Hi Owen here from Callaway golf I’m at infinum golf club just south of Barcelona and it’s an exciting day for me because in my hands I’ve got the brand new paradigm AI smoke fairywood and this is going to be my first Hit okay so Paradigm AI smoke new for 2024 uh there’s four models available in the fairway wood range in my hands I’ve got the max version this is definitely going to be the most po uh we also have a draw version so if you’re struggling with that left to
Right ball flight it’s really going to help you straighten that up we have a Max fast so if you’re someone who needs a bit of extra speed bit of extra launch that is designed for you and then we have a triple diamond that’s going to be for the lower handicappers and our tour
Players so quite clearly segmented into four different models there’s a key technology in here in the form of the AI smartface you see that running through the entire smart family what we have done is taken real world data for the first time we’ve captured 250,000 swings from real
Golfers and applied that to our machine learning our Ai and our use of AI so we’ve segmented golfers into different categories those 250,000 swings were from tall players into higher handicappers who segmented that into different types of golfers and looked at how they attack the golf ball the sort
Of launch conditions that they produce uh the tort of Swing pass and created AI design faces specifically for them so you’re going to see these different products while they’re categorized in a certain way also optimized to the extreme so I’m going to give this a hit
So this is the max version as I said so looking down on at it um firstly you notice uh it’s a beautiful contrast between the carbon on top uh I’ll talk about that chassis in a little bit um and then the face itself so I got a 10
Sight blue in here 65s I’m using a foursight quad and the new Chrome tour X golf ball so excited about giving that a first hit as well okay lovely neutral ball flight there swing speed 132 carry 210 spin up at 33 so what you will see from this AI
Smart face is an improvement in dispersion so essentially we’ve created sweet spots all across the face depending on the the type of impact pattern that we expect from that for so the way the club face hinges those lumps and bumps behind the face that you’ve
Seen from us before the use of AI really Tak to another degree there so it does look lovely very neutral as you stand over the golf ball lovely sound as well hit that slightly low on the face but still got a lovely flight out of it
So that face working really well for me there 143 mph ball speed 220 carry 44 spin so Club doing what it’s meant to do right there lowest low low on the face the spin was up a little bit I’m going to move on to the maxd model
Here so one thing we have done as well is look at the carbon chassis here so we’ve improved that as well so compared to the Paradigm model we saved 24 G by changing the chassis uh 12 G of that has gone forward and lower down so you’re
Going to get a higher ball flight with lower spin so more of that Rainbow Ball flight that’s really going to help you and then 12 G has been used for thei property so that essentially makes the club more stable through the ball um less twist and you’re going to see a
Straighter ball flight so the D model we’ve used that mass property to to Really enhance the way the club Works in terms of straightening up that left to right ball flight so we should see this draw a little bit what’s nice here and what’s noticeable compared to other draw
Models in the past is that you don’t have this toad in look to it it’s very neutral so all of the technolog is working under the hood to help you turn that ball from right to left okay that’s interesting because I’ve actually hit that out to the right
A little bit off the toe and it has tried to turn itself back in right to left carry carrying speed were down a bit but I hit out the toe but again you’re seeing that dispersion pattern nice and tight so it’s going to help you
As a golfer for sure just going going to hit hit another one see if that really does turn over a little bit okay lovely so that did turn right to left a little bit felt quick as well quick for me 140 mph ball speed 234
Carry which is great for 3w for me uh up at around 24 spin it was a little bit towy but yeah doing what it’s meant to going to move I’m just going to hit one with the max fast so this really is not designed for me um it’s designed to help
That golfer with a slower swing speed that really wants a bit of extra distance but also wants to get the bolt up in the air and a bit more carry one of the things going to help this and you’re going to see this on the the Max
And the Max D as well is the tungsten speed cartridge in the bottom so I talked about the saving in chassis and the way we move that weight around we’ve also got tungsten lower down and further forward uh than never before so you’re going to see a higher ball flight from that as
Well so it’s going to help your launch conditions so just putting this Max fast down again pretty neutral I can already feel it’s lighter in the hand so um it’s going to feel quite different to swing this for me it’s also got a lightweight
Sha so you got tensi silver in here 40 G I’m used to swinging something it’s more like 60 or 70 G so it’s going to feel quite different okay wow that’s gone pretty high uh speed still there 142 mph but the spin rate is just gone through the
Roof so that is that AI smart face designed for that particular type of golfer lifting that spin up um yeah completely different we’re up at 55 spin so really significant so yeah if you want a bit more height a bit more carry a bit more distance that is going to be
The 3-wood for you so moving on to the triple diamond so this is going to be designed for the better player the Tour player it’s probably the one automatic I think I’m going to play but I need to go and get fitted to make sure um there’s a
Weight in the front there that can be changed if needed so if you want to bring that CG position down and further forward reduce that spin you can do we got a Denali black 70 G 6.0 so completely different to the last one for sure so first thing you see here is a
Shorter squatter head call a bit of a lower profile as well very very neutral at dress see what this does going to be a bit of a different ball flight I would imagine okay cut that a little heavy yes spin rate’s right down 29 that was a bit
Heavy kind of 130 speed carry down so I’ve definitely caught that a bit heavy hitting these ones off the deck so not making it so easy for myself let’s give this one another go okay that was really nice penetrating incredibly neutral ballf Flight 138 mph 218 carry 33 spin yeah lovely ball
Flight so kind of looking at this fairywood for me but it’s really important that you go and get fitted there’s lots of options in the range lots of different shaft options lots of different Loft options um really important whenever you uh think about buying a new golf club you need to go
