M So the final skaters in the iand event earlier today won that section of the competition Elia Malin and the final skater in this event the final skater in the world championships 2024 the plan program content says triple axle to start remains to be seen whether he will

Stick with that or make it the quad it’s fascinating because he doesn’t warm up the Quad Axle typically when he competes It he do what Axel oh my gosh wow that was magnificent he made history with it he now makes it consistently achieved nearly 17 points on the tchar already and quadruple Lots and quad Loop it’s a transitional entry to me into that quako that makes it even more astounding so Difficult [Applause] OHP this is off the scale brilliant he has one more quad planned although he put threw some in that were not planned quad toe triple toe [Applause] Combination it’s some passionate expression but one more jump Triple L step triple axle oh my gosh this is incredible [Applause] [Applause] TST TST into the final change foot combination spin [Applause] [Laughter] it’s Rockstar worthy performance this B you has seen rock stars performance people have their phones out to record this moment is this potentially a world record performance Nathan Chan has the world record in the fee skating of [Applause] 224.210 yeah that

Score and there were question marks in the press conference two days ago about how he feeling and acknowledged some niggling injuries perhaps even suggested that he wasn’t sure he would come and yet that performance just off the scale and his component score is so improved I mean he definitely has worked

On the total program the total package and that is his dad anding back-to-back performances from son and father coach com pupil combinations here it is qu Axel and so many have de the value of that only 12 and a half points many people think it’s worth more the quad LS

And that more recently added to his repertoire I believe the quad loop quad Zow qulet Oiler triple Flip Quad toe triple toe the last quad of the program six quads and five of his jumping passes over 15 points each I mean a triple axle after a triple LS at the end of the program that’s just crazy all sorts of Records here the quad Lo Oiler triple flip 23.3 points that

Probably one of the highest ever elements in our sport Roman scov I mean and shout out to his mom Tatiana Malina I mean I presume she’s at home I’d love to have a camera on her to see how she’s reacting to this incredible moment so [Applause] 224.210 world champion knowing that he’s

Not even going to medal now being so respective of that [Applause] Brilliance a new world record for the quad God elot malinin he’s just added 20 points to his personal best so many people thought the quod axle wasn’t worth enough he didn’t need the base value to go up and he is there is your world champion right

There and his dad doesn’t know what to do with himself oh my gosh and people are standing this knowledgeable crowd knows that what they have just witnessed is groundbreaking for the sport of figure skating ellot I think still can’t believe yes that’s my boy I think is way

  1. Are there any other performances from Montreal that you would like to see that we didn't post? Leave a message below and we will get to it in the next few days. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

  2. I am not sure we will ever see technically as masterful as this unless they change the rules and values. Wow. And the artistry was not bad at all though the step sequence seemed to be dead and lifeless and not particularly well done.

  3. I feel so privileged to have been there on Saturday night. I was crying! I only started following figure skating closely a couple of years ago but it's now my fave sport, mostly thanks to Ilia. I know many purists think his artistry is lacking, but he'll improve that over time. The athleticism, excitement and emotion he brings to the sport is creating a whole new generation of fans, myself included. I can't wait to see where he goes from here…

  4. Soviet Union trained his parents, now america gets benefit. Soviets created, america gets fame……… at least he could have conscience to write RUSSIAN in front of american! Good think? even if he got championship by the knowledge and skills which his parents brought from Soviet Russia in america, I still remember far better ones Soviets created years ago!!! Have a conscience, take away those american flags, those rags look miserable

  5. I was there last night. People were up on their feet even before he finished. We all knew this was exceptional skating !

  6. I don’t know the first thing about skating but the amount of passion this young man has made me tear up!👏👏fantastic!!
