Chairman Ridley gives the State of Augusta National in his annual Chairman’s Press Conference.

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

Get them 🐅 🐯 Tiger. Unleash the beast. Everyone enjoy this beautiful experience ❤️
Why wasn't Dean Burmeister and Louis Oosthuizen not invited after they both won back to back tournaments which gives reason to believe the world's best players are not playing in the 2024 MASTERS…😢😢😢😢
Think the rollback is not looking at everything. If so, would long drive and big hitters already be dominating?
What a tough act to follow this gentleman is going to be. Of all the topics/questions the most fascinating imo (as a girl dad) is hearing Chairman Ridley answer “yes” to the possibility of a pro woman’s event someday.
The women have 3 solid majors in the opens and the pga, but they are clearly lacking something; and we all know what it is.
I have to say the course played amazing in November imo and looked amazing with fall colors. The women’s game would not cause the same scoring issues as the elite men playing that time of year. If they are, just move them back, as I tried to joke with Mr Ridley one time about the anwa.
As for the member play, it’s worth noting what Mr Clifford Roberts said many times, which Mr Ridley addressed, which is that the clubs mission is to serve the game.
It’s safe to say a women’s masters, along with an ANMA, and perhaps a DCP for special Olympics athletes (with a strong military presence) would serve the game and the club more than another week of member play.
I do not believe for a second the mystique of Augusta National or The Masters brand would be sacrificed in any way. It would likely only increase it. All that would happen is more joy for countless golfers; both competitors and fans.
And I would argue more joy for the members as well to see more hard working young people earn their way to compete at this magical place.
On the north shore we have our own special arena people never thought the women would ever compete at: pipeline; in part because surf locals are like the members of a wave. And Just like Augusta, the wave is a winter club of sorts, so time is limited. But the women are competing at Pipe now; and whilst it’s not the pipe masters brand; the ladies competing at Pipeline is helping grow the sport and inspiring the next generation.
Ever is a long time indeed. I’m glad Chairman Ridley is all about never saying never. This is why the club and the golf world is very lucky to have this man in this chair.
No Tour's OOM is connected to the rest of the world. The OOM is based on the members of that specific Tour. If LIV Golf has members that are winning multiple DPWT events, the Australian Open, and reigning Major Champions…the top 10 in the LIV OOM should have automatic invites into all majors. Fred Ridley and other corrupt golf establishment chairs are clearly colluding against the LIV Tour.
This is one the the things I look forward to most about masters week! Chairman Ridley is a fantastic voice for the club and it’s amazing to hear about all Augusta National is doing for the game. Thank you Chairman Ridley!
How come there are no women playing this week…. I’m outraged.
Nice job Fred. 😎
Freddie, Freddie, Freddie!
Mr Ridley, it has been an honour to hear your thoughts this afternoon. Truly, Richard
This guy won a U.S. Amateur.
The reality is that The Masters has significantly the WEAKEST field of all the Major Championships! Added to that, it’s the smallest field of the majors, and in no way can claim to have the very best golfers in the world.
Last year, SIX ageing Masters Champions and THREE modern era Masters Champions had a HIGHLY EMBARRASSING, combined score of 82 OVER PAR after only TWO ROUNDS!
This clearly indicates that The Masters is well below the field strength of the US Open, Open Championship and US PGA Championship. In fact it doesn’t even compare to The Players Championship, the so called Fifth Major!
“We believe the OWGR it is a legitimate determiner of who the best players in the game are”…
I would really like to see Augusta National have a women's Masters Tournament. That would really be a big get for viewership.
Make the Australian Open the fifth major.
Bob Harig Mr. LIV.
What's with the woke girls amateur 🤦😂
Silly question about Nelly Korda. The problem is not with anyone else but the lack of women fans, they are simply not as interested in golf as men are and there's nothing wrong with that. It's like a beauty pageant complaining that not enough men watch, but if men aren't interested then who cares? The problem is not with Augusta, or broadcasting, it's simply the lack of women fans, and that's perfectly okay for different sexes to have different interests. Some of these media people are lazy and need to stop trying to invent a story because they're upset about the reality that men and women have different interests.
Womens golf… To me is some of the best golf going… The TV coverage leaves little to be desired, unless you have cable or pay to stream.
GO TIGER WOODS!!!
World golf rankings legitimate? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The arrogance to think one course should be consideration when talking about a rollback for everyone
Really classy of them to give a round of applause to the retiring course manager, well done!
The longest video covering the Masters is this where they kiss each others ar$e!
