Kind tell me you what what was what was the energy what was all going around at CLA you know um energy was not surprised but very excited because you know we went undefeated like you know give us our and uses oh you see went undefeated

So you know cops were always up it was never in question so the number one seed was you know it was fun watching them watch other reveals because then like every time LSU came up they booed uh Iowa came up and it got dead silent and

Then there was like a smattering of boo so I could I was I was like are y’all do y’all ha I don’t know what I didn’t know how to read that one but yeah the energy was good um you know Don was excited she said we get off work if the game is

Before five she’ll give everyone permission so you’re hearing it here now uh committee or uh noat space exclusive like off work early if it’s before five there you go she wrote the doctor’s note that’s that’s exactly let’s let’s get into this bracket let’s start off with South Carolina’s region uh obviously the

Number one seed first off the name of the day for the selection committee was run it back that was the name across the board and it started off from the very top with this bracket here with South Carolina because immediately my very first thing that I saw was North

Carolina at eight and and we know that that game got a little got a little chippy in that one just a little bit you know teammates holding each other back or whatever and oh a whole bunch of stuff in that one so I I know that was kind of

The first match up that came to mind but but Greer let’s start with you it just kind of initial takeaways from this whether it be a matchup a seating what what what are you taking away from this region I mean I’m going to go down to

That seven and 10 matchup with Old Miss and Marquette uh you know Marquette I think they’ve been ranked in the top 25 all season long um obviously coming out of the Big East which isn’t the SEC but what does that even mean anymore like this year what does that even mean um

And so that’s that’s the matchup that I’m really intrigued by uh Marquette you know an experienced team um old miss you know transfers kind of rag tag team that coach Joe’s got going down there so interested to see I I recall exactly where that matchup is going to be played

But obviously like a neutral site so um super interested in that one and then Notre Dame getting in the bracket again right they started the year playing uh South Carolina in Paris and went on to win the ACC conference attorney title um after finishing like fourth or fifth

During the regular season in the ACC so you know Stars right in Hannah hadalo um the entire South Carolina Squad um and then Oregon State right like just you talk about a team that is incredibly balanced right they have guards they have post depth um I feel like they

Present the biggest challenge to South Carolina in this bracket but you know South Carolina’s 32 and0 so who’s to say what CH for that Tyler I think the fact that you went straight to South Carolina North Carolina and you missed what might be the most compelling potential rematch of the tournament South Carolina

Presbyterian we all want rematches and who doesn’t want to see a South Carolina Presbyterian potential rematch um if I’m Courtney Banger I am sending a cease and assist to the NCAA tournament committee this is the third straight it’s the third straight year you’ve had to see

The buzz saw known as da stale in South Carolina in either the second round or the sweet 16 I would be furious cuz it’s I’d like to see somebody else third times a charm maybe but I really doubt it um I love the FGCU Oklahoma match

Um that to me is an upset special I think uh that’s that’s like a Styles make fights a matchup in Pace a matchup in offensive Firepower this is what Carl mesco teams do they shoot the ball and Oklahoma is the type of team that likes

To run out with Pace as well well and so if you’re kind of in a track meat game Florida gol Coast might be the kind of team that could run with you um uh Indiana fairfield’s gonna be interesting I don’t know if that’s I don’t know if that’s the matchup Fairfield necessarily

Would have woned but I actually do think that they can get out and run maybe a little more than Indiana wants to um Oregon State obviously I that’s my pick I think to make it to the elite eight even Past Notre Dame I think that game

Between the two of them is going to be a total in complete War but I I think Oregon State man they I think they are so criminally underrated I I really really do uh and speaking of agendas yeah really right oh don’t worry Pack 12 guy is gonna come out in Spirited

Defense of it beloved coug in just a little while yeah um I I don’t want to like expend that bullet Now by talking about Texas A&M but I will say I am the most conflicted on Texas A&M I don’t think the resume matches you’re 6 and 10 and

Play you don’t really have a lot of Marquee wins you have Kansas and Cal as your Marquee wins you had a loss to Purdue you have one win against a a six seed plus team in SEC play you beat Tennessee once you lost uh both times in

South Carolina both times to LSU so I don’t see it from a resume standpoint that being said we get an India Rogers NCAA tournament appearance at long last after after USC that’s right hello never just it Bingo like we have wanted this on the west coast for a long time she

Didn’t make it with the mark TR USC teams those teams that had India Rogers and Alysa py mind you and still could make a tournament she goes to Oregon they start to fall off they don’t make the NCAA tournament while she’s there now she goes to Texas A&M they squeeze

In but they’re in and if real hoopers real hoopers know that you have wanted this player in the NCAA tournament her and Jazz shell is going to be an elite capital E Elite guard matchup in six and 11 I don’t think it’s the hardest bracket for South Carolina I do not

Think this is a gauntlet by any means but I do think this ma uh bracket has some of the funnest matchups like if you are just a basketball purist you want to watch the games based on what is exciting schematically this is the bracket to watch I love love the games

In this bracket I love the matchups and the team builds in this bracket yeah Johnny for you are you is anything here worry you is is Oregon State the team that has the most worry for you because I I mean this this feels like it worked

Out just about as well as it could have from a South Carolina perspective here uh no it’s the uh National Champion runner up UNCC tar Hills because didn’t they get a banner or something for like holding South Carolina to like their lowest total or something that year so

That’s who worries me um yeah kind of to Andrew’s Point like I’m conflicted because I was one of the people that was kind of like this is a little bit of a Down year for the SEC so I don’t mind leaving off you know just chopping it

Off right here at like three maybe four and you know see y’all next year but my daughter laali you see her March you know so I’m always happy but yeah like that Oregon State the Pack 12 it’s interesting because those games are always fun you know you see the USC Stanford career

Uh each installment has been fun so we don’t really get to see a whole bunch of like the Pack 12 versus South Carolina so that that is going to be an intriguing one just how they handle that style since Oregon State’s been through that Gauntlet but you know definitely

See how this installment of the Carolina battle if if if they get there you know I don’t want to you know look too far ahead you know we are projecting here I I you know first off I want to say that you said USC Stanford and I thought of

In years past with Jenny Baron when it comes to being able to slow down there was times like especially I remember last year in March where when they played UCLA and they just couldn’t slow down and and because of that they never were really able to um kind of get

Comfortable in in games and I think that that’s something that they’re now capable of doing which you know definitely makes me more confident when it comes to them avoiding upsets um but I mean I I think that across the board that South Carolina and we’ll dive more

Into this you couldn’t really be much happier with with this bracket I mean there’s Oregon state is the team that is the threat to me if you were to pick one and even then like South like like any any South Carolina not making it to the

Final four would be a genuine shock like and and obviously like they’ve been the best team this year but but if if they don’t make the final four that is that is 100% that is a drastic shock we’re breing that down yes yes so that is that

Is 100% I mean there’s I don’t want to say no excuse but there’s no excuse to to not make the final four this year you’re undefeated you know you’ve had everything up to this point you’ve been able to win now is not the time to start playing especially with a bracket like

This looking at looking at the chat a little bit because uh we we are we’re tapped in with the chat uh South Carolina has an easy bracket they are definitely winning it all well I can see it hold on a second back Theus I mean listen the number one

Overalls like it’s still very common you know I mean it’s not no it it is it’s just I team and I think that record that it’s technically still a rebuild and I know nobody wants to hear that because it’s like you w the conference Championship you’re undefeated you’re number one seed

Do big girl things so I’m okay with it I’m okay with the expectations but just from a rational standpoint knowing that coming in this team was young and fun and supposed to be unpredictable it just we’ll see what this is and how my nerves handle it I am with you Johnny I

Am I’m hesitant to make this about titles or bust for South Carolina because here’s here’s the tricky component of this right we’re kind of at that point with Don Staley and this team like there’s only so many times you can do 32 in one or whatever and make it into the final

Four before we start to put you in the Gino War aat Summit type tier of all all that matters is the titles and the legends that you are chasing but I also don’t want to turn South Carolina every year and and I’ll freely admit I I kind

Of did this this year of like well I mean they’re going to win by 30 over Kentucky so why you know what what is there for me to watch until we get to march with them um so I I’m hesitant to do this because I don’t want it to turn

Into this being a situation where they are a team that we don’t care about until now and and I worry that if the priming of the narrative with South Carolina is they’ll win a title prohibitively if we are not unintentionally feeding that notion that

This is not a team that we need to even worry about watch talk about or consider until this exact time in the year and and I’ll I’ll fully cop I did that this season but I’m I’m hesitant to dive for into that because if something happens

Where they don’t win a title do they suffer the repercussions of that next year where it turns into we don’t care until late March with you guys yeah yeah I mean that’s it’s the the expectations obviously now you you have program expectations that are different from yearby year expectations and seeing how

And I honestly do think that it’s a very I don’t I would have guessed had that not been the case that this would have been been the outcome regardless I don’t think that Oklahoma was going to be a top 16 seed after dropping Kansas to end

The season and being blown out by Iowa state in the Big 12 tournament I think if they win either of those games then it’s a lot different conversation for top 16 um but I also think that’s a very real possibility that they just didn’t want to explain that so here you get a

Tournament but obviously that’s not some like that it was a a close game not some drastic loss to a bad team or anything of that nature I mean that is immediately a game that you Circle obviously I mean you have the Colorado LSU rematch in here from from the very

First day of the Season which is another interesting one and then the big one that you know every every Network person is fingers crossed for the possibility of Iowa LSU at the regional at the regional I mean just there some of the rematches here and that’s not into the

Possible matchups that we have with a UCLA like w within this bracket so I mean this is far and away for me the toughest region like I don’t I I think it’s pretty obvious here that this is the toughest one um Greer starting with you again takeaways any any just biggest

Biggest thoughts here I mean I’m definitely looking forward to the Caitlyn versus Caitlyn matchup if it happens right withit Kaitlyn chin leing won the uh IV Conference tournament right and and they been in and out of the top 25 all season long right looking forward to that if it

Happens but if it doesn’t happen JJ quinly and Caitlyn say about it she one of the best defenders in the country so she’s probably regardless that’s that’s gonna be a great great round of 32 whether it’s Caitlyn versus Caitlyn or JJ versus Caitlyn like uh the Caitlyn through weekend one are gonna be

Going through a gaunlet um and then then I’m looking at Colorado and Drake right like Colorado another Drake Colorado another team out the Pack 12 who kind of stumbled right as the season went on but has some amazing signature wins this season and they’re a team who made it pretty far last year

And they pretty much brought everybody back right so um experienced they know what it means to to be playing with their backs against the wall and have to produce so Jaylen shrod and March like when you talk about a player who just embodies March I Jaylen is like a

Perfect example um of that and then um you didn’t bring it up but Louisville being haly yes like I can’t wait for you to talk about it because Jeff Andy subbed each other all season long all season long Jeff walls Revenge game baby I’m ready I’m ready Jeff do you see

This year they’re one of the best in terms of advanced stats offensively they’re one of the best offensive teams in the country with the advanced stats I don’t think LSU is going to get beyond the elite Aid here I really don’t I think look I I think we sleep on UCLA

I do have plenty of questions about can Corey close go ahead and do this you know can can she be the one to coach them out you know deep into the tournament like this because we’ve seen situations Pack 12 tournament where there were some yeah there’s some hos

And some late game executions where you’re wondering what exactly is going them yeah but at the same time they have so much talent they have all the talent they need to go far they I think are the team in the tournament with the most variance especially in light of these

Matchups right I think you could see them having a sketchy win over Cal Baptist you could see them potentially lose to UNLV but if they get that far I think pound-for-pound they have all of the players to match up with an LSU they have the athletic guards they have the athletic scoring

Wings they have a big that can match up with Angel down low they have a a deepish bench with guards and wings that can match what they’re bringing Off the Bench for LSU and given LSU is going to be playing probably just seven or eight deep in this tournament this year um and

Yeah man Louisville I mean I’ve said this in in five out Jeff is the one who knocks you think Jeff’s dead you think the you think you think the day is you you think the day has come you think oh Jeff Jeff effed around and now Jeff’s

Know I know for me I mean I and a player that as we’ve been watching games on playback which we’re going to be doing uh throughout this tournament so make sure tapped in but a lot games have been Pack 12 ones and UCLA has been a team

That we have seen pretty frequently as we watched on there I’m looking at Kiki rice and and seeing what level of consistency she can hit throughout this tournament um because when she’s on and can look like the the calro player that she has the potential to be and can be

Man UCLA is terrifying but she has a tendency sometimes to kind of Fade Into the background and and Charisma Osborne has has done as much she can at different times throughout the season to kind of keep this UCL team afloat and there’s honestly when it comes to um

Kind of senior guards older guards you’re not going to find any better than Charisma Osborne to try and keep your team afloat and and kind of get through the Muddy Waters of some of these games but that’s just something when you when you get deeper into the tournament and

Everyone has star power uh you you kind of need all Hands-On deck and and that’s when I’m going to be kind of interested in seeing uh how Ki rice can can do that I think she’s more than capable of doing it um but it’s it’s it’s a matter of

Doing it at that point so any final thoughts before yes any any final thoughts before we move on to the next region here I mean we I feel like we pretty much if Iowa wins if Iowa wins the national championship I I don’t want to hear anything about their Road they will

Have earned it I think they they curious real late if we get a Iowa UCLA it’s gonna be like beach curls versus pixie cuts that’s also just keep that on your radar oh yes that’s this is storyline to watch is the haircuts going on here that’s it’s my

Personal favorite um know next next region2 BS speaking of C girls Southern California a one seed I mean the the juju effect I mean I we we’ve covered USC similar to how it just said about UCLA te that we’ve watched a ton on playback I don’t think our thoughts on

Juju Watkins are hidden at all she is here like forget future star forget up next they’re the number one seed and and the biggest thing is I’ve never been more confident in USC till just now and I talked about it uh in my recap from the patw tournaments when we were there

With boots on the ground but seeing the way that they won that pack 12 Championship final with MacKenzie Forbes dropping almost a career high seeing the others around Juju where gu guu may have had her worst game of the season like and they won like relatively comfortably

Against Stanford so I’ve never been more comfortable than now than this moment I’ve had confidence but never more than now in what USC can do in this March Madness Tournament because of the way that everybody else has shown up and has showed that if Juju struggles if guju

Gets taken out of a game we don’t just we’re not just done right at that point that is because there was times and and at at the press conferences and everything that’s been a growth because uh lindsy gotley talked about it how there were times early in the season

Where they would lose out on 10 runs when Juju had to go out for foul trouble or things of that nature early on in the season so this hasn’t been a forever thing with this team this has been a growth factor that we’ve seen with the

Others of USC and now I mean it’s it really couldn’t be happening at a better time than now and seeing the way that they won that that pack 12 Championship um was was Major but but Greer I see them Huskies yeah you see on the three l

Number three how I was hoping for a two seed you know being like the eight here we go but you know whatever I still feel like really good about our chances to come out of this bracket I do think um again like this is the messy light kind

Of bracket I think um right with the potential uh Yukon and Ohio State matchup and right the the Buckeyes were able to beat the Huskies last year in the sweet 16 um but go going back to the top really right I think I’m looking at that like that Kansas and Michigan I I

Am very excited about that like just when you again like uh uh I think Andrew likes to say this all the time Styles make fights right and like these teams couldn’t be more different in how they approach things Kansas is a amazing defensive team and Michigan like

Absolutely needs to score and the thing is and what’s been interesting and what we saw in in the reason because Kansas was not in the field for a decent amount of time it was the back half of Big 12 tournament play or a Big 12 Conference

Play excuse me that that they got there and that’s been on the back of Somaya Nichols who was another freshman that I feel has been so underrated but she’s been averaging like 20 points a game over the course of like the last like seven or eight of of Big 12 Conference
