So recently I’ve been working a bit on my swing and the weather is hopefully going to start turning which means I’ll be able to get out on the golf course and play a little bit and put what I’ve been trying to work on into practice for myself well for every golfer what we’re
Trying to do is get a repeatable ball flight consistent contact and find something that has a decent amount of athletic athleticism as well and if you can put all of those movements together then theoretically you should start to play much better Golf and that’s why you’re probably going on a journey of a
Bit of self-discover and working on different positions because you’re trying to find that more repeatability but I always know that I’m swinging well when I get a particular feeling and I’ve been talking about this feeling recently on the channel for myself and for students that I work with I’m always
Trying to make sure the back swing is really tidy and the good feeling that I’m always trying to get students to have is the Sensation that you’re lifting your left arm or your lead arm up across your chest okay I think that’s a really solid feeling because what
Happens with a lot of golfers is if you’re somebody who tends to move a little bit you’re always going to feel like your left arm is going to struggle to just be like swung up across your chest as I’m demonstrating here and you can use your Trail hand to help lift
Your lead arm up across your chest so you get a nice amount of connection in that back swing position now what happens next is arguably more important if you can position yourself well in the top of the back swing where you feel like you’re lifting your lead arm into a
Good location then the question is what are you going to do to start the down swing and the feeling really is as soon as I start the down swing I’m going to start rot ating moving my body towards the target but the big one is really
Propelling my left arm off my chest and this is why I like the the the swing budy rope trainer swing budy rope trainer is a really good exercise to help these sort of feelings of in the back swing position see the way I get the Rope trainer to hit me on the
Back and then this feeling here because what we’re trying to do when it comes to the golf swing to get this repeatable ball flly is we have to be able to control our swing play and if I was going to swing to you and I’ll
Sort of draw a bit of a Rough Guide in here for my plane line you can see the way that I’m able to get my lead arm working through that line as I demonstrate here and this means that I’ve got good rotation see golfs have a tendency to sort of stand up you’ll
Often feel that you’re sort of shoving the the swing buddy or the or your rope trainer too much to the right or maybe you’ll compensate and pull it in but then you’ll lose that retraction and for myself that’s always the feeling I’m looking for get that lead arm up across the chest
Start the down swing feeling like it’s almost like it’s my body rotation that initiates it and then from there I can just retract that left shoulder back and behind me which propels that left arm through which equally just goes on to propel the club through so how you guys
Can work on this is make sure in this back swing position you’re keeping your head nice and still get the feeling that you are bringing your lead arm up across your chest in the back swing position and then from here as soon as you start the downswing you want to start think
Thinking about your chest and your chest is guiding your left shoulder now however your chest moves and your lower body moves is obviously going to guide where this left arm is being able to be propelled to which is why rope train is a really good one but my feeling is left
Arm up across my chest stays onto my chest and then I really Let It Go as best and fast as I possibly can I’ll see you guys again really soon

How does Left arm across the chest work? it seems to contradict many who suggest maintaining the triangle and would promote a chicken wing right elbow
