When you’re considering what irons to use it’s important to think about the “miss” you get with different types of irons. A bladed iron and a hollow body iron will both perform fantastic when hit out of the middle but they will have very different “misses.”

  1. One major thing to consider when deciding between the two is your fairways in Regulation percentage. If you are always in the fairway, then the forgiving club is your best friend.

But… if you frequently miss fairways you are going to be saved a lot by having the workable club (in/under/around trouble.

  2. I'm playing off a 4.5 handicap right now and I recently (October 2023) bought the Takomo 101T irons and they have completely changed my iron game!
The only negative thing I can say right now is that sometimes I catch one really hot and it flies like 10 yards further than my average carry.

  3. Me looking at the MBs: "My mind is telling me nooo…. But my bodyy …my body is tellin me yeeaaaahh" 🎶

  4. Enjoyed the video, good job on the comparisons! Could you perform the same test (using the 7 irons), but to a 185yd par 3, closest to the pin? Then you'd be taking into consideration your right to left shot shape (starting it right, then letting if fall left, etc). Then maybe do another comparison, but force yourself to play a left to right shot into the green. Thanks for the videos!
