Corey Conners spoke to the media ahead of the Valero Texas Open, an event he has already won twice before.
Yeah it’s awesome to be back this uh this will always be a special place to me and um yeah coming off the wind last year obviously uh you know a lot of good memories and really Drew off the memories I had in 19 as well last year
To to get it done and um it’s definitely a place I feel comfortable you know place I’m you know happy walking around and um definitely lots of lots of good vibes and lots of uh yeah lots of good memories that I can draw off of out
There um really like the golf of course it’s in great shape again this year and um yeah definitely you know really fun to be back and uh I’m excited to to give it a good uh good run again this year yeah I feel good about my game um felt
Really solid especially at the Players uh Championship just um had a had an off day on Saturday that that took me out of contention but um lots of positives from the last few weeks I feel like all parts of my game are you know trending in the right direction I’ve been hitting the
Ball well um short game and putting have been getting sharper and sharper and um yeah just you know continuing to to work hard but I feel good about everything and um feel like it’s just a matter of time before you know turn those top 20s
Into top 10 and wins yeah well I think the guys who don’t have the opportunity aren’t in the field you know there’s there’s a you know a bright light at the end of the tunnel here if you if you win like I did in 19 you you know you punch
A ticket to Augusta um yeah so I think some guys are motivated sort of the last last chance to to get in the field there um know guys who are in the field obviously hard to not think ahead because that’s a special week as well
But um you know you you can’t uh I think everyone’s going to be fighting hard this week this it’s a demanding golf course you know always fairly tricky conditions and um you know got to take care of business this week definitely and that’s certainly what I’m focused on
