did the impact of his
work in safeguarding across the sport is
immeasurable and there’s absolutely no
doubt that the football in community is
a safer place for all because of his
work and his incredible bravery ladies
and gentlemen a truly remarkable man
please be very much upstanding please
welcome Paul Stewart to the stage
[Applause]
stand come here
[Applause]
now Paul before we hear from you and we
can’t wait to hear that let’s first turn
our attention to the screens and hear
from a few people associated with your
career that you’ll be very familiar
with we’re all set for the 110th FA Cup
final today here at
Wembley here’s Paul Allan and Paul
Stewart for
Spurs I still think he should have
squared it to
[Applause]
meor
Spurs he also got me out the doodo
having missed a penalty he saved my
bacon he really did take control of that
Midfield you know Stewie was was pivotal
in our Victory don’t remember much about
I have to watch it on TV it was a big
personality particularly in that
dressing room when he first came he was
a forward the Manchester City he scored
I think a goal every two games
today in my own town in front of my own
people is it’s great he could win the
ball very well work hard I think in the
end we converted him to a Midfield
player Paul presented as someone who was
life and soul of the party and gave
everything on the pitch I don’t think
anybody had any idea what was going on
underneath the surface I have an FA Cup
winners medal in three England caps in
my house none of them are on show
because they represent heartache and
pain
he he told me that you had to do this to
become a footballer but if you do say
anything I will kill your mom and dad
and your two
brothers I was a detective for many
years um have met thousands of victims
every one of them is brave Paul is a
very brave man and has been able to
stand up and tell his story what he went
through was clearly hellish and that has
to have a massive effect tell you the
strength it must take to turn that into
something that can help other kids is
incredible football is has made great
strides in terms of safeguarding I do a
lot of work with the
efl he doing fantastic work going around
to clubs to see players talking about
his experiences what Paul brings really
is his authenticity into the role to
come back and deliver that message that
these things have happened and how we
can better safeguard that from happening
in the future all was struck by his
words I can’t change the past the past
is the past it’s
happened I hopefully can influence the
future the reaction was phenomenal from
not just the the players but parents as
well there are changes that we’ve made
through Paul and the education programs
that he puts in place that will affect
the futures of children all over the
country this will be the key to changing
culture right across the game so many
young people will be protected from
similar circumstan is because of what
he’s done he’s done some absolutely
fantastic work and th he deserves the
award he’s receiving despite the career
that I had I wish i’ enjoyed it
hopefully I can give you some tools to
enjoy the journey that you’re embarking
on CU I’ve been there this award
couldn’t be going to a more deserving
person than Paul his real rewards will
be the children that don’t suffer it’s
significantly more important than
anything he did in his football career
and he was a really good player
[Applause]
and to present Paul with his award is
someone who has been with him on his
journey work closely with him in
safeguarding the future of English
football please welcome the efl’s head
of safeguarding and close friend of Paul
Alex Richards
a
picture come on all in it’s fine don’t
be
shy brilliant Paul thank you so much um
we want you to give you the mic know
you’ve got a few words to say my
friend I’ll your as
well good evening everyone
um what a real pleasure it is to be here
um and may I congratulate everyone who’s
been nominated this evening and uh the
very best of
luck first of all uh I’d like to thank
the efl board for presenting me with
this
award I’m not sure if I’m deserving of
such a high Accolade I was absolutely
blown away when I was called to the efl
offices to be told I was chosen to
receive
this the truth is since I uh started
working uh with the life skills team
some six years ago I was really Unsure
how it would be
received but it really has been a
journey of discovery that has helped me
with my own recovery something that I
never really
expected and now when I visit the clubs
it is heartwarming to see how the
attitude and development of these
youngsters has changed and I think that
is a great Testament and credit to the
efl and the life skills
program so I’d like to really give three
people a special mention tonight um
they’re here on my table
um because without the support of these
three individuals I wouldn’t be up here
today first of all from the life skills
team Simon
Williams from the efl Paul
Bartlett and head of safeguarding at the
AFL
Alex all three of these people have
supported me throughout my time working
at the
efl and I’m honored and privileged that
they have put their faith and trust in
me to visit the football club sharing my
story and educating the youngsters about
the dangers and pitfalls that they may
encounter on their footballing Journey
I really do take my work very
seriously and hopefully my experience
over 22 years in the
game helps them in some way to enjoy
their
experience
secondly to my family especi my
especially my two daughters who are here
with me
tonight on this special occasion they
have been there through thick and thin
through the good and bad times and
believe me there have been plenty of bad
times I love you both
dearly to two people who can’t be here
tonight my longsuffering wife who
despite my many shortfalls stood by me
when she could really have turned her
back on me and I wouldn’t have blamed
her for doing
so I wish she could have been here to
moment unfortunately she passed away
nearly four years ago I Love You
Beth and my
father whose birthday it would have been
today passed away last week after a
short
illness stood on the touch lines and
watched me as a youngster and was there
at every game when I played
professionally I hope they’re both
looking down with
pride finally I want to dedicate this
award to all those who had a dream as I
did which was to be a
footballer little did I
know was that the dream would lead me to
endure the physical and sexual abuse
from from an individual use my dream to
perpetrate that
abuse so I want to dedicate this
award to all my colleagues who suffered
as I did and continue to suffer due to
the impact of the abuse all because they
had a
dream and to those who tragically are
not with
us because the impact of that abuse
abuse was too much for them to bear I
want to dedicate this award to all of
you thank you very much have a great
evening thank
you mate very well done very well done
very well done than
go one one last second All In come on
[Applause]
Paul Paul thank you on behalf of all of
us Paul listen to this just listen to

communities and we know only too well
the pivotal role that they play away
from the 90 minutes on the football
pitch week in week
out thank you very much yes providing
support 365 days a year through a range
of programs together efl clubs are an
incredible Force for good with a unique
ability to engage some of the hardest to
Rich groups in society enriching their
lives and making a lasting difference
yeah and whether it is helping ease the
burden on local NHS services to getting
people active or or even just to offer a
safe space for people to enjoy a coffee
and a bit of cake uh that work that is
carried out on a daily basis has a
social value to Society of get this over
over a billion pounds a billion pounds
nothing short of outstanding and we’re
going to take a look at just a fraction
of this incredible
work we enjoy trying to make a
difference to people it’s not about the
game it’s actually about just engaging
with each

on Lads he’s just completely blossomed
into this little football that I never
knew I
had he’s the Superstar my
Superstar come on in squeeze in we got
to get a big song going
[Music]
it’s amazing as players to be able to
help out and put smiles in kids
[Music]
faces you get a good feeling about doing
these things giving things back to the
[Music]
[Music]
kids that’s the most important thing
he’s making it full and enjoyable and
inclusive as brilliant to know that the
club will do their bit to to help the
community out and as players we want to
help out as well
quality of football was so so high it
was amazing to
[Music]
see when I see this kind of
representation I know I can be proud of
my
sport now a couple of weeks ago clubs
and players were recognized at the efl
community Awards which took place at the
houses of Parliament and as host of that
event I can honestly say that we were
absolutely Blown Away by the incredible
work by efl organizations that continue
to positively impact the lives of so
many across the country yeah and was so
much good being done the the award is
always hard fought and I’m told that the
judges this year found picking the
overall winner particularly difficult
with so little between our three
shortlisted clubs but they’ve Managed IT
and to reveal our winner please welcome

Davis kelleran of Mansfield has

the scoring charts at field Mill setting

been been enjoyable you know um it’s
been uh it’s been crazy to be honest uh
been up up top of the table for most of
the season and teams have been we’ve got
a Target on our back so yeah got three
games and just going to give it give it
everything we’ve got three Cup finals
cliche one yeah yeah three final yeah I
think obviously cuz the goal difference
is quite good if we get a point but
we’re not looking to draw games you know
we want to go and win games so yeah
looking forward to them top stuff there
thank you very much and Matt Smith I had
a question for you which you must have
known because you couldn’t have stood
further away from me but 23 leag goals
this season you’ve also surpassed the
career milestone in 500 career
appearances I mean when you look back
all those years ago when you everam
could you ever imagined it would have
gone on to all of this perhaps might
need you to help me out here sorry it’s
a good question it’s through on my arms
long enough no not in the uh not in the
slightest I’d never thought I’d be a
professional footballer said to go on
and play like I said over 500 games has
been a real privilege and and an honor
so um yeah loved sort of every every
experience you know all the clubs have
been out I’ve got fun memories so yeah
it’s been great yeah well
congratulations everyone this is our
League 2 team of the season
[Applause]
fell good your way however you want to
go back to one back to number

Styles each season to watch their club

this morning host Mr Ben
[Applause]
Shepard are hi Lely to meet you okay
yourself welcome Ben let’s take a look
at the short
list season ticket holder for 20
years and a local burough celebrity it’s
Middlesboro fan Yousef
jamama from Swansea City Chris Brown who
sadly lost his battle with FG syndrome
in February but his love for the swans
knew no
bounds and Dave Healey a West Brom fan
of 50 years well known in West bromich
for his fundraising for the albian
foundation well the certainly no doubt
that every supporter nominated deserves
recognition but of course there can only
be one winner so please Ben the
winner delighted to say the winner is
from West page Alum Dave Healey
[Applause]
a West Brom fan for more than 50 years
Dave’s passion for fundraising has seen
him raise more than3 million for the
albian foundation in 2020 he was awarded
an OB for his services to charity and he
continues to inspire young people with
disabilities encourage them to step out
of their comfort zone and overcome
barriers
well a huge congratulations to you Dave
we’ve heard a lot there about all the
charity work that you do and
particularly fundraising uh for the
albian foundation I mean West Brom there
a football club that means a lot to you
aren’t they oh without a doubt yeah I
mean been supporting them for over 50
years um your local team West Brom is my
local team always has been always will
be gives me a lot of heartache over the
years but they give me a hell of a lot
of pleasure and uh it’s just fantastic
to sit in them stands and go you know
boing boing let’s let’s it’s just
brilliant it’s uh great to listen to him
on the radio in the stands but to be
there part of the atmosphere and then to
support the foundation which is just
unbelievable um obviously my situation
is being blind I’m not disabled I’m just
unfortunate but um you know it’s
supporting disability kids across the
Spectrum special needs I can’t well I
could stand there all night and just ble
on a bear and it’s just absolutely
incredible well it’s great to have you
here and you mentioned you’ve supported
the club for some 50 years what would
you say the Highlight has been during
that time it’s got to be the XA Cup
Final 68 um you know every game’s every
game’s an issue it’s like o uh the walk
home at night you know when we’ve won
it’s absolutely brilliant and when we
walk home some nights everybody’s a
manager but um I guess that that goal
Jeff assel the king 68 it brings back a
memory in fact that was probably one of
the last goals I’ve ever saw um so you
know the rest is history isn’t need TR
listen to it on the radio and I get I
still get excited yeah well a huge
congratulations please ladies and
gentlemen give it up for Dave Healey
[Applause]
[Laughter]

you’re at your absolute best um yeah
definitely um I’m a bit overwhelmed to
be honest uh yeah it’s been tough you
know I think everybody um kind of knows
what’s going on in my career and stuff
like that so yeah um the main thing for
me this season was to to play games and
kind of get my name back out there so
that’s the main thing for me you know
better than the assists and and winning

made their way through the efl to get to
where they are today and with many of
those players sets feature at the Euros

this season the academy product has a
bright
future so those are the nominees Joby

Edwards Edwards almost gave up football
after being dropped from his childhood
to team and thank goodness he didn’t
known as Rolls-Royce Ronny by the Peter
fans the everpresent defender is an
essential figure in Darren Ferguson’s
young Posh side and the efl is lucky to
have
himk you uh Ronnie many many
congratulations uh we know it’s a very
young side at Peter I think only 21
yourself almost one of the old boys
you’ve been around for so long do you
feel that sense of responsibility at the
club um so um yeah no we’ve got a lot of
young boys there and um we’ve got a big
responsibility but I think um we’re
doing well at that well it’s a big
congratulations tonight but of course
for last weekend as well what would it
mean to now wrap it up with promotion

list Boyhood leads United fan Archie
Gray’s dream is to win the Champions
League with the Yorkshire Club having
captained England at Youth Level the
quiet but confident midfielder is a
regular in a lead side chasing an
instant Top Flight return and he’s
tipped for the very
top with 12 goals and two assists for
Norwich City this season John row is
fast building a reputation as one of the
most exciting young talents in English
football he made his goalscoring debut
for England under 21s earlier this
season and has been instrumental to the
Canary’s playoff
push and having played down a year when
he was younger because of his size
Jordan James physicality is certainly
not holding him back now the 19-year-old
Academy product recently made his 100th
appearance for Birmingham city and has
scored some vital goals along the
way thank you very much
DAV bit of hush for Cammy here Cammy our
winner please my friend right I’ve got a
choice I
believe right the winner of the
championship young player of this season

there seems to be no limit on what
Archie gray will take in his stride 2024

for Boyhood Club leads United and five
minutes was all he needed to find the
net on his England under 21’s debut one
of the hottest prospects in the English
game the 18-year-old is living up to his
family name
Ary congratulations weaving your way to
the stage like you do throughout a
football pitch well done to you must be
a bit of a whirlwind we talked about you
being this young pup coming into the
season all the games under your belt a
team knocking on the door of the Premier
League has it been a whirlwind for you
yeah it’s been a pretty pretty crazy
season you know I’m lucky to have the
manager that trust me this much and you
know as a young L coming into a season
that I’ve not even played a single game
so yeah just really lucky to have the
teammates and the people around me so
yeah one of the standout moments for you
this season must have been your
involvement in the goal that put leads
in front against Leicester at Ena Road
earlier in the season unfortunately it
then got taken off you and put down as
an own goal but still to play your part
in a moment like that and I saw the
celebrations afterwards which were
absolutely wild you knew how big a
moment that was that that’s going to
make you hungry for many more like that
yeah I’m just glad that I didn’t over
celebrate cuz I would have looked like a
idiot off or something like that and it
was an own goal but yeah it was you know
I’ve never really witnessed the crowd
like that and I’ve been at the game
since I was a young child so yeah a bit
crazy what a talent he is thank you
Archie best of luck to you and to Le for
the rest of the season one of the
tightest res be seen congratulations
Archie

it remember their names ladies and
gentlemen three upand coming Stars right
before we finish part one let’s just
rewind to last week as we mentioned
there when peterb United lifted the
Bristol Street Motors trophy at Wembley
Stadium a decade on from their last
victory there if you’d like to turn your
attention to the screens we’ll take a
quick look at some of the highlights
who doesn’t dream of a trip down Wembley
way seeing your team play at the home of
football that would be the
day the efl
trophy a chance for those clubs with a
heart and soul to feel the magic of the
cup a chance for Glory to write their
own story lifting silverware up on the
world’s greatest stage
and yeah what will be will be but what
if what if we’re about to create history
what if we’re about to see our club’s
players become legendary and join the
list of those that made themselves great
at the greatest Stadium the game is
played in and yeah there could be
heartache and the dream might break but
what if it doesn’t what if we score what
if he’s done it what
if what
if at Wembley
we’ve only gone and won
it yes congratulations to F United for
that marvelous day at Wembley Stadium
congratulations
peder and of course still plenty of
drama to come at wemy before the end of
this season still plenty more to come
from us as well but we’re going to take

we are back welcome back to the
2024 uh efl Awards we have got a lot
more to come so I think we should crack
on correct we’ve seen plenty of great
achievements on the pitch so far but now
it’s time to turn attention to the
achievements of players off the pitch
and take another look at the important
work our clubs and players do in the
community yes so this next award
recognizes a player whose Community
involvement this season has gone above
and beyond yes it is the efl player in
the community award sponsored by the PFA
and to present this award would you
please welcome the chief executive of
the PFA maheta mango
[Applause]
hi hello

player in the community sponsored by the
PFA
are Sheffield Wednesday’s will vogs for
his strong and supportive connection to
the club CCO and his wider charitable
work away from
football portsmouth’s Marlon pack for
his fan engagement work coaching of the
academy teams and willingness to support
the wider community of his Boyhood
club and more comes faren rosson for his
ability to carry his influence on the
pitch into his community work off it and
spread that enthusiasm through the
dressing

now a three-time player in the community
Award winner will vs has been an
ambassador for blue Bellwood children’s
hospice since 2018 and last year helped
orchestrate a charity relay to raise
awareness for men’s mental Health he
says he’s just a young lad who wants to
help out but his work goes far beyond
that well will congratulations a
three-time winner now and it’s not about
the awards although it’s nice to have
you up here on stage to chat it’s about
much more than that for you isn’t it
yeah there you go thank you uh yeah it’s
always a bit awkward taking one of these
Awards I think uh it’s a lot easier to
take play of the season but I don’t win
that very often
so uh no it’s really nice and I think um
it’s important as players we have a
responsibility uh to give a bit back to
our community uh you know I played with
Marlon at Cardiff so um I know exactly
what he does and great guy and there’s
loads of players that do a lot and I
think uh we get some bad press along the
way uh but as a whole I think players we
do we do quite a lot so it’s really nice
and uh it was a cause I think the reason
I’m here is uh something really close to
my heart something that happened to my
family and I thought it was important at
a time getting a bit older kids of my
own um to speak out about it and try and
raise awareness so really grateful I
appreciate it well your credit uh to
your Club Community and the efl as a
whole so ladies and Gentlemen please
give it up once more for will

our women’s plus Network just over two

important to have a um a forum away from
the match day for our female supporters
to engage with us and it’s been
absolutely phenomenal um the success
that we’ve had we’ve gone from kind of
nine founding members to over 60 now um
so it gives an alternative um kind of
group for um the female supporters to
engage with this um and that has trans
translated to who’s coming to the

um so so proud for me and my family
obviously being a fan at such a young
age and then to go and lift the trophy
yeah it was a special moment Yeah you
mentioned about your age there we’ve
already had a little bit this evening
about just how young this squad is I
mean to be wearing the captain’s arm
band at 22 years old how does it feel to
have that responsibility and to know
that your manager has full faith in you
at such a young age yeah it’s a big
honor and um thank to the GAA for for
trusting me with that responsibility so
so yeah like you said it’s a very young
team and uh we’re all on the on the same

please okay the winner is leads United
Archie
gray a winner already this evening the
leads United teenager has been
constantly challenged by playing above
his age group having broken a club
record of appearances for a player under
18 we know what he can do on the pitch
but perhaps more impressive is his
humble attitude and commitment to hard
work off the pitch
so AI well done another award for you

final 11 brought to you by Sky Sports
Gary
[Applause]
Weaver in goal is Leicester City’s Maz
Hermanson a goalkeeper who is a
playmaker he did start out as a
midfielder before injury forced him to
go in goal he used to say no one wanted
to be a keeper but he has made a living
out of it right back was fiercely fought
it’s Kyle Walker Peters of Southampton
who makes the team of the year it was
ipswitch boss Kieran McKenna who
converted him into an inverted right
back at Tottenham in the youth setup and
he’s not looked back next up is Ethan
aadu who after playing around Europe has
found a place to settle at Le United
after starting the season in Midfield
he’s formed an incredible partnership at
the back with Joe rhon he’s eyeing
promotion after three successive
relegations which he’s sick of people
mentioning so we won’t whole City’s
Jacob Greaves is selected he’s got
Premier League clubs knocking on his
door after his exploits in a whole city
shirt Jacob used to be a season ticket
older he has a photo of himself as a
13-year-old taking with his then
favorite player Liam rinia next up is
leaf Davis of if switch toown a Defender
who spends most of his time attacking
he’s into double figures for assists
setting a new Championship record of
assists by a Defender which used to
stand of 14 into Midfield nor City’s
Gabrielle Sara has driven the club’s top
six push this season he stands out in
the heat of the Midfield battle week
after week in a Norwich shirt alongside
him is Ken and juy Hall of Leicester
city he’s a local who came through the
academy he used to clean Angolo kante’s
boots now he fills them he’s made it his
personal mission to take his Club back
to the Premier League Morgan Whitaker of
Plymouth AR has been a star in a team
that is fighting off relegation trouble
latio came calling in January but he
chose the barin over the Coliseum as a
child he used to pretend to be
now children in Plymouth pretend to be
him black Ben Rover Samy smodic is
another who has flourished in a
difficult season for his club and he’s
played at International level two with
Republic of Ireland his favorite player
his Idol is Steven Gerard so much so he
used to wear his Liverpool kit
pretending to be him and would even
speak in a scous accent next up is creno
Somerville of lead United this is the
season his career really ignited his
trademark move is stepping in from the
left and finishing with his right the
opposition know what he wants to do but
very few can stop him leion uniters
georgino rout completes the lineup he
plays with a smile on his face and he’s
put a smile on the face of his adopted
City low on confidence at the start of
the Season by his own admission he’s
brimming with it now he’s LED leads to
the verge of another
promotion right photo time around sh
around picture here it’s F
yeah are we all
in thank you right just enough time to
grab a quick word with a couple of the
players Sammy I’m coming to you we heard
there Steph Gerard apparently is your
Idol but what about a video message from
Alan sheer yesterday after reaching 30
goals this season what do you make of
that sorry that’s right um yeah I can’t
really believe my name’s even in the
same sentence as Alan chir um but yeah
to reach 30 goals obviously this season
is amazing considering where we are in
the league um but you know a big win for
us yesterday hopefully he got us away
from that relegation Zone yeah I mean
it’s been a challenging season hasn’t it
for black bone Rovers but your goal
tally that must be something that you
are so proud of yeah of course
personally for me it’s been amazing uh
you know to score 24 in the in the
league um is is amazing for me and you
know hopefully I can add a couple more
in the last three games congratulations
for them K and it’s some battle at the
very top we’re all absolutely enjoying
every single minute of it what’s it like
on the inside I’ve seen you talking to
the leads Lads and the I Swit table all
friendly fire at the moment yeah at the
moment it is um on nights like this but
I’d probably rather be up here a bit
more comfortable going into the last
couple of games but it makes it more
exciting for the neutral so yeah I’m
hoping for those the next couple of
games are more comfortable but um yeah
we’ll see what happens okay well we’ve
enjoyed every single minute of it we
wish you all the very best well done

section with a reminder of February’s
carabal Cup Final as Liverpool lifted
the trophy for a record-breaking 10th
time welcome everyone to the 2024
caraval Cup Final from Wembley Stadium
Jackson is in the middle it’s behind
Jackson it’s Raheem Sterling and it’s
Palmer it’s an incredible save by Cline
kellerer in the Liverpool goal that’s a
lovely ball into Jackson Sterling’s in
the Middle Jackson tries to find him and
Chelsea have the lead the flag’s gone up
it won’t
count in by Robertson and off the post
from
Gap Liverpool’s free kick Robinson’s
delivery van D with the header there is
a video assistant referee check here
it’s no
goal Palmer Guston his way Galler off
the post so
unlucky corner kick to Liverpool

in Virgil Van djk just might have won
the caraval cup for Liverpool Jurgen Klo
has another Trophy and this will go down
in Liverpool
history okay well up next it is time to
take a final look at some of the
incredible work being delivered with a
community project of this season yeah
and this award recognizes a club for
delivering a unique and impactful
project that has made a significant
difference in the last year so to reveal
our winner of this one please with you
welcome one of this year’s Community
judges it is the ITV presenter and talk
sport host Hugh
wenro you good this I will hold that you
hello hello to see likewise how you how
are you
see right before we announce our
community project of the Season David
please take us through the
nominees Bristol City’s ad Mentor
program supports young people involved
in criminal activity and helps navigate
them away from any negative influences
in their life with the help of a mentor
these young people are pushed to find a
new purpose and given an opportunity to
change Port Vil’s Community cupboard and
Lounge has supported an incredible 6,000
visits in the last 12 months as it aims
to reduce loneliness one participant
actually said if the support portale
Foundation offers was in tablet form it
should be prescribed to
everyone and Mor’s veterans project
which works to reduce isolation of
veterans of all ages providing a safe
space to socialize with like-minded
people so Hugh please do the honors and

community project of the season the

[Applause]
project after increasing M’s time away
from negative influences Bristol City’s
ad Mentor project has seen unparalleled
success with police reports showing 100
% non-engagement in criminal activity
and antisocial Behavior with each mentee
enrolled in the
programat conat
toat well conratulations to you all it’s
an incredible project but Jade I must
just ask you a couple of questions on
this you spoke so well at the houses of
Parliament we could not speak to you
again tonight you are a mentor right at
the heart of this project so tell us
about its creation yeah so um we work
with the six highend ASB kids in the
south of Bristol um we work intensively
so it could be 10 to 15 hours a week but
when we started working with these young
people it basically showed us that it
was sometimes a breakdown at home
instead of the young people was like
committing the offenses um and we’re all
Sam’s also um runs the project with us
and he is from the safe as well where I
am in the community and I think we said
before it’s not about where these kids
start is where they finish so if we can
help them achieve what they need to
achieve then and as I mentioned you’re a
mentor yourself and how much do you
think it helps the young people that
you’re working with that you have shared
life experiences and they they can
really relate to you and vice versa yeah
definitely like we grew up in a deployed
uh area and you know most of our family
members been to prison there’s lots of
other things that could distract you
from the right path in life and as long
as we’re there every time they sort of
divert to keep putting them on the right
track then hopefully they’ll get to
where they want to be well
congratulations it really is a project
to be proud of so ladies and Gentlemen
please give up to Jade uh bristle City
and the admin tour
program
[Applause]
congratulations we’re here just
saying you thought we got the hang of it
by now three hours it you talk that way
I’ll
talk uh now we mentioned excuse me

causes tickets were offered at a

attendance of 18,000 at Ewood Park for

okay lovely stuff I’m going to have a
chat with Lindsay in the middle here
jent if I just step in front of you nice
to see you many congratulations can you
tell us a bit about some of the ways in
which you’ve been engaging uh with the
Blackburn fan base to improve that
relationship with your supporters yeah
so the so the supporters had their ideas
of what they wanted to see on a match
day um so we thought why not throw the
doors open to them um the we are the
Rover’s trust um and uh it gave them an
insight as to how match days and
football clubs worked and also gave us a
great working relationship um to be able
to to give them what they want and and
be able to just put the match day on um
for the for the for the fans just
anything yeah it’s fantastic it’s great
work thanks for everything continue all
the good work black bur Rovers please
put your hands together thank you very
much well done well done conratulations

[Music]
okay well I’m going to come along here
and have a quick chat with Jonathan
Jonathan many many uh congratulations
one of the focuses of your work with W
was your uh tidy up our town project
tell us a bit more about that well we we
decided that
um there was there was loads we could do
with the with the environment and uh
there was so much that we did it’s hard
to describe but um we we we did the the
the kind of um oh my God I’m I’m so I’m
stunned I’m stunned actually I’ve been
do this for 15 years and I have moments
like this don’t worry about it um tell
us about some of the other work you’ve
been doing for with r we went to GH and
we saw a massive environmental uh
disgrace of of textile mountain and and
we came back and we said right we got
we’ve got to do something about this uh
so we we we we decided that we were
going to do a swap shop
um people could bring in their own like
old kits and and swap them for football
boots or whatever and uh and we did that
and we did food and we did all sorts of
stuff and I’m absolutely stunned I’m
speech I am literally speechless the the
hard work that the team behind me put in
um came to fruition so I’m absolutely
loving this brilliant we know you do
some unbelievable work so many
congratulations to all of you ladies and
gentlemen R United

Steward Lindsay has worked in just about
every Department during her time at the
club she even takes it upon herself to
collect and wash the first team kit
after an away game it’s fair to say
she’s Orient through and through
[Music]
[Music]
and Lindsay as we heard there you’ve
seen just about every angle of Laton
Orient Avenue so tell us what do you
love most about your work with the club
it’s a difficult one it’s very difficult
it’s different every day um I like the
most of the people
uh don’t you
it it varies the people change the faces
change each year so um it keeps it all
fresh uh and obviously I’ve got my
husband I work with my children I work
with so I’m very blessed well Lindsay
you’re a credit to the club and the efl

right switching our attention back to
employees on the field as we take a look
at some of the season’s best strikes
across the divisions it’s time for the
goal of the Season award sponsored by
Hawkeye so let’s take a look at the
goals in
[Music]
contention Le Davis just held up now as
he PES it out to
wesbs Burns turns inside still Burns oh
oh it’s magnificent an outrageous goal
from
wesbs that is an incredible
goal Norwich on the front foot here it’s
row dazzling Feer row that is brilliant
that is
class oh the Finish is is truly
outstanding outside of the boot keeper
no chance he’s a showman and he’s
brought his show to the side of the
Humber
overcomes the corner Nicholls punches
away and driven a goal what a goal at is
two from Joe
Rockwell that is some finish a steering
volley into the corner absolute
perfection from
roell
Ramsey
Collins Ramsey
just have a go
Ramsey it’s a beauty from Aaron
Ramsey as good a goal as you will see in
the championship this season and the
return of the hero was meant for moments
like
[Applause]
that
Shen M option to the left hand side
couple in support as well ashw still
wants it Moma KS it oh what a a
goal two a piece his sixth of the
season but Paris Moma kept dancing and
dancing and then curls an absolute
Beauty
home wow we’re just saying on stage were
there some worldies there or what every
single one don’t know how they’re going
to pick between these lot but it’s time
to find out to present this award uh
please welcome a man who’s often heard
on your screens at home
but rarely seen I’m going to put that
right tonight because this is what it

reporter Jonathan
Oaks that yet you’re right hello how are
you hello mate and he doesn’t disappoint
does he uh Oaky please do the honors and

winner and the winner is yeah it’s an
outrageous goal ips switch towns W
Burns now unfortunately Wes can’t be
with us tonight but his boss is Kieran
McKenna Kieran thank you so much for
collecting it on his
[Applause]
behalf Lea Davis just held up now as he
pushes it out to WB
Burns Burns turns inside still Burns oh
it’s magnificent an outrageous goal from
wesb burs that is an incredible
goal now outrageous and incredible both
good words to use we saw you talk after
that goal saying you’d have rather have
gone with his left foot from a more of
an altruistic point of view of how you
take a goal and how you give it to other
people from what you’ve seen there do
you still stick to your guns would you
have preferred him to go with his left
no I think the the lesson to be learned
is don’t listen to everything your your
manager tells you cuz I’ve been trying
to get him to shoot with his left foot
when he comes inside for two years and
he uh he still goes outside right so no
fa play to him is a great Finish Well a
wonderful goal hopefully a wonderful end
of the season as well we wish you all
the best thank
[Applause]
you on to another awards that debuted at
last year’s Ceremony this is the efl’s
Innovation award which recognizes a club
for a particularly impressive and
Innovative piece of work so to present
this award please welcome Lon orian
captain and chair of the PFA Omar
[Music]
beckles see mate you good thank you very
much he and to tell us about the
nominations David it’s back to you up

forest green Rovers for their PTO pitch

awareness around Suicide
Prevention and Swansea City for their
tackling cancer together third kit
campaign Omar over to you please who’s
the winner
yes oh so yeah the winner for the efl
innovation
award is Norwich
[Applause]
City Norwich City’s You Are Not Alone
campaign started with a single question
how can we use our platform to Save a
Life the powerful campaign video which
you can see on the screens right now was
viewed more than 146 million times in
over 150 countries and led to over 7,000
inbound messages to the
Samaritans um many congratulations to
you Sam H quick chat um I don’t think
there’s a person in this room I think
I’m right in saying who hasn’t seen that
video and been really affected by what
they saw producing such an important
piece to raise awareness around mental
health did you ever imagine it would
have quite the impact it has um no
absolutely not the um we’re all deeply
humbled by it completely we we we said
right at the start if we can help one
person it will have achieved something
um it’s born out a strategy a purpose
lad strategy to help our community make
our community better today than it was
yesterday and sadly it’s actually born
out of a a genuine stat in the east of
England the last five years um the
danger zone for male suicide is 49 49
years old that is the exact average age
of our season ticket holder so there’s a
real strategy around that and ultimately
Awards like this are just an incredible
validation for the hard work of the team
um all produced in-house with a really
small budget um but actually some of the
messages we had from around the world
and from people that have referenced it
as a moment that’s helped help them turn
a corner uh as you said Samaritan 7 a
half thousand inbound messages in the
first week that directly cited the video
as the reason for them making contact so
yes completely humbling yeah so
important and thank you to Sam and
congratulations to nor City please show
your appreciation of such an important
issue ra thank you very much to do thank
you thanks very much again
[Applause]

[Music]
Wella a big congratulations I understand
you weren’t really expecting this if you
can find the words uh just sum up what
it means to be stood up here and and
have your career recognized in this way
yeah it was a bit of a surprise to be
honest um no one really LED on to what
was happening to be honest so um yeah to
be is absolutely incredible surrounded
by so many unbelievable people players
staff people that are involved in the
efl yeah I’m I’m a little bit speechless
to be honest so to be recognized for I
believe I led my career being as
selfless as possible being a captain of
every Club I played for
um trying to lead as the best way I knew
how but obviously always putting my
teammates in the club first so to be
recognized at the end of 20 years of
given absolutely everything is
absolutely unbelievable and and if you
look back on that career long career
you’ve had is there a moment you look
back almost funly from that career and
playing with him is not the correct
answer he was a lot of fun as you can
probably tell
um there’s nothing I can really pick out
I think
I jumped out straight out of football I
needed a bit of time away from the game
because I’d given absolutely everything
every weekend for 20 years so I haven’t
really took stock of everything that I
did but probably just being here tonight
actually recognizing all my achievements
and the consistency and the dedication
that I gave to the game and my family
alongside it was just absolutely
incredible to be standing here today
with This brilliant to here he gave
absolutely everything to his career what
a guy recipient of the 2024 Tom
it is
[Applause]
Luke well done
Luke right then back to the he and now
and it’s time to find out who the
standup player in the Sky Bet
Championship has been it is and yet
again always the championship delivers
drama doesn’t it at both ends of the
table it’s done it again this season and
to present this award please would be
welcome from Sky Bet coral cranmer and
Sky Sports super for Sunday presenter
straight from the studio at the Emirates
I believe welcome to Kelly
[Applause]
Kates hello you
okay
hello hello KY hello David our short
list
please the heartbeat of the Leicester
city Midfield kin and jewsbury Hall’s
contribution to the fox’s success goes
go far beyond his 12 League goals the
coolest of heads with the technical
ability to match he has been a real
standout star this
season exciting explosive and utterly
electric leads United’s creno Somerville
has been the thorn in the side of many a
championship defense this season still
just 22 years old the Dutchman’s 17
League goals alone make him a very
worthy
nominee and a record-breaking season for
Blackburn Rover Samy smodic who shows no
signs of slowing down yesterday he
became the first Blackburn player to
score 30 goals in a campaign since a
certain Alan sheir back in
1996 as the frontman continues to define
the word
Talisman so Kelly please reveal our
winner of the championship player of the
Season sponsored by Sky BS thank you
Emma the winner is leads United creno
Somerville
this is the season 22-year-old creno
Somerville has really ignited defenses
have struggled to stop the leads United
number 10 all season described as a
baller and an outstanding creative
player by his manager Daniel farker his
Relentless numbers have played a key
role in lead’s push for automatic
promotion
[Music]
[Applause]
creno congrat congratulations some
stunning goals some wonderful matches
this season do you have a standout
moment so
far I would say against norch uh was a
great comeback uh with two- n down and
uh yeah I was important for the team
with two goals so so the next two
challenges is it promotion and a full
International
cap uh yeah that’s what we aim for you
know um yeah it’s been a great season
for us for me uh and uh yeah I hope we
can uh yeah get our plan and uh get
promoted and uh yeah we
are yeah we are
um aiming for that well we wish you all
the very best A man that just stuns on
and off the pitch doesn’t he creno some
of it
everybody
congratulations very welcome M mate that
one
[Applause]
right now it has been uh a long and
testing season in League 2 with plenty
of experienced managers going
head-to-head week in week out and of
course being League 2 there’s still so
much to play for for so many with the
clubs all the way down in 15 plays still
mathematically able to make the playoffs
that’s right Jor isn’t it that’s right
of course thank you just Five Points
separating 7eventh and 13th in the table
this league 2 campaign has probably been
one of the closest we’ve seen in recent
years which is saying something of
course CU it’s always very very tight so
let’s get on to finding out who this
year’s League 2 manager of the season is
sponsored by Football manager please
welcome from Sports interactive Matt
Carol and the efl’s chief executive
Trevor
[Applause]
bird you
okay okay hi I see you Trevor see you hi
again how you
doing Trevor going to come across and
have a quick word you mind if I just go
in the middle love to see you uh thank
you for joining us uh we’ve had a
wonderful night haven’t we just before
we go to the managers of the Season
we’ve heard so many brilliant stories
this evening we’ve spoken to so many
great people on and off the pitch
tonight haven’t we really seen the the
breadth and the depth of of the efl I
think which is which is what these
awards are all about yeah I think so I
think my overwhelming feeling is is one
of being proud and privileged to be
involved in the league which of course
was the uh original League uh founded in
the world um and as Rick said at the at
the beginning we’re all about the
competitions great competitions but also
the power of football to affect the
communities and I think what we’ve seen
today or tonight is a blend of of what’s
happening in the communities what’s
happening behind the scenes at clubs as
well as on the field so I think it’s a a
great you know blend of of the work
that’s been done at the football clubs
and Trevor we’re all let’s give a round
of applause
first we’re all big football fans in
this room perhaps you more than anyone
has watched the most games of football
this season so we’ll start with League
two and get your thoughts on that rexam
and Stockport County already promoted as
perhaps measured even as far down as 15
those teams still with with a Chance of
mathematically making the playoffs I
mean the standard the competitiveness of
the division is quite something isn’t it
oh it’s it’s incredible I mean as a
proportion of the games I’ve seen this
season League 2 is is the one I’ve
watched the most and I never ceased to
be amazed at the quality of of the games
the
professionalism and you know just the
the the setup of the uh of the whole
league and the the camaraderie that I
get when I go around the clubs it’s
fantastic um congratulations obviously
to rexim and Stockport um they’ve had
great seasons and still a lot to play
for for some of the clubs in the league
mentioned that as well though but in
League one and League two leag in the
championship both automatic promotion
races look set to go to the W both
divisions once again utterly
absorbing yeah I mean that’s what makes
the efl great isn’t it it the the
Jeopardy uh every week there seems to be
a new twist and turn I was at leads
yesterday expecting uh a home win and we
got what we got so it it’s it’s it’s
just a wonderful league isn’t day never
a dull moment right on to our winners
let’s he the short list for the League 2
manager of the Season sponsored by
football
manager they may have missed out on a
playoff place last season but this time
around Mansfield Town looks strong
candidates for automatic promotion top
scorers and with the best defense in the
division Nigel K’s side have been
disciplined in their approach and for a
long time were the only unbeaten side in
all competitions across English
football MK Dons were in 16th position
when Mike Williamson joined the club in
October he has since guided them to
fourth place in an incredibly tight
League 2 table for a first managerial
job in the efl Williamson has adapted
seamlessly and crew Alexandra’s form
this season has been hugely impressive
Lee Bell who was initially appointed on
an interim basis has got his side
quietly going about their business
rising up the table and they are nestled
neatly in the playoff places well Trevor
if you could do the honors and tell us
who the award goes to please the winner
is and congratulations to Mansfield
towns
[Applause]
[Music]
Nigel with over a thousand games in
charge in a managerial career which has
spanned 25 years K’s commitment to the
football values he learned as a
youngster at Nottingham Forest in the
80s remains strong and true and his
passion in The Dugout burns brighter
than ever with three games to go the
Stags are in in Prime position for
automatic
[Music]
promotion well Nigel congratulations I
know you want to get back and sit down
as soon as possible but you nearly
didn’t come tonight you’re glad you did
now yes uh yeah if we hadn’t got a
better result last night I don’t think
we’d have made it I think you say if you
had got a better off you want to come
but no thank you so much it’s lovely to
see you as your job n I’m just going to
chip in I mean you celebrated 25 years
as a manager earlier on this season what
motivates you just to keep going year
after year uh I don’t know I think it’s
in the
jeans it must be but there’s so many
factors uh involved in our owners giving
us the time and the resources to
assemble a squad that’s challenged for
three seasons now the players have been
magnificent in their effort and the
character and it’s also for the other
staff who every manager will tell you
how important they are to you as well
Simon Gary and Andy we’ve worked
together over 25 years uh and of course
the most important person who in this
madness of our which we call our
industry I couldn’t imagine doing it for
one day never mind 25 years without me
wife well said sir well said Nigel many
many congratulations we wish you the
best of luck for the rest of the season
Nigel Club everybody well done
thoroughly deserve well done well done
enjoy
[Applause]
right I think Trevor and Matt you are
staying with us as we move on to League
one now where we’ve already talked about
just how unpredictable it can be missed
a couple of weeks of the action and the
lead table can look completely different
Jo it can so let’s find out who is
taking home the league one manager of
the Season award David our nominees
please as first managerial roles in
football go John musino couldn’t be
going much better in his debut season he
has almost achieved what others before
him couldn’t as pompy required just one
more point to secure their return to the
championship now in his fourth stint as
petersbur United manager Darren Ferguson
has changed the ethos of this team
bouncing back from last season’s playoff
heartache the youngest Squad in the
division are also the top scorers as
they seek championship football once
more Steve Evans stevenage fear no one
following promotion from Le 2 last
season they’ve been a surprise package
this campaign Evans arrived in sg2 with
the club facing relegation from the efl
with them now competing at the top of
the third tier in what is a very
different proposition for the
Scot and Trevor can you reveal our
manager of the season for League one
please and the winner is Portsmouth John
Miss
a left field appointment was how John
MHO described his naming as Portsmouth
head coach but the 37-year-old has
restored all hope at fratton Park he
recently spoke of his desire to reward
the longsuffering fans and he has
certainly given them something to shout
about this season with promotion within
touching
distance so John want’s have a chat
First full season as a manager top of
the League All Season by one week and
just a point needed it’s not gone too
bad so far is it yeah not too bad at all
wa we obviously would have loved to have
finished the job yesterday but we’ve got
a a big game on Tuesday night uh a point
does it and yeah hopefully we can get
the job done you called it a left field
appointment when you were appointed the
cheer from the table says it all the
fans cheer for you says it all as well
how much have you enjoyed it I mean have
absolutely loved it you know when when
the call came in I I didn’t expect to be
off of the job um even haven’t gone
through the interview process so you
know thank you for the club for for
taking that risk on me it was it was a
big risk and you know there was there
was a lot of faith that they put in me
to try and do what we’re trying to
achieve this week um and yeah really
really pleased for everyone involved I
mean the the players have been
incredible this year we got three Lads
in the team of the year it’s um that
probably gives me even more Pride than
than winning this to see them up there
in the team of the season so uh
everybody connected with with the whole
club as as obviously Nigel said they’re
one of my old managers you can’t do it
alone you need the staff um you need
know exactly the same not 25 years I was
going to say can you see s 25 years in
yeah oh absolutely yeah um but you know
just the one year my wife’s had to put
up with everything um and then obviously
the the other person will probably spend
more time than with my wife which is the
sporting director Rich Hughes so um he
put a lot of faith in me as well so so
really pleased for everybody connected
to the club well John so very very close
it’s a wonderful season so far everybody
John we’ seen
you welome John
a got
[Applause]
right okay it’s time for our final Award
of the
night it is the championship manager of
the Season yes what a season it has been
in the Sky Bet Championship again Mark
Robbins has taken commentry City to an
FA Cup semifinal and if switch Town well
what can we say h they continue to write
their own headlines under the leadership
of Kiera McKenna as they Edge closer to
a return to the Premier League for the
first time in 22 years
is and we’d like to finish this section
with a mention to Birmingham city boss
Tony mry who recently took a leave of
absence from the club due to health
reasons so it goes without saying we
wish Tony
well yes Emma beautifully put there so
let’s find out which gaffa is taking
home the grand prize David let’s have
the nominations now sponsored once again
by Football manager for the championship
manager of the season
what Kieran McKenna has achieved at IP
switch town is nothing short of
remarkable despite only being promoted
from League one last season McKenna’s
side are the championship’s top scorers
whose Never Say Die attitude has served
them well all season and they’re well in
the mix to achieve back-to-back
promotions despite being 17 points a
drift of top spot in the championship at
the turn of the year just two defeats in
2024 have seen Leeds United enter the
automatic promotion race with just one
loss at home all season Daniel farus
Cider on course for an immediate return
to the Premier
League and in his full first full season
as Hull City Manager Liam Ria has
instilled a togetherness fearlessness
and culture of care among his young
Squad in what has been a real season of
progress for the
club so for the big one Trevor who is
the championship manager of the season
have a look it’s iwit turn
Kieran
[Applause]
[Music]
McKenna a more than deserving Accolade
for a manager whose side continues to
defy the odds in what is no ordinary Sky
Bet Championship campaign fans call it
Kieran time at Portman Road as IP switch
Town fight until The Bitter End in every
game played his style of play is admired
by football fans Nationwide and players
continue to thrive in the the positive
atmosphere he has created in
suffk uh Kieran a huge huge
congratulations to you we know the
championship is a tough tough division
at times you seem to have taken to it
like a a Dr water you’ve made the Step
Up from League one look pretty easy how
have you managed it no it is tough it’s
um it’s certainly not been easy and it’s
it’s Testament to a whole lot of people
at the football club and uh you know I
can only thank all of them this this
Awards on behalf of everyone at the
football club from the board and and
mark the chief executive putting the
faith in me to you know the the work of
all the staff some of them who are here
enjoying their night tonight um and of
course from my coaching staff and most
of all from a great group of players as
well and the 3-2 win against Southampton
a couple of weeks ago is thrilling to
watch certainly is a neutral anyway that
last minute winner though I suppose it
really underlined the mentality in this
group of players that you’ve got so just
how proud are you of that determination
that they show week in week out that
willingness to win yeah it been
fantastic look it’s um as everyone here
knows it’s such a competitive division
so so many games are are tight so many
games go down to the last minutes and to
and to find margins and you can’t come
out on top every week but we’ve managed
to to find a way so many weeks and um
you know that’s a big Testament to the
group so kieren you’re almost there I
mean there there’s riches there’s the
Premier League on the horizon I mean is
the biggest motivator no more inan
questions from me we’ve had some good
times together the last few years about
time you admitted to it thank you I’ve
enjoyed it you’re almost there what gets
you over the
line we’ve got three big games now and
you know we take the first one first
we’re going up to to hold the play
Liam’s excellent uh side in a couple of
weeks time we’ll take that one first and
we got two more big games after that so
yeah we’ll do our very best there’s
there’s some top teams that are
competing and um it’s just nice to be in
it well K congratulations all the best
for the rest of the season my friend
thank you so
[Applause]
much thank you very much thank you

much right so the best way to win would
be all to look at each other and just
talk to each other yeah just like a

It was so good to see Chris kamara there so hard seeing Chris in that way
Summerville the best player in the championship 🏆🏆
You could tell he was abit uncomfortable up on the stage
His stage is a football pitch
Cummon Leeds let's do this
Impeccable camera work 😹
How has someone who only has 9 goals and 15 assists this season beaten someone who has 20 goals and 13 assists in the same season to being in the team of the season?
Where was phillogenes rabona goal for Hull City ? Goal of the season in any season. May be one of the greatest goals ever scored in England never mind the EFL
Mousinho is our king. What a tremendous season it's been for Portsmouth football club. When you see 3 players in the league one team of the season we know we've done something right! PUP!
Marlon Pack should have won League One player of the season. Of course he should have. But these awards nights are total cringe, so no big deal.
