(Poor Audio) The LCCC men’s basketball team fell to AF Prep on Tuesday night 76-71 but coming out of break against a difficult team, Head Coach DeWayne Saulsberry was happy with how the team performed, especially going in shorthanded.

The Golden Eagles got great nights from Justin Daniels and Abdullah Mahamed and a strong night from Phoenix Bullock as well, and we talk with the coach about their success and what it means.

Final postgame words final postgame thoughts coming from head coach Dwayne Solsbury in this one and Coach obviously a little bit of a tougher kind of go in this one than you were hoping for with Air Force prep but the guys played hard it seemed like

It was a good battle I thought I’m I’m extremely proud of the guys that we had out there they they they played they played hard they they fought you know uh um you really can’t I really can’t ask for much more than what they gave us we played they’re a good shooting team

They’re really really solid team they just you know they uh they made their free throws at the end of the game which we didn’t and that was the K heeld the first half and it’s coming back to bers again this half we miss some few and they miss talking about a couple guys

That stepped up uh Phoenix passing wise in that first half really did a lot of good stuff for you guys what did you see from him as far as his ability to find people on the court cuz he’s he’s he’s a score but he hasn’t really been a pass

He’s a strong player you know and that’s something in his game that I know he has we just got to get him in more situ to uh to be able to to utilize his ability to pass the basketball and then I thought um I thought uh oh Jesus I’ve got

A Justin I thought Justin was just uh was just unbelievable tonight you know get getting to the RO got to get him to settle down and make free throws uh but other than that I I thought I thought it was a great bounceback game for a guy

Like uh uh uh Abdullah you know I thought he play I thought he was big tonight uh you know it was it was a good game for us so coming out of a break playing against a team that doesn’t really have much of a break and then you

Know playing against a team that’s already played a game uh I can’t be I can’t be that upset I’m never happy with the loss but you know we have to live with it try to get better the most important thing is our game against Gillette on Tuesday you talked about

Justin Daniels and he’s one I feel like you’ve been waiting to see you see the practice but you have’t seen in the games I feel like you’ve been waiting to see him kind of goow that confidence is that something you saw tonight start I I

Did I did I saw I saw the guys actually looking for him too so you know when you’re when you’re stepping into uh you know when you’re stepping into something different is when they when your teammates start to look for you and they were looking for him and it was fun to

Watch him have a smile on his face and you know I hope the guys have a smile on their face tonight I want to have one on mine but I hope they have a smile on their face tonight cuz they really really played hard uh uh I can’t I can’t

Ask for anything you mentioned the fact that before all this got going when when I was sitting your office earlier you mentioned the fact that you you’re thinking are kind of crazy for schedu Air Force prep then West Point prep and then going into Gillette with three

Pretty tough games to start off the year but if the guys play like this do you think that y we’ll be fun you know if they come out they they play this way they were solid tonight they come out play this we’ll be fun like I said Air

Force prep most years with win our week so um you don’t want to get swept by a team but you know a little get you know some L down and a couple of guys hurt and things of that nature it is what it is and I really really enjoyed watching

Those guys fight tonight
