  1. Johan Santana pitching a GEM against the Rangers = 8 innings, no runs, 2 hits allowed, 17 strikeouts.

BTW, both Rangers hits today were by Sammy Sosa

Johan had a chance to tie the record of 20 strikeouts in a 9 inning game, BUT Johan had thrown 116 pitches after 8 innings, which is surprising since he had no walks and only two hits allowed. And also it was a 1-0 game, and you have a great closer in Joe Nathan ready.

And the last thing you want is for Johan to stumble in the 9th inning and leave with a sour note.

Joe Nathan struck out two Rangers in the 9th inning, so the Rangers struck out a total of 19 times today in 9 innings.

  2. Yankees beat the Tigers, to take 3-of-4

Tigers are playing horrendous lately, as they are now 10-21 in their last 31 games.

That Yankees bullpen is looking lethal lately with Joba and Edward Ramirez added in

And Edward Ramirez has a very nice changeup

  3. Horrible loss for the Brewers, despite hitting four home runs against the Reds and having a 5 runs lead.

Nothing is going right for the Brewers since early July, especially when Capuano starts a game

  4. John Smoltz pitching a gem with 12 strikekouts to beat the redhot DBACKS.

Texeira hitting two home runs today; he has been REDHOT since joining the Braves.

  5. Nice win by my Mets in DC, to three-game-sweep the Nats.

Sadly, when my Mets face the Nats 6 more games this 2007 season, all in the final two weeks of the season, Nats will give nightmares to my Mets.

  6. Rough loss for Cleveland in extra innings today in Tampa.

Cleveland take the lead in the top of the 10th, only for Tampa to then tie it in the bottom of the 10th, and then for Tampa to win it in the 12th. OUCH

8:23 Great play by BJ Upton

  7. Nice win for the Dodgers against the Rockies, after Todd Helton almost won it with the late clutch home run.

Finally something went right for the Dodgers, since nothing seemed to be going right for them since the All Star Break.

Kaz Matsui sure had to run alot on that inning

  8. Johan Santana with arguably his last great start before leaving Minnesota. An absolute gem at the Metrodome on this Sunday.
