Over the past few years we have pulled thousands of disc offers to try and find out what the best discs are for beginners today we’re combining all of those lists we’re going to go to a local store and we are going to build the perfect beginner bag we’re going to go

Through Putters mid-ranges Fairway drivers even distance drivers which I know aren’t for very new beginners we’re even going to buy a bag this video is really for if you know that you’re ready to take the next step and build your first bag uh you play disc off maybe

Once or twice and you’re getting addicted very quickly this video is for you it’s going to be a great time first we got to go to a local store so come with Me all right we are at another round in charot a really cool local store we of course encourage you to go out support your local store when you’re picking up these discs start off with putting Putters we have some pretty pretty popular discs here I don’t think we’re

Going to have a hard time finding the ones in this list the issue is going to be picking so that’s going to be fun for the putting Putters the top voted putting Putters for beginners is the Banger GT the wizard The Judge AVR and pure if we don’t see all of those I’d

Honestly be surprised Banger GT right there I’m not going to get this one it is a great disc for beginners but it’s a little weird and so if you’re someone who like you want your first putting putter to not be weird you want it to be relatively normal I’m not going to

Recommend that we got a judge over here we got some avrs I like the judge we also have the pure here I think we might go with the pure and here’s why it’s $2 cheaper it’s $2 cheaper but also uh when you’re starting out you might want to

Pick up a putter that you would also really like to throw I personally like throwing these more than any other like putting Putter and a lot of people throw the pure comes in a ton of different Plastics the judge does too uh but this one’s a little faster I feel like it’s a

Little glider so we’re going to go with the pure because versatility and it’s $2 cheaper all right we are moving on to mid-ranges the top voted mid-ranges for beginners we have the shark from Inova latitude 64 fuse discmania origin and the Innova makeo 3 these are all awesome

Choices for the most part they’re very straight flying to maybe understable I think the origin is going to be the most not understable I should say so let’s see what we got I’m sure they’ll have all of those we have a fuse here got the

Make 3 feel like those are going to be pretty similar this one’s rim is so dramatically different it’s actually crazy feeded not feed love the feel of the MEO 3 this is probably my favorite mid-range to recommend to beginners honestly these two but let’s see if we can find the

Other one the origin there’s only one origin left the origin is so good little bit less understable than the others on the list so it depends on what you want you want a straight flyer that maybe will stay in your bag for longer I would go with that I think the final decision

Is going to be for the make3 it’s just super highly accessible your local store is probably going to have one it’s also pretty in the middle 5500 as opposed to the fuse is a little bit more understable the origin is a little bit more overstable so we’re going to go

With the make3 nice straight flyer there’s also Factory second ones for $13.99 different plastic I think we’re going to go with that one for now but we’ll see I like Champion plastic a little better we’re moving on to Fairway drivers this is where the fun begins we

Have the passion the essence the diamond the river and the it this is going to be a tough choice let’s see if we can find some I already see an it right here and this is a really freaking cool stamp on the it that is beautiful while choosing

Discs I do encourage you to buy discs that you like the look of because you’re going to be way more encouraged to go out and throw them and throw them well so you don’t lose them there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a disc because you think it looks cool it

Is on the chopping block let’s see what else we got we got the river this is possibly the greatest Fairway driver of all time depending on who you ask the seven got a seven glide on here and that is real it stays in the air forever there’s

A downside to that when it’s really windy this disc is super susceptible to getting just absolutely bullied by the wind but as a beginner if you’re throwing your first Fairway driver ever I would want it to be that one we have an Essence here this one’s a little tick

Up in speed also has incredible Glide a little bit more understable depending on the run you get and I got to say it’s one of our favorite here at Swanky disc off so this is also this is going to be high up on the list as a maybe purchase I will say

I think the river would make a better first Fairway driver this would make a fantastic second one but it depends on your level if you went out and you threw a few times and you’re like I kind of got the hang of this I would pick up the essence what is

This this is a passion this is freaking sick and this is also on the list I love the passion I will say very similar to The Essence maybe slightly less understable very similar to The Essence though but this is really stinking cool disc dude this is not in my budget as a

Beginner disc golfer but uh that I if I had to pick one that I like the about this like this blank one you could get it dyed and still have the stamp on it that’s that might be a I might buy that I mean it’s not that much more expensive

The passion is about $2 more dollars than everything else and we saved $2 on the putter we did save so I think for the $2 we saved on the Putter and assuming we want to grow with the disc a little bit I’m going to go with the Discraft passion because this is just

Really cool and we might get it dyed later that’s another fun thing so this is going to be a controversial subject here we’re moving on to distance drivers if you’re just starting off in dis golf of course I would encourage you to not throw distance drivers until you’re

Ready for some people it can really ruin the experience but like I said we’re sort of building a bag right now so this video is for somebody who kind of knows they want to continue in dis golf They want to get into it more and potentially

You want a distance driver that you can go out and practice throw and it’s I think that’s not a bad thing obviously you need to work on your form start throwing Putters mid-ranges then pick up a fairway driver and once you can get that thing then pick up a distance

Driver but if you want to experiment you want to try it out see how they feel these are going to be the best ones to do that with or if you’re just more of an experienced beginner like you’ve been in the game for 6 months to a year now

You still kind of feel like a beginner but you can throw a distance driver this is the list for you we have the Discraft Thrasher the MVP wave the Mamba from Innova Sapphire from latitude 64 and the Aventure SS from Discraft that is such a fantastic list let’s see what we got

Here at this store fortunately people this this store has a really really good selection but you should be able to find the Inova and disc craft discs on this list very easy at any store this this store has pretty much everything definitely check out another round if

You’re near one here’s the wave 115 -22 I personally don’t love the wave some people do um gyro drivers H the rim is just a very weird thing so again as a beginner if you’re trying to figure out what a normal disc feels like this is

Not it um but it if you like it you like it and you probably love it it’s it’s a acquired taste for some people but some people just pick it up and they’re absolutely like yes gyro makes so so much sense love how the seam fits in my

Hand I don’t love how the seam fits in my hand so I’m not going to pick that up the star Mamba is a incredible choice you see that negative five on there that negative five is probably a massive exaggeration it’s going to be the most understable option on the list and so

Depending on the beginner that’s going to be great some people not so great Some people prefer throwing forehand this is going to be difficult to get used to but great to practice with so potentially the Mamba it’s also going to be cheaper it’s going to be way more

Widely available Mamba is on the list we got the Discraft Thrasher over here this is also a great option going to be a little bit more stable maybe not more than the wave definitely more than the Mamba but it’s got that neg3 turn on it a little more versatile and something I

Think that will stick in your bag longer so again if this is a list where potentially building a bag for somebody who’s going to they already know they like dis Golf and they’re going to stick with dis golf for a while The Thrasher is definitely an option I do not see a

Sapphire anywhere from latitude 64 but we have actually reviewed that disc and it was kind of Hit or Miss we had one that was low-key very overstable so we’re going to move on from that and go to the Avenger SS this I think is going to end up being my recommendation

Especially for a first distance driver it is very very very understable 10 speed so it’s like first entry speed into distance drivers and so i’ would say once you learn how to throw this then you can move on to 11 and 12 speeds but I think the Avengers SS is going to

Be the recommendation here it’s also in a ton of starter packs it’s been many many players first distance driver and I think for a very good reason I think you’ll start getting more distance out of this earlier on than pretty much any other distance driver what we’re going

To do now uh something that’s really great about local stores we’re going to take the discs that we picked and we’re going to move over to the used section and see if we can find anything used to knock down the price a little bit so for

This video we’re going to buy the new discs because they’re more readily available and they’re the exact discs that we are looking for but just to show you how easy it is to find some used alternatives for the distance driver we found a mom that ne51 that is absolutely insane used

For $7 it’s really ugly but you know ugly discs need love too we found a diamond that could easily replace the passion it’s a lot more understable but if you need an understable Fairway driver your first Fairway driver the diamond is actually an incredible choice would highly highly recommend it $10 we

Found this old Innova made MD which is essentially the same disc as a make3 it might literally be the same disc as a make 3 also $10 and a glow AVR the avrs on the list glow avrs are actual money literal money uh $9 so everything for

Less than half the price could easily be found in the U section we’re going to go with the new discs for now for sake of availability um but definitely before you buy your discs go check out the used section so if you decide to get all of

Your discs new this was about $74 in discs but these are all very high quality Plastics that should last you a fairly long time and they’re the type of discs we decided to go with that will also stay in your bag for a little while

And grow with you as a beginner into an amateur now we realized upon entry that uh another round primarily only carries Squatch bags which are incredible bags that we highly recommend and you can use code Swanky on squat. comom and get $20 off your purchase but for beginners we

Typically recommend bags that are little smaller cost less than $100 we actually do have a list of the top five disc golf bags under $100 so I’m just going to remind you of those really quick we have the Voyager light from MVP axium latitude 64 Swift bag that one is dirt

Cheap The Prodigy bp2 the atlas Pioneer Which is less than $100 great bag a lot of storage there and then the Dynamic Discs paratrooper was our number one bag these are also super cheap bags that come in a ton of different colorways and options that’s why we love that bag so

Much you can really put your character on it for pretty cheap and it’s the perfect size bag for like if you picked up five discs and you plan on slowly building your bag paratrooper is the way to go thank you guys said all right in the middle of me I’m talking thank

You thank you guys so much for watching this is what we would call the perfect beginner bag let us know what you guys think in the comments below what did we miss we will see you guys in the next one stay swanky

  1. Was it a coincidence that you were blocking the Bergs in the the video shot? I think not 😄. As a newer guy, the Mako3 has easily been my best purchase as I can easily diagnose form as anything other than straight means something was off; same vein with practicing hyzers/anhyzers

  2. My whole bag was in that video. Still just a beginner Pure, Fuse, River and Essence. Just starting to incorporate some slightly overstable to compliment my bag. Enjoyed the video.

  3. I think you need to talk about disc weight too! My noob noodle arm can't get anything above 165g disc to do anything I want it to do.

  4. Overall I would reccomend going into the store. I am picky when it comes to, feel, Fan grips never come out clean for me so I dont throw them… my buddy fan grips Colossus and Destroyer.

The main discs that I used to learn the game were a Gstar Sidewinder for turnover and distance, Z Buzzz for forehand, and I never figured out putting until I found a proxy, aviars were too floaty.

Worst begineer discs I had were a Champion Thunderbird and Esp Zeus. 2 years in and those are still too much for me.

  5. PA-3, buzzz, crave, mamba would be my picks. Uplink is a strong mid too for beginners. I have given a lot away to beginners and they have had a lot of success with them.

  6. What I've seen/tried the Origin has been more understable than a Fuse, however they are very compareable and I feel like whichever fits your hand better is a solid choice.

  7. I have discs from every list you were going off of, and my bag is just a more filled out version of what you bought here!
Aviar (lost my judge), hope, dagger, pure, swan reborn, harp, bounty, fuse, mako3, eMac truth, river, maul, Teebird, dragon (for water), saint, firebird, jade, sapphire, mamba.
Used to have diamond but recently stopped bagging it.

  8. If you want to get good, play with players who can throw destroyer and not that flippy shiz. Starting with flippy disc make you a make you bad player and you will never compete with people that throw real disc

  9. 4:09…. I own some cool looking discs, but most of mine are pink and baby blue. Teased when I'm in the rough. Is he on an Easter egg hunt??? The colors aren't natural but I find my discs. PINK is every REAL man's fav color if u get my meaning!

  10. my first fairway driver is technically a leopard and i throw it on just a little hyzer and it soars forever it feels. I also picked up the trooper bag and love it alot.
