Ed’s a first rounder no question he’s
worth taking him somewhere in the first
round just go hey you know what like if
we’re going to be wrong let’s be wrong
with him but I think the problem is is
against specific matchups he’s going to
be a liability defensively it might not
be about ‘s defense we’re talk about him
as a prospect it might be about well
what’s he going to be on offense and
how’s a team going to use him because
you’re just G to what are you g to do
run post-ups in today’s NBA the game has
changed we have 11 players this season
getting three or more postup touches a
game 10 years ago it was 60 so even if
you like edting and you go all right
defensively we’re going to have to
protect him we can’t expose him certain
ways there’s going to be nights where he
gets attacked maybe you know have to
take him off the floor we didn’t think
he was going to be our guy starting at
Center for 30 minutes a night but what
are you g to do with him on offense if
nobody’s doing any of that stuff that
he’s really good at right now

  1. Well isn't it obvious? Whoever is taking him is gonna post him up or move him down low for offensive rebounds and putbacks. You dont have to post all night and noone is considering that he might develope a reliable mid-range or even a 3. I've seen him practicing 3s and it dont look bad, his FT form dont look that bad.

  2. He's good in pick &roll as a dunk and oreb threat. Could see him becoming a Drummond, Nurkic, DeAndre Jordan type player

  3. I get Jahlil Okafor vibes

Not a standout defender, no real jumper, ko ability to stretch the floor, but has very good post moves and touch.

I don't know how you make that work. But maybe someone will

  4. I watched him in person against Gonzaga and Tennessee. My hot take: He’s good. But he’s not future all-star good. Role player/sixth man.

  5. Best outcome is edey gets a tall lanky pf to get paired up with him that can also stretch the floor, Jonathon issac or a Jaren Jackson jr, his problem is kinda the complete opposite of Karl Anthony towns on the wolves when they traded for gobert, edey is the gobert in this situation and he is gonna need a 2 way pf to really excel in this league

  6. I noticed that he was a weakness if you attack his dribble. Before he gets the ball up if you pressure him on the dribble he gives it up.

  7. Did ppl just forget Ivica Zubac exists?? 😭he can literally be a 7ft 5in version of him — he's absolutely functional in today's NBA

  8. Yes, as everyone does in the NBA, will he persevere through that to maximize his realized potential I think that’s all about the organization he goes to and their entire ethos because for all of the negatives that may pop up on him, I still gotta say man he hasn’t played with NBA scorers around him to truly evaluate how he stacks up. I see a ton of Jokic in his soft hands and slow but clean footwork that his minimalistic compared to most big guys let alone 7’3/7’4 guys.

  9. Best case scenario is that he develops into brook lopez. People need to remember brook was also a plodding center like edey.

  10. What if he's dominating in the post? Why do all NBA teams have to follow a specific trend?

  11. He gets a ton of free throws in college. They are going to maul him in the nba. Watched the nba recently? The refs have swallowed those whistles

  12. Posting using isn’t bad per se if he can be efficient enough at them to warrant the touches the issue is it’s really hard to do that unless you’re exploiting mismatches etc.

  13. Curious on how people would hire if Edey just said no to the NBA this year. Signs a deal with a European team for a year. European game is perfect for him. His success is the NBA is dependent on a team actually letting him play the way he needs to. If they just put him in the game for 15 minutes and shoots 3 shots a game he will never be successful. So I think Europe could be a solid option.

  14. I could argue that every big man can be a liability defensively if a team goes small but if they do go small I think Eddy is good enough to dominate them on offense

  15. Miami might need that extra Big…..Bam is good but he's too short to go against the Likes of Jokic And Embiid
