Hold My Bag is a show about pros playing disc golf, hosted by Rich Slaton and Bob Sherriff who are very not pro at disc golf.

Each week, Bob and Rich go head to head with fantasy picks for the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Each must pick one player from the top 10, another ranked 11th to 20th, a third ranked from 21st to 35th, a fourth ranked between 36th and 50th and one player ranked outside of the top 50!

Give you a better chance at not having to caddy for me yeah I mean it lessens uh I don’t know I go as far to say is like this is a lesson I will keep in my head forever but I mean you just had one of the strongest cards I’ve ever seen I

Mean number one and number two antoa Klein uh as two of your picks that’s kind of amazing you know um you know went with Calvin lanquist as my 50 plus went more poorly than I would have hoped for a 50 plus pick I still a big fan of

The kid um he must have just had an off round but even if I’d had a solid pick there I think you would have I this was one of the biggest blowouts if not the biggest blowouts I’ve ever seen uh it was yeah well done thank you

It was uh it was pretty devastating and of course you can devastate your friends by playing along here’s the rules that Bob and I play by yours are a little bit different but the rules of the duel for those of you who are new here we have a

Draft using the stat Mando world rankings you play by these same rules everyone gets five picks one from each of the following tiers one player ranked top 10 one ranked 11th through 20th someone from 21 through 35th somebody else from the 35 through 50 range and then someone ranked higher than rank 50

That bottom rule no sharing is just for me and Bob you can pick whoever the heck you want when you play along with us and the leader of an event sets the par and you get one point for each stroke behind lowest total score wins our tiebreaker

Is the highest finishing player you have some more tiebreakers when you play online so you take a look at how this applies back to those scores one more time Nicholas anela he won so he set the par he got zero points and Kyle kle was one stroke behind he got one point you

Obviously Waco’s a big one we all get really excited about that Austin open is a huge one for us because it’s part of the Texas tour we get to go see it which was an amazing event last time I don’t know what are your thoughts on what you

What are your thoughts on Texas State it’s it’s I think the weirdest thing is how many players skip it just because of the twoe gap before it right they put a gap there to to make room for US Women’s Disc Golf Championship which was at sprinkle Valley which was super fun to

Watch but a lot of players you know and when we get into the picks I think we’ll talk about this in the 11 to 20 range that tier that tier 2 pick that that’s a half field because of how many players are skipping this event getting some

Extra rest going and spending some time with family whatever it might be and I think that really hurt this event this year there’s a lot of there’s a lot of names missing not just in that tier but also kind of when you get into the

Players who are in that 50 plus range a lot of guys sitting out so there’s a bunch of new faces there which is good for them but I think that that that Gap especially for an event that was so close just down the road I don’t know if

It really made sense or served this particular event very well yeah no it’s so interesting especially the 11 to 20 ranked category I mean literally decimated in half no Paul McBeth no James Proctor no Chris Dickerson um no Joel Freeman yeah it should be an interesting field and again we have most

That one going down I’m surprised he went with gon on this I mean Calvin showed up last week Calvin was one putt away from going into playoffs still has I’m I’m just not ready to to say that his elbow he still seem like he had some elbow issues last last week he

It’s hard for me to to not picked Calvin in this situation but that elbow injury is just it’s too concerning for me right now for me to go ahead and make that my top 10 pick when you know he could reagg gravate it and dnf possibly maybe he

Just there’s a couple of throws that he won’t feel comfortable with because of the elbow problem so yeah no I think uh I’m picking I’m taking your boy because again same as AB he has a win and two fourth places he thrives on big golf courses he might have underperformed

Year so far uh he did very well in this event last year just kind of feel like a no-brainer to me especially with how few options there were yeah I mean that was the hardest part right is some of you guys um missing this event for whatever

Reason for rest for time off with family for not wanting to go to Houston cuz it’s Houston right like there’s a whole whole bunch of reasons why maybe they didn’t want to go there so uh yeah I don’t know this is a tough one this this was a tough category but I’m surprised

That we didn’t end up kind of I I I thought about Goose for a little bit I just I don’t know I I don’t know where he is right now in terms of uh his his skill set whereas hamus has been really reliable so far this season so that was

My pick um I think we’re about to make the same pick again here though in the 21 through 35 category if our tier three pick I’m fairly go we haven’t been right so far so I don’t know uh you ready well we yeah right let’s go 21 through 35 our tier

Three pick three two one go oh Alden beautiful hair oh I like the I like the word play there Alden beautiful Harris talk to me about Alden Harris in this one I know that uh he’s someone that you’ve been hot on for a while yeah um he’s not quite as young as

I usually like him but he’s in his mid like early 20s um you know this is this is what he always seems to me like to your the way that you like to describe it an undervalued player like I feel like Alden Harris as a role is probably

One of the most consistently top 20 finishers in the Pro Tour um and at any given tournament like he could very well be a lead card if not a winner so I don’t know I’m uh and again having met him at uh in uh the national amateur

Thing last year and he was just the nicest guy it’s it’s easy for me to root him on I just you know I I I I like that you pick with your heart mine was a total head pick right Joseph Anderson uh he’s he’s surging right now a lot of

People picking him as the breakout player of the year before this tournament before the season even started uh and I look at him go I I kind of think how how is he not the top pick here right he’s averaging 16th Place over the three events he’s played so far

Here not to mention he’s from Athens Georgia so easy trip home and back for him to relax before this event right I don’t know if he chose to go home and come back but if he did it wasn’t uh you know there’s not not a lot of jet lag

Happening between Athens Georgia and Houston so I I like him here and as long as he continues to uh perform make make these kind of top 20 average I think that the value here is gray on what might be a rookie of the year candidate

Or at least breakout star of the year if you don’t want to call him a rookie yeah no I mean he’s um it’s been amazing watching him so far let’s we’ll see how this goes all right you ready for the next one yeah let’s get let’s get into the nasty stuff here

I have I looked at him really heavily as hey this is Big Arm golf which is great for Garrett girthy but I’m wondering if father time is catching up to his arm that or maybe the the the stresses and focus of having to grow a uh a a beef
