Do tour players throw the club from the top of their backswings?

The data in the case of Olesen shows that he does.

So you guys were asking about the throw from the top using the hack motion data and that’s what I’m going to show you here so at the peak we’re going to use Olson’s driver here he’s at -5 degrees I’m going to talk more about this in a

Member video about how the wrist uh is actually working with owner deviation radial deviation but the point is that right as he gets to the top of his swing you can see that this5 immediately begins to widen so you can see the the teal number5 there uh

Going immediately 89 -10 and then right about here you’ll see a huge swing to -21 and then all the way back to basically where he started at address which is -42 at aess he was – 37 so there’s 5 degrees of difference but what this shows this teal line that you can

See is showing that the throw from the top is exactly what I showed you and the at least in the case of olison Swing now there’s many many different patterns and I encourage you to go look at the data in hack motion to see how this changes

From player to player but because we’re looking at the greates and because olison matches so closely to Tiger we’re using his as a baseline uh Benchmark here and that’s what you can see happening if I wipe out these other ones it’s a little bit easier to

See excuse me sorry I’m find a little bit of cold uh you’ll see immediately that there is a drop happening right from the top of the swing and as I mentioned right about here is about where you’re in GDP as I talked about in the last video but in Olson’s case you

Can undoubtedly see the widening of the wrist angle starting right from the top of the back swing or even almost slightly before and then widening all the way down

  1. Can you do a video about how to implement the GOAT theory, specifically about the early release at the top and continuing to release and impact, when using the driver. I can implement the GOAT theory with my irons with excellent results compared to my old swings. With the driver, I can’t seem to get comfortable with the transition from the top of the swing and my old tendencies creep in (yanking down my arms, firing my hips, and muscling the swing with my body). Any advice and a new video about swinging the driver would be appreciated.

  2. Man oh man I love this detail that you have put into this Chuck. In slow motion I know what to look for at each position on backswing and downswing and what that feels like. Just have a play around with it at work using my "office wedge" is constantly groving my swing and developing that feel. You are amazing Chuck… Love this!!!! Thanks again!!! I can relate to the comment below and I will persevere with the feel in my irons until I can translate it to my driver. 😊😊😊

  3. Chuck is there anyway I can contact you throw email or something I wanted to ask you a question about the throw motion and the physics related to it?
