And then we’re just going to hit pit shots like that perfect good hi my name is Jenny I am a recent golfer um I’ve just started taking lessons today I really want to learn how to get the ball up in the air and for it

To go straight and um I just want to kind of become more of a consistent golfer so hi Jenny hi I’m Angel and uh I’m going to help you today with what you’re trying to achieve so let’s break down your swing here so you haven’t been

Playing for a long have you not at all all right so kind of like anybody that plays golf they want to be consistent in ball striking so our goal today is to go ahead and let’s break down your swing a little bit here so as we start here we

Can see that you’re kind of sitting a little bit on the back heels here you notice how the weight’s kind of behind the ankles going to change your posture a little bit so your weight sits on top of your ankles cuz that causes you to

Sway off the ball a little bit here you see that you’re moving your pelvis or your hips to the right a little bit too much on the back swing which now it’s swaying back and then you’re throwing the arms into it where the arms don’t straighten through impact you see that they’re kind

Of bent mhm so I want to break it into a couple pieces because the gos swing can become very complicated too if if I tell you a bunch of things so our goal here today is to make sure that we understand what impact feels like and how to

Achieve the pelvis from not swaying so much because that really gives us a challenge on where her low point is going to be now let me ask you this do you understand what low point is in the golf swing no no that’s okay I think it’s really critical to understand what

Low point is so we can move forward from there obviously when you set in a dress here at the golf ball your Center Mass is the the sternum bone so that’s where your low point is at mhm okay now as in the golf swing that we saw as your

Pelvis moves this way now your low Point moves back here M meaning where the bottom of the Swing is MH so as you’re coming back into it you’re swaying and that’s why you’re having a hard time with the arms trying to stay straight As We like to see at the studio at impact

Good shaffle so what we’re going to start out with today is how are we going to not have that pelvis sway so much so on your setup we noticed that you do set your MK behind your ankles mean you sit back down on it what I want you to do

Now when you get into this you’re going to feel like your weight is going to be on top of the ankles not so far back MH and then from there once you get in that mass over the ankles we’re going to hit little pit shots to start out with we’re

Going to bring your ankles inward so it’s going to bring the weight to the inside of your feet that doesn’t allow your pelvis to sway as much okay so we’re going to set up in this and then then we’re going to get your left arm straight and then we’re just going to

Hit pitch shots like that so you can feel that low point being a little bit more just in front of the ball okay so let’s go ahead and set up here good like I said we want to make sure that we feel our Mass off the hipbone over the ankles

There you go not on the toes more in here there you go good now let’s just bring a little bit of our ankles in so the weight’s going to be inside our feet here no we don’t need to narrow our stance we’re just bringing the pressure inside the feet does that

Make sense MH okay good and then we’re going to create a little bit of shaft Lan and we’re going to bring it back head’s going to stay centered okay M and then you’re just going to hit a little bit of punch shot where these arms just stay straight so let’s see

It okay that’s okay let’s do that again here let’s make sure we get here and then boom really extend the hands through impact perfect good that’s exactly what we want to see good job so much better on the setup here we’re looking like we have a little bit more forward on the

Weight Mass here we’re not sitting so far back let’s watch how this pelvis moves here good it’s not swaying as much it’s turning see how it comes outside that line a little bit though so on the next few swings let’s try to keep it inside those

Lines but that’s really good now look at your left arm there nice that’s exactly what we want to see at impact this is perfect we’re seeing that nice long left arm straight out right arm extension that’s beautiful so I think for a lot of golfers out

There who are kind of in a Jenny situation here who are starting out we got to start out with a little bit of a short swing and understand how that club makes interaction with the turf okay we got to short swings and make sure that

We don’t sway off the ball we don’t work on the long swing yet we’re not there we got to understand what it feels like to make good cont and then from there we can build off into the golf swing so let’s go ahead and do that again good set up let’s get

Our weights right on top of our ankles little bit of a shling so when I say shling you want to feel like when you look down your hands are covering the ankles here so when you look down you can’t see your kneecaps s not ankles so perfect now left arm’s going to be

Straight when we take it back okay perfect good little bit of width there you go good and then you’re just going to hit down and through and hold that angle okay nice we’re creating good width now the contact wasn’t the best right M so let’s let’s dial down the speed a little

Bit meaning the the speed that we’re accelerating through the ball let’s just come at a little bit better Pace a little softer softer okay yep cuz our goal here is to make good contact and still make we still want the club to make interaction with the ground just past the ball

So let’s move your ball position let’s move that way a little bit more too there you go good there you go good very nice so again we’re working on now the club is coming down there you go great extension I love it great job now as we

Continue with the lessons here then we start talking progressing to Club face okay now that club face is rotating a little bit too much that’s why that ball is going a little actually was pretty good but it will turn over a little bit sometimes where the ball doesn’t feel

Good your homework cuz I think now your goal here is to really improve your ball striking let’s give you some homework your homework is going to start out with a pitching wedge or a nine iron okay for about 30 to 40 balls I want you to set

Up like we talked about where you get good shoulder width apart knees in it’s going to put the pressure in the inside of your feet you’re going to create shaft Ling so that hands are covering the left kneecap when you look down and then just making sure that left arm is

Straight and then Mirror Image straight okay which you should be able to see that the face is not closed and that’s really what controls where the ball’s going to go the face Direction the face angle okay all right any other questions no I think that’s it all right great Job
