World #1 golfer Scottie Scheffler is playing incredible golf right now. This week he missed 3-foot putt that would have sent him into a playoff for a chance to win his third straight tournament.
Much has been made about his unorthodox footwork, but if you look back at some of the all-time greats, you’ll actually see that this type of movement is not all that uncommon!
So this week I wanted to take a closer look at what he’s doing… and how it might help your swing. You don’t necessarily want to copy him exactly, but I do have a great drill that incorporates some of this technique that will help everyone.

So Scotty Sheffer right what’s up with that finish right how does that guy hit it so well and so straight with his feet moving all around but I’m here to tell you there’s actually some great players some of the best that ever Liv that do exactly what he does some of the
Straightest hitters that ever lived and there’s a lot of application to bowling right Bowlers release the ball the same way every time and we’re going to show you how you can kind of apply some of these principles together so you can hit the ball much straighter so stick with
Me so we have all been watching this swing all year long right Scotty sheffler has just been absolutely dominating unfortunately he missed a three-footer to get into a playoff to TI for first this last weekend but this year Strokes gained to the green first Strokes gain off the T fourth Strokes
Gain total first place he’s absolutely striking the ball better than anybody since Tiger Woods so we’re going to share some stuff with you today that relates to bowling and what he does with his footwork and how it can totally help your game if we look at all of our elite
Players one of the few common things that we see is that they have great use of their balance arm and their Trail leg we want to counterbalance all of the weight that’s swinging alongside them that’s what helps them stay upright and in a great line towards their target line that they’re trying to
Complete and actually I like to see actually the foot in a little bit because as we get into the finish position we know we have to to have some tilt to the right we know our head’s got to be U on or outside the target line we
Know our hands got to be on the inside so for that to happen if this foots in a little bit it also helps keep that hip perpendicular to the Target line and because we have tilt our center of gravity is a little bit more to the
Right it also helps us with balance all right so notice this professional bowler who’s got great form you notice that ramp that he’s going to be that white line that he’s going to be bowling the ball straight down so his Trail leg acts as a counterbalance so his upper body stays
Nice and steady as he releases that arm and that ball the same way every time tell me you don’t see some similarities between him and what Scotty’s doing here notice the red line on his feet right Trail leg kind of sliding backward and then look at how stable the
Club face is as he goes through the ball really keeping his shot so online every time so some of the greatest that ever lived had some of those same characteristics Ben Hogan here watch that trail foot just sliding and dragging as he works under around up and through not great footage but Bernard
Longer foot dragging through Billy Casper watch this Trail foots we’ve got just tons of major Champion winners here Byron Nelson 11 straight Victor four in a row look at that foot notice how that gets him to release the club right in line with the target Gary Player so many
Great golfers doing the same thing George nson one of the best from Canada that ever played so you know my favorite growing up was Greg Norman right he just hit the ball so far and so straight and we can see some of that same action occurring
When he goes to hit the golf ball so you notice I mean that could just be a total image of Scotty Sheffer there but it’s Norman so how can we figure out how to get some of this in our own game and would it help us hey it’s your coach
Zach Allen here and if you’d like to permanently eliminate your slice add 20 or more yards to your drives and make consistently flush contact swing after swing then I’ve got just the thing for you I’m about to show you a method that will fix your swing fast in fact we
Often see huge improvements on the very first swing since I don’t have enough time in this short video I’ve put together a three-part mini clinic where I walk you through the exact process nothing held back I call it the one swing fix and you can get the entire
Thing free of charge by clicking the link in the description below the training isn’t available anywhere else so go ahead click the link right now and I’ll see you on the other side all right now let’s get back to today’s lesson so I think you kind of get the gist of how
Important that is in Bowling when they go to deliver the ball with the action of their Trail leg this is what keeps their shoulders more Square facing the Target and their arm going right down the target line so you know all these great players in the past we always
Thought that this footwork was some type of idiosyncrasy that they picked up that was not for the masses right but taking a tip from bowling and how they release the ball correctly we can do the same thing I’ve got a little Furniture slider here that I use in person you can use a
Piece of cardboard a paper plate anything that’s kind of low in friction take a couple practice swings first just slowly getting the feel of what it actually really feels like to stay under and behind the ball as you rotate around and through that’s so important at hitting the golf ball straight we’ve got
To have the proper position with our shoulders our upper torso our pelvis everything and then when you feel Brave just hit a couple easy ones to start I guarantee you’ll start to feel that ball going so straight whether that’s something that you do all the
Time and you allow the foot to drag a bit dragging a bit Inward and behind or it’s just a drill that you just kind of do in private just to make sure that you get your tilt and everything working through the ball correctly either way
Steal a tip from number one in the world one of the best ball strikes of the last couple years it’ll definitely help you out I’ve got another video up here if you want another video that details some of the lower body action but other than that I’m so thankful that you guys watch
My videos um and support me I will see you all next week have a fantastic week

Good stuff Zach. It also seems this technique would help keep back the hips and reduce the humping tendency?
Zach, I'd like to schedule a lesson on a Saturday. I'd like to email you if possible… Your website doesn't show an email address. Thanks for any guidance here!
I am messed up. As a lefty, hitting right, I am having a tough time to find a similar move in any other sport or activity. Great lesson ! Thank cue
Amazing analysis Zach! I see the weight being transferred totally to the lead foot just before impact.
It makes my knee hurt just watching him!
How about anyone with a decent swing. Proper fundamentals. Scottie has less flexibility in his knees so there’s a lot of twist in his feet.
