Welcome back to PJ show 2024 we are here with Ralph rer from ens sha and UT Yamoto from Olympic uh which the materials used uh used by Oben in some of your shafts we’re going to do a little bit of a chat about airburst I believe yes so the airburst shaft we we

Have our third model within our line which is airburst AK M um really unique shaft in that it has a a kevlar in the butt section to hold hoop strength throughout and um 1100g throughout the shaft to really Pro to to uh to over engineer a shaft if you will it’s

Phenomenal we’ve been hoop strength is the resistance to ovaling correct correct and and by resisting deformation you you have a more consistent stru structure throughout the swing and really tighten up dispersion while enhancing ball speed it’s a it’s a great comparative we’ve been working with UDA with uh Olympic on taking this

Technology to iron shafts um probably again over engineering from an iron shaft standpoint but the cool thing about it is some of the torque uh qualities we put in the design and I’ll let youa talk a little bit about that yeah uh we set the talk each different

Number from the long iron to short iron which means uh all the number of iron shaft are different design it’s yeah we spend a lot of time and cost on that yeah it’s totally different from the others so yeah so each each different shaft through a set of IRS is engineered

Specifically designed specifically rather than a a kind of base design that’s sort of augmented through the set it’s a an individual design per on sh right right which make the players to feel the same through long iron to short are yeah yeah which actually for me is something that that has happened with

The steel shafts as well I think the consistency of your steel shafts the short on through the long AR as well flightwise and spin so that that’s something that just from you play plays your steel shafts as well exactly that’s what I’ve seen through those too thank

You and it and it demonstrates the quality involved so you you take a torque number of a 3.0 in a 70 in the 75 G version a 3.0 in the in the three iron down to a 2.1 in the wedge just it and and it just matches up what you’re

Trying to do with with your game and the irons throughout if you want to build we’ve always felt we’re going to design shafts without regard to cost if you want to build the ultimate so you’ve got the ultimate and and and drivers throughout our line through through Fairways through hybrids steel

Throughout irons and this graphite is is probably the going to surpass anything in the market with with the materials and the and the technology it’s it’s this is fun and I assume that the torque development through the set in the shorter ones is to is to promote a

Little bit more um little more flight control and reduce the flight down a little more torque prod a little bit more kick a little more Spin and flight in the long runs for that purpose you talk in pictures I love when you talk in pictures like that but yeah that that

That’s exactly it you you nailed it so it it gives us another opportunity we’re doing the final tweaks on design and but but that’s the cool thing about this show we’re standing in front of one of our friends who has the uh the the old It’s The Old Glory the Old Glory 1350

That does custom Uh Wood flags that are spectacular we’re looking getting one one done for the studio yeah we going to look at a project with with Josh yeah and and we and we thought this would be a great way to show us because I mean

This is the coolest thing one of the coolest things at the show we believe this is as well and the thing part of the show is not just to demonstrate new products it’s to work with our engineering and Manufacturing Partners to come up with what’s next and that’s

Just it’s a celebration you youo came in for Japan from this and we appreciate you know his dedication to to the sport and and uh yeah we just love this and how how I’m not going to say easy how difficult is it to take for example so

Something youve used the material in the wood shaft the application into the IR shaft it’s it’s I totally different yeah it’s totally different because we use up uh right material for the driver and then we use the right material to the iron we have we have to have a knowledge

Of it yeah cuz um we are originally a fishing World company in Japan and then we have knowledge to uh use appropriate material uh by length and lengths yeah yeah right the fishing Road has many length of the fishing rod right so we we use it for

That sha too yeah and it’s not as simple as the material works in the wood it’s going to work in totally different application and and and to design a a constant weight taper tip graphite shaft that’s ultra thin ply material kevlar in the BET section and then match it up

You’ve got eight irons there where instead of one d one one shaft take it across it’s an engineering Marvel and that that taper tip that that that development in Mass through I I think is such an important thing for you know a you top grade Sha but it gives the

Player that progression in um especially kind of the better the stronger player in particular um that development in weight keeps the control in the shter runs so that’s something that you we’re always looking for in Iron shaft is to have that progression we know it’s a pain in the rear end from a

Manufacturing point of view but actually it it it creates a for me a better product through the set of arms yeah and and it’s and it’s cool we we plan to launch this later in the year but we wanted to share it with you so you heard

It here first so thank you and I hope I I hope we’re going to get a similar look cuz that’s that’s a we we’ve got another one they they’re phenomenal not only on their structure but if you’ve got something so good in the structure you

You’ve got to be able to show it off and and they do just a beautiful job of it so yeah looking forward to it so well UT thank you for your time thank you for the explanation and uh yeah can’t can’t wait to see those soon yeah perfect

Simon thank you thank you for having me
