Go two and two on the season but I think the overwhelming sentiment still is that you know a good performance from the Warriors just still lacking that like ruthless you know put them to bed type mentality although they did get the job done yeah got the job done they look
Comfortable the whole whole time you never thought they were going to lose um there was a couple of big moments in the game Chanel coming off the bench um he had a couple big moments linking up with Wade there for the try and then H the
Kick that he put up for Marcelo um pretty special Kate well 50 tackles yeah big efforts uh none more so than Rogers effort with 5 minutes to go and he bats down that pass on the ponga break yeah that was huge that’s huge because we had
A eight-point gap at that time if they score 5 minutes left you know two points in it it it goes either way like you’ve seen it in the that eels Tigers game on the on Sunday which was Monday sorry which was absolute crack we saw with Melbourne right like it’s and CRA last
Year at Mount smart you know they scored those three tries to bring it back to Golden well that’s what I was thinking when they made that break I thought I’ve seen this before it was almost the exact same play they did the same thing they spread it wide Jack White down the sh
Yeah so um yeah you’re right great play from Roger and you know I I almost I want to sort of put the question a bit I said on the fence on the argument of um like should Roger play fullback I know a lot of people are like sick of talking
About it sick of asking what like I don’t know we do talk about it way too much but here’s the thing Jello and I saw someone comment on a social media post saying um why did the media insist on having this conversation when Andrew Webster has so clearly shot the idea
Down it’s not going to happen and CH is is the number one but like I think this it’s part of what makes sport sport and and what makes it fun is you can have these conversations and these debates I don’t think anyone in their right mind doubts Andrew Webster coaching ability
Or his decision making it’s just it’s an interesting topic to dive into and I like the ramifications of if Roger was to play there you know is it Char in the centers is it somebody else like Ali but you know me and Blake talked about it on
Sunday as well it it’s I’m I’m of the belief that there’s a bit of Net game having Roger um in the centers in terms of um defensively and having CHS on the field somewhere that he’s familiar with versus you know put I mean Roger is a great fullback he showed that against
The knights you know 300 run meters you know he breaks for fun but I don’t know I’m just of the belief that there’s a bit of net gain having I agree I agree with you and I think with both of them on the field like people forget what
Chan’s done last year he’s he’s an awesome fullback man he’s so good there um having Roger at Center like great the the funny thing is though and I know this is what’s going to happen chance could come out have a solid game people are going to compare it to Roger’s best
Game at fullback and be like ah get him out of there you know and that’s going to be the same for anyone that comes in to play fullback this year you’re going to be compared to not just R playing fullback but rog’s best game and you’re
Going to say n r can do better it’s almost the inverse of like sha the story of Shawn Johnson not last year was where I guess turned the corner but it was like every time the Warriors had a bad game it was Sha’s fault and every time
He had a good game it was like I will the team play like Shan couldn’t do anything right and it’s I feel like the opposite here it’s like Roger’s just the the god in the situation and no matter what anyone anyone else does the GOL of
Bid CH doesn’t play well on Saturday you know the conversation that’s going to start happening there but well the conversation is going to start even if he plays okay correct yeah but and people forget too like the the the link I think the attack over the first four
Weeks which we we’ve talked about has looked a little bit clunky trying to get into its Rhythm and people forget that how good of a link player Chan is you know in sort of that final passy area or or sort of wrapping around the back and not saying say Roger didn’t necessarily
Do that but that’s not really the type of game Roger plays as a fullback no he’s a running man he just corre he gets the meters he gets the meters in the tackle breaks but he not really going to be that guy that chanes so I think he
Does I think R does his best work coming out of his own half yeah correct so after saying we won’t talk about it we just and that’s the show for today thanks join us next week when we talk about uh who’s playing fullback oh um but yeah so you mentioned
Look in in control of the game for most of the uh for most of the 80 minutes and definitely didn’t feel like they were going to lose but maybe just still need that little bit of extra polish how good is it nuk m goes down you that’s terrible news for the youngster consider
Considering what he had to deal with last year and the injuries he’s had had to go through but I don’t think any Warriors team previously and for that matter almost any team in the NRL apart from maybe penth with Clary and Schneider could have replaced a player
Like that with someone like Chanel who would then go and deliver that kind of performance it speaks to the depth this year it’s um you see it this week as well you know cap Well’s out and marata comes in you know you got a international starting instead it’s it’s
Quite funny because um I was watching the game with my old man and he said oh so we saw Chan in the crowd before the game he said oh so when’s Chan’s back I said oh he’s a couple weeks away he said oh so we’ve had chance tan and now we

Really sharp on the wristle um great defender I think he’s got that over luky but yeah I think the Warriors miss out on just that that speed Advantage so how much I guess more pressure or responsibility goes back on Sha now given it felt like over the first couple
Weeks that Luke was taking a bit more of that playmaking responsibility away from Shan how much shifts back to SJ now without Luke yeah I think I think more pressures on Sean to come up with something within the Red Zone when they get down the other end um yeah I think
That that’s one thing that’s going to they’re going to have to deal with and uh Kur cable you mentioned 50 tackles great performance from him but he is out this week Matata coming into the starting side um I missed why I missed why Curts out a concussion yeah it was a

Is a it’s just such they need to clean it up they need to clean it up well I don’t know why they don’t just do what they do in uh the NBA um or the American Sports where you just it just happens at the end of the year don’t do this game
By game thing don’t do this point system just at the end of the year usually by and large there’s one player or two players that are clear standouts and so then you poll everyone and you ask everyone what do you reckon and look everyone last year every interview I

100% you know like the way the way someone leads a team which you saw throughout the comp this year uh sorry throughout the um the games this week you know all the teams that won the leaders of that team stood up and and took control of the game which was
Awesome to see but that’s the kind of stuff like how do you how do you put that on a stat sheet I don’t know yeah I get you um all right well uh we’ll leave the Warriors and the Knights there we will talk out the red Bros a little bit

The NRL played state of origin and the kangaroos as well uh Brent Tate joins us on the show this afternoon uh Brent welcome in good day fellas how are we oh we’re doing well mate I just mentioned uh Cowboys Bronx over the weekend mate
What a game that was and a lot of people had the Cowboys staying undefeated in that one but the Bronx come out and do it uh in front of a home crowd uh yeah pretty epic contest to kick off around number four yeah it was I uh I thought the
Cowboys were pretty poor uh to be honest I you know I thought at halftime when they went in um I thought that was a really good result considering their first half and and the amount of drop ball that they had um but you know they just couldn’t get it together in the
Second half and I think that’s a bit of a turning corner for a point their season the Bronx I thought you know they’ve sort of been struggling the first few rounds but I thought that was a really good win by them especially without some of their
Superstars and uh I think uh yeah a bit of a turning point for them and their season so good game but um disappointing if you’re a Cowboys fan hey um just looking at the the Tristan sailor situation okay so you got this young fullback hell of a talent probably not
Going to uh get a lot of lot of air time with behind Reese Wales here I don’t know if you’ve ever been in this situation but what would you do if you’re if you’re Tristan sailor would you look at leaving would you what’s your options yeah yeah I I definitely
Think he’s got to leave the club at some stage I like the fact that he sort of wanted to back himself at the club and um you know just see where he ends up for another 12 months but um look I think he’s a hell of a player Tristan
Sod I really like him and I I think he’s um you know he’s definitely a week in and week out first grader and um you know he’s a little bit older and a bit more mature um you know than what he was when he started playing for the dragons
But I I think he’s really starting to come come of age and look I definitely think at some stage he’s going to have to leave Brisbane to to you know to play first grade week in and week out as you mentioned you know you got probably the
Best fullback in the world at the moment and RI Walsh so uh it’s going to be hard to crack at Bronx but uh yeah he’s a great talent oh for sure man I’m sure some teams would uh would welcome him too um just looking across the the first
Four rounds he been upsets all over the place um one thing that we kind of seeing is uh you know teams teams hot favorites coming in um not showing up against you know some weaker opponents so I’m just I’m thinking so you you’ve spent your time uh you know with the
Broncos you played big games you know Queensland and stuff like that how do you pick yourself up with you know there’s must be an emotional drop one night you’re playing origin on a Wednesday you know could be on the Saturday you’re over at Shark Park um
You know against a bottom of the table sharks team how do you pick yourself up from each game uh for each game I should say well I’ve actually been in that exact position going from playing origin at the Shark Park here at the bottom of the ladder at the stage getting sprayed
By the Sharkies fans um made it with I just use him as an example but M it genuinely happened to me one uh one year and I I’ll never forget it mate because it becomes a real mental game then you know um you know as you say you go from
The HS of playing like a game like state of origin you know where you know the buildups normous and then you go to you know eight, at shark park where you can hear the fans on the sideline sprain you so um you know it becomes a becomes a
Real mental battle then to get yourself up and get the job done and um you know you got to have you know really good discipline and routine around what you’re doing every day to be able to have the head space to back up and and play well you know have good structure
In your life to be able to back it up and and play well on you know on a Saturday at Shark Park so it it is really difficult and obviously not everyone can do it um and do it well but um yeah look just into the competition
At the moment usually takes about six to eight weeks you know for the for the competition to sort of level out and you know the good teams come to the four and you know the bottom team sort of fall away but I don’t know if that’s going to
Happen this year I don’t think I’ve seen as many upsets in games as I’ve seen um as was you know already in the first four rounds you know there’s been plenty of upsets and um you know I think that’ll continue I think some of those bottom teams have really improved this
Year and you know like the Tigers I think um you know whil have only won two games they do look a bit different in the way they’re going about their things under Benji Marshall and so yeah I don’t know maybe this year it’s just going to
Be one of those comps where we’re not sure who it’s going to be tipsters nightmare maybe oh my tab account Brent is isn’t is far in the red with what’s been going on so I was going to ask you and I totally agree with you that um it
Does take you know the the first I guess quarter of the season to really work out where teams at but if I had to ask you for sort of like a power rankings I think most people would have penr at the top who who in justtin behind them do
You feel like is playing the most consistent or looks like a team that may possibly challenge you know maybe the top four this year oh I think man you got to have Melbourne in there every year um you know every year I I look at Melbourne
And I go no this is the year that they’re gonna really struggle um you know even I you know even this morning or yesterday I think I was having a look at that forward pack on paper with the team that they’ve named this this week
And yeah there’s a hell of a lot of non names in that pack but man they just get the job done every week they’re so consistent around how they play and you know they’re a team that never beats themselves you got to play well to beat
Mel every week and um I just again i’ I’d love to be able to ride him off but you just can’t I think the start of the season’s been great I think uh you know any team under Craig Bellamy is is hard to beat and they’ll be there the you
Know the back end of the year whether they can win the comp I don’t know but they’re certainly going to be in that top four I feel hey um having played having played at the Cowboys and at the warriors uh I know both teams have to
Travel quite a lot how would you compare the travel schedules for the two and do you reckon you reckon that’s a serious disadvantage for for the Warriors or for the Cowboys oh I reckon it’s a huge disadvantage mate for the Warriors absolutely like that that flight um and
The time difference you know it’s only a couple of hours but it makes such a huge difference and um you know I’m sure the club you know you don’t want to make it an excuse and you know what you don’t even want to make it an issue but you
Know I guess I can comment on it because I’m my away from it now but it is seriously difficult to to get on a plane and get over there and travel those sort of distances and get up and play um each week uh you know over in Australia so uh
Man you can’t never underestimate how how huge that travel component is for the Warriors but you know the last couple years they’ve done really well and um made as excited about them as anyone so you reckon they should just start the comp with a Sixpoint handicap
Maybe how do you um how do you see them going this weekend they got the bunnies bunnies away another travel game yeah another away game well isn’t it funny at the moment like like every game you know we’re only four rounds in but every game for every
Club at the moment seems like a big game I’ve never seen so much PR around coaches and players and you know wins and losses and you know it’s a great um advertisement you know for the game of how popular it is and how many people are talking about it and you know radio shows and TV shows and you know but but
You know with that comes you know a whole heap of pressure and um it’s it’s a huge game for you know especially for sou I guess um you know they you know well you know I’m sure South fans are hoping and they’ve turned a bit of a
Corner with our season after the win against the Bulldogs um but man I you know I think the Warriors are going you know I think they’re going great M you know W have had a couple of losses their games that they probably should have won
As well so um and and they’ got great depth at that club this year which is I think a Hu you know every club’s got to have depth but you got to have depth in good um key positions and that’s certainly something the Warriors have
Got so M I’d uh I’d expect them to go over there and get the job done against the bunnies early days Brent but I feel like um some of the fear that maybe fans and pundits over this side of the ditch had around the Warriors maybe not backing up last year have been
Alleviated just with how the side has played through the first four rounds just casting your mind back to you know Warriors teams you played in that that were successful that did well are there any sort of similarities you see with with this team or do you think the club
Sort of has um built in a way a new identity under Andrew Webster I think they’ve really built a new identity under him to be honest mate I think um I just think that you know there any time I guess over the years where the Warriors have had a bit of pressure and
Expectation they probably haven’t handle it but man I’d like to think under Andrew Webster that you know they’re embracing it and they’re they’re running with it because um you know they should they should embrace it they should run with it and you know the country is
Right behind them and um you know I certainly think he’s got the attitude you know toward them you know you know we get the process right and you do all the you know the things of right away from the footy footy um ground and training padic you know and and embrace
The the love that they’ve got man I can’t see why they you know they shouldn’t do well and I certainly think that um the mix they’ve got with uh players over there at the moment is perfect you know they got some guys that you know work really hard they’ve got
Plenty of attacking weapons um so it’s a really good mix mate and I’m glad that they’ve you know really accepting the The Challenge and the expectation and run with it and um mate you know I I I could only ever imagine how wonderful it would be if I ever wanton a comate like
That would be something that you would never forget for the rest of your life if that place ever been a competition yeah yeah it’s a um it’s a shame it didn’t happen where you were here mate um you know but I know you’re definitely uh you definitely live live fondly in
The memories of Warriors fans um especially the uh the owning board tucked down the Jersey there how was how was the neck how was the neck these days was that was that a protective measure did it work is the neck all good yeah oh look I had to work to keep playing mate
But um I think like most football players as we age and we get a bit older mate we’ve all got our issues from the game I don’t think you ever walk out of the game um you know completely unscathed because it’s one of the toughest I think it is the toughest
Sport in the world like you know there’s not too many other sports in the world where you know you go out there and run and tackle and try and hit the opponent as hard as you can every time you’ve got the ball or with other ball so um you
Know it’s it’s a really difficult and tough game but um yeah look M I’m I’m thankful mate I can still sort of exercise and I can’t run anymore with the knees but um you know I can still still certainly exercising pretty mobile um so thankful for that but certainly
There some mornings where I wake up and and have a couple of little regrets about playing rugby league that’s for sure well Tim Smith played in a dinner suit he’s fine he reckons not a not a scratch on him what’s the um speaking of injuries what’s your thoughts on this
Proposed uh you know there’s a proposal scrapping the kickoff and just having like a reset on the 20 M line or something like that just to take away these you know these high impacts on the kickoff what’s your thoughts on that oh m i I don’t like it you know you know
There’s some things you just don’t touch I think um and you know some of the stats around um you know I watched NRL 360 last night I think one of the stats was like under 3% of you know concussion come from a kickoff so like you know I I
Think it’s it’s an area that probably doesn’t really need to be touched you know if you’re talking bigger numbers than that um with concussion and it become a real problem but you know it’s a funny thing um this whole concussion around NRL and Sport and you know I’d be
Lying mate if I didn’t say I you know this part of me that is scared of it as well but you know I think we’ve all got to remember that there’s thousands of players that have played our game for a long long time that have got no issues
As well and and you know there’s certainly some guys that do have issues so you know we just got to be really mindful of um I guess just the whole concussion chat and talk um you know as I said there’s not a player I don’t think that hasn’t
Played the game that has some sort of worry about it but um you know as I said there’s a lot of guys that have played the game for a long time that have no issues too so yeah it’s a real tough one mate and um whatever the game can do to
Protect players but I don’t think the kickoff thing is going to be an shuee going forward talking with Brent Tate here on running it straight Brent um a couple of messages that came in from the listeners when we said we we were getting you on one from Caleb says can
You ask Brent if he sees any of the Warriors boys making a push for a rep Jersey this year maybe in state of origin obviously there’s a couple of Aussie boys in the Warriors team Mitch Barnett’s name has been Flo around obviously Wade Eagan do you see anyone
From the team maybe pushing for An Origin spot this year oh yeah mate I certainly think you know someone like Mitch Barnett again you know I talked about that mix before about you know having some you know absolute attacking weapons and then having some guys that
You know just get in and do the Dirty Work each week and you know baret’s invaluable to that team you know the contribution he makes every week and you know he’s sort of he’s like the Kevin campi and the Michael luck sort of a player where you know everyone loves
Playing with him um everyone respects them um and and they do a really tough job that goes you know unnoticed by a lot of people except for within the four walls of the club so uh mate you know he certainly why not mate Wade Eagan rise over the last couple years has been
Amazing as well I’ve loved watching him um develop into the player he’s become he’s you know he’s certainly becoming a a world class nine M Eagan and um you know there’s you know I I certainly think you know he you know he’s probably a little further away
From UM playing rep footy at the moment but you know if he ever got a chance mate he wouldn’t let anyone down he is one tough ombre and um yeah very impressed with how he’s going as well yeah I I like that you mention Mitch Barnet there because I was I was
Thinking that too for me he’s um he’s more of that LC odonnell kind of mold like he’s he’s got a little bit of a loose screw about him but he’s from he’s from Wingham I don’t know know where Wingham is that’s in the the hard of New South Wales if there’s anyone that’s
Going to go hard for that blue jersey and that’s what they need really don’t they they need guys that you know means something bit of the mle I think MIT B it be a hell of a [ __ ] Bren another one that came in here from an unnamed
Listener just said uh Brent spent a lot of time playing in the centers how would he have felt coming up against RTS back in his day yeah I would have had a few sleepless nights I’d reckon um week leading up to him play playing against him mate he’s been wonderful you know
You talk about depth in the Club I mean what a what a lovely problem Andrew web’s got with you know chance coming back this week and having to move Roger back to the centers I I think it’s a real positive for the club made and um you know they’re both really selfless
Guys those two and I’m sure Roger will go back and do his absolute best in the center Jersey and but you know he’s such a playmate he might you know even revolutionize that that Center position a little bit the way he does play you know I just give him free re to do
Whatever he wanted and you know just make sure he’s in position when he’s needed to be there but mean he you know that it’s just they’ve got so much talent and depth in that club at the moment and you know to win a competition mate you’ve got to have depth in your
Roster in the Warriors have certainly got that at the moment absolutely Brent just before we let you go one more we’ll ask quick on that’s coming from a listener as well says uh what’s Brent’s thoughts on how the Titans turn around this season obviously comes from a go
Coast fan Brent languishing down the bottom obviously dizzy hasn’t uh been able to turn around quite as quickly as maybe he would have liked what do you see the ti Titans in a bit of trouble for 2024 or do you think they’ve got enough there to to suggest that maybe
They can turn around if they get things right oh man it’s a really tough one I do know when a new coach comes in it does take uh you know usually it does take some time to you know to to to get an understanding of the way they you
Know want to play the game and new structures and you know new patterns of play you know sometimes it does take time but M I’ve got probably some big concerns for the for the totens I’m not sure whether they’ve uh they’ve got enough depth in their roster especially
Around that halves to be able to turn it around and and losing Tina obviously like that’s like not only is that a big loss of Titans a big loss of Queensland but um look I think it’s still a little too early to to write the Titans off
Completely but uh M that that’d have to be a considerable turnaround in that club for uh you know for them to start winning games because at the moment they um they’re well off the pace you know both attack and defensively and um yeah there’s some there’s some big concerns
There for sure yeah I know last year even though they you know they’ lose a lot of games they still scored a lot of points that seems to have dried up which is probably the big concern for for fans and pundits uh Bren I I said I was going
To let you go on that one but I just thought of another one really really quickly uh mate the obstruction rule I mean I feel like we talk about this every single week every single year um the B the the NRL jri has come out talked about the Panthers roosters game
Said there was a couple of incorrect calls there there’s obviously an incentive in in in a way for players to you know take the contact and fall over to milk the obstruction core I mean is there an easy fix here because that the interl are trying to make it black and
White to take away quote unquote the interpretation of it but do you think there’s there’s some way we can fix you know these sort of blunders that are happening with these obstruction rules man no I I don’t think there really is an easy fix because it then becomes you
Know you know I’ve heard about putting an X player in the box and having some interpretation which I I I don’t hate the idea of having that where you know I hate at the moment when you see guys that know they aren’t going to get there
You know just bump into them and fall over and milk that penalty for the obstruction or they’re not even making an effort to get there at the moment because they know there’s going to be a penalties so you know that that you know you leave that up to interpretation then and again
You you know it’s not black and white it’s really gray and you know what I think he might you know when a player might milk a penalty you know to someone else is just a blatant you know knocking or taking them out so mate I’m not sure which way we go
Here it’s it’s a really difficult one because you know yeah there’s so much gray in it but I think I’m like everyone at the moment I’m hating seeing players just you know or defending players just milk in the penalty it’s just it’s gotten out of control and you know every

The roosters I think roosters weren’t too bad against pen they scored some points came lateer in the game uh made it closer than than what it could be but they do have points in them we know that about the roosters the tries that they l in I mentioned it earlier in the week
