What is good everybody Welcome to under review with stats and Vish I’m stats he’s Vish Vish happy Monday happy Monday stats I didn’t expect you to go with Stats today why not rob you wanted to be stats yeah you know it’s on the screen it’s fine Rob stats Carrera you know you

Know uh who gave you the nickname stats so okay funny you should ask that because I misremembered the actual origin of it and I was reminded the other day the person that actually gave me the nickname stats it’s Todd McShay from ESPN I had forgotten this but he’s

Right because I texted him I wanted to get him to come on to talk a little draft and just casually dropping that you text Todd McShay by the way no no big deal well we used to work together at ESPN back in the day and he was like

Also casually dropping that you’re a cowork you were a coworker with Todd McShay no big deal so I texted him and I was like hey it’s stats I don’t know if you remember me and he was like remember you I named you and I was like oh my God

That’s right he did so yeah long story short Todd mcsha wow that’s incredible is there a reason he called you stats were you like his draft like compiler of numbers my what’s up my first job at ESPN as an intern was to read stats off the screen

And write them down and hand them on index cards to the hosts on the radio and Todd was working on the show that I worked on when I did that so if there was a d draft evaluation Todd got wrong it was CU you gave him the wrong numbers to read off

Of I never I mean we don’t need to say false things on the program I don’t understand why you would even say that um please like And subscribe to both channels this is being simoc cast on the gold standard Channel and on vish’s channel just search Vish Kumar on

YouTube it comes right up like And subscribe to both couple of interesting things today I want to get to Fish first of all if you are a person that has been putting out fake 49ers content today on April Fool’s Day please close your hand in a carard door like I have

No sympathy for you you’re a terrible person and I I just I think that is such a lame like look people thought this tweet was real go get a life you’re no fun come on I I was going to agree with you but then hearing that and hearing

You go to the close your hand on a car door I think that’s a little harsh I’m going to say you’re no fun now what’s fun about it what’s fun about like throwing out April fools so what that’s not funny if if you’re going to do something for April fools make it

Funny that’s not funny I’m getting a call I’m getting a call here oh God here we go are you doing an April oh God one show a year V attempts to be funny well okay here’s the thing people forget sometimes how young I am how how much older you are I like to

Remind them sometimes with the maturity level of the show that hey Vish is still young he’s still a kid he’s still got some maturity problems we’ve got the adult robed here but Vish has still got some you know growing up to do yes I need to do some developing I need to do

I need more podcasts I’m coming into the league with few few podcasts there you go you got to do the Kyle Shanahan red shirt time to develop plan yeah well well I got to get my scout team reps on the podcast I got to be handing out the index cards those

Are the real scout team reps you got a lot of those man real scout team pro wherever you start everybody starts somewhere that’s where I started uh God that was a long time ago that was like 2004 so do you ever do you ever like

Look back on those days and be like damn like I went from doing that to now I’m having my own network to all the things you did at ESP nation and all that do you ever do some self-reflection pading old Rob stats Guerrera on the back

Normally no when I last summer when I started as a host at ESPN Radio I definitely did because that was the first time I’d gone back to ESPN since I left in 2012 so that was like that was a kind of a all I could think of is like

Is this what it’s like for players when they go back to the stadium that they used to play in like I had it was definitely a weird feeling but uh I don’t do too much of that maybe I should do more of it but anyway enough about me

We got got 49ers stuff to talk about let’s get to it today Vish something happened that made me think that maybe the 49ers could go a direction in the draft that I hadn’t previously thought of and the thing that happened was the NFL handed out the performance-based pay

Bonuses two 49ers were on the list if you don’t know what it is basically if you are a lowish draft pick and you play a lot and you perform well the league gives you more money basically and so two 49ers were on the list Brock pie who

Got about 740 Grand and dador Lenor who made almost $800,000 from the NFL’s performance-based pay program Bish and I hadn’t realized it until this happened and I started looking at it 49 are secondary almost everybody in the secondary is set to be a free agent after next year money Ward dador Lenor

Taloa huanga that’s three quarters of the 49ers secondary and I think that that is going to make them go defensive back in this year’s draft and I hadn’t really thought of that as a need but now I kind of feel like it’s close to the top of the list

If only you were paying attention to what I I I’m doing I mean are you not listening to every single thing that I’ve been saying when I come on different shows like come on no I’m joking I I I only say this because I had

This idea like a month ago and I was also considering the same thing due to the variables that you discuss I I don’t want to call you slow Rob no I’m joking I I agree with you I I think that this is exactly what I I I the way I have the

Outlook on what the 49ers are going to do in the draft as well they they need a young SEC they need a young secondary kind of Lynch piece I think to build around because I think Ward not only got a contract when they signed him that was

Fairly large I think he’s probably got one more chance at another big bite at the Apple in terms of his contract because he’s been excellent the last two years in fact I would argue he’s been even better with the 49ers than he was at Kansas City when he originally got

The contract from the 49ers so I think he’s only elevated his Market in stock and he would be a tough player for them to resign given how many top-of-the-line Market deals they’re doing Lenor on the other hand might be an easier player for them to resign and they might choose to

Do it because he was a draft pick he offers positional versatility he plays inside and outside he’s tough as hell he’s gotten better every year so maybe he’s a guy they’re able to bring back either way they need a guy starting on the outside at corner that was the big

Need all of last year Rob we talked about it there were a lot of different things we talked about week one that we didn’t talk about week five there were some things we talked about week seven that we didn’t talk about week 12 there were some things we started talking

About week 14 or week 15 with this team that were brand new issues but the one thing that we did in terms of talking about this team from preseason all the way through the end of the year was who was the third Corner next to Lenor and

Ward that’s a big need maybe a guy like lutter Steps up I don’t know that wac makes this team he was a guy deactivated at the end of the season I like wac individually from what I’ve been able to seen but his trajectory going from his rookie year week one being the starting

Nickel to being deactivated two years later doesn’t speak to him having a strong place with the football team Ambry Thomas that experiment is pretty much nearly done I think he’s a guy that’s been hanging around the roster simply due to having physical Ates and just a lack of Supply at the position

And he’s been able to maintain a spot based on draft capital and such though he did play well for a small portion of last year with great confidence darell lutter remains somewhat of an unknown but you don’t necessarily look at fifth round corners always and think hey those

Are guys that are going to start in the NFL just because for the position of Corner in the NFL there’s such a physical threshold that the guys have to meet and then that brings us to Isaiah Oliver the guy they gave guaranteed money to last year who’s now gone who

Didn’t meet that physical threshold because he couldn’t run well enough to play nickel for the 49ers and that caused a lot of problems so they do need a defensive back they need a starting one there’s a lot of concerns in terms of the overall long-term contractual uh agreements with the rest of the

Secondary I agree corner at the first pick I that was really long wited I’m sorry about that but I agree if you had to pick one of them to pay are you paying travarius Ward he’s 27 right now he will turn 28 in May so

Next month are you giving him is he the guy you’re going to pay yeah I I would pay him by the way bris brisbee life says does Vish qualify for the GSN performance Bas pay program F shout out to brisby life go ahead oh that’s why we love the

Twitch fam I know the twitch fam actually probably has the most creative comments on a weeklyas I gotta say YouTube Step It Up come on guys we believe in you but I I would pay Ward Ward would be the one for sure I love Lenor I’ve consistently been that Lenor

Is one of the most underrated players on the team I I think Lenor is very good but you don’t find 6’1 200 PBS that runs 43 everywhere and that’s tarvarius Ward he’s a legitimate number one corner in the NFL he’s one of the 10 best corners in the sport he can legitimately travel

With number one receivers he matches up with all different kinds of receivers he proved that this year not only longer limb guys like DK metf who he had did an excellent job on but he does a really good job even when he has to cover the

Devonte Smiths of the world and all of that and so to me he’s a number one corner I I the other reason I would pay Ward that I think is Ward’s kind of exceptional trait that never gets talked about is Ward’s confidence always remains High we’ve seen Ward have to go

Through stretches where he plays poorly too and the thing that makes Ward special to me is that he’s able to bounce through those stretches if you have a quarterback that has a short memory and then has the physical Talent of Ward that’s the number one corner in

The NFL I I love Lenor I think Lenor is a great player I think huanga is also a very talented player but to me the premium guy of those guys is W 100% And he would be the most expensive but he would be the guy that I think would be

The biggest Difference Maker regardless of who the other two guys are around him I agree you if you pay a premium like Jerry Jones always says it’s okay to pay a premium if you get a premium in return I think you do get that premium with

Charvarius for I love the way he tackles I love just his his physic his mentality his health everything about it I love so I would absolutely do that I’d love to bring Lenor back he may it’s gonna be tough it it makes what they do in this draft this is another example right

Because even if you say like okay we’re gonna stick with Warden Lenor you may not be able to stick with Lenor because he may his agent may find better deals elsewhere So you you’re gonna have to take somebody right they have to take at least one corner in this draft and that

That corner could very well end up having a play a significant role very quickly 100% and and and the other thing with Ward to me and I I just want to add this last thing because I think it’s another thing that’s a credit to how good he is is you don’t really see

Corners where hey they’re really good in one scheme doing one thing they go somewhere else learn that scheme and then they get even better playing that style and that’s what Ward did Ward was basically a pressed bump and run Corner in Kansas City right he had some great

Games doing that and then he had a game against Jam Jamar chase that you play bump and run versus Jamar chase the entire game you might get 270 yards put on you and that’s what Jamar Chase did to Mooney ward in that game but that’s who he was now he’s come here he’s

Played off coverage really well he can still press when he needs to if you look at his Improvement last year to this year just in terms of how confident he is in terms of playing his coverage rules versus certain route con Concepts it’s night and day to me in how much

He’s improved that’s why he got his hands on the ball a lot more this year he just so much more confident and if you look at the technique difference in what he was doing in Kansas City and then what he was asked to do in San

Francisco and the fact that he was a number one corner to both that to me is a great football player not many people are able to do that we’ve seen Corners like Nam Dias and Excel in one scheme be asked to do something else and never be able to make that adjustment or

Transition it doesn’t mean they were a bad player it just goes to show how difficult it is to fit every scheme in the NFL and ward has shown the ability to do multiple things which isn’t something you can commonly find in a number one corner it’s something you

Hope to do when you’re drafting one in the first round and that’s where it comes down to I think you can draft another diamor Lenor in the third or fourth round and develop him I think you can draft another talanoa huanga and develop him even though his energy is

Infectious and he’s such a playmaker it’s not a guarantee that you pick a guy that has Wards physical traits and then actually develops playing the position technically the way he does for me that it’s it’s a no-brainer and you talked about the the premium I’d pay that

Premium for him it’s kind of on the one hand it’s a credit to the 49ers scouting Department that they were able to see a guy play a different system and be like we can sign this guy and and put him in the system and be successful but it also

Scares the hell out of me like why would you go that route as opposed to let’s just get a guy who’s really good at doing the thing that we do and and does that thing already but you know what it worked out for them because he because

He adds something else right the thing with the ners Corners when you’re when you we talked about it before the show right this is not a team that historically takes Corners early now my theory is that there’s two reasons for that one it’s a really difficult position to draft because it’s such a

Traits heavy position when we’re talking about playing outside corner in the NFL we’re talking about a speed threshold that you have to be able to meet if you have to play outside corner in the NFL you have to be confident that you can’t be run by on every single down by a guy

Which means you probably got to run 43 44 on the outside to play Corner in the NFL I know people look at the 40 time and say it’s overrated but speed at corner is not you have to have a certain threshold of speed to play Corner in the

NFL so when you’re talking about okay the guy has to meet certain traits and then he has to play one of the most difficult positions it’s a position that you often draft bus even the greatest Scouts of the position I remember Bill bich drafted Rai Dowling from Virginia

Tech at 37th overall risey Dowling had outstanding traits he never developed he drafted jojan Williams from Vanderbilt 34th overall another guy 64 210 lbs ran 44 another guy who didn’t work out so you’re talking about a high variance position because you need to meet certain traits and then when you’re

Talking about the 49ers who maybe can take a less traits player because they don’t need the guy to play man-to-man coverage all the time they just need the guy to play with the right technique why risk taking the high variance really good player let’s just take the Lesser

Player there and teach him how to play within our technique well that player will always have specific limitations and then you get into the Super Bowl where you have to go manto man and Richard Sherman is stuck in press coverage versus Sammy Watkins and Sammy Watkins does him dirty and that’s where

I think they’re thinking when you’re talking about Ward is too soon when you’re talking about Mooney Ward is you can take a player who has manto man coverage traits but also all the traits you feel like you need and Coach him how to play zone in your system and Coach

Him how to play with good eyes and of course credit to ward he put in that work over the last two years to not only become good in their system which he was last year become excellent at it this year but it’s also now hey Zone isn’t

Working we can’t play zone Mooney Ward we need you to go play Man coverage against DK metf in a game at Seattle on Thanksgiving can you do that well other guys in the system you can’t do that with this guy he’s made that change for their defense and I think that’s what

The thinking is right because the Zone guys typically if you look at him specifically to play zone you can’t have them play man but the man guys you might be able to teach how to play zone and then if you need to you can still have

Them play man I love this question from Jonathan oror because I asked you if you would pay Ward and Jonathan asks what if the cost of dador Lenor and teleno honga is the same amount you pay travarus Ward and I love that question because that’s

Too often we do what I did which is just would you pay this guy yes or no but it’s not that’s not how it works it’s a Rubik’s Cube one move affects everything else so you can’t do anything in a vacuum so if Ward costs you diamor Lenor

And talanoa Huong ofish are you still doing it yeah I’m GNA shock people with this answer who have commonly listened to my content because I’ve always been oh take the two guys over the one guy in this case I I’m taking the one guy the benefit of having a guy like Ward to

Your defense to me allows you to play with more different style Corners than if you had a Lenor and then you got to go find your number one corner on the outside that can legitimately every style of receiver that has the size the speed the physical traits to play DK

Medf on the outside one-on-one in a game right that Lenor let’s be honest I love Lenor would you want him with his size having to guard DK metf on the outside full game probably not that’s probably not the most favorable matchup so for me I would take Ward I think that you Lenor

Is tough Lenor is excellent versus the run I mean some of Leno’s Run f run fits from an ex and know’s technical standpoint are very impressive like he’s filled the open B Gap bubble as a nickel player which is very very hard to do something kaywan Williams used to do

It’s a tough ask it’s usually the ask of a linebacker and even for a linebacker that’s a tough assignment Theodor Lenor has done stuff like that but I’ve seen the 49ers have other nickels do that kaywan Williams was able to do it for a while Jimmy Ward was excellent those

Were good players too but I think you can find another deodor Lenor style player easier in the NFL same thing with talanoa huanga maybe he won’t be as good as talanoa huanga but the check marks that you say that taleno huanga does for this defense I think you

Can find somebody to approximate that at a similar price at a similar round I don’t think that it’s easy to just sign a corner that turns into Mooney Ward a number one corner in the NFL and I think even if you draft one even if you draft

One in the top 15 picks you’re hoping he turns into Mooney Ward and he’s still only 27 I don’t know that the price would be that ridiculous I I would take if I can get him one or two more years even if it’s the same deal I would draft

My next uh diomer Lenor and try and develop him I would draft my next Talent ohu funga yeah I agree I those guys are hard to sign in free agency because they usually don’t become free agents to begin with that’s that’s the thing um the Niners was a home run with Mooney

Ward I agree uh I love huanga I really do because I do I really think that there is a instinct or an aspect to huanga just the way he is always around the football I think that is a rare thing like a very rare thing I think Troy palalo had it Ed

Reed had it I’m not saying honga is on their level because he’s absolutely not but he has that similar kind of instinct and I really love that on a defense because sometimes you need a guy to just make a freaking play sometimes it’s in the structure of the defense but

Sometimes it’s not sometimes you need talanoa hufanga to sniff out a screen pass come off his man and intercept Matt Stafford and take it back to the house when the Rams are driving to take the lead in the game like I love that but I’m not keeping that at the cost of

Mooney Ward and I’m not gonna pay top of the safety market for that but man would I hate to lose it yeah 100% And I I think he’s is he not by far the best free agent signing of the Shanahan lyncha oh Mooney Ward yeah I

Don’t think it’s close like who else is up there I mean you look at their other big signings they were all bust Malcolm Smith was a bust yeah yeah I that would be the other one that’s the other one I was just about to bring up it would be him or

Mooney Warden to me like they signed Mooney Warden he walked in day one and was their number one corner and it it didn’t even it was not even close yeah you’re right all the other free agent signings Quan Alexander bust um Isaiah Oliver bust Ray Ray McLoud bust like who

Who are the good ones yeah no ex well I Ray Ray McLoud was not a bust he he did he served what he served his purpose for two years awful what what do you want him to do uh I want him to not fumble in huge games which he fumbled in the

Playoffs last year and he fumble he didn’t pounce on the ball in the Super Bowl he tried to pick it up and make a play cuz I’m Ray R MC cloud and I’m a playmaker I wouldn’t call that how many kick return touchdowns did McLoud have zero many didn’t have that many he

Didn’t have that many coming in when they signed him it was more about the yards per return because he doesn’t have that long speed how many return touchdowns did he have he didn’t have long speed Tren someone why is he my returner he’s a good returner he did his

Job for two years oh no God disagree so much better I disagree completely um Richard Sherman was another one I think Ward was better uh yes he’s been yeah Sherman was better than I thought he was gonna be but I think Ward is better than Sherman

Was yeah I yeah I I agree with that I I just I mean the Chiefs man someone put Zara I saw put in the comments about Dave Merritt and Spagnola they kill it in terms of defensive back development they’re the one team that can take fourth fifth round guys and turn them

Into number one Corners like Sneed obviously Mooney Ward comes from there they had bashad breelan playing his best football um obviously Trent McDuffy is a stud Justin Watson or yeah Justin Watson Joshua Williams those guys look decent like they know what they’re doing with Corners out there and they’re getting

Them to play manto man they’re and usually when you’re talking about getting man-to-man Corners you’re talking about drafting them in the top 15 picks of the draft top 20 picks in the draft if you’re lucky the top 50 picks and they’re out here in the fifth round getting stud number one Corners

Crazy you know what I love about manto man it works against anybody like people are like oh the 49ers you can solve the 49ers offense if you could play good man-to-man coverage I’m like yeah manto man works against anybody you could solve any defense that they literally

Can’t get away from you it’s really hard to do it oh it’s incredibly hard to do it but I mean look at I mean this offense for the 49ers this year was awesome 30 points a game pretty much and yet when they got played mid tight manto

Man like in Cleveland or like in the Super Bowl I mean it it makes it so much harder it makes everything harder and so yeah you’d love to be able to get a bunch of guys that can do that but they don’t grow on trees but the ners have

One in Mooney War yep and and that’s where when you’re talking about tip manto man coverage like people I hate when people throw blanket statements like arm strength doesn’t matter for quarterbacks because we’re talking about situational moments where yes having a stronger arm does matter and when you’re talking about teams playing tight

Man-to-man coverage and this is a general statement I know a lot of people are going to think this is specific to the 49ers it’s not it’s a general statement the arm strength and precision of your quarterback matters that much more then so you can be like yeah

Watching him throw and how well he throws it it’s a little bit overrated because of he needs to make decisions and all of that but there’s situations where yeah having Matthew Stafford who can throw it the way Matthew Stafford can throw it it’s tough to play manto Man against the Rams well because

Stafford’s going to be able to fit it into pinpoint windows and he’s going to be able to pick his matchups so that’s where it it’s all interesting because situationally some of these traits can be maybe overvalued because they’re not like arm strength isn’t needed in every quarterback situation

There’s a requisite amount needed but you don’t need the strongest arm in the world in every situation but there are moments in the game and those moments could be the key moments between winning a Super Bowl and not winning a Super Bowl where these individual traits of

Players start to matter and that’s why we see the most physically excellent players typically be the most dominant in the league I think there’s a reason Brock py said arm strength when he talked about the things he wants to get better at this offseason like Brock himself said that

He’s not saying that for no reason and I thought Josh Allen had a really good explanation of arm strength he’s like my arm strength doesn’t come into play when I’m throwing the ball 50 yards down the field like that’s not when really I use my arm it’s like the the balls that I’ve

Thrown the hardest are on third down over the middle when there’s a tight window and I have a small chance and I rip it in there he said that’s when I throw the ball my hardest it’s not like on the long bombs down the field it doesn’t happen and so that’s speaks

Exactly to what you’re talking about the situational moments where nothing’s really there unless you throw a perfect pass with Incredible velocity into a very tight window and uh charvarius Ward and guys that can play tight man coverage make those windows even smaller do do you think they’ll get this

Extension done before the season I think this is yeah because I feel like there’s money that they can give him a little bit more up front and restructure him in the back end like he’s my candidate for restructuring with his deal that could maybe throw an extra year on his

Contract they don’t well they don’t need to though right now in terms of in terms of freeing up cap space they have cap they don’t need to they don’t need to today I I just am talking about in general because I but then if I’m Ward I

Don’t want my contract touched right now because I feel like I can go get more than what my original contract was on the open market it’s it’s an interesting situation so he’s going to count 17.1 oh no excuse me 18.4 million against the cap in 2024 which isn’t bad honestly no for a

Top Corner which I think he’s a top five Corner would you disagree top 10 yeah you think top 10 now you don’t think he’s top five that’s tough you’re talking about s Gardner and Pat are and yep there’s a lot of names there still okay let’s say hey let’s say he’s not

Like lockdown corner but you know like right onea right under I would he’s one of I think he’s a number one corner in the NFL he might not be the best number one corner in the NFL but if there’s eight number one Corners in the NFL he’s

One of the eight there’s 10 he’s one of the 10 getting him for 18.4 million he’s underpaid that’s a bargain for the 49ers and yeah I don’t know what he wants but I kind of agree with you if you’re him maybe you’re like forget it just leave

It alone I’ll play this year and then I’ll hit the open market and then I could always resign with the 49ers anyway like just because he hits the market doesn’t mean he has to leave well and that’s the Devil’s Advocate to my point because the other thing with

Corner is because there’s such a physical tax in terms of playing the position it’s probably the quickest people say running back corner is actually the position where you need youth the most how many 30y old Corners do you know that are still in the top of

The league how many 28 year old Corners do you know that are still top of the league when you look at every great Corner think about their career they were probably most dominant year two to year four when they were 21 through 25 that’s just their physical peak playing

The position and so that’s the risk with Ward like that’s the Devil’s Advocate to my point is yes he’s peaking right now but you’re G to be paying him when he’s 28 and 28 to 30 might all of a sudden just be a decline cuz he’s played Corner

In in the NFL for eight years and hey wear and tear attrition he can’t run as well as he did when he was 25 so that’s probably the point and it it it makes no it when I bring it up it’s like what’s what’s the point of bringing it up

Because none of us have no way of knowing like physically where he’s at and what projection there is but that’s the anti-c conversation to yeah he’s really good but you’re usually playing for players for what they’re going to be rather than who they are at the moment

And what you’re going to be when you’re talking about the physical projection of the corner position with Ward is a 28-year-old guy probably making $18 million $20 million so then do you just say we’re not gonna give him the contract we’ll just franchise tag him that’s why maybe you draft the guy this

Year and you hope he becomes a number one corner franchise tag for Corners uh let’s see the franchise tag is 19.8 so technically that would be a little bit of a raise pretty much the same thing though it’ll be for next year it’ll be 20 million I’m sure I would do

That if I’m the 49ers then if you’re not sure about you know how much longer you’re going to get Peak Mooney Ward tag him once maybe tag him again if you absolutely have to if not let him go I I yeah I would I would try drafting

A guy and hoping I My Hope Beyond hope for the 49ers is they have so many young quote unquote options at corner some of them might make the roster some of them might not but they all have some s semblance of talent and draft investment you hope excuse me somebody or even a

Guy you pick in this draft just establishes themselves the way Lenor did two years ago because if you have at least one starter at that point now making the decision on Lenor uh Ward and huanga completely changes why this conversation has taken us 30 minutes is because there’s no

Replacement for any of those three guys and that’s why it’s so difficult to then come up with who’s more value able than who because if you remove all three there’s not a starter on this team at any of those positions or even a perspective guy like a guy we think can

Become a starter maybe lutter if you look at the history of teams and why they suddenly become good and why they suddenly become bad it’s always the draft always every single time without fail because that is your young Talent that’s how you get young talent to restock the cupboard but not

Only that to play to outplay their contracts that’s really the key and these upcoming drafts this one right here with 11 picks this is one of the most important drafts since 201728 for Kyle Shanahan and John L I’m going to explain why I I’ve been catching up with the Dynasty stuff I

Haven’t watched the full documentary but one of the cool things about that is they talk about how 2010 was a transition year for them that was kind of from one Dynasty year to another that was when they went from the Richard Seymour Ronnie Harrison um Gerald Warren

Uh Teddy brusi Patriot Dynasty to the Devon mccordi um Rob gronowski Patriots dynasty and they talked about how they picked all of them in 2010 for the 49ers we’re upcoming transition as we speak they’ve been to two Super Bowls in three NFC championship games with this George

Kiddo Debo Samuel this built roster now we talked about possible turnover this year it’s possibly not happen but they have 11 picks in terms of rebuilding their 10 picks I’m sorry in terms of rebuilding their team for this year and Beyond this is the transition year they’re about to pay Brandon iuk from

What we think he’s going to make a lot of money they’ve already paid Nick Bosa a lot of money Brock pie Jed York has already said that they’re dictating and uh creating space to be able to handle that contract the identity of this team is about to change right here in the

Next couple years they’re about to have different guys become the prominent figures of this team the George KD the Debo Samuels whether they’re gone this year whether they’re gone next year these guys are gone in the next couple years that’s the reality of the way the financial structure looks for the 49ers

And so being able to rebuild their second kind of nucleus with Brock py and Brandon auk and Nick Bosa at the center of it will happen in these next couple drafts and they’re really important they’re really important and they’ve had some misses in 2021 and 22 that were okay because they had already

Established the nucleus from 17 to 19 now they’re going to have to reestablish a nucleus slowly and it’s going to start with the 10 picks they have here 100% agree and it it could have started with the last couple drafts but unfortunately they’ve kind of swung and missed that’s

Why this draft becomes so important like you said because you haven’t gotten anything much from Cameron latu or Drake Jackson or Trey Lance obviously or Trey Surman I don’t think they’re going to sign Aaron Banks to a second contract so you now you’re right like if you’re

Going to make that transition and still be good through it this you’re going to have to get a lot out of this draft yep and and it’s a little bit twofold right because those drafts also those guys came into crowded positions and crowded rosters and so it was like they had to

Really compete and be at a certain level to get on the field right away so their development was kind of skewed by that whereas like the guys who came in in 17 they got to be really bad on really bad teams and grow from there so like the

Immediate ass to get on the field was very different and for these guys they’re coming into a slightly less competitive environment than the guys in 21 and 22 were coming to I think if you look at the Niners roster just depthwise it’s probably worse today than it was

Two years ago you’re missing a lot of Jimmy Wards and kaywan Williams’s and DJ Jones and a lot of just like very solid players in terms of those type of names but yeah it it’s going to be very very important over the next couple years that they you know establish abl Lish a

New core and are able to draft guys that you know become the next era of 49ers teams that go to the NFC championship game and hopefully Beyond and that’ll be Brock pie that’ll be Brandon auk that’ll be Nick Bosa like you said and that’s kind of it that the rest of those guys

Are not on the team yet right maybe J maybe Fred War you can throw Fred Warner in there probably getting up there though Fred’s no spring chicken I think he’s 26 or 27 right is he still that young I thought he was pretty young maybe you can add

Fred Warner into that he he’s 27 right now he will be 28 in November so he he can stick around for he’s got a little more shly yeah but but the debos the KD even CMC when we’re talking about five out of seven years with 300 plus touches

Yeah he’s still amazing but it’s the reality of the running back position yeah for sure they’re GNA they’re going to have to transition it and it’ll it’ll be really interesting to watch how it plays out and I’m glad you brought up latu because latu to me is a great

Example of another topic we can get to with them giving guaranteed money to Brock Wright I’m not going to do the old content creator hahaa this is Brock Wright even though I learned who he was two days ago I’m GNA pretend like I know everything about Brock Wright and tell

You why this is a great or bad signing I I think this is where I I’m framing the Brock Wright signing for you and be stick with with me for a second stay with me now as oo says I’m my favorite show to un he’s not officially signed

Yet well the Lions still have do they have one more day to match they have till Wednesday till Wednesday so two days to match but where them giving that much money to Brock Wright what it means is dude the latu situation like usually they give a guy one year and then the

Next year they’ll give him a chance to be the guy like Drake Jackson right he got last year he got his first year as a rookie and then his second year he got his chance to change his body if you remember they didn’t make any large Edge Investments they said Drake Jackson this

Is your chance he got three very questionable sacks in the first game and then when Drake Jackson proved he wasn’t the guy hello Randy Gregory hello Chase young in this year they didn’t even mess around with Drake Jackson They said Leonard Floyd you are what Drake Jackson

Was supposed to be and Drake Jackson we’ll see if you make the team they put him on notice but they gave him one year they usually give these guys that one year chance even the tdps the Trey Surman they got one year to come back with latu yeah he might make the team

But the fact that they’re putting this much money into tight end too means they have no faith in that well and usually the Niners give their draft picks a chance because they understand fiscally it’s responsible to give the guy you drafted at least one chance uh to prove

That he’s the guy because he’s always the cheapest and most efficient option with this one it feels like they’re not even giving that chance which makes me think that there’s probably a lot more wrong with latu than even just oh he had training camp Yips and oh they wanted to

Give him a year to red shirt like they might feel like he just can’t play and I you know look everything is everybody’s injuries are different but like Eric armad Torres meniscus against the Eagles and played the rest of the season through the Super Bowl cam latu tore his

Meniscus and missed the entire season like they put him on ir and it was like that’s it you’re done and to me that also was a sign that like they were like he’s not going to be it this year you know we’ll see what happens you know

Maybe he can fight for a roster spot later but yeah that’s not a good look the fact that they’re reportedly or attempting to sign Brock Wright to a12 million contract with six million fully guaranteed you know that tells you all you need to know 100% and you went with

Like the injury thing that’s the point to me like if they felt he would be a contributor at any point regardless of how training camp looked regardless of anything if they had full belief they wouldn’t have just been like yeah you’re red shirting this year basically the red

Shirt says everything and then the fact that they’re pursuing the tight end too like I thought they would give him a chance Rob this year like maybe he had a strong off season and changed his body and I think maybe if he had a good year in terms of like the other professional

Stuff inside of the building they would have been like all right he’s grown up a lot over the last year he wasn’t ready to play then now he is Aaron banks for example he had that where basically he wasn’t ready to play year one but he did

Enough over the course of the year in terms of changing his body and all that for them to feel like okay Aaron banks will be our starting guard at left guard going into the next year without him ever really playing a snap with latu clearly whatever it was in the building

Too like even TDP man remember John Lynch at the combine said he’s never TDP is working his butt off he’s in he had a lot of hype this off season too I remember Trey Surman was in the shape of his life too but that’s what I mean like

Everybody has draft misses but how are they missing on guys so badly that it’s like you play in training camp wh you’re so awful there’s no hope for you like that’s a different than a Miss of hey we thought this guy could be a star and turns out he’s a League average player

There’s misses and then there’s we missed so badly this guy can’t even be active can’t even be a contributor can’t even be in the league but it’s so hard right cuz you’re not just projecting football and that’s where I I feel like a lot of people when they get into the

Draft anal and hating on the draft analyzing they’re forgetting that this is also a real life transition for 22-year-old human beings like do you remember what it was like Rob when you graduated college and you were on your own handling your job for the first time

Now give yourself a 100 million not a hundred maybe like 20 million do in your back pocket on top of that and your job probably has a lot more professional pressure in asks than the normal 23-year-old starting job where they kind of ease you into your career when you

Throw those things in that’s where I completely understand the misses because hey you might bring a guy in and he might have been the hardest worker in college and he might have gotten it there but the moment he bought his mom his house he doesn’t know what he’s

Playing for and he doesn’t have that urgency anymore and sometimes it takes two or three years for people to find that urgency sometimes they never find that urgency so I totally understand why these draft bus happen that way because as much as personal psychological whatever evaluation you can do it is

Such a transitional phase for a human being and you can’t guarantee that every human being is going to handle that phase the same way and everybody matures at different rates with that I and the only reason I I’m not a very empathetic person I I don’t think I’m not as

Empathetic as I would like to be anyway but the only reason I have some sort of empathy towards this is because I I’m going through that myself and every day I feel like man there or not every day but there’s definitely days where I feel

Like man as an adult like I didn’t do every as adulty as I could have I was like I didn’t I had a like meal that wasn’t very adulty like those things happen and that’s where if you put the professional pressure of giving me millions of

Dollars and making me an NFL player and like every one of those days matter because my profession is that competitive I I just understand how people flame out from that standpoint because I feel like it would be hard for me too in that spot first of all as a

39-year-old adult I’m let me just tell you like there is no there that well you just talked about oh I didn’t have a real adult dinner like that doesn’t exist that’s a thing you think when you’re young and you think that adults like there’s a level that you get to

Where suddenly you’re doing nope nope you know how many nights I’ve had macaroni and cheese for dinner and chicken nuggets for dinner especially with kids there is no magical adult level that you unlock it’s a that it is a myth it is a fantasy it doesn’t exist

We’re all just trying to get through the day I can’t remember who it was but somebody was giving an injy report once and they were like so and so is dayto day aren’t we all and the answer is yes we are I’m just trying to get through

The day um look I know it’s hard right I talked to Thor Nystrom who’s a draft analyst for for uh fantasy pros which is a really good interview it’s on the channel now which nobody watched but please go and watch it and he talked about how has a friend who’s a baseball

Scout and he said to his friend like man you got to look at these teenagers in high school and project them to the major leagues how do you do that that’s got to be really hard and then his friend the baseball Scout looked at him

And was like no it’s not hard at all you got the hard job he said baseball is an individual sport that’s masquerading as a team sport with football so much of what you do is affected by the people around you the scheme that you’re in the coaches that you have the injuries all

That stuff and you are trying to unspool that you’re trying to analyze this player and break him down separate from all of that and that’s why it’s so hard because it’s really hard to do that it’s really hard to separate that and that’s why there are so many misevaluation totally totally makes so

Much sense right it makes so much sense and then like we went to the scheme fit with the free agency but with draft too Rob right you see a guy and he plays a certain style and maybe he’s like 45 minutes from home in college and he’s in

Complete comfort zone family is coming to every game and he’s very good at playing that style and then you throw him into the NFL and you think he can do something else and he’s in this totally new place oh man I I wish it did and

He’s in this totally new place and he’s maybe not at like he now has to deal with all these life things it it changes everything when it comes to the NFL and and that’s why the projection is so hard I I think I understand though what your frustration is with the 49ers cuz

Sometimes it feels like they make the same mistake twice where it’s like you tried something and okay we understand why you tried it like we get it it didn’t work for you guys then why are you trying almost a very similar type of thing again I I I think that’s the one

Thing with the Niners and drafting that can sometimes be like why like and I think TDP tracerman kind of fall in that even though they’re different players the Nuance of them being slightly larger bigger backs that maybe didn’t I I don’t know I thought Trey Surman had great

Feet I I don’t know why that never worked out but anyway um anyway uh I I think that like that’s maybe the criticism but otherwise I mean overall man the drafting has been pretty solid it’s just now can you get another Debo Samuel because that’s what you’re going

To have to start to look to pick if you want to get another team that’s this caliber again just because hey these guys have reached kind of you’ve almost all you can out of this orange Ross Johnson says they’ve made that mistake more than twice Eddie V says I

Can 100,000% agree with Rob as a 41y old give me the dino nuggets uh the truth says I’m a rough 39 so thanks for that really appreciate that I’ve got most of my hair still I’m looking at that very young for 39 I will actually tell you

That like just as a straight up like this light is not doing me any favors I got to get a new light but thank you uh yeah the draft is massively important clearly the Niners have to enter into their next phase when you say they need another Debo do you mean like another

Debo or do you mean like they need to find their next kind of like freak guy on offense oh oh I don’t mean drafting Debo Samuel I mean when you drafted him in the second round and he started from week one day one and been a foundational

Piece I I mean like that like that’s that’s that’s why I evoked the Patriots transition and I was listening to Mike silver and David Lombardi earlier and Mike silver was talking about the Niners attempting to transition in the 90s and how that transition worked in 19 after the

1991 uh NFC Championship loss with going from Joe Montana to Steve Young and all of that I’m not saying it needs to be that Monumental I’m just talking about historic of hey you had this team that competed with this core for this long now you’re going to take the remains of

This core and you’re going to put a new nucleus around it and that’s why I brought up the New England because they had the Brady Bell surrounded by Randy Moss and Ronnie Harrison and Teddy brusi and Richard Seymour and then the second Arrow was surrounded by groon and Julian

Edelman and Devin mccordi and Brandon Spikes and Gerard Mayo was kind of in between both and Dante Hightower so that that’s really what I’m talking about that new nucleus of it doesn’t have to be specifically Debo but you draft another guy in the second round that becomes a franchise player that you want

To give a second contract to that I think that’s really the opportunity and the Niners are honestly like 30% of the way there right they’ve already built a core and they’re already transitioning people from the first part of their nucleus they have an edge rusher that’ll

Be in their second part of the nucleus they have a quarterback already for the second part of their nucleus and they have a number one receiver let’s see if they have the quarterback on paper on paper they feel that way right they don’t look at any of those three as

Needs and those would be three things you would look for building an original nucleus the yes the bridge is the quarterback if you have the quarterback it you can much more easily do like what the Patriots did is under more understandable when you’re like okay they had Brady through the

Whole thing right what the Packers have done going from Favre to Rogers is almost impossible what the 49ers did going from Montana to Young when you have to get the new quarterback for that new era that’s really freaking hard so if Brock is is really what they think he

Is that’s going to make the transition a billion times easier agreed but I do look at new englands as more impressive in a different way because once you have the quarterback intact it becomes quite easy to win eight to 10 games in the NFL because that player is just such a force

Multiplier right like Manning for years you could put down 12 games Rogers for years you could put down 12 games these guys no matter who the coach was who the team was what they were surrounded by they were going to win their division they were going to win seven games in

Lambo eight games at Lucas Oil that’s just how they did it so it’s easy to do that once you have the quarterback what’s hard to do is surround the quarterback with multiple Super Bowl teams especially multiple iterations of Super Bowl teams and that’s where New

England being able to okay we had H Hall of Famer Richard Seymour possible Hall of Famer Rodney Harrison I think I called him Ronnie Harrison earlier comparing him to the Alabama safety sorry about that possible Hall of Famer Rodney Harrison right rusi is Hall of

Fame caliber like you had a list of Hall of Famers that were part of Randy moss part of the first era and now you Devin mccordi Hall of Famer um Dante Hightower he will be in that conversation uh Rob bronowski Hall of Famer like they got

Their second wave of Hall of Fame core around Brady and bich like that never happens like they built one roster in Green Bay and Rogers took it to the Super Bowl and did it and then Nick Collins had his neck that was one of their core players never could replace

Him Woodson retired never could replace Woodson Tramon Williams for a portion yes wilfor fork for sure my bad um Tron Williams for a portion was a number one corner they never really got that replacement they never could replace the Desmond Bishop um uh def interior middle linebacker thing that he had for that

Small portion of time when he played really well for them so BJ rajie and those guys up front could never really replace that they could never get that Clay Matthews production that they got for a year or two in that’s uh space so I think that while I agree going from

Quarterback to quarterback is the hardest thing in the NFL I think the second hardest thing is actually building that Super Bowl team around your quarterback and being able to do it multiple times the Niners have already done it once they built that caliber team but they didn’t complete the job

They’re unfortunately in a transition point where after this year they’re going to have to put to put it together again and the one thing that’ll make it easy to put it together again this year would be nailing three of these draft picks with just cinch starters future

Like just guys first of all Dante H toow is not gonna sniff the Hall of Fame and he shouldn’t uh I agree he’s he won’t sniff it in terms of like he wasn’t that caliber player but I think he’ll be around the conversations when that time

Comes cuz you’ll be like oh three Super Bowls he had the force fumble on Ryan all of that yeah he shouldn’t be it’s really hard for people to say hey that guy was a really good player and won a lot of titles but is not a Hall of Famer

People just don’t ever want to admit that um agre but I agree with you but I think if you if you have the quarterback you don’t have to hit on every single one of those other positions like you might be able to get by even though you

Haven’t filled X rooll but if you don’t you’re stuck you’re stuck you’re always getting by you’re always Green Bay winning 12 games and everybody’s complaining that you’re not winning in the playoffs you’re Buffalo but if you don’t uh have the quarterback you got to hit on all of those other ones and even

Then if you do you still might not get over the hump so and you need both that’s what it goes to show like that’s what Brady and Mahomes ultimately I think really prove and what I hate a little bit this is a small tangent Rob is I feel like Mahomes is starting to

Get a bit too much of outsized credit for a lot of Aaron rogers’s contributions to the quarterback position like I think people are looking at momes and being like I think 2010 2011 2012 Rogers like the mechanical changes he made to the position like that to me is what inspired momes Allen

This entire era like I think Mahomes had his own inspiration but I think because Mahomes is achieving so much more than Rogers he’s just going to seize all of that credit and become the iconic player that inspired everybody to have this new style and new era of quarterback um but

Either way I I just look at it and I go man even with those guys Brady and Mahomes you have to put these kinds of teams around them to have the consistent winning because you can have guys like Rogers and Manning who might be equally

As good but never had the team and you only win one or two and winning one or two apparently isn’t even enough a man I’d take one today oh Manning had really good freaking teams around him like he had Marvin Harris reie way Dwight freeny Bob Sanders like he they had really good

Play he had Jeff Saturday the for sure T Glenn edrian James Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison but when you can’t stop the run in the NFL how do you expect to win playoff games and then Mike vanderjack that that was one of them that’s the only time I’ve cried for a non 49ers

Game was wearing my pton Manning jersey in 2006 and Mike Vander jet oh screw that guy people always act like pton Manning didn’t win a lot of playoff games he made four Super Bowls like for sure like people are like oh pton Manning chokes in the playoffs it’s like

What he got to four Super Bowls it was because of the early reputation though right like 01 to 06 kind of set his reputation cuz once he made it an ‘ 06 he was kind of pretty consistent in terms of them winning in the playoffs and in Denver he was consistent and

You’re right four Super Bowls but I I think that them not being able to stop the run in those early Colts runs and then New England winning so much with Brady is what kind of causes that perception and I think that’s where like even though they had those great teams I

Think that was a disservice to Manning because not being able to stop the run is like I mean we saw with the 49ers this year in the playoffs you can feel like the game is running away from you at every point in the game like that’s

How the Lions game felt for a large portion of it because jir Gibbs could not be touched by a 49ers Defender for the first half yeah I feel like the the Patriots winning like skewed the perception of pton Manning like it didn’t make Manning worse in the playoffs just meant Tom

Brady was freaking amazing smack Jones 919 thank you for the Super Chat says if we draft a starting offensive tackle defensive tackle and second tight end are we good you’re assuming all those guys turn into starters oh yeah I would feel great about that that’d be a what a

Draft yeah exactly that’s a home run knock outof the Park Grand Slam draft a starting offensive tackle and defensive tackle right think about it this way like if you’re if you’re surprised by that answer let’s go back and look at some of the best Shanahan Lynch drafts

Right 2019 is a great one you got Bosa Debo Greenlaw and wishnowski but who cares Bosa Debo and Greenlaw in that draft three starters three Superstars really in tarvarius Moore too yeah well okay oh tarvarius Moore was 18 that’s my bad that’s a tremendous tremendous draft

Even 2020 you got Brandon auk and Jan Jennings that’s a pretty good draft now they only had five picks that year three or four they had five they traded they traed Colton mckivitz Charlie Warner and Joan Jennings oh I forgot about Warner that’s my mistake I thought they you’re

Right they I thought they came in with five and then drafted the four because they traded for Trent Williams uh but you’re right that’s my mistake sorry about that that’s all right let’s look at 2017 uh George KD and they got DJ Jones that’s a pretty good draft my point is

One or two names were pulling out and we’re like hey these are good drafts that’s how it goes so if you’re telling me they get three starters this month in April that’s a home run yeah I I if you get one like George KD in a draft it

Makes okay 2017 yeah they missed on like eight different guys but they got a franchise tight end a guy that a culture changer a guy that will be in the conversation we keep throwing Hall of Fame out there he’s got a chance when his career is done to be around

There he’ll he’s got a chance look at the all Pros no chance he’s got two all Pros two first team though how many tight ends have M multiple First Team all Pros I you gota be you got to put up wide receiver numbers at tight end to

Have a chance George even scored 40 touchdowns that is true but to be fair we don’t even know what the criteria is cuz different people vote for different people depending on how Kajol they were with the media in their career that’s true he’s gonna get the media bump

Because everybody loves him oh exactly for sure for sure Bryant Young never got yep if if George had a Super Bowl ring oh he might yeah he might squeak in maybe but cuz he would be one of the iconic players of a Super Bowl team which almost gets you in usually on

Reputation but but either way um I I he’s he’s like you get one of those guys in a draft and it’s a home run you even get multiple starters in a draft and it’s a home run oh thank you um actually likes your hair V appreciate it thank

You it is looking I mean look you’re giving as a run for money I need a haircut that’s what I need but yeah I haven’t gotten one in a very long time how many weeks you go between haircuts I I used to be like a month

Month and a half that’s where I am just just somewhere in there just go get it done but I’ve got I’ve think I’ve haven’t gotten a haircut oh yeah it’s okay this is quite embarrassing I haven’t gotten a haircut since December I want to say damn wow okay that’s why that’s why I

Yeah that is a long time but I will also say for the loyal viewers that love listening to stories about my dad my dad is bald okay he’s not doing well so if if if I there’s also the fear of hey sometimes I cut it off and I go full on

My dad and hey guess what I got to show my face on camera uh so yeah look I can tell you as someone whose hairline is in full Retreat enjoy it while you got it it’s never ending it’s never ending hey if I’m doing if I’m doing what you’re

Doing at 39 given my genetics I I’ve hit a home run just don’t do the Jerry Rice cornrows that start like three quarters of the way back on your head remember old yeah I think I think I think I’ve already like made the executive decision just because I’ve been preparing myself

For baldness since I was like 14 I was like I looked at my dad and I said look I I’ve got no shot here this is what it is so I’ve been preparing myself I’m gonna go all bald my dad my dad Sports and and a lot of Indian dads tend to

Sport the little back where they got the little Crown going around and and look my it looks great on my dad no hate like rocking it I I don’t think I could particularly rock it and I think I would go for the straight full shave maybe try

To get a beard going right grow the beard yeah hope that at that point I could grow a beard like I could compensate somehow and yeah I love how bald people do that they grow the beard as if it’s gonna distract us like we know you’re

Bald does it does it not like when Robert Robert Salah looks big and Gruff with the beard ranall rocks it you got to have the right shaped head if you’re going to be bald not everybody can rock a bald head I Robert Sal rocks it if I

Had no hair I would look like an egg I have an oval head it’s no good I got no shot I’m just going to wear you’re saying your genetics with that beautiful hairline is more about hey we can’t make Rob not have hair so we have to make

Sure he has hair if I yeah if I don’t have hair it would just be I just wear hats all the time I’d go Micha Maly and just wear hats all the time anyway I think we’ve reached the end of the program as we are now discuss hairlines Jerry Rice miac says Jerry

Rice’s cornrow late in his run should have been called the late Harvest oh God Stephen Ducket says as a bald guy you can’t walk around looking like Mr Clean facial hair is in need when bald I feel like I feel like some people do rock it

Though like Mike Simon used to rock it on Iron Chef Tom kikio Top Chef Jud it are you a Top Chef Guy Rob do you not know my Tom kikio story wait Rob this is my favorite second favorite TV show now cuz night cap with uncan oo shout out

But I need to hear this story did you go to craft New York or something what’s what’s the deal here so okay really quick uh my wife and I we started watching Top Chef like Season Two Season three like way back in the day I’m I’m a

One through I’m a one through 21 Watcher Rob I’m a one through 21 okay my favorite alltime Top Chef contestant by the way is um hung the Hung okay he was so fast but he was kind of a jerk on the show Rob on the show like of me like I

Like the season six winner Mike voltagio I thought he was the most like creative and his restaurant was in our hotel in Vegas I wanted to go to it we walked past it every day on the way to radio row anyway my Tom Kio story my wife and

I got into Top Chef and we were like you know let’s go to Tom Kiko’s restaurants so for our and it was either my wife’s birthday or our anniversary we had tickets to a Broadway show in New York and we were going to go eat at Tom

Kico’s restaurant but our our train got delayed to the city and so we were going to miss our reservation and so I tweeted wife’s birthday off to a terrible start train got delayed now we’re going to miss our reservation at Tom Kiko’s Restaurant Tom kikio tweets back at me

What’s your name what’s your reservation so I tweeted back to him and he said I took care of it enjoy your night so we get to the restaurant and they’re like oh come right this way and they but give us like a private table they bring out all this food they

Charged us for nothing happy birthday Mr Kio took care of it wow all just because he happened to see the tweet on Twitter I I just became a bigger fan of top chef and I couldn’t have become a bigger fan I do miss Padma I will say that or as I call

Her PMA but I guess we can call her Padma um I miss her but Kristen Kish is doing a good job you watching season 22 who do you like Rob I’m not watching the current season not goingon to lie but I did like when she was on the show as a

Contestant I did like that I didn’t like the Last Chance Kitchen that was messed up she she she got she shouldn’t have been eliminated Josie should have been eliminated on the episode like but but are you kidding me you know my my whole thing with Top Chef you don’t you only

Have to win one competition in Top Chef the last one and you become all you have Kevin basically wion the season just don’t be the worst and then win the one at the end that’s it I know you know what you know what’s my biggest ick on

Top Chef the cont because it’s so like grueling season by season the contestants that are like e like constantly on the bottom right like Lisa in season 4 was this where she’s just on the bottom on the bottom on the bottom on the bottom on the bottom on the

Bottom and she just keeps being the second worst the second worst the second worst the second worst and then they have the G to be talking about like their aspirations and dreams of like how not not the goal to be talking about their aspirations and dreams they should

Be talking about that but the fact that then they come on like the very next episode and they’re like I can win this thing I’m right here I’m like you’ve been almost eliminated five episodes in in a row and it’s it’s I I hate on it

But it’s almost like a jealousy for me because it’s like I wish I had that subliminal confidence because if I had been on the bottom even two episodes in a row and I was on Top Chef I would be mentally like I would be a complete

Screw loose Head Case all of that so it’s I guess I’m jealous of yeah melanc says you’re like Zach Wilson when you talk about Padme uh yeah I brisby life that’s that’s beyond Zack Wilson for me actually I think baby brisbee life says sounds like Vish and Rob need to do a

Top Chef podcast with this nerd out I oh my god do have you been to any Top Chef Restaurant cuz like I’ve been to multiple cico restaurants I’ve been to Fabio’s restaurant Sierra Cavern in um Sierra Tavern in Chicago me and my sister Joe flann winner of top sh Top

Chef season 15 we were going to go to his restaurant in Chicago it’s recently opened up um I’ve been to Stephanie isard’s restaurant once because that’s also Chicago based my sister um her friend lives in uh Maryland so she was able to visit Vault before it closed

Down and she got me Brian voltaggio’s signature which is I mean I have two signatures on my wall one is I was taking a flight from Orange County to Chicago and Keenan Allen was flying from Orange County to Chicago and going to Orlando for the Pro Bowl and he signed a

Flight card for me and then the other one is Brian voltagio Brian voltagio thinking that Vish Kumar and future Chef in America needs to channel his inner cooking when he signs something for me cuz why would anybody who’s not a chef be nerdy out for Brian voltaggio’s autograph well excellent

I’ve been to two kikio restaurants I went to Hong’s restaurant in New York which was awesome he made this like s’mores Pizza thing that we had for dessert which was like blew my mind and I went to I don’t know if you remember Howie kleinberg of course I remember

Howie from season 3 in Miami he’s a bulldog rest in power Howie uh I went to his restaurant when it was open uh and it was very very good also every time I go to like a Top Chef Restaurant they’re always like incredible oh I I believe it Howie

Versus Joey might be like one of the underrated Great Moments early in the show I will say like my disappointment of the show has been that it’s been more food focused and uh a lot more like just you know the professional the last like six or seven seasons I I part of my

Attraction to the show early on was the reality TV aspect of it because the chefs are so dramatic and so emotional and that passion is so fun to watch so I will say that I I do miss that aspect of it and shout out to Ho because he

Brought a lot of it early you remember when he quoted Anthony Bourdain’s book back to Anthony bouraine and Bourdain had nothing he was like I yeah you’re right yeah yep that was pretty that was part of it though my wife and I used to talk about it how like what you say at

The elimination you might be able to save yourself if you have good answers to what they used to say because for whatever reason the judges liked people who admitted their mistakes more than people who like didn’t admit their mistake and I’m like who cares the food

Is the food they made the same mistake but I I think that that like that tended to lead to people who were consistently in the elimination but always like yeah you’re right I have to do better versus people who would get there on like a one-off episode and they’d be like why

The hell am I here and start arguing and then bang they’d be gone and then next thing you know you have the Lisa situation where she’s almost eliminated nine times and she makes the final wow I did not know you were a top sh I didn’t know that was going to take

A turn see what happens in the off season we end up in weird places I I watch two things on TV Rob I I don’t really do TV shows I don’t have patience for them I don’t have interest in them I watch the office I’ve watched every

Episode of it and I’ve watched episodes of other variety of TV shows sitcoms blah blah blah blah blah but I don’t really get into them I love cooking shows specifically Top Chef season by season every year recorded on my TV watches it watch it as it comes out

Wednesday night it’s my passion and then now now my new like TV show quote unquote is I listen to an and oo on nightcap I love nightcap this is like the sixth time I’m mentioning it but ancan oo truly iconic Duo no hard path tough man well okay the problem

With the iuk interview was just how little they were informed on Brandon iuk which which was yes yes but I also think the good aspects of it is just hey they’re two players that clearly had so much respect from Brandon iuk and that allowed him to

Be a little bit more open in just the way the conversation drifted it was more casual you could feel his comfort level which allowed the answers to just have a you were able to look through the them with a more just transparent lens because it felt like he was comfortable

And honest but the good parts of the show is just the comedy the way their chemistry is off the charts rob you just got to listen to them you got to listen to them talk about life I didn’t know that Lara Pippen and Michael Jordan Jr’s relationship was actually important to

Me until I wanted to hear un and oo react to them breaking up dude I don’t want to hear about life from CAD o josino who had to have Marvin Lewis explain to him on Hard Knocks how Banks worked and how Banks pay you money to

Keep your money in the bank you don’t pay the bank money for interest I’ll never forget that ever in my life that CAD Joo did not know how Bank worked I’ll give my dad a second shout out thank you for teaching me that Shannon sharp like dude no I I don’t the only

Reason I would ever watch that show is because of the guests if they have a 49er guest on I’ll watch it the rest of it although I do have to say the Cat Williams Shannon sharp interview blew my mind like I think all of his Club sh like interviews have been quite like

Excellent because he’s able to the one thing he does is he’s able to have uh organic chemistry with his guests his guests are comfortable with him and I think that that’s like 60% of the battle than just even asking good questions because like if you have a Debo Samuel

Kadam situation where Debo Samuel is covering his face like this to the camera like that’s 10 minutes of hey be nice to kadam she just said the 49ers are going to get back to the Super Bowl that wasn’t a shot at K it’s the I’m sorry I love Debo that’s the

Worst 10 minutes on TV on the week he covers his face and K goes so Debo what’s coming up you know they’re a good team Debo when he doesn’t want to do media he’s one of the wor when he wants to do it he’s fantastic but if he

Doesn’t want to do it there’s nothing you can do oh he is he is very interesting he’s just naturally a shy guy so you can see that he’s clearly doing it for the endorsements and all of that then oh this is an opportunity that Debo wants to take a platform and really

Express himself when Debo needs to express himself he seems to do it through other messages rather than going on K atam show for 10 minutes and saying what he needs to say so he has no issues expressing himself it’s not that’s not the problem it’s just he doesn’t want to

Be there and he makes it fairly evident to you he doesn’t want to be there well how about when Kay like literally asked him oh debar you getting a new number and he was like no no I’m not getting a and then like next week the news broke

That he was getting a new number she was like what the hell and he was like I didn’t want to break it on your show I thought that was so funny he didn’t he didn’t even mince words about it he was like yeah I couldn’t let you break that

Sorry I would be kind of ticked if I was K but whatever anyway all right that’s goingon to do it for this show like And subscribe to the gold standard Network YouTube channel subscribe like And subscribe to Vish Kumar’s YouTube channel just search Vish Kumar it pops

Right up you do it you’ll see Vish on Larry you’ll see Vish everywhere V you’re you’re with all the big 49ers content creators apparently apparently did and you did some uh a little bit of accounting for me on the March Madness you didn’t do the accounting twice I

Feel like but you you got I feel like some some Network statistics got me past Grant somehow but you know Croc good thing nobody can see the vote count with me versus Croc not like last year so you can see the vote count you it was 789 to 502 you fixed it

It’s you it’s on the it’s on the internet for everyone see man why did you fix that it’s been fixed for I think we fix why could you not have that be broken it would have been just been a question mark If people could have been

Like maybe Vish had a chance look maybe there was a mistake you maybe there needs to be a revote you beat Grant which was incredibly impress you whooped kawakami you have nothing to put your head down about in the 49ers media manness tournament Rob don’t tell

Anybody about what you did I didn’t do anything don’t even about don’t tell him about what you did to the no no don’t even do that because people already think I rigged this thing actually no no no no that that was April fools I’m to I’m totally joking I I think I think

People have had enough of my terrible jokes it should be tough yeah we’re in the final four right now it’s Brad Graham against Matt mayoko in one side of the bracket and the other side is Eric Crocker versus Larry Krueger of course ER shout out to all four of them

The defending champ uh he’s seems to be on an Unstoppable path right now which is a path of Destruction seriously uh Mayo’s got some work to do let me tell you he’s getting stomped right now by Brad Graham so we will see how Brad Brad’s Brad is just an underrated

Powerhouse coming for Eric or possibly Krug because Krug has just been the close game winning Master right yeah Krug is uh he’s been finding a way at the very end of the match he’s got a fourth quarter he’s got a quality he beat Matt barrows by four votes 652 to

648 uh you you should have come on and done a full breakdown on how baros went LeBron in the fourth quarter he has I I think I think Rob people have had enough of my terrible jokes all right well go vote goldstandardcams.com

  1. McCloud muffed a return in the Superbowl that turned in to points, thats terrible, as bad as you can do as a returner

  2. Lol at the low standards. Rob and Vish would be happy if the 49ers came out of the 2024 NFL Draft with a starting Tackle, D.T. and #2 Tight End. Truth is, I personally think the San Francisco 49ers is going to come out of the draft with some offensive lineman to compete for starting spots, a safety and Tight End for depth and development, a couple of depth pieces on the defensive line, a running back, maybe a defensive back, maybe another developmental Wide Out, but eventually, I think we will at least come out of the 2024 NFL Draft with a starting Right Tackle for the future, maybe a franchise Center, maybe a franchise guard, and then players who play good enough to stay on the 53 man roster.

And another point, I think the San Francisco 49ers can afford both WR / RB Deebo Samuel Sr. and WR Brandon Aiyuk, because QB Brock Purdy won't make any serious dent into the Salary Cap until it "balloons" to over ~$300m. But because of that, that means we will have to not spend somewhere, and that will likely be at the offensive line for the time being. So drafting them early and often means the team can manage the salary cap better. If they play well enough to keep, the team has the option to extend them down the line, but by then a lot of money will be off the books. Additionally, finding a future replacement for WR would be ideal if we already don't have it on the roster. Always good to draft healthy competition. Because I am seeing all over the media, that this might be WR / RB Deebo Samuel Sr.'s last season with the San Francisco 49ers.

  3. Like Vish, I've been saying the same thing for a few months now, and after FA and us bring back most of the OL. I wouldnt be surprised to see us go DL or DB early. Maybe even a linebacker if they don't like Winters or Graham

  4. Sf not winning rings now looking like KC, but, without mahommes! About to be even more decimated, by top heavy burdens of Autumn and Purdy lol 50-60$ million increase next year, plus all DB are FAs, lol lol this draft is THE OL WR, historic draft, but injuries leave sf, unable to get in on either, you need S, LB due to dre, and huff. You go as is, your really diminished…lol

  5. Ed, cooper first! Benched, when dre, returns. Cole bishop, second. May still play, when Huff, returns. These early pix, should be used on OL, and WR, that's where the value/money is, and its rare, but….sf, lol lol can't get past its injuries…..

  6. Round 3, sf, no option but theo, johnson. He's the tight end sweet spot. Fast, huge, hands, can block. Second too early for TEs, in this draft, after brock. Third is theo, and Wiley. I'd like both but theo works.

  7. So a lucky sf, draft looks like Cooper, Rosengarten, bishop, theo johnson, Henderson, Eliss. First four rounds. I shift to wr, at Flournoy, Gould, Whittington, Means, rd 6-7.
