And hello late time poers around the world I’ve remembered to meet myself this week um it was my best minute of broadcasting last week ever and it just went unrecorded it was very frustrating anyway James back Dave back and we are back for the Sony Open this week DT how

Are you I’m good thank you how are you and hello to Steven Ford as well he’s in very quickly saying hello hello Stephen and thank you everybody for joining us last week we got very good numbers last week hopefully we can continue that as we go through 2024 and last week in the

Century um we had a place as well sjay Yim got as a place we’re off to a a winning start in 2024 yeah he did well um he started off fast didn’t he if you backed him for first round leader he was second excuse

Me after 18 holes had a bit of a dip but then he came storming back on the final day so yeah you got fifth place I do like this backdrop that we’ve got now this this video as we fly across this golf course I find it very

Soothing I don’t know but when we’re when you’re talking I I color Do’s off I mean I used to do that in 2023 for a different reason but that’s very kind of like um reassuring isn’t it the uh I’m trying to look where if anyone knows

Where this is let us know identify it and we’ll see if we can uh um get further information anyway it’s Sony Open this week I’ll run you through the the top end of the prices in fact they come across the bottom of the screen there ly gber 18 to1 Terell hton he’s

20s so is Matt Fitzpatrick and Brian Harmon and Russell Henley he in there at 22 you got Cory Connor 25s Chris Kirk 28 and the rest are bigger and continue to scroll across the bottom but DT the mo of our pod is that we come as late as

Possible on a Wednesday to allow your gargantuan golfing brain to get its uh um mind around excuse me voice is going your you’re mind around all the latest news info from the course the press conferences Etc has that led us anywhere for the Sony Open this week yeah so as

You say the whole point of this is uh discovering something a little fact or an interview or something about a player that you kind of dismissed or not really delved into um so the one I’d rather overlooked I don’t quite know why i’ overlooked um is the defending Champion

Sewo Kim okay um he um was 25th last week uh which was a decent knock really just to to get some rust off um but of the two Hawaii events this is very much the one uh that he more suited to Wy Country Club I would say that in

Jord I’m sure it wasn’t a Jord a Newcastle fellow who built it unless it was one of them fellows who the sundland uh corporate thing um for a laugh but yeah who knows um who designed this course and it technically it’s down as Seth Raina but maybe had a a mate from

Gates head or Newcastle um but yeah see W Kim does like this course it’s very different to last week so last week it was wide open very undulating huge greens this is very flat it’s quite narrow uh a bit of trees line without being sort of suffocatingly so

And the greens are small the the Bermuda greens again and the slow greens which was common to last week and you do get a lot of results that do actually you know people cross you know people can cross form on on both events they can play one and

Play well in one and play one in play well in the other and you think well they totally different courses so maybe it’s just the time of year some players are good in January so I’m going to pick a player who is very good in January in

SEIU Kim so if you look over the last couple of Seasons he’s won two events in January so he won this one last year and then in 2021 he won the American Express that’s in California that again has Bermuda greens uh so he’s a he’s a player who it’s quite an interesting one

Because he when he burst on the scene you wondered how good he could be because he he won the Windom quite early in his career then he won The Players Championship soort of before he should be doing that sort of thing so he talked about this in his press conference he

Said he got a bit cocky when he won sort of twice and won a real biggie early on and then suddenly when he couldn’t win for the next few seasons it kind of made him think oh right this isn’t quite the cake walk that I thought it was so it’s

Just made him I don’t know maybe just focus a little bit more and there’s been some other things as well he should have he’s South Korean so obviously we we discussed on this before that South Koreans have to do two years military service or mandatory but he he got out

Of it because one of the rules is if you win a gold medal um he winers at the Asian Games you kind of exempt from it they actually asked him that in his press conference thought it was quite an interesting uh thing he a guy said were

You worried about maybe having to take time off for mil military and he said I can’t say anything about that sorry so it’s like uh yeah don’t you don’t go there he’s not going to come out and say yeah I’m a relieved have to do that

So oh DT’s disappeared on me um yeah you get your you get your gold medal and sign an NDA to say that you can’t come back DT are you there well this is good isn’t it seeu Kim anyway is 35 to one five places um I

About to ask DT in fact I’m going to take him out I’m going to remove him and make him come back in again and we’ll see if he reapplies to the the stage to come back in otherwise he’s going to leave me all on my own so I’m going to

Kick him out hopefully he rejoins us see Kim 35 to1 five places I was going to ask DT if he was going to take 33 to one um eight places which one you prefer to do and but obviously DT has left us for the time being so stay with me um you

Are watching a uh recording of the lake Tea Time Podcast we’ve actually put out a message um just before Christmas because we’re looking for sponsors for the late tea time pod and we’ve got a bit of uh kind of I guess it’s a deal I don’t know how you’d phrase it really

Hate asking for money um but it’s A1 p a month um to sponsor us or if you go for the whole year you can take us in there at uh um ,000 for the entire year and the beauty of that is if we get one that’s great if we get to then you

Basically sponsor it together and we get a little bit more but to kind of keep the late T Time Podcast going then um that’s what we’re basically looking for DT is probably still talking and hasn’t realized that he has dropped off going to text him to say please rejoin me

Otherwise you’re just going to have uh me rattling on for ages um but he’s looks like his webcam just disappeared anyway suu Kim his pick this week 35 to one five places 33 to8 places what I’d also like to know um we do uh for those

Of you that don’t tend to um tune in or didn’t tend to tune in before recently and we do a podcast a week for the US PJ tour the European tour um and then when it comes to the Mages we do uh daily um pods as well um so if

Um we’re going to keep that going but if in the the weeks where there isn’t so much go for certainly towards Christmas would you like to get golf content some chat around the uh the golf as well or we just missed the weeks like we did do

In December um I’d like to know your thoughts on that too so let us know on the at late time pod um that’s the uh the Twitter address there follow us on there at late te time pod for all the latest news and when we’re going to do

The pods and what have you will appear on there and DT’s computer has died apparently he’s messaged me so we got one pick this week for the Sony Open I don’t know if he had any more but we have one pick suu Kim flying the flag

For us it’s either 35 to1 five places or 33 to18 places so there we go that is the late ton pod this week slightly ciled I’m afraid because DT with his computer problems there has fallen away and just left me to flounder on my own

But thank you ever so much uh loads of people tuning in last week thank you very much for your eyes and your ears and your comments as we go through 2024 and we will be back or hopefully both of us with working computers um next week

For more late tea time pods so uh good luck to see you Kim and we’ll see you next time cheers everybody always gamble responsibly visit begambleaware.org for more Information
