We are here for the 50th anniversary of the Pittsburgh wrestling classic my name is Tim Rice along with Mason Lyndon MTH we’ve been here all afternoon watching some great wrestling but we’re here for our feature matchup tonight Team USA taking on team Pennsyvania and we’re getting things rolling right away here
At 114 lbs representing Team USA Abram Klein from Granite Hills High School he comes in with a record of 121 and 12 Team USA will be wearing the red singlet all night long Aiden Smith in the blue representing team Pennsylvania Notre Dame Green Pond high school he is from Allentown
Pennsylvania 152 and 18 on his career he is a two-time Pennsylvania state champion two future Big 10 guys here with uh Klein going to Maryland while Smith who’s in on the single leg he’s headed to Ruckers looking to go backside we got whizzard here for Klein looking
To circle out yeah Smith on that head inside single close K trying to get himself to the Edge closed Wier whizard for Klein as you mentioned trying to find that out of bounds and looks like he’s going to do so so out of bounds no score
Here to start things off but some good action here at 114 pounds I actually ate dinner at the banquet last night with Aiden Smith and his family and we talked about this match I asked if these guys had ever hit they hit back in believe
The 2022 super 32 round to 32 around to 16 it was Smith winning 5 to one they both know this one’s going to be a lot different they’ve gotten a lot better since then both these guys very similar Styles quick very explosive good with their elbow controls as you see Smith
Goes for his elbow control duck there no score 45 seconds to go in the first period kicking off our main event of the night here at the 50th Anniversary Pittsburgh wrestling classic I mentioned Smith’s acol two time state champion 152 wins Klein 121 and 12 on his career he is from Cali
California Jula Vista California as I mentioned wrestles for Granite Hills High School we go out of bounds with 23 to go still no score here it’s a mench both these guys headed to big 10 schools we could see be seeing this one for years to
Come and this is the first of 12 matches tonight looking re attacking Smith trying to run Corner Klein able to square up see some of that quickness out of both guys Smith doing a nice job of jumping out of the way as I mentioned we have 12 matches tonight we’re starting
Off here at 114 pounds just not wrestling the 107b weight class A 108 now this year change the weight classes every other year it seems like here in the state of Pennsylvania 107 we end up with z z at the end of the first period we’ll head to the second with the coin
Flip Klein’s choice he’s going to go down to start the second period Smith really good on top not the biggest Turner but he puts in a lot of work with hook and Ankle head lever big shops can get to crossr so we’ll see how committed
He is to this ride to start the second so mention Klein isn’t a state champion but as a reminder most of you in the world of wrestling know California is a single class state so everybody’s in that same weight class which obviously makes it a little bit more difficult to
Become that state champion and it’s also the biggest state in the country so Smith trying to get to work on top doing a good job controlling that cross wrist currently yep he’s got the cross now Klein able to seal off on the right side Smith now as
I said he’s really good with his ankle hook will go head lever here and break him down flat he really impressed me at the state tournament he was just able to beat down guys in this position wear them out in the bottom position with just this exact
Hold he’s able to break down Klein flat that’s huge to start out this second period Jen Smith wrestles for one of the powers in the state of Pennsylvania Notre Dame green pond private school in the Lehigh Valley area so they’re pulling from a lot of different school districts in that area
Really strong wrestling area they’ve been doing some damage in the dou a division in the state of Pennsylvania again Pennsylvania double A and AAA two divisions Aiden Smith wrestling against the small School Division in double A doua is better I said it I was going to say the small schools this year talk
About a school like Faith Christian Court talking about some national powers that are on thata seen in the state of Pennsylvania actually very similar to bethem Catholic a few years ago they decided to make the jump up to triaa though so we’ll see if some decisions
Are made as some of these doua powers in the state of Pennsylvania but Aiden Smith z0 on in the top position 44 seconds left in the second period he’s working really hard in this top position you can tell he’s committed his ride gry here by Klein Smith able to fall has the
Ankle hooked Klein with looking to go switch with good Follow by Smith now back to this ankle trap Klein had that hand on the inside of the thigh it looked like he might be able to make something from that but Smith regains control figure four on the ankle just
Staying down on that ankle he’s got to work up here though able to now slides a leg in wow that was kind of nice transition there leg just kind of flew in for him and actually this is the kind of riding that a lot of the rule changes
That they’re trying to implement in the college to try to get rid of this kind of riding where he’s rid far ankle pinching on that near leg um trying to avoid those positions from top but Smith is doing enough right now I’m not insinuating that he should be called for
Stalling here but um they’re trying to get rid of that ankle trap cuz you know you saw it a lot last year at the college level and this year it’s cleaned up a little bit more but it’s not fun to watch guys just double knee pinch on an
Ankle and ride out period so Smith gets it done though as I mentioned not fun to watch but he gets it done so he has that z z going into the third and he’ll choose bottom I had a good time that period I did not all right Smith looking to put the
First points up here after a big ride out there Smith number two in the country at 114 PBS while Smith or Klein number 20 K going half off the whistle now get Smith broken flat I thought actually Klein went a little bit before the whistle but didn’t get called for the caution able
To secure that tight waist down there a little bit deeper I thought maybe my head glitched and I was the only one thinking that Smith up to his feet fighting hands now dropping down his Klein this is a position where he could probably just try to hold on here the
Best he can but Smith’s able to break the lock No Escape awarded yet and there’s the one Smith takes the one to zero lead now tries to jump over he’s going backside almost rushed at again where Klein was able to get that arm up
Yeah I was going to say you got to be careful jumping there get that leg caught and guys can pull you under again just back to youth wrestling Basics there got to clear the legs before you can spin around behind unable to jump around behind so one Z 113 to go lots of
Action but not a lot of scoring here at 114 PBS in our opening bout what will be hopefully a great duel meet between Team USA and Team Pennsylvania if it’s like anything like our last duel was with team whippo and team jersey it’s going to be freaking
Sweet man yeah WP a coming coming away with a victory over Team New Jersey in our undercard one of our undercards we also had our first women’s dual meet match where team Ohio took out team Pennsylvania it was like 3916 sounds about seems like a lifetime
Ago but it was only just a few short hours yep Aiden Smith here with the short hooks near the out of bounds and we get a restart with 43 seconds so hopefully we’re getting ready for a big sprint to the Finish see who can put their team on the board first Smith’s
Getting a little bit slower back to Center each time I’ve noticed I’m wondering if he’s starting to feel a little bit after putting in all that effort in the second period ride see if Klein’s able to take advantage here as he’s starting to get Smith to bite on these
Fakes no stall warnings on Smith to this point now Klein coming now re attack by Smith still rolling here as Klein no taked down and there it is yeah nice Patience by the official they’re waiting for the situation to kind of settle itself and Smith able to pick up the Tak
Down and probably puts the nail in the coffin here for the 114 lb bout as he tries to put PA up three- Z to start he’s got 10 seconds to ride it out must have been that fish at the banquet last night Klein’s going to get the late
Escape but it’s not going to be enough Aiden Smith puts team Pennsylvania on the board 3 to zero wins the 114 lb bout 3 to1 the Final and he’s headed off to Ruckers after this right after this potentially it’s not too far from Notre Dame Green Pond like an hour away I think
Getting shot of the Notre Dame Green Pond coaches as I said they built themselves quite a successful program there aen Smith picking up that win 121 pounds for Team USA baric Jordan from Noble Oklahoma 164 and4 in his career he’s a three-time Oklahoma state champion Lou Gil from
Reynolds 143 and 17 he is a one-time state champion but familiar to the championship finals this where Lou Gill is really good passing legs but putting the knee in a bad spot referee’s got to be on top of that and he was in Lou Gill able to get potentially dangerous call gets himself
Out of that position we’re scoreless so Lou Gil made a school change went from Hickory his freshman in sophomore year made the switch to Reynolds had to sit out a season ago wasn’t allowed to wrestle in the postseason came back this year put in a strong showing
Heading to the wolf pack next year for NC State shot another shot here by Jordan Gil getting where he’s good trying to lock in the crotch now Jordan trying to hook feet he’s got the bottom one hooked see if Gil tries to roll here but Jordan trying to post that top
Knee off as soon as he’s popping his head he’s in good position here it’s just a matter of a time now unless Gil’s just trying able to pull something magic out of his hat I think a good job by the official holding here I agree he’s got to come over a little bit
More he’s got to get him to that hip or else get that inside arm through and there it is so good Patience by the official good Patience by the wrestler Jordan and being able to stay there and get that takedown so baric Jordan it’s mentioned three time state champion Big
Time recruit for the Sooners heading to Oklahoma next year yeah it’s a big one this kid’s good these two wrestled in uh dece about a year and a half ago at Iron Man in 2022 in the quarterfinals it was a 5 to zero win for baric Jordan I asked
These two at the press conference if they thought that they learned anything from that match and they said no not really I’m just going to go out and wrestle so I didn’t for that no no I’m just going to go to wrestle I was like all right cool that’s what I figured but
Now I know you are just mentioning that college commit for Jordan that’s huge for the Sooners they often times don’t win those instate recruiting battles against Oklahoma State he flipped and to be able to pick up that recruit and even more of an inyour face with the flips that’s big time by
Oklahoma trying to bring that program back to National prominy oh watch for locked hands here that’s locked hands yep that’s lock no he’s only around one he’s not around both arm okay I got you I can’t see that angle you’re right Y no you got me excited too yeah I I was like
What are we looking at time here those are those weird non-traditional locked hands positions where if he was over top of both arms that was absolutely a locked hand position I just couldn’t see the far angle but I could have just looked at the monitor three feet from my
Face details yeah again overrated def big ride out there for Jordan Gil was close to getting the Escape could have been huge cuz Jordan’s really tough in the top position it’s Jordan SCH to start the second he’s going to go down great venue here at Peters Township
High School made this switch a couple years ago from Fitzgerald fi Fieldhouse at the University of Pittsburgh made the switch here to Peters Township and they have been a great host for this event great atmosphere here really cool gym as Jordan trying to work for the reversal
And goes ahead and gets it so Jordan on the reversal but just a cool environment here at Peter Township they do a nice job hosting beautiful new high school build a couple years ago just a nice environment for wrestling and they’ve put on some shows here Chris Bono was
Inducted into the Pittsburgh wrestling classic Hall of Fame Ron Frank gave him that award before we got started but just so much history here 50 years of just some incredible wrestling here at the Pittsburgh wrestling classic Jordan as I mentioned very tough in the top position you see him going to
Work now Gil able to get up to his feet I don’t think Jordan’s going to give this up easy though well as I say that he cuts him away so all right I’m going that’s going to stop makes it four to one with the Escape for Gil Jordan taking him to the
Edge and they go out of bounds Gil where he’s really good he’s got a really good Slide by we’ll see if Jordan gives him the right pressure and reaches in that tie to get there another shot by Jordan though yeah nice attack by Jordan Gil’s good on defense but you
Don’t want to be wrestling defense though whole entire match as it’s been Jordan on the offense gets the Tak down that one a little bit early I think yeah ref got a little impatient he’s tired of watching that position again so gave it two points four time six to one for
Jordan Jordan’s doing a really nice job of protecting his ankles in that position he’s kind of shooting and scooting his feet out so Gil can’t reach him to try to pass a leg mentioned lots of division one college coaches try to make their inroads into the state of Pennsylvania
NC state has definitely done an excellent job of that Jackson Arrington the most recent one comes to mind just watched him at the National Tournament but NC State do a nice job of recruiting highle Brothers state of Pennsylvania there’s another Escape for Gil short time in the second that’s
Big going to make it six to2 I believe it is Gil’s choice to start the third as well assume he’ll go back down cuz why not Gil is going to go down we’ll see if Jordan looks to ride nope he’s just going to cut him mentioned 50 years of the Pittsburgh
Wrestling classic so many people it’s put so much work into this event it’s not just a one match first of all there’s three dual meets that need to go into this and all the coordination the flights the hotels all this work that gets done behind the scenes they put on
An awesome banquet for these wrestlers they treat them right Cliff Keane does a great job with the warm-ups giving them all this cool gear they really treat these guys right press conference today dinner afterwards tonight so just a nice event all around and the money
Goes to a great cause going going to the Boys and Girls Club it’s Lou Gil trying to get something going here as he’s Trails six to three third period there we go Jordan staying on his offense he’s not scared to get under Gil and you see he’s bringing a physical
Hand fight now taking Gil towards the edge you see Gil kind of leaning that right hand trying to go over caller so he can try to get that slide by Jordan’s just hand fighting yeah Jordan with the three-point lead not backing off just really winning that hand fight putting the pressure to the
Edge L gills just having a hard time with that physicality right now that baric Jordan is giving him yeah evading and dropping to a knee is not the best way to score here but we got a minute to go so anything can happen here Gils just
Got to find a way to get to one at least weird little foot fake there by Jordan do you see that and a faint out oh was a physical shot back to the same position again for Jordan he’s going to pop his head got both legs controlled but Gil still
Fighting it’s just a matter of time here once Jordan gets to the college level you can really utilize that neutral danger zone position to help you finish your taked down yeah you get guys there just keep them in neutral danger guys are going to bail going to be giving up
Takedown in near Four yeah and I think when that rule first came out a couple years ago everybody was thinking oh we’re GNA get crazy takedowns but really what you just said is typically what happens once they hear that neutral danger zone they know they’re in trouble
And they’ll bail out so I don’t know I feel like you rarely see actual neut danger zone takedowns although I think there was one this year in the National tourn I can’t remember it was a funky one I mean it was the right call it was just a weird position but I definitely
Will probably remember if I think about it for the next I don’t think it really hurt us too bad it’s really helped the scrambling I think at the college level but absolutely has it’s just kind of raised the level scrambling for sure but yeah baric Jordan your winner from
Oklahoma gets Team USA on the board and that’ll tie things up three to three so baric Jordan gets the job done before he heads off to Oklahoma gives a couple boughs and he’s out of here Jordan in control start to finish this was his reversal in the second period
Yeah and that’s a position that Lou Gil is usually very comfortable in the top position but you see he hung onto that foot got his hips to the outside elevated the foot we saw that a little bit in the undercard we were talking about but Jordan just did a better job
Of hanging onto the foot and able to get the reversal we’ll move on to 127 pounds for USA we have JJ mccomus from Stillwater Oklahoma he is 136 and 22 he’s a two-time Oklahoma state champion as he’s trying to go around behind you’re looking at Chris Vargo from bentworth 133 and
12 Chris Vargo had a huge win in a regional qualifier tournament kind of put his name on the national scene yeah that was back at the uh what was it North or southwest region tournament I do believe maybe Southwest I think it was southwest region tournament where he took out Jax forest
In the regional final then they hit the next week in the state finals everybody was looking forward to and Jax just went out and put on a show and was able to pick up the tech fall against Vargo but Vargo really high Pace really physical hand fight likes to get in there and
Bang versus mccomus very slick can score in a lot of different ways and he definitely has a size Advantage here just looking at the two so we mentioned Oklahoma state has been winning those instate recruiting battles in the state of Oklahoma recently and there’s another example JJ McComas from Stillwater
Oklahoma decided to go to Oklahoma State Oklahoma State bringing some big time guys from the the portal also I saw this week yeah Dean hamdy heading out of Wisconsin to Oklahoma State it’s a big get for them especially with Isaac Alle Nick leaving this
Year I uh I talked to both these guys in the press conference earlier about their college recruiting process and mcom said he knew he was go he always knew he was going to Oklahoma State he lives in Still Water says he doesn’t want to be away from his mom which who can’t
Understand that while Vargo he’s going to Edinburgh and I asked him and his buddy Gavin Suka about that their commitment bro and he said good wrestling and good fishing as I say that good reack here by Vargo made the joke earlier that’s the that’s the big time pull for some of
These Pennsylvania schools is the fishing we got we got good wrestling and good fishing that’s right Vargo hanging on to the legs got to try to build up Mom’s getting in a better position here to try to break that lock we got 10 seconds in the period we might run out
Of time Vargo just got to just has to stay tough and he does it so we’ll end the first first period scoreless good action here in the third batt of the evening again I’m Tim Rice along with Mason Lynden Muth we’re here at Peter Township for another great
Event our main card Team USA team Pennsylvania team Pennsylvania trying to get the job done yeah double up on the night after taking out jersey the whip heel taking out jersey last round could be big be the first time in a few years Pennsylvania’s won this duel uh mcom up
To his feet right away Vargo looks like he’s going to cut him I forgot to mention this last night at the banquet Vargo won the whii wrestler of the Year award very big deal pretty cool thing yeah the the whip we mentioned there in the undercard and there’s a nice shot by
Momus trying to build up out the back door controlling ankles as Vargo see if he just tries to pinch here makom got it as we talked about earlier he’s just got to keep advance in this position and now he’s starting to get weight on those heels getting in better
Position Vargo trying to pass he’s able to pass still not in the best position now we got to be careful of hips here hips and knees here Vargo got to be careful with his shoulders still trying to pass watch knees here trying to referee from the table
Here stop that stop stop it please so we get a potentially dangerous call with 110 to go as I mentioned the whip heel very strong area of the state of Pennsylvania the southwest region of the state that Southwestern area of the state took on New Jersey and was Victorious came
Down to the heavyweight bout yeah I believe had what 2719 and with Brandon Morgan hitting a little Frogger to get the tech fall to clinch the duel yeah if you haven’t seen that I’m sure that’ll be up on the Social Media stuff or on the main page but Brennan Morgan from Central Valley
State champ kind of put an exclamation point on the Wind when he did the Frogger hop it wasn’t even a flying squirrel it was literally like a Frog Hop like he turned around and jumped over him backward it it was pretty sweet way to cap things off so got to win in
Style sometimes Tim again we have 12 bouts we are in our third pay slowing a little bit now coming down towards the end of the second period and you mentioned Vargo typically likes to go on that high pace so you got to think this maybe is a
Little bit of an advantage for mccomus although absolutely sure he’s got a decent gas tank himself yeah this kid can wrestle momus believe a four time maybe three or four time Oklahoma state champ two time two time he uh but Fargo runner up super 32 runner up third at Iron Man
This kid’s rested on the biggest stages it’s a long he actually has a longstanding rivalry with Jack Forest himself Vargo choice to start the third he’s going to go down we’ll see what momas has for him on top momas is good with a leg ride we’ll see if he goes to
It Vargo getting up to quadpod I guess tripod I guess I should say right now interesting what’s momas is doing with his hands here it kind of looks like it was close to lock hands yeah it was super close he’s grabbing vargo’s wrist though yeah it was weird he was like
Grabbing it with like part of his hand the other part of it see was like touching his wrist we get a restart of 144 see what Vargo H he hops over pinches elbow working for a reverse so moma’s able to pinch you can see him trying to throw that left leg in yeah
Momas does a really nice job of keeping that claw tight able to just stay stuck to his back and Vargo having a hard time getting out from underneath komas has those long arms man he goes back to it again now trying to get under that leg
He’s in a lot better position now yeah now he’s got something we’ll see if he can duck that uh but momus with a far ankle going to make it tough he’s got to try to get that toe back get weight on that foot AA showing his flexibility they’re going to oh yeah
They might want to stop this stop please stop this what are we doing why are we still wrestling and Vargo showing his flexibility as well as they are contorted gives a little kick of the knee shakes it off I think that uh coach what is a hill at Edinburgh and Coach
Smith at Oklahoma State probably were screaming at their screens trying to get them to stop that position please don’t do this you can’t get keep getting away with this just under 50 seconds to go pretty simple ride going on right now by momus but Vargo hasn’t been able to figure it
Out Vargo up to his seat once again fighting hands mom’s going to have to return him here and vargo’s able to get his Escape that’s huge ties it a one with 30 seconds to go in the third these guys give a little head nod to each
Other and walk back to Center they want to settle this on their feet whether it’s now or in sudden victory momas drops to double knees maybe maybe we’re just content for overtime going to say sudden Victory looks like the pathway they’re both choosing yeah I think they’re they’re maybe resigned to
Sudden victory at this point one of those mutual agreements all right neither of us are going to do anything the last 30 seconds that one a little bit more blatant than some I’ve seen so no stall calls on either wrestler no caution so s the penalty charts are clear and
We’ll get ready here for the overtime period one minute on the clock any score wins here mentioned momus he’s got speed I I wouldn’t be surprised he fires off something quick like a re attack was Vargo he’s got to try to keep him square if this thing settled on the mat
I don’t really know he’d give advantage to I guess I’d give a slight advantage to Momom he made things a little bit more hard on Vargo but yeah and if he really had to commit to he doesn’t have a uh stall call yet tied up in his finger tie Vargo
Looks to go low ankle there’s down block now kind of stabbing at the leg was momus Wargo kind of grabbing the chin right now with his throat block might be might be reserved to tie Breakers at this point neither guy looking like they’re willing to pull the trigger
So in this bout we are going to wrestle the traditional High School overtime rules earlier we wrestled abbreviated just a 30 second ride out but we will go to full so we’re going to go 232 tie Breakers tie Breakers each guy will have a choice and then we’ll do an
Ultimate ride out if needed so we’re going to flip the disc vargo’s got choice he’s going to go underneath it looks like big point of emphasis here too if it goes to Ultimate tiebreaker Moma scored first so he would get choice so if you’re Vargo you got to try to win this right
Now no stall calls on momas he put on a really tough ride as he drops far ankle now droing to a double Vargo getting in Jesus shape can’t lock his hands here good call on that one Mason as can’t lock those hands and I think he
Realized that right as he was about Tock that was really really smart my M I was just going to say that is very high level wrestling most high school guys aren’t going to realize that position and they’re going to lock their hands and find themselves giving up a point so
A stalemate was called I thought it could be called a little bit sooner but stalemate is called Vargo goes back underneath you hear the Pennsylvania boo Birds coming both guys in the middle of the mat smiling we got wasn’t it 12 seconds when they stopped it I’m not
Even sure what the boo is for like I don’t know what the call they wanted there so wrestling rules are different in college and high school oh Fargo almost kicks away makom able to hang on there’s a second Soul call state that was yep you’re right first
One was a stalemate you’re right but just it’s it’s just crazy watching and this is where the rules in high school and college are so different that we’re watching a different thing happen completely different sport because we’ be starting a five count right well in
College too I just mean you can also win by riding time Advantage even if it’s like a half a second so your strategy is completely different here and that’s why you see a difference and you see some coaches messed it up actually at the National Tournament this year when they
Should have chosen neutral or things like that because a lot to keep track of you win by ride time it’s very different in high school so go in a decent shape right now it’s looking for nearfall it’s going to look to slide this leg and getting a little bit High yeah and we’re
Going to wrestle the Whole 30 seconds so if he gets away we’re still going to wrestle 15 seconds does have a stall call takes the shot Vargo coming working at a short offense and the crowd’s calling for Star Bargo looks to jump over so much jumping
It looks like he might have caught a knee to the Head too which is exactly why it’s technically illegal in high school to jump but I hate to be the Debbie Downer Vargo clearly up upset but heck of a match by both guys momus giving a shush to the
Crowd good match exciting overtime bout and great job by both wrestlers but it’s JJ McComas from Stillwater Oklahoma picking up the w win and they’ll put USA out in front six to3 as we get ready for our 133b matchup that would have been a big one for PA to pick up right there
Would have been a huge upset with mcom number four in the country Vargo not ranked but doesn’t really tell the whole story how good that kid is just hasn’t gotten a lot of the opportunities to wrestle high level guys and you saw mccomus just hanging onto that ankle Force the
Stalemate was underneath and able to create that scramble grab the head of Vargo and put him in a bad shape so we’ll move on to 133 PBS Team USA Adrien meesza from Valiant College Prep Arizona he is 109 and 19 in his career and he has taking on Mason Gibson you’ve been
Hearing about this kid since he was in eth grade he’s finally a senior Mason Gibson from Bishop mccort 72-10 in his career this was one of the ones in this duel I was looking forward to most both these guys are wild they do some crazy stuff they’ll I don’t know they can
Score from just about anywhere if they pull the trigger they also have a tendency to to slow down slowing things down a little bit absolutely so it could go one way or the other yeah Mason as I mentioned he’s been big time matches for the last five six years of his life came
On the scene I think probably correct me if I’m wrong but eighth grade was really the big big time when he won that super 32 title grader yeah yeah well Mesa he’s number seven in the country Gibson currently number 20 but MAA Fargo Champion really really good guy another
Guy out of valiant prep he has a teammate coming up next Kyler Lin yeah back-to-back wrestlers from Valiant College Prep out in Arizona oh underhook jack up there for Gibson not able to get to the leg oh looking for the reack was Gibson these are another two guys have a lot of
Speed like we saw on that 114 PB bout you guys heading into some excellent programs next year Iowa State there were a trophy team this year right third or fourth oops sorry Iowa State sorry to rub that in no no trophy unfortunately I’m laughing now even sounds like I
Meant I seriously that genuinely sound no Cyclone I know it did apologies to Cyclone Nation uh Maya fourth uh not fourth rubbing in more I head to Iowa State next year Mason Gibson he to Penn State I know where they finished well well out in front this year so Mason
Gibson headed to Penn State joining his brother Nick out there Nick a transfer from Cornell last season when Mason was originally committed to Cornell flipped his uh flipped his commitment over to Penn State once Nick left I asked him what went into that decision he said I
Didn’t even go visit Nick just asked me if I wanted to go and I said yeah sure so it was that easy it’s like family means everything to me so that’s what’s important it’s like going on a sheets run you want to go yeah yeah why not got
To get the sheets we’re in Western PA right now want to go to the best college sports dnasty of all time sure Gibson goes down to start the second Gibson at times he has a little bit deficiency on bottom but I don’t see him having problems here against Mesa
He’s up to his feet Mesa going to have to return here gry by Gibson he’s going to get his Escape yeah good action by Gibson just keeps moving gets the Escape nice job by Mason Gibson gets on the point on the board first here at 133 pounds problem with Gibson has never
Been the talent the kid has so much talent and just natural ability It’s just sometimes he has a little bit of brain farts in matches sometimes over wrestles positions just gives up unnecessary points and it gets him in trouble yeah just really trying to stay focused for that whole six minutes of
Time absolutely like this this guy’s limit for this kid if he can put it together under hook here for Gibson looking to bring it up now goes underhook on the other side kind of stab at legs on both sides yeah Gibson doing a nice job though he’s controlling the ties jacking things up
He’s been really moving Mesa so far under a minute to go here another big snap from Gibson kind of snapped himself under but able to get out haven’t really seen much of a committed attack from MAA at this point and it’s mostly because Gibson’s kind of been all
Over him and these ties back to this underhook yeah Gibson’s got the underhook but he doesn’t have the head position so hard to get your offense going now he says all right I’ll take two underhooks all right who needs head position I’ll just take both his arms
Now it doesn’t matter what side your head’s on nice re attack here by Gibson head outside yeah he went Lefty High SE off that underhook CV can finish he’s got 20 seconds to do it Maz is in good position here sitting Corner locked in the crotch Gibson trying to switch
Sides yeah Maz is still all right here Gibson’s actually kind of getting in worse position now trying to bring out the back door just 6 seconds to go and that was trying to wrestle through it Mesa continuing to pass not going to be able to finish good
Action there yeah good job by Gibson to adjust you see how he started his shoulder started to slip he decided to go Iranian out the back door there and Elevate and just take feet off the mat see what happens yeah good job wrestling through that position and I mean it
Could have turned out bad for Gibson but realized it and kept wrestling so one Z is the lead for Gibson into the third period he’s going to get set on top see if Gibbs he’s never really much committed to a ride pretty indifferent and why start now and and M gets the
Escape in about half a second re attack here Gibson thought he was going to get that go behind but M it able to stay Square man these kids are fast oh that was a little Le little duck of the tie there back to this underhook for Gibson
As you mentioned not with head position though so not going to be able now he’s he’s he mustar us he really doesn’t like us talking crap on his under hooks says I will take both I will take any arm I want Mesa hasn’t really been able to get
Any offense going for himself I really could see a MAA stall call coming is now he’s moving forward so maybe not he’s been engaged in the action it’s just Gibson’s been all over him now backside trying to kick away as M now kicking over wow great defense there yeah Gibson
Able to use the underhooks on both sides of the body see if he can convert it to points may it locked in the crotch once again now Gibson in decent position but it’s MAA in on the leg watch the knees yes I think that’s the call to make
There I think that was I I sometimes these kids man I just like I don’t get why you would do that to yourself like I’d rather give up a takedown than blow my knee out I’m sorry that maybe that’s just me did teenagers don’t always make the most logical choices really as a
Father of one I’ll just share that with you so well I guess that’s a good note for the future potentially just 34 seconds to go we could be looking at another sudden Victory here it’s neither guy given an inch in this match so we may be headed for another
Overtime period you know how it works now though got one minute and then 2 30 seconds and a 30 second overtime ride out first points were scored by Gibson so he would get the choice if we get that far trying to jump over and you said that goofy stuff and that’s a good
Example it’s a t oh he the down with 5 Seconds on the clock Dion wow that was sweet man I’m going to need to see that replay so he tried to jump didn’t work goes back for the more conventional duck under the more conventional I’m just going to duck his
Arm and double leg him oh my gosh that was sleet so number 20 in the country takes out number seven Mason Gibson does it in his home state hey man he earned that one he pushed the pace start to finish yeah Gibson here comes the jump over now bull rushes him duck the
Arm nice duck through just stayed with that position comes out on top so is over at that point yep Gibson’s going to tie things up six to6 team PA versus Team USA man this D already living up to the hype yeah we’re ready to move on to
139 lbs where we’ll see the team made of Mesa Kyler Lin from Valiant College Prep Arizona 112 and 16 and he is taking on Cooper hornack from Burl hornak 156 and 27 as he tries to slide by Slide by to Merkel take down yeah we’ll see if he
Can strateg him see if he wants to get some back points here he’s going to really good on top and he’s good here he’s got to be careful not to choke him though maybe think about SP and horak see if he’s going to stretch him or just kind of bail out
What do you say a little SPL action nope I guess not these guys both pretty lengthy 138 Pounders or 139 I guess I should say pretty long scrambly for the weight so I I talked to them in the press conference I asked if like there’s any keys to
Victory in this just knowing these guys wrestle pretty similar and they said no I’m just going to go out and do what I do so another pretty solid answer to that question yeah hornak he’s a state champion from the state of Pennsylvania in double he’s 156 and 27 his career
Actually mentioned Columbia earlier in the broadcast but that’s where he’s headed oh he tries to slide by again kind of rushed it gives up kind of an easy taked down Lin’s going to cut him right away it’s going to tie it at three horno went to the well one too many times right
There Lin oh go Jones are you kidding me horach hits him with the Jonesy no near Four yet not yet he’s got to be 45 yeah they’re quite kind of in 50/50 position now yeah portal coaches aren’t happy they thought he had it I don’t think I
Don’t think any near fall I thought I think maybe a one count yeah a non-traditional control situation sometimes other times it can be a take down right away depending on what the referee sees there again in col you have that neutral danger zone that you can start to count if you don’t feel
The controls there right away referee felt like control was there once he gave the taked down though the guy’s back wasn’t 45 degrees or less to the back so no back points but hey that’s a nice nice exchange for hornak though he’ll take that two all day and he’s looking
For the ride out here which be huge heading into the second period yeah points at the end of the period so yeah take down and he’s going to take that 5-3 lead so I barely I don’t know if I got it out in time or not before that
Taked down but Lin’s going to stay in go to Arizona State yep hornak heading to Columbia and they got a really good thing going there at Columbia University in New York City to to all Americans this season as you mentioned pretty big deal especially for an Ivy League school especially their
Prestige uh we gonna take some time let horo patches brace up Oro was a state champion back in 2023 last season but he was second fourth first and sixth in four years in Hershey as you mentioned headed to columia and here you see that Jonesy hits it from
His feet takes him right to it yeah uh Lin was posted up on his hand Lin chooses Neutra to start the second he’s going to work right away with his underhook yeah tried to throw the underhook horach caught it but he’s able to come behind the leg and in a weird
Position man yeah L you got to watch that arm on that yeah he’s going to give it up going to say Lin is in good position to score but not for his elbow yeah maybe if he wants to be able to move his owner nerve tomorrow lurin picks up another taked
Down so he’s interested in cranking this pace up right now with a minute 30 to go in the second period we’ll see if horach can match this pace you can see him starting to put the hand fight on him Horn’s getting a lot heavier here coming
Out the back door now see if horno able to tie him up he’s on Far ankle just one hand on it though he’s got to try to secure that able to climb his way through hooks the foot usually it’s just a matter of time to he can create that pressure to
Turn down waro still wrestling here he’s got to be careful of his shoulders especially in this dual scenario you don’t want to give up a fall but he’s close he’s still got far ankle for the time being not in the best position to keep it as Lin starting to get heavy on that
Warock using those long arms able to hold on now he’s rolling it through H now in bad position he’s have to give it up it’s going to make it seven to six Lin takes his first lead of the match yeah nice Patience by Lin able to click the take down he’s given some
Mean cross faces right there some crooked lips if you will just 20 to go looks like Lin’s going to look for the ride it’ll be hor kno’s choice to start the third so an escape late here could be huge cuz then he could go down in the third and
Possibly take the lead but it looks like larin’s going to be able to keep him down Lin currently number three in the country at this weight class while horno unranked so it could be another opportunity for PA to take a big one here seems like every year at this event
PA gets one they probably shouldn’t have yeah they often times find that win it is tough on this Team USA you know don’t want to make excuses but these kids flying in on a weekend it’s easy for them I think to have an off night these PA guys come in
It’s usually rip for an upset so we’ll see where that’s going to Happ happen tonight and what weight class that’s going to happen at you Le once said what’s that excuses are for Wes Ser they you should make a t-shirt that says that good idea that’s a good
Idea horno goes down to start the third we’ll see how long Lin is committed to this ride he was kind of getting the better on of horno in that second period as it seems like horno starting to feel it but Larin just riding tough here yeah Lin’s got that tight waist and
A half transitions just kind of riding parallel I’m really surprised lurin just not cutting him it’s not like he’s been necessarily close to a turn yeah and as much as lurin been in control the last two three minutes of this match he’s only up by one as we mentioned too earlier when I
Shouted out my buddy for the famous move Corno could get ridden out here for the next minute and get out with six seconds left and we’d be going to overtime so you’d rather just cut him now have it be tied give yourself a full minute to
Get a taked down but that’s not what Lin’s thinking about and horno doesn’t seem that invested in getting up at anytime soon either yeah Lin trying to work a cradle back hook trap for lin now porno just Glu to the mad man he hasn’t really even gotten up past his base
Back to these chop tight waist chops one side than the other man if you’re horok man you just got to make an effort here yeah Lin’s in really good shape to put this one away elbow as horo he goes for Peterson he’s really good there but Lin knows it’s Comon keeping his hips
Back so kind of a weird match I would say almost dominating in a weird way but only a seven to6 Victory it looks like for Larin but both guys had two takedowns yeah pretty impressive from his feet was Lin able to ride him out
From top and pick up that 76 win so Team USA is going to go out in front for the first time 9 to6 they’ll take the Dual meet lead as we get ready for 145 PB match this should be a good one as well going to be a great one with two
Nationally ranked wrestlers yeah man here’s that jum by horno just L and post it up on that hand man that could have been a mass change if he would have been able to pick up a two swipe yeah held him there Beyond Reaction Time able to get the take down
But not able to get any near ball eventually we ended up in a stalemate position this is where Marin almost snaps his arm in half doesn’t care about his arm as he’s worried about the two-point taked down yep long hair don’t care great job by Lin gets the job done
So 145 lbs Team USA Alex br he’s from Woodberry Minnesota Woodberry High School 256 wins in his career 256 and 37 he’s a two-time state champion in the in the state of Minnesota he’s in the red singlet taking on Jack ciglio from Malin prep he is from Lansdale Pennsylvania Malin
Prep about at 45 minutes west of Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania very tough prep school he is a three-time prep Champion 131 18 Jack and siglio man up to number one in the country now after Pearson Manville taking a couple losses it’s it’s uh broad trying to go near leg in
For Merkel takedown now they’re getting rly this is where kig is really good just in these kind of weird funky scrambles he has good hips able to like follow guys really well yeah it looked like kigo it might get stuck in a headlock there but he looked like he was
Comfortable with that position and just worked right through it very comfortable talk to his dad a lot at tournaments and see him just about every weekend and he gives his dad a hard attack he’s over there taking pictures right now in his corner so no control yet I still don’t see control neither
Does a referee now now we’re now we’re in trouble he’s close to giving up the fall man he’s going to get pinned yeah that’s a Decker man that’s huge win for Alex Braun man that just kind of came out of nowhere it kind of shocked me yeah the
Crowd got real quiet took the breath out of the room Alex Brawn the Oklahoma commit another big commit going to the Sooners takes out the stand K Coniglio knocks off the number one guy in the country here at the Pittsburgh wrestling classic so huge win for Alex Brawn
Didn’t get to talk about him too much or his opponent but a first period fall for Team USA and that’s going to be tough to come back from for team Pennsylvania as they find themselves down 15 to6 yeah down nine just like that man like I said
It kind of St me by a shock I didn’t even know really what happened out of nowhere well you mentioned cigo used to wrestling in some tricky situations sometimes I can bite you I was just going to say we were both a little bit too comfortable with him wrestling there
And clearly he was to yeah got stuck in that cradle tough to come out of cradles so we’ll move on to 152 PBS Team USA Miguel Estrada from Frontier High School that’s Bakersfield California 71 and3 as a high schooler three-time state champion in the state of California he
Is taking on Ryan garvick from Central Dolphin 162 and 19 never a state champion always a state runner up yeah great High School career but man never a bride always the brides made yep always fell short there in the state finals against some really tough competitors
Yeah had some of the some hammers the last three years in the state finals guys like Tai Waters Asher Cunningham this year for State College as it’s Estrada getting in on the big double leg and he’s looking for nearfall garvick able to base down garvick you mentioned from Central dolphin dolphin not dolphin
Uh historic historic program Coach Jeff Swagger been there for a long time coached a lot of hammers but what they’re known for as their top game their cross wrist tilts and that’s where garvick excels so we’ll see if he gets in the top position if that could be a
Match changer in here as it’s kind of clear already Estrada is a bit more comfortable on their feet so there’s a second Tak down for Estrada estada committed to the University of Iowa heading to be a Hawkeye mentioned California single class state so three time state champion in the state of
California he was he was on his quest for his fourth this year dropped in the semis and probably the toughest bracket in the country heading to Iowa garvick headed to Indiana Big 10 School say Indiana’s On The Rise lately getting some recruits As Nice attack here by Estrada and he’s going to go
Take down to nearfall really good reack with that dump yeah Estrada doing a very good job controlling the elbows generating some offense from that either going with a like a little fireman’s carry type thing or an outside leg shot where he kind of dumps it either hang on to the Elbow or
Don’t it doesn’t really matter could be big Escape here for garvick and he’s able to keep his feet in erns his Escape I was looking at the wrong official I was like why didn’t he award to escape he’s over there so that’s going to make
It six to three 10 seconds to go left left in the first period see if Estrada looks to go for one more has he’s facing it garvick circles himself back Center garvi competed 160 lbs this whole season made the drop down to 152 for this said it wasn’t very fun but they
Get a 5B weight allowance so it was 157 he still said it sucked which I don’t Den I don’t doubt but sometimes you got to do what you got to do when wrestling the Pittsburgh wrestling classic sometimes you got to cut some weight and not just the regular Pittsburgh wrestling classic
Again this is a 50th Anniversary 19 75 to 2024 Pittsburgh wrestling classic again this event is presented by us steel whether it’s helping neighbors in need or investing in future Generations you us steel is committed to strengthening the communities we call home see garvick dropping down to a knee
And working out going back to this underhook Str is a strong dude man he’s a big boy yeah I don’t know garvick he’s got to find a way to get something going from his feet as he Trails by two I don’t I don’t imagine a strat chooses
Down so yeah he’s got to figure out a way to get get on top find a way to a Tak down he’s working the this over under but is just going to back straight out I could have seen a stalk right there he just back straight out of
Bounds that’s the only thing I could see from that situation I don’t think we’re calling action there well we got just over a minute to go in the second period pce slowing a little bit here’s a shot from garvick looking to go for the go behind is aoic
Dang near the corner he’s going to get it yeah that’s not the kind of shot you want though if you’re garvick not really even a shot it was more just a reach from his knees kind of just got himself extended kind of like an oversold fake I
Would call it oversold fake he faked himself out with the fake Str it right back to work just living on those legs right now we go out of bounds uh I at beast of the East I was calling a semifinal between G and Jordan Chapman it was a
Wild match man let me check what the score was but garvick was kind of getting beat up on his feet and he was able to find a way to win ended up winning 1211 to make the BC finals so he’s been here before he he can score points in bunches
It’s the problem is I don’t know if he’s going to be able to get on top of Estrada here’s another shot for Estrada coming up seat belt whizzer limp arm for Estrada gar continuing to rest a nice job there able to Circle up up so we’ve passed the halfway point of
The duel this is our seventh match 12 contested bouts get Team USA with that ninepoint lead in The Duel as I predicted A’s choice to start the third he’s going to go neutral so gar got to find his way to offense hasn’t necessarily been close but man you just got to start
Creating and if this is a Stratus game he’s going to enjoy College next year with that three Point taked down oh absolutely can provide himself with a little bit more differential he’s been definitely controlling things on the feet getting takedowns but only a three-point lead yeah that’s uh that’s a beauty a two-point
Takedown three takedowns to na no what is it four takedowns to none in a three-point match getting up over under coming up top was garvick then snaps out now garvick starting to put some stuff together there’s a shot from Estrada garvick pulls him up with the
Overhook near in the last minute here in the third period garvick still not necessarily close yeah garvick trying to get some action going a little bit more with the fakes got to think maybe dump fireman’s yeah I don’t know how he’s going to get two takedowns when he hasn’t gotten one
Yet with 45 so he’s got to look maybe taked down and back points Got That Elbow pinch you got to be thinking like fake dump fake snap and that’s not going to do it yeah garvick reaches Estrada able to get the weights of the hands come around behind and pick up the taked
Down 10 to five make it 10 to six after the Escape now garvey’s got to look big another shot here there’s that elbow control so outside leg dump controlled the elbow able to put him on his back briefly kind of like a it’s kind of like a sweep dump where he’s just like
Circling the corner and pinching That Elbow down he gets so deep on the corner the hips just follow yeah it’s a it’s a win-win I mean if you can hang on to the Elbow it makes it even easier to finish if you lose the elbow you can still yeah
You’re still in great position there great match there by Estrada control it start to finish six take Downs to n put on an impressive performance so Miguel Estrada your winner at 152 lbs puts Team USA up 18-6 after seven bouts we got another big one coming up
Here next Sam see EST Strada just going to work on his feet really controlled things from the opening whistle nice little attack there garvick was able to fend off for a short time in that position but strata to put the points on the board moving on to 160 pounds representing Team USA Charlie
Charlie Millard from Homestead High School mccoon Wisconsin he has 175 and five two-time state champion in the state of Wisconsin taking on Connor ha from Montgomery Pennsylvania Montgomery High School 188 and five he is a three-time Pennsylvania state champion Conor hair really really really tactical guy
He’s not a guy majority of the time he’s not going to go out there and blow you out but he’s going to beat you on tactics he’s going to get his takedowns when he needs to he’s going to get his ride outs when he needs to just a really smart
Wrestler never puts himself in bad position har the three-time state champion as I mentioned headed to ruers as I see in the front row one of the Rutter assistant coaches you know they got their eyes glued on this one taking in action another big 10 matchup here as Miller going to Minnesota
Nice re attack here by Harry’s head outside now coming up to the double big lift he’s going to get it two take down for Connor Herer just over a minute into the first and this is where har is good he just throws a double boots and
Stretches you out see in two minutes and if you’re ha’s coaches you love to see that quick clean finish put the guy up off his feet get rid of that scramble yeah don’t give him the opportunity we’ve seen a lot of really good high level scrambling so far in this duel but
You know you try to avoid that if you can you want those points when you can just lift and put him on his butt yeah Best Way best way to beat beat a leg pass beat a Scrambler is get the feet off the m and hair just going to work on
That shoulder with the power half yeah that lat’s just sticking right out he’s got to come off one of those legs a little bit to get him to turn he does that getting that turned a little bit it’s tight he’s getting near full man Conor har came to wrestle
Man giving some life back to the gym what team PA needed I was going to say we’ll see if can rotate his hips up but he’s going to lose just going to run out of time yeah run out of time going to pick up three nearfall though oh that was interesting signal 5
Z lead for her big Power half and Millard had a choice and he chose to defer as he did not want to go down again right away I’m sure ah yeah give that shoulder a little bit of a break yeah maybe maybe later if it comes that maybe later nice
Little short s change over for Harry’s up to his feet Conor har as you mentioned winning his third State title this year won this year with his younger brother sophomore brand hair that was their goal this year they wanted to win a State title as brothers before Connor moved on to
College so that was a pretty emotional moment for their them and their dad this year in Hershey just three weeks ago it was pretty cool experience mean 188 wins in the state of Pennsylvania that’s a big- Time number um I saw the stat I think that’s either he’s either tied for
Fifth or sixth in all time wins he’s another big double leg for Conor har and he put him down that was super close to a slam as he put him down hard if he would have left his feet a little bit more yeah yeah that was a good good
Finish set him right to his butt but yeah almost snapped him down a little too hard but nice finish and a good clean finish to go up eight this the best I’ve ever seen Conor ha wrestle I don’t want to speak too soon still got a lot of time to wrestle
But man he’s putting up points and he doesn’t look like he’s stopping say if you’re Millard you want to keep your elbows in and he was not successful in doing that right there watching this as you hear I don’t I didn’t did you see anything that looked bad there h i mean
I think in an event like this I think you got to well yeah you got be on the side of potentially dangerous especially well we’re going to do that what happened with all the scrambles of makus and Vargo there there are sometimes inconsistent I think their manes are just laying all
Over the map so n i mean I think sometimes in those power half positions when a guy’s got double boots in the bottom guy can’t even go if he wants to go Miller tries to step over if you’re just planted on your belly that sometimes there’s nowhere you
Can go and your shoulder is going to blow out before you I mean the referee gave him plenty of time to try to turn him he wasn’t going anywhere so yeah even though the coaches weren’t real happy I think it was okay but either way 15 seconds to go here in the second
Period hair with a big eight1 for re attack here he’s got 10 seconds to finish he had the leg scooped he didn’t have control split for Millard Just 4 seconds to finish here for har doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to yeah har got him the trip he went reverse
Grip on the ankle got him to set but needed to grab it the other way to pick up the second foot for the takedown didn’t get it done but he’ll take that 8-1 lead into the third Millard has choice and he wants to go neutral and
Going is dude for hair not I don’t know what he’s looking at it’s like maybe cramp take this time to thank UPMC Health Plan trainers out here taking a look at ha we also like to thank our title sponsor as this event is presented to you by us steel whether it’s helping
Neighbors in need or investing in future Generations us steel is committed to strengthening the communities we call home and again big thank you to us steel along with all of our other sponsors that make this event happen raising a lot of money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of this area in Western
Pennsylvania great Showcase of wrestling that goes to a great cause you see here almost picked up that takedown on the edge was on one foot but unable to collect the other looks like it might have just been a cramp as they were stretching out that left leg of Herer we’re going to come
Back neutral see if har comes back still looking to score points you know Millard’s going to come he’s down seven could be a big opportunity for her to put up bonus points for team Pennsylvania and keep them alive in this duel Miller’s bringing the hand fight
Now you see herck trying to keep him at Bay with these short stabs not a great shot by her he’s trying to wrestle through the position kind of an easy take down there for Miller it’s going to make it eight to three now har not going to let him cut
Him yeah he just wants to reach back and grab that leg and create a scramble just waste time or just grab the leg or just grab the leg I grabbed your leg Miller really wants to CAU him and Har is just not letting it happen told you he’s he’s he’s a tactics
Guy man yeah her doesn’t like to get easy points he wants to have to work for it yeah he just took so gets the Escape trying to run the corner as Millard but man he’s not oh nice turning saved giving up a Tak down there on the edge
Man Conor har is feeling it you can tell see if he’s able to dig deep here just under a minute to go in the third as he takes another shot not sure why he keeps taking these kind of aing shots I was just going to say that he’s getting
Close to a near side cradle position and honestly you can’t put yourself at risk with this kind of lead yeah like I don’t know why he’s taking these errant shots rather than just staying up on his feet but hey when the wheels start falling off the bus sometimes there’s no logic
Like crazy things happen they’re throwing they’re they’re falling off the bus right now he’s able to pull himself in on a leg got to be careful not to give up for side cradle now it’s just going to back hook on the leg he’s going to make it 10 to five you
Know it’s never good when your corner giving you updates on the time every 3 or 4 seconds yeah you know you know things are probably going a little rough right now there hanging on he got he got his wrestling done in the first two periods man yeah he’s got a five-point
Lead 15 seconds to go Miller peeling this off looks like he might be able to get that ankle for he’s got to be careful on his own knee 107 now that’s going to make it with just 5 Seconds to go and her just put to work in the first
Two periods yeah some super impressive takedowns and actually more impressive was the Finish picks up two big time takedowns gets a turn he’s going to end up winning this thing 10 to7 so great match for Connor hair at least especially the first five minutes of the match great match for Conor hair
Yeah puts up some points and we won’t we just won’t talk about the after that gets the win for team PA so 18 to9 is the score team PA trails with four remaining bouts the not looking good the TP right now is there got to be a huge Underdog here at 172 lbs
172 lbs we have Gage Wright from Park parkerburg South that’s in West Virginia he’s at 149 and8 in his career he is a four time state champion from West Virginia he is taking on hunter homman from Grove City High School Grove City Pennsylvania hman is 136 and 15 in his
Career right one of the most exciting guys to watch in the entire country really excited to see him in the next level can score from anywhere super powerful and he’s not afraid to go out there and mix it up as you’re seeing right now yeah that elbow made me cringe
Too Gage R is just so powerful and explosive I was worried that he’d rip that arm off he was just going to rip it off on the way on the way around Gage right uh Virginia Tech commit talking about that next level that’s where he’s heading Hunter Homan headed to American
University he’s trying to horse him over Homan a very solid guy in his own right three-time Pennsylvania state medalist he’s been seventh second and fourth the last three years he’s had a to American next year these guys hit earlier in the season at uh Power raid and it was a 9
To3 win for Gage Wright let see it hman able to make any adjustments Gage D went on to win the power eight tournament very impressively in the finals took out the number two guy in the country Burton was number one then they were one and two they swap position at the time yeah
Yeah cuz Burton beat him the uh be semis late with late takedown and then G right beat him in power a finals with late takedown two awesome awesome guys fun to watch both headed to Virginia Tech I was just GNA say that both headed to Virginia Tech Burton just a junior
Though uh would not be surprised we see him compete in this event next year we got a bar now for right hman working up mentioned there’s two four time Champions state champions one for each team this is team USA’s four-time team Pennsylvania’s four timer will be coming up at 215 that’s run Lawrence
From Frasier a would have slip the arm that time was homing but right able to bring him back down that’s locked hands that’s locked hands there know another side head box frock again you got to you got to get in better position to see that
How am I going to get well I guess again to just look at the monitor 3 feet from my face i s you yell at officials when they miss those calls you got to get in better position should I just yell that at him right now from here that’s
Exactly what he to you missed it you’re allowed to scream whatever you want you pay for a ticket right yeah word I I didn’t pay for a ticket I was close to lock hands again so one point good effort there by Homan late in the period
Yeah we mentioned the uh right big time favorite in this matchup but Homan he came here to wrestle too wants to go out on a good note representing Grove City High School here and he finds himself trailing 2-1 to the number one guy in the country he
Made right work hard in that top position in the first period too with all those mat returns and if there’s one thing I can tell you about Gage R is like he’s a guy some matches he gets tired cuz he just puts out so much energy just going for these throws and
These crazy moves that he he fully expends himself so that could be a path of Victory here for Homan just wear on this kid make him work hard don’t give anything easy here comes a nice little Hip Roll for right as he was for the reversal No Escape awarded
Yet there’s the Escape for wri’s going to make it 3 to one just 15 seconds into the second yeah we’ll see if hman can make keep it close here and keep this maybe to a regular decision things might get interesting in the final D dual score Pennsylvania definitely has three big
Time guys coming up in Tucker Hogan from Daniel Boone he’s a two-time state champ already mentioned run Lawrence and then Shan Kenny from Nazareth three-time state champion four time Pennsylvania finalist the first ever four-time Pennsylvania finalist at heavyweight yeah we we got some bangers coming up yep again three more du after this
Matchup I’m Tim Rice three more D yeah full dual meet three more matches after this go behind there I don’t want to say my name after I just made that mistake but I’ll go ahead and say it since I’ll finish it off so I’m Tim Rice along with
Mason Lynden MTH happy to be here at the Pittsburgh wrestling classic brought to you by us Steel National wrestling coaches association Cliff Keane bunch of great sponsors here to help us put this event together yeah Pittsburgh wrestling classic committee as a whole the guys they have on that board just saw of the
Earth dudes put so much effort into this event and make it happen every single year and every single year I come back it’s even better going on this single wrist right now is right just kind of hanging out here just 20 seconds to go he’s going to
Get a stoppage I don’t know what he he was signaling the stoppage for though needed a break he’s little tie TI it’s like you know what I’m sick of looking at this we’re just going to go back Center little tie tie he’s just see right stick out the
Tongue M continuing to restle look for a switch right getting seriously close to locking his hands and big return plants him on the hip Homan takes a second to collect himself before he that’s how they teaching J’s man just put him straight down on his hip saves yourself a
Breakdown would be H’s choice to start the third he’s going to go back down shaking the arms out his right now hopping back up on top see how committed he is to this ride you know homan’s going to work really hard underneath there now going elevator leg is homeman
Looking for this switch oh he’s going to pick up the reversal it’s going to make it to three I liked what hman did there I haven’t really seen that too much he actually grabbed his own leg so he came over top of the arm and instead of getting on the opponent’s thigh and
Creating that pry situation he grabbed his own leg and it pretty much just trapped right’s arm and he was able to work through that switch position I haven’t seen that before yeah that was that was Nifty I like that if I’m if I’m homeing I’m just caught in a
Man no keep wrestling keep wrestling they’re going to give up a reversal on the man that’s that’s no bueno well if you’re rooting for Team USA it is no I’m just saying that’s just back tactic right there by homman yeah you got to you got to get your Escape or
Get your get your points and then get out of there but he finds himself after all that good wrestling right back where he started getting back set underneath yep right back where we started the period working up is homeman back up to his feet right dropping down to the
Ankle going bring him back down to a quad pod again make sure you’re hanging out for these last three matches you’re going to see some big guys but all these guys are very offensive like to score points he just some scary dudes no joking Ru Lawrence doesn’t really score
Points he just pins people most of the time so yeah he doesn’t really need to put that many up he just he just kind of ends it same as Sean Kenny now Tucker Hogan he puts up points yeah Tucker Hogan he loves to Tech Fall
People he’s a cross wrist guy I think I think I do cross wrist bear see him shortly is gauged right looking now just trying to create something he’s going to get his Escape man hey hats off to Hunter homman though putting in good effort Man 10 seconds to go see if he
Goes for something here little little Dancy feet here for right we’re just going to give the hand slap good match good effort by homman made him work for it yeah but it’s your number one wrestler in the country gauge right from parkerburg South he is your
Winner 7 to four and that probably is going to put it away for Team USA they are up 21 to9 with three bouts remaining three pin man not mathematically out of it imagine two pins in a decision 189 lbs for Team USA we have Carson Tomkins from
Midon Texas he is 155 and two three-time Texas state champion and we’re grappling right away as Tucker Hogan from Daniel Boone he’s got the arm on the back Tucker Hogan a two-time Pennsylvania state champion 155 and five very ironic both of them have 155 career wins like my
Age Hogan last two years just been completely dominant in the state of Pennsylvania as he gets in on another head outside shot trying to pull himself in but it’s Tomkins giving him hips and Hogan really just trying to find a way to get on top he’s got to be
Careful not get his head too close to that knee CU that’s where Tomkins wants to be right now getting these rly py matches and now Hogan in a better position and a much better position cuz now he’s on top and has a two-point takedown so Hogan two times Champion
Headed to Lock Haven Tomkins again Texas wrestler headed to Air Force don’t see a lot of Texas guys wrestling the Pittsburgh wrestling classic I asked uh Tomkins about that earlier in the press conference he said yeah it’s cool and like hopefully he can kind of Drive the
Way Spire kids keep keep chasing their goals down in Texas and try to grow that state Build It Up wrestling as a whole because seems like a perfect state for wrestling I mean there’s a big wrestling company there somewhere in I don’t know flow something never heard of it never heard of
It slow forts so Hogan up two to one momentarily but getting in a little bit of a weird scramble here Thompson has got to get weight on this knee and he’s going to be able to pick this up he’s got to get weight on that knee get that leg back
But it’s a good hold by the official now it stting to look more like two that’s a take down good good wrestling there by Tomkins wrestling through it I can’t see what Hogan has nothing yeah he just has yep that’s that’s a take down Hogan last
Two seasons 93 and0 two state titles how many of these were bonus like 82 Falls 11 forfeits 32 Tech Falls in his career he only had 19 decisions doesn’t like to go and wrestle six minutes yeah he’s scared of getting tired that’s what I read leg comes in on the right side for
Tomkins now double boots in trying to stretch out Hogan Tucker Hogan coached by his father in the corner here always a nice moment be potentially dangerous as Hogan came up to his feet with Tomkins on his back that always creates weird situations in high school wrestling at
The high levels College locked up I said Hogan better be careful getting that head to his knee he’s getting a little too comfortable there normally he can get away with it cuz he’s got so much length but Tomkins got some length to him himself still working for a reversal
Here as hog we spent a lot of this match kind of in these this kind of position here now Hogan’s got to be careful his arms in a bad spot yeah is that does not feel good getting swipes now I believe he got a two count not 100% sure that was
Criteria but yeah it looked like he was a little bit higher off the mat three criterias for back points shoulder has to be on the mat 45 degrees or less both shoulders within four inches or else a Highbridge nerd it is amazing how many people watch wrestling
For so many years and don’t actually know the criteria for near fall I don’t know that I do honestly I just act like I do that’s what everybody does yeah there’s an es no matter where you’re at in the gym you can always see it better oh yeah 100% there’s an escape for
Tomkins can to make it six to four now see if Hogan can get on his back on his offense he’s kind of been just getting caught up in these scrambles with Tomkins and Tomkins got the better of him Hogan trained by chance marstellar Stellar trained I asked him at the press
Conference earlier what effect chance has had on his wrestling ability his career and he said he just made him tougher and going in there and getting the crap beat at him by chance every day just makes him tougher and it clearly shows but Tomkins kind of has his number
Right now a short time to go on the second it will be Tomkins choice to start the third too I believe and just thinking about chance marel getting excited for this freestyle season coming up yeah it’s about a less than a month away like three weeks away
Until Olympic trials yep up in State College this year it’s going to be a great event I will be heading there myself can’t wait for that yeah that’ll be sweet incredible wrestling on that Friday and Saturday April 20th I believe is the weekend quite literally the best wrestlers in the
World Hogan just gives Tomkins the escape to start the third he’s in on a single leg right away he’s got to protect his ankles here though on this finish that’s where Tomkins kind of been getting him he’s able to get his foot back to the mat seat belt whizard here
We were talking a lot about a Hogan in the top position but we haven’t been able to really see him there go to work yet but we’ll see what he can do with 142 left in the match Trails by three you got that taked down right off the
Bat and went and went for his cross wrist ended up giving up the take or ended up giving up the escape and it’s kind of been all Tomkins ever since yeah it’s just so weird to watch Hogan wrestle without him turning someone every match I’ve seen him wrestle it’s
So weird for me to be watching Tucker Hogan in a third period yeah I don’t know if I’ve seen it so he’s on the leg trying to finish but really just kind of hanging on legs caught like to see a St mate here possibly and as I say that he’s starting
To build up puts him on a hip he’s just got to protect those ankles like I said man got to always protect your feet man yeah Tomkins in good position because if he can keep that foot straight like that they’re not going to a to or they shouldn’t word to if he can
Keep that leg completely straight I’ve seen worse well Hogan’s not even attempting to hook the ankle like he’s not getting it um now that’s a hard way to make a living though on your shots man we get some of these guys tonight even how much wrestling just I watched how many
Opportunities they give themselves but kind of take away from themselves because they just don’t train protecting their ankles not letting guys get their feet not letting guys try to pass legs back hooking on legs you be you should be training that every time you’re finishing a takedown
And really that’s what separates guys at that next level you know guys some guys they don’t they aren’t able to make that transition to the next level and they’re not able to finish and that’s why sometimes you watch these guys who are awesome in high school and you wonder
What happened to them well they couldn’t finish those positions those tough buch little things absolutely add up and it culminates with you being an All-American or you being a backup absolutely and it’s going to be looks like Carson Tomkins in a bit of a surprise at least to me comes all the
Way from the state of Texas three-time Texas state champion takes out the two-time Pennsylvania state champ so Carson Tomkins your winner 7 to four man he after giving up that first taked down he really controlled it from there Hogan really didn’t have much for him never really got that close to a score
Again so impressive win there for Carson Tomkins pretty dominant want so we take a look at that again there’s those two nearfall points cranking on that shoulder hard was Tomkins able to pick up the win so 215 lbs Team USA Max shulaw he’s from St Francis D
House he’s from Ohio two time state champion 187 and 10 and he is taking on the four time state champion from the state of Pennsylvania run Lawrence he’s from Frasier High School 145 and8 he is a four time Pennsylvania state champion this is my match of the night these guys
Hit in the Iron Man semis it was a pretty weird match went out to a huge lead and he’s already out to with a big lift in return for the take down big bear hug I thought he was going to put him to his back so nice job by schah to
Be able to wrestle out of that position and only give up the taked down agreed but yeah it was a weird match run went out I think he got out to like an 80 lead and then uh schula when run got in on another shot went to pass ankle
Another example not protecting his feet passed ankle Rune hurt his knee and so he just had to gut it out the rest of the match ended up winning 10 to five but I talked to them in the press conference earlier today what are the keys to Victory what did you guys learn
From that match and uh Jula said I learned a lot I learned I got to protect my legs I got to uh get to my hand fight and kind of wear on them early not not go down big early and run said I I just got to protect my ankles on my finishes
I got to finish clean and Chula trying to work that underhook Lawrence not intimidated by that position fights right in with his overhook and an underhook of his own on the far side nice snap by Lawrence able to circle out shot going to the University of Virginia while Lawrence going to West
Virginia so we got a little Battle of Virginia’s here as well both these kids are just kind of freaks coach Flynn doing a nice nice job setting up his recruiting class next year coming off a great NCAA tournament this year with two all-americans shot here for schula he’s in Deep Run really
Good here locking in the crotch going to try to sit him to a hip yeah see if he goes near side cradle here I believe he got this on Austin Johnson in the state finals pick up a take not sure if he got near fall off it so he wasn’t able to
Keep that pressure on the head to keep that head buried so not able to force it down there and lock that up but he will take a 2-1 lead into the second period mentioned Tai Waters was here earlier hanging out allamerican this year finished fourth fourth at 149
Pounds yep had teammate uh Payton Hall I think he was a Seventh Place finisher so two all Americans yep two all-americans for West Virginia oh big gramby off a mat return for morren I think he might have hit his head but I don’t think he cares right
Now he’s going to make a three to one yeah I think he did he looked like he spiked himself on that green and something you don’t like to see might have just dazed him a little bit yeah as you were saying uh got a rich history here of all Americans and
NCAA Champions at the Pittsburgh wrestling classic and as we were saying earlier Roco Welsh Tai Waters were here earlier today both those guys compet in this event a year ago so true freshman all Americans with water finishing fourth at 149 lb and Rock finished in second at 174 lbs while Tyler kasac was
Also competed in this event a year ago he finished third at 149 lbs beating waters for third and just an interesting fact this year out of the 10 national champions at the weight classes six of those guys have wrestled in the Pittsburgh wrestling classic so I mean
You got to get your hands on a a program here sometime actually you got to come out here to Peter Township High School some year it’s a great event put on by the guys here at at the Pittsburgh wrestling classic in the committee put on a great event every
Year but if you look at that program I mean it’s just a who’s who of wrestling just All-American after allamerican national champions you name him he was probably here yeah so guys at UPMC Health are taking a look at run Lawrence right now again UPMC Health he looks like he’s
Kind of chilling over there there just kind of examine them out thanks also to Milwaukee Tools the Marines Cliff Keane naal wrestling coaches association but again a special thanks to us steel again this whole event is presented to you by us steel whether it’s helping neighbors in need or investing in future
Generations us steel is committed to strengthening the communities we call home and hopefully indeed run Lawrence is strong enough to come back and it looks like he is always want to take care especially with any kind of potential head injury at these kind of events it wasn’t wearing headgear right
Yeah yeah oh yeah headgears protect that everything Shah Is Not Afraid either he just comes with a big club right away yeah he says welcome back as oh yeah these guys are going at it now just got a helmet we’re worried about his health get him a headgear Yeah
Couple head gears at least re attack here for Shula morren looking to go on a reack of his own so shul definitely trying to get the pace picked up here in the second he goes got of knee pull but he’s going body lock now he gets a taked down this is where
Shula’s is probably his best this is just position really good on top yeah Lawrence got in a little trouble I thought he was going to bail out but he was actually trying to come out the back door yeah he was just trying to like throw and bail now here’s a side
Headlock position again in high school you can stay here as long as you want in college you’re going to get a five count that forces you to do something from there but Shula forces the stalemate as Lawrence gets set down underneath and I’m not convinced that Lawrence is firing on all
Cylinders right now I think he uh I could be wrong just seems like he’s kind of collecting himself not often R Lawrence gives up takedowns no that’s the equiv of like my car getting stolen for him I look over here and I see the medical staff starting to get up and
Walk over so I’m not sure if they want to put an end to this also he’s still wrestling here I mean obviously there’s no way to tell really without him saying but he’s still wrestling here going to step over going to get close to revers going to get his
Escape Take the Lead four to three oh he’s he’s kind of blinking man going drag re attack doesn’t matter got to protect his feet and he does this time nice re attack there by Lawrence so he’s going to take a 6-3 lead it looks like into the third period it’ll be
Shula’s choice to start the third we’ll see what he chooses as I would say morr his best position is probably top as well well Shea proved he could get out earlier we’ll see what he does see Lawrence still kind of trying to collect himself yeah takes a big deep
Breath as he gets ready to walk back to the middle I mean if if something is going on you want to know it cuz he’s wrestling like a stud right now yeah and you know he wants to go out with a win yeah kind of put an emphasis
On the end of his career after as you mentioned earlier becoming just the 14th ever four time Pennsylvania state champion three weeks ago some nice SM returns I love how he that knee to just pivot the hips get him legs out to the side makes it much easier to plant him
On their hip see if Shula comes up again can take the wind right out of you too if you’re the guy on bottom Shou it’s where rin’s got to protect himself don’t get yourself in bad position here let a guy pass your leg underneath he’s just going cross SP get that
Off yeah if you’re Lawrence and not feeling great this is right where you want to be his position he’s very comfortable and on top absolutely this his best position right here just single wrist out to the side goes half on the far side now if you’re Lawrence you don’t
Want to get any potentially dangerous call here yeah he want to just milk this clock but he might be thinking turn here I think normally we would see a more aggressive turn but you can kind of tell he’s probably not quite feeling 100% right now so we’ll see how aggressive he
Is on top he’s got where his turn comes in with that single wrist and half he likes guys to build up to a base cuz that’s when he runs that knee over and stacks him just as he’s doing right now he’s dang close yep he’s going to he’s dang near
Goda’s fighting hard under there like he gets a little loose with that wrist ride yeah he does close to potentially dangerous as you’re not allowed to bring that away from the body or up little Spencer Le bar ass as I was seeing both of those things happen in that position but yeah
Absolutely 20 seconds to go in the period and you see Lawrence not able to turn from this position but just dominant in the top position nice Matt returns rying wrists he might still go for it again he goes back to the single wrist he’s just going to ride it out here single
Wrist and ruin morren is going to put an emphasis on an absolutely incredible High School career picks up a win over number five Max schula 6 to three the final over a little adversity there getting knocked in the head but still came out on top yep the four-timer from Pennsylvania gets it
Done makes the score 24-2 one match remaining in the duel hey don’t go away folks this one’s about to be a bang or too the main event last match of the evening and what could be one of these wrestlers last ever wrestling matches representing Team USA at 285 lbs
Koi hopkey he is from Amry Wisconsin Amry High School 168 and two he is a four-time Pennsylvania state champion I’m sorry Pennsylvania Wisconsin state champion and he’s taking on from nazza Sean Kenny 125 and5 and he is a three-time Pennsylvania state champion so a four-timer from Wisconsin a
Three-time from PA see who comes out on top here this evening in the final bout of the 50th anniversary of the Pittsburgh wrestling classic oh Kenny still fighting this off somehow I’m not sure but it looks like hopkey is pretty close to getting this he’s only got one
Leg right now as he’s it was a weird grip but I think the call was right by the official yeah it was a good hold for sure just kind of a weird reverse grip on the other leg but stay patient with it able to go ahead and get the take
Down on kind of put Kenny in danger a little bit there too where Kenny kind of had to make the choice if does he want to bail or keep trying to wrestle and possibly get put on his back so hovy headed to Minnesota Minnesota not a far trip from
Wisconsin oh yeah and as you mentioned Kenny done with wrestling he’s going to go play football at Lafayette potentially I’m holding out hope that’s right you don’t know until you know let’s keep wrestlers in wrestling forever oh here they’re still in bounds they’re still in bounds Kenny’s elevating the foot still controll by
Hopkey which is correct get yeah if he gets under that Shin he can turn back in on this hopy still keeping the wow far ankle wow I don’t know how he got a hand on that one coming out the back door now is hopy and he’s going to get himself
Out of bounds impressive recovery there for hopy he looks like he was in trouble yeah as you can see both these guys very athletic big men hopy pretty pretty small build compared to Kenny I I would say like I know he is a decent amount less but pretty pretty bulky Kenny’s an
Interesting one because he moves so well at heavyweight often times when you see a heavyweight that moves really well it’s because they started their career at like 160 or 170 and then they work always Kenny’s always been big his freshman year he came on as a big guy
Made it to the state finals dropped that match but then has won three state Titles since then and just a big time Pinner I was talking to his dad last night at the banquet and his dad was telling me how like he’s just he’s so fast and he’s so athletic like they’re
They were handing him the off the ball in football this year which is insane it’s a scary thing to think about tackling imagine him running at you full speed with a ball and his goal is to get on the other side of you so Kenny trying to hold his base as
He Trails two to zero yeah big ride out there for hopkey and now he’s getting right back to it see a lot of these guys tonight been working on this single wrist ride it’s a big thing right now it’s close locked hands I thought I think it was more than close but yep
Okay why is everybody locking hands tonight Roll by Kenny but hopy staying down on the leg kind of has that ankle trapped now Kenny going Shin wizzard he should turn Center and try to kick coach crra agrees with you as he screaming to kick well now he’s about to
Get cradled yeah he was going to say you don’t want to come back into it it’s going to be hard to cradle guy like Kenny we’ll see if he can do it he’s got it locked we’ll see if he can take him see if he commits to
It oh he’s taking but Kenny just kicks him through better be careful over there yeah be careful that’s many members of the wrestling uh classic committee over this thing might not exist next year if we get rid of them took out the planning committee yeah well you killed the event nice job
Guys he really killed it Hop’s doing a nice job Nothing Fancy on these r just a little bit at a time kind of ugly if you will just making it happen dropping down the legs getting some rly situations Kenny just kind of basing out here now it’s been a great event as we’re
Winding things down a period and a half basically to wrestle again we started with our first ever women’s dual meet matchup at 3:00 today team Ohio took out team Pennsylvania a very well contested matches highlighted by Savannah Isaac from Whitmer Ohio Whitmer high school four-time state champion came up with a
Big pin over another four-time state champ and Alyssa FAA from Bishop mcdevit followed that up with a very competitive duel New Jersey and WP Allstar that’s the southwestern region of the state whip fuel Allstars took out Team New Jersey great duel and we’ve had a competitive duel here Team USA up 24
To 12 but we’ve had some great bouts some great action here tonight again thanks again to Peter’s Township for hosting this whole event do a great job along with the whole committee again thanks to us steel for making this event happen I’m Tim Rice Mason lyen M can’t
Wait to finish things up here third period Kenny on top Trails two- Z last period here just two minutes ago Kenny really tough in the top position we’ll see if he gets to work but hopkey going short sit right away trying to change over Kenny dropping down to the
Leg now and locks broke that’s not a good look no this is bad for Kenny as he’s getting extended yeah hopkey is going to pick up the reversal and Kenny just hasn’t showed a lot of Promise underneath not a whole lot of effort yeah you start to see why
Hopi was a four-time state champion heading to Minnesota just a huge heavyweight I’m just going to say just such a long history of successful heavyweights at the University of Minnesota so I’m sure he’s heading there trying to be the next national champ absolutely it’s going to roll attempt
From Kenny he’s going to get buried here just 115 to go in the third it’s not looking good for team PA right now it can bring it back no both mathematically and any other way you want to think about it they can lose a lot of Team points man just want to take
One more chance again thank you to us steel this event is presented by us steel whether it’s helping neighbors in need or investing in future Generations us steel is committed to strengthening the communities we call home so thank you to them as Kenny tries to work up to
His base a little bit there he gets his hips Underneath Him hopk is just doing a nice job every time he does he’s using that knee blocking it out and just swiping that knee back getting them spread out taking a look at both these lineups it’s just kind of fun to think
About and speculate who is going to be in the National Tournament finals next year yeah like really are all Americans we watched today yep it was Rocko well last year we watched him last year at this tournament he was the main event last year I don’t know if I would have
Picked him to make it to the national finals this year I did but he got the think that yeah Mason did he told me last year just kid not g to get I did before NCAA I’ll take that at Le that’s impressive I I picked them but yeah
We’ll see you know two big time lineups here from Team USA team PA for sure we looked at we watched some all Americans tonight so it’ll be fun to see how that plays out next year at the National Tournament yeah I I’m excited man these kids they
These kids are getting so good they’re getting better and better every single year and it’s it’s so exciting to think down the line what are our next national champions out of this group what are the next Olympic Champions out of this group cuz you know there’s somebody in
Here and there it is co hopy gets the job done for Team USA that’s going to be a final score Team USA 27 team Pennsylvania 12 big win for Team USA koi hopy getting the job done number five in the country so again great night of wrestling 50
Years in the books for the Pennsylvania wrestling classic can’t wait for year number 51

Please explain how a weight class gets dropped from the competition and how non-state champion wrestles for Team USA?
49 States, 49 state champions, but were going to put a non-State Champion out there.
