E Oh Oh Oh Back in the day I handed out actually invitations that I hand printed up and I put a little wax stamp on them in W and so I was like a touring Pro you know I won my first worlds in 2002 and from then I really did just travel the
Country um playing disc golf supporting disc golf doing clinics and I would hand these out to women to make sure that they knew that they didn’t need the invite because it had the moniker of the US championships which was uh for one division only and you needed the invite
To attend Austin Texas love the tal central time zone so Austin it was and um since then I mean it’s always been a Bedrock for disc golf because we’ve had John Halk that’s been in the area we’ve just got uh steeped in Tradition for
Texas disl I love it it’s been uh I made me it made me a world champion when I won my first World’s Ted Williams he was a 70-year-old multiple world champion yeah and he told me he’s like once you’re a world champion you’re always world champion use it wisely and those
Were just great advice and back then you didn’t have so many opportunities to just be an athlete so I used my world championship to bring others into the sport have faith in your vision it’s okay to take chances it’s okay I have won over 200 events but I have lost more
Than 200 and if I don’t continually put myself forward and if you don’t put yourself forward in life you don’t know how far you can go and I think of that in dis golf I think of it as just having relationships with people it’s okay to be vulnerable it’s okay to take chances
It’s okay to fail because success is best when you Try well folks we have hopped in the Walnut Creek just off of Harvey penck disc golf course and we’ve swam a brief while down here to the site of the 2024 United States women’s disc golf championships here at sprinkle Valley the first PDGA major of the Year folks Brian arhart
Nate Perkins it’s Tournament Central Time bringing you into the action here of this wonderful venue for this tournament Nate bring us in what more can you tell us about Austin disc golf and what they’re doing out here yeah I mean that was a great interview with one
Of the the pioneers of women in disc goof Dez reading and she’s been down here for the last 25 years out out on the outskirts in Wimberly and she said it well that this has been a hub for disl uh not not only just in Texas but in the United States
Uh 50 courses in a 25 mile radius we’ve had numerous Pros start their careers here in Austin you’ve got Dallas just to the north Houston just to the East and every year Brian has the most tournaments the most active PDGA members come out of this Central Texas Corridor
We like to call it and this year we’ve brought something extra special for the United States Women’s Championship and it’s a brand new property tailored specific to the fpo division sprinkle Valley what a name sprinkle Valley is we’re playing in a little Ash Juniper Forest here and what that means to me is
That the rough is nasty it’s it’s that true T make you bleed when you go and look for your disc it’s unforgiving rough this is a highly technical course something that we don’t see as much on the disc off Pro Tour taking a look at some of these
Tight Fairways the front nine is is it’s technical Brian what do you have on it well first off I I have to say after all these years covering dis golf I think that sweet spot for me at least is that low 60s par this is a par 64 and between
8 and 9,000 ft of length 8398 uh if you can take that and put it into the woods and design a well balanced property that just makes the most exciting Disc Golf in my opinion they have done so many things right hole 9 is just an incredible hole that we
Will dive into later with such technicality and every single time you play that hole another trick has to come out of your bag you will never get two identical rounds out here Nate you have to get off the tea at least the best you can to set yourself up for some of these
Really technical second shots in the par fours and again there’s eight par 3s out here ranging from around 280 up to about the 360 Mark so you’re going to be throwing mid-ranges you’re going to be throwing Fairways you’re going to be clubbing up to the distance driver in
Nate and and I think you can back me up here I think it’s possible to take down a championship here with just one spin y but having both is a huge Advantage yeah I think that walking the course for the first time it really felt clear that the
Forehand plays and you don’t have to throw as many highly technical shapes to score if you have a a left to right shot the backhand is going to play when I think of a player like Missy Ganon she’s going to have to throw a lot higher
Quality shots she’s going to have to get that mantis up high it’s going to have to be moving from left to right she’s going to have to recreate that shape over and over again if she’s going to get herself into position to score on some of those holes and you know I
Wanted to touch on the course designer there’s a famous course down the street called Roy G Guerrero I think a lot of us have heard of that one it’s been one of the better courses in the Southern United States since its Inception in 2010 that was designed by Michael UL who
Has done a lot of properties around here in the Travis County area he was their first pick when Zach Jansen guy Buon the mint diss uh Founders got this property they chose Michael ol specifically and not only did he design a course for both divisions but they came out here and tweaked this
Specifically for this tournament which is just not something that we’ve had in the past you know this has been a tournament that has moved all around the country it’s been given it’s been the bid has been given to different clubs but they’ve just kind of utilized
Courses that are already there it is so rare in our sport to tailor a course specifically for a tournament and that’s what we have here that’s why I feel like this sprinkle Valley setup is going to be perfect for the division well Nate before we dive into a few specific holes
That I think we should talk about that I think encapsule encapsulate this design what I love is the amount of twists and turns in the course and the severity of those twists and turns there’s some really sharp dog legs left there’s some really sharp dog legs right but then
There’s those more those more subtle dog legs left and right that Force the players to kind of change spins throw the backhand turnover that finishes straight versus throwing the sharp skipping forehand and I think it it really uh mixes and matches well and I think the players have to use a lot of
Their skill set out here with that I think a whole Nate that we should dive into right away is hole number seven I think this is a perfect hole to talk about the design of this course well first off what we notice is that there’s a ceiling there’s no going over the top
There’s no breaking the holes out here on the front when we’re in this Juniper Forest right here and you can see just how tight it is it’s only 640 ft but the primary Gap that they’re asking you to shape through is 6 feet at its skinniest
Right there it starts to open up a little bit but you can see you do not want to finish right over there it’s absolute jail you need a gentle fade in front of that last all the trees right there the further you push to the right
The more you’re going to open up higher too much you close things off and that’s that’s what I like about this the Drone flew the right gap which is going to be that safer heer still a tight Gap but again if you don’t push it Forward at
The end of that Hiser you’re not going to have a good angle getting up to the green and also there is a left Gap you can throw a backhand turnover I’ve seen players go for it and it’s more technical off the tea but the Finish is a lot better percentage wise if you’re
Looking for the birdie so you still have have to be very confident in this Nate let’s jump into another hole hole number nine par 4 again only 470 ft but let’s talk about the teeth here this is one of the cooler holes in the course yeah again we have another ceiling so players
Are forced to throw low here and they have at this point in the round you’re on whole nine you kind of know if you’re hitting gaps right now you have another one that’s 8 ft across it’s only 470 ft so it’s 310 ft to this first l Landing
Zone dog leg completely 90° left and then you have a myriad of these juniper trees that you have to shape through the flex forehand is my favorite shot on this second one unless you can just throw dead straight 250 ft well Nate you can push the Hiser and challenge the
Back tree line off the te and actually the Drone flew a pretty aggressive line there on the outside there is a more open route to throw a backhand turnover so the hole can feel uh kind of stock if you’re in the right spot but let’s jump into a par three out
Here hole number 17 yeah you’re starting off in the woods here you don’t quite get the wind read that you’re going to need to stick this island I personally think every disc golf course needs a hole like this one we need that 17 at usdgc I think that this is this has
Clearly been modeled after that to we need a a place where the round can kind of come to a halt you know the score can go in the other direction it’s going to get windy out here I mean we’re in Texas undoubtedly over the four rounds we’re going to have a day where
This island is feels like a miracle to stick well you have to pick a side so the wind generally seems to be coming headwind you have to pick that poweriser into said headwind if the wind does pick up or you have to go left and challenge
That flat shot that drifts a little bit so you have to control your distance it’s kind of a pick your poison type hole and it’s just at that distance where players are going to have to think uh overall I I’m thrilled with what we’re seeing out here on this course and
It’s still pretty fresh Nate it’s it’s not necessarily a course that’s been around for a long time no it’s really fresh I mean they’ve been running tournaments on it to kind of get that feedback from the local community on what they need to change they’ve given
The PDGA the data that they need to come out here and maybe adjust some of the pars which they they did do they took away a couple of the par fives and and moved baskets and again that’s the kind of in intention for a a course and for a
Tournament that we haven’t seen as much of in the past they we’ve been a little bit more focused on you know the the things outside of the course as far as like where are the spectators going to go like you know where are cameras going like all all those things but this has
Been tailored for for the fo this weekend and I also want to talk about just the headquarters here I mean this is you know Austin beer works collaborating with mint disc so you have mint’s you know primary Pro Shop right next door is Austin Beer Works uh one of
Austin’s largest local breweries por and beer got some delicious coffee with me on TC set today it’s just it has that you know feel there’s a couple food trucks out back you know people are finishing their rounds and they want to hang out they want they want to you know
Party up here so there’s a big treehouse like right near the T whole one it it has a really good feel to to it it’s giving me a Maple Hill Vibe Nate and that’s why I’m so excited to be here let’s jump into some of the players that
Have proven to us this season that this could be the weekend they take down the first major of the year and on Scoggin Nate told you this is the boss this is not the manager this is not the assistant manager this tournament is the boss and I want to win that tournament
Let’s take a listen to what own had to say in her own words this week this is how fun about this SC you cannot predict it much about this SC because sometimes some people can just come from nowhere and smack you I’m not call anybody out I feel like anybody can
Just come from nowhere and just like hey there you go I win I slap you in the face that’s why this weekend I keep the eye on everybody I’m like whoa whoa who’s that who’s that you know because it’s going to be so much fun and like I
Say like sometime I shot under and then the next day I shot like four or five over I’m like wow okay that’s why uh Discord will will eat you up Discord will will teach you how to be uh humble does it mean anything different to you
That this tournament has an M next to it that it’s a major would it would it mean anything compared to winning in Austin versus winning US Women’s or is it the same in your mind no it’s not the same this this is the boss right here this is
The boss yeah this is the boss that one is a manager this is the boss well Nate she doesn’t want to see the manager she wants to go straight to the boss this is her opportunity to take down a huge major championship and Nate last week on top of shooting just an
Incredible 1055 rated round one of the best rounds of all time she shot the highest rated tournament average of all time at an Elite Series or major and what I noticed Nate was that she closed the tournament she didn’t just beat the field she beat Kristen Tatar by 11
Strokes Nate she’s hitting 60 Footers with just a couple holes left in the tournament she doesn’t need to be going for any of these but she is locked and loaded she’s fired up right now and she still says my arm isn’t feeling great but she’s listening to her body a lot
More compared to how she was last year and it has to play to her advantage yeah you she fooled me I didn’t see any arm issues lingering with her last week I mean I I feel like she’s unbeatable that’s just the way that golf is when someone gets the momentum Scotty Sheffer
Just dub dub dub at the in at the Players Championship you know I can’t imagine own even missing putts from this range or in just because that’s the most recent data that we have and she’s got her partner Justin who is actually unfortunately not going to be able to
Join her until the weekend and I don’t know if we give that enough credit because of you know that they’re a team they they they win tournaments together he’s on the bag for you know 90% of her tournament rounds often he gets to take Friday off this week he’s working
Thursday and Friday she’s got a brand new caddy for the two days we’re just going to have to see if that has any kind of effect on the killer own SC right now well I I personally I don’t think it does because watching this course get played and watching the the
Layout of this course this is own skogen’s territory there’s a few holes some par 3es that she might not be able to reach but it feels like whenever there’s a course like that she’s like okay I’m not gonna get this one this one this one and this one that’s okay and
She ends up winning the tournament she said the same thing at daglo and put together another historic weekend but Nate we haven’t even talked about Kristen tar yet who despite feeling like she didn’t have the energy the stamina last week in Austin she still got second
Place and shot a clean eight under par to finish the tournament this is kind of what we’re looking for we’re looking for a battle at the top we’re looking for someone to be playing at their best when Kristen’s playing at her best uh what does Kristen have to do out here well
Not only did she shoot the eight under final round last week but she still averaged a thousand on the tournament like which is incredible I think there’s only five times in history three in the FBO division at at leite series are major where someone has averaged over a
Th and lost I don’t really feel like Kristen feels like she’s chasing anything right now she of course would never admit that but even with own’s 11 stroke Victory last week as much as I you know I I want there to be some pressure on her it
Still seems like she’s going into this tournament with no pressure she’s like I don’t have that expectation I don’t feel like I’m defending anything I don’t feel like I have anything to defend and it’s that exact mentality that has allowed her to come on top at these events no
Matter who else in the field seems to have the momentum seems to be dropping in putts from everywhere she comes out on top it was this event last year over on the east coast Burlington North Carolina somewhat similar of a track Brian if you can recall that one tight
Technical with a mix of some open holes and own was making a push Haley hna they were making a push Kristen unfaced until the end and she separated herself I mean this is a fourr tournament you don’t just get to shoot one really good round after a lackluster
One and win the tournament you can have maybe one okay round owns okay round last week was 9990 that’s what anyone gets to get away with now but that that’s it like you said Kristen has had to do a lot of mental gymastics to rationalize this position that she’s put
Herself in uh she can’t just say oh it’s a major I have to ramp up my practice she has to remove that meaning from from everything because if she doesn’t do that she lets the pressure of everybody expecting her to win crumble her and you
Can tell that she has done such a good job of rationalizing and finding that space where she realizes why is it called the title defense what like what do you what do you mean this is a brand new week this is a brand new course like we’re all playing against each other
Every week everyone has a shot to win and why not me we talked to Kristen during the week let’s hear what you had to say it’s just uh exciting uh to play a major um this early in the year um yeah it’s a fun little course
You you have to be super accurate here and to be honest I haven’t really thought about like defending anything because it sounds very weird I don’t know it sounds like I have something and I have to defend it but I mean I’m just here I try to do my best whatever comes
Out of it it is what it is and I I will try to keep that mentality and and just uh be focused and centered and and not give out my energy to unnecessary things and and just believe that every everything will work out in my favor
Whatever result it will be the start of the season has been a little bit of a little bit overwhelming to me and everything is starting to catch up with me I was just like sick before coming to the states and then I had to like make a
Trip to Sweden and and all sorts of other stuff and I was so busy um and and I had some Visa problems and and then I finally got the ticket here and I was so like uh excited to play disc golf and and I won my first
Event but um I don’t know now it’s sort of like oh my gosh I’m so tired it’s a tight course uh I feel like you just have to be super focused and um accurate here uh a little bit of luck is required also on some of the t- shots I feel like
Uh they are pretty tight um I I love that you can throw a lot of forehand here I I’ve been feeling very comfortable with the forehand so I do like the course it’s it’s going to be an interesting week Kristen Tatar confident in the forehand that’s a scary statement for
The rest of the field but there’s a lot more to talk about we’re going to talk the winningest player at this event Paige Pierce after a quick commercial break [Applause] [Applause] Pdj reinvest membership funding in to support for programs like the competition endowment Youth and education program and Marco Polo program all of which help grow the sport in communities around the world get started today visit pj.com jooin hi everyone I’m Dez reading Hall of Famer so excited
With my new Signature Series disc the goat I use the goat for all sorts of shots the big open field heisers with some Annie with that strong flex and reliable face or on those windy days when you need that confidence de level it’s going to slay that headwind the goat get out and
Throw welcome back if you didn’t hear Microsoft teams is presenting the 2024 preserve championship and offering a new community platform for disc golf fans scan the QR code on your screen to join the disc golf tour talk teams community members will have until Monday to ask
Paige Pierce a question for a chance to win a Discraft disc Paige will be answering questions in that Community next week Paige has won this event four times she is the winningest major champion at this event Nate what do you make of Paige Pierce this season is it still just
Recovering from the injury what do you make of it yeah I I got a good look at her last week during that opening round and I I don’t want to put all the blame on the ankle because I I feel like it’s healed enough that it it’s not affecting
Her in every single shot there are some situations on some you know lean out shots or some straddle putts where you can tell that the the she’s timid and doesn’t want to put all the weight there but what I’ve noticed is that the timing is just not there she she doesn’t have
That same Cadence on the teapad that we’re used to seeing she has this this moment in her final step where she’s kind of in that guessing game right there she guessed correct on the putter but when she’s not guessing correct she’s late releasing and that’s the common Miss and then when she tries
To overcorrect that in the middle of the round she’s going inside inside she’s not hitting her spots where we’re used to seeing she’s not in the same routine that she was a couple years ago when she dominated this event in California I believe she averaged 1015 or something
Through the four round tournament she just isn’t the same page Pierce right now and that that doesn’t mean that she she can’t find it but when you take someone that is out of sync with their backhand Cadence and you put them on a course where you have to hit Gap after
Gap it can get pretty messy and when you’re not fully confident it’s just it’s hard to really change that in the moment well they I I think with injuries there’s there’s some Nuance to it as well yeah you might not be feeling terrible like you said but there is a
Guess in game is this going to hurt when I throw this shot I think players with elbow and shoulder injuries can say the exact same thing sometimes you have to make it hurt for the to actually be worth it own Scoggins was saying that last year if she wasn’t following
Through all the way she was missing the putt but if she was following through all the way it would hurt so I think it’s something like that that’s in the back of Paige’s head right now again we’re not going to read her mind but I think as a champion she knows how to
Make these adjustments out here the putter is coming out of her hand really really well so looking forward to see if she can make a comeback early on this season as she does recover let’s move on though we have another player who is shooting really hot right now it is it’s
Been a European season so far Nicholas Angela getting the big win last week evina Solon starting out the season strong at chess.com this was just an incredible showing for her yeah I mean and this is the type of course where we’re not really going to see a lot of
Distance putting carrying players into you know the the podium like we’re going to see players that are hitting Fairways and their their TD Green stats that’s where the Strokes are really going to be gain out here and there’s still no one in the division that does that better
Than evina when I see a nasty staggered Gap out there in the 340 range I just I have full faith that evina is going to get that make3 through the center of that Gap bra Nate Nate well there’s there’s multiple par 3es in this course over 300 feet again there’s eight par
3es out here and evina has an advantage on a few of them to throw that power late flipping turnover where some of the sidearm players or players that have to Club up to a distance driver might have a little bit more struggle on so looking forward to see how she does this week
But Nate as we close things out in Tournament Central and put it out there on the ground it’s perks picks time week number three Nate what is the first discussion okay well is on Skin’s going to finish in the top two that’s really tough there are over 100 competitors
This week but I’d be shocked I’m going to go yes on Scoggins first or second this week I I I’m going to say yes as well I mean I know like you said it’s a crazy gamble to say one or two for own but she looks really comfortable on this
Course and last week it was almost comical how good she was playing even closing out the event Nate what’s coming up next so the scramble percentage of a specific player will Missy Ganon scramble better or worse than 45% I personally feel like scrambling is difficult at this course if you’re off
The Fairway there’s a chance that you’re potentially out of bounds scrambling is going to be hard I’m going to go worse than 45% on the week I’m going to say she’s going to be over 45% for the week because of the fact that she’s throwing the disc really well right now I think
She said putting was one of the bigger uh mishaps for her last week uh so I think she’s going to hit a lot of Fairways and the thing is the rough is thick but that also means you can get kicked back to the middle of the Fairway
Just as easily as you get taken into it so I think it’s going to be her week on the scramble side Nate what’s the final decision longest fpo throwin over or under 215 ft man we’ve seen some sweet throwi inss over the years but I’m going
Under 215 ft this week well Nate I have to disagree with you I’m licking my chops looking at hole number 17 someone is going to drop a Hiser in the basket on that hole but really I don’t care what hole it’s on there you go week three perks picks complete Tournament
Central complete round r one about to begin at the 2024 us women disc Championship can’t believe you’re up next stay turning uhoh oh no wow inbounds that’s exactly she unbelievable what is the simplest way to improve your disc golf game the answer learn from the very best Paul ulber Simon Lazar Ezra

So what are you waiting for join today at pdga.com [Applause] We had more unique winners on the tour than we’ve ever had in Christen tar still won every single Major Welcome to Austin Texas as we kick off our first PDGA major of the 2024 season the top women in the world will attack the new sprinkle Valley course in hopes of hoisting the trophy for the United States women’s disc golf championships presented by Mint Disc on Scoggin coming off in a toric performance just a few days ago here in Texas taking down the Elite Series event trying to capture the major welcome in everyone I’m Terry Miller joined alongside fortime world champion Hall of Famer Valerie Jenkins also 2018 putting world champion in Zoe
Andik Val we just saw own the arrival no one has more fun out there on the course it seems like but how do you come back how do you follow up the weekend she just had well it’s a good feeling and I expect own to use that momentum I mean
She was locked in last weekend shooting the highest rated round she has ever seen the highest rated round we’ve ever seen in history of Foo division she has such a competitive Drive she has fun on the course but she likes to play well and so this course I
Think is going to set up really nicely for own and if she’s having fun she’s playing good and I expect to see her at the top again and Zoe we talk about the fun we talk about the competitive competitiveness how does she put it all together this weekend what do you expect
You know Terry I think about last weekend in those woods we are still in Texas not very far from where she just put down such a just groundbreaking weekend not just one round but all three rounds in the woods so accurate showing us that she has placement she has plenty
Of distance doesn’t need to do anything crazy but just continue to be consistent through these Woods she should set herself up for a nice weekend at this major we know that her putter rarely fails her as we take a look back at some of the highlights from round two last
Weekend putting required there for Scoggins and just absolutely parking so many shots but then you see putts like this from distance that just never left the chains and on is a very accurate player she knows how to hit Landing zones she relies on her disc and she can hit those
Full flights I mean that’s as accurate as you can get hitting the basket and there was really no giving up or letting up I should say by own at any point she just continued to pile on see a huge margin of Victory and what a weekend for Scoggin as we remain in
Texas we she see if she can keep things rolling and if we look at the average rating from last weekend she set a new record unofficially at that 1029 average we look at a few prior records Paige pierce with the 10:24.5 at the US Women’s event Jonesboro in 2024 by
Pierce Scoggin at the Phoenix ladies open a couple years ago and Paige at the 2020 Memorial few other story lines that we’ll be looking at this week as we were just talking own Scoggin coming off of the highest rated event in Elite Series or major history Kristen tots are making
Trying to make history again with a win Kristen can become the first FP player to win six straight majors of course capturing all four of those in a row last year in 2023 and a a new era Paige Pierce in 13th and Katrina Allen in 14th
Are both outside of the top 10 of tour standings for the first time since 2016 we’ll see if either or both of them can maybe kind of write some of those wrongs and get on track here this weekend they’ve both had very rough starts obviously Paige coming off injury from
Last year and we see Katrina Allen is expecting later this year but both of them still have had their struggles and very odd in fact to see them outside of the top 10 and Holland Hanley has become your solo leader with this pot birdie look on 12 very impressive start there for Hanley and including a bounce back quickly negating the one blemish he’s had on the scorecard So currently Hanley is your outright leader at 5 under and we’ll be doing more scrolling than normal we’re used to seeing 40 maybe 50ish women at most of our Elite
Series events 102 fpo competitors in the field that’s historic in itself and this is the first time that we’re seeing competitive rounds out here on this course and to see that Holland sitting at 5 under par is incredibly impressive we know that she’s finishing off her round now that’s going to be a
Great score if she can finish off cleanly and down on the ground this weekend we’re going to hear from Nate Perkins and he’s sounds like he’s catching up with the PDGA own Rebecca Duffy what do you guys got for us well Rebecca I wanted to ask you about this venue and how accommodating
It’s been for this week’s event um it has been so amazing uh this this local uh organizing committee has joined up with Austin Beer Works and all the parks department and they have been so welcoming to all these ladies and they were been they’ve been preparing for
Months uh to get this venue up and running if anybody out there wants to B on a major and they want somebody to talk to you need to talk to Austin Beer Works in the parksart around here because they have really stepped it up very cool and is this event related to
The the women’s Global event or is that its own thing coming up in May women’s Global event is its own thing of course it’s related because it’s uh women’s only and women’s only Global event happens in the weekend of May 18th and 19th if you haven’t planned a tournament
For the women’s Global please get on pj.com and go to the women’s Global page it will walk you through if you’re a firsttime TD uh find a TD out there that’s already doing a wge and uh just Shadow them or get their advice on running a tournament because
We want as many women to be able to sign up in any region that they are in so uh women’s Global May 18th May 19th all right Rebecca thanks so much and let’s get out there and get that front row seat to the sprinkle Valley course it’s like the perfect area to
Hang out CH Holland Hanley your solo leader at 5 and take a short break we come back and get to the action hi everyone I’m Dez reading Hall of Famer so excited with my new Signature Series disc the goat I use the goat for all sorts of shots the big openfield

Feature card of the day getting ready to go here in just a moment Welcome to our feature card for the 2024 United States women’s disc golf championships presented by i m discs first on the box from Los Angeles California representing Inova Champion disc please welcome o [Applause] SC and we’re going see a common theme around this representing Champion please welina [Applause] Salin yeah money from bass drop Texas representing M dis and well saxs please welcome Chrissy [Applause] Fountain yeah that work very well come on yeah from Beacon New York representing Discraft and well saxs please welcome Missy [Applause]
Gon that’s a good nickname to have to get you some positive feelings on the te of one mhm oh yeah you think that’s a beautiful kick for Missy get they’ll move down on one now we’ll catch up with Katrina Allen on the T of 17 and much of this course is in the
Thick woods but when we get out to these finishing holes this is when things start to open up and there is a lot of out of bounds oh rolls inbounds for a second and stays out Katrina will go to the Drop Zone after an OBT shot take a look at Katrina’s scorecard
Picking up birdies in the middle section there on 5 six and seven and trying to close things out as we said heading to 17 from the Drop Zone likely a bogey coming up for her there we see her at two overp par currently has her in a tie for 28th not sure she’ll want to watch that Replay that was heartbreaking to see by Katrina Allen it came in short where it was going to be out of bounds but then it barely after a second bounce gives a rail slide gets inbounds and then ultimately comes back out you must come
To rest inside of the island green she hasn’t done that so she’ll go to the drop zone drop zone right around 77 ft or so so just outside of circle 2 we’ll see how aggressive she wants to be but now back with Scoggin and now we can see
Just how helpful that kickout that Missy Ganon and her disc was and own’s not able to get out clean she finds the Fairway but still has a lot of work to do me I hate to say it but I think that’s going to be a common theme today I think
We’re going to see that as all of our competitors try to work through this course and learn exactly where their lines are scrambling is going to be crucial and seeing a shot like that I don’t think will be all too surprising is that 2 met in the effect no oh
Okay own clarifying if two meters is in is in effect or not and that’s going to alter her decision it looks like to go up and over and this might be something we see quite often on this course because it is so thickly wooded if you go up and over
I mean things really open up over those trees I love that and that was a pretty impressive shot for not ever having practiced it asking if the 2 met rule was in effect own throws a very knifey overhand on a forehand line lands takes a roll and she’s outside of the
Circle Fountain is just outside of circle 2 so a little less than 80 ft to the pin and just to clarify for a moment anyone wondering what in the world are you guys talking about with that 2 meter essentially a rule a tournament can determine if they want a penalty stroke
Added anytime a player is above of 2 m while they’re playing and that can be for a specific hole that can be on a specific tree that could be for an entire course or tournament uh players uh excuse me the tournament directors have those opportunities awarded in that
They can choose if that rues in effect and throughout this entire tournament it is not a lovely patent penting pending shot for Missy Ganon Landing right in the middle of the Fairway tastes the same that’s awesome that’s cool yeah Hanley coming off the birdie a while ago is still waiting here in real
Time looks like she’s ready but not sure the rest of the group are the competitors in front of her are either and we were talking about about scrambling I think it is going to be so crucial to have all the shots in your bag you need to be a strong hand
Backhand thrower and you need to be able to throw a sidearm that was an impressive shot from where she was yeah that camera angle before the shot completely lends its view to just how thick these Woods are and how scrambling is 100% you called it Val gonna be the
The skill and the tool today although ev’s Drive was the farthest it was almost too farist along with fiance silver on the bag now we head back to 17 with Ella Hansen and like you’ll see on a lot lot of these t- shot there is a distinct
Sidearm or backhand route or Gap righty or Lefty if you will Ella lands it in the circle for a birdie attempt 17 is going to be difficult all day long we’re going to see some Drop Zone putts somewhat of a roller coaster round here for Ella to get things
Started however somewhere leveling out around even for the moment we’re going to see that she has a birdie look on 17 18 so dangerous uh I’m already thinking ahead as what that’s going to look like come Sunday brutal finishing hole as we see Chrissy with her birdie attempt right
Next to the pin that should be a tap in par now back with Hansen and the birdie Lu just off the mark on the left hand side do have to say I like Ella’s new putting Rhythm and routine but that one she’s just off the center of the mark she’ll
Have to settle for the Par so own is deep with her attempt there and we’ll see if she’s obstructed coming back here’s Ganon dead center what a start for Missy Ganon let’s roll the zuka replay first one of the weekend and it won’t be her last Ganon from 40 feet on the
Mark So aina’s birdie attempt just to the [Applause] right and on had the open gap which actually to me was a little bit of luck wasn’t able to close the deal we’re going to see a common theme on most of these greens trees are inside of the circle
And long of the basket is natural rough so rough start for Scoggin with a double bogey should be two over avalina tapping in here for par and the stress free par for the local Chrissy fountain that are marked with red Kristen starts her title defense on the other side of the
Break my relationship with Suka it’s just like a family sometime they just surprise send me thing I’m not even know when I arrive home Boom the Box such a great product and zuka is always there for me whenever I need anything after every tournament I get a call no matter
The results they’re always there supporting me they have so many different things that can be a solution for a disc offer that was really one of the main reasons why we partnered is because I wanted the best of the best how do they know I want that I’m like
Duh that’s how the family thinking about You Pdj reinvests membership funding into support for programs like the competition endowment Youth and education program and Marco Polo program all of which help grow the sport in communities around the world get started today visit pj.com Jooin The United States women’s Disc Golf Championship is presented by Mint dis stat mint and it’s of course merch Madness that’s exactly what we would expect here make sure you head on over to the dgpt Pro Shop man look at all of those deals when you spend $100 get 10% off and the deals
Only increase they ramp up throughout the entire month March 21st through the 24th spend you some $400 get some uh big old discounts I like it put that in your bracket Terry I can’t be the only one that wasn’t thinking you were talking about cat merch Madness uh cat merch does bring
The madness I feel like week in and week out it doesn’t matter the month but we know that she’s here for it did you have any other sponsors you missy Ganon TF2 I like the height she keeps it low Landing in the center of the Fairway that is a controlled
Shot I’m going safe to say any shot that lands down the center of the Fairway is going to be a success every t-shot is so technical here in the woods and the woods are thick we mentioned this is a newer course I think it’s been in for
About a year but they have done some incredible work to carve out these holes but those woods they haven’t been beaten down quite enough so you just you want to stay out of them as much as possible and the skips I’m expecting to see a lot of those on these beautifully
Manicured Fairways that are just all wood chips from all the trees that they’ve knocked down to create these holes now we’re with Holland Hanley who’s currently our leader of the evento pull to the right side we’re going to take a look at our Cana current conditions where the temperature 60°
Humidity up to 92% very light and low winds however somebody who’s out on the ground experiencing it all in real time Nate Perkins Nate what are you feeling out there yeah it’s starting to sprinkle just a bit out here at sprinkle Valley I feel like you get a little bit of a reprieve
From how light the rainfall is when you’re in the canopy of these juniper trees and I feel like this terrain is a little bit better suited for wet conditions this week because of all the mulch from all the work they’ve been doing out here so I don’t think we’re
Going to see a lot of the mud like we saw last week if it does continue to rain today and the wind is down so I imagine the scoring conditions are pretty well even with a little bit of rain yeah such great Insight I know in the last few events where we’ve had
Struggles with Muddy conditions and things getting very slippery that mulch will have a very different interaction with our players yep we talked about that earlier sometimes if you’re out of position just playing for the pitch out is what we’ll see and that’s exactly what Holland was forced to do
There I’ll give her a shorter look not kicking into the Trees Too Much ho two is a very short par for uh just over 500 ft so it only takes a couple two 250 240t shots to get to the pin but you’ve got to navigate all these
Trees it starts by this Landing Zone EV is in good position oh this has a chance to skip up and in oh comes up just short but a good shot there by evina and after battling some health injuries and getting herself back into form we’re seeing Kona Montgomery for the first
Time here in 2024 great to see her back on the tour and she’s on the island on 17 that was not the window that I saw I completely was shocked by that last minute adjustment to take the inside route and just again doing own things flexing around those trees she came in
Hot and deep of the pin Holland third after pitching out into the Fairway our final feature card should be teeing off here any moment now whole 10’s T isn’t too far from one so they might be standing down for just for an additional moment before they get
Kicked off or back with Ganon on two just a little more power and that has such a great line it’s not often we see full Flex Circle two or Fairway putting attempts um even done well and Missy just has that skill in her bag that was a really good looking distance
Putt I’m thinking about a lot of these basket placements and greens you know there’s not a ton of sloping greens there’s a lot of opportunities to be aggressive on the on the putting green you’ve done all the work down the Fairway to get close to the pin there’s
A lot of chances to just give it a run and the third or excuse me Holland putting it right next to the basket like she’s going to be tapping in for bogy United States women’s this golf championships this is our feature card first of the box from pter new
Estonia representing latitude 64 please welcome Christen to all of my Finland representing Inova Champion Des please welcome [Applause] hus [Applause] [Applause] from Charlotte North Carolina representing Inova Champion desk please please welcome Haley [Applause] King all right Wai for that perfect chion please welcome C [Applause] merch I didn’t miss it though miss it and that’s what really matters that’s what matters and finding the positives right off the bat on this first te that is a triple man the Spring Valley sign
Cat hits the left side and just barely squeaks in and a big putt coming there from Rebecca Cox that’s going to be our NAA moment Rebecca Cox from way deep powered by NAA lifestyle power oh what was I saying about big putts saving yourself on the green when
You could see the basket you called it Val Rebecca’s working so the fact that she did make the mandatory that means that saving her at least a stroke missing the mandatory you would go from that drop zone that teapad right in front of her oh this is
Trouble and early released out of her house hands straight toward the left side rough and she only really needed about 240 250 ft just to get to The Landing Zone there but just an early early release and evina will open up with back toback bars now this year I haven’t it’s not
Like she changed her putting style but she just is more confident as she steps up to the putt she’s even taking her time to kind of get that rhythm going so great to see evina putting so well and on has found her Mark immediately after the double bogey six
Cleaning up with a birdie she’s back online [Applause] although she didn’t get that extra skip to the right or the fade to the right she’ll have an upshot from there and I don’t even think with the additional few feet forward it wouldn’t have really made too much of a difference it’s
Really tough to get mirror Circle to from way far back like she was merch throwing her third come on oh wow throwing the most aggressive shot she possibly could right at the thick woods and coming up right into Circle 2 that was Brave aggressive and well executed and maybe a little
Lucky she’ll have a chance to save the par now scogin on the tf3 she’s pulled this one to the right but gets lucky to somehow get back out into the Fairway she’s going to be on the left side long look for birdie now Rebecca Cox who is our
Tournament leader on the island t-shot of 17 looking to to extend the lead what a shot by Rebecca I think Rebecca is going to be thankful that she’s finishing up the round today as the weather rules in and the wind and maybe some more of this rain conditions certainly won’t get
Better at this point as you’re saying and so impressive to see what uh we’ve had for birdie looks on 17 thus far cuz that hole’s only going to get tougher I think as the weekend rolls on considering how calm it is today and what a shot by Ganon inside the bullseye on
Three just perfectly using every bit of Fairway on the right hand side just narrowly missing that tree then playing for the skip thank you what a shop I Canon so the best drive that we’ve seen is right here with Haley King maybe just a little bit too far but she has had the
Best view of the basket with her second shot pulls that one tight to the left side so King looking like a par at best now Aina on three very similar line to Missy and a pretty similar result just outside of the bullseye Elina trying to pick up a
Birdie it’s going to be plenty of decision making and contemplation throughout this entire weekend because often they will be faced with being just barely out of position then trying to find the perfect line to the basket or something that might get them close enough to then set up for a good pot
That is exactly the case here for Kristen and just inside the circle she’ll have a par look to get started there are going to be so many of those stand still upshots or stand still try to get yourself back to the Fairway type of shots and really unfortunate Haley was
Not able to take advantage of that great Drive this is the setup for par and just outside of the bullseye so Holland was our leader moments ago until hole number 13 where she had a double bogey the ton 14 gets caught up that was really good almost saving that par after two very
Errant first shots and a huge third and that birdie by Rebecca Cox will bring her to six under as she’s birdied six of the last seven just on fire currently your lead clear of the rest of the field by two or More yeah good evina puts her first Birdie on the scorecard Canon off to a great start two under through the first three this is Kristen to save par very nice yeah being 280 ft that is a must get birdie Holland missing the boat on that One priston is in for the bogey after we saw the par by King par by henna and a bogey by merch so our card playing whole one at two over for the group Ganon on 14 excuse me whole four and this has plenty of spin on it to get
All the way up to the basket this is a 360t hole whereas the last one was only 300 ft both navigating through a very tight Fairway but that was a shot that set up evina for the birdie attempt if my math is right the division has not seen a birdie here on hole
Number four today so evina may be the first we saw Rebecca Cox with just an onfire back nine so far currently sitting at six under just whole 18 to play Natalie Ryan Holland Hanley both sitting at three under Ganon and Texas’s own Lisa fakas both sit at two when asked during the press
Conference yesterday Haley said if if there was a number that she thought might win it and she said she could see 30 under being that number at the end of the weekend so Rebecca Cox uh currently on that pace I would say that what is at
7 and2 underpar per round so seems like that prediction by Haley checks out at the moment if she continues to throw shots like that it’s going to be very difficult to beat her finding the line and then putting it with so much speed and Authority is going to be so useful on a
Course like this because if you hit that Gap uh you’re avoiding so many of the obstacles so much of the rough and the challenges that is found on the early part of the hole here where you’re just having to pitch out and that is a world of hurt for Haley King
Exactly what you were just talking about Terry a world of hurt first available and it could just be a Pitch out from there she’s going to like this that is a gorgeous shot if it could just stay right there in the middle she is right near henna
When I was walking through this course so many shots lined up for the sidearm a lot of left to right fading holes placement shots you just have to make sure you get through clean and it sounds like cat merch is hung up on the left and I can’t help but think that
That was due to her her body squared up to that left side wasn’t a late release she actually let go exactly when her body was squared up she just wasn’t running towards the Fairway Gap well done on approved right there parked in the bullseye I remember we play world and
Somebody under the that thing so they have to put like so she’s talking about a some story somebody throwing underneath a bridge and in that case that’s the rule of verticality where you can play Above The Bridge Terry I think every event kind of determines where the playing
Surface is and what that’s deemed as uh sometimes you see bridges that are actually out of bounds or the spot underneath every every situation is a little bit different every bridge is a little bit different yeah we’ll cross that bridge when we get there that’s
What I I would tell him let’s take a look at some of our previous Majors held here in Texas Val Valerie Jenkins last time we saw a major in Texas you had taken it down the 2011 usw dgc 2002 world’s Des reading who you guys heard from last weekend winning in
Houston and Becky Powell in Port Arthur and Elan King in Port Arthur back-to-back World Championships held here in ’94 and 95 to my Rec election that’s the only time we’ve seen worlds held in the exact same place backto back years done in in ’94 and 95 two
Different winners but Val you left here A Champion good feelings here in Texas and the last time that women’s Nationals was held here it was actually at a a few different Courses we were just mentioning evelina’s putting stroke looking so solid I think the excitement for this birdie attempt just got her going we’ve seen her take a little more time on putts than what she just did and it was some early releasees all evina comes back with a confident
Putting stroke she’ll walk away still with the par let’s hope she can limit that lapse there just to that one hall now king during her third can she get through to get up with a par look and the answer is yes that might be obstructed on the right side
Just off of the green but Haley King will at least have a chance to save the par that was a f fantastic throw the fact that she was able to put that much height underneath the sidearm to allow it to have that full flight a little
More turn and she would have been right under the pin God I feel like I’ve been in this position too much already and what hole are we on yeah second hole and she’s been doing some scrambling and this is going to continue really cat trying to identify a few too
Many of the trees out here and mental toughness patience that’s going to be the two really key factors all four rounds out here on this really thickly wooded course you know some days you’ve got it some days you’re just a little bit offline and when you’re pressing some sometimes you can
Actually apply too much pressure to yourself to get through clean and we’re seeing it on the second hole little bit of frustration out of Merch this maybe one of the better shots we’ll see this weekend on hole number two off this te stand still for henna and that’s going to track to the
Pin what a great shot she is so good at throwing those stand still turnovers with such accuracy and and power if she needs to get a full powerful shot she can do that standing still flashbacks of 17 we’ll check back in with them a little bit now Kristen
Actually got more distance but we felt like the drive we saw by Hanah sacrificing those 10 or 15 ft for a better position uh was perfectly fine with her Kristen still has a good opportunity though to get up and down just going to rely on the forehand and play for a
Skip and she gets the skip right next to the basket perfect release height and stability on the disc Choice excellent shot should be a birdie for Kristen which would bring her back to even par and Missy opting for the turnover left left side line here it’s when I was
Looking at this hole yesterday I thought it is going to be a distinct 50/50 of who’s going to take that high right side and who will take that lower left turnover or forehand line he does well with that we saw the backand no surprise from Missy moments ago here on this t-shot
Now evina she’s going to take the same Lane but going with beforehand this can get back out to the Fairway with a little assistance she’s going to love that that’s exactly where you want to be just beating that last bent over tree and getting into the
Middle Ed L canning it on hole number 16 in fact that’s the first Birdie the division has seen on hole number 16 so hey de L doing some work on will go up the left side with the forehand and although it kicks down it stays safe
Of the OB that OB on the right side comes into play very very quickly Hanah looking to take advantage of the incredible drive that she had a solid approach shot sets her up inside 20 ft for Birdie on too just lacking about one or two spin rotations for him’s putt you see the
Disappointment that’s too short and low released putts for her [Applause] now so constant scrambling here by merch has left her with backto back bogeys to open the round Kristen trying to fight back to even para birdie here will do so just in these first two holes I mean what they’re already score separators
Each player is having their own battle with these first two holes that we’re playing it all comes down to that t-shot and how you set yourself Up Hole two played at 4.71 on the day now not once but twice escaping OB for on she’s taken two early tree hits and just managed to land barely in bounds and Rebecca Cox as we said six birdies in the last seven Hol she’s waiting on 18 I was talking about it earlier 18
Just a brutal hole to finish on this course think we may see two or three groups on that hole at any given time very difficult par five to close out wow and Chrissy Fountain tracking right to the pin Bullseye hit that was from still behind the tree completely pinched off excellent
Shot Prime position for Solin to attack she follows it up successfully from what we just saw from Chrissy now Ganon just a few feet closer than salonin not sure that the line that’s the line she wanted but a favorable kick as well so Ganon will have a look for
Birdie we’re going to take a look at Val’s Keys brought To Us by blacking disc.com the premium disc golf store well I think shot selection is going to be really important of what you choose on the te are you going to go with the backhand turnovers or a sidearm you know
How aggressive do you want to be on those t- shots because Fairway hits you want to make sure you’re giving yourself a good opportunity for the rest of the hold and hitting the Fairway and staying out of those very treacherous wooded lining every single hole out here
Scramble rate I’m expecting to see that pretty high for our players who are having to fight their way through the course you know how greedy again are you going to get or do you want to play it safe pitch out and get yourself back into the game it’s almost like a double Mando
Right off of this t- shot and Kristen pulls it right she knew immediately out of her hand that she had done so favorable kick there is still a chance for her to save par from there we’ve seen successful shots here on two and we’ll add henna to the list excuse me on whole
Three haly to circle’s Edge you could see just how close ‘s disc was halfway over the OB line there that was pretty disc selection for cat putting a move on it just a wed a flower I like it genon in for birdie what a start for Missy three of the first
Five this is an absolute beautiful time of year to be down here in Austin Texas everything is Greening up here in the spring the wild flowers are going off this course is just glowing that is not a great upshot from Kristen yeah early release or else lacking a little bit of that anheiser
Angled tilt whether it’s one or the other Kristen is outside of the circle and we’ll have to work for this CL and this has to be playing as one of the easiest holes on the course so this is a this is a treacherous second shot you can see those those stands of
Railroad ties that are obstructing that open right side which forces the player to make a decision whether going to throw a forehand or a smaller Hiser but they still have to land in bounds this entire Fairway is lined with obes And after own TAPS in for the par we see evina in for the birdie Chrissy should do the same Kristen an attempt to save par on three oh and she buries it what a save again this is one of the easier holes on this course and Kristen having to
Work after a bad Drive uh not a great up shot but a stellar putt well if you want us to roll auka replay you’ve got to do something special like that that’s exactly what we saw from Kristen good par save as we head over to Haley
King and just scooping out on the short left side this is right there in that tester Zone this is not a drop in putt but this is a putt that you should be hitting on the regular this is going to be something that henna is going to think about a little bit
Longer and this one connects so henna taking advantage as you call the valve the easiest hole on the course currently averaging 2.79 there’s really only two holes that are averaging under par and this is one of them [Applause] So King will tap in for par opportunity missed on the easy hole Three well this guy taking advantage of every opportunity get on a mic big germ he’s out there you can tune in to the Joes cast Live on YouTube over on the Joes Channel believe him and maybe Brian arheart are out there giving you guys alternative commentary so if you’d like
That I won’t take any offense to it germ you know he does his thing he’s pretty entertaining yeah we’ll go with that but I personally like the live action myself I like hearing the female perspective from the two of you as well feel much more special germ hasn’t won a usw dgc
Val here in the booth has won multiple titles as Missy Ganon finds the edge of the bullseye this is a blind t-shot slightly uphill the fact that they are hitting the line perfectly and the speed short of the pin and allowing the disc to skip up to the basket just outstanding shots Cynthia
Riotti to throw her a approach on 18 and once you get up over that hill climbing those stairs it’s about 60 ft wide the kind of Landing Zone the rest of the Fairway that continues to the basket so it really tightens up as you finish off on
18 there plenty of room for that anheiser flight but she just doesn’t hit the Gap and if you’re throwing that anheiser line you need to make sure that you’re continuing to finish to the right any shot that Fades out and goes to the left you’re having to putt through some
Pretty thick Woods oh that was Co don’t do that see that’s a a fine spot to land on the right hand side you’re going to have a a more open look at a putt and maybe more importantly C merch has thrown back-to-back drives on three and four
And not hit any trees so certainly making some adjustments after the struggles on one and two here’s Kristen just beautiful up the center line of the Fairway the entire time just making that slow right hand turn not too far off the ground very controlled and aggressive I think one of the keys out
Here will be if you’re when you’re throwing these drives the lower they are the less chance they have to Ricochet way off of the Fairway we see how much higher this shot is coming from Haley she was leaking hard to the left had that not hit a late tree she would have
Been even more off the Fairway when you look at Kristen coming in just six or 8 or 10 ft off the ground if it does connect with a tree gets to the ground much quicker Solon three of the first six and knowing how Rebecca Cox who was our leader finished off the back nine with six birdies I mean look at what we’ve got Elina and Missy shooting right now on the front nine a lot of potential we’ve got a dancing queen out there it looks like
So as you’re looking at the top of the stairs we we marked it last night from the top of that stairs to the pin you’re looking at almost exactly 150 ft so that’s what we’re going to see from Rebecca work as she is near there but
She’s not going to have a very clear swing great round going at 6 under through 17 and Missy off to a hot start if Missy and evina can keep this up only being on hole six with a four and a three down it’s going to be
Exciting to see if they can get over that 7 under maybe even up to 8 under Mark again it’s going to take that consistency off the te and those placements giving yourself the opportunity on this tightly wooded course and a with a clean shot out of the
Woods you don’t peer a gap any better than that do you that’s gorgeous absolutely just peered it and probably better than most players drew it up oh and Cat merch off the pole Koozie terrible reaction by the disc I mean she hits the pin and now she’s at
The back of the circle she’s got some work to do to clean it up that merch has had her share of throwin and that was online needed more height Kristen a birdie look from Circle two that was looking pretty good as soon as she released it it was right online
Just didn’t have enough height and you know my only notes for whole four was Elite birdie we saw two competitors in King and tatara that had the attempt there would have loved to see one of those cash in but it is going to be a rare occurrence on the entire
Weekend at 360 ft when you’ve still got to work the angle of the disc that’s going to make that roll away hurt even more and I can’t help but think if she would have just held her follow through for a half a second or longer
That might have had a chance to get up over the cage but just kind of pulled back really quickly yeah that always is the case a short putt just means you didn’t have that full reach and full power extension Kristen for par Hanah for par [Applause] so the lone bogey comes from merch you have Jordan Lind on the T of 17 Basket hunting and right inside the buy great shot for Jordan and she needs this to get left I liked the height right out of her hand but got to see that disc turning left not too
Far off the shots only only takes about 250 ft to get to The Landing Zone Rebecca with 150 to the pin nice executes it perfectly what a solid round here for Rebecca Cox to open things up first of four rounds at this PDGA major here’s Solin In what a back nine for Rebecca Cox looking pretty stagnant in the front nine coming out even par and then she really turned it on it’s impressive to see on a course that’s around 4 and half to 5 hours to play in competitive Play It’s really keeping your mind and your
Mental game in it and your energy I mean you’ve got a plan ahead for the proper snacks the proper hydration and to turn it on in the back like that six down is the leader bar set in the clubhouse yeah and after we watch missy I’ll be excited
To check in with Perkins to talk a little bit about those scores that we’re seeing as six is the hottest round so far here’s Ganon throwing her second a good shot by Missy keeping it clean and Perkins yesterday we were talking about you know scores and what
We might see for a total at the end of the weekend any insight or adjustments to those numbers yeah it’s tough to to say with this front it’s just playing so difficult if you’re you know not feeling confident in your gaps you’re going to have a really tough time out here at
Sprinkle Valley and teads are just slick enough competitors are you know checking their feet before they throw and when that’s the last thing you’re thinking of whether or not you’re going to slip it’s hard to hit these gaps so those are some impressive scores today and if you look
The majority of the field is well overpar and that is out of bounds for Haley going with that right side Gap and that’s what we heard from our course preview yesterday when we were talking with Stephanie Vincent if you go to the left side you’re more likely to be
Taking that OB out of play I mean you could still get a nasty kick but just trying to avoid the OB going up this left side Gap seems to be the safer route even if you do hit just as we saw there by cat that wasn’t going to carry
Far enough to the right to find the OB even if it did kick that way and when I was standing on this teapad it was so apparent that the left hand Gap was more favorable I’m actually kind of shocked to see players going on that rightand route it is a very tight
Window to hit and you’re trying to throw it with full power good forehand by Aina it wouldn’t be crazy to me to have Haley R and then go up the left side just a thought while taking a look at this position Terry I can’t help but
Agree more with you uh Nate would is what does Haley have here that’s a tough lie I think ring isn’t necessarily the better option she’s got a skinny window to get it up into the original intended Landing Zone looks like she’s gonna do just that she can put so much spin on the
Disc with from a standstill without even a run up that was a great shot for Haley of course after a terribly bad luck kick into OB off the teapad yeah thinking ahead if you see a player get pinched off or maybe pinched back a little bit more a ret would be
Maybe more practical but as Nate called it good shot there by Haley of forehand puts her in position here’s Scoggins long par look and a little bit of a hill behind the basket we’ll have to see how far her disc trickled down Holland struggling to close out
Remember she was our leader as we are opening today’s broadcast peace and was it low enough to stay short of the OB I don’t think cat merch was intending to lay up there there but I hope that her disc actually was low enough Nate we didn’t see a flag indicator was that
Inbounds or out for cat merch’s approach I’m pretty confident merch is inbounds up there Missy with a birdie luck gets it to fall what a start for Missy Ganon five under through seven Miss’s not worried about a drop off behind the pin full extension straddle putt catching the right hand side
Chains she is looking very solid with the putter today you were mentioning there is a ob that cuts across that Fairway about halfway uh from where Kristen’s throwing to the basket playing as a river not bad inside the circle that was a difficult shot she put
A drastic angle on that too but it was the perfect amount to pan and moments ago when you saw the Miss by Holland that was for her birdie look as now she’s just tapped in for the par Scoggin finds the bottom of the basket for the bogey on seven so pretty slow
Start here for own sitting at two over Hanna is just making some of these holes look so easy just a matter of closing out when she’s getting on the green but terms of dialing them up and and the game plan in which she’s brought it looks
Spoton so evina will pick up a bogey she’ll fall back to two under still overall good start really what a nice it was her third shot uh to land in that position and make easy work of her fourth I was thinking that as well Val just getting herself to that spot seemed
So difficult again from a stand still I’m interested to see if she’ll change up her game plan off the te in the next couple of rounds and we’re seeing Valerie mundano throwing her t- shot on 10 that’s going to be left of the pin merch setting up for par there
The Holland going with a forehand on the TF 17 not a play we’ve seen so far today at least not on coverage she gets caught up on the left side and that’s going to be out of bounds for Hanley she’ll go to the Drop Zone a bogey at best likely
Coming for Hanley unless she converts from 75 ft or so from the drop zone so Hanley at 3 under heading into 17 we’ll probably fall back to two under and this is a theme that we’ll see on a number of the greens out here these spindly kind of pencil trees as we were
Calling them yesterday obviously not very thick but will provide plenty of obstacle and challenge here especially from some of the close range putts that we have and seeing Kristen having to straddle this wide is going to take all her upper body strength to give it the
Power oh my to do that and you called it Val she uses every bit of it right in the heart fantastic putt there’s no way I mean her putter definitely was lined up to go through those trees but nobody’s going to pick that if you just
So happen to touch one of those pencil trees you’re getting kicked out of the circle Haley has a [Applause] lane good connection from henna another one of those distance where you’re thinking a little bit more it’s not a tap in just making the putter work and Kristen to get under par for
The first time in the tournament they’ll move on to the next one meanwhile we’ll take a quick break and be right [Laughter] back [Laughter] Pound’s The Best of the Best it’s the quality the craftsmanship the vision for what a bag could be I don’t think anyone’s disputing that it’s the best made Bag hi everyone I’m Dez reading Hall of Famer so excited with my new Signature Series disc the goat I use the goat for all sorts of shots the big openfield heisers with some Annie with that strong flex and reliable fade or on those windy days when you need that confidence said level it’s

Henna is throwing the disc so well right now from te to Green she has got to have the highest or some of the highest stats it’s incredible and not to be outdone Kristen just past the PIN we’ll take another look felt like she pulled it really close to that right
Side but just enough turnover and then ultimately it flexes back comes in at Pin height and then gets just past the basket out driving the hle favorable kick this time for Merch and Haley the only competitor to go with the forehand she talked about discing up
Yesterday in terms of going with some of her forehand lines maybe adding more speed but slowing herself down overall Scoggins has a birdie look from Circle two [Applause] thank you and sometimes Owen just needs a little bit of that energy in her round to get things going and this is an own
Put if I’ve ever seen one so her double is bogey is followed up by a birdie and now she follows up her bogey with a birdie so bounce back rate on point for own Scoggin let’s see if she can pick up more birdies and Chrissy Fountain finds the bottom of the basket for
Par also a huge save oo I’m getting better at this spin though cat merch continuously finding the positives no matter what if the shot is good or less than desirable she is always looking for the positives you got to point that out it really is helpful
In the round to have the positive mental Outlook a lot of power behind that putt actually too much going over the basket for King she’ll have a putt for par and kind of shocking not to see her hit any metal Haley is such a great putter from that distance this surrounded the pin
Everyone has the birdie look just that who can take advantage of it wow Haley up again King for par how many tournaments have you seen Hal step up to a putt like that and make it look like a drop in I mean she has such great extension she’s very powerful
Putter so to see her Miss twice in a row and this is just such a quiet green intimidating one at that Christen Our Last Hope for the birdie and Christ provides a little glimmer of hope here as we’ seen somewhat of a train wreck on this green [Applause]
After those drives I don’t think we were assuming this card would walk away with an even par as an average score on six after what we saw off the te in fact it was worse than that we had two Bogies excuse me Val mundano with the t- shot on 11 and
The ultimate redirect who talk about kick assist we knew it was going to take some luck as well as a lot of skill Valerie cashing in on the luck Natalie Ryan throwing the approach on 16 and that was after an OB drive so Natalie Ryan trying to get up and down
In safe par Canon will tie the leader at six under after collecting her fourth in a row what a start for genon point out that very funky stance that she had all body weight leaning on the right hand side and she kind of had to put her wrist on
Heiser squeaks it in the cage and she is in a tie for first place name that we’re going to see back out on the tour more frequently here is sananda you saw her at the bottom of that top 10 Kristen TF seven and you will take that all day
Long it is such a good feeling to have a a pure t- shot to stand over that t- shot and know that that’s the line I dreamed up that’s the line I practiced there are two different Lanes you can go the left hand route or the right hand
Route Hanna gets into that grouping of trees right in the center of the Fairway yes good job ladies great right there Owen the ultimate cheerleader as always oh and merch opting for that left route but didn’t get enough flip early enough on that disc she’s cut down early
And very similar to what we saw from Christen a great clean t- shot coming from Haley King I find myself holding my breath hoping that the shot continues clean after an well executed drive and our first look at Canda here in 2024 that’s going to carry
Back into the tunnel so she will be safe OB lines that entire right hand side and merch still be short of what we saw from the drives of Kristen and Haley it doesn’t get much better than that tree kick for Val it’s a dog leg to the right and that’s exactly what our
Disc did but not taking advantage another very well executed standstill shot from henna really like the way she takes her time she does her practice swings takes a breath and lines up her body again throwing the disc so well throughout this entire round so far coming in so that’s not a
And you hear own jokingly calling up ahead to her the card up in front that they are coming in common theme out here could be backups just due to any errant t-shot you know a couple of tree hits it’s going to take a few more minutes to
Get through each one of these holes long rounds out here at 4 and 1 half and 5 hours that looking good great positioning there full power hit the line perfectly she just followed it in with her eyes does not get better than this on a t-shot I mean for Kristen to throw her
Drive that far down the Fairway to line up perfectly with the tunnel and it is a narrow tunnel but you’re right valet just I didn’t know that we were going to see drives in this position can she take advantage no she connects with a right side tree kicks to the left
The and realizing how much of a missed opportunity this is as you guys were calling for it well placed and that’s a look of frustration thinking that she just gave up a huge chance to pick up a birdie and I actually think that she got
A little bit of a slip off of those wood chips you know when we saw henna going with a stand still you take that out of play a great shot there for from cat St still shots are just less to think about cat executed that little run up nicely
But didn’t have to rely on a ton of power like Kristen did wo even with that late tree kick I think it was a well executed shot from Haley after two Mis putts on the previous hole it’s going to be something that she’s going to think
About is this what you get with a VIP spectator pass yeah some support network showing up showing a little love for Haley and that’s almost too far you you start to look at where the pinch point is and where the landing zone is on that particular hole and she’s going to have
A forehand likely on the way back here’s Natalie Ryan teeing on 17 and that was really out of bounds from the get-go so Ryan will be going to the Drop Zone sananda throwing her third so the forehand roller comes out and that will be short
So we’ve seen her make a number of putts where she’s looked confident from long range she’s going to need to dial another one up here anytime you are off the Fairway at this course it just depends on how far but Kristen had to put the roller down
To get the disc skinny enough to get to the Fairway green and then blue right next to it yeah oh shoot I just okay you don’t see a lot of forehand by henna but they’re proving She’s Got the Touch ired and for henna to walk away with a
Par after that t- shot she really put in the work uphill 75 ft and comes up just short a huge missed opportunity for Kristen after that near nearly perfect t- shot as sayand will walk away with a on 11 there’s that smooth swing from Haley that you were talking about Val we’re
Used to seeing that pace and that just very comfortable connection with the basket and she’s found her mark I know moments ago we were questioning maybe a slip but Perkins can you give us a little weather update are The Umbrellas coming down uh there’s less rain than when we
Started I wouldn’t say that I saw Kristen slip she was more just like forced into a shorter run up because of that lie she was backing up into a little mosquite tree had to go short on her final step barely missed the shot inside and then paid the price and
That’s kind of the story of sprinkle Valley so far if you’re barely off your line it could be worse than completely missing your line the rough is dense out here guys appreciate the insight as we’re watching Valerie also put in for the par so after a favorable t-shot Val
Only manages the par Natalie Ryan from the Drop Zone oh that’s and Natalie very much could bring double bogey into play that’ll be a putt from just inside the circle feels like twos or fours are what we usually see on 17 and genon continues to lace the fairways
You can see how important it is to give yourself a look at the opening and put yourself in good position we heard Natalie say way to throw away a good round that double bogey very punishing as oh buries it on nine that was to save par She wants everyone to know this was for par nonetheless it’s going to make the highlight real own Scoggin the jumper from way deep the uphill [Applause] look Taking Flight and bringing it in so there’s some of that momentum from last weekend where she just looked Unstoppable tell me the the last time
You saw someone so excited for a par right as Mundo’s teeing off on 12 hey turning away after she released near perfect drive just a little long she’s going to be outside the circle that’s Elina for par you mention we don’t see the sidearm too often from
Henna it was good form it it wasn’t off by much and that really seems like the most obvious play on that t-shot so not surprising to see her go with it there and Missy Ganon is seven under through nine big money doing big work in the front nine here of the opening
Round struggles for cat merch today and you can’t just shake something like that off I mean you just have to just bear down and and get to work Kristen finding trouble as well and we take a look here at hole number eight and it’s only 300 ft long but the
Fairway is less than 10 ft wide that’s why we’re seeing some early tree hits and some really unfavorable kicks you’ve got to hit the line right off the te or you’re going to be in trouble and again it’s only 300 ft if you do hit the line you’re giving yourself that birdie
Opportunity and we see the players going with the sidearm so they’re hitting the line line throwing it as far as they can before the disc breaks off to that right hand side it’s all about hitting the line if you want to give yourself a putt and we
Know cat did not hit the line she’s short and she hits another tree oh thankfully that last tree kick keeps her in the Fairway she’s going to be outside Circle too and I’m curious to see what if anything Kristen has from this lie her face is
Telling me the story right now just what is where is the gap that kicked incredibly far into the woods and just a few feet in you’re in trouble so this is probably like a wall in front of her I’m guessing Perkins any line on what Kristen has
I doubt she’ll be able to get into Circle one 100 feet at best I would guess and Nate called it absolutely correct there wasn’t much there she was able to get out of the woods though so that’s the first job well done advancing up the Fairway but certainly a score separating
Type of hole just being 300 ft it’s well within the range of the entire division to reach the pin if you get hung up short hit hitting something early you’re struggling to get that par I sense a common theme in the front nine uh approaching the end of that
Front nine holes eight and nine it’s short and completely score separating technical into a daunting longer finishing hole for for both the front and the back nine so many times already in this round henna just putting herself right under the pin from those beautiful standstill shots she’s just got those completely dialed in
Kristen just outside of circle 2 approximately 68 maybe 70 ft this is for par it was online but short Kristen will be picking up a bogey wasn’t much of a chance there for cat just didn’t get the height just going to have that left for
Bogey a little too good and I think the frustration was with just the amount of power she put behind this t- shot and has been inconsistent now I’m going to have to say with the putting we we just saw her off the mark and then find her line to go completely back to
Not hitting metal just maybe not all gathered and and taking her Rhythm and routine all the way in to finish these shots I think this card could use a little of that own energy to maybe waft back uh by a a hole or two to uh change up the
Demeanor here things are a little somber for our final feature card we’ll head over to sananda Missy will head into the back nine seven under really a pace that no one else has even come anywhere close to setting and Missy will have a look for her eighth birdie of the round
Mundano oh she’ll convert on the jumper it’s a very steady round for Val so far and with putts like this that just allows you to kind of all right build some confidence we have a few more technical holes in the back nine but we see a lot more open shots as we finish
Off this course oh that was Jordan Linds with her par look on 18 so she’ll be closing out with a bogey still off to a great finish here good start I should should say a finish to the opening round she’s going to be one under we find her in the top 10
Currently tied for seven it is amazing to see how separate the scores are I mean missan and seven under and still on our leaderboard we have players at one under so six Strokes separating them so far woo and Terry you were talking about the energy and the the vibe on that top
Card this uh second card right here has got the high vibrations going and that’s why evina and Missy even own everyone is playing solid that you’ve got that happy High vibration 290 ft downhill this is an ace looking to happen this weekend Parks it for the birdie evina
And we saw that earlier with avalina Haley in almost the exact same spot you can go too far off of that drive in in a perfect world Haley would be back about 25 ft from where she landed but she still will have a look probably a forehand that’ll be a lane
Somewhat of a a pinched angle though no just one of those days for cat merch I like the sharp angle Kristen put that on and she has checked up a little bit shorter than her competitors and she’s got a really nice Lane to the basket I would say it’s about 250 to 300
Ft to the bend of that corner it’s a tough distance to judge off the teapad you it’s all about the disc selection and then the power you put behind it just Missy trying to pick up her eighth birdie in 10 holes oh and a misfire cat was forced with the stand
Still there kind of awkward footing in those branches it required the full power shot unfortunately she did not hit the line so Missy’s birdie streak will end at 5 she’ll walk away with the paron 10 and of all the holes full 10 plays as one of
The easiest holes on the course so it hopefully she can shake that off and keep things rolling now Hanley just shy of 125 ft to the pin but she doesn’t get onto the island excuse me that that green kind of looks as if it’s Island shaped but you
Do not have to land on it to be in bounds and now maybe cat rethinking about that second shot Maybe maybe a more controlled placement shot would give her a better look at her third I it’s just a wall of trees yeah you called it Val that is a
Wall in front of her and I didn’t even see that window wow merch manufacturing a look to the PIN to save the par and this is what I was meaning by you could go too far any when you’re pushed up against this wall on the back side
This little wall of trees you know that you’ve gone too far you would love to come up maybe 20 ft short of where she did that gives you a much better angle that’s where you see the disc of Kristen also the disc of henna and here’s where you have to be careful
You don’t want to throw the hero shot the shot that has a low probability of getting to the basket if you throw it perfectly because if you’re off the mark you get caught up in that wall of trees or it kicks hard left and you’re actually trying to scramble just to save
Par we’ll see what she can do with it but she’s hit the line well she executes the hero shot and it’s going to pay off and that’s the kind of shot shots we see Haley taking that risk reward on sometimes it will give her this style of opportunity and
Sometimes it’s going to cost her but I do like that she’s got that aggressive play inside of her I was thinking there’s no chance I mean the fact that she had to throw such a sharp angle as soon as she releases it she says no way she knew she nailed
It perfect angle perfect height that’s where you get that big boost of energy and Mojo when you have hit those low percentage very dangerous shots it just woke me up we called Kristen’s t- shop perfect because it is can she make it pay off and she does pay
Day there’s so much work that has to be done on every one of these holes you know you might throw a great t- shot but how do you follow it up can you throw a perfect second shot to give yourself that birdie you really have to work to shoot under
Par even though there was an early tree hit that was not a bad reaction from her disc she’s well out outside um from Circle one to putt she still got an open opportunity the disc actually gained some distance off of that good luck involved in that hit Holland Hanley trying to close
Out and she’ll do so with a bogey remember when we came into the broadcast Holland was actually our leader and she struggled mightily to close out on the back nine I’m just if I can’t go full sleep Val discussing things with her husband Mason long range birdie look for
Henna and she’ll have to settle for a par merch is in for the par that third shot was is just outstanding to get cat that close to the pin you can see a little bit of energy a little bit of smile good feelings heading into the back
Nine not a problem for Kristen to clean up for the Birdie at Discraft we’ve always been committed to delivering the highest quality and consistency in our discs but behind the scenes we faced a challenge what to do with the discs that didn’t meet our standards when we noticed discs with molding imperfections we set them aside knowing they still have potential
Instead of throwing them out we had a vision introducing ESP recycled an initiative that transforms imperfections into something extraordinary we are thrilled to announce nine molds crafted from 100% recycled [Applause] Material I think this golfing can improve a community in many ways it brings people together that maybe some of these kids who feel a little bit lost could find something like this golf find friends find people to come together and play the sport encouraging people to work together kids to know one another love
One another a way for these kids to have a really fun thing to do together I think that’s what we need in the world love one another and do life Together SU zuka zuka z z brought back by popular demand Zite plastic from disc craft disc that you already know and love now available in lighter weights Zite more distance with less Effort and I don’t know about you Zoe but this new disc golf Network app is giving you all sorts of amazing new benefits there’s an adree channel that you can actually subscribe to so if you’re watching out on YouTube today make sure to subscribe now you do not
Want to miss action for the rest of the Season but also thank you to our sponsors for supporting the live broadcast early tree hit for Kristen that’s going to kick all the way to the right side I think disc selection is Paramount on this shot you have to hit the line but then the disc needs to continue flying
Forward and the angle out of hna’s hand she was hoping for the turnover but not too late for a nice tree kick and I’m wondering if she may have given a nice little hug or a nudge to a tree today this is two now three kicks
In a row that have redirected her toward the target take a look at this just as the disc connects perfect redirection she will have to make a putt but she’s got a birdie opportunity yeah I think that cut out about half of the distance if this disc were to heer fade
As it was going to do she would have been certainly near Circle two now she’s going to be around Circle one almost disbelief but you’ll take it sometimes the course can give back to you we’ll catch up with Valerie mundano with her third thank you could have been better could have could
Have Missy throwing her second on 11 definitely a slip there does this catch Edge it does but it stops pretty quickly for her so missy we still have an opportunity up and down and save par see Sarah hulum clearing out on 16 and a stanovic with Nick moving
On this is not ideal for evina yeah she’s going to challenge the OB line and a favorable kick to stop her so she threw out over the OB came back in bounds and then got it to check up that shot gave me confidence and energy she
Hit that less than twoot Gap right in front of her plays the dangerous aggressive shot and lands it fantastic I can promise you Kristen did not practice from over here this sets up as one of the easier t- shots on the course so to find her this far
Offline and now she’ll have a long look and that’ll be just to save the par and we’ll see if that tree actually comes into play and that might be right in her line costly mistake by Kristen off the tea here of 10 there are going to be some holes that
Kristen thinks about tonight after the round where you know it all came down to the t-shot not executing it you know just to even give herself a chance hitting early this is not something we typically see from Kristen who in the woods gets so focused in she’s really having to work on these
Par 3es this putt is going to require a faster spin at a lower height and that was a very good attempt but not able to close it in you’re right Terry Kristen will be cting her bogey here on a very short hole that’s been birdied by most or a good number of the
Field after playing this course on a practice round you left thinking okay I should birdie hole 10 like that’s just kind of one of these holes that you anticipate where that could happen it just is very straightforward and relatively easy so that’s going to feel terrible to walk away with the bogey as
Ganon at circle’s Edge she’ll have a chance for the par El elzra midling throwing her second shot on 16 and she’ll have a look for birdie yep there’s a slope right in front of the te forcing the players to throw nose up so Aina will have that that left for
Par can Hannah take advantage of the Good Tree kick another low putt for Hanah those Strokes are starting to add up she’s had so many opportunities at birdie or par that just came up Short Missy Ganon finds the bottom of the basket she’ll keep the clean sheet going 7 under through 11 yeah as we’re talking about the mistakes that Kristen has made you think to where Hanna has struggled today coming up short on a number of putts they seem online but she’s just been off the front of the basket on what feels like at least a handful or so by
Now Kristen will fall back to even which puts her seven off the pace that Missy Ganon is currently onina in for par a birdie look for elzra yeah elra finally made a putt inside Circle it’s a good thing she’s oh I’m Glad You Came she becomes just the
Fourth woman to birdie it today I believe we’ve seen three of them here on the network or at least talked about them so El Ezra doing work excited as she’ll move to 17 the island green Rebecca Cox in the clubhouse setting the pace early at six under Missy Ganon
Trying to extend her lead after an incredible front nine started out 7 through nine she’s had now backtack pars for the first time today we’ll see if she can get things going on 12 but now Haley pulls that one tight to the right side currently have six players is at
One under par henna being in that mix currently what a shot wow fantastic almost perfect positioning there she could even give herself a long jump putt if she wanted to the angle that she had to release that anheiser line on I mean it sets up so so much better for a
Sidearm to do exactly this and that’ll give Chris in options as well she’ll be able to go up the left side tunnel or she could play out to the right side and try and bring it in late just missing one of the final few trees on the right
Side so she’ll have options two incredible drives back to back and you think that a player that doesn’t throw a sidearm you really get into a a pinched off position of the opportunities that you can get thinking oh you just don’t have the angle for it or the height but henna makes it
Work she’s just so accurate with that angle Jonathan P of Inova on the bag for henna as we’ve seen him in the past here’s Silva sarin so sick wow 68 ft of putt right there that was huge and it no jump required just both feet on the ground full
Extension adding to that Burnie count on 16 yeah just four on the day and two of them coming from this card man I want to be on that card it’s pretty Elite class over there Haley with the forehand it’ll set her up for a relatively easy up and down I think we all feel it when evina throws a shot like that it’s so much power you can hear it snapping out of her hand cand and the green of 14 right at circle’s Edge not by much into the basket and stays you can see SI shaking her head
Not sure that it was actually meant to stay but stoked that she does get it to land overp over Canon asking for it to flip over you wouldn’t be mad to duplicate the effort we saw from evina she went deep of the pin will have a wide open putt meanwhile Missy will be
Short and Valerie mundano trying to get things going here just the one blemish early in the round and since then starting to really put things together she’s four under through 13 believe she’s tacking another one on she should be moving to five you do have a couple options you
Can go on the left side of the tunnel shot or you can throw out bring that OB right hand side into play but hopefully punching through these trees it’s like she hears you Val because that’s exactly what she did playing out to that right side and just
Missing one of the late trees to check up next to the pin that’s a tap in birdie coming Natalie Ryan trying to close out the round and that will be a birdie so bouncing back after the double that we saw on 17 Natalie Ryan closes out with a three under
Effort and I guess not quite a jump putt or a run but this is just ideal not able to capitalize on the opportunity though it was so far left that it was a really difficult um approach High her shot she just pulled it a little too
Wide and perks we see you out there on the ground this hole feels like it starts an entirely different section of the course kind of break down the feeling once you head into the open starting on 11 I feel like most players are going to be relieved that they get to come out
And actually miss their line just a little bit and still have a chance to score and typically all week during practice players were coming out here and the wind was kind of ripping that’s not the case today and I feel like the Back 9 is certainly going to be the easier of the
Two I appreciate the Insight I I know in Walking the course and coming to the spot you turn the corner on 11 exactly at the bottom of the screen that you see there you turn the corner and you’re expecting more woods and then all of a sudden everything just opens up like
We’re on a completely different piece of property almost the way that this course closes out on the last third of the holes just feels so different from the start yeah I would agree and look at how Lush and green everything is out here on this course we’re just in the outskirts of
Austin out here in the countryside and it just a beautiful piece of property here our post team in mint teaming up with Austin Beerworks for this property this course less than a year old and they’ve been doing a ton of work to get it prepared so that it would
Appropriately challenge our fpo and fp40 competitors that’ll be playing in the major this week Scoggins a long look and she connects that is own for birdie she’s going to hop skip and jump her way in yeah making putts at that distance gives own enough time to do all sorts of moves
As she jogs her way in celebratory dance to the basket must be nice I’m surprised we didn’t see a cartwheel or a forward Flip or something now Solin in yes Solin right side gets it to drop bit more humble of a walk for evina to the basket and a misfire from Haley never
Giving that a chance Cat merch with a little different demeanor from what we’re used to seeing No [Applause] Some of my favorite discs in my bag are the a series disc disc they’re the ones I lean on to get close to the basket these are torque resistant discs provide a consistent fade at the end of the flight the best way to find your flight
Is to get out and use these discs yourself [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] He N Welcome back Kristen on the T of 12 and she’s pulled that one right and it’s going to kick hard left she’s fortunate she didn’t hit the very first tree on the right hand side so something is off with Kristen’s backhand releases here every time we’ve seen her throw a forehand it feels like
They’ve been on point almost to Perfection but when it comes to some of her backhand drives something’s going on there I don’t know if that’s timing or uh something with her feet or her arms or mentally or whatever but she’s off the mark and that shot really require such
Accuracy just a dead straight line 330 ft a more wide open Fairway than we’ve seen in the woods King pulls hers to the right I’d go as far as saying I I think this is the most open t-shot that we see on the course and it takes us all the
Way to get to this hole to see it but this is the most open t- shot that they have up into this point and merch will be in the same territory as what we’ll see from henna there you go Val with her second shot on
15 and you’re able to take a look at this Fairway that I was just calling open well that’s thanks to our friends over at flight Factory disc.com providing us with aerial coverage throughout our 2024 season go ahead and scan that QR code to head over to the
Website or if you’re not too lazy just type in flightfactor tocom and what a scramble recovery for Haley King she’s under the basket wait yeah and you’re going to need a few more letters need to type in flightfactor disc.com so I guess the QR code does come in handy flightfactor disc.com here’s
Kristen that one tree is going to make it more challenging hit the line and you got to love her choice to take the wider route with more open air real estate she Nails it and although we saw a little a few rain drop falling see that it’s cleared up a bit
We’ve got relatively no wind as we get out to these areas of open field cat merch down there on the right side some work to do on this putt we said not far from her hna’s look as well both of them will have chance for birdie here
Cat has not seen too many birdie opportunities yet in the round this is a good chance right here similar look for henna just about 11 m Kristen for [Applause] par another par three where Kristen is working her way to the basket [Applause] Wo yeah I guess and I can’t help to think you know we’re playing four rounds out here this weekend on the same course we know it’s very technical very challenging for the players that shoot really well today it’s going to be tough to do that every
Single round got a lot of our players struggling to get off to a hot start they’re going to have a lot of redemption to do in the next three rounds and Val even though we’re not supposed to to have expectations and shots I can’t help but think that those
Top few women that are on the leaderboard will have these expectations to shoot just as good and it’s going to be so difficult to do there we goano doing work from right side of the Fairway scramble check you got to do work if you’re off the Fairway
And using the ground action throwing a Hiser line with a stable disc sigh skips all the way into the bullseye and it’s a long walk out between holes 13 or 12 and 13 but a very beautiful one at that ho 13 you might be thinking about this hole as you’re
Walking up to it it’s the third hardest hole on the course today look at the course map showing how narrow it is for a good majority of this hole and then it dog legs to the right you want to make sure you’re getting to this corner at about 300 ft
And then you’re going to get a little bit of an open air second shot can you hit the Gap I mean this hole is just Absol abolutely beautiful to see in person and the work that they’ve done to carve out this shape there is that river that runs just
Beyond the pin so you really need to control the speed on your second shot placement and positioning is crucial on 13 and that is so well stated valve there is OB along the entire right side like you were saying there’s also elevation lost there’s so much going on on this

Can go right you can go left you can throw straight you can throw high you can throw low as we take a look at the scores Missy Ganon out in front off to an incredible start getting seven of the first nine Rebecca Cox in the clubhouse at 6 under marked off the drop
And welcome in everyone first time first go in a competitive Sense on this track is there anything that jumps out at you so far we’re just a little past the halfway point Val it’s good to be Missy Ganon right now but we know that Missy’s been
On whole 12 for or you know her scores through 12 she’s been sitting on the teapad of 13 for quite a while hopefully she can keep the momentum going we have seen the hot scores coming in from Whole 13 and on she can only grow from there if she can
Keep it going and Zoe when you think about tonight when they’re making notes and they’re thinking about adjustments they hopefully won’t have rain tomorrow but what are some of the things that you think should be jotted down in the uh daily diary for playing this round well the day daily diary not so
Sure I mean you got to do your own personal work but one thing that has to be taken into consideration is there could be wind tomorrow we had a completely Flawless weather round as far as wind today it’s going to be nicer as far as the sun coming out but the wind
Will be a factor in these tight woods I’ve already determined that when I put in my course I’m going to call it like rainbows and sunshine Valley or something like that as opposed to sprinkle Valley I feel like you’re kind of calling it ahead of time as we’ve
Seen the sprinkles today and mundano is not concerned about any of the conditions it appears she continues to do solid work Scoggin throwing her second ideal second shot she’s going to have a look at birdie need some catty love there it’s not the typical caddy that we see ow
Have normally her husband Justin’s on the bag we’ll be seeing him over the weekend but so far this caddy has been doing good work keeping own in that positive mind Frame and you heard Missy commentate for us that came out of her hand a full second or so early she hits those left side inside woods and it Clips her down basically right where she hits so she’s got some work to do to get to the
Basket yeah her disc could only save her so much I know she threw something under stable just didn’t hit the line a lot of speed from evina sailing over the white flags now the OB is inside of circle one it’s at the edge on the back side on the
Right side it’s only 21 ft from the pin so it’s really really kind of closed in on that right hand side and unfortunately evina did find that Obie who plays the Better nice they have some comfy seats to sit on while they wait I was just thinking that uh the volunteer and directing staff here is really doing good work and bringing out all these benches and chairs Sayan with her second on 16 you have to go wide of that large oak
Tree oh and she gets a skip just too much speed I got a a mixed reaction out of side there I almost thought that potentially that stayed in bounds and she was thanking the spotter but uh she clearly was just letting him know she was very thankful for him being there
Yeah I think that’s the ultimate pro move is it even if you finish your hole with a bogey or you’ve gone out of bounds thank the spotter anyway they didn’t throw the shot it’s feels like it’s easy to get mad at them they’re just out there volunteering as we see
The shot from genon wow talk about a scramble she was down so early and had so many trees in between her and the basket we don’t see a lot of sidearms out of Missy and that was perfect see are very narrow Fairways carved out of this section here’s
Mandano taking it extremely wide most likely after seeing the Skip and ground action from her competitor and card mate going out of bounds s she Parks it a lowline drive coming from Christen and this backhand is on point too much distance it appears there for Hanna
This is going to be caught up short and left favorable that it didn’t kick more to the left side as it would have been even more punishing Haley will have a chance to get at least to the bend or possibly get around the corner with a forehand second shot
Merch gets caught up but also a favorable kick to the Fairway own up ahead on the green this is a birdie look try and get back to even par on the round so close well even getting a par on this hole is making up Strokes on the field Emina just barely
Short oh so side did stay in bounds that bump out in the OB actually gave her the advantage in staying inbounds and this is for her birdie yeah got it we’ll see her move to two under once the scorecard updates Canda Birdie on 16 yeah it’s up to you ultimately at the
End of the day the card waiting and trying to determine if they should go ahead and throw knowing that the second card is up ahead on the green Haley can make some really good forward progress if she gets this skip all the way down and that’s exactly what she was looking
For and I think that also made manag to stay safe although flirting with that OB line on the right Nate can you give us an assessment of what we’re going to see from both henna along with Kristen yeah are they in the ideal Landing zone or
Not yeah hna’s a little off to the left similar to where we saw evina she’s going to have a pretty awkward lie and might be forced into an uncomfortable turnover Kristen is just far enough to feed a Heiser forehand down similar to owns Li all right appreciate the
Insight we’re really getting all the throwback jams little Ace of Base maybe trying to harness and hone in an ace B looking good today solid putt as I set just the one mistake to open around otherwise all birdies in par since that was her par on 16 genon not the worst
Kick they’re not hitting the line she doesn’t kick into that jail of trees on the left sloping downhill toward the pin what a shot I think if she would have missed that tree she would have been just outside the bullseye this is going to challenge the right side out of
Bounds Nate did you get any flag as to if she’s out of bounds oh we are seeing green thank you straddling that line yeah she’s got to be right on that line fortunate to punch through the tree evina is going to have a look the island hole of 17 we
Go not a problem for Canda easily finds the island she’ll have a birdie look currently tied for sixth looking to pick up a birdie on the 17th though back with Ganon little work left to do on that putt so you can see that small wall that they’ve put right there a few steps
Outside the bullseye forcing the players to throw their shots up they can’t skip it on the ground that can really bring in the river Solin for B 30 from outside of circle one bouncing back after the bogey take another look just barely enough to get there catches that left side corner pocket
So we see just how close not quite straddling the line coming up a few inches short and Kristen is able to take up to one meter and a common theme when Kristen misses a putt is that she’s online but low and we’ve seen it a few times today I know
We talked about that with henna but that is also a common theme that if Kristen isn’t converting it’s it’s rare that it’s left right or even too high low seems to be her miss that is a missed birdie opportunity there merch it’s a tempting putt to go for
Know the OB line just behind the pin there we go although cat is struggled today she has had some highlight moments in this round for they’ll move on to the 14th as we watch Valerie mundano on the T of 17 can she get herself a share of the lead that’ll give her a
Chance B sitting at six under looking for her seventh genon currently sits at 7 under it’s been slow going here on the back nine and Missy will for the first time today put a bogey on her scorecard po birie siand makes the island is it a surprise I don’t think so
That 17 is the second easiest hole on the course if you make that Island your putt is inside the circle and for the outright lead Valerie mundano picks up the birdie she’ll move to seven under we just watched Missy Miss for par who was sitting at seven
Under so Missy will fall back to six under as she’s completed and as soon as Val’s score is entered for the 17th she’ll be your new outright Leader not necessarily the attended route off of the te but a beautiful Landing there’s a birdie look for Kristen you could tell she’s frustrated with how she’s playing she’s missing her line off her her backhand t- shots she’s really having to put a lot of thought into how you can readjust and
That could be really challenging in the woods another great t- shot for henna another birdie opportunity and this is actually one of the first t- shots I’ve seen Haley keep the height down a little bit the last four or five t-shots have been triple the height that
I am thinking she intended to release it and that actually fared out good for her there no a good second kick so it wasn’t as punish but C merch continues to be on The Struggle Bus here today and paig trying to close out her round today that was for par and Pierce only
Picked up one birdie I believe on today’s round hole number 17 she had got the birdie but the rest were red out here on the C today really struggling to shoot 10 over and Paige Pierce finds herself in a tie for 65th ouch you know it’s been a big
Storyline of watching Paige come back after injury how can she recover I me it takes a lot for players to overcome common injury like that thanks to Microsoft teams you can participate in our next Q&A giveaway with Paige Pierce go ahead and submit your question excited to have them team up
With us as we saw the big news especially regarding The Preserve Championship uh taking place a little later in June over in Minnesota Hanna for birdie another cage hit on the birdie attempt very frustrating for henna she’s not doing too bad in this round but you got
To think about if any of those putts would have gone in how much more positive energy and Mojo that could go into finishing this round plus the bird’s on her scorecard Tatar for birdie that one’s on the mark So taking advantage of sneaking through a few of
Those trees or that little Gap that she found Kristen bounces back with a birdie following up the bogey on the previous Hole and it’s just been a roller coaster and the short game for Haley King the putting green has just been all over the place for her and it’s everything Zoe I mean you talked about how many puts henna has missed I mean it’s you can count The
Strokes when you finish your round You Can Count The Strokes that you missed out on because you’re not able to get the putter into the basket there in the open for evina at this twoot you have several choices when you look in the course map you got the left
Hand route you got the right hand route and they even give you this option down the middle I’m not sure we’re going to see too many drives attempt that tunnel shot through the middle although Missy Ganon heard you again all the way from the course in the
Boot and gave it a try I had the same feelings Val standing on this t-shot again distinct right side Heiser or forehand or Lefty Gap the middle is so much more narrow but if you are to Pure it will get you so much further up the Fairway wow right away I mean missy
Steps up nearly puring it she just needed some height but an amazing drive would land to this position here and as this Fairway finishes off it turns to the left you want to stay on the right hand side to allow enough space for that backhand Hiser to work and get the
Distance so that you can reach the pin anything that finishes off early you’ll be stuck behind the trees on the left and it’s very tight and Technical on the right hand side if you find that kind of tree bunker yeah and we are headquartered right here in the Austin
Beerworks building of not in the tap room so uh we just want to make that nice and clear for everyone but of course we’re seeing the grounds in the facility in which is hosting us for the week awesome to see that we have over 350 competitors overall with
102 being in the fpo division and this is what I was talking about you get to this last section of the course and it feels like almost an entirely different piece of property nothing like the course that they had traversed through in the first nine or 10 holes and you’re
Seeing the close out there you see the bottom of your screen hole number 12 or 13 over there and then as they come back on the other side in the other direction that’s where you see 16 17 and 18 and just just so uh impressive to
Hear that this course has been worked on and worked over a number of times along with a ton of feedback and the the crews and the people coming out here to make this all possible just in the last year or so uh big shout out to Mint disc
Along with Austin Beer Works we’re here for our PDGA major the first one of the year that Scoggin going with the roller she released it way too upright I mean it was perfectly up and down and she hit that stick it kicked her left she didn’t progress very far up the
Fairway crazy to see evina going with that such a sharp forehand angle I agree with that Val especially with her strength being so dominant in working in with the backand she’s got the power to throw any disc on any angle and for a chop drastic forehand I’m I’m quite
Surprised yeah and thinking about the position she was in she wasn’t too far off of Ideal she could have just had a nice skip backhand shot to get around the corner wondering if Nate down there on the ground has any insight as to why Aina might have thrown that shot
Yeah I’m with you zo is an interesting choice right there I I think she was forced to from the uncomfortable lie and sometimes you’re just in a rhythm especially out here at sprink of Val you get in this certain release point that you feel a little bit more
Confident with and it kind of keeps you on the less dangerous side of things and that’s an excellent point either way she does hit the tree and it kicks her to an open place she’s deep in circle too but could potentially convert oppos yeah cuz you you threw pretty
Quick yeah not really surprised that we’re seeing a backup on difficult this whole is current leader seven under Valerie mundano sananda in a tie for fifth she’s sitting at three back looks like they’re going to be ready to go in a moment see Valerie two under in the front
Nine five under so far in the back so the first shot here on 18 you need to make sure you’re Landing it inbounds you have to throw over those railroad ties which Mark the entire inbound area and left side is the best set up for your second
Shot and it’s not really about distance on any one of these shots on 18 it’s just about positioning yourself and playing so that you can ensure the shot lands safely and that’s absolutely right Val we were breaking this whole down after doing course notes last night and
Talking about how none of these shots really require a distance drive on this long and daunting whole 18 it’s just about landing inbounds and making sure you’ve got a clear view of your next shot oh slapping down a sidearm roller does not pan out for her there it
Actually hits a tree and flops over doesn’t gain too much distance up the Fairway neina just choosing to lay up very smart play she’s got a pretty solid round going frustrated Kristen on this teapad being first available for that left Gap need to make sure this finishes to the
Left that’s right she gets a little bit of ground action and she’s going to have just a couple of those trees in the middle of the Fairway King lining up the backand we going with the turnover left side it is difficult to get to this Landing Zone
It’s about 330 ft up there can’t blame her for trying to work something over the left side yeah but it it just seems like a sidearm suits better for this leftand route because the angle is so intense to finish to the right but the disc really doing the work there for cat merch
Know what I’m do on the and up ahead on the green of 15 Canon with the work left to do to save par yeah man look at it she moved into the back nine it was just an immediate stop in terms of all of her momentum andan even
Hole 10 being one of the easier holes on the course and threatening to go back to back bogey she steps up to this putt and you can hear the deep breath that she took before she attempted the putt great save Kristen’s disc is back in the Fairway
She got most of that flight line and she is in a much better position for her third head on over to flightfactor disc.com pick up some merch you can support some of your favorite Pros out there on tour plenty of disc and other things all available flightfactor disc.com evina will tap in for
Par and she’s in Solo possession of fourth place at the moment I’m looking at the stats as we finish off the course three of our last four holes are in the hardest the most difficult holes on the course so as you’re you know getting frustrated playing your round you 4
Hours in things aren’t going your way this is the time to really focus in you really need to step up big to make sure you can walk off the course Clean nice placement shot from Kristen that forehand this hasn’t been the best day for Kristen she is definitely looked off her backhand shots I mean there was a forehand t- shot right there that just not hitting the line like we typically see from Kristen who is nearly Flawless off of the tea
Usually three more rounds to play out in this course and some adjustments need to be made and a similar attempt to what we saw earlier from evina she was out of position to throw her dominant backhand shot she gave that a quite a drastic angle but she still has a view of the
Basket so for Haley’s shot she’s aiming toward those wood chips hoping to continue flying forward but at the very end it still needs enough momentum to drift to the left it’s going to be quite a sharp angle to get around to the PIN up and over pay
Off just gets hung up on the trees Solin in on the T of 16 myself after a great t- shot this Val second shot and she’s just keeping it on that left side that’s going to be an open look for her third she’d love to get to the top of
That hill or Beyond is where she’ll be trying to place her third shot and merch pulls this one to the right side that’s disappointing to cat not take advantage of that great t- shot hold it asking for the disc to hold and it does that was a very nice distance t-
Shot for Missy Ganon Kristen hoping to keep this just to a bogey unless she skips that in and it doesn’t so it’ll check up and Kristen will have that left for bogey oh yeah nice rip and you see a sigh going the right hand side of the Fairway lined her up perfectly to
Go in between those obstacle walls they’ve set out there and Sai has some pretty Elite level distance that looks effortless it always goes just a little farther than what I think the disc is looking like it has inside of it and she was way up there on her first
Shot evina throwing her second after a disappointing first shot and this is pulled over to the right yes enough space on that right side for her to still be in bounds but that will not be good positioning and you see the reaction that she had not
Often do you see evina misfire to that degree with a driver yeah absolutely she’s so accurate and they come out like a frozen rope holding a straight line progress I would consider is anything up and over the stairs and keep her right in the middle or throwing from
Them she have about 160 to the pin from there maybe 170 awkward positioning for king oh doesn’t get much power behind that shot she’s still going to have a tester Putt and I from that last shot that she had choosing to go up and over the trees
That was one of those risk reward type of shots and this time it just doesn’t pay off so King will pick up a double bogey champion from a few years ago struggling here in the opening round I’m at This is one of the hardest holes on the course so again a par is a great score to walk away and knowing how the whole started off for Kristen she should be pretty happy with the par I was just thinking about that uh with the the single bogey
Kristen really played two great scramble shots there and a converts from short range again that card lacking some energy and understandably so there’s some significant struggles out there so difficult here’s Ganon this is her second on 16 trying to set herself up for birdie and that will be a long look but one
Nonetheless this is such great positioning after two shots you have this Hillside right in front of you so it forces you to throw a higher shot than you’d like OB lining the Fairway at this width the entire rest of this hole and then beyond the pin as
Well yeah you rather either be on the top or you’d rather be back about 25 or 30 ft just to make the angle little a little easier I think is what you’re trying to convey to everyone and doesn’t appear that Sai has any problems with it though very impressive
Shot and you’re seeing hole number 16 in the center top of your screen and we’re going to go a little lower for an angle let’s take a look here Zoe yeah we’ve got 650 ft par four on the 16th very narrow Gap to get out and the first time
We actually see the OB is at about 125 ft but this entire Fairway is lined on both the right left and behind the basket so essentially you’ve got to stay in unless you want to collect an out- of- bounds stroke and we’ve seen um really good drives land in this area but
You’ve got to stay wide from this tree lot of ground action happening we’ve seen some skips take discs out of bounds left of the basket there’s also a little bit of a Downs slope so players doing their homework and knowing the lay of the land
And how hard pack it is here is really important yeah and it does look Lush and green and typically that would slow the disc down but there are a lot of Skips up by the [Applause] basket fantastic great distance and she’s out in the middle of the Fairway I I’m not
Sure there have been many drives that have gotten that far on that particular t-shot that was incredible by henna we’ve said that quite a few times about her today common theme yeah throw in the disc very very well plenty of room on the right hand side cat merch is
Safe well executed forehand by Kristen there is a lot of space to move the disc on this t-shot but ideally you want to land on that right hand side at Haley just Prime spot wow probably similar distance to what we saw from henna maybe a few feet in front or behind but going
To be better positioning for sure the red lines would probably dictate like out of there good check I think I’m just break self-governed it’s up to you I really don’t mind either I just don’t want to cut you if you feel like you were ready no no not you so good card communication
Happening here a little bit of uh dissecting how exactly to Mark and who’s out so a couple of different things being worked out by the card here and that red paint actually doesn’t signify anything different except for that there are tripping elements to those railroad ties is completely safe
In and outside of those lines but Valerie is hoping that that disc went a little further left to stay in the actual inbounds lines on the 18th green Evina with her third I think evina thankfully that the disc was caught by that grass we were mentioning how Skippy it can be near the green and Missy isn’t going to go for the big putt instead she’s going to just pitch it up next to the basket and being tied for second place
At six down great decision by Missy evina is able to cash in on that 18 footer looking for a big skip here for Kristen and it’s going to skip all the way to the pin and it’ll check up and she’ll be inside 25 ft with the birdie look
This is really a two Drive hole requiring accuracy on both shots that’s a good sign I was cutting it close but the claps tell me that it it was actually in bounds I was I was worried about that one yeah and I think the height allowing the disc to kind of
Spike into the ground rather than skip what a solid round by Val mundano head into the clubhouse as your outright leader Ganon on the T of 17 just one stroke back of Valerie and that needs to sit down and it checks up plays off the left side embankment and
Missy Ganon on the green and one looking for a birdie on hole number 17 this is really pinched off on the left she’s still going on the right side of that tree oh and it landed out of bounds but then ends up rolling inbounds and she’ll have a look from
Just about 40 ft as we take another look at this one coming down initially touching out of bounds or inbounds I should say then goes out and then comes back in was such a steep and sharp Hiser angle that she had to put that on evina going after the green of
17 also no problem oo and that stays safe those railroad ties can be very helpful to keep those discs in bounds oh and just barely shy of cting a rare birdie here on 18 that was a well played Hole by sand and she will just tap in her par
Scoggins skips up and over the tie and she’s in coming up just short but gets the forward skip required oh that was so close to that railroad tie wasn’t sure if it was going to reject her but that overstable disc gave her enough ground action and henna wants none of this just
Like Missy Ganon she’s got a good round going and does not want to have any more trouble see cat is currently tied for 43rd right now trying to pick up a birdie fight back to five over maybe she can close out strong with a few birdies but they
Are some of the more challenging holes that one’s on the mark So merch move to five over little more energy back in the uh step and tone and demeanor there of merch as we’re watching her clear Haley’s been a combined I don’t know 1% off of all the
Putts you’ve seen a few of them on the left side just slide out there was two of those and that one came in just shy and then slid back out just barely Off the Mark and I’m not sure it’s 100% focus on Haley’s part at this point Kristen for
Birdie plenty of chains brings that one in And just two holes left to play for our final feature card now with [Applause] Inon and Missy converts from inside the island that’s going to push her to seven under and her first Birdie on the back nine and with that she becomes our solo leader Hanah not enough excuse me that was evina as we’re watching the drive again up had that
Landed 6 in closer to the railroad tie it would either connected with it or maybe hit it on the UPS slope and kept her from skipping in but she just barely clears it and she’s left with this for birdie [Applause] takes advantage Canon your outright leader at seven under Rebecca Cox and Valerie
Mundano at six under and at this point Rebecca Cox has been finished with her round for hours and she’s just sitting back letting the scores come in one of our earlier groups to go out hunting for the basket cat merch we heard her say it after the last putt but
After 16 holes she feels like she is woke up and is playing disc golf she’s got three more rounds to scratch her way back up into the top 10 take a lot of work here’s Kristen and that will check up against the left side wall and then gets a roll so she’s in
Bounds that’s the second disc we’ve seen get two RAR road tie hits farther from the basket and I do want to point out that most of the OB is lining the circle but then at the very deep portion they’ve got a few extra feet so it’s
Like a a circle bulge and on the back side of the green they’ve got Circle to attempt somebody could make a circle to birdie in this theoretically that’s now three Ace runs at the basket hen is being the shortest on the short side of the basket all of these shots
Having beautiful shot shape slicing right through the chains in the air haly’s hung it wide will she get some ground play no she hits the right side wall and keeps her out of bounds I actually thought we’d see more shots like that where the wall is keeping
Players out of bounds but more often than not these high shots coming in the wall has allowed them to stay safe hundreds of railroad ties out here on these last few holes keys for closing we’re not dealing with it today but I expect these holes to they’re out there in the open the
Wind is likely to come into play how can they adjust what shots will they they choose to do as they strategically finish off this course all about keeping it in bounds on these last three holes and 18 I really feel like it comes down to committing to the shot you have to be
Aggressive at some point there’s no just safe layup zones of course our keys for closing brought To Us by our friends at black in.com the premium disc golf store some Gallery action out there and Nate I’ve been wondering what some of our M competitors are doing this week
We’ve seen a few on the bag did I see James Conrad is he just a spectator this weekend taking it in yeah a lot of the mo players are hanging out here in Austin a good place to spend your time and you know they’re able to come out
Here get a spectator badge and you know a lot of them are out here on caddying and I’ve had a lot of good feedback just about the Austin Beer Works Brewery the atmosphere up here at the course they’re allowing players to to to camp out here alongside the fo so pretty cool setup
For everybody and good to see the no uh supporting their fellow fpo certainly as we see and here the Applause and collaps for Kristen as she converts on the birdie look on 17 Nate we will take it for the team Val and Zoe and I we will go and see if
Those rumors are true everything that’s been said about Austin Beer Works uh right after the broadcast we’ll make sure to uh confirm some of those positive rumors Plumrose for birdie yes barely getting it over enough to find the bottom of the basket after watching henna today we’re
All cheering for her to make a putt she has had a very solid play with her long distance throws but it’s just getting the putter to drop has been the struggle C merch getting things going [Applause] here so with three birdies on the card Haley it’s going to close out with the
Bogey and lose two to the rest of this card Miss see Ganon is sitting on the te of hole number 18 just one more to go we see how close the scores are Rebecca Cox Valerie mundano sitting at 6 under Rebecca Cox is actually caught up with
Us she’s in the clubhouse sounds like we uh we can hear from her now Rebecca Cox the leader in the clubhouse at 6 underpar after the first round you’re still standing there holding the towel in your hand you’re the first person we’ve gotten a chance to ask what are the conditions like out
There um well for me I started pretty early in the morning so it wasn’t too bad until the final like five or six holes when we got out into the open and it started to rain a little harder um but it wasn’t really too bad for me
Couple of boogies early in your round that’s been common for a lot of players especially on the difficult first hole talk about having to persevere through that rough spot and then in your case just excelling on that back nine is that just a scorable stretch or or what was
Going on there uh well the first nine holes are definitely tighter than the back nine so when I got those bogeys I felt like there were just a lot more opportunities ahead of me and just to keep my head down and keep trying to stay in the
Fairway now that you’ve got 18 holes under your belt at this relatively new course you you could not have had years of practice in the past here what kind of adjustments will you try to make L leading into tomorrow uh mostly just trying to replicate some of the shots that I had
Today on top of just Little adjustments uh there were some drives that were not so good some up shots that were off I mean it’s really hard to I mean it’s a course of placement shots and it’s kind of hard to do that when you’re in the
Tight wooded area like that so uh pretty much just trying to stay under par and uh keep those bogeys to a minimum at one point not long ago the leader in the clubhouse was two overpar you just pulled a six underpar out of your back pocket what is your assessment in terms
Of the hot Round Here will 600 par remain a hot round through throughout the weekend do you think players will push double digits under par by the end of the weekend what do you think it’s going to take I think double digits are possible I think if you can get under
Par in the first front nine holes I think I think a hot round would definitely beat 600 for the weekend but it would have to be a super clean round Rebecca Cox leading the way in the early going of the United States women’s disc golf championship Missy Ganon just hanging out waiting
Along with Chris Fountain heard Rebecca talking about a clean scorecard how difficult it is especially on the front and that’s where we saw Missy just lacing the fairways doing everything right she gets a little more room on the back and that’s actually where she uh came somewhat to a
Screeching halt in terms of her scoring started things off right with a long pot from Circle two that immediately is going to put you in a good mood and get you going for the rest of the front nine at least as we’re watching her flirt with that right side
Tree line on hole Number Four Hole number three should go out and tap that in actually for the birdie then playing the flex out and Around near Bullseye hit 17 taking Advantage Missy nearly perfect with Fairway hits C1 putting very solid and she hit two of those four attempts from Circle 2 but you can see there’s some cleanup that needs to be done after hearing Rebecca talk about the back nine and things opening up things getting a
Little bit easier in the back and in the back nine you got to think about the missed opportunities that Missy had today to kind of pile on some more birdies after an insane front nine I have a friend who’s a PT and her things like she tells dad to her patients like
When she’s about to like bre them and Valerie mandano also shot six under and we caught up with her in the clubhouse as well let’s hear from him now with Valerie mondano now after a 600 par effort on day number one when Valerie just before the camera rolled
You candidly said it’s been a while expand on that how are you feeling right now I feel good I mean I feel like I haven’t put a round together in a hot minute I think even be I want to say even before my injury the finishing of
2022 I finished on a rough start I don’t even think I cashed that last event in so it feels like it’s been a year plus since I’ve actually gotten a legit interview for my score it’s a major it’s day one of a marathon did you have a sense during the
Course of the round how well you were doing in relation to the field or was it a surprise to you as you came off of 18 um the camera always gives it away so when I saw the camera on nine I was like I am doing better than what I
Think any changes leading into tomorrow today you had to prepare for wed and varied conditions tomorrow perhaps at least a little bit more consistent as far as the conditions go and certainly into the weekend how does that change the game plan um it really doesn’t at
Least in my game plan it just means I have to uh take out all the towels out of my bag but yeah it really doesn’t change my Game Plan well now you don’t have to carry those towels you like many players this week have a caddy at your
Disposal what value is that caddy during the course especially of a round like this where it’s raining it’s Misty then it’s dry how much does that help I mean it it helps a ton like you said it’s a marathon not a Sprint so I feel like even mentally you could get drained in
The practice days and coming to day one you’re just mentally drained but having a caddy I feel like I was always able to check up if I was taking the right shot or the right call and he kind of took a lot of that mental weight off of me and he
Was was like yeah I feel like that’s the right call that’s the right disc so it’s almost getting that mental Clarity that I need you’ll have a long morning tomorrow before having one of the final te times of the day how will you spend that time preparing for round number two
Trying to sleep in cuz I feel like I haven’t gotten a much sleep lately wise words from a touring veteran Valerie monano in great shape heading into day number two nice left side of the Fairway for Scoggin as well while we out there walking around zo we kind of determined that this left
Side of the Fairway doesn’t have the undulation that the right side does which is exactly I think why we’re seeing three for three in terms of drives going over there yes it’s wide open on the right but it’s the footing that they’re dealing with right yeah that’s absolutely right if you’re
On that right hand side it’s almost um tricky like you might want to take a standstill shot because of the undulation in the ground it also could create a big skip or just stop a disc so all of our players are really smartly headed to the left side of the Fairway
On this t-shot it’s quite important to get yourself in good position there is so much to study in the middle and second half of this really daunting final 18th hole the t-shot itself is actually the easiest and knowing about the ground knowing where you want to be
Knowing how far you can throw we saw sananda get all the way up here close to these far railroad Tides playing in the middle which opened up a beautiful full straight shot for her second throw gave her what we’d like to call an eagle attempt although she couldn’t even see
It from the base of the stairs here if you’re up here anywhere in this area in Two Shots you are in great shape a third shot here you would hope to be in position on the stairs or up top of the hill so that you could then see the
Basket because the Fairway becomes so narrow right here we’ll be lining the entire Fairway and not too far behind the basket a lot of stuff to do and think about out here trying to close out on the par five and that’s going to push over to
The ob but stays safe so a great looking shot there from fountain and when I’m thinking about good-looking shots maybe even some analysis of said shots I’m thinking about Brian aart Nate Perkins perks what are you guys giving us in Tournament Central this week you know we’re starting to get
Pretty comfortable over there on TC you know having fun kind of really diving in deep about what’s required to win this weekend’s tournament and also just you know what this place is like what the brewery is like the setting what players are doing in their time off so we’re
Really trying to talk about things that we don’t get to see on the network and that we you know might not know about some of these athletes so it’s pretty fun time everyone make sure you tune in for Tournament Central action each day coming to just before the broadcast and
Also as we wrap up each night a very very aggressive powerful shot from evina she keeps that height perfectly low underneath the tree canopy and she’s in the middle of the Fairway and if you want to hear from the pros talking about the pros breaking down and giving us Pro analysis get your
Pro subscription over there because that’s how you can hear it all on tournament Cent Nate Perkins along with Brian aart breaking it down for you for the postgame we give you the pregame that kind of leads into everything everybody has access to that however if you want
The post game that’s over on the pro subscription and some young Spectators taking in the action out here enjoying it all on the opening day of the usw dgc and I’m going to take a quick moment my daughter celebrates her 13th birthday today so happy birthday to my daughter
Who’s not here in attendance unfortunately uh but my daughter McKenzie celebrating her 13th future of the usw dgc right here on the course and celebrating birthdays okay and really I mean these players are celebrities these families that follow disc golf the families that sit in their living room every weekend watching disc
Golf to see them in person to see them throwing shots on the local course that they play all the time I mean these are dreams coming true I’m sure for a lot of the these young players out here spectating this weekend push to the left side checking up
Safely a great Vantage Point than your friends over at flightfactor disc.com it is really fun to see the overhead shot of this hole because the out of bounds is just so so interesting this first shot pretty wide open but it is about placement and how you’re going to execute the next shot I
We were discussing how the road is really a great spot to concentrate on if you’re at the road or just left of it that’s when your footwork is going to feel the most even so to speak that’s where you won’t have to deal with the little divots that are in the ground so
Keep in mind when you’re seeing that road that’s kind of where you want to be or just left of it that’s exactly what we see from Heaven yeah not only footing but it’s a more wide open shot if you’re following the road instead of going through those
Kind of railroad tied obstacles and then the trees on the right [Applause] side pushing just about a 4-Hour round is what I’m going to expect I believe this group teed off right around 155 local time by the time they clear out and get everything accounted for it’s going to
Be just shy of a 4-Hour round for our competitors today oh get left she needs that to get left didn’t get an indicator that certainly is going to challenge the OB on the right side and now we are hearing green flag for Missy Ganon so she is inbounds
It’s again it’s tough to really place your shot you’re trying to throw up over this hill I mean Evelyn is trying to jump to get a visual of the basket but about 70 feet they have to allow their disc to fly on to the left or the right
You really have to focus in on the straight flight with something very slow oh just inches from hitting that top of the rail and potentially being safe evina finds herself in the out of bounds and then my keys for closing commit was my third key and I thought about this
Shot right here there’s really no safe layup you have to throw it as hard as you can with something slow and hope that you hit your line and how is that safe for own I I my jaw is dropped right now I thought no way way will on Scoggin be safe and and
She is and fist pumping deservingly it’ll be interesting to see where that actually ended up just like that um you know you one would have thought maybe without seeing those flags that those results would be opposite where Chrissy’s disc hit up high and dropped and ens um did some incredible things either
Way still waiting here in the Fairway of 18 Haley King if she’s looking at scores would find herself currently a tie for 37th along with Chrissy Fountain who we just saw throw her approach shot let’s take a look at a few of her major storylines here today big money
Missy genon looking for her first major win Kristen Tatar trying to make history again and with a win Kristen can become the first FP player to win six straight majors and struggle for our past champions paig Pierce sitting in a tie for 64th Haley King tied for 37th at the
Moment think Kristen with six straight major wins in a row she have seven Majors under her belt the first major she ever won happened to be this tournament back in 2019 and really that’s the time that we all heard about her name we all heard Kristen Tatar from Estonia coming out with this
Breakthrough performance taking home the US Women’s title and making history with an incredibly dominant year last year she’s going to have some work to do this weekend and one of the rare drives that wasn’t on the Mark is what we just saw from henna she can get through the
Trees that’s not bad she’s not completely through the trees but she’s in line with the stairs if Kristen could finish with a birdie here she’d be at 4 under and she would be on the bottom of our lead card for for tomorrow’s round currently seeing a pretty significant tie at three underpar that’s
With evina who likely will be taking a bogy along with sananda and Natalie Ryan they’re all at three under which is where Kristen is so if she can birdie she will be taking sole possession of fourth place and be on the lead card we see that own was just barely in
Bounds on this left side does she have another one to close out and own who had a very rough start right out of the gate on hole number one taking the double bogey you notice all the time she bounces back though she took the double and then a birdie seven
A bogey and then a birdie so our doing on 16 and 17 with the bounce back but overall own Off the Mark today and she had some insane par saves that we were able to catch on film but to finish now we see the score coming in three over for
Today not what we expected after seeing her performance last weekend merch with her second oh that one’s going to go all the way through clean for cap merch let them believe that’s what I meant avalina closes out with the par even after the OB stroke so avalina guaranteed at least a
Spot on Chase card chissy will close out round number Oney doing so much work for the local women’s Disc Golf Scene here in Texas awesome see her work with the Wildflower [Applause] tour and Missy will be our leader after one round here at the first major of the
2024 season Missy Ganon who started the day seven under through nine she would play The Back Nine just even par but still has a one-stroke lead heading into day number two we talked about what the score would be what’s the score to beat and with Missy sitting at seven under in the
Front we’re thinking all right buckle up this could be double digit but things really cooled off for her and that might have saved Haley from an OB stroke to check the back foot see if there’s any slide here and Hanna really just going for a layup not trying to get
Aggressive and go over the stairs big moment for Kristen deciding just how aggressive she wants to be the safe shot is to do what we just saw with what henna did you don’t actually want to skip up to the base of the stairs so you want to throw
Something shorter so that you have room to throw over that Hill well if she’s throwing it less than 100 feet she’s taking a lot of time to do so and it doesn’t appear to be the case she gets aggressive this needs a forward Skip and she gets it it stays straight
So she’s in bounds she’ll have a long look for Birdie the well analyzed risk pays off for Kristen and might be the reason she will hang on top card tomorrow see if she can make that putt yeah that was not an an easy shot to throw it’s blind where the disc is
Landing but she was confident that it was going to continue flying straight with no sharp turn at the end with that slower disc she chose and I’m going to give another final shout out to Nate Perkins Nate anything you want to close us out with any parting shots here today before we
Let you go yeah after seeing this course played out and its first day of competition I think we’re in for a treat as far as entertainment I think it sets up great for this division it’s really difficult and it’s Dynamic you you have to be on your toes you
Definitely can’t predict anyone’s score no matter what point they are through their round and I’m all for three more rounds here at sprinkle Valley all right well we appreciate all the insights and you nailed it so perfectly when you talk about predicting anything Missy was seven under through the front nine
Rebecca Cox on the other hand she was even through the front nine and finished at six under hna flashes just to the right of the basket uh my quick math tells me that if Kristen pars this she remains at three under but sananda would have the
Nod on the lead card sanand having a lower PDGA number so Kristen is to be on the lead card she’ll need to convert on the birdie luck it is just such a touchy shot right there when you’re are approaching the basket we saw it from own uh Chrissy
Earlier now cat merch it is you’ve got to be in the middle it’s just such a tight little Landing space you could be out of bounds so easily and she just barely turned that sidearm over a big momentum putt coming up here for Kristen if she wants to be on the top
Card tomorrow this has to go in just barely short on the effort so she’ll remain at three under during the opening round for title defense here at the United States women’s disc golf championships and it wasn’t a perfect day for Kristen she had some errors off of her t- shots
She hit some amazing putts and we look at her score at three under she’s not that far back after a lot of missed opportunities wonder how cat merch felt about that but so little bit of a tough day out there for cat merch but she’s got three
More rounds and there’s so much time and so much room to bounce back this is for Hannah to remain on the chase C tomorrow Haley closing outer round certainly some struggles by our previous champion of this event see how she can bounce back [Applause] tomorrow will finish at three under the steps across the bridge right down that direction [Applause] so and welcome in everyone it’s done just under four hours we saw
Some sprinkles we saw a number of holdups and backups out there uh initial Impressions or first thoughts that you have Al the course is as difficult as it seemed it would be you know we saw Misty Ganon start shredding it in the front nine but the challenges were in the back
Nine for her and then flip-flop for Rebecca Cox so nobody came off this course going man that was a breeze let’s do it again I mean I think everybody has a little something to work on but I think it’s a great start to show how difficult this
Course is any surprises for you I mean you and I walked this course yesterday along with a local who knows it very intimately is there any surprises that you picked up from yesterday compared to how it played out today no not surprised at all to be totally honest this course
Is just difficult like Val said and what I think about is the fo field is going on six five straight weeks if they weren’t included in Allstar these women had two days from the Austin event to get here and get prepared they’re tired most likely and it’s how well are they
Taking care of themselves how good is their mental state and how much rest are they having it’s a completely new round tomorrow and it’s a very wooded course so so much could happen and Kristen Tatar isn’t that far off the lead got to just say it how it is Kristen no amount
Of Strokes will be enough to pad a lead and there are three more rounds yeah well we’ll see her she’ll be working from The Chase card which sometimes has a different set of pressures right maybe a little more relaxed there’s still going to be two cameras there along with
A gallery along with all the fans and Spectators and whatnot but it’s just sometimes a different vibe when you’re not under the brightest of spotlights because you’re on that chase card we’ll see if that factors in and then of course you have the likes of Missy Ganon
Who’s one on the big stage but is still hunting down her first major there’s so many other stories to discuss that will all unfold we’re going to have an OTB after show where we’ll break everything else down down we’ll be back in a moment Pound’s the best of the best it’s the quality the craftsmanship the vision for what a bag could be let’s start from the beginning I didn’t choose pound I chose Levi I trusted Levi to make the best bag possible he’s always trying to innovate he wants it to be perfect and I think
He’s the kind of guy that nothing’s ever perfect I trust the product I trust the people behind the product at this point I don’t think anyone’s disputing that it’s the best made Bag hi everyone I’m Dez reading Hall of Famer so excited with my new Signature Series disc the goat I use the goat for all sorts of shots the big open field heisers with some Annie with that strong flex and reliable fade or on those windy days when you

Nine which means you led most of the day what was your sense of your positioning in the field during the course of your round I mean I knew what I was doing on the front nine I I never looked at scores but I knew what I was doing and
Yeah that’s a dream start I I would have never thought that I could be seven down through nine um that’s not at least the expectation that I had um and so when I came off nine I was pretty pretty stoked about my my score going into the back
Nine and thankfully I had enough because um I kind of fizzled out a little bit and it was pretty slow but uh yeah overall I’m very happy because you shot the hot round of day one I want to ask you about the pace of that round people
Better at math than I am will know seven time 4 that would be a 28 underpar effort for the entire tournament is that a sustainable pace is 28 going to be what it takes to take this down and if so how do you you mentally attack that
Yeah I don’t ever really um think about it as like like a hole um I just try to get the best score on each hole so I’m trying to birdy every single hole out here and um you know hopefully minimize the bogeys um but yeah I can’t imagine
We’re going to see too many scores higher than that but as the weekend goes on people kind of learn things and they realize um how to play holes a little better you you definitely kind of use your rounds as practice too in a way cuz you you find yourself in in
Spots that you may not have found yourself in practice so um yeah you just never know what the developments are going to be um it’s a marathon so uh yeah I’m I’m just going to try to keep my head down and and keep plugging away
After such a hot start to your round is it fair to say that there are stretches of this course that are easier or or harder are you looking at it that way or was it just the fact that you happen to be hot and maybe tomorrow it’s the back
Nine where you do most your scoring what which way is it going to be for you do you think no I think that every hole is um is attainable the bird’s attainable um so yeah I just kind of I was I was I was just hitting my lines playing really
Loose on the front nine still was playing pretty loose on the back but um just kind of was off a little bit so um yeah I don’t I don’t know you just I I try not to think about it you know you never know what’s going to happen and
I’m just going to stick with my game plan and try to execute each shot when the rounds take as long as they took as today’s round meandered well into the 4our range are you able to relax yourself and settle into a slower Pace more of a saing pace
Or is it a little bit more taxing on the body to be out on the course that long even if it’s still just 18 holes um yeah I’m definitely feeling uh a little fatigued right now uh mostly because I’m hungry but um yeah it’s it’s the the
Backups can be a little bit uh of a drain um and you can kind of get iced but we had such good vibes on the car hard and you know the fans were really great the ones that could come out today so um it was easy to kind of let your
Mind you know sort of not think about the backup so it was just a even though it was backed up we were we were still playing pretty smooth was that a roundabout way of saying more snacks in the bag for tomorrow maybe I’m very very bad at eating during the round so um
Maybe sounds like a task for Tom yeah yeah maybe to remind me congratulations on a great opening round best of luck this weekend so much appreciate it thank you thank you so great to hear from Missy and if you want to hear from the likes of evina
Solon and others make sure you tune in to Tournament Central that is of course right there on your pro subscription we saw that Missy Ganon was leading in so many of the categories the one of the numbers that jumped out at me there were other women that would TI
With her for first place in terms of the birdie rate eight birdies there was three or four other women that got those eight birdies however Missy obviously kept her mistakes to a minimum I don’t know if that’s going to be ultimately what it is but we’re seeing at least
Eight birdies can be collected by any one woman and if you add up Rebecca’s birdies versus what we saw uh for with Miss or you add the two together I feel like they birdied well they birdied 16 uh times it was very impressive what they were doing out there uh anything
That you saw from Missy’s game or any other thoughts that maybe she shared with us that we want to make note of for tomorrow yeah what we always know miss her putting I think that was really put on on highlight Fairway hits I mean she
Was 15 out of 17 when I last checked and the way she finished out 18 pretty clean so I think that’s really what allowed Missy to succeed and if she can get a few more birdies in the back nine and kind of replicate that front nine I mean
She’s going to be doing really well after after the round and Zoe you talked about earlier there’s something to be said about game planning uh and it sounds funny but even your your meals your snacks Missy just mentioned it she got hungry they’re not playing at a time
That they’re used to playing almost all the time our our final card of the day is going off around 7:30 or I’m sorry 8:30 or 9:30 a.m. today with a much later start and tomorrow and the rest of the week our lead card is going to be on
A different schedule aren’t they much different schedule it’s getting close to dinner time now most of these players are getting ready for lunch when they uh tap out of their Elite Series rounds and so it is a different schedule it is different planning but I can certainly
See that Missy Ganon is thinking about what kind of Corrections to make how to keep herself in it and how not to be thinking too much about scores she knew she was doing well after nine holes and got into kind of a cruise mode and so
What I picked up just now is that she wants to maintain intensity I love it and Valerie mundano keeping it real earlier when she said when the camera showed up I knew exactly what was going on and that she was performing well and it was great to see and then
Rounding out our card will be Sayan nand tomorrow along with Rebecca Cox so impressive to see uh during our first round guys you have any guesses it’s an OTB shot of the daytime any any guesses I’ll start with you Zoe henna henna is gonna have there’s two drives that come
To mind where she just got it so much further up the Fairway right in the middle I’m thinking it’s going to be one of her shots okay well yeah and especially with how well Anna henna played today I’m thinking there were so many fist bumps and running to the basket out
Of own Scoggin with some massive putts some putts from Kristen too that could make the cut I don’t know Terry I don’t know we got a bunch to choose from which is pretty exciting the fact that we have so many options here let’s take a look
Our OTB only the best shot of the day I love the putt from Missy on one and oh we can’t downplay this one we saw the drive hole number 10 doing work a park job a tap in birdie coming from avalina the gallery just outside the brewery taking in the action
Front row seats the skip the pace everything it needed to pull it right to the basket congratulations evina on our OTV only the best shot of the day tomorrow the coverage starts at 1:00 p.m. central that’s when we’ll be giving you Tournament Central so make sure you
Tune in here on the disc golf Network for Nate Perkins out there on the ground along with Grant zelner doing work in the pdj media side Zoe andik and Valerie Jenkins I’m Terry Miller we’ll see you tomorrow Afternoon Yeah

Logan is so good
Nate Ryan has a male anatomy please tell me he don’t get to compete in this event
I wish Kat Mertsch would take disc golf serious. She could be a real contender.
Zuca never sends me any free products 🙁
it seems like we have an ideal scenario in which we are becoming more inclusive and cis women are very clearly still able to be competitive and win, maybe there actually was hate involved this whole time
Wtf is nate doing in the field. Ball = male
I guess I'll be avoiding FPO coverage this year since it's not a true FPO experience. Mr. Ryan ruins it for me.
The course is called sprinkle valley because that part of town used to be a community named “Sprinkle, TX”.
