Yeah I think he was right uh you know for the time being I think uh he just had a feeling down then I would eventually end up here um so now that I am here I’m excited to be here um can’t wait to get to work with the guys and

Get to know everybody why did you want to play for him and come here to Pittsburgh uh just the history um you know they was always wi us here uh great organization uh Hall of Fame players that you can talk about so um that was a

Big reason and just um the players is here um mostly on the defense that I want to talk about uh just those guys you know what they’re about how they play the game uh how they interact with everybody um so I think that’s just the biggest keys for me coming here

Specifically about the defense how do you feel like you fit in with you know this rivalry the physicality and how Baltimore and Pittsburgh are so similar it’s AF AFC North football that’s the best way to describe it just we not going to make anything complicated we’re

Going to go out there play football play physical play Fast um free loose and all that stuff last year the Ravens declined your fifthy year option at the time you said blessing in disguise clearly motivated you made your first Pro Bowl second team All Pro

Uh how do you carry that over here to Pittsburgh that production just keep doing what I’m doing uh you know I don’t need to change anything up uh even though it’s a different place just got to go out there and do what I do um lead

Uh be there for my teammates have their back um and just go out there and play football the way I know how to play it do you think it was that chip on your shoulder or was it also you’re growing and learning and you’re getting older as

You you know get used to everything I think it was me just growing uh I think the chip you know kind of fell off a little bit way through the summer just going out there being with my teammates every day they probably took my mind off

All that stuff so um it was just me going out there playing football um growing up being able to gain experience you know coming into the league I was young didn’t play that much in college so um just being able to fully you know get the experience of playing under my

Build probably helped the most what’s a misconception about you we probably say that um that I can’t do it on my own I think uh everybody thinks that you know I need I need a running mate that’s better than me to uh be able to do stuff

On my own so um you know the biggest thing for me now is just going out there and prove it that you know I could be that guy I could be the vocal leader the dominant leader the guy that everybody looks up to what was it like playing

With ran though and he had to have taught you things can you share that with us yeah he most definely great dude uh vocal leader passionate guy um and just just seeing him how he plays every every single down every single day practice film the way he goes in the

Cafeteria greets everybody uh just all around guys so um there’s so much stuff that I learned from that guy and I am thankful for him and he knows that we talked about it so it’s just there so much stuff that could go on about that guy being that you were drafted by the

Ravens you were taught to hate the Steelers uh from probably day one is it hard to like wrap your head around playing for the other side it definitely is hard um it’s like waking up and just checking my phone and just looking it’s like I can’t believe I really am going

There so um it’s it’s definitely different um you know I’m getting crucified about it from the fans and stuff but I mean at in the day you know I got a family to take care of and um I honestly couldn’t see a better fit for me um going somewhere besides here

What’s something you want the Steelers fans to know about you as a person and as a player as a person as a player I think y’all just going to get everything out of me you know um I’m just super excited to be here uh we got a lot of

Great things ahead and I can’t wait to be a part of that talk to me about your pregame ritual of listening to some Phil Collins uh how did that start and how did that get you pumped up for a game uh that started in high school uh our coach

Was like telling us a story he had like had it low in the background and stuff and he turn the lights off man had the coaches beating on the wall and stuff and it was the semi-final game before the uh Dome so that’s just stuck with me

The whole time and you know so now every time I step on the field I got to play that listen to it a little bit very cool and what are your plans you know before the offseason program starts here shortly keep up with my fishing uh that

And just mostly just work out um just like I said I ain’t trying to change anything up just do what I’ve been doing um and I think I’ll be fine all right Patrick thanks so much cool thank you
