so the first game of the 2024 MLB season
is in a few days and we have players
getting hosed in free agency not getting
paid what they’re worth and we also have
guys like Blake Snell Jordan Montgomery
JD Martinez they haven’t signed yet what
is going on by the way speaking of Blake
snell a new Darkhorse team has a merge
and put their name in the mix for Snell
and it’s not anyone you were expecting
Trevor Bower also chimed in on some free
agency talk and also we’re going to talk
about Libby dun’s boyfriend versus Matt
holiday’s son as they kickstarted spring
breakout what did I just say now guys

so before we talk about injury updates
as well as free agency updates I want
you guys to take a look at the clip

the automatic ball strike challenge

the big league sometimes it’s pretty
quick sometimes it’s fairly slow do you

because they’re using it in Spring
breakout and we’ll talk about spring
breakout later in the video but what do

it or no do you want to see Angel
Hernandez throw out Lance Lynn in spring
training Yankees fans can breathe a
little bit earlier today knowing that
GAR Cole does not have a tear in that
UCL now he is going to have to pretty
much go through spring training all over
again he’s going to be missing anywhere
from 10 to 12 weeks so again that is not
surgery and that is great news if you’re
a Yankees fan because everyone was
thinking in the extremes whether or not
he was going to be missing 2024 or
Beyond because if he had Tommy John he’s
probably missing 2025 as well great news
Garett Cole he does not have a tear he
should be ready by at least May another
pitcher that’s going to be missing some
time one of the best pitchers in
baseball if we’re talking about relief
pitchers Devin Williams I guess he had a
flare up on his back when he was playing
catch and after he did a workout and the
report is he has stress fractures
multiple stress fractures in his back
and he’s expected to miss anywhere from
3 to 4 months and that really sucks
apparently he ped through some soreness
in September and it returned in early
spring that really stinks oh great even
more pitcher injuries and these ones are
pretty serious Daniel Espino who a lot
of people consider to be the next Jacob
De Grom he’s now missing 2024 after
missing 2023 with the shoulder injury
he’s having another shoulder injury and
then also staying with the Guardians and
pitcher injuries Trevor Stefan who was
one of the best relief pitchers in 2022
he was decent in 2023 he’s undergoing
Tommy John pitchers are getting picked
off left and right and that’s why the
Astros have now ENT conversations to try
and acquire Blake snow because one of
the guys in their rotation Jose yiti
he’s being evaluated right now for an
elbow injury I don’t know if it’s an
elbow injury that is going to require
surgery right now they’re doing Imaging
so it’s either going to be a GLE
situation where he has to take two or
three months off or it’s going to be
like Trevor Stefan who we just talked
about and he’s going to need full-blown
Tommy John I’m hoping it’s not the case
I’m hoping that he just has to take some
time off get some injections and he’ll
be okay so now we have to ask the
question are kids going to stray away
from pitching kind of like how kids are
straying away from wanting to be a
running back because what does the NFL
do they turn out star running backs
every single year they beat you up they
give you a three or four year contract
worth $20 million and then they thank
you for your services and then you’re
out the door and it almost seems like
that’s what’s happening with pitchers
I’m not saying that MLB is doing
intentionally but with the spin rate
increase the grip changes the fact that
everyone’s trying to throw a sweeper and
a change up that’s also putting extra
tension on the elbow and the forearm
there’s more inflammation in baseball
than I’ve ever seen before there’s so
many injuries our pitchers about to turn
into the running back backs of MLB where
you just turn them out you don’t really
expect them to go 10 to 15 years
consistently you just want a two or
threee prime and then you’re going to
move on and also let me know in the
comments do you think that the Astros
are a suitable place for Blake Snell I
mean again Justin berlander Jose Ary
they’re both dealing with injuries right
now as a depth piece this would be
awesome for the Astros but in terms of
what Blakes sell wants I don’t know if
they’re going to meet him at his price
maybe they’ll compromise because if
Blake Snell does go to Houston he will
be competing for a championship it’s
just is that a priority in Blake Snell’s
life we’re not sure so Domingo Hermon
just signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates
for a $1.5 million deal and Trevor Bower
chimed in just simply tweeting LOL and I
don’t know if you can really compare the
two it is kind of apples to oranges in
terms of what exactly played out but
Trevor’s basically saying how come he
can get a job but I’m still blacklisted
by MLB it seems like there’s collusion
between the owners to not hire me what
do you guys make of the Trevor bow or
saga I’m curious to see what you guys
have to say in the comments down below
but not only did the Pirates pick up
Domingo Hermon as a piece they picked up
Michael a Taylor as well who signed for
$4 million we’ll talk about some other
free agents in a second because Isaiah
Conor FFA who signed in December he’s
making more than some of these guys
combined we know that Michael a Taylor
is fantastic on the bases he is a
generational Defender as well he has a
rocket for an arm he’s going to provide
some pop he had 21 home runs and a 94
Ops plus because he does not take walks
and he strikes out every other at bat
but in terms of value $4 million from
Michael a Taylor and this is the other
guy I was talking about Adam du who had
21 home runs and a 119 Ops plus last
year for the Red Sox just signed for $3
million with the brave so probably he’s
about to donate 1% of that to the Braves
Foundation as well so when you combine
Michael a Taylor’s $4 million and Adin
Duval’s 3 million ik’s $15 million
contract over two years he’s making 7
and a half per he’s making more than
Duval and Taylor combined what is going
on in free agency I mean last year
despite the fact that he only played 92
games Adam Duval had 24 doubles and 21
home runs that’s very impressive so yes
it does blow my mind that ikf is making
more than both Duval and Michael a
Taylor make it make sense also I think
it’s kind of ironic that the GM of the
Braves AA Alex anthropus whatever his
last name is said that he was not going
to platoon Jared Kellick he signs Adam
Duval because Jared Kellick welcomed
Braves fans to his 3 for 34 spring he is
currently hitting 088 I think that’s why
they signed adal because Kel Nick looks
completely lost right now another
example of what is going on with free
agency so JD Davis out of nowhere was
released by the Giants and because he
was released 15 days before opening day
they only had to pay him $1.1 million in
termination pay or something like that
so when you combine the fact that JD
martinz was given $1.1 million in
termination pay by the Giants and the
fact that he just signed for $2.5
million with the A’s JD Davis is only
getting $3.5 million I say only that’s a
lot to people like you and me but for a
guy like JD Davis that’s not a lot JD
Davis had 18 home runs and a 103 Ops
plus last year for the Giants and if we
take a look at what he’s done in Spring
it’s spring take with the grain of salt
even though I just used that against
Jared Kellick in Spring JD Davis was
hitting 400 with two home runs and six
RBI and 15 at bats I know it’s 15 at
bats it’s nothing it’s fugazi doesn’t
exist it’s spring training but still JD
Davis is a more than serviceable
baseball player the fact that he’s
getting $4 million less than Isaiah
coner FFA what is going on with free
agency I’m just really confused with
this year’s off season but let’s move on
to a few more fun things we have Wyatt
Langford of the Rangers if you guys have
not picked this guy up in fantasy please
make sure you do that ASAP because he’s
already up to five home runs 14 RBI and
a handful of bats in spring training
this guy has been raking before we talk
about Paul SK a flamethrower I want to
talk about another flamethrower Tigers
Prospect Jackson joob one of my favorite
names in baseball this dude is chucking
101 102 103 with ease he’s only had one
inning so far in Spring but he struck
out two he’s got a devastating slider we
talked about Libby Dunn’s boyfriend in
the intro as well as Matt holiday son so
we have Paul skes facing off against
Jackson holiday and paulski won this
matchup so he struck out two in one
inning by the way this spring breakout
is pretty cool but it’s kind of hard to
follow does anyone else agree another
young pitcher that showed off his stuff
in spring breakout Cardinals Prospect
Tink hence that is a real name he went
two innings only allowed one base hit
struck out three hitters he’s got a nice
Sinker he’s got some good off speed
pitches I mean every single strikeout
that he had in that game was on a
different pitch and then also Thomas
White of the Marlins he struck out three
as well there are so many stud pitchers
coming up and again we have to just pray
that their arms stay intact because
these kids they’re pitching earlier and
earlier in club baseball travel baseball
maybe that’s why we’re seeing so many
injuries that their arm suffers so much
wear and tear since they’re what 10 11
years old like travel ball is starting
way earlier than when I played well
