How to Practice LIKELY SHORT GAME Shots – Vintage COBRA Wedges – Golf Test Dummy

What’s the best way for us to drop strokes from our golf game? Get better at saving par. What’s the best way to improve our short game? Practice sticking it close from our MOST LIKELY SCENARIOS around the greens.

With so many of us being quarantined to our homes and yards at the moment, there’s no better time to work on shots inside of 30 yards. You can work on pitching at home, but chipping and seeing roll out will be difficult for most of us. Unless of course, you have a putting green at home….

Practicing my short game with no context, or practicing shots I rarely have facing me on course does me no good at all. We need to practice the shots we are left with most often.

For me, that involves shots that require half fly and half roll, and shots that land quickly and roll out a longer distance. I rarely take the risk of hitting a high lofted shot, and I try to miss on the side of the green that offers me more options and less danger.

With virus protocols and quarantines in place right now, we all need something we can work on to take our minds to a place of some normalcy. I will be practicing in my backyard for a while, trying to dial in short pitches to a bucket. Stay safe, and look out for each other.
