all right your super Cy Billy Foster has
the lighthouse head cover on your driver
again as you make your way around here
at Harbor toown but this year you’re a
returning Champion I mean what are the
emotions coming back here in a place
where you and your family Used to
Vacation yeah just just excitement
really um yeah just looking forward to
the week as a whole it’s obviously a
little bit different coming coming back
as a as a champion so uh you know got to
defend that title this year but um yeah
it’s just a special place for us and um
it’s always an ex week is there a memory
that sticks out from last year just the
the playoff hole you know yeah when
you’re not get that close yeah that was
good although someone reminded me of the
hilarious story that did happen we were
looking for dinner after uh I’d done
everything and we go to uh we ended up
in Papa John’s the pizza place and um
we’re in there me and Katherine and my
fiance and uh someone said oh yeah the
golf just finished and and I think
Catherine or me said oh who would that
and the guy was like oh Fitzgerald or
something so uh yeah we got a good laugh
out of that that’s for sure uh what did
you used to do as a kid when you came
here to Hilton Head Island vacation
played played a lot of golf uh we did I
only played that here a couple times I
think um maybe once um but uh yeah just
played played a lot of golf we go around
the area different golf courses on the
island off the island kind of you know
go to the beach a little bit um so yeah
just just a lot of fun did you have a
favorite
spot uh we we had a few yeah we had a
few we’d always go and play uh I don’t
know what you call it over here but we
play mini golf so we we always going to
do that that was always fun in the
evenings uh after dinner we always had a
good laugh but uh yeah it’s just a a
special place for us so you’ve had some
interesting equipment issues this year
uh a weight that you found in your
driver that was accidentally there and
you’ve taken it out can you walk us
through there what happened yes so I
mean I was doing some testing in 20
start of
2023 uh had weights in the grip of my
irons and it worked for about two 3
weeks and then didn’t work so but whilst
they were in we tested some stuff with
the driver as well and yeah just
completely forgot to take it out like an
idiot but that was all my fault and once
it was out you started playing better
I’ve been driving it better that’s for
sure definitely been driving it better
all right well you have been playing
better your last three starts a fifth
place finish the players top 10 finish
at Valero top 25 finish at the Masters
how would you describe your game as you
defend this championship this week I’m
getting worse if you say that you about
that Trend um yeah I mean it’s not
exactly where I want it uh there’s no
doubt about that there’s there’s still a
few things you know I want to whine out
but um I feel like I’ve been playing
playing better and been putting well as
well which is is one of my big big
strengths so um yeah for me it’s just
just sort of keep working at it and keep
trying to figure it out you know it’s
golf’s the forever game of trying to
figure it out you know no one no one’s
done it other than scottty chefer yet
tiger that’s true finally besides
getting that cool plat jacket you also
get to help design a a a hamburger a
cheeseburger this one uh bacon cheese
aoli um the Fitzy we’ll call it the
Fitzy I don’t think it’ll sell very well
I’ll be honest but yeah that was good
forun I got the sent through this sheet
all the told want you to create a custom
burger and um did it obviously tried it
in my press conference today and uh it
was pretty good actually really did you
eat the whole thing half if I had eaten
the full thing I’d have passed out in a
food coma that’s what world class
athletes do and by the way it’s a side
of chips not fries right exactly exactly
