Hey guys welcome back to Judo highlights we have a look at deuchi Christ’s performance at the analia Grand Slam now I was kind of surprised to see her at this Grand Slam she competed the week prior at Tuli and usually juder of this level they they kind of space out

Their tournaments don’t compete that often now this is the first contest comes out quick with an ATI two scores in this one to get it done and that also is working well for her and it’s not just the oti lots of Ashi from deuchi very good at these

Techniques here’s the igti here another was pretty easily done in total control the whole time beautiful oti deoi has so you may have noticed but this isn’t the first contest for deoi the first contest just won by shidol was a bit boring so I don’t think I would bore you guys with

That one and this quarterfinal as well against Kim bit of a sh battle no scores here but still just some interesting scenes Digi putting in some some good attacks and you see here nice little kodor Kim goes to the ground obvious drop here so aido against her and deuchi into the

Semi-finals now the semi-finals we saw a bit of naaza from deuchi we don’t really see a lot of Nea from her but before that check out this nice T I didn’t realize deuchi had that one in her Arsenal and I’ve always found it hard a lot of people really good at this doing

TOA with two feet I just always have to have one foot planted on the ground but utilizing two feet I mean much more control that’s for sure now here’s a n a sequence moar kind of going down several times so deuchi looks to take advantage of

That tries to roll her over but moar doeses well to defend look at that spinning out of the roll the transition there but then next sequence the igti from Digi too strong here it is again look at that low driving waits for opponent to grip up

Top and then jumps and Dives for it in the final two against Lima igatti working really well for her it’s kind of those two techniques oti and oti that are just kind of the the pillars to her success no score here but a good attack and then

Attacking in the naaza to now the two of them they get into kind of a weird position here on the ground so you can see Dei got a tied grip around the neck with the L power you can see Lima defending it and now this is

Not but just the way the choke is on the Riff lets it go just to kind of see if it’s tight enough and she’ll tap but Lima does well here you can have a look they’ll change the camera angle in a second but the look on her face you

Can see it’s very very tight and she’s just hanging on she’s not out yet that is not a good looka on her face here and but she does well might and the ref does eventually call Mate but deuchi again not taking her foot off the gas another orti attempt here low no

Score and then in this sequence something a little different trying to turn that allo into an ashuma and Lima looking for the the transition on the ground doesn’t get it so this match actually goes to Golden Score first fuchi on the day and appealing to the Riff here gets the

Shid Sarah but it’s good to see I mean this this contest didn’t go to Shido ended with a score which is good to see I really like it when a final ends with a score little Coy o now and just sticking with it and changing direction have a look at it

Again first she goes to the left and then takes a balance to the right there’s the change in Direction so in my opinion this is a nail in the coffin I’m pretty sure Digi is going to be going to the Olympics just bit more consistent than clim kite but what do

You guys think let me know below I’ll see you in the next one peace

  1. 1:28, there's a randori video of Christa with Uta Abe with Christa launching her with tomoe nage. She has it but rarely needs it.

  2. But Jessica goes for big throws like seioi nage, rather than playing the shido game. She maybe doesn't win as often as Deguchi, but when she does, its often by a big throw. I wish Olympics would allow 2 competitors from each country but maybe that would be unfair to countries without the resources to field 2 judokas. 🤔

  3. In their last 3 fights, Klimkait has beaten Deguchi twice and lost once. It's not quite decided yet.

Plus Deguchi trains more in Japan than in Canada and doesn't really seem that keen to truly embrace a Canadian identity. National representatives should be happy & proud to represent their respective countries, but it's pretty clear where Deguchi's loyalties are.

  4. In the golden score show she said that she needs to be ahead of Klimkait on points after the world championships. That's how I interpreted it

  5. According to Judo Canada it is decided by a point system, with Deguchi getting 2 points for last years World championship and Klimkait getting 1 for 3rd place in 2022. Deguchi is currently ahead on the ranking list and gets 2 for that. And then there will be points available at this years World Championship. So for Klimkait to get the place she will need to place higher at the world championship and overtake in ranking list.
