Hey everybody a warm welcome here from Mike with this golf fan life we’re out here at four Palms Disc Golf Course at this year’s 2023 Jacksonville open presented by Dr Charlie Boraz MD we’ve got your Foo lead card ready for the final round as players have already battled through the first two

Rounds this year joining me again on commentary is tournament director Daniel Alexander thanks Mike for having me glad to see this coverage and glad to have disc golf F life back in Jacksonville sure thing and first we got up Holly Finley at 6 under par glad to see Holly

Playing this year next up new cumber Morgan l three under par yeah Morgan playing great discov local forward native Sarah hok at two under par always great to see Sarah play in person and rounding off the card we got Jessica whis at one under par glad to see Jess I

Know she’s been hanging out in Gaines both recently for the off season so uh got hole one here it’s a good hole to kind of you know start them off feel like it’s uh played pretty round par the whole uh tournament for the ladies not many birdies but uh just

Kind of get the Jitters out for the tournament and get you playing some bis Golf out here in Jacksonville like you said pretty easy hole you just got to get through these trees right here right off the Box com right hand backand here for H clean Pole nice soft tier

Finish pretty solid spot yeah should give her a butt sidearm action oh didn’t get it up she f it a little more than she wanted to see if Sarah can do the sidearm I thought for a second she was going left-handed I didn’t think that was right Lefty backand yeah

That looks really good come on let hook up you can’t ask for much better drive than that a little skip to the right nice that’ll give even closer look than Holly definitely Circle one pretty clean maybe flip that over a little too much you got some awkward ground play

There off the tree but yeah at least you went towards the basket yeah definitely cool to see uh two forehand two backhands on the T box there yeah these ladies have a variety of shots in the bag sidearm get her up and down get a power move

On prob look finish a little weaker than I thought she did off the key yeah I thought she was closer than this just a little bit of around here come on like right at circle’s Edge it looks like wow nice putt great looks like Sarah was actually the

Uh only birdie for FBO field on this the round three oh for the whole field yeah nice birdies here should be some easy easy clean up bars here glad to see the weather held out for the weekend it was uh pretty much ideal after like little the entire weekend honestly it was

Great it’s hard to see these days for you know full round all three rounds of the tournament well in moving the tournament this time of year the worry was uh we’re in in theory the back end of hurricane season it doesn’t rain or happen much but you know it could

Happen all right so then we got h 2 coming in at 3:37 par three yeah it’s one of my personal favorite holes really just plays to my game right hand backand sof Heiser got get a little lucky there but always got to putt it feels like if you get good uh

Distance off the drive yeah you really got to shape something to to miss that that bush and tree combo right there sah only birdie with a forehand get it flipped over on that’s looking great o a little shaved off but that’s that’s going to be a putt

Yeah looks like she’s going to right hand backand oh unlucky tree kick that tree has been hit once a million times she should have a clean look to get up and down from there at least yeah she’s definitely in a better spot considering she at that first available

See if Morgan can shape one like Sarah it’s a little higher ba and heavy yeah I think she probably got some ground play one thing I’ll notice about the holes here is uh pine straw will definitely get a little bit more skip than usual nice snap on that

Backand fortunate yeah that’s that bush tree you kind of got to pick if you want to go in front of it or behind it and she just sail a little bit but she just went right right into it try to went go right through it she had enough snap on that might

Have pushed through yeah it’s going to be a tough putt there for Holly to save her three it’s going to be a tough start for her I just did push out enough to uh relatively clean shot yeah that should bring her close enough get her Circle one

There oh he’s got to scramble here for this par safe got stretch all the way out just lay it up there got through clean at least okay she’s got a pretty good lead she’s got Strokes to get makes it interesting for everybody right yeah right Morgan Had a Bad angle there just

Had to kind of throw it up Lay It Up s again here with the circle Edge putt for birdie great putt good birdie look at up the stats here looks like Sarah was the only Birdie on this hole for FP round three also so starting off strong great back to back birdie

Sarah and she’s goingon to take two to Holly right there scrambled by Jess saves her parbe it should be two little tapin for them yeah and unfortunate bogy for Holly it’s going to bring her to 5 uh with Sarah just one behind now and Morgan should just be cleaning up a

Par we’ll go on to uh hole number three yeah that one’s uh 323 feet from the white teads here uh part three yeah hole three is uh definitely one of our signature holes um almost every tournament we play in no matter what pad plays it this is always one of the

Hardest uh getting even a par here usually you’re getting a quarter stroke from the field so interested to see how these uh these girls attack it yeah it’s a tough line Sarah coming in have to do a forehand so she got the get it to flip over and glide

Left a lot of touch involved here yeah maybe a little low but that was the line yeah she definitely hit the Gap and know can’t see it here on video coverage but there there is a Mando way left here so you can’t throw over the walking

Path like Morgan kind of throws the same line Sarah did yeah she did that a great line yeah you if you land up right there in the middle of the Fairway away from those trees you should it all depends like you should get some nice Ground

Play Skid up there if you’re left or right there’s a kind of like a hallway you got to hit yeah that looks really nice Jessica wow yeah that’s an ideal that’s an ideal line I’m interested to see where she lands at but out of her hand that was a great

Toss H with another clean pull as well all four of these ladies doing work on this whole making it look easy those trees right there have been hit thousands if not millions of times oh no SRA did got turned over a little too much yeah she should be in an okay spot there

This green is pretty guarded but that bush is pretty pretty light that looks ideal right there clean up and down should be a drop in for a par Morgan had a little too much on it it’s hard to see from that angle but holl had to throw over a bunch of bushes

To uh same with Jessica here completely obstructed Holly had to go over the same thing just 20 feet behind her yeah that’s I say you have to hit that hallway right there at the basket otherwise you know good good luck yeah it’s there’s other ways to get in but it’s you’re not

Trying to you really don’t want to go the other way that is that is the way honestly this the best mistake is to go long left kind of how where Morgan went and it opens back up justce that power save yeah quite a bit more obstructed than we

Thought picks up the par nice Dagger of a putt love her putt little shout out to uh Ryan Perkins for putting all that uh mulch down all of our baskets for the weekend we got a lot of shout outs uh for perky he did the uh 4p yep yeah he does a lot

Of the course man much appreciated to him yeah we showcase that uh in the in the beginning of the video all right now we are at ho four 343 part three yeah this whole um big issue is you got a Mando to the right and then you got the OB left with The

Walking path it’s kind of more of a mental game I think on this hole than anything because I just can see it feels pretty wide open but the wind picking up coming through this area can just really get in your head sometimes we’re with a pretty clean pull

That is definitely the Gap you want to hit yeah she got oh unlucky okay okay could have been worse yeah that was ideal where it landed too you get a nice flare and Skip near the basket she almost got all of that there little bit more get right past that tree

And she was up there see if Jessica’s got it come on the flare should be right next to her pretty much you right next to each other probably going right hand backand trying for a turnover yeah a little bit tougher of a line just kind of go straight down

There about about the same distance other girls had oh she gets that turned over a little too much but just flexing out sah had the right idea just didn’t hook up quick enough for her but she did get past all the trees so it should be a

Clean up and down for her out there it’s going to be a tough run with that ceiling right there yeah she’s trying to run it it’s definitely going to be tough I like that bid nose up angle though I think that was a run yeah definitely same with Holly gonna have

That ceiling in her way just G to make it really difficult to get the birdie from this angle a Leaning Tree is kind of right in Jess’s line too she’s probably going around it got to split the trees yeah thought she was she had the best look the squirrel is this

Outside believe I believe she is outside the circle I spoke too soon Morgan Morgan well kind of prefer Jess’s look honestly yeah just seems like the more naturaliser this she’s trying to force it yeah it’s one of those things where you’re that distance and you you make

Doesn’t practice like I I got to go over this I it’s hard to see from that camera angle too cuz we were off to the side there but that tree was definitely a lot more in her way then we saw she still got her three though so at

Least she uh don’t worry about that I know sometimes when you attack those ones that you feel you got to you get a a little bit of anxiety on the comebackers but these ladies are high class players and no problem there for Morgan well I don’t think this is a

Gimme birie hole at all oh no no so great power frame from them yeah this this hole actually came in as the uh the fourth hardest hole for Foo on the day and actually it had no birdies for fpo oh wow y yeah so ex excellent par frame

Yep yep the average for the foo field was 3.2 all right and then that’s going to bring us on to whole five coming in at 330 ft another par three you got a early Mando here on the cop sign there kind of keeps the two holes of four and five

Split up as you get down here in the basket the big takeaway here is all these pine straws if you throw anything with any kind of skip you’re going to be in trouble if you get to that left hand side because it is jail over there Mor gets one flipped over that is

Looking ideal what a beautiful shot testing that Mando you talking about yeah you kind of want to flirt with it a little bit I mean it’s kind of the thing if you play it too safe and you get you got left her in the woods early it’s just as bad as missing the

Mando just get turned over oh that’s beautiful talk about trusting your disc throwing a great shot there he wants to turn that’s a mistake you don’t want early release right into that it’s it’s jail over there yeah it’s it’s tough to even get a three when you get

Them get it stuck in there oh wow very touchy forehand a little too much fade but it’s still going to be a putt yes s might have faded out a little bit with a little bit of a ground play by the green but she got past all the the issues with

The trees at least like as you can see here there really is no ideal spot to be over here so interested to see what Holly can fabricate here a little bit of a scramble I mean I think we’re just hoping to get through at this point oh

Yeah got most of the way still going to be a tough putt from there yes yeah definely want to get past that last tree but she should have at least a half look at it J nice jump putt there a little bit there yeah Sarah’s clean for her putt

Here yeah I was worried if she uh was underneath the Hanging Tree right there yeah but she looks to passed that sails that one a little and Morgan with the definitely best Drive see in here yeah and that’s oh wow nice but way to capitalize and that’s kind of

What you were saying though if you if you get it clean you hit that ground and you will slide well past the basket yep seeing Holly stretching out again trying to get this P yeah it’s uh it’s gel over there I’ve spent many many times way too many strokes on that side

Of this hole it’s really hard to kind of Step through those Palms too Jagged short great bid from from where she was at wow you she gave it a bed from a knee just it’s tough you know it’s one of those ones you got to try to get the stroke

But which makes it come back her and minimizes the damage and she does it’s going to be our second bogey to start the uh final round that’s not what she wants actually with that birdie from Morgan they are now tied up oh wow L can happen I’m I I will say do

Feel the uh front half of our course here in Jacksonville with the more challenging side or at least the side that uh can be harder to uh get the birdies on shall we say you get off the Fairway and you definitely have to scramble compared to

Some of the back part is a little bit more forgiving shall we say Jessica cleaning up her power all right now we got uh kind of a short hole but still very difficult hole a 27 ft part three so you got aanda we just passed there it’s kind of what

Makes this whole challenging um you got a lot of woods left but you got to make the Mando but then also make this disc get left so you know personally I throw something you know like a rightand backhand on the Annie trust the disc just lace it yeah what a great

Shot a little long but long okay yeah I think off the T you got to you got to pick either either you’re going a little higher or you’re going a little low lower uh you can kind of opt to skip off skip off the top of the hillside kind of

Like what Jessica’s doing right here wow wow Parks it you know out of her hand I wasn’t sure but uh that was a amazing shot by justess so Sarah a little bit trickier for her throwing the forehand she’s gonna have to flip this one over and still skip oh she does yeah

She’s a ground play you want to make it past that Palm right there to give you yourself a really clean putt yeah get around that corner yeah if she straddles that putt she should have a look probably a little high I think yeah see that’s where I say you got to pick

Either go high and around that or go underneath it and she got stuck right in the middle definitely one of our more uh picturesque holes I would say out here you look on udis we definitely have a few pictures of this area of the course that uh just are very beautiful I mean

Most more than half of the course is lined with some beautiful scenery so Holly taking the unorthodox approach here and throw this while sitting down I’ve ever seen this before but hey it works it works I’m about try I need to practice that I get home yeah I mean you know that ceiling

Right there is difficult so and being right hand you know would you try to throw a roller from there you know oh good bit by Morgan she want to get those backtack birds but should of sticking the baset for Sarah just grazed over the top of the hill give her a

Look just missed it and you can see uh Jess’s parked right here yeah she’s still not up yet yeah s walks away with her par I think par is not not too bad off this hole no the the average uh for the hole was right at three for Foo um only four

Birdies um on the day for Foo uh Jess was here with one of them tap Angel have shortly great sa I pretty much was right in the middle of the pack when it came to difficulty great birdie by J great birdie yeah Morgan almost had

It so very well played hole of all the ladies she was trying to take the lead right there all right next uh we got hole B this is a tough tough hole 590 feet Par Four yeah it’s our first Par Four on the day um got a few par four

Pins we’ve used in the past this is actually a new one we installed recently within the past uh two years year and a half so you got to make your way down to the Fairway to the left and then at some point find a way to fight through the

Trees to get to the right side of the second cluster um interest definitely to see how some of these girls attack it CU I’ve seen some people try to go off this T box and really get right really quickly and that just you it’s always interesting to watch different people play the whole

Differently just with a great pull right down the Fairway yeah there’s lace in it that’s a beautiful shot or’s a little High looks like she’s trying to get over to the right she comes down in an okay spot yeah see if Sarah can push through on this

Skit yeah if you if you go right you want to get out of the tree line yeah she Sarah would definitely want to be a little more right than that to give a clean look but and Holly lacing it right out there yeah you either want to go straight out

And even be wide left is fine it opens it up a lot more mhm yeah there is an OB left but it’s it’s pretty far over there I think it’s these girls aren’t going to play yeah is that the pathway yeah the walking path yeah oh a little Mis relase

There it’s going to leave her wide yeah she definitely wanted to hook up more it’s a par four so should still be able to get her up and down from there but it’s a good little turnover oh the tree nope swatted it down yeah took that one a little too

High yeah this the problem well she’s got a little look she’s got a little window there it’s definitely it’s it’s definitely there like I said if you beat that last tree that Sarah was to your right it’s it’s it’s a great shot so s to do a little more fabricating of this

Shot here but anyone can do it I’m sure she can oh wow beautiful that hooks up ah we can’t see but she’s got a put yeah that definitely was I mean the way she got around that bush there was awesome to see how she shaped that forehand just with a monster

Drive come on hook up hook up oh yeah think you a little a little long maybe but uh she went a little wide yeah I think she’s pin high but left it far left she should have a clean putt though there’s not many trees that way

Back at the basket yeah she’s going to have a look for bird Holly just putting it close give your a chance to get that par Morgan might be able to give it a little bit of a bid half bid here oh oh oh great run yeah appreciate the effort yeah she hit

That leaf right there she might have had a little bit more on it I don’t know I spoke a little too soon about being no trees didn’t I W it’s right just as line pretty much yeah you can she’s upset about that oh she’s walking it off see

If maybe she wants to jump put this one yeah I think jump or I think might be putting from a knee and worried about falling over I know I’ve been in situations like like that where I’m just yeah that’s what it is you want to give

It the full oomph but if you fall over you don’t want to cost yourself with the footfall okay opt to just flick it around this tree she’s got this flick in the bag for sure yes yeah what a great shot I love seeing those go in yeah that is a great shot

Yeah love how she kind of went through her her mental game there to figure out what was going to work best and she made the right call there yeah we saw the the full thing on display there made the right choice yeah definitely sah ended up here right in

Circle one for a birdie look oh you just chained out strong side there looks like yeah so get props sah on that second shot to park it there cuz where she was at to get even that close is great execution on my second shot we’re going to try to save her par no

Problem Sarah gets her power as well looks like hole B for the the ladies G one of the easier holes here on the final round only h four birdies but not many scores uh outside a par through the field yeah it’s tough to get in a lot of

Trouble being a par four on this one yeah I think as long as you don’t go OB or get stuck in those trees like early you can get one mistake mhm all right now we’re at uh whole SE whole SE 206 feet but it’s a island island and double

Mandos this year so the double Mandos we normally don’t play they are just put up for the Jo Pro weekend because this hole in the past has always been one of the easiest not easiest hole sure so we wanted to kind of find a way to maybe fabricate a little more difficulty and

Uh see how the scores came down and help got some feedback from Pros so decided to watch it on coverage right hand backhand nice soft touch to it yeah she made the Manda I’m should be good I think she’s good yeah a little bit of a tester putt still but I

Like the forehand here got a lot of control with it makes the man wants to sit down though no I don’t think she made that one Sarah also with the forehand that’s that’s what you want right there yeah great shot with a right hand back hand just want to lace this one right

Down the middle a run there nice soft Landing I go back and forth myself I want to throw this island when I play it got forehand got backhand she did miss the island goes to the Drop Zone lays it up close yeah she’s the only one missed it unfortunately didn’t get enough anheiser

On that forehand with the birdie great putt Sarah Jessica see if she can follow up uh back get back to back birdies here I feel like I jinxer right there I don’t know I I’d have maybe this was pre-recorded I don’t know oh she’s still out yeah clean it up

There you go least you know it’s just the par this the par didn’t get the bogey that’s interesting I’ve got a par on this where I made one from the Drop Zone and it felt way different than when I got the par when I missed the the 15f footer doesn’t it though

Yeah man we got a battle here they’re real close now Sarah’s one behind Holly mhm all right coming in uh let’s see whole six uh 217 feet part three yep getting to our one of our uh pretty wooded holes here at four Pals um this pin a little

Bit of a left finish after you make it through the first Gap no say a little bit my drone turned quite a bit right there so uh this hole you just you you got to stay in the Fairway i’ love to see the shots they’re throwing here look at this roller come

On didn’t get enough angle put on it m you know I like to think that the roller would be like a safer shot to kind of weave through these trees than through the air but it’s difficult no matter how you play it yesterday on the round two coverage Holly actually aced this hole

Yeah which we had gotten all three rounds of the ladies that been good to see this is definitely a great Ace to get J okay she gets the angle down oh got stopped by a tree that was looking good too she made it that LE Leaning

Tree that’s in the Fairway you see there about like 120 up that’s the one you really want to get past oh barely missed that tree oh that flipped over on her in the air come on stop definely don’t want to be that far over n these trees are lining the whole Fairway

Mhm just has a little bit of an angle here She Get Up and Down Easy putt bounce off the tree a little bit but should be put from there okay that could have been worse for Morgan that wasn’t too bad GNA be able to save that

Par Sarah around that tree that was that was a tough putt a little half bed there and you know on with the trees right in front of their faces get around it there we go good that look good good weak side putt with just power just let the chains do the

Work she has got one of the most confident putts I’ve ever seen yeah and so Holly actually was the uh only birdie in a fpo here on hole six after be in the Ace the day before so obviously I mean that’s why she’s in the lead so so Holly having no problems with

Hole six it’s definitely a when she’s got dialed in something this hole came in as the second hardest hole for the FP field yeah for her to take a birdie on I mean she’s taking one on the whole field right yeah exactly yeah so average came

In at uh 3.4 if not two yeah if not two exactly all right H seven par three at 21 feet another one in the woods here another one of our Woods holes here um kind of a little bit dog leg you got to get right off the T box pretty quick to

Get around the Three Little Guardian trees and then make your way down here The Gauntlet and both have a clean putt yeah I’d want to say a little bit easier than the last hole but I I can’t say that they’re both about the same probably I think probably the same

Difficulty but they do require a different shot which is nice the is trying to go right at it okay I’m assuming she hit a tree there yeah yeah almost got all the way there that was great yeah I SW off the Gap here you see you have two these little

Three Guardian trees you go left of them or sneak to right one goes left the roller okay yeah she hit a tree right there that one was looking good too it started off going right it was going to hook up left at the end I like that I like the

Idea hit the little narrow Gap here no she’s going to hit that tree no you did kick the right way you want to the left side the right side’s jail left side you have better angle hope to get up and down okay good I want to see another attempt at this

Roller you get around it so lucky so lucky oh man had a little too much on it and not enough angle but it’s up there yeah yeah Jess kicked a little farther left than I thought off video she has an alley there that’s a pretty good shot considering where she landed I think

She’ll take that there’s a little straddle here try to get around this tree a little get around both of these trees little Hiser half bit hopefully uh she G do a little anheiser kind of put it close or a three seeing if she can move this looks like she can dead and

Unattached probably should move that before the tournament that’s on me I just came down this morning it just came down yeah you definitely can tell it’s super green yeah great pot actually that probably helped her she probably got stopped by that on her roller uh you probably aren’t wrong yeah

Now I think about it we didn’t see the finish that landed probably has a little bit of a tree to put through not a problem great birdie dagger dagger and Jess with a great scramble should PR to go over those uh those palms and put it this close after

That t- shot that went pretty much left off off the Box she’ll be very happy with the three there and Sarah tapping in for her three and whole seven here coming in as the what the fifth hardest hole for the ladies so a lot of higher scores but definitely had some

Birdies move on the whole eight yeah another long one for us at 475 ft Par Four yeah so this is a par four um definitely short on the distance shall we say but kind of plays as an open hole and then shifts to a very wooded hole so

The drives really you want to in my opinion push your drivve close to the walking path which is OB there as you can to give yourself a better angle to uh get inside here yeah you can come in a little early but it’s a lot tighter

Yeah if you come in early it’s it’s it’s really hard to find a clean angle or clean alley to get that shot down if you’re trying to get a birdie here yeah you have that one like walking path yeah it’s very tight yeah we’ll say if you have any guys that

Are can throw overhand you will see it on this hole as well oh just kind of Plinko yeah down Holly just lace come hook up hook up yeah that is a that is a solid shot Holly gives herself definitely a look so that’s where I say uh she’s got that

Look down that pathway yeah it’s it’s I think with the distance she got she’ll she’ll be kind of happy with that but you definitely want to be a little more left to give yourself more options looks like Morgan’s going for the same spot yeah a little shorter her angle will be

A little more tough but it’s definitely not a bad Drive is this a little wide yeah pass no right into him you want to get past those uh those Palms yeah those make it really difficult not only do you have to get around them but then perfectly in line

For that next huge bush in the way a little roller action here from Jess uh oh did not get it down on the right angle and that is rolling OB that’ll be OB she will take her drop um from last and Bounds which will be by the car

Path um hopefully she gets her Des out of the water there cuz she did go in a little pond looks like yeah see she’s got this little baby kind of palm bush in front of her and she’s got to go around that giant one back there mhm tough tough
