A ceiling on what iuk can get and it can put a floor on what he can be paid so the market has to settle out iuk needs to talk with the ners and they both have to decide what’s the number and so for the ners you I buy this report even if

Couple things that I would push back on that yeah um one is that the ners also need to have auk signed as a way of saving on the cap that if you extend iuk you can save seven to eight million in cap space and that’s something you can
Only do if you sign him if you play the game of well no we’re just gonna let you go and then we’re gonna franchise tag you you they don’t get the cap savings they would want and iuk wouldn’t report and if you want to start off the year
Like they did this year where it’s you start off with a great record early but iuk holds out what’s it going to look like for your starting record to begin the year so iuk does have some cards to play they’re just not as powerful as the

Don’t think so you guys have to the cap goes up every year and players contracts go up every year so if Tyreek hill was a free agent or in Brandon iuk this year you’re right iuk would definitely not make more than him much like if uh Justin Jefferson gets signed
I don’t think auk is gonna end up getting more than Justin Jefferson but both of them will probably get more or as much as Tyreek Hill this year because the cap is different than it was the year well and it’s also time has gone by right and it’s just also a timing thing
Of when you sign your deal that that’s always going to go up um golden drag saying he was Nick Bose’s agent okay signed with the crayon yeah I I I can see that but yeah and the numbers that he cited make perfect sense that’s that’s
Where the ners would come in is 23 then go to 25 and it’s just can you settle at where I think I’s market value is which is around 27 and then it’s years incentives the other factors the other details that drive the deal that makes sense to me think that’s possible but
Again it comes down to what is auk willing to do in talking with the ners and saying let’s get this deal done or is he saying that I am not the number one option on this team this team throws the ball too little I am limiting my career earning option by staying with
This team because it doesn’t throw the ball as much but you also another team make more you also that I said he also does that in Pittsburgh though that’s that’s where I feel like you start poking holes is if Brandon ifba was a free agent and he could choose to go to
The Chiefs then yeah he might rather do that and get Patrick Mahomes to throw the ball in a pass first offense but in a situation where it’s up to the 49ers to trade him somewhere I think it’s in his best interest to try to stay with the 49ers because the place he gets
Traded to might also be a run first team and that team might not be in contention in the Super Bowl or in the playoffs every year like if he goes to the the Pittsburgh Steelers I don’t think he has this possibility of becoming you know a Hall of Fame level wide receiver if
That is his goal more so than just the money aspect of it you know yeah yeah well there’s a lot of factors involved it can be just that he doesn’t trust Shanahan given the few targets that he got in the Super Bowl and therefore what’s the point of being in the Super
Bowl if I don’t get the ball um he can he can have issues with the uh the Dog House element where the Niners were selling the narrative that he wasn’t working when he was um and then you’ve got the ners history of what they did with obviously working hard doesn’t

Issue with all this stuff with auk is he has to be wondering I deserve to be the number one target get the most opportunities on this offense and we need to pass the ball more than we have and Christian mcaffrey is getting older and we still haven’t invested in in the
Offensive line to get better pass protection so I can become more of the offense there’s a lot of ifs there’s a lot of ANS and they’re going to have to work all of that out and I think that until they do auk is going to continue to try to manufacture leverage like
Talking to Pittsburgh but I do buy that the Steelers are interested because my Golden Rule of GMS in all sports the player that burns you is the player you want in iuk against Pittsburgh eight catches 129 yards two touchdowns were you you the 49ers just picked up uh Leonard

Should become the focal point and so how do we grow yeah it’s right now it’s Debo’s number one but he hasn’t earned it he hasn’t deserved it iuk should be the first Target and their lack of uh extending d Samuel this off season when they extended guys like freaking Javon
Hargrave to me tells me that they are open to you know giving a trading away Deo Samuel next year when there’s going to be no dead cap yeah or if they were married him there’s no reason that they wouldn’t have reallocated his contract this year right me they wanted to keep that opportunity
Filled up which that’s a great Point makes it feel like they are looking at iuk as as one guy uh gold dragon says um I just missed it but he said that San Francisco 49ers invested in Deo to be the number one Target and that’s kind of
What I’m talking about it looks like maybe they’re looking down the line and trying to devest in in Debo Samuel and take some of their resources out of them so they can make that transition so looks like they’re not only looking at next year they might be looking okay

Like jomor Lenor took a huge step this year charar had his first All Pro year definitely in my opinion stepped up so there’s a couple positions on the team that I actually feel like are more solidified um same thing we knew that that off I think right now my main
Concern has been the offensive line but if I go back to last year I think the offensive line was a concern at this point last year I’m hoping they actually address it this year because we were right to be concerned about it it in my opinion strongly affected the 49ers
Ability to win the Super Bowl that in just general knowledge of overtime rules but we don’t have to get in of that yeah yeah ouch but um how do you when when when you think about that do you think you feel more confident right now in the
49ers to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season than you did last year or no do you feel less confident I feel less because I think that there’s a couple of factors that play one this is a much harder schedule that they’re going to face in this news this upcoming
Season a that’s a good people don’t really think about that the competition level is higher there’s some very tough road games there’s teams they don’t match up well with it I don’t think they’re going to have the same record um beyond that you’ve got an older team think gonna who

And being like Oh that’s an L when you look at the this season coming up which teams are you are you thinking are going to give the Niners a lot of G or are you just thinking that teams division are better anyways they play Kansas City Detroit Green Bay Dallas you there’s a
Lot of teams are going to give them trouble then you look at who gives them problems schematically and the Shanahan offense has had difficulty going up against simulated pressure and Seattle just hired the king of simulated pressure the defensive coordinator from Baltimore Mike McDonald so now you’re going to see
That in division twice a year and the Niners have a lot of trouble against that and Seattle’s got some talented players on defense that he can work with and they hired the udub offensive coordinator who’s very creative so I think Seattle is going to take a big
Move up they were vanilla under Pete Carroll now they’re going to be a difficult matchup for the ners just because the coaching is so different and so good I think that’s but I feel like with Seattle their personnel like who do they even have I feel like they’ve gotten rid of
Everyone this year like they’re like burning it down well you know Seattle has a lot that they still need to get done but they drafted well over the last two years those players are going to keep developing they’ve still got some high draft picks this time too so you they’ll
Be good they’ll be solid you there’s some issues where they’re gonna they’ve ignored their defensive tackles for too long it’s kind of like the Niners at right tackle is Seattle in the interior defensive line and so if they deal with that in the draft they’ll be good I wouldn’t Overlook Seattle the other
Thing is the Rams are better the were in transition now I think the Rams are a better team they really stocked up in their offensive line and they’re going to be a solid team next year they lost Aaron Donald such an offensive team they’re such an offensive team now

Adam peters’s effect on free agency potentially he was good at navigating those sort of contracts and getting guys to want to come here uh and we’ve seen a little I don’t know if I want to say struggle but definitely some stumbling while they’ve while they worked through
The free agency process so it’ll be interesting to see how that draft goes if it goes worse or better I’m not saying I think either one um I’m saying these are things that are to be continued that we will find out as they go which is why I was why this is um

Things and they be like that punishment makes a little more sense now yeah yeah we’re missing the context right now of what exactly did they do that would lead the league to say we’re taking away a fifth round pick and yeah you know granted it’s it’s only a fifth round
Pick Jesus but the fifth round pick also became George KD hu funga Greenlaw you the nighers are good in the fifth round picks now part of that I think that’s where we’re going to see the value or the loss of Adam Peters is those level picks deeper into the draft and Finding
Diamonds in the Rough I think that’s where Peters had value and we might see that now going forward in the next draft but we’ll see um in terms of the Jimmy G comp it’s you he was initially supposed to be a third round comp and he played
So badly they moved it to the fourth and that’s just well okay Jimmy G hurts us one last time on his way out the door boom got Stick it to us so be it so be it but the ners are still in a good space still got you know first second

Response to that and I’m kind of trying to gauge by his answer to that are you looking towards moving off of Debo Samuel next offseason and obviously he’s not yeah they’re not gonna answer that one yeah no no no that wouldn’t be the question but by me asking but yeah

Last year like are you simply trying to get back to as good as you were last year because that didn’t seem to be enough yeah right unless you want to admit that it was enough and that you should have just known the rules but you don’t want to do that
So so how are you gonna get even better I like that I like that response that question I want to see those tweaks again um what’s your next one I want to know is Campbell there are they going to be looking in the draft for so this
Would be a John Lynch question are they going to be looking in the draft for a linebacker position or a linebacker player do they assume that Dre Greenlaw will be back earlier on in the season what do they think he his recovery timeline is going to look like and what
Are what are they hoping for and expecting because I as a fan am not expecting Dre greena to come back and be Dre green the fast physical player but we know that 49ers for some reason expect injuries to basically not affect their players and that they want them to come
Out and play 110% well that’s how you have setbacks and that’s how you mess up your team because you’re not uh putting in the proper depth pieces Behind these guys because you just assume oh well drla will be back oh he’ll be able to play at 110% it’s like well he got
Injured like two months ago right right well I don’t think that ly would be able to answer that question question because I don’t think he knows either I don’t think anyone does that when is when is he really going to come back you need to be closer to the beginning of the year
To really evaluate where green law stands and where he is so the question more is just how are you approaching this draft at linebacker given that you don’t really know yeah what you’re gonna get from Dre green law when you don’t know when he’s going to be back to who
He was and that might not even be this year at all and you’ve also got the NFL gestation process at linebacker now where it’s two to three years where it takes a rookie to become an impact linebacker that can play on the field it’s what do they think of Jaylen
Graham and D winners right now you’re in year two for them you already drafted these guys right but across the league it it’s now taking two to three years for that rookie linebacker to come in so if they believe that two to threee thing is is real do you now want to spend
Another draft pick at linebacker to have another player on that two to threeyear conveyor belt or are you so sold on somebody that you think that he can skip that process and be ready to go because you’re in position to take the first linebacker in the draft if you want to
At 31 now whether they’re willing to do that or not I don’t think they are I feel like they’ve gone they’ve done too much defense to use their first round pick on a defensive player yeah I don’t think they would but I do think that linebacker is something they’ll look at
A lot of people have fallen in love with Cedric gray the linebacker from North Carolina I agree with that I think he’s going to be a great Pro the question is how soon and what what’s the ners answer to how soon that’s going to drive if
They’re going to be willing to to use the third round pick for CED gr we’ll find out I like that a lot do you have a okay so my my next one is revising my question for me but I’ll still sorry but yeah um so my question
To do that because you were you were correct that his response to my question would have just been like well I’m not the doctor right right but it’s more about okay how are you going to bolster your team knowing that you’re uncertain at this position right right um my next
One I don’t know if if Lyn Lynch would answer this one but I’ll try and then it would be how much of a factor is the draft history of this team in this regime factor into your picks you have used two picks in the first two rounds
At offense line you have never selected a secondary player earlier than the third are you willing to change that and does that factor into your thinking going into this draft how much of a factor is roster balance overall to you and your draft process going into the draft this
Year I like that I like that a lot and it’s also like that kind of ties into the last question we said but not just with linebacker but John Lynch in his press conference he had now it was over like a month and a half ago he was
Talking about the importance of maybe looking for tight end in the draft and it’s like well you drafted two tight ends last year like right now we’re asking two two positions that we’re like hey we should maybe look at our linebacker and tight end and it’s like obsessively those those guys should be
Accounted for because they’re on the team are you expecting anything out of those guys or no well he won’t tell you this but oops we whiffed on cam latu oops we whiffed on Willis you it’s it’s just they have to keep trying it tight end until they get it and I think that
They’re going to do this in this draft is that they could look at Jadon Sanders from Texas and Theo Johnson from Penn State Ben cinate from Kate one of those three guys I expect to be a Niner I think that they’re going to prioritize tight end because they need tight end
Too that if going to move on from Kyle yuse cheek be it this year or next you need to have two tight ends and they still don’t have the second tight end yet they’re not willing to spend in free agency to get it so they’re gonna have
To draft it so they’re gonna keep throwing draft darts they’re gonna see saying we want a tight in and so we’ll see but I think that those three guys they’ve also talked with Jem Bell of Florida state who’s more of an h-back but one of those guys I think that tight
End’s going to be a priority for them it wouldn’t surprise me if all if that’s a pick within the first three rounds is tight end and while while you’re talking kind of about like draft strategy and does previous draft strategy affect how they’re currently going to be drafting

He’ll take who he likes and then they end up being sent away to the Island of Misfit Toys it’s just Dante Pettis um the running back and Joe Williams from Utah the running back um all of the running backs that that never worked you at TDP look at all of these picks that
Kyle threw away at guys that he wanted that were toys for him chess pieces none of them worked part of the reason that I want Shanahan to be stripped of final Personnel control is all of those whips the only one that he hit on was Debo all of those other offensive weapon draft
Picks in the third or the second the the the heavy speculation and I think it’s true is that that was a Kyle pick and I think that he needs to be removed from the process he needs to be an advisor certainly but the one that actually makes the
Call you gotta say that that shouldn’t be Shanahan it needs to be Lynch but we’ll see age I agree with that the interesting thing is like with this with this comment I want them I I’m usually Pro picking D best player available but in that first round I almost hope that
They do the opposite where if they really do have especially on that offensive line a guy that it looks like they really they you know have really high on their drop board and he’s a couple positions above them and they can get down I do hope
That they trade up and get him so it’s kind of it’s kind of interesting because I think my main criticism is like well you should do more best player available but then for some reason in this draft I’m like okay well except for the tight
End like if you or not tight end except for the offensive line if you do have a guy like please do be willing to part with some draft picks and go up and Target that guy yeah well I think that this offensive line draft is the best in
Like 15 years in terms of the top level talent and the overall depth at every position is just unbelievable it’s really rare you there’s going to be the most tackles selected in the first round ever in this draft it could be as many as nine and six of them can start on day
One if I’m the ners I say what’s my biggest need right tackle that can transition to left and here’s six guys in this draft that can do that go up and get one of them please make it to Marius Mims that’s who I want but any one of
Them JC leam who’s also a great tackle um Fano from udub there’s guys that you can get that they should fall one of them to maybe the mid 20s if that happens go get them first and the third go get them uh I would not wait if they
Do wait then they’ll have to hope that somebody like Graham Barton who’s a tackle of Duke but everybody says he’s a center in the league yeah he he would go in and be the center for the ners and I think he’s been in a lot of in a lot of
Mracks he’s been available when the 49ers tooking to pick so that some but others have him now going to Dallas because Dallas needs a center and so it’s a question of Jackson poers Johnson of Oregon where does he go um if Graham Barton is still on the board and jpj is
Gone Barton could end up going to Dallas um but there is a third Center that’s uh from West Virginia uh Zack Frasier who’s also a very good Center and somebody that they could deal back into the early second round and draft him so they’ve got options at Center in and around 31
But I want to see them go and get one of those day one starting tackles that can move to left because the biggest need for this team going forward is going to be replacing Trent you can do that in this draft you can’t do this every draft
This draft is exceptionally rare and you have to take advantage of what this draft gives you you know this is Once In A 15-year draft at tackle get it done get what you need I I honestly I hope that they get like a high draic but I hope that they
