world you are viewing this is uh cricket
360360 TV and we are live at the
national Cricket Center in balain couver
Trinidad and Tobago and this one today
an encounter that has become a yearly
encounter a charity match of sorts uh to
use the local pans here in Trinidad and
Tobago a fet match uh but it is in all
in good fun and a lot of bragging rights
on on the table uh it is the doctor’s
team versus the lawyers team uh this is
the second lawyers team because there is
the ttlc uh this is Team Titans who are
made up of lawyers and the match is
scheduled to get started in just about a
minute or two uh the umpires are already
uh outside of the Pavilion waiting to
walk onto the field with the players and
a couple couple minutes ago uh my
colleague visham lman was at the toss so
let’s find out what happened at that
time well it’s toss time at the national
Cricket Center is action in the doctors
versus lawyers 2024 and alongside me for
the toss to two captains uh Stefan Ramon
of the lawyers unit and Ravi rupnarine
of the doctor’s team so Stefan you have
the coin have the coin
flip good is the call
numbers numbers it
is right St you have won the toss we’re
going to have a field today reason for
that yesterday was a little bit of rain
and looking at the um the pit a lot of
moisture under the um the pit so we’re
going to try to take advantage with our
opening Bowlers and hopefully when we
come into about the pit draft a little
bit and how’s the mood in the camp it’s
good it’s good it’s very good it’s
optimistic the um we have the trophy
right now so we retain the the trophy so
um we’re going to try our best and and
hopefully we can’t victorious in here
and some players to look out for to and
our team we have um we have the open B
chrishan ja we have a young two
youngsters Jeremy rahu um played
Premiership division with um with Queen
spark of course Brandon marage also a
very good cricketer so we have good but
thr on through we have a good unit there
just like the doctors we have we have
two very good teams here today so thanks

I guess we just have to go out there and
do what we could and how’s the mood of
the doctor’s C yes similarly we have we
are looking we were looking forward to
this game this was planned quite a while
got canceled a few times Etc so today is
is finally the day that we get to play
this match and hopefully we can come out
Victorious and regardless of who wins we
just want to have a good time speaking
about who wins are confident going to
tole the lawyers today we’ll see when

the news from the center is that the
lawyers have won the toss and they’ve
elected to field
first so as you would have heard from my
colleague visham the lawyers have won

have won the toss and they have decided
uh to take to the field
first and just to run through uh the

the fat match circuit Cricket across the
country there’s a tournament going on in
Fatima as well T20 tournament between
the fat between the fet mar circuit
there’s at the start of the lineup Dr

Titans they are the the second lawyers
team the Trinidad Tobago Cricket the
Trin and Tobago lawyers Cricket
Association there in that uh uh
tournament that is going on at the
Fatima College ground uh presently and
it’s good to see all these uh all these
other people if you will playing Cricket
at this level of course uh there’s
nothing like the type of prize money
that we witnessed yesterday with the
completion of the CWI 4 day Championship
the West indes championships 2024 and of
course Guyana H Eagles defending their
title successfully running away with the
TT well I have to say running away in
the end but uh they were somewhere fifth
on the table after the first three
rounds uh coming out of sin kits Antiga
and Jamaica those first three rounds and
then the H eagers just seem to take up
steam but uh that was yesterday today of
course not the type of prize money like
that quarter of a million us doar uh but
the bragging rights have that type of
weight it feels like when you look at
games like this between the doctors and
the lawyers it feels like that bragging
right is about a half a million US
dollars of course yeah I had a team as
well that participated in this kind of
competition at the fet March level full
of Vis my team just handing the team
over to the youngsters there coming up
and coming youngsters you see the
lawyers team here taking the field yes
it’s very much for bragging right
there’s this tournament there’s a Fatima
T20 tournament there’s of course the
super series that these teams compete in
Super Series was set to take place at
the national Cricket Center as well
previously held at that ECT facility and
of course the Brian Davis Cup at the
Queens Park oval that one being a 30
over Affair these teams usually compete
very fiercely in that tournament and
it’s going to be fierce competition here
as well lawyers taking the field there
two slips immediately starting with a
third man that man stepan Ramy soon is a
third man the
captain doctors having First Strike we
expect to see Ravi rupnarine high up the
order very accomplished
batsman this level of cricket here
usually the players involved players who
participated at a younger age and in at
various l levels of cricket domestic
Cricket across the country and just
opting to shift away either be time time
and practice issues in terms of um
maintaining your professional career and
trying to get some Cricket in between so
this type of level usually attracts
players yeah I think uh that was one of
the things I learned the the first time
I did this game uh and another one for
the lawyers
uh last year this one just this one is
actually signal the wide I thought it
was looking from our vantage point and
uh the wiked keeper not able to collect
it but stopped well on the third man
boundary so not not a boundary but a
couple of runs added to the total so the
doctors are up and running here uh ctes
see the wide and the extra run that they
made uh and I learned that I think that
the this was the first time I did uh the
game last year because of course as we
said it it’s a year-to-year thing and I
was reminded that hey you have national
players who would have been in and
around this type of game and and and the
comradery like uh for example tishan
Maraj uh who who studied medicine at the
University of the West indes many years
ago he may not like me seeing many years
ago it makes us sound quite old Tian is
around my age uh but yeah you’re
absolutely right Billy you find a lot of
players who are around uh if if not the
national team or the national setup uh
you still find those who are around even
Club Cricket for example like stepen
Ramis soon he’s around that Central uh
Sports Club
unit and Loud
appeal it’s actually dropped thought he
had his man there did jaal did he
actually get bat on that I saw that
Rising delivery just of short of a
length just wondered if it just kicked
off the
Wicket yeah off the pitch yeah
additional bouns there off the pitch
which is uh quite strange to me usually
uh this NCC the national Cricket Center
surface the pitches on the Square not
always offering that type of early
bounce you see as the wind blowing
across there’s some dust kicking up as
well but there was a lot of rain here
yesterday the second lawyers team had a
game
here not quite sure who they played
against sober oh there’s a chance here
at the first slip just dropping off in
front of the second slip there played
with nice soft hands he did did
bridg and uh if you were with us last
year a couple of these names are are
returning names so you know they’ve been
playing cricket and they they’ve
committed to representing their
different disciplines if you will
doctors uh those who are lawyers uh of
course you have others uh your
politicians and and journalists and as
you mentioned the the quote unquote fat
match circuit around that Trinidad and
Tobago yeah these teams really evolve
from either a fraternity from college or
or from the workplace for instance you
have doctors and lawyers there a number
of lawyers joining into the profession
there so much so cricketing lawyers we
shall call them they they have been able
to feel two teams at the Brian Davis
tournament and two teams here practicing
again um lawyers will head back to
Guyana on May 29th some of them swearing
into the bar there across in Guyana so
they’ll have a little tour down there as
well yeah I got that news this morning
from the ttca and that will be the
official ttlc team that is going across
to gallana not this team this is the
team Titans here uh but of course as you
mentioned they’re all a part of that
fraternity uh many of them already
called to the bar some of them uh last
year we even saw that that there were a
couple of younger ones who were not
called to the bar yet they were still
going through their uh processes at at
the different universities but they were
around the team you know so all in in in
and around the fraternity most
definitely there one no W name matu
alaha my
neighbor he is there at Extra cover just
recently sworn into the
bar
representing Olive Court
development where we
reside accomplished batsman for
presentation college as well and as I
was saying just fraternity of of
professionals and as well as from
colleges as well Hill viw College uh
morphed into a team full of Vibes
previously known as Eno another team
competing Fatima College they their
their team as well sober that St
Anthony’s
college and of course sfbt sweeter from
behind another one of my neighbors plays
on that team sanj Dan just make special
mention of him good day to you
Sanjay a new bowler here at the end of
the first over four without loss of
course uh for those of you just joining
and first time viewing uh this encounter
between the doctors and the team Titans
it is a 30 over
aair and of course there are no set
regulations as you would have perhaps in
international type Cricket uh so there’s
no uh set regulations in terms of your
power play and so on yeah usually they
do there is that power play to uh to
fieldsman allowed outside the circle
just outside the the off
stomp or rather I should say seven in
the circle sometimes these teams not
everybody quite makes it to the game on
time as I see Mr Shawn Lynch just
arriving there for the doctor’s team
well well you say that and and and I I
say no no Set uh regulations by way of
Power Play because I’m remembering last
year uh I did one of the encounters the
team Titans at the University of the
West Indies and on that day they didn’t
uh employ the 30 yard Circle and and
those regulations but as I look up I I
see the 30 yard Circle marked of course
we’ve had a lot of cricket here at the
NCC over the last couple of weeks with
the secondary school’s cricket league uh
finishing up their intercal uh phase of
their season uh so they do employ it now
right they do take take part as I
mentioned in that Fatima T20 tournament
the Brian Davis Cup as well as the Super
Series so those are the more competitive
versions of the fet match cricket which
the regulations are in place for those
tournaments 20 overair usually lifted up
and over uh that extra cover area it’s
going to go into the boundary now so the
first boundary here for the doctors uh
coming in the second over moving their
tally up to eight without loss and a
good looking shot from ram ram ratan
just nicely in line and bringing the
hands through nice high elbow and just
lifting got the length that allowed him
to get up and under it and lift it over
the extra cover area yeah these players
usually just practice at indoor
facilities uh some of them you’ll see
glimpses of proper technique sometimes
you’ll see some agricultural shots at
this level but as I said they do compete
in these tournaments and it is very
competitive when they do short outside
the a cut away for another boundary
Jared yeah this time given the width and
the length even shorter on this occasion
from
ner he just ambling up there gentle run
to the crease there and what I like
about ramatan on that shot he actually
got that back leg across to give himself
The Leverage to just lean back and play
that cut shot and then of course you
can’t talk about a shot like that
without talking about the the Precision
of Gap finding on that
occasion yeah he had sufficient time
enough with that one there to place it
through the Gap there might just want to
employ there is a third man might just
want to employ a sweeper there as a
shaky start there from navine marage
couple boundaries in the over just one
ball to
come but these games here treated
usually like warm-up games for those
competitions so they a little more
relaxed with the regulations course
these games played across many different
facilities across Trinidad and Tobago
some even at the Brian L facility as I
might mention of another team that
competes in the tournament real real
Captain by Colin bour none another from
the tkr team I saw Mr board at the over
yesterday was it or or day before yeah
day before yesterday he was there in the
Pavilion it’s enjoying the game
competitive game at the W there between
the leward islands and the Winwood
Islands see a couple doves there nesting
inside of the alloy leoy building
Administrative Building here at the
NCC there was a lot of rain yesterday
for that game here so the Outfield would
have been a little damp maybe and the
pitch would have been covered as well
for a prolonged period of time so
perhaps just swe getting under those
covers there tend to get a little slow
bounce off the pitch leftand of navine
marage continues from that Northern end
wide outside they off stump and through
the keeper but the first slip is there
gathers yes so these game Street I my
team as well participated in a t in a
comp competitive match which is really a
memorial game but played at a very high
competitive level the guy hanis Memorial
Tournament which takes place here at the
NC
guy hanis uh pass judge SW into the
industrial
Court passed away playing for both teams
at the time he passed he was playing for
the full of Vibes team against the
lawyers team at the Eddie har facility
so that game takes place annually think
fob has bragging rights three wins for
them one win for the lawyers team who
currently hold the trophy
ramatan has looked good in his Innings
thus
far good use of the feet to get across
getting in
line coming around the Wicket now bridg
L these games are 30 over Fair these
batsmen have ample time to play
themselves in even though there’s a
power play quite often in these games
the teams lose a lot of wickets so the
batting goes all the way down to number
11 even the number 11 gets an
opportunity to have a go with the bat
Tity was being a long Affair at this
level another goodl looking shot there
this time it’s bridgelal driving it down
getting off the mark man placed a little
deep at long off allowing the
single a bit overcast here at the end CC
no threat of rain
however some gray clouds around yeah a
lot of Sahar and dust in the air as well
it’s quite hazy in Trinidad and Tobago
at present of course we
in the height of the dry
season and you tend to find this type of
weather these type of
conditions especially the eastern part
of the Caribbean more so all that
Saharan dust coming across the Atlantic
from the continent I was making my way
down from shagas to this facility here
normally I would be able to get a view
of the central range but no such
luck Fuller in length it lifted up and
over but it’s just going to plug on the
edge of uh the big Square here at
NCC allow the Fielder to run around and
uh pick up so at the end of the third
over uh the doctors are 16 without
loss yeah good start here is getting a
couple boundaries maneuvering the ball
around taking the odd
single good start here you want to bat
as long as possible see through the
power play of course some of the
families friends other doctors and
lawyers because of course the guys are
playing here but of course you have
female lawyers female doctors uh these
guys their wives their girlfriends their
brothers their sisters their family
always come out to support and it’s
always a a fun Affair as as if we in
Trinidad and Tobago need another excuse
to make something fun lots of food and
drinks
around most
definitely previous captain of this
doctor’s team Dr Deale
hrana he’s on the executive of the golf
club now he’s given up Cricket somewhat
I’m very sure he will be here later on
partake of some of the beverages on hand
pretty sure the coolers are packed very
cooled see the captain coming off the
field
there wondering just picked up a slight
niggle substitute fieldsman is on looks
like Gino marage is on the field there
taking position at
midon had the honor of batting in a
couple Partnerships with Gino marage
exciting left hand
batsman very
aggressive expect to see him at some
point when the lawyers do get their turn
at bat normally bats around that number
four five position in the
order cut away again not finding the Gap
they started in and around that five run
to the over Mark which would get them up
to 50 and you would think in an
encounter like
this 150 should be
competitive well they try to bat in
Partnerships and with the loss of
wickets especially coming down lower
down in the order let they save a pin
[ __ ] for the end typical totals are
normally around 180 to the 200 mark
yeah I do recall last year one of these
games that we did uh the total got up to
just under 200 somewhere in that
vicinity of that 180 190 Mark that
you’re talking
about for the other 30 over competition
the Brian Davis Cup held at the
oval looking for that cut shot again to
one that’s too wide on this occasion and
the Umpire does the needful get a bit of
exercise for those
arms some official umpires for this
encounter both teams
Keen to one up the
other nice executed full delivery right
up under the
bat we were speaking about the
regulations as well and we mentioned
that power play overs believe it’s the
first six overs of power play similarly
in that 30 over Affair at the
oval but there are a couple other
regulations to
mention usually for the competitive
version of the games you can have former
Trinidad and Tobago players over the age
of 40 West Indies players as well Gordon
grinich played in a quite a few years
ago when he was over 40 years of age
played in that tournament
loud appeal but that appeal coming
really from behind the bat only the slip
Fielder no one else was supporting him
so possibly just drifting down the leg
side but the end of another over 17
without loss the doctors after four
overs being invited to bat first by team
titans of the lawyers makeup and of the
lawyers
fraternity yeah
they just add
on to that 40 years of age sometimes you
that all we see Jason Mohammad still
representing Trinidad and Tobago just
added a little regulation there that you
must not have played at the Premiership
level for a 2-year
period Ricardo Pati has joined the
Fatima team just upon turning 40 and he
also hadn’t played Premiership Cricket
for that two-year period qualifying him
to play at this level these types of
tournament similarly for the t20s those
regulations would apply in the Fatima
tournament as well as the super
series but you are
allowed Championship
players once they have not represented
Trinidad and
Tobago and you only allowed two
struck on the
pad Shake of the head not out says the
Umpire a very competitive tournament
that takes place in the Endeavor Premier
League the Endeavor Club runs that
tournament that regulation exists there
for them when you allow two of those
players in your
team Super Series tournament as well
similar
regulation not here today however
this one is lifted in the air but will
drop a few yards shy of that field that
long off in fact that man is in fact
straight he’s behind the bowler’s arm in
fact of course the angle of the camera
made it look like he was at long off and
as you look up you can see from where we
approached he’s actually directly behind
the bowler uh so possibly a bit of a
plan there
coming to fruition getting ramratan
hitting in the air in that direction
there again hitting just in the air just
slightly short brief shot of the
helicopter we are located very close to
the C Camden airport for small aircraft
and helicopters as well used by the
offshore companies as well as the Coast
Guard that helicopter there just with a
national colors painted on it in the
shape of the national flag truck again
but possibly a bit of bat on that one as
well a couple appeals in the over here
for
jagal good left arm coming around the
Wicket did opt for around the Wicket
previously he’s back over the Wicket now
to ramratan a couple drives outside the
off stum but he had has had a couple
deliveries come back into him the
batsman ramratan Striking him on the PA
up is a little high I would suggest yeah
had a Brisk start they were going in the
first three to four overs at just around
five it’s just come down now under four
with a couple of dot deliveries as this
one is Stripped Away on the leg side
coming down a bit uh under four that run
rate so again being a 30 over encounter
it allows a little bit more time as as
you said Billy that they can have a look
and uh they should not be too bothered
by the fact that okay we started at
around 5 to the over and now it’s
dropped down to three and a half 3 and 3
quarter and uh they can take some time
and build we only now coming up the end
of the fifth over the bowling has gotten
a bit tighter from that end as well
better control shown from
Jaga you could see there very closely
that wrist position of his [ __ ] trying
to get that inward movement into the
right hand
batsman yeah just going back to uh as we
come to the end of the over that field
position right behind The Bard
they they have come in here with a plan
and they they know they would know as
you as we’ve been talking about from uh
from the beginning of the broadcast the
fact that these type of games are played
uh in many of the tournaments around the
country so these players although they
are different teams different
fraternities they would know each other
and they they do have now that we’re in
that era of cricket where data it’s so
data driven uh that they do have
possibly some information on possibly
Ram ratan or bridg that they know okay
he likes to hit that direction he likes
to hit that direction most definitely
we’re going to set a field accordingly
yeah the Super Series tournament the
scor on the cricket the Crick HQ app so
all the statistics are there for a
tournament taking place three years in a
row just see just got a shot of
our Steve Hussein former Trinidad and
Tobago under 19 player doing the food
delivery runs a k ENT in business just
give him a little plug there to Steve
Hussein provides the meals for these
types of games
regularly he’s a good rightand batsman
under 19 player that’s what or that’s
what the cameraman was showing a lunch
arrived well he was showing the player
who happened to be carrying the
food I think I think he was showing the
food in the air again but it’s going to
clear the infield it’s going to plug in
the midwicket region there another
couple of runs here
to the doctor’s team I I think a a
cameraman realized that it was about
that time of the day most definitely had
to make my way hastily down to the
ground the lunchtime over on a Sunday
hope you all out there enjoying your

he has been known to bat very long when
he bats makes a number of 50s for his
team the doctors he’s a good score he’s
been very prolific over the years
opening batting loves the Cover Drive
this one back with a point in the air
but dropping just short of the
Fielder and bouncing away to
third of course there is so much cricket
being played around the world of course
you have the IPL you have a lot of
women’s cricket being played you also
have a lot of
T20 uh encounters bilateral series with
a couple of the Nations that are
preparing for the World Cup of course we
just just just over one month away from
uh something that’s out of this world
the countdown is on online for the World
Cup and if you if youve Had Your Eyes
glued to the uh cricket West Indies
social media in particular you would
know that uh the the trophy has made its
way from Antiga Barb from Barbados to
Antiga Barbuda and it’s now landed in
the lap of a man who’s held it twice in
and one Darren Sami our head coach it’s
made its way through St Lucia as well so
before time it will be here in Trinidad
and Tobago to make its way around and
then possibly down to Guyana as well um
I don’t have the schedule of where the
Trophy goes uh but it’s definitely a
spectacle to know that we have a
tournament of that caliber here in the
region yeah Darren Sam will want to hold
on to that trophy for a third time in
this time his capacity as coach
and it’s ironic that they were having a
a walk through one of the mountains one
of the trails they at St Lucia and and
he was videotaping and he said who’s
holding the trophy not me and one of his
other colleagues was carrying the the
trophy through that uh trail that they
were making their way uh to one of the
locations to you know share with the
public you know this is what’s coming to
you this is what is all going to be
about in just about a month and and and
two weeks
time in the air up and over it’s cleared
the field it’s cleared the boundary rope
I think yes it has and first Maximum
here in this encounter they just into
that final over of power play both
batsmen going aial want to take
advantage of the remaining deliveries in
that
over partnership 33 runs off 36
deliveries look at that shot there again
he making room with that left foot
getting enough room for the arms to
swing through the line of that ball
always intentioned intended to hit it in
the
air acoss the atab Balon stadium in the
shot there just to the north of us and
we speak about the IC T20 World Cup of
course at of Bal on one of our Premier
Olympians from Over the year and has
been responsible for the careers of so
many young ones around like AB Briana
Williams out of Jamaica
uh speaking of ATU of course we have in
about three months time uh 3 to four
months time the Paris
Olympics so a a lot of sports and a lot
of big events on the horizon of course
the Women’s World Cup Cricket World Cup
is also right around the corner hence
the number of women’s bilateral series
that you see going on now as well Sri
Lanka
uh beating South Africa women in their
T20 leg and then losing in the 50 over
leg did you make mention of the West
Indies wom victory over Pakistan winning
that series two to I I haven’t yet
because that one would would definitely
be near and dear to my heart because uh
to see St Stefan Taylor making a half
century last well last night our time uh
it’s really heartwarming she is the
greatest of all time uh coming out of
this region is is Miss Taya the legend
herself 72 I believe she scored getting
play of the match she did and and and
it’s it’s so heartwarming to see the
growth of the women’s game uh you you
had just about a week ago three of the
Premier batters in the women’s game
getting ODI sentries and not just ODI
sentries but big ODI sentries as this
one has played big uh but it doesn’t get
past the Fielder of course I’m talking
about that day where you had Laura wval
getting 150 plus and then chamari atatu
doing a one better and carrying her team
home to the largest total ever chased
down 302 I think it was in the wom’s ODI
version and then later that day you had
Haley Matthews our captain here uh the
The Prodigy I call her she notching she
notched up her fifth ODI Century
struck on the pad Shake of the head not
out they think of a run and uh it’s not
there but luckily he’s sent back in time
possibly just drifting down the leg side
with the angle uh coming
from wide on the crease yeah the run
there from Amit just an afterthought
really the ball trickled out into the
Outfield the cover fieldsman there
wasn’t really pay attention was
concentrating more on the appeal he is a
little bit deep out there so the
opportunity was there for the single the
non Striker bridg L wasn’t
interested on the leg
side this is one of the features you
find with games at these level you get a
number of extras particularly wide
deliveries down the leg side Bowlers
usually just having indoor session
indoor sessions at the Queens Park
overall or wherever whatever facility
they can find to get a knock in of
course the Mary’s College has that
indoor facility as
well another indoor facility at the
Evolution Fitness Center in shonas teams
taking advantage of
that so V ramsook also plays for the
lawyers team competitive
teams he uses that facility as well for
his training former Mr Trinidad and
Tobago out of presentation
college he’s not here today however in
the air and dropping just
short so chances being created here you
would think with the number of
deliveries that have been played in the
air where they’re finding uh the wide
open acreage in between the the the
fielders so moving on to the end of the
seventh over could have easily been
probably about three or four wickets
down had some of those in the air shots
gone to hand uh but at the end of the
seventh over uh 34 without loss few
of just behind the national Cricket
Center the main road coming out of
couver you can get a lot of Indian
Delicacies there along that road there a
lot your pies and your sahena of course
your
doubles it’s always something special
about doubles in the Central Area also

there was a tournament held by the law
association across the Caribbean to
select that team was very competitive
indeed feeling a good team on that tour

of that team he initiated this lawyer’s
team I think thankfully some of these
guys they don’t play at that level so
when they hit the ball it’s it’s not hit
uh with the absolute perfection and
timing and that would probably carry it
to fielders the quality of the bats as
well won’t be that first grade Willow a
couple of players do have a couple I
have a couple myself at home did mention
that story about a diner Drive in
particular but I have a couple
mrf I have a mrf from the Rajasthan
Royals Stadium a fac a store that was
located just outside of that rajastan

third unfortunately I couldn’t get a

looking forward to is the trinida the

bolt he’s made himself available for New
Zealand Devon Conway as my producer

between bridgelal and ramratan so good
going on them that is in in the context
of a 30 over encounter that the type of
start you you would want from your
openers 50 runs in that first 10 overs
uh uh period it without losing a wicket

whether they’ve been scoring fluently or
not the main thing is believe that
they’ve gotten to 50 runs in the first
10 overs so with 20 overs to go they
still have all 10 wickets in hand they
can probably push on closer to that 200
run Mark that you spoke about yeah and
with the likes of Ravi rupnarine in the
line up and sha Lynch to come they can
definitely push on two very aggressive
batsman adep to using up those middle
overs are turning over the strike as
well as getting the on odd boundaries of
the Spinners when they do come on
they’ve been known to have 100 runs

two suspect that Ravi might come into

so with a big hits to come in and
provide some impetus to the Innings it

them uh the team in Fatima’s tournament
is actually the team that will be going
across to Guyana uh the
ttcl ttca I beg your pardon and uh this
one at the drinks
break 71 for1 I believe 74
for1 after
14 just awaiting our Graphics man to get
it back up for
us they always play tricks when I’m I’m
working at the graphics
Department yeah raho was bowled one
delivery switching ends with the captain
Ramy soon opting to ball from the
southern end so he switched
ends seems to
be another bowling change at that end
there you go Graphics man has helped me
out and he’s put the graphic up so it’s
a 75 for one after 14
overs going at a healthy
5.36 so the doctors eyeing up here

year they’ve always had a team on paper
that looked very strong that can take
the title was starting off with Chris
Gil and verad kohy at the top of that
order AB Villas coming down breaking
smashing batting records not being able
to take their team to a
title and this year you have at the top
of the order faf
dupy and you wonder like what has going
wrong but that that’s the the the way of
sport that you get you get teams with
all these Superstar names and they just
can’t put it together
again just finding the
fielders there’s been a change of

particular and the way our medical
fraternity is and our medical system
they are always busy always on
call just trying to guide that one with
surgical Precision pass point but not
quite able to execute many of them still
do practice in the public system and the
public system is where your time is just
sapped up and especially if you’re in
into specialized the area perhaps like
uh uh Orthopedics or or neurology and
you’re a surgeon and you you have
surgeries all day long sometimes you
want to protect those fingers of
yours well that’s amazing to me that
they do find time to you know have a
little knock in a in a Nets or in the
backyard at home or something that
allows them to come play in tournaments
like these or or or or competitive fat
matches like these it’s always amazing I
think lawyers as well are not not much
different because when you think okay a
lawyer they just have to go and stand up
in court it’s not exactly that

them six runs and I think he himself
forgot that was a free hit because he
held on for a while and was about to
celebrate how much runs did they get
there though just one just one in the in

interim so not a bad delivery in the end

deliveries you can get hit for six or a
boundary that one near a full toss again

other days the full toss will create a

ending up well the lawyers team have
been known to get two to 200 runs and in
excess of 200 runs in a good day
somewhere around 225 they would want to
be eyeing in the last 10 overs or so
would put them just over 10 runs and
over to get there it has been done
remember the caliber of players we have
out there there’s a lot of room in the
Outfield however the one factor that may
be critical in that is that it a lot of
rain fell yesterday and the ground is
very saturated calling off that game
between sober and the lawyers team
yesterday so they may not get a lot of
or get a lot of runs that would take
them to that total normally here at the
NCC Outfield is really fast at at most
times
nice quick a delivery from Raj might
just want
to adjust for
that terms of how much runs they’re
going to get in these last 10 overs of
course uh the the benefit here for the
team Titans as this one is thrown weird
on the leg
side the benefit here
for the Titans team is that they now
have going into the back end of the
Innings two new batters at the crease

thought of you have to hit boundaries
sometimes that aggressive running you
end up a 12 and an over because you turn
singles into twos I’ll tell you what on
a normal NCC Outfield if that rain
hadn’t fall that type of ball running
down there to backward Square would have
gone for four
normally again to three men on the onite
are they going to no they just going to
look for one see a chance there of two
but it’s that man araho out in the Deep
they’re deciding and that’s one of the
things I was about to mention when you
was talking about running between the
wicked you want to pick your fieldsman
as well and aru and marage are not two
you want to be taking chances against in
the field there a lot of chances that
you can get otherwise not to be harsh to
the lawyers team in that instance though
I think Lynch and rupar it was more
about conservation of energy than
anything because AR had a long way to go
from the boundary to get to the ball so
there was the possibility I think of the
second and this over marage do has been
straying down the leg side and I guess
you can probably understand the plan
because arahu is on the boundary so he’s
probably trying to get Lynch or rupar to
hit in the air that way uh it’s a
dangerous Ploy as we come to the end of
the 21st over 119 for three uh eight
runs coming in that over it’s a
dangerous Ploy because the direction of
the wind presently he’s hitting with the
wind and so the Fielder is not going to
necessarily matter exactly so you’ve
done a lot of games here at the NFC
facility seen a lot of games here as
well a lot of balls a lot of shots get
hit towards that bamboo area there down
by the river for that specific reason
that the wind takes it that far and
heads down in that direction so it’s
very peculiar particularly with him
targeting middle and leg as well as his
line although you want to get the
batsman to hit against the turn but a
lot of boundaries come in that area now
here in this over you can see it’s a
similar plan with Gino marage out on the
is it Gino
I think it ISO has moved mid he’s at
Deep midwicket So the plan here is is a
little better because you’re getting him
hitting into the win you’re giving G
Maraj an opportunity having said that
he’s nicked one off and the Wicket
keeper and vice captain of the team
annal Ram takes another catch and a
third a fourth Wicket down now for the
doctors team
yeah that’s a big big Wicket there for
the lawyers team the most prolific
batsman in this team over the years
Robie going after a wide one there
there’s Ram following that ball right
behind it any Edge there he was going to
snap it up and that he did the prize
Wicket of ravy rupner going for eight
day and Ramy soon getting another
breakthrough yeah again this is the
other side of the back end of an Innings
because you get the the acceleration in
scoring but sometimes in going after
that acceleration you end up losing
wickets
Anton Julian comes to the middle and uh
the loss of wickets now that 10 runs to
the over from the last 10 overs that you
mentioned might be possible uh doesn’t
look that likely with still eight overs
and four deliveries to go uh but I tell
you something I we always hear it we
always see it it’s almost cliche a runs
on the board a runs on the board you
have to remember it is a slowish
outfield as well so they want to adjust
that total from that 200 maybe to around
180 runs they are just 60 away so I
think it’s quite possible to will get
that 60 runs in the remaining
8.4 overs or so I’ve have been saying
from uh the beginning of the broadcast
though that I think 150 as a minimum you
got to get 150 as a minimum so they’re
31 runs away from from from 150 they
have to get to my estimation as this one
gets Julian Off the Mark immediately
with a quick
single it’s going to actually be a quick
two runs because the ball taking a bit
of a bad bounce on the turf there
getting away from the Fielder and the
misfield allows the second run but I
think that 150 not just the
psychological nature of it but again
taking into consideration all the the
the conditions that you’ve just
mentioned and that we have mentioned the
breeze Factor uh The sogginess Still Of
The
Outfield probably a turning pitch well
it would depend on another thing as well
another Factor another key factor jagal
is off the field I don’t think he’s
going to come back to bowl through the
gate normally in these games as well
another part of the regulations is that
you can bow all 13 of your squad but
only 11 of them can bat so you can have
a man substitute on two ball jagal off
to feel now we have to find his make up
his overs from
somewhere and there’s evidence a bit of
a this one keeping low on that occasion
so the the the conditions 150 uh should
be their first goal and anything above
150 should be a bonus so 22 overs
completed possibly let’s say in the next
four to five overs you’re looking at
getting uh the remaining uh
20 OD runs 25 other runs to get you
close and
then from there you push on above 150
yeah this is where the game this is
where sometimes batsmen will get that
additional runs and the factor here we
speak about is that fourth and fifth
bowler because Ramy has bowled out his
six so has jagal other bowler Brandon
Mirage see he’s gone four overs so just
two overs to come from him so you’ll
have to make up the rest of the
overs six overs to come to come from
somewhere and that is where teams tend
to capitalize on that fourth and fifth
bowler marage here continuing ball is

seing ball to me a couple times in the
Nets at

home he’s going to toss up his off
Spinners here to Lynch see how he
goes that one just a little bit too

with uh Mirage before but uh what has

be a lot tighter in their line and
length not give away as many runs so if
you can get a good start against them
and a good start doctors did have
against them with bridg and ramberan
initially getting up to about 74 runs
before that first Wicket

he’s bow five
overs this his last over there’ll have
to be a bowling change for that end as
well so we’ll have to see two new
Bowlers saw alah high in the last over
but we’ll have to have another new
bowler ball from that South End

kind of footwork calling for it they’re
coming back and they’ll make it easily
in the end not that powerful of a throw
from one Gino Mirage yeah we could
keeper Ram there just calling on him to
get that throw in he has to get
something behind the ball beside his
feet he has to go down with that long
barrier sometimes at that age when we
get to that age it’s a little difficult
to get down to those deliveries

deliveries and he really anchored the
Innings of sorts through the first half

it was really all about ramatan and just
uh creating that platform that has now
allowed Lynch and Julian to come and
play with some
freedom and now with 139 on the board
with five overs remaining uh that 150
Mark should be in the bag and possibly
looking to 175
now definitely if they can find a way to
get a run a ball from here on out is
going to get them to
169 you add a couple boundaries in the
mix and you’ll get up to
180 yeah it’s definitely the Target in
mind for lawyers get there with a ball
like get a little more with a ball like
that though it’s not going to be that’s
the problem Jared this is the fifth
baller here it looks to
be na’vi marage I think
we’ll get that confirmation in a

that’s what you want the 150 now is on

boundary so they’ve gotten to that Mark

about another short and wide one I can’t
beat the backward Point Fielder and so
they’ve gotten now Billy they have
arrived they have tallied up that score
I spoke about and they still have 24
deliveries to go and four overs to come
as well and that four overs likely

end Brandon marage has completed his

believe yeah one for 39 from him so
we’re going to have to have a bowling
change and this is where the weaknesses
come in the latter overs you tend to get
a lot more freebies from the part-timers
if you do have your proper order or top
order and middle lad of batsman in there
they can really do some

your favor when you are in amongst the
runs you would not want araho to produce
a better delivery except to be a little
bit faster to breach the defenses there

back that momentum to your opponents and

batting there you could see that shot
working it around timing it to
Perfection getting it down to that long
leg boundary for for a man is in that
position now with J coming around the
Wicket resuming around the Wicket
rather better delivery pitch upop angled
into the pads
full sometimes there’s a little bit of
an uphill incline there at this end if
Bowlers are not too familiar when
they’re running up to that popping
crease on an incline sometimes it tends
to affect your run up your stride tends
to be shorter not quite reaching the pop
increase doing well so far to make the
adjustment around the
wicked probably have to refer him to the
research department at Mount Hope for
the those
biomechanics one thing for sure it’s
going to be an afternoon full of puns
with these two teams playing lawyers
versus says

world this one whipped away through
midwicket and it’s going to race through
across the boundary he’s such a good
time of the ball very good to look but I
said I’m a fan of his from the past and
you could see why just picking that one
up launching it there it’s into the
bleachers and excellent shot for six it
carried a long way past the boundary and
even though there’s not much Breeze at
the present moment generally the balls
travel going in that direction I batted
with Gino a couple times a couple games
we played for the full of Vibes team
it’s a very good stroke maker not quite
sure about his running in the wickets we
did have a couple sword fighting issues
yes and no back and forth but one thing
is for sure he can time the ball
I just want to go back to John and uh of
course as I was mentioned these guys he
he may have a build let’s say like a
Joel Garner but he’s nowhere near that
caliber so the expectation of him being
like a jeel Ghana may not be realistic
as this one again he Strays down the leg
side and has whipped away around the
corner back with a square for four and I
think he just has to keep it simple
and eventually coming to the end of his
over I take it’s some uh 11 deliveries
was it couldn’t quite get the count
there I’ll have to get the confirmation
from our
director but it uh it it was one of
those long overs but it was kind of it
was so by my count it was nine actually
uh from our Graphics department and uh
again not not uh 11 from the director so
my Graphics department is playing a
trick on me
again so with that second over now
completed 11 coming from it 75% of those
runs in that over coming via the extras
route a couple of free hits in that over

Umpire as a well executed yoka seem to
strike him on the tour as well just by
his
reaction walking a little bit gingerly

now but at the end of a three 29 for
one Stefan Ramis soon he is a proper
batsman he’s made a couple hundreds in
the past
you can see it from his technique as
well his running in between the wickets
a very intelligent cricketer Stefan rapu
the captain of the lawyers
team goodlooking batsman when he’s in
form hopefully we’ll get to see the sum
of it the doctors would not want to see
too much of it
though it’s all a fun event there out
there but they do take it very seriously
their own personal performances as a
bowling change now
and this bowling change probably would
have been very predictable given the
first over that John had from this end

the bat now he has ball in hand J
yeah usually when you have that good a a
run with the bat when you come to ball
as an allrounder it transcends and it
does not on this first delivery
difficult for Julian these players you
know with that right hand left hand
combination as I said they’ve not been
practicing too much probably just some
indoor session and just match Fitness
really if they played a couple of games
for the season thus far usually the fat
match league starts somewhat in March
April because all the facilities are
being used by the national
competition struck on the p no way was
going to be given out from there given
that it’s struck on the pad outside leg

bowling as well and what a delivery
there to get through the defensives of
the captain Stefan Ramis soon and that
is a big Wicked there you was struck on
that ankle didn’t quite seem to get full
forward there and being bold between bat
and pad and between middle and off stump
what a delivery there from Julian yeah
that delivery definitely deserves a 10
out of 10 from Julian and the second
breakthrough here after that mishap of
sorts of the second over that went for
11 11 deliveries and went for plenty
runs uh the the doctors not seem to have
gotten
back in order yeah they’re very much on
top of their game now 205 runs just
being that much more difficult now with
the fall of the captain’s
Wicket exactly what the doctors order
two quick strike early strikes Jeremy
arahu will walk in at number
four I think the game would hinge on him
now with the loss of the captain there
he is the most
recognizable and solid player with most
experience if you will on the Titans
unit just over a run of ball required

and you never want to see those type of
incidents on any sporting field or any
sporting Arena where athletes are are
damaged no matter the level of sport
that you engage in of course uh Billy is

that a situation that we always quarrel
with about or or or we always make a
fuss about about with even International

at this level of a cricket because

end they strung together some tight
