Good evening everyone welcome in it’s a beautiful Thursday evening it was almost 80 degrees here today it was awesome was so great love it when the weather starts to warm up uh I am Jason AKA woo JT train this is off rails we are going to

Knock out a Dinger draft tonight um this will be number 94 I think for me um probably going to finish somewhere in the like 110 and 120 110 to 120 range I think that sounds about right for me um a lot of news since the last stream

Um lot of pitchers getting hurt which is very very irritating Yuri Perez’s hands are made of paper uh he can’t stay on the field with blisters and cuts and all that which sucks Gavin Williams hurt his elbow throwing a weighted ball that’s fun so he’s going to start the season on

The I which is unfortunate I have 19% of Gavin will so I was not happy to hear that news but hopefully it won’t be too long of an absence um kod stingo is making a little progress so that’s good uh Garett Cole is dead his his elbow

Exploded um no time table for him so lots going on Edward Cabrera had a shoulder thing he should be okay but still shoulder things are always you know concerning Braxton Garrett still bouncing back although he’s like a late pick so it’s a lot going on in the

Pitching world and I think that uh if we have another year like we did last year with the rash of pitching injuries I think that’s only going to give more Credence to the zero pitcher type builds um trying to not spend too much draft Capital at the top which feels pretty

Good right now it’s kind of what I’ve been leaning towards so um and then big news uh Dylan CE is gone uh he has been traded from the White Sox to the Padres the White Sox got a lot back for him uh so I really do like that move for the

White Soxs I don’t trust them to develop those players at all so hopefully that works out for them um but they they did get a killing for him so uh but equally that’s a great move for the Padres and Ste has looked awesome so far in Spring um and when we look

At just kind of comparing uh Guaranteed Rate field to Petco uh Petco is definitely a better Park to pitch in so I’ve got Park factors here um and we can see that uh Guaranteed Rate field actually was pretty neutral last year which kind of surprised me because it it’s always been known as

Like a home run hitters park uh and maybe they’re a little more neutral just because like they don’t I don’t have home run hitters so maybe that’s part of it um but you can see Petco Park is way down there at 30th uh as far as total Park

Factor so that’s an upgrade for CE um so I I like that for sure um and then when we look at Team defense um hold those up to real quick give me just a second still trying to get this screen sharing on the fly down um just went to baseball reference

And just looking at standard fielding and you can I mean you can sort this any number of ways but um essentially this column the number of runs above or below average the player was worth based on the number of plays made this is as a

Team um the White Soxs are all the way down here at negative 64 uh with the Angels Athletics and Cardinals actually um and then the Padres are all the way up here at 37 they are fifth by this metric I like this one are good uh I have no

Idea what it means but I just like the uh the abbreviation are good because the white socks are bad so um that stat confirms that I have no idea what it means but uh if you’re second from the bottom in R good that must mean r bad so

Lobby needs nine people so it’s virtually empty so let’s go ahead and fill this bad boy up hopefully we can fill this guy up pretty quickly uh but yeah I you know going back to the cease thing um that feels like a really good upgrade for him both from a defensive standpoint and

Obviously I’m looking at last year’s defensive stats um I don’t have really much reason to believe the Padre’s are going to get much worse um the white socks allegedly bolstered their defense this year we’ll see what happens there but um again cees look awesome this spring

I’m at about 16% on him and that feels pretty good um I going to keep drafting him because he’s he’s one of those just absolute major major spike week guys who can just go absolutely bananas um you know any week um he could put up as many

Points as anyone yeah Ricky timing in here they bolstered their horribleness yeah they did um generally speaking if your team is bad adding Nikki Lopez and Paul D young to the roster isn’t uh doesn’t Inspire confidence always say my favorite move they made this year actually um was signing Martin Maldonado

With the explicit purpose of um helping the defense and Martin Maldonado is coming off literally the worst defensive year of his entire career by far um I found that very funny when I saw that tweet um I think it was hayon I saw it from first

And I was like is he is he good at defense though cuz you sure as hell can’t hit I know that much so I looked at his defensive metrics and he’s been good his whole career but last year he was ass so um so I just I just love the

Wh sock like yeah we GNA bolster our defense and he was not good last year something very comical and therapeutic and laughing at that for me so um God that franchise is such a disaster I was watching the uh latest stacking dingers episode um they’ve got a channel here on

YouTube that’s dark sheep um baseball B3 ISB over on X um Nez and they had um guy Jacob on today Jay Baconator you see him in the Discord and uh it was a fun episode but between the uh kind of subtle clowning of the White Sox organization and then some chatter about

A late field uh excuse me a late round outfielder really like um I really enjoyed that it was just kind of a confirmation bias Central for me it was it was fun U but if you haven’t seen the stacking Dinger guys um you know go watch them especially if you’re new to

Underdog uh the MLB best ball format I believe it’s their fourth episode they do just like a really introductory you know introducing the scoring and and just talking about some highle stuff uh that I found you know even doing all the drafts that I have being you know not

New to this I I still thoroughly enjoyed that breakdown that they did so they’ve got some good stuff going on over there we’re only waiting on three more people this is filling up okay I’m hoping we should be fine but I’m I’m hoping that this contest

Um the fill rate keeps up and we we get a full contest but it wouldn’t surprise me I mean we’re uh two weeks away from from opening day so um there inevitably will be a wave of uh new people casuals just kind of Dipping their toe in people

Chasing overlay stuff like that if they think it won’t fill so those lobbies are going to get pretty interesting they’re already starting to get pretty interesting seeing some uh seeing some weird stuff out there so this might be a good opportunity to take advantage of it

And I actually kind of wish I would have uh held back on my drafting a little bit more so I could crank out like 40 or 50 in this last two we period to kind of take advantage of what I think may be some easier lobbies because I know we’ve

Got some guys who are pretty sharp um who have already maxed out the contest so we won’t see them again unfortunately but I don’t know we’ll see so one more person to fill this thing up and then We’re Off to the Races um Let’s do let’s check in on our exposures while

We wait for this so I’m just going to look at the Dinger uh let’s do this all right here my top guys not much has changed with those top two I’ve been all over Chapman is still two rounds too cheap I don’t love San Francisco for him that kind of sucks um

But I Reese Hoskins price is very very fair now I still think there’s some room uh for him to go up a little bit and I love stacking bits and pieces of Milwaukee um I mean anytime I can take my trout I’m going to feel like we

Forgot how good this dude was and he’s going to be a huge part of my overall performance this year because I’m using a second round pick on Mike Trout and I’ve got him in almost 30% of my dinger entries so if he gets hurt or if he’s

You know not that dude anymore which he’s only 31 this isn’t football where like once you hit 31 they’re like oh hey sir do you need your Walker to go play um it’s a little different in baseball so I don’t think he’s washed yet but uh

We need to see him on the field so um and then let’s just look at the pitchers I really backed off of Carlos Ron but he’s still my fifth highest owned pitcher uh he looked a lot better in his last start so um I felt good about that and the draft started sorry

So um very very standard first 10 picks are all outfielders that happens in pretty much any draft every once in a while you’ll see somebody in like the Four Hole get like Bobby Wht or Freddy Freeman or something which uh I don’t really have a problem with that at the

Later part of the the draft but if you’re passing on sh Otani to grab Bobby Wht or something I think that’s a pretty massive mistake so ruy man grabbing schwarber seeing that a lot more people try to get ahead of this Outfield Cliff um pushing up schwarber into that first round that

Little bit so I kind of regret not taking him early in the year when he was a little cheaper uh but he is looking really really good in spring training Carly here pointing out my uh my sign looks good you can’t really see it

Committing that much draft Capital um probably going to have to shut down outfielder for a little bit but we’ll we’ll see how this works out I know Noah loves doing uh infield infield rounds two and three yeah that feels pretty good um just the amount of raw points that can

Be scored by these top tier outfielders and infielders um it’s one of the reasons why drafting pitching this early is so difficult to do um I’ll do it with Strider if I have an 11 or 12 pick I’m trying to get some Strider in in my

Portfolio because he’s not a guy that I want to be too light on because he’s insane um but like I was I have no Garrett Cole I might have like one share one or two shares actually um but he shouldn’t even be if he’s drafted he shouldn’t be until

Like the I don’t know 14th round at this point because he’s going to miss he’s going to miss a lot of time and we may not see him this year which is unfortunate it yeah no I agree with you that infield infield in uh rounds two and three

Especially if you’re in the front half of the draft like if you can get like uh kind of what um I’m aipia was doing here with Aaron judge and then Pete Alonzo and then like if Vlad is there or if Simeon is there Des Seager like all

Of those guys feel incredible to pair together we’re going to be up in a little bit couple more picks I really don’t like drafting a pitcher this early we’ll see what happens cormer is making us wait we wait patient oh okay PA enough let’s do tati trout Harris Oops I don’t have much B bashet and that doesn’t feel great so I’m going to go with bow and I pretty much have not drafted Blue Jays this year I’ve got some uh Vlad because I don’t want to miss the year that he does go nuts

Um I thought about Gosman there but I’m a little worried about his his minor injury he was dealing with recently so um and I feel like I keep drafting bregman over and over and over again which is not a problem at all because bregman’s very good but uh I don’t know

Just want to get a little different I have I have quite a few taes trouts starts so I need to differentiate a little bit Noah says Strider is the only pitcher I take at ADP until Lardo usually yeah that um that range where luzardo lives uh I’ll pull up the board

Real quick he is right in this range so uh this is like seventh round territory the like six through eight rounds that’s where the pitching really I think that’s where we’re going to make our money um tur scall going 48 he was going in the 60s right yeah so that’s really

Early for scoo ball I get it a little reach for hat for sock muffin Tio goes at 51 I’m a lipia is just going to draft every infielder in the draft that’s fine you do you boo boo Jazz I like that a lot really digging Jazz this year

Another guy who can’t stay healthy all right guys we’re gonna do it Kevin gosman’s still here at 54 um I don’t know if he’s going to be ready for opening day but I’m willing to roll the dice at this price so let’s do it let’s take the discount hope it works

Which is not going to happen obviously but I I if if I don’t make the final it means nothing so that is uh that’s my goal this year draft well enough to sneak a team into the final dance that’s it I can finish dead last in the final I don’t

Care I just want to be in the final that’s it should always be the goal O’Neal Cruz at 62 yeah he’s sted to climb he’s having a pretty crazy spring as well uh he has always been too cheap and I just whiffed on him I don’t I don’t I

Don’t know why I think it was because he’s in this range with a bunch of pitching and outfielders that I like and I just kept taking them over him and now you know his price is increasing so it’s getting a little harder um I think I’m only at like 6% on

Him that does not feel great but he’s gotten like he seems to have gotten tagged this is like frequently injured like he’s a frequently injured guy or whatever which is kind of ridiculous because last year he just made a horrific slide just just a terrible slide and wound up breaking his ankle

Ankle or leg I remember that game it was against the White Sox actually very early in the season it was uh disappointing to see all right cormer took Roy I was going to grab Royce Lewis there um let’s go ahead and pump these Dylan ceas

Paris um Lane Thomas is a good baseball player he is completely undraftable for me in this range I have none I had a little bit of him last year actually uh and he smashed smashed ADP last year Roofing man gets it it’s finals are bust if you don’t make the finals means

Nothing it’s it it just I just want to see I just want to see at the table you know I just want to be there with all my finalist friends and I want to lose to a team that has Andrew Ben and tendy on it

Um and cry myself to sleep but no that even though I lost to a team with a zero from Andrew Ben and tendy I made the finals and that’s that’s what’s really important and it was the friends we made along the way right or something I don’t know

Anyway uh pitching is falling in this draft a lot of infielders and outfielders going I’ll be very interested to see who sock muffin luzardo is here I mean picks here picks here sorry would be funny Cassis ah I thought you were going to get a picture there you L me in with

The time have to stay balanced yeah man I look I I appreciate that and it’s so hard to like you see that wave of purple there you know and it’s guys that you really like and it’s hard for me to not just like fall in love with the same

Guys or the same range of the same builds over and over and over again so you do kind of have to like force yourself into that you know 30% of the time that you’re talking about where you do something um different but uh guy I’m a whip you got Lardo there I

Mean I would I would have called that from a million miles away as well but he’s one of those like Lardo is perfect for this format because he’s so spiky um his bad starts are really bad but it doesn’t really matter in this format but his really good starts are really really

Good uh shoot let’s pull up the board sorry I forgot to did last few times Wyatt Langford at 79 did he go before Evan Carter no 57 okay I don’t think those two are going to flip EV Carter needs to slow down we’ve had a pretty massive run of purple here of pitches

Going I think Jordan Walker is the perfect example of excuse me um a guy we forget about because we want to focus on the shiny new object like the shiny new prospects um Jordan Walker is probably going to be awesome um we like we saw kind of

Glimpses of it last year we want to see him lift the ball more he he was hitting too many ground balls last year um that dude’s massive like I don’t think people understand how big this dude is um and he could be a problem so uh I was really

Hoping that he was gonna be mispriced I was hoping like he was going to be in the the 100 range or something like that when the contest first open um but he’s I think right where he should be so I don’t have too much of him but that

Could be a dude I look back on and like for all the talk that Wyatt Langford got we kind of forgot that uh Jordan Walker was was that dude is this uh is this the zardo you’re talking about I assume CU yeah I that was just that was just coming for

Bat um we could do the yandi Diaz thing um yandi boys unite right Noah um I think I’m going to do yandi actually did I miss it no I got him good cool how was for you Noah we had the um was joking with Noah last year on

Twitter about how we were going to start the uh yandi Diaz fan club because we were both like in love with him last year yeah see you know man you come in you show up you hang out I got a I got a show love so yandes boys unite

Um but uh you’re stronger performing teams on average with less injury risk um not 100% oh you’re talking about zero sorry chat moved a little faster on me though I was ready for so Noah says I think zero pitcher is so strong data is super convincing plus all the pitcher

Injuries compared to batters is so uneven yeah that’s true um the the pitcher injuries is is a problem um it’s one of the reasons I’m just trying to spread out a bunch of dudes and just hoping I have the right the right combination um so yeah I was in regards to Lardo but

Yeah you have stronger performing teams on average with less injury risk that’s true the data from last year showed that zero pitcher meaning like waiting until the eighth plus round to start taking pitching worked really well last year um last year was weird I think with a lot

Of failures at the top so I didn’t buy into that too much but I’m I’m really starting to lean into that mentality now um we’ve got a 323 be build and let’s do gosh darn it keep clicking that um I have tatis so let’s go ahead and take Bogarts here to stack with

Him I don’t really love Xander Bogarts um he’s not like he’s not a who’s going to score like 200 points in a week he’s not a Seedling guy but uh as a stack partner with tatis um you know Xander should score like 1300 points hopefully he’s healthy

This year he wasn’t really healthy much last year I think he was dealing with a wrist thing which those always linger um zero Roofing here or zero Roofing Roofing man saying zero pitcher for me going to test that theory um the the book ends I like those those

Spots the the one hole or the 12 hole to do stuff like that because you can get into one of these ranges where there’s fun pitching like the you know you get to like the 11th 12th round I think there’s a few fun guys there don’t check but you can just double

Tap a couple times and boom you’ve got four pitchers but yeah the zero pitcher thing is it’s it’s real and uh as that strategy continues to grow in popularity I think we’re going to see more and more people even even new people to this game um embracing that

So I think that I’ve kind of unconsciously been doing a version of zero pitcher most of my pitching starts in and we saw this on it was on Billy Jones’s stream a couple Thursdays AO go and we looked at my exposures some of my combinatorial ownership like on aunia teams is there a

Guy that I’ve drafted on 80% of those or whatever that’s what we’re looking at with combinatorial ownership um and then we also looked at um positions by round that I had drafted and my pitching number for like the seventh eighth ninth rounds was was pretty large um and I

Think you could consider a zero pitcher build like starting there grabbing a pitcher in that 789 range and then just waiting a little bit later so if that does wind up being the optimal strategy I’ve kind of been doing that all along um I have some Luis

Castillo I have some Pablo Lopez I have some Kevin gsman not too much though they’re just not guys that want to be at zero with and I feel like I’m drafting so many teams it’s like let’s let’s do a couple of things that may not be optimal

Just in case optimal isn’t optimal this year so kind of how I’m approaching it we’re two picks away from being on the clock um we’ve got a very balanced 333 build uh I drafted three outfielders to start and have not taken one sense and I think I want to draft blisters

Meoo AKA Yuri Perez uh his stuff is insane but like can we just put some gloves on him or something so he stops getting blisters because my God this dude the spring this it’s not good but I love his stuff like this this guy is incredible inred in stuff I’m a whip is

Definitely going to draft Nathaniel low here definitely just click his name just do it got to do it do it Jackson holiday boo you got to love having a terrible mustache on your team like uh Nathaniel Lowe’s mustache coefficient is higher than anybody else’s in Major League Baseball so you

Really got to back to that end to your decision-making um it’s not Financial advice but uh just should have done it I actually I’ve taken Nathaniel a couple times recently because he’s got this oblique thing um and so he’s fallen quite a bit I think I drafted him recently in like the

140s or 150s or something and like I’m cool with that like even if you miss you know like a week or two which hopefully that would be all it is uh he’s about as freaking boring as it gets with uh with this format but I don’t know he’s got an elite

Offense that he’s hitting in I’m a whia is not afraid of kodai thing’s shoulder thing like I respect that um Jared Kellick he’s uh he’s done being draftable I’ll make my pick here in a second and we’ll talk about why 433 build Hunter Brown goes

H I have trout I have too many trout and uh what’s his face Taylor W pairings I think I’m going to go with Josh Young here uh this dude was on the way to win the Rookie of the Year last year and uh then got hurt so um again just trying to

Get some exposure to that elite elite Texas offense um I don’t really mind him in that spot uh let’s do a quick team recap um we are through 11 rounds 443 build gsman cease Grayson and Yuri Perez are the rotation infield is boette Yanni Diaz Ander Bogarts and Josh Josh

Young um I don’t love the ceiling of this infield right now so I’m probably going to need to get some Boppers late uh and then Outfield tatis trout Harris still haven’t touched Outfield again um but yeah Jared Kellick uh a guy who I have absolutely zero of thank you

Uh the Braves signed Adam Duvall today to a oneyear three million dollar deal um and it has already been confirmed that they’re going to platoon so Jared Kelly is no longer an everyday player and therefore in my opinion is I wouldn’t say undraftable but uh his draft positions

Should not start with a one I think it should start in the twos I’m not really good at like prognosticating ADP though so I could be an idiot but point being uh I have zero Kellick and I will Contin continue to have zero calic all right I wonder if Michael King’s going

To be affected by the uh Dylan C trade at all I doubt it it’ll still probably a start every day for them but um Michael King’s got great stuff I just question like how many innings will they let him throw CU he’s I don’t think he’s ever thrown all that

Teams unstacked there smart people building similar teams by stacking the same players together yeah absolutely there are very very chalky pairings um I’m I lean more toward towards just play the best place but I especially with San Diego like I have a ton of Tes but I don’t really have him

Stacked with anybody so for me this build is different within my own portfolio like that literally that might be the first time I’ve drafted h on cam all year I have to look but it’s it’s not I can probably chop off three of my fingers and still count on my hand how

Many times I’ve drafted Kim so it’s pretty violent way to make a point but you know whatever no it definitely sees the opposite side there’s a lot of Merit to both very interesting stuff yeah I mean well the thing about stacking too is like you you gota you got to get it

Right I mean last year teams that stacked the Braves just I mean it was just a print Fest I mean you just absolutely smashed if you stack the Braves because they had you know aunia had the best season we’ve ever seen on this platform Ozuna was going in like

If you’re out here like forcing a stack of the Royals you’re probably that’s probably not going to help you all that much um Alex Verdugo is like super freaking boring but I do only have three outfielders right now you know what I’m just going to ride those outfielders um let’s go with Chuckles

Charley Morton yeah he’s old but they’re just the Braves are just going to let him just throw until his arm flies off um so he’s going to have a ton of opportunities to get wings uh wins quality starts uh still can strike guys out at a pretty good clip so um and I

Don’t have much of them so it’s like let’s get a little exposure here ruy man’s kind of the opposite of Noah about 60% stacked and I think like I think it’s important to I don’t know to Define what stacking means to us right because like I am much more inclined to do minis

Like two guys together three guys together I’m much more likely to do that than I am to do four or five guys in the same lineup um I don’t know if that’s correct um when we were looking at I believe it was the stacking dingers guy guys they did a episode

On if it wasn’t them if it was somebody else I’m sorry I watch I watch a few guys do this stuff but they were talking about uh the effects of stacking and how uh how the stacks were defined so the way that they looked at it was like if you

Had five to seven stacked hitters period on your team it put you in kind of one category if you had like 9 to 11 stacked hitters doesn’t mean they’re all on the same team you could have three different Min stacks of you know two guys each and

You qualify or you land in that that six player pool right so that was really interesting to see um it showed that that there definitely is Merit and stack but I don’t get too I don’t get too enamored with uh doing more than three guys I have some for fourman Stacks but

I don’t necessarily love it and I really don’t liking I really don’t like stacking like three or four guys in one position so like I’ve got Xander boget and Hassan Kim right I don’t think that there’s any way first off this team doesn’t need it but I don’t think

There’s any way I would draft um cronenworth here I would draft like he’s not the player pool but James Wood or somebody to fill up the Outfield um all right I’m just gonna bore myself to sleep with Alex Verdugo here I guess he’s fallen about 20 picks um Yankees offense should should

Be much better this year um so I don’t mind getting him 20 spots after ADP I’m not drafting him in the 150s but like like 170 180 not drafting dust Carlos Stanton and just not doing it ruy man it’s my tiebreaker for players that are similar 100% agree with that

Absolutely and we’re talking about stacking still um mostly two to three man Stacks yeah I think that’s the right way I think two to three man Stacks is probably ideal um I mean you could it’s not like this is a weekly scoring thing right so

You would need like a four or five man stack to go just completely nuclear for a full you know four or five game stretch in order for all parties involved in that stack to really make a difference I think um whereas football it’s just it’s it’s one week so this

Year if you had you know the Lions and the Cowboys stacked together I mean you were you were probably pushing winning your contest if you got to the final but that’s just one game one outcome whereas baseball’s you know multiples throughout the week so stacking is definitely important for

To draft a guy who’s got part of my like stupid little moniker in his name like Brian woo I mean wouldn’t it make sense for me woo woo JT train to have a guy named Brian woo I just man I fumbled that big time it’s a shame truly a shame

No what chiming in here stacking is the backbone of draft games it’s all about exactly where that lever is yeah 100% And like you know getting getting unique within your Stacks is the way to do it like if you’re doing Milwaukee which is easy to stack it’s fun to stack you do in

Yelich uh Hoskins adames churio not me buto um forgetting somebody contras South Relic like there’s a lot of options there if you want to get weird um one of my favorite late round targets or last round targets has been Garrett Mitchell and there’s a lot of risk there

A lot of playing time risk we actually we don’t really know if he’s actually good but the D was a first round pick um and he was being drafted in like every draft last year before he got hurt so I don’t know just kind of flag planting Garrett Mitchell is incorrectly not

Being drafted in most drafts I’ll probably end up like8 to nine% on him which might as well be 30% compared to the field but it’s only like eight or nine% of my portfolio so I’m cool with that um I don’t like Carlos Korea like as a person uh but he’s way too cheap

Right now can you hit enough home runs though I really need power like badly screw it Nolan Gorman stay healthy hit lots of bombs make me money please I really like no I really like Nolan Gorman I just hope that Oli marmal the uh manager and St Louis isn’t and

Just lets him play dude I was so mad when they signed Brandon Crawford uh Brandon Crawford is somewhere around 68 years old um he is a short stop who’s been in the league since I was but the young tot it feels like um really actually solid baseball

Not going to work this late in the draft so I just have to accept that these top three guys have to go off for this team to really really work we’ll see what these people in front of me do so far we’ve got a 664 build so we’ve

Got gsman CE Grayson Yuri Perez Tanner BBY and Charlie Morton uh and then the infields bashet Yanni Diaz Xander Bogarts Josh Young hang Kim Nolan Gorman and then the outfields Tates trout Harris for Dugo um projection systems really hate Joey menesses and I’m like I’m not like a joey manessa

Guy I was completely out on him last year his price was ridiculous but he’s going to play every day and last year he put up 1157 points in this format um and he was playing with a hurt knee pretty much all year and it obviously uh impacted his

Power um so I’m thinking maybe he’s actually a decent hitterish uh I don’t love the Nationals ballpark I don’t really love their offense but in the 17th round at pick 198 when I only have four outfielders I just kind of want a guy who’s going to

Be in the lineup every day and just hope he doesn’t suck I don’t necessarily know if that’s the the right line of thinking but um just just don’t suck Joey that’s all I’m asking he was great in the uh World Baseball Classic um last year that was

That was a lot of fun to watch that’s such a great event we got a got an early Nelson Velasquez here I’m a whip you buying into that that dude has insane power I just I question the playing time um I don’t know if they’re going to let him

Play every day but they did the uh Royals team name um they did release Hunter Renfro recently uh and I I mean that that should bode well for Nelson Velasquez right um so you know I wonder if that move was like to give Nelson more of a

Shot playing every day I I don’t know we’ll we’ll see what happens there but uh Nelson Velasquez hits the ball very very hard extremely hard so I was drafting him quite a bit when he was uh in the like 19th 20th round um and then it’s probably started to get a

Little too much for me I don’t want to be Overexposed to him yeah you you can dream yeah you can but I mean he’s like he just seems like the again we look at archetypes of players who can succeed in this particular format where yeah it’s over

The course of most of the season but the scores are weak to week like if he doesn’t play four games in one week okay fine you’re GNA get a zero but if he happens to play every day in a week and he happens to just destroy the baseball as is his

Profile uh he’s going to score you a lot of points that week so um let’s try to figure out I think I G to do a 686 here I think I might I think this pitching staff is solid enough and I just feel like adding another one is just beating a dead horse

To a point so let’s do do we do the max I just I can’t I cannot trust Roco baldelli to not screw around with these twins playing time but let’s let’s hope Max Kepler plays every day um he’s got quite a bit of Pop um I think I probably just shut Outfield

Off at this point just close my eyes and hope for the best I think I’m going to do a 686 let’s turn everything off except for infielder and like I said I need buffers so you’re going to see me draft two of my favorite late round infield targets that I think

Could could hit 35 home runs each God willing a lot needs to go right for that to happen but I think I’ve got a couple guys and no Josh Bell is not one of them never Josh Bell Jack flare steam is real he’s look awesome in Spring all

Right I don’t really like drafting catchers all that much but Francisco Alvarez looks like he might be legit um had a very solid rookie year last year um I think you know 35 home runs is obviously pretty pretty lofty but like he hit 25 last year and didn’t

Play the entire season um most of it but not all of it and in a rookie season 25 home runs I mean that’s that’s pretty solid uh so I have quite a bit of Francisco Alvarez I’m a I’m a big big believer in him in his bat um so

Just going to kind of hope I get him right I I really think I’m landing on and this this may be wrong and we’ll we’ll find out as the season progresses but I really think I’m landing on um if I’m going to have a heavy heavy exposure to a batter

Um I think that I’m gravitating more more towards having that heavy exposure be on one of these late round guys who may not necessarily always get drafted um and it kind of goes back to my Garrett Mitchell point I have 9% of him but if he’s only drafted in two of every 10

Drafts I mean my 9% might as well be I’m not a math guy but it might as well be like 40% because there’s less teams that have him on there so you know I I don’t know if that’s right to view it that way but

That’s how I’m viewing it um and so I think that’s kind of why I’m just like trying to flag plant on these late round guys because like if if a guy is who’s getting drafted in every single draft goes absolutely nuclear throughout the entire season like laye Thomas did

Last year his Advance rate was crazy uh so there’s a lot of teams that still have him so if you have 40% of a guy who’s now on 40% of advancing teams I mean your Edge is kind of erased um but like like if you overc

Commit to I see you Roofing man if you over commit to a guy like Garrett Mitchell right and then so much has to go right for this to happen but if he goes crazy if he’s the this year’s Lane Thomas or whatever he’s not being drafted that often so you retain that

Edge of being even if you’re only like 10% you’re still well overweight compared to the field so you retain that edge going into that next round I’ve been I’ve just been thinking about that lately and I you know I don’t know if that’s right you know hopefully there’s

There’s math people who may watch this or whatever if you want to chime in if that line of thinking is just flawed but I don’t know it kind of makes sense to me Noah wasn’t taking Alvarez for some reason but realized two weeks ago I’ve

Been Hing him now to check to catch up yeah he’s just like I I feel like he just got for got about for a while because there’s always infielders to draft at the end there there is no shortage of solid infielders to draft at

The end of the draft and I think it’s he just kind of like disappeared from our Consciousness if I really hated myself I could draft yoan monata but um I’m not feeling that sense of self-loathing this evening that would be required to do that so I think I’ll pass um

And you know following my theme of loving left-handed power hitters with back issues on this team brenon Lao come on down I love this this blurb back in Action I feel like that was a pun on Underdog’s part he’s had uh he’s had some back trouble and back trouble

Is never good um but Brandon Lao has a lot of power power a lot of power um playing time is obviously a huge concern in Tampa Bay his health is a huge concern but uh I mean the guy smashes the baseball and I’m just hoping I get lucky with him so let’s
