The first te is is definitely more nerve-wracking than any first t- shot the feeling the atmosphere you get around here is unlike anywhere else you have fans on both sides 50 people deep it’s a special situation on that first te you kind of get the first te Jitters
And a little bit of nerves you’re anxious to get going more eagerness just to hit the first t- shot it’s a dream come true to be able to stay on that te the final quest for Augusta Glory begins on the first T four please four please four please
Now driving driving on Q the mind is transported to a kaleidoscope of Master’s memories yes sir the return to Glory a life changer what a comeback the Green Jacket is 18 holes away but the first shot feels heavier weighted by pressure and Prestige the crowds around you and your
Name’s announced pleas pleas and then it just goes dead silent you can’t hear a thing a lot of thoughts go into your head there’s a green jacket on line this year’s Champion will have conquered not only Augusta National but also the external elements of Mother Nature and the internal forces of nerves and
Expectations two major Champions buying for their first Green Jacket one looking to remain at the Pinnacle of the golf world another looking to return to that Summit It’s the final round of the Masters and the honor is Yours four please now driving Brooks [Applause] kcot oh my this is left of left I’ve never seen a miss one that far offline four four please now driving John R Tom was asked about this shot he called it an iconic t-shot everything you see around here is Iconic it’s not the easiest opening
T-shot says Ron go it is is it enough to get to that bunker no so it will be fine in the [Applause] Fairway they both backed off driver D yeah I think that’s the correct play obviously Brooks made a bad swing but the Fairway is wider because of that
Club Choice here’s the third shot for havin up ahead at one [Applause] not an easy putt but a chance to get out of here with a four to two see if Rose can convert that Exquisite little pitch from the right side yes sir little hula hoop
A nice start for Justin Rose 4-4 at the first can’t win so a little bit like mat’s effort just pulling up five 6 ft short 10 years ago he was inducted into the Hall of f he won his Masters 31 years ago some call him boomber some Freddy Fred Couples huge Ovation there
At 12 as we go back to the First with hain’s attempt to par well done yes reminds me of the put he hold at 17 this morning to save [Applause] par what must kle do pantley is two back of hobble and five back of capka at the
Top oh he’s got to start by making this and then hit a good t- shot down number two if he does that he can reach that green and two and Eagle comes into play but make this first you shake your head you say I’m in the Fairway hain’s got a very difficult
Pitch Out under some limbs a number of trees he makes four I make five it’s hard to swallow cley’s back to five under in a tie with Cam young and Gary Woodland Russell Henley D’s going to be following his final tandem capka I’m just anxious to hear
Donnie just where this one ended up it’s in the ninth Fairway jym uh it will be a blind second but I don’t think it’s going to be any problem for him to get the ball over the trees and if your silver lining is really silver he’s got a great
Angle now that’s some positive Thinking the total is 215 197 to the front um 220 you see a group coming up the ninth right at the elbow even if it doesn’t get there even you hit six you can actually see the pin there this [Applause] is got a lean on his man Ricky Elliott to get a good
Yardage from over here spot that you don’t expect to be be good baby good not going to be able to see it land but could hear it maybe he’s got the poting surface that’ll be just fine there got it to pretty much whole High think he got the yardage yeah that’s
Great work from Ricky Elliot that ball came so close to clipping those Pines on the way past great trajectory control and what about Ram Dy he’s got seven iron in hand 162 total the ball needs to stay in the air 156 hugging the right what a terrible mistake that is there for
Ram had the advantage kka found his way out of trouble trouble and now poor Miss over to 12 just 160 yards 161 yards today Breeze right at his Back swing really has not not changed over the years still creates a little little lucky between the two Bonkers there protect the back of course it’s been a Monumental week for Freddy became the oldest player ever to make the cut 63 and another half of a year a few more
Days and of course players like Justin Thomas or Mao did not so that’s an achievement and it’s another record for Freddy we got a six here’s Cameron young for par currently at 5 under backs away a second down cam three under for the round and he will remain in that
Position three birdies got off to a great start at the first and second and Fred Couples Champion 31 years ago made that same stroll many you remember when he played the 12th hole his ball hit the uh area right in front of the green did not roll back into the
Creek let’s go back to one and M’s looking at what he faces here from right of the green this is not undoable on the UPS slope will help I think just a little bit of softness in the grein will help as well well not only not undoable in 2011 when
Charles schwarzel won he was almost in this identical spot and he knocked it in for a birdie on his way to winning 13 of 16 scrambling so far this week looks like he’s going to try and land it just short bump it in there he wanted something much closer than
That yeah once it gets to the hole it starts running away right Miss is what you’re trying to avoid to that whole location speed will be the biggest part of this for Brooks uh just about whole High the last 4 and A2 ft goes into a bow moving
To the right where the hole is cut great angle here to see how much break he’s playing wonderful time quite fortunate after a very poor t-shot looks like he’s going to get out of here with a p Trevor it was so bad it was good that’s how is sometimes 32 years old the
Same age Fred Couples was when he won the Green Jacket speaking of Freddy his second at 12 Still Got The Touch it’s well played might see that shot a few times today with his whole playing down Breeze and starting to FM up to the opening hole Yeah an early important one
Putting started to get a little looser as the morning progressed but he came out and hold putts at 78 n that we all in about this range whatever he was feeling that cold start to the morning see if we can get that Vibe back again right here safe part here you go
Pars to start I know it’s more than just a two-man race but these last two are so similar in physique their game their attitude just a couple of big bad brutes that’s right major Champions former world number [Applause] ones let good eight and Jordan spe here at the par five this for
Birdie 15 ft away that’s more like it just a little shaky at times with the flat stick but his iron play and tia green play has been fantastic this season on the way back now over at two Sam bannett the young amateur trying to become the first amateur to win
Here it’s been an exciting week for him playing in the final grouping in the third round starting with a couple of 68s excellent play for the USM at a champion here we are up the 12th Frank thank you a check him with Fred Couples just brushes that
In he loves those place keep coming back as long as that back holds up swings long enough to 10 and siah theala our first look at the 10th today chamelia this just outside 25 ft and it’s another birdie for Siah and he is right there for under now what an open just looking what the gala has done what cam young has done Sheffer and SP nichelson nean Woodland they’re all making birdies the top two have opened with bars that’s a good start birdie hole coming up final round of the
Masters the sun has risen at last after all that cloud cover happy Easter everyone from Augusta well folks 60 years ago in 1963 the first honorary starters ceremony was held at Augusta featuring Jack Hutchinson and Fred McLoud that tradition continued Thursday morning as Gary Player Jack Nicholas Tom Watson along with chairman Fred Ridley welcome the world to the 87th Masters good
Morning my name is Fred Ridley and on behalf of the membership of Augusta National Golf Club it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 87th playing of the Masters Tournament thank you all for being with us first on the tea it is my great pleasure to welcome back golf’s
Preeminent Global ambassador from South Africa please welcome Mr Gary [Applause] [Applause] Player next 60 years after his first Green Jacket we proudly welcome back our six-time Masters champion ladies and gentlemen Mr Jack [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Nicholas now on the tea we welcome back two-time Master’s Champion an eight-time major Champion please welcome Mr Tom Watson [Applause] ladies and gentlemen the 2023 Masters is now officially underway enjoy the tournament just an amazing amazing [Applause] scene that was Thursday morning now here we are at the second always at feet as we watch our penultimate group teeing off at the second always a little bit of a wait here at
The second because the group ahead is waiting on the green so they have to wait at the tea that is perfect over to six and on the T defending Champion Scotty schuer that remains for a two Scot four under and we go back to the second and the smooth swinging Patrick kle three
Birdies for three days this will be perfect he’s driving it well Trevor ooh and gets the big kick forward driving distances up there 310 as well on average which is very good down to the flat much easier second now Russell Henley is he going to
Use the bank on the left and long or is he going to go high and try and stop it no he’s using the Left Bank using it well yes sir wonderful touch the players practice all these in their practice rounds they know where the flags will be each day
And today pretty much traditional Hall locations Final pairing sitting on the chair just a little uh chat on the bench good buddies they seem to be having a good time during the third round as well that always helps if you’re relaxed having a good time to the ninth Jordan Speed coming into the
Ninth all location just like the third round down in the front level oh yeah good and a bit of a roller coaster around so far for spe four birdies two Bogies nice look for his fifth biry in this first nine back to two two time Asia Pacific am Champion hii Matti first
One came here when low Amer honors went back and defended that title and now he’s got a green jacket in the closet as well as Master’s Champion could he get a pair of both as we go to Six and Scotty shefford for birie was up and out of that one
Quickly so that’s a disappointing part three and we go back to two this will be a memorable up and down for Russell Henley that was a delightful chip for the Georgia Bulldog moves to six under outright fourth currently as we head back up the hill in
A little wait Victor holand set to go 245 [Applause] oh it’s a good looking line if he’s got the length unfortunate to get that soft bounce there I thought he flighted it down low enough to get a kick forward yes I agree Trevor that could quite easily have gathered a little momentum
Over the Ridge and got close you’ll ever forget that double eagle of Louis wens from a similar spot back in 2012 that was a four iron as well from [Applause] 253 but can’t lay is a lot closer and a good angle bring it down on the right half of
That leader board you’re going to catch the ridge when you played Trevor did you use the ridge did you try and use that little front narrow opening and then run it around off the ridge I always did and I thought it was a good play because you
Hit Hitting off of this down slope so the ball is going to be flighted a little lower than [Applause] normal once again good shape just a little soft there with the bounce but certainly the right idea popular spot today the hole only playing 4 and a quarter because of the
Helping win and most players hitting in there with irons just a short wait you see there the whole averages easi as hold at 4.6 no Eagles in the third round though we had six the first two days let’s see how Brooks adjusts after the huge pull off of the first team
With three-wood here in the third round driver today though doy probably didn’t trust the three-wood after the one at the first maybe not oh and he’s carried the bunker that’s a good hit yeah 318 to cover that bunker well done so that’s down there about 350 nice
Little smile from Ricky probably a Ry smile like why didn’t you do that on the first let’s go to nine be for birdie and it is his fifth of the round moves into the top [Applause] 10 back to two also with driver for John 372 yesterday off this te in those
Conditions yes been turning the draw here the first three days but this seems to be hung out see if he can carries the bunker and where it finishes down almost down into the trees behind the fourth t as long as he’s got a swing it looks
Like he does Trevor should be okay just just some pine straw there and may have a little angle problem with trees in front but uh no damage they walk down the hill here it’s about 30 yd drop from the te to the green as we go to the pass three four
And with the winds gusting it’s shle on the T playing 228 today at the fourth hole oh and that’s a beauty from Xander to 5T and a great look at birdie for Xander [Applause] Schley back to two we’re seeing seen these puts quite a bit so far
Today Victor hin of course had an unbelievable second nine this morning had five birdies in a row from 11 through 15 got himself back in to this tournament most of the players that use lines Trevor they’ll just use it as a bit of a reference on these extra long
Sloping putts it’s not like any exact line like the short Parts is it yeah just to give you a nice window into the area that you want to start it in you could see his eyes moving left to right trying to picture a spot to where he wants that ball to just
Trickle over the crest of the Ridge and then fall its way down to the hole and factor in the wind as well as it comes down the slope it’ll be coming with the breeze exposed greens the wind makes a difference this one you almost got to get a little
Past and then it’ll come back towards the hole good speed but just not high enough up that slope you talked about played well at the Open Championship last year as well so is doing well in these big events as we go to 13 and we’ve got Meo Pereira who came
So close to winning the PGA last year before t-shot got away from him on the 72nd in Southern Hills his third shot into the [Applause] 13th what a great feeling that is nice bounce back off to the issues at 12 those are the kind of Sunday RWS we look
Forward to at the Masters triple bogey Eagle back to back what a game well that’s go to two yeah what a game indeed we know all too well TR Patrick kley has said that he absolutely loves this place because he loves fast greens and he loves the fact
That the greens are really slopey and fast and in fact it makes it easier for him to read the putts and to see the ball breaking into the hole as we look at John Rams ball back on top of the hill decent lie see if he has any uh lim issues
Between he and the green there’s nothing between him and the green wow that’s a good that’s a very fortunate [Applause] break earned low Amer honors here in 2012 struggled early on in his career for a few years with back issues took him a while to get back to
The level that we’ve been accustomed to seeing him the last few years here is looking so far left look at that he’s starting this well LIF of his golf bag mhm he’s going to make a u-turn on him it’s like aiming to a spot where you
Want the ball to get to and then fall down the slope wonderful Speed very nice effort there for Patrick kley will be just a tap for the birdie erase that bogey from the first and get back to six under at the fourth choffle for his birdie after the excellent t- began his week watching his Alma moer San Diego State playing the national championship
Game a great run by the azex coming up just short against Yukon out of the Fairway at seven Scotty Sheffer with his second and that’s an excellent shot by sheffler but he was happy he was able to keep it together his emotions during the Champions dinner on Tuesday night that he hosted to
Two yeah Victor hoflin will have a birdie putt just a a note 20 years ago Mike we became the first Canadian to win The Masters back in 03 Adam Scott 10 years ago the first Australian Matana with the first man from Japan to win a major and
Uh he could become the first man from Norway to win a major well he was knocking them in on the second nine this morning it’s a disappointing three put so Victor remains eight under three back through the opening two holes Trevor really only the only hole in the first seven that you’re thinking
About birding or think you need to birdy yeah that’s a very good point cuz one you’ve got all the nerves as canl goes ahead and Pops this in for his four so one you just trying to get off to a solid start then like you say two’s the
Opportunity and then really from three through six you just got to hang on till you get that whole location in the bowl at seven and then the par five8 now it’s all about contact from the pine straw make sure you can get a good solid stance The Stance is I think what you
Need to be aware of it can be just a touch slippery especially after the rain we’ve had that’s a four iron amazing how good a condition they’ve got the course in congratulations to all the the ground staff wonderful effort 230 to that front edge well he found that front left
Bunker in the second round when he hit a seven IR in there this would be a long long bunker shot now an ideal drive for books 10 yd closer 220 to the front 248 in a whole location of I’ve SE I know you’ve seen it thinks if you can get it
In the center will Fe toward it take it Green’s been a lot softer than we’re used to because of the rain body so it’s not as fiery getting back to the pin that’s five iron can it carry no may have to use the back slope for his bunker shot there
Not not easy to get that out of there and to stop it close to the hole ah had one a little slick po here for Russell Henley oh it’s still going and Henley makes three that his win in Mexico that was his first win for five years he can roll
It so he’s only four back seven Sheffer for his birdie and that’s been the problem this week through three rounds tied for second Greens in regulation but he has just not been able to get his putts to drop during his title defense to 10 good birdie opportunity here for
Jordan SP from the center of the green spe currently three under on his round four under for the tournament check that five under three birdies in a row for Jordan spe 8 through 10 that’s the way you want to get started into this second nine on Masters Sunday this is where it all
Starts Kea leads by two from Ram in the 87th Masters well we heard Ian Baker VCH talk about some of the anniversaries Milestones 40 years ago Seb second Green Jacket Bernhard longer first was 30 years ago in 93 first of two Mike Weir is what Ian mention bring
In Canada his first Master’s title Trevor 15 years ago you were the Victor here 10 years ago Adam Scott made history for Australia let’s go back to the second long bunker shot way up to the left and bring it down the slope oh was it stopped too
Quickly it has it came out a little bit too high Dy to get the roll don’t give up up on that one [Applause] yet high fives this week John Ram eight under so far Brooks kka nine under take advantage of the fives John did though three putt both par fives on
The second nine in the third round real momentum killer now this is really a pretty straightforward bunker shot caught a little of the up slope sitting R nice that’s good you can never be too sure and that as you say Dy that little up slope certainly helps a little more
Elevation I think an underestimated part of Brooks game right here well played about 8ot Beyond we’ll bring it to Butler cabin Hello friends Jim Nance welcome again to this tradition unlike any other the Masters on CBS for the 68th consecutive year pleasure to be sitting alongside Masters champion Trevor imman and Trevor
You sat in that chair 15 years ago pal congratulations let me get a handshake there than you so much thank you so much feels like yesterday for you uh I know it stirs a lot of memories but for someone else today they’re going to be sitting right where you are what’s it
Going to take for kka or Rah or someone else to do it well both of those guys kka and RAM have played such incredible golf over the first three days if I was Brooks kka and I was starting this round with a two-shot lead as tough as what
It’s going to be out there with this swirling wind I would get a number in mind if he breaks 70 you know at this point then now John Ram is going to have to go shoot 66 67 just to get into a playoff so forget about all the noise
Just go out there focus on your own game try and shoot two three four under and take your chances from there well that looks like there could be some low scores out there today yeah you know when I’m looking at at the whole locations I’m seeing about a half dozen
Of them that are down in bows mhm and so if you can get the right distance control with as receptive as what the greens are the ball can feed in there we’ve seen a bunch of that happening already at seven uh so if players can control their distance on approach they
Can have a bunch of putts about this length for birdie now Rah he needs to get something going here make this pot remember that US Open win he came from three behind on on that Sunday so he’s also had some success chasing and made a lot of left to right
Putts from memory in winning that US Open no just didn’t have the speed thought the bunker shot had roll out a little faster than it did and just a par for John good par at the first though so he’s not too disappointed in being even through
Two and like his Idol sevy if he did win today he’d be the owner of two different major titles US Open and the Masters like sevy was three British opens and two masters in his five wins books has birdied this whole all three previous days three previous [Applause] rounds
And he with the win would head to the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in July with an opportunity to do what Ben Hogan did at Carusi in 1953 Jack Nicholas at mfield in 66 and tiger in 2000 complete the career Grand Slam by winning The claric Jug so he with two
Different major victories titles four of them in the US Open and the PGA they’re good didn’t it really not good just two fives for the leaders and we’d also have five before the age of 33 right T thought it was going to hang in there
I did too it seemed like the right speed Trevor caught a lot of the left Edge well they’ll head to the third it’s a birdie opportunity with a good t- shot maybe make one [Applause] there and here we are well that gives kley a little bit of a chance it’s a slow
Start another one that’s hit driver off the T that’s excellent really got that to check up ahead full and Russell Henley backto back birdies now on the T with a four iron seventh Masters for Handley think he clipped the flag stick sure did Wow Let’s Go back to three and K
With that driver a little bit more Loft on this driver that’s more what we saw through the first two rounds with kipka that’s straight down the middle well the opening t- shot was very shaky but the drive at two and that one there very impressive that’s what Rah is going to
Have to match got per himself both’s first two drives I think he’d tell you they were both right of where he was looking got away with the last one we noticed that in uh on the west coast a little bit isn’t it the over cut comes
In that’s more what we used to it’s a bullet that’s fine down that left side he carries a very lofted wedge should be enough to spin it final round very much underway four-time major Champion Capa leads Ram by just two and we’re back Victor hin he can get within two but this a
Tricky [Applause] part that broke so hard to the right good effort to four and the birdie attempt for Henley trying to make it three in a row okay still in fourth place at seven under par to three now kly greens have got a little quicker not quite matching the pace at
The moment to seven Gary Woodland for birdie yes Trevor just mentioned it this whole location today at 7 starting to yield a number of birdies as Woodland gets to six under par just last Sunday the ad80 finalist in the Ninth Annual Drive Chip and Putt contest
Ranging in ages from 7 to 15 showed off their golf skills and remember you can get your Junior into the game just go to drivechipandputt.com to learn more and register for a local event near [Applause] you that was last Sunday and what a enormous success that has become the Drive Chip and
Punt and this Sunday turning out to be a gorgeous one in those two fives Trevor at the second hole that suddenly gave even more hope to those those who were trailing and climbing at the same time sure you would think that after the two t- shots that that final group hit down the
Second at least one of them would be able to take advantage of it but not so see the respective CAD he Doty walking this off it’ll be very precise players are going to check also how steep that bank is whether it’s uh dryer or still very damp most definitely you’re dealing with a
Golf course that’s changing every hour they have a state-ofthe-art system we’ve heard it to try and take away the water from the golf course took more than two Ines of rain away in less than 24 hours a little bit now Mother Nature is also trying to the drawing [Applause] process I think try
Fly y toal 35 to the front but you really don’t want to cut it that close you want to give yourself a putt from Beyond the hole so you’re actually putting uphill he said his goal was to stay committed to whatever shot he had [Applause] exactly not the time to get cute
Here 15 ft by will be good contact sounded good lovely excellent took the big skip but then it just jammed the brakes [Applause] on Kip’s got touch as well give it five yards closer a little more comfortable didn’t have a awkward angle across the front prob little steeper it’s the play
That tror is referring to good 12 15 ft behind the flag now cross to 11 Jordan had 208 in here but second shot caught the edge of the bank nearly down in Larry Meers territory nearly Larry my [Applause] shot lry M along the sanding l did their farewell to the tournament
This week four and Victor havin going with five iron at the par [Applause] Three unfortunate to get the skip forward off the shoulder of the bunker there that was a great shot and now a long way home at the par three fourth hole to 11 playing alongside spe three-time Masters champion six-time major championship Nicholson the subject of anniversaries too it’s 10 years since he won at
Mfield was Open Championship switch across to the first nine D the downhill parts are starting to look quick again which we haven’t seen for a while color of the greens is changing they’re starting to get a little shinier this one is one of those puts that gives you kind of a false illusion
Sort of thing the green is tilting to the right but the whole slope of the golf course is going the opposite direction you really have to focus where the ball is going to go into the hole Yeah draw that line backward how can I get it
There expect this SP to B more like entering 9:00 if he was looking at a clock face yeah gave it a lot of respect so he will remain at 11 presume and a chance for R produce that so the two Masters champions they make their way to the
12th now back to three chance to pull within one and that’s the left to right putt that Ian bence was referring to and he putt him so well at Tory pond solid four The Narrative certainly changed the scoreboard is [Applause] condensed you have to make pts like this R Easter
Sunday 40 years since bis one of his second Masters he’s aware of the anniversary to four and you can see where havin is lining up this birdie putt Trevor is going to try to play it off that slope and feed it down to today’s whole location yeah needs to
Bring it in pretty much at a 90° angle here wow keep it on the top shelf as long as you can but don’t make the mistake of not hitting it hard enough to creep over so very very difficult still coming brilliant really well executed to 12 and live with spe Bird’s
At 8 n and 10 oh it’s a good one so chance for another birdie if he could post Jesus surprised took the backward kick yeah I some say this hole always favors the left hand up if you pull it goes a little further so makes that carry on the right side
It’s just a puffer one he’s waiting for it just to get the feel of that breeze he’s already booted this hole twice this [Applause] week that’s a good shot spings it back hall High to four and Patrick Klay for birdie in his seventh Masters a good run there by the world’s fourth ranked
Player he remains five behind kka who’s waiting back up on the fourth T these guys have had to wait quite a bit so far today so bogey for Klay at the fourth havin now with his par attempt he would be the first male major champion from Norway born in
Oslo and then a three-time allamerican at Oklahoma State and going eight under bar four bars to open up the fourth round for Victor havland Jordan SP making the walk across the Hogan Bridge along with Phil mikkelson and what’s turned into a glorious Easter Sunday here in Augusta these players having to deal
With the wind but everyone is thankful the Sunshine Has Come Out John Ram in fact is uh on to short sleeves ready to go here at the fourth hole with a five iron doy five iron that needs to stay in the air 225 to get over the bunker let’s go really high
Flight left of Target and that for birdie golf ball starting to fly it’s over 20° warmer than it was when the players resumed to play this morning that will be a welcome change for everybody out there you’re telling me of course including you Dy but the course
Was planned so long it is another five iron here on a good line to start but short so kka in the greenside bunker at the fourth with his lead down to one over John [Applause] Rob to five and after punching out from the right side Henley’s third we go through the green and that’s feeding all the way down to the botom him there too so lots of issues at five for Henley that birdie Byam at the third was the
First birdie by either ROM or Capo since the eighth hole this morning some 6 and 1 half hours ago and now the margin is one the final round of the Masters [Applause] fore [Applause] fore back at the fourth hole where John Ram will have a birdie Putt and Brooks kco will be playing his second out of the greens side bunker ball is slightly on the up slope Andrew and his feet are just a little above the
Ball while we wait let’s go to the eighth hole just short left of the green for Gary Woodland at the par five try and Pitch it up as high as he can and land it softly beautifully done for Woodland US Open champ from Pebble Beach he said some beautiful shots
Around the greens remember the bump and run at Three and now the high lob at eight yeah that bump and run at Three was superb back at four and here’s K’s second risky to land it short of the hole because of the down slope he does have a back stop trying to
Use that back stop instead it stops to 12 and despite the downwind conditions there’s yet to be a birdie here at 12 spe to get to six under the first it’s a good run everything but going so spe remains at five under six back to five fourth shot for Henley good
Contact great shot is it ever he can get out of here with a bogey after losing his t- shot right having the punch [Applause] out back at before and John ROM putting for a share of the lead in a pot that doesn’t have as much fright factor into it actually working
Up away from the creek up the slope settles for par here at the fourth and still one under on his round so far today to 12 and Phil his chance to be the first birdie here at 12 already made two twos here this week make that three [Applause]
And the only man to make four twos in a master’s week was 20 years ago it was Scott the plank he’s on property excellent two by Lefty to four and Dy what do you see in this pug coming up for kka I see speed and I see some bleed to the
Right Andrew I feel like this is a huge momentum putt for kept going remember he had the wild drive at one he didn’t get it up and down at two makes five there after a great t- shot leaves the birdie putt short at three and now here in a struggle to save
Par and keep his lead and it’s just not a putt you can be super aggressive with well he was asked in between the third round and the start of the fourth round are you confident and he said how could you not be and you know Kea a bogy here
Is not likely to shake his confidence but lead is gone we have two at the top and hin now only two behind big swing at the par three fourth hole and ra makes a determined charge to the fifth T to eat after the beautiful pitch Woodland has this for birdie to go seven
Under yes sir best Masters finish 24th in 2011 tremendous Sunday charge by Woodland we’ve seen it all this week haven’t we Trevor the weather we open up playing in the 80s on Thursday hot and sticky temperatures began to drop on Friday then the system came through with
Those gusts playing in the 70s ‘ 80s and70s and then Saturday well I was in the 40s 49 inched it up to the 50s at the start of the fourth round and now we crossed 60° 61 so 40s 50s 60s 7s and 80s we’ve
Seen it all MH and we got the best for last and we got a tie at the top I know this is just been a fantastic day of golf so far havin second into the fifth up ahead by the way Henley made that punch so a great up and down for
Bogy and Victor’s going to Tumble back to the front Okay that miss is not as bad when the whole location is pushed a little deeper there still waiting up ahead for kle but rum has made up the four shots four shots the beginning of the
Day when we awoke was 13 under and nine under so this is actually going to be the third for catley also you can see he’s well past the bunker so he had the pitch out also we saw Henley up ahead so he backed up that short Miss at
The fourth with an arent shot at the [Applause] Fifth all of a sudden hins two back and Gary Woodland’s three behind and you got Jordan spe down at Amen Corner five off the lead do something crazy on the par fives who knows Cantley with his [Applause] third didn’t get the wind right there you’re talking about Woodland he started
This final round eight behind now only three back again the biggest Masters comeback on a Sunday was eight shots you mentioned it just wonder how much this is going to wear on Ramen kka because they’re both really Speedy players good point and they’ve had to wait a number of times
Took him nearly 40 minutes just to play the first two holes they waited on four they’ve waited on five now ROM [Applause] co-leader no problem Rah has played this hole in one over so far this week kept even what’s kepka feeling right now well things have changed a little
Bit all of a sudden that lead is gone remember when we started this morning he had a four shot lead time to regroup here let’s string a few good swings together go Brooks that’s one right [Applause] there look he’s been at this position so many
Times no time to panic just yet over at nine we got Scotty shuffler for birdie now the [Applause] dropping the cter was Ill behaved for the first three three days that’s 33 first nine and he’s in the tie for six 13t one of those he’s tied with as Jordan speed at 500 keep Turning a nice Bounce goone from there I think so fact that he’s up the right hand side he won’t be blocked out by those limbs that hang over you can see him there take another look at the swing setting up for the draw and well down the right he’s been working on keeping
The right arm connected at the top lower body fires Club shaft just underneath pushes that path out to the right that’s what creates the draw let’s watch the front foot here he’s always had that trademark twisting onto the left side of his left foot back at five green
Havin that’s to negotiate one of the biggest Mounds you’ll find on any [Applause] green meanwhile the code leader at 10 under [Applause] par cley behind the fifth and that was his fourth shot he needs to make that to have backto back bog is things going south on him Gary Woodland out there at
Nine think we pull this way you’re going to start it in and it’s that want [Applause] to well he talks it over we’re going to go back the hlin little disappointed with his first putt there I felt like he could get that inside of five or six feet lot of work left here
Now is a tremendous two parts you so often see a carry over to the next shot at 16 and Freddy [Applause] C nice let’s go back to F can’t can’t afford a [Applause] double good CL but he drops to four under it’s time for ninth part of the
Problem he’s got so many guys between him in the lead over at nine Woodland ready [Applause] now wind off the left a little bit of hurt at nine full Club short at six and here’s Russell Henley second shot just off the green oh I’ve had a good [Applause] chance and we’ll go to
13 13 speed going for it a right trying to sling one in there softly softly Softly oh might C in that bunker it’s either in the bunker on the down slope on the edge it’s in the bunker High hit it high and off the toe that’s why it h too much back at the [Applause] fifth ROM has 208 been waiting to see if this wind
Could figure out what it would like to do that’s a six iron in his hand but backed off once already needs at least 2011 to get on top can’t miss long and can’t miss left either one handed follow through it’ll be on the front that was his miss this morning it’s
Continued short and right six and here is Russell Henley Victor beg your pardon sit sit sit well you can tell by the flag there’s an absence of wind [Applause] six but a challenge for the young Norwegian back to five okay capka just 173 35 yd closer
To the hole than ROM no more than 160 comfortable pass at that one but it doesn’t get as far back as he had hoped they’ll be okay there on the correct level at nine Woodland trying to go long and left to use the slope is it going to come come back from
All the way up there bit better oh no is even got the wind that should have helped him a little bit he needed to come down about 6 in would have made it all the way down to the hole he can’t believe it six and Patrick can’t play he’s posing and that’s why
Beautiful shot Patrick Klay at one point in 2019 he had the lead guy named Tiger Woods came charging from behind and won the Championship [Applause] at 13 Michelson with a good shot and he’s firing at the par five and two wind out of the right is going to help him cut it back into the center yeah it’s well played there and getting better he’s playing well she’s three under for the day coming here there you
See ROM over at five all you want in this putt we got it uphill onto a plateau then turning down into a bowl good speed wonderful aim close right there to his first ever birdie in Masters competition at the fifth hole never have one yes sir and he’s got his
Par just the one3 at the third hole they had quite a reaction for some one of our International feeds right [Applause] here I trust they said bamos just like I said on the shoes literally means we go but in sports parans it means let’s go and that is K’s
Attempt the birdie at five kapka who first qualified for the Masters back in 2015 by virtue of his win in Phoenix was his first win and it was the first pro event Tour event that ROM played in he was an amateur going to Arizona State and he finished fifth you remember
That mm R finished fifth as an Arizona State student athlete while Kea one for the first time I remember when he was just turning pro Phil Mickelson was already telling the world that he was a future world number one Phil was right of course Phil knew because his
Brother Tim was the golf coach at Arizona State and had recruited Ron to come to the US play for the Sun Devils where he met his wife Kelly who was also a student athlete she was a javelin thrower the track and field team par for Brooks good news for Brooks is he made
Two nice swings in a row there at five see if he can just start to gather some momentum at six and Victor hubin remember he was be the green this is his chip not too bad of a shot really very very difficult position he was in right let’s go to nine and Woodland
Unfortunate the ball never trickled off the top of that Ridge just an inch or so this is such a hard P just shows how little that shot needed to make its way all the way back back down to the cup all sorts of ways he could have
Played that third he decided to try to play with the Angles and somehow it just didn’t play out six and Victor oh boy there’s a noan word that applies AA to 13 Andy now George trickle it over the crest of the slope this is pretty good for Speed but he’s lost it
Low it’s pretty good though yeah I’d take it that’s eight out of 10 back to six and this adventure for Victor hin continues the agony [Applause] prolong so you got hin fall into six you got Woodland about to make bogy here at nine needs to make this for that
Bogy and he does he’s now at six all of a sudden there’s a four shot spread between the top two in the pack 33 first nine for Gary than to six and you’ll recall that Splendid t-shot for Patrick KL so he counteracts the backto back Bogies with the birding at
Six and back on the team ROM and K these two with a four shot Edge over huband and Russell Henley John ROM first Breeze hurting burn he’s got seven iron flag C very close to where it was a year ago in the final round no sir oh boy needed three or four more
Yards to 13 and Phil for Eagle which could put him into a tie for third made a long putt back at 12 turns out quite a bit and we’re a 16 and here’s Fred Couples for birdie at the 16th been a tough final round for
Fred and at six Brooks Kea see if he can take advantage now the opening provided by John R trying to flight down the same [Applause] club and he cannot that’s the swirling wind creating Havoc these two players hitting the same club and a huge distance difference there to seven and Russell Henley with
His [Applause] approach currently four shots back and this is going to get [Applause] better Henley has about 10 ft for bir at seven 13 and Jordan missed his birdie attempt Nicholson for a four to 5 under Phil Nicholson making a charge here on this Sunday but Rah and kka continue to
Duel Green Jacket is on the line again at the 87th Masters and here’s John ROM Trevor brilliant shot and that just goes to show one of the secrets of playing Augusta National if you miss leave it underneath the hole always easier to play back up the hill to seven and Russell Henley to pull within three of the lead back to kka and
Doy this is actually a more difficult shot than John R the Miss could go crazy off the next deck that’s do now watch oh no way oh we got a bit of a break that was chillingly close to going down and ROM territory let’s go to
14 at Jordan spe 172 to the hole at this whole location want to be left of the flag stick and then watch it work down and spe eyeing that [Applause] plan Jordan spe spins of Beauty at the 14th and a chance to get to six under in a share of third [Applause]
Place back to six it’ll be kepka next it’s essentially a flat putt if anything it might be a touchup H the pole of the creek wants to tug it to the right so slightly Dy I’m still surprised that that ball stayed up on that top Plateau I am with
You it’s just hanging on the edge I also think he I’m surprised he was a little quicker to get to that ball mhm put a mark on it looks good almost was that’s focus on both par 3es and so John ROM can claim solo possession of the lead
Let’s go to seven and let’s see if havlin can respond after the double bogey AOL ago eight iron here for hland and that’s going to try to catch that Ridge will it come down [Applause] no let’s go back to six John ROM and we have a new leader onethird of the
Way to the final round on a Sunday at the Masters to seven and Patrick Klay who made Eagle at this hole 11 years ago that’s a good spot to be oh things are starting to heat up here at Augusta National John ROM The Leader by One Back live at the seventh hole ROM set up for a cut Fairway also goes to the right this is going to be perfect sure is Patron becoming more vocal and definitely more in John ROM’s Camp toddy that was as thunderous as reaction for a par as you’ll ever hear around here yeah
Absolutely now the t- shot from kka continuing to play quickly should be just fine so both in the Fairway here at the par for seventh Hole Round a little energy as he makes his way down the seventh Fairway and kka now behind by one meanwhile up ahead on the green this is
Havin for birdie just not enough and still four off the lead held by [Applause] R now at the 14th hole you saw the beautiful approach from spe this for birdie his seventh birdie of the day and Jordan spe within four of the lead headed to the par five [Applause]
15 five career top three finishes in the Masters and now spe is tied for third in the 87th Masters tournament there’s Klay whose first trip to Augusta National was in 2011 as a patron and he was actually disappointed to come through the gates for the first time because he had lost in the
Semifinals of the US amiter and if he had won his match he would have been playing in that Master’s tournament a birdie at seven for Klay back to back now for Patrick to join that share of third let’s go to 10 and the second for Gary Woodland here at the long PA four
Beautiful drive only 173 left at six under Woodland is in a tie for third oh no he’s missed the green again so a tricky little bunker shot upcoming for Gary Woodland after the bogey at nine but John Ram takes the lead with the par at the sixth Brook kka
Hasn’t made a birdie for 16 holes he’s one back keep the 87th Masters tournament Within Reach anywhere anytime visit masters.com download the official app and sign up for the Masters newsletter we’re back out at the seven and kka will be first to play 143 nine iron plays up half a club
To the most shallow green on the golf course missed the B Ian mentioned it but Keva has not made a birdie since the eighth hole of his third round iron play is just not sharp so far and doy ROM with a big drive here at seven just a pitching ledge left3 to the
Hole playing like 118 Freeze from the left great opportunity for him to get one in close here now hit it in close in round [Applause] three trying to cut back oh yes what a shot by Ram the leader has a chance to take it to 11 under here at the
Seventh remember Rah was four down entering the day got it to two through 54 holes at the second kept to have that birdie putt lip out hasn’t made a pry since the eighth hole in round three this morning then Rah says let’s go birdie at the
Third at the fourth hole kka was in the front bunker blasted out to he leaning on the putter again for a par drops another shot and then at the sixth kkus little chip from behind the green got away from him even fortunate that it stayed up top but he would make
Bogy well Ram who would come up short off the T knocked it up this close and with that putt had the outright lead this been a story of comebacks in many respects for John this week I mean after all he opens the tournament with a double bogey a four putt double bogey at
The first hole on Thursday and we can see how the final round has switched from a two- shot lead for capka to a one shot deficit for Brooks but ROM with that four putt double at one there’s only been one player in the history of this tournament
That ever did that made double at one and came on back to win it that was Sam Sneed 1952 and throughout this final round we’ve discussed the whole location at seven and just to give everyone an idea this hole played overpar each of the first three rounds it’s currently
Playing under bar and if you catch that bowl like Rah did kka failed to do we’ve already seen seven birdies here at the seventh hole today Brooks needs a spark he needs he needs something something big to happen get something going change the energy out there all the momentum just seems to be
With ram right now [Applause] [Applause] made a run on it but kka still cannot find a birdie putt to drop to 10 Gary Woodland needing to just splash this out about a third of the way and let it roll down and that’s very nicely played beautiful shot there for
Woodland sa’s power at 10 remains at six under back to you Andrew at seven and Ian everyone will remember at 8:30 this morning when we came on the air on CBS Rah and Kea resume their third round right here on the seventh green and there was an immediate two shot SW swing
With kka making bogey Rah making birdie a chance for Rah to add to his lead here at the seventh just don’t get chances like that around here that often he knows it Dy [Applause] disappointing par for Ram at seven here’s Kea for par to remain one
Back it’s still only one three putt this week keco one behind heading to the par five eighth hole to 11 good second shot 180 yds into the safe side of the green for shler 40 ft shaa he’s back in the mix TI for third full back and that will send a message To8 Henley from 89 yds here third oh a little unfortunate had that pitched another yard it would have been good remember Henley was the leader after three rounds at the 2021 US Open that John Ram went on to win as John makes his way back to the eighth T here here [Applause]
We and certainly has the length to get up there around this green in two and a great walk and how about this walk after that bird at 11 for Scot sh yeah am hardly made a part the first two days and maybe this is the one that wakes him up 40
Ft he just needed the greens to be quicker just like last year this is the second shot of sah thala one of the hotter rounds on the G course right now any good that moves this Master’s rookie to six underp mother and dad from India well that looks Vaguely Familiar
Vaguely there was this guy named Tiger Woods in [Applause] 2005 [Applause] well it might as well drop in yeah I I do remember that to 15 did you in your life think you’d see that a second time bur oh goodness here’s Nicholson attacking oh yeah so both par fives on the second nine Nicholson on the green and
Two to 12 and wind strengthened a little it’s right behind him 161 playing more like 145 cannot short oh my goodness that’s 10 yards up there flew a mile over the B 15 speed trying to turn it around the Pines wind down and out of the right he’s
Begging what a glorious shot that was might have been something better on the course though about that same time on that reaction it’s good to e and Russell Henley the Georgia Bulldog down the hill long birdy attempt lives in Columbus Georgia plays out of a country club of Columbus and a
Fred has Haskins Award winner is’s Russell Henley waiting at the eighth and the leaders will be back on the te so we got the second to last group waiting for their seconds they can reach the green and then the leaders there at the T playing alongside Russell Henley is Hideki
Matama what a win that was for Japan he is an absolute superstar in Japan now and that’s a wonderful birdie from Maxi 5 just five back and we all know anything can happen on that second nine lots of Birdie and Eagle opportunities and lots of pressure on the
Leaders I mentioned the Fred H Haskins Award with Russell Fred H Haskins actually taught at the Country Club of Columbus Larry from and the Ben car who also played this week Rell remain six [Applause] under 10 holes to go chance to win the Green Jacket he’s Phil at 15 yeah let’s get to
His attempt at Eagle Phil and spe on this green and two both trying to to do something dramatic at the finish and post trying to beat the other to get the edge going into the clubhouse letage or he turned it too much looks like it to me oh that’s
Desperate down there if it goes down in the pine straw it can feed all the way down to an impossible position remember Greg Norman hit it there in the Masters in 199 86 with Nick falo sort of the start of Greg’s falling apart there in that final
Round now Victor this is a perfect angle here up the right hand side off the T they [Applause] third oh what a shot for hland Sensational an eagle putt from the perfect spot slightly uphill can hin get it to eight under just two back with an eagle just when things were looking
Better for sheff t-shot went over the back there he’s taking an unplayable actually looked like taking it further back a good 10 15 yds behind did not like that so he’s taken the option of going sideways so he’ll now be playing three back to U in back at the
T back into a breeze that’s trying to turn a little from the right now set up to hit a big cut with the bunker this morning and got very very lucky that was a good break this morning sort of landed in the bunker and skipped [Applause] out but that one in good
Shape he may have been wrong with that second shot for hin that might have been his third he may have had to Splash out of the bunker to to that point birdie eagle birdie likes this hole that needs to get down quickly as well into the pine straw that’s terrible over
There as bad as it gets he’s certainly lost it he’s missed a few iron shots with the length and uh now missing quite about left and right with the driver the conditions are so much different to when he had the lead in the first two rounds
As we go back to 12 risky third shot now after the penalty little across the the other [Applause] side SLE he’s done well really fortunately he was dropping it back into the breeze sun is certainly out on an Easter Sunday John Ram looking to be Spain’s fourth ever Masters Champion this is an eagle attempt for Jordan spe who began the final round 10 shots back he holds it he’s only two behind give it a good hit up the hill not the time to leave one short running out of holes to 13 it’s been one Eagle here at 13 so far
Make that to how about that and he enjoys that group at six under par he joins him Sheffer spe kley havin theala Woodland Henley and now young is a go to the eighth and kentley got a break there with his second it’s caught the trees and dropped down into the
Second cut so he canit hoist a high lob wge up there and stop it somewhere near it like that that’s what you have to do take advantage of those good breaks and he could go to seven under an a tie for third with the birdie here at the eighth
And hland is at the back of the green putting for birdie as we watch kker over on the left he is in the pine straw doy he is in fact and under a very large Japanese maple uh he can punch this out it needs to stay very low for about 25 yard
Before it gets to the Fairway you think there’s any way at all he can get it up on top absolutely not he just needs to get it where he can get there in three he’ll do well to get this ball Trevor in front of the bunker Jordan made his birdie now Phil for
His and another one at 6 under so speed climbs to seven under with his two- cut birdie third alone for Jordan now as we go to the eighth and we have eight players at six under spe at seven hland has this to get to [Applause] Seven not to
Be couple of feet left for the par but with the t- shot was the problem now books pitching out well he avoided the bunker so if he can get a a wood on it from there get it up on the green or around the green still make the PA that was a spectacular
Effort couldn’t have done any better we talked about the conditions the first couple of days being so perfect for that draw the uh the late early and I thought it was poignant that those that played in the miserable weather later that day were going to be
A little bit better to today and in the wind because they’ experienced it and uh I don’t think Brooks really understood the difference between how it was those first couple of rounds in the high humidity 85° and then how difficult it’s been since big putt now for Patrick kley take advantage of the
Break a win here would certainly add to that decorated career eight PGA Tour wins low Amer honors at both the Masters and the US Open the hasin and Nicholas Awards in 2011 the Ben Hogan award the following year represented the United United States in the Walker cup Palmer cup Rider cup and President’s
Cup this for [Applause] bir as fast as they are down the hill you just cannot hit them firm enough to hold their line let’s go to 16 and on the T Jordan be [Applause] well there you have it back to Patrick kley and that’s for p coming up 30 six and seven that would have been a nice boost make up for the Bogies at four and five at 17 zah theala after that spectacular chipping back at 16 can he keep it going here four
Left oh into the bleaches left wow that’s a huge misc there Ian oh my goodness that’s 20 yds left and 20 yards long TR back to 16 and a moment ago here was Phil Mickelson six iron these two have had a Tor final round to this point let’s go back to
Eight 300 yd for John Ram here 263 to the front that flag cut in the back left exact ex L what it was a year ago turn it over and use the ground beautiful swing away just short right of the green perfect angle in about 45 yd left Brooks kept her over
There on the right side he’ll be playing his third was a third EAS hole through three rounds 212 front 249 to the hole his starty we had four Eagles the first two days but none in the third round I think Brooks had one of those in the second round yes we
Did long iron trying and hit a bullet run it back there it’s trying to turn [Applause] too yes he’s done it lovely shot on the Green in three two CS for the par and remain one back of John Ram who has a chance here to go one farther in
Front at nine it’s Russell Henley with the approach up the hill he got to come over the corner of that front bunker oh this is going to be great this is going to be great this could be end Russell Henley he’ll go to seven under with that
Little one used to attend the Masters as a young boy let’s go to 12 and just like that Jim shiffler he was in that eight-way tie for third spe made his birdie and of course defending Champion double his hopes are dashed 16 and Jordan spe out of that left hand bunker left side
Bunker try to use the bank think he got it high enough I think you’re right Trev as always talking to himself let’s go forward this the G and second shot was way left now he’s third 17 and 18 once again the toughest two holes on the course in these windy
Conditions the northeasterly wind that left for P for [Applause] seah over to 14 and coming off Eagle it’s the second for Cameron young and he pulls this one way off to the left and underneath that tree in the pine straw so Cameron young trying to build up that momentum
But in trouble at 14 what a great looking leaderboard what a great looking day that’s the final round of the 87th Masters Tournament third shot for Ram here at the E and if he goes the high route he can take a lot of the break and that shoulder out of play I think the G are receptive enough to do that I agree with you I think if he has
A good lie got the lob wedge pitch it over that shoulder you can see in the green there and R with the pin and bring it down right to Left how good is this touch just like this a tap in for birdie for Ram and we’ll take firing a miracle P for books a two shot lead to the ninth and actually it’s it’ be good tart for Brooks from where he is it’s a good 60 ft up over the
Hill just what he needed just at that time Trevor exactly right just turning up the heat more and more on kka looks like he’s going to go ahead and tap this while he’s uh cleaning his ball and tapping that in I can tell you that one of the most memorable shots
Ever played here at the eth was back in 1967 when Bruce Devon a great uh Australian player who won many many times on T holy second shot for an albatross here at the eighth but that’s a birdie for R really like that move going ahead tapping in getting the crowd revved up
And Brooks needs a two- putt desperately now on eight the last birdie Brooks made was at this hole earlier this morning he started back with a bogey at the seventh to start his day bounc back with the birdie given where he was off the t- shop a bit
Of a bonus to have this but now he has to have it really wonderful effort beautiful long range part there for Brooks kco momentum is all John ROM right now what a huge swing it has been in the last 18 holes since they started this morning started with a two-shot swing
Back at the seventh and now we have Ram with a twoot Advantage with 10 holes to go lots of golf left to be played though and we’ve heard it said many times before it doesn’t start until the second nine on Sunday so many players with a Chance it at the ninth
Catley Henley up ahead knock to so close just taping birdie complete that’s wide right at 16 and here’s Phil Mickelson for birdie at 6 got to have it if he wants any [Applause] chance doesn’t get it back to nine and havlin also one of those at six under started way left better start
Cutting no that bunker is extremely deep 16 Jordan spe tricky little putt for his par well done needs two threes to finish and a little help AG great here’s the [Applause] go on the T at nine now with a two-shot lead Breeze in the terrain pushing to the
Right to the right side of the box to give him the most room to move this ball might be going for the draw here do he’s got that club head set back a little bit let’s see yep TR this is so good down the fast lane down the left hand side here
Beautiful and now kept who has gone 18 Holes without a birdie since birding the eighth hole earlier this morning 76 Strokes over the next 18 holes to this point right here Hammer that one though that’s two great t- shots great players man they’ve entertained us today
Haven’t they from from Sun up almost 14 and the third for Cameron young down the hill and what touch from Cameron young that is beautiful from that spot here at 14 to 16 and on the te right ran Fox 36y old from Auckland New [Applause] Zealand he’s making [Applause] memories we are in the final round of the 2023 Masters in Austa at 9 it’s can’t lay he’s got to go all the way up to the edge of the bunker oh no he hasn’t he’s checked it up right on top of the hill he’s played it beautifully so he decided not to try and use that Ridge that Woodland tried earlier brilliantly
Played much less margin for error for that option almost Vern at 16 well he’ll take that back home from New Zealand Ryan Fox go to nine havlin flashing out late it’s pretty much as good as you can do without hitting the flag stick up ahead to 10 second for Russell Henley here at
Chamia bring it in with a little drawer off the bunker but no like Gary Woodland finding that Sandy grave Dei matsy armor in there in the center of the green as we go back to the ninth not been a lot of good uh momentum out of this pairing I thought there
Might be but catly is even Victor is two over trying to stay at minus six overall if he can hold this for his par not done yet to 17 Phil Mickelson’s second shot here from on top of the hill wonderful Drive 175 come on come on be
Right what a shot for Nicholson oh my goodness a foot from an eagle if he could somehow finish inside the top five he would be the oldest player in Master history with a top five finish current holder of that distinction is another three-time Masters champion Jimmy demer back to and now for cley’s
Park [Applause] re berties re bogis three pars and 17 laying alongside Phil Mickelson is Jordan spe his second at 17 how about those two shots second hardest hole on the course today but not for these two at n Nicholson shot was stunning he said this week he was close to going on
To tear the scores haven’t been there but he felt like he was hitting it good enough to be going low as hin able to get his five 3 and 1/2t comebacker there it is a 17 the attack to go six under today and if he could par the
Last for 66 it would be the lowest score in any Master’s round by a player 50 and older how incredible is this golf from this pairing here spe and Mickelson so exciting Trevor just what we’re so used to seeing on this second n on Masters Sunday up to 18 anthy
Galla out of this green side bunker going to see anything like last year this could be an important up and down here tie for ninth top 12 and ties get back into the Masters next year how big is that up and down me off said that yes it’s absolutely perfect
Yep back at nine and play resumed this morning at 8:30 kka four in front Ram now two ahead John and Adam Hayes love their number set is perfect let’s see got to stay in the air 125 get up right at it oh easy there’s more of a gentle
Ledge that’s not a gentle roll back though no it’s got some speed to it that ball just seemed to launch a little lower than what it normally would coming off that down slope exactly capin now with a chance to pounce couple yards closer pitching wedge
They come off of that oh don’t know it stays no telling how close that could have been that just touches the green it gets probably right around 5T it was a low ball fly for rum yeah ball below his feet and on a down slope so it didn’t stay in the air as
Long as what it ordinarily would it’s 17 Kenny match phille with a birdie of his own is to go eight under and he’s made it Jordan SP is now eight under par and three back he will have the most top fives of any player at the Masters before the age
Of 30 he’s already tied with tiger Jack sevi and Gary but the top five today would be six times as we go to 18 anthy gum for a round of 67 there you [Applause] go what a master’s debut for sahit the Pepperdine star born in Orange California now lives in
Texas and he at 5 under is tied ninth so top 12 in ties that’s key as you said Trevor we’ll get you the return invite for next year so R’s going to have this little uphill shot kkas is going to be so Speedy he’s going to have
Some difficulty there just trying to get it to stop this shot for JN is not is similar to the second he had to hit at six up over that Ridge and put the brakes on quickly do you like the direct route or taking it up into the left corner and
Bringing it back I think there’s room Trevor to go the direct route okay that seems to be what he’s set up for easy that’s where you did not want to leave it oh you don’t want anything that’s looking downhill on this green we’re at the 10th and this for par for Russell
Henley he banged it in and a fist pump to go with it tied for fourth at 7even under bir at nine power at 10 here’s cam young at 15 how many times have we seen players come up short to those back hole locations at 15 this
Week spe in it just a little while back drove it left had to lay up just the par at the par five at 18 Jordan speed this reminds me so much of 2018 when he was a blaze trying to catch up to Patrick Reed he missed his t- shot left made
Bogy still shot 64 my goodness history repeating a little bit here going to need a little luck here couldn’t tell did that come out didn’t see yeah that was the day in 18 when he needed par for 63 standing on the last tole but was looking for more birdies
And drove it left made Bogey and shot 64 and finished two back third alone which is where he resides right now capka how about this put D fastest he’s certainly had since yesterday in any part of today also downwind the speed is a foot onto the green no [Applause]
More from a speed perspective the fire is back in these greens youwhile at 18 on the T Phil 16 birdies combined out of this [Applause] pairing back at nine it will be kka first even though things aren’t going his way this is an opportunity for him
To make this put a little heat on RAM there’s the old story around here the first time Arnold Palmer played with Ben Hogan he asked Arnold did Ben ever speak to you during the round he said yeah what did he say he said one time you’re still [Laughter] away this for
Wow messy messy opening nine just how close though that came off The Fringe could have been so snug unlucky there for Brooks we’re 12 and Patrick Reed number 21 made two here on Sunday another good Masters Michelson the only one to make birdie until that
One so Reed get a chance at the two power fives despite the double bogey at the second all the PA Five played great since then nine if he makes this he goes to the second side three in front that just gave life to a lot more people including Jordan spe who is now
Two back but in trouble at the [Applause] 18th was seeing with spe and Nicholson Reed these Masters champions they even Sheffer earlier they know what they’ve got to do on Sunday they’ve seen it and felt [Applause] it but still he’s flipped the script was too behind to
Stop this is again been talking about so much this the 40th anniversary of seb’s last win it’s also seb’s birthday April 9th and if you happen to see Adam Hayes is caddy bib walking behind ROM right here it’s 49 this is just random but if you’re a numerologist when you register
Here you get a bib number in the order of when you you arrive when you register number one goes to the defending champion and Rah happened to be well the 48th to register so he got number 49 49 April 9 it is today sebie his fingerprints will always be on
This game he went in 1980 in 83 which was a Monday finish 40 years back and as he ever Miss Jordan at the 18th Tangled Up in the Magnolias there shot yeah I agree see a little window there Trevor at least he’s got a swing get right got to the tree on
The right got to buers two things not it’s got be left on the green side just talking about the great sevy this man plays a little bit like sevy there’s no there’s actually no Alleyway theight this go I know we’re not try to get that got to make for at the worst
You also got to hold off Michelson in your own pairing and melson’s middle of the Fairway 180 yards plays about 12 up the hill just watching that magnolia leaf right behind his ball will let affect it caught a little bit that Mia Branch Ricochet at right on the T of
10 with a two- shot lead nine holes to gowood trying to turn it around the corner winding delivered absolutely perfect wouldn’t have walked down there any better just nine holes to go can he become a two-time major Champion just across to the right from the 10th T is the 18th green yeah with
Phil Mickelson has been knocking down some flag sticks 18 the number one most difficult hole in the final round so far yielding only two birdies Sam Burns harrold Barner sck he loves this one too stuck at about 15 ft that is some performance by Phil let’s
Go back to 10 he’s got some work to do come back from the poor start he’s just out of sorts REM hit it way right this morning with the three-wood now gone down to the iron and almost in the same spot he stayed in the glass Trevor but he’s going to be
Obstructed from the tree [Applause] there Russell Hanley at seven under par through 10 Phil mson making a charge here with a birdie put at the last Jordan SP seven under on his round is eight under Brooks kka he’s got to get something going cuz this guy John Ram looks like he’s in Control oh my goodness yes sir in your life have you seen anything like [Applause] that can you believe it and unbelievable sh by Nicholson the return to [Applause] Glory sheer outshines them all and austa scen that was a year ago what do we have in store on this
Easter Sunday because this went from something it looked like it could very well be a two-man race to where now there are so many possibilities and you see how difficult through three rounds this side is 18 second overall for the week and here comes the third at the 18th for
Spe oh checked up on them way too soon so a chance for two shot swing there with him and Mickelson at 18 at 10 for par for Patrick Klay to remain six under an early look he’s missed three short ones today at 11 and Russell Henley what about now pass very
Important especially at this Hall see that’s the speed that wasn’t there through Friday and early in the morning on Saturday 16 ever so delicate there it goes about as good as he could do Young At 6 under par back at the 10th and Dy how bad is it back there for Brooks he does have a window uh I’m not saying it’s a comfortable one or a wide one but there
Is a way to get this ball I believe in the middle of the green it’s 231 yd total 205 to the front yeah I just noral just trust for see some good advice there from CAD Ricky Elliot trust your shot trust the wind six iron
And it has stayed up on the bank right of the bunker may be able to get enough spin on that to be able to keep it close to the flag with the pitch not easy though as we head up to 18 you got spe with a
Parot I believe he’s away and you got melson with a birdie bid these two have been feeding off one another today Trevor sure have just incredible golf spe actually leads the field in birdies for the week with 21 to think how well these two know each other when spe first made a national
Team in 2013 Fred Couples picked him as a Captain’s Choice for the President’s Cup Ian Phil great familiarity great playing needs this for his par once again the t-shot at 18 got him on a day he was brilliant back of 10 yes it’s great to see him contending in Mages
Again isn’t it former Champion here John now eight iron from 191 obviously helping Breeze Dy yes that t-shot uh turned this into a birdie opportunity this is on a really nice line to start left himself an uphill attempt for birdie at 10 get through 10 and 11 with
Passs get it over the ray Creek at 12 couple of power fives 18 and now Phil can leap frog over speed and could shoot 65 if he holds it a three-time winner here this is a great look should just break down to the right biggest butt of his life was on this screen
And4 he’s done it again and he posts eight under brilliant second nine from mikkelson back in 31 and it’s his lowest Master’s final round ever I think it’s been a while since he’s been able to break out a smile speed comes in at seven under
66 and now what does that mean when you look up at your rum and you see eight under is in how much pressure does that apply he do have the two-part fives and all that but you know eight under is in yeah I mean he has set the up now Rah
Will notice that Trevor in fact Rah just looked at the big board that’s left of the 10th green there you go he would have heard that Roar yes funneling down the 10th Fairway as well oldest player to finish in top five Jimmy dearit who won here three times bill of course a three-time
Winner in that group that one of three times Gary Player and Sir Nick Faldo watch the reaction cannot be ruled out in what would be for him a fourth Green Jacket they tie him with Arnold Palmer I imagine he’s going to be posted up in the Champions locker room near a
TV for a little while seeing how things unfold over 10 this ball is way above his feet as well it is calling on a little Houdini and a little luck oh that was beautifully played nice and soft and come up short really good job from there I bet he didn’t think he could
Leave that short from there good solid lower half let the right hand release use the bounce of the club find the bottom the turf well done now arm from about 20 ft for birdie up the hill right to left I know he’s seen the board Doty but
Eight under I don’t think that’s going to trouble him with the back nine the second nine here with so many opportunities for birdies at least he knows that there’s someone in at eight but uh I think he’s thinking more like 12 I’m sure he is but remember he did
Not make a birdie on the second nine this morning that’s right he’s three parted both par fives it’s been pretty lean that’s a good way to start this second nine though with a power at 10 good steadying four and I know Ian the conditions are
Far better right now but he did shoot 38 on his side this morning yes 10 under eight to go at 13 and Patrick Reed playing his third go beyond this whole location and spin it back that was from 76 yards starting to gather some speed now well
Done got a thumbs up from Xander shafley who’s playing with him Xander three under par even for the day we’re back at the 10th you would think to keep some sort of positive thought coming into these last eight holes knock this one in for par right the ship outside the hall
Right and he’s done it that was a very good confident pu for books he needed it but two behind John Ram lot of work lot of work to do they’ll head back up to the 11th t with the toughest bar four ball coming John Ram leading the way here at the 87th
Masters by two from Phil Mickelson are isurgeon 65 today to finish two Back cam Young from 160 here at the 17th can he finish like Phil Mickelson birdie bir 30 well he’s given himself a chance good second shot there for Camp four under on his round today and back up to 11 T Frank he sits there on the top and Dy
You go back to 2012 it was Phil’s brother Tim that recruited John when he was a 17year old so I wonder if that name has a different value on top that’s a good point now wind dead is back should get some release on that down slight certainly makes the second shot easier
Cannot afford to get ahead of himself it’s for sure qu and play 11 12 13 15 and 16 kipka knows that he’s been in this position before seem to be a little re-engaged after that up and in for part 10 remember 2019 the early start he was two back
And they play groupings of three on that Sunday morning similar position that experience might help now 12 Henley made the power po back at 11 this with time Nicholson at eight under and now that is a tricky one coming back always more important to get inside
The clubhouse 13 Patrick Reed has a biry p to seven [Applause] under again these Champions are making a charge they won it before read the 7 under SM finished at 7 under with 66 and Phil Nicholson once again beating father time with 65 he’s in second tied Second now the pop up for Henley well done his best finish back in 2017 a tie for 11th to hold that 200 yds in here 30 ft left outside chance for buy could gladly taken us three from this morning meanwhile up at the hill he is striding down 11:30 p.m. right now in
Spain I’m sure they’re away seven SE just not sure of the line this back right hole location good approach in here in the wind wind always swirling around on top of the hill here difficult to pull the right Club young to go seven under what a p for cam
Young remember he finished a shot behind cam Smith in the Open Championship last year making an eagle on the last hole at St Andrews he is a big time player it won’t be long before he breaks out yeah can’t surely five under is too far behind but he said
Helps seen a lot of eagles on 13 but it’s possible even though it’s been lengthened we got a 16 and here’s Matthew V Patrick for birdie there we Are bogy at 15 but he follows up with a birdie at 16 and we go back to 11 cap C 183 that wind is still up there that ball turning over aggressive oh digs in the [Applause] green so he sent the message and I think he’s pumped
Up it really is the mayor’s office he was born in 1994 it’s the year that olal won alabo was 28 1994 John Ron is currently 28 who second nine iron Frank what nine iron still like it out towards those three trees there tugged it a little bit this
Morning that is right at those three trees Trevor beautifully played exactly where he was aiming group ahead at 12 hlin does he go flag [Applause] hunting that will depend on the LIE so hard to judge over Rays Creek 13 Sam Bennett it was in the final grouping round
Three we’re going to spin this one oh yeah this a little like Pereira when he hold it for Eagle almost he’s going to get his birdie maybe he can get inside the top 12 they’ll pick up another birdie right here this is the field at the beginning
Of the tournament Sam the only one to play the last two rounds but congratulations to to the allall qualifying for the Masters we’re on 12 can’t Le pitching W shows you how much wind is behind and that was still over the back so very tough to
Judge not a bad lead came in with so much promise today and they’re all looking towards 11 as RAM and kep to make their way to the [Applause] GRE sun is finally shining now in the corner after all the inclement weather the last few days just after 5:30 p.m.
And Trevor you’ve been in this position navigating your way over this closing stretch you had a lead yeah it’s all about keeping your ball dry you touched on it a minute ago five of the next six holes water comes into play that’s why I love the strategy
That Ram went with there even though he boomed that drive way down there and just got a short eyeon in make the smart play 30 feet out to the right very very easy for your mind to start racing too far ahead take a few deep breaths reset he’s got to keep picking targets
Doesn’t he the right targets committed swings to conservative targets exactly what he said after the third round he has to stay committed but I think there’s a discipline to it too there’s a there’s a mental discipline and there’s a physical discipline with picking those targets it’s beautiful
Speed he knows 11 and 12 are difficult they have decisions to make on 13 and 15 17 and 18 two of the hardest holes on the golf course good four just needed to touch more speed can’t blame him though but it does open the door just a little for this
Man same shape to this putt less speed never on the line just needs to string a couple of shots together seen that before in the past it can make bires in in a hurry we go to 13 Sam Bennett with a birdie move him up to 17th
Position probably have to get to four par for that top 12 and an exemption to next year here’s [Applause] 12in as part of his game continues to get better no issues here to green short game starts to tighten up he’s world class we know that now kka four is fine Gap still
Two I said earli who was in the situation 2 19 he was two back Molinari had the lead that day now just over the bank of 12 [Applause] kley speed is still there so Tom running out for kley need that at least three birdies to catch Michelson for start in the clubhous
Yeah he’ll wait for the group ahead that includes kley and Henley give him a little bit more time too just to assist the win back on the te get a feel for that should just turn a fraction to his left B done so that’s a good up and down from the
Back mix that bag really just that Miss on the opening Hall 14 and the second for Patrick Reed took a while before hitting this shot the wind has been fluctuating here at the 14th green and he could not find the right club that one goes long for Reed
That is going to be lightning fast from back there back to 13 and morawa has this for birdie well there you go mied bag of birdies and Bogies the two-time major Champion now this is found as important shot as you’ll ever face just over right
At that 130 to just over 130 with that club okay yeah all right Bud see your shot Dy second hottest all on the golf course today nine iron in his hand that’s plenty 143 directly at the flag if you dare to do that that would cover oh it’s good just hit it
Smooth that is textbook right right there that’s the discipline there’s only n yards between that front bunker and the brace of bunkers at the back he played with Tiger Woods in the final round last year SP to Adam hazy’s caddy yesterday he said he was so impressed
With the way tiger was working his iron shots into all of these whole locations how smart he played this golf course well that is not going to threat the flag stick yeah poor shot just struggled really opened up 6567 looked like he was going to increase the lead 14 and shley in the
Fairway with his Approach at 14 looking good on the left side now it’ll come back down that’s how you do it shley with one of the best of the day here at 14 yeah fully committed up to 18 damn Young comes here at seven under which is
One behind Nicholson who’s in uh I agree and there’s no reason to’ve been waiting all day it’s there the flag’s blowing everything up there says it’s there it’s good cading right there from Paul tor remember he made Eagle drove the green at St Andrews 72 hole def finish second to cam Smith
Left exact same thing that he did at the 14th today and off of 15t missed it way left as well 14 and Trevor already warned us how fast this pitch is for Reed now where will it stop okay back to back birdies for Reed but that putt is for par at 14 to
13 here’s the third shot for Henley 104 yards should be able to get plenty of spin is it coming down it’s going down the other side of the ridge didn’t catch enough of the side bank so a little disappointing for Henley one of the most stressful shots
That you’ll face when you’re sitting on the lead at Augusta that mission has has been accomplished and what a relief that has to be although you of course can’t let your guard down at any point but that’s the one that keeps you up at night yeah couple things that I really
Loved about that stayed in his routine didn’t start taking extra time and just made a beautifully committed swing 14 Reed for par so his momentum stalls back to 12 it’s amazing with John Ram his Amer career he spent 60 weeks as the best Amer in the world yet never played here as an
Amer play the US Open made the cut there Bo Capo went to Europe when he first turned professional got success there then came State Side still looking for major number five needs magic and doesn’t have it it’s nice to see him healthy though both knees had to be operated on left
One by Dr Andrews and the right one by Neil allatra it’s taking three years to get fully healthy now R well he’ll have some 40 ft out to that t-shot 14 only four birdies at 14 today shle for birdie still only four birdies at this Par Four in the final round back to
12 so thought thir part of this putt slow up the hill and it flattens out turns right yes and we also have the Shadows that are part of the equation little bit shorter but similar shape to the putt that tiger had here for birdie in 2019 just play a little extra big don’t
Get it low if it gets low that’s when it’ll start trickling too far from the hole seems to have kept it nice and high great part stress free l two holes really Frank both times with the conservative playe to the green and then perfect speed on the putt just leaves a little
Tap in for par two shot cushion he appears okay at the moment all you have to do is dip into the history box he knows that he a smart man he knows the history of this golf course especially on the second nine kka somehow this has to go
In didn’t take any time at all really work to be done y Mark we go to 13 you got Henley seven under for birdie showing too much respect for the speed still flumix by that third shot that he thought he’d get close 18 young very difficult shot this going for the bump
Sticky first bounce there the bump and stop not the bump and run and kka has not again made a birdie as he’s got this for bogie in 22 holes Frank yeah it’s a different man to the one we saw through the first two rounds at the
Moment yeah that was well done yeah at one stage he h it to 13 under was when he birdied the second hleer in round three R much has been made the extra 35 yards added to the 13th that make the decision even harder this year and Trevor it’s interesting it’s
Playing more like it did in Years Gone by you have to hit a good t- shot absolutely now the decision needs to be made on both shots the t- shot how much do you want to hug that left hand side and bring Ray Creek into play and then
If you do manage to pull that off you’re going to be going in with longer Club good news for these players today with that northeaster is that the wind on the t-shot will be coming from the right so they can buy some room out to that right
Hand side and try and coat it back towards the left corner if they want to beauti view right there they’re going to have another weight on their hands at 15 Justin Rose for birdie three under for the winner this year at Pebble Beach his 18th Master been a contender many times
Including in the playoff with serg six years back havlin second to 13 hang on hang on riding that wind into that little Hollow ball is so far above your feet here and you know that you can’t hang on to it cuz then the creek Looms this is the stretch this morning when he
Got himself into contention with five consecutive birdies needs to start that again this is for par to join SP in the clubhouse minus seven keep going and now D t- shot at 13 oh he’s a little aggressive here but he’s going to get away with it this is so good right
Here this is so good that surprise you at all even though he loves his left to right he goes with the draw and plays it beautifully I would have understand 100% % I would have understood if he took the three-wood and just played safely out to
The right hand side but even though his favorite shot is left to right he still stood up there and rode that wind around the corner perfect tremendous and now cap go if he’s going to expect to do anything it must start now that’s right well he can do something with that
Time for a little snack and then who knows you win the Green Jacket they have a little dinner for you tonight with the membership while he has a little snack we’ll take a look at this swing likes to push the ball forward and aim to the right when he
Goes for the draw you see that he sets that club head a little further back that gets his low point a little earlier that way the club faces little more closed through impact and that was so impressive yeah that next meal could be a little fancier food for John rum the
13th hole is zelia Trevor one of the great holes in the world right here it really is and the new Masters te this year has been a great enhancement Fairway plays much wider for these players now you can see that landing area it’s about 300 yd through on a
Direct line to those pine trees and if players have hit a good t- shot they have been able to comfortably get up with anything from a fivewood or a hybrid to a medium iron and there the two layup areas today you could use either one of those for this whole
Location in the middle right portion and the majority of the players using that Ridge up the left hand side to spin the ball back down you go across the Hogan to the 12th green you exit the 13th across the Nelson Bridge you can feel all that history in your Footsteps walking up the 18th and about to be recognized for his achievement a year ago is Scotty shorth 13 Victor havlin here in two got to be careful here you need some control and some check down the hill he’s done that well that’s good leave there he’ll be putting
Back up the hill his short game is much improved now Reed trying to step on the gas at the 15th the line is good is it enough stays up 14 and the second for Russell Henley just three off the lead and misses to the whole right and that’ll feed
Away so a tough one there for Russell Henley up to 18 Scotty shuffler he had it going big early in this round sure did 12 is where it all came undone when he air mailed the green had to take it unplay I’ve never seen anyone have to take an
Unplayable in a worse spot than he did basically dropped it just inches from an aelia Bush and you see how it started how it stands Phil mikkelson soaring on that second side 31 in all of a sudden it felt like Kwa again when he became the oldest major champion 13 entri
Kley is not where he wanted to be in three actually see ROM waiting down in the Fairway there as well these two can’t l and havin played so well this morning you thought maybe there’ll be a carryover and maybe these two can feed off of one another and get into the mix
But it has been for them so far has been a final round without any Buzz yeah for can play it’s been due to that club missed a number of putts inside of 5T not used to seeing that from him ordinarily a pretty reliable putter and ROM standing back in the Fairway
Watching and he’s already of course figuring out exactly how he’s going to play this second shot which could give him a chance to get some separation but you got ke in position to score here too what do you think John’s thinking right here so many thoughts that could be
Rambling through your mind but he’s just trying to stay in the present look at this drive reminds me of 11 11 he also had one of the longest t- shots of the day here at 13 as well one’s the best by far now for his par it’s a five one over for the
[Applause] round in 18 Scotty tied for 12 needs this for par well done under par for three of the four days shoot 70 in the final round when he hold that put at 11 that 40 footer all of a sudden you thought just maybe he could do something with the five pars
Coming up they played the remainder of the way thanks in large part to the misstep at 12 in two over par havin for biry must make to have a chance he’s got that chance it’s his first of the final round he made him in bunches earlier maybe
That’ll start something for him capka as always these two are ready to go and Brooks what does he have here Donnie I have five iron from my L that’ll want to make this ball go to the left the wind even more so you called it wow look at how that is a pretty
Significant s SL downhill awkward there coming from the second cut ball below his feet may have to get one foot in the bunker and certainly looks like there will be a stance Issue now after taking the risk the reward is just a medium iron in Dy it’s a six iron yes remember though his misses have been to the right he has to stand on this shot and stay all in it looking just right of it trying to turn it back to the middle [Applause]
No water issues here catch a piece that’s fine into the SW at 15 Reed for eagle that R’s out to 4 feet and 14 well Russell Henley has 40t for birdie Henley lives in Columbus Georgia which is also where Larry m lives these days and when M finished his
Final competitive round at the Masters tournament yesterday morning Henley greeted him walking off the 18th green have to be firm with this putt up the hill and that left for [Applause] par Larry m one of the iconic shots in Augusta history in the playoff in 87 [Applause]
Boy who grew up in Augusta used to work to scoreboard off the third hole during the tournament who would grow up to wear a green jacket he said goodbye this week as did Sandy ly who hit this shot in 88 and then went on to make the putt to beat maral CIA by one two players saying goodbye the two always linked together because it was M as the defending champion who put the green jacket on the shoulders of La the following year and they both exit Augusta Together great memories from the both and there is Henley who greeted M yesterday after he completed his final competitive round at the Masters Henley now eyeing up an important par put and while we wait we send it up to 15 and chance to get to Seven
Under can he do what char swatzel did and Birdie the last four that’s that was in 2011 that was incredible so Reed still hanging in there even with a seven on the second hole today now how hard is this doy you’ve got to look at it it’s very difficult
But he does have room for his feet okay looks like to me the best way to play this shot is to get it on the green before you let it check and go down the hill I don’t like the idea of bumping it into the hill it’s just sticky enough
Trevor yeah the only thing though is that that slope is so steep it’s going to hood the club so much looks to me like he may try bumping he’s got that ball back in his stance now HS it into the hill that needs to sit uh-oh better hit the flag could bring
Water into play if if he’s not careful it’s going to stop he let’s go to 14 and let’s see if Henley can save par at 14 to remain three back good two- cut there and now hangley makes his way to the par five 15 [Applause] hole back to
13 and now what kind of shot are we going to see from ROM for his third it’s going to be a shot he has to play out to his left get it to the Apex and let it turn right should be able to control the spin on the second bounce yeah it’s certainly
One you would have practiced that’s a very good line beautiful speed how about [Applause] it [Applause] great shot by Ram as we go to Bennett’s attacking of the 15th it’s way back there 256 this could go a long way for him to finish in that
Top 12 to get an invite back for next year great shot the St on the back 16 and Patrick Reed on the [Applause] te bunker good lie though back to 13 kapka in a knee bin to examine that’s something he couldn’t do for a long time after Neil allr operated on that knee
The second time he had surgery flat light down here you have to trust what you feel in your feet says it’s been huge to be able to do that again yeah this for Birdie turn it in don’t count him out what an up and down that is at
13 finally a birdie and that’s what he’s saying right here it’s been hours since his birdie at the eighth hole this morning okay can ROM put it right on top of him he had a chance with a parut at nine to widen the lead lead to three for the first
Time failed to make it shouldn’t be much in it if he makes this he extends his lead three up with five to play Kea pulls even with Phil at eight under [Applause] par can you imagine being a college student and having people showering you with Applause as you walk across the
Sisen bridge someone wake me up by the way tomorrow back at Texas A&M he’s supposed to play 36 holes in the Aggie Invitational and you carry your own [Laughter] bag that’s awesome can’t wait to see what kind of shot shaped Rah goes with here this morning
It this morning he went with the bullet fade I like that same play the holes cut left half what do we got for wind Dy say again please what do we got for wind um there’s really not much out here right now it’s really quieted down Fairway is clear at 14
That was Press replay big drive just leaks out to the right at the end and see that tree right in front meanwhile up ahead at the green at 14 havland his third coming up the hill that’s a beautiful shot by havin chance to save par now back at the T it’s
Kea needs a soft bounce gently so kka and Rah both off to the right here at [Applause] 14 [Applause] to 15 this has been it for Eagle it’s such a tough Puck because you have that one part of the green little shoulder you have to put it over and flirt with The
Fringe at 16 and from behind the green here is Xander Schley currently at four [Applause] under oh is that well [Applause] played to 14 the third for Klay and Patrick Reed just a short time ago had a very similar shot just want to get this on the green and then watch it run so both Klay and havin play nice
Thirds par putts coming up as we go to Patrick Reed and Reed out of the bunker oh he’s got six feet left good to 15 and it now with his second punch nothing to hang your head about going to be one of the higher finishes
We’ve seen by an amateur in a long time he going to right up there but it’s Rah leading by three in the late stages back at 16 here is Patrick Reed for par beautiful stroke to make that putt just like spe down the hill it is so quick and to 15 Russell
Henley and a lay up 265 might have been at a point to where if he goes with three wood might be coming in a bit hot there laid up in a good spot 14 havlin for par oh no so havin drops one at 14 and now back to [Applause]
Kka there’s a low opening at the left quarter of the green will it get over that Ridge needs a little more Andrew did it get gets over it’ll funnel away but pretty good for kka from there not what he needs though down by three really still a good golf shot no
Doubt yeah still in the game has one that’ll Force the trajectory down think started at the left edge of yeah absolutely yeah needs to do is comes proper correct 109 that’s correct 39 got listening to them there sounded like he was going to aim it at the left edge
Of the green hidden normal one cut it on the wind and try and let it feed down there the terrain would want it to go that way got to think he’s got to flight it down just a touch to make sure Yep this is good shot by Rob this is
Going to get a lot better too going to get a a lot better how about it for John [Applause] ROM see him leaning into that front side there leading with the hands making sure that he flights it down doesn’t let it pop up into that tree in front of him seventh Masters for John ROM and with this Sunday whole location at 14 he knew exactly what he wanted to do and
Now he’s in great position to make a birdie and we’ve only seen four birdies at 14 all day long let’s go up to 16 and on the tea 23-year-old Sam Bennett [Applause] he acts like he’s played here several times [Applause] at 18 Gary Woodland who was 4 under through the first eight holes today finishing up at three underp just wonder if that a pit shot at the ninth hole and Roll Just a fraction more probably will have curled up close to the hole for a par momentum
How long and how far could it have taken him so go back to the 14th and bright Sunshine across this 14th green with kka having 40 feet for birdie and doy this is uphill he has to be aggressive with it it’s putting up the big hill of the whole Golf Course
Away from the creek should want to wiggle left at the very [Applause] end so PKA will Mark and meanwhile s Bennett has become a favorite of the patrons here and welld deserved with his performance this week now back at 14 and kka is away I think back to 8:30 this morning
When we joined you on CBS Brooks kepo is 13 under par since then he is five over par hasn’t hit any horrific shots it just hasn’t been sharp one three putt in there and now a second three putt doy kept a four behind he woke up this morning ahead by four and now
ROM can really create separation with just four holes to play Don’t anticipate this having too much speed going down the hill oh he tucks it in Shan Ron to 12 under only the fifth birdie of the day at the 14th hole and Rah up four with four holes
Left very nice there very nice let’s go [Applause] John 15 Henley playing his [Applause] third he’s currently tied for [Applause] third okay on the back shelf there but 265 to the hold this decided to lay up back at 16 and Colin morawa who was long and left oh boy that checks up perfectly and really nicely done
Back to 15 all right John ROM trying to become a major Champion for the second time and it would be if he does so the seventh straight major won by a player in his 20s it’s a streak that began with John rum at Tory Pines the summer of 2021 right
Left the last non 20-year-old to win a major is the man in second place right now Phil Mickelson who was 50 at the PGA 21 16 that was a Miss by Sam Bennett and you saw Mark how got a tap in left so uh benett will complete his
Work Sam Bennett will remain at three under P back to 15 Henley has this for birdie to pull into a tie for [Applause] second playing well today two under he’s never had a top 10 in a maor a four-time winner on the PGA tour he’d like to have taken advantage
Of at least one of those two-part fives oh dude these two have been working together since the fall of 2016 and Adam has been on the bag for all 19 of John’s wins on the PGA tour and worldwide combined at 15 Fairway you’ve got
Hlin lot of Hang Time here ban for it to go stay there it’s gone at 18 Justin Rose nicely done top 20 finish from one Jr to another we go to the 15th four ahead four to play trying to become the fourth Spaniard to win The Masters [Applause]
Let watching it down that right side and it’s fine I’m sure he loved that one Trevor it’s safe and it’s down the right hand side he’ll have the decision to make if he doesn’t feel it lay up down the left no issues ke’s got to try and push it down
Here as far as he Can it’s blood for a pass run this one goes yeah it starts to trundle a little left and you start bringing in some limbs probably down in that same area hland [Applause] was at 16 and on the te University of Georgia X Russell Henley well that doesn’t quite get the ridge in the
Roll he’s heard more than a few shots of gold dogs today let’s go forward and to the 17th hole Patrick Reed for p and like so many before him coming up a little short there at 17 so Reed will head to the last seven underpart continues to snap
Back as he’s eating up this leaderboard what a run it’s been and for Spain trying to be the fourth as you mentioned Trevor sebie did it twice Jose Maria twice and the last time the Masters finished on in April the 9th was in 2017 and it belonged to a Spaniard on
That day in Sergio Garcia baby [Applause] John ROM already with three wins since the start of the year he’s won at impressive places caloa he won the old Bob Hope he won at Riviera up ahead same hole fourth shot after after the drop for hoplin that almost hopped in took a peak
Didn’t it real good Dy what’s it look like back there for Big John I think he’s so far back the decisions been made for him 256 front 273 hole I’m just not sure that the timing in the theater warrant that big of a risk the fact that his uh yardage
Book has the Rambo cover on on the outside and on the inside it’s got the Arizona State sundevil logo Adam Hayes showed up at caloa with that beard John said like it they won and Adam hasn’t shaved it since because they think it’s good luck maybe that’s
What it is there’s a 15 green kly for birdie keep [Applause] going it’s going to be lay up here Trevor yep lay like the play Sorry laying up a seven iron this look down their [Applause] 20 sure did they would have figured out what kind of number they looking for for the wedge
Shot a number that he would be very comfortable with something he’s practiced a lot caddy Adam Hayes said yesterday that last week that’s all they focused on short game getting away from technique getting into the fields for the short game it’s worked well so far this week could hear some of the patrons
Calling out B to Ram we go let’s go okay let’s see what harling can [Applause] do breaking right with a penalty stroke of five yeah yeah I love it that’s five iron in Brook’s hands trees are not in the way with a little right to left wind that’s a fine
Shot hooked that around the tree got it the hole high at 16 and here’s Russell Henley’s bid for birie well he said seven under th back of John mom and currently in the tie for third two to go let’s go to 15 it’s not a long shot but it’s an uneven
Lie always this is one of the harder short shots in the game yeah you got another five almost six Hill Li tends to be into the grain 80 y shot there yeah s is good degree of difficulty here Trevor because you’re hitting it off the slope because of the situation very
Difficult just make sure you keep your body moving through don’t stall the body cuz then you can catch it heavy certainly not heavy S A Cris well done he knows that’s a big one 16 man from Oslo on the T Victor hin it has not been a good [Applause] [Applause]
Day seen a lot of players long left at 16 today Vern more so than I can remember in recent years back to 15 Dy there’s been a lot of support out there for John today there certainly has it seems to have grown as the day goes on sensing something special
Here kind of fought his way through a unsettled start in command now Patrick Reed’s at the 18th the winner here five years ago looks good and that’s high enough off the slope to get closer right left you got to play that yeah don’t back at [Applause] 15 kka was asked this week about on his goals and he’s very open about what he plays the game for and it’s to him it’s all about winning the career Grand Slam which at the start of the day had some people thinking okay if he closes this out
Today he’ll have three legs of the career Grand Slam with the two pgaas the two US opens and of course this would be his Green Jacket performance he’s been looking at ahead at Royal Liverpool this summer at Hoy Lake he could have been going for it
It’s not over yet he’s got this for a [Applause] three can he hit it what’s been uh the biggest undoing for him today Trevor you think well everything has just been a little bit off but the putter in particular 17 and Sam bannett his third shot here just missing short right
Bo he h some beautiful little pit shots hasn’t he wonderful touch the young Texan has really won a lot of Hearts this week three underpar amazing stuff for the young amateur back to 15 Dy what do you see in this part see a part that’s a touch up
Hill that should want to wiggle if it goes anywhere a little left okay no damage done he’s getting past all these points on the golf course where you can lose a tournament you can put a big number in play it’s at this point that your mind starts racing ahead and you just keep
Trying to catch yourself bring it back shot for shot cap can now get back into a tie for second with Phil that birdie there will give Brooks the honor at 16 can he find a way to create some magic to finish if you think about it Trevor John really needs to make five
Good golf swings but here here in the clubhouse great way to think about it day ddy Rambo is what it says and once he got to this second side and Michels had a posted he has certainly played as though wasn’t a care in the world about that 800 par post here’s 16 [Applause]
Hin remember a similar shot the gala this one worked out pretty [Applause] well 25y old young man whose parents were born in India All-American Collegian at Pepperdine that was about an hour and a half ago let’s go forward to Patrick Reed he’s got this for birdie ver beautiful
Cut into a tie with Jordan SP for fourth finishing on the other side of the course split te’s in the afternoon Fred Couples began playing the game as a young boy at Jefferson Park downtown Seattle just on the outskirts when he he went into the Hall of Fame Frank Nao referenced that 10
Years ago his last line was thank you for taking a kid out of Seattle and electing him into the Hall of Fame this a celebration of his longevity this week at Augustus setting the record for the longest oldest player to make a master’s cut burn and out here Jim we’ve got Patrick catley
He’s just a few yards away right Wow might have got the whole location sheets mixed up Fern that’s where the hole was in round three that’s right this is going to be such a difficult put here he’s got to keep it up on that top ledge as long as he can
And then it’ll just drop over only the hole can stop it I would venture guess that the three putt potential here is pretty obvious pretty much has his back turned to the hall here mhm got to get it up into the sunlight the fort makes its way Down nope no that’s not that you’re right Trevor that was not far enough so the Adventure Continues for both these competitors well surveying work yet to do yet to be done and uh Brooks and John patiently waiting back on the 16th team I would say that John Romas more patient than Brooks
Kea can’t play that’s three Bogies on the second nine next up just the latest headlines with rums leaded four it began the day down four and we restarted at 8:30 and kep been 5 over since the morning Phil Mickelson oldest top five finish in Masters history 51 years the record had belonged
To Jimmy dearit and Phil at 52 usurps that back to 16 H so Victor remains at five under par ra trying to stay focused as best as he can there not look around too much it’s a six iron in K’s [Applause] hand great line next up the man who leads by four same
Club and I thought it was so smart that coming off the 15th it took a moment and just slowed down no reason to rush over to 16 just let the moment breathe key in on that TV tower Behind the Green that’s the target That will take the ridge and now he begins to take the second best walk in [Applause] Augusta at 18 Sam Bennett playing his third shot got to make this for the top 12 here Jim that’s a fine [Applause] shot how many new fans did he make this week as they walk along the pond at the 16 one can almost feel the jacket on his
Shoulders think you’re right ver that’s the second best walk but nothing can top this at 18 especially late on a Sunday now Bobby Jones wanted this tournament to always honor the amateur it’s a deep part of the tournament Heritage and he repped the amateur class with such Grace this week There’s 100 years ago Jones won his first major of the 1923 US Open Ed Inwood there’s Sam Bennett got to play all four days they got to play in the final grouping for the third round which means because of the weather he can say he played in the final grouping on both
Saturday and Sunday at right we’re back at 16 and that was a future participant watching on he hopes his dad hopes and here’s Brooks Kea there you go there you go not done yet Vern nope not at all now John ROM Daddy what do you see
Here I see this downhill moving a touch to the right but a puth it over time many people have left on the high side [Applause] three up two to go John ROM and books kka go to 17 while we go to 18 nice to see these Rays spread across the
18th green after all the weather that these players endured from late Friday all the way through Saturday this for par [Applause] there’s any put that you think about it Augusta is 18th it’s that one and V got a chance to roll one shakes his head he’s disappointed with the bogey but
He’ll get over it this was just truly a memorable performance morawa that’s a four he’s tied for 10 shin and shley and Fitzpatrick w back to the last two at 17 Brooks to go first after that magical birdie at 16 and another one to the left Trevor
That the driver left him a little bit this afternoon starting right on the first T when he hit the three-wood left and then a couple other times eight the driver went left as well hit a tree Trevor and did come down he should have a shot John has played this hole
434 and each day just a little Fairway finder with the fade seems to be the right shot here it’s an awkward driving hole just doesn’t look inviting down there exactly what he was looking for absolutely perfect he’s played very smart this closing nine holes did everything he
Should have done right from the 10th hole Trev middle of the green lag P same at 11 same at 12 avoided the water as you suggested it’s been a clinic yeah it sure has been great exhibition of golf the way he’s managed himself his game his emotions has been so [Applause] impressive Sam
Bennett smile coming across his face now overwhelmed with [Applause] Emotion the Champions locker room is about to have a new occupant Trevor I can’t even imagine what it’s like to come back and see that every day your name on a plate gives me goosebumps every single time I walk in there Jim and you share your locker with
Sir Nick feldo right next to Adam Scott and Gary Player there you go you got room for ROM sure do if he does win guys it’ll give Spain four different Masters champions most of any international country and six total Masters titles which passes South Africa’s five for most of any international
Country and something special going up ahead here at the green with Victor hland and Patrick kley finishing up Victor just I saw there in the foreground as we’re watching John walk up the crowd went up Victor finds the cup again fighting back two over on his round six under
Total might give John a little charge as well hearing that Roar and see that happen wind swirling around still up here on top of the hill here at 17 figure out that wind fire it into the middle of the Grain and don’t go long does he have much of a shot here
Doy Brooks he doesn’t he has a Li and a swing but it’s going to have to be a a bit of a boomer to get it out of here low and then turning hard similar to the shop we saw Justin Thomas play the other day A B low
Hook oh yeah oh he’s played it well it’s actually really well got it up there past my tower and that’s uh not an easy chip but about whole High bump it up the bank 129 just pass the bunker there that’s yeah it’s a straight one of
Those you got it my man see that shot all right yes sir just make sure you don’t go long here correct anything 20 25 ft short perfect it’s nine iron 157 wind from the left straight over the middle of the bunker just to the right of the tower exactly where it started
In and as you said Trevor right on line with a nice and safe short of the hole about 30 ft once again making the correct decision every time I head to the last Russell Henley has a chance with this to move into a tie for third you
Never know he could have up tied second if he makes it credit to him he didn’t really show a whole lot of nerves I thought today Henley two under for the day back on the te havlin nice [Applause] shot and now monama to finish his Masters just aoup couple of those
Today putter betrayed him he is loved around here and there is his running mate shot the moment will’ll always remember no one’s looking at least that’s what you think you bound out of respect a Fuji is some kind of credit to his country and to his fellow Countryman the champion of 21 ateki
Monama there’s a guy as Georgia proud Russell Henley cars every hole coming in just didn’t quite have the fire power on the par fives to get up in two on the second nine can have a top five finish used to attend this tournament as a young boy for five straight years in
Fact starting at the age of 12 back at 17 well he needed to hold that one and then Birdie the last to do anything special really looks like a perhaps another runner-up finish here he was second to Tiger Woods in 19 four wins in Majors three runner-up finishes he is a a
Major Express he just loves the pressure of the majors didn’t handle it so well today but proved to himself that he’s fit again knocked that one in par the last for outright second the other thing I notic when I look at the the leaderboard with mikkelson there finishing at 8 under par
He was really John’s Mentor when he first came out here on tour Phil’s brother Tim was his coach at ASU where he was a four-time allamerican and Phil really helped him along the way mentored him guided him and here he is perhaps beating him putting the green jacket on his
Shoulders and joining Trevor in the locker room little cautious oh he’s left himself some work to do there Trevor sure has little slow up the hill of course he’ll return to world number one as well with the win here Place very familiar to him it’s been a battle between he and Scotty
Sheffer Rory maroy over the last couple of years might be a good thing that he left that putt so far short it’s going to keep him really engaged not let his mind start to wander forward Brooks for par must Make and will be a disappointing bogey drops back in a tie for second with Phil fought back with a couple of good birdies at 15 and 16 but just uh too little too late it’s also really hard to be um in in go mode when you’ve driven the golf ball the way Brooks did today yes missed too many Fairways missed a
Couple of shortish puts that could have kept the momentum going K’s Miss really has taken all of the pressure off of ram here hasn’t it yes cuz he’s now got that four shot Advantage even if he does miss it he’s still got three going up the last it’s that’s a nice
Feeling when I won the open I had a three- shot lead going up the last you can feel a little bit more Fresh Air with the breath as you walk up there did get a look at kers it’ll break to his right yeah it lacks speed it drops away quite
Sharply clear your thoughts take your time via John Ram be sey on sev’s birthday he heads to the last hole with a four-shot lead about to become a two-time major champion and a master’s Champion for life bogy for Brooks can he do something special up the last to get into outright
Second it’s been a battle it’s John has come out on top from an opening four po to opening the day four down to being four up little hurt little right can you guys move the Shadows please just a little that way thank you thanks on the right yes exactly left going
Left pointing back toward the second cut in front of the Fairway not quite not sure where that popped up it is short of the Fairway got spit out it’s down at Hollow now [Applause] Capco he’s going with a provisional here just in case so he hasn’t got word yet
Where that ball went can you imagine the anxiety he’s feeling oh my word that would be a provisional for a lost ball Patron starting to move a baby it’s the one he wanted the first time R heing he safe he’s going to get a pretty big sigh
Of relief when he gets word he could well he won’t have to walk far because it didn’t reach the Fairway how do you see it I do wonder if John knows there it is he’s turned this into a three shot part five Jim I can’t remember a champion ever having to hit a provisional off of 18 no this is something we’ll be able to give him a hard time about in the Champions locker room next year forar havin 74 for Victor he only could have kept that hot streak going in the afternoon that he
Exhibited this morning backto back top 10 in Mages at the open last year and now the Masters yeah in both occasions he played late and shot 74 mhm so he’s learning yep there’ll be many more times to contend as cley’s in that’s 75 for Patrick would have guessed if not both
Of them at least one of them would have pressed the final pairing today but it was never there Victor finish is tied seventh catl tied 14th TR to get out there in the Fairway and then have a wedge you know wedge it in there’s no need to hit I mean you
Could hit a fivewood and slice there you go and you really head back there Trevor yeah exactly and if we go straight yeah all right just a little Fade up there love it pal keep it positive trying to hit the screaming fade around the corner leave himself a short Club [Applause] [Applause]
In we get the job done right there about to win at the age of 28 the Masters I look back at some of the other 28-year-old firsttime winners of Augusta throw some names at you here Trevor Danny Willet cig Stadler Larry m Jose Maria Arnold Palmer Trevor imman I mentioned
Olafo he went to a banquet when he was 12 years old to John as he was a big decorated boys champion in Spain and at this function he was so excited to see Ola he knew all about him he ran over to shake his hand and almost did not even
Acknowledge sevy he didn’t know it was sevy and his father almost had a heart attack watching all this and he went over and finally had that one fleeting moment to seei and he says I’ll never forget it I almost blew it and today he’s going to be linked to him for a second
Time cap that’s six iron away come on down ke can make that putt he’ll get into second on his own here’s one for you too he’ll become the second player from Spain to win two different Majors sevy won the Masters and the open won the 21 US Open and on his way
Now to winning the Masters they want him to give them the big Ovation but let him play his third first and we talk sequentially for those who in terms of racking up Majors went Us open as a first and Masters as their second Jack Nicholas 62 us Ed Oakmont 63
Masters this is the 60-year anniversary and Dustin Johnson two of those to do that he’s going to join that list includes those two names one last good solid strike oh yes some major style points now he knows he’s got it there’s a magnetism about rum you’ve always sensed it but here the
Feeling it is palpable and I’m sure you felt it at home every time he got a step closer to the lead and then overtook kep it for the lead he might just close this out with a sevy par here on the 18th Jim why not when sevy won 40 years ago for his
Second Masters he chipped in for par on the last toll if you remember D fitting way to end [Applause] it Cruz Kelly’s wife that just had their second son last August in Echo and that’s the little boy right there Kappa who celebrated his second Birthday Jose Maria comes down to greet the new
Champion he’s been a absolute essential mentor and friend for John in his development it’s interesting his oldest boy’s name is k paa it’s a basque name where he’s from where Jose Maria is from that area seb’s from that area growing up looking over the Bay of
Bisque his boy’s name is Kappa and today he had to go for 30 holes in a duel against kka and here is Bri Brooks for his birdie for second alone for second [Applause] alone will share second with melon and now the stage is [Applause] cleared some part wouldn’t it didn’t
Even reach the Fairway with his t- knock it in for a round of 69 and a four shot win from Sun to Sunset Rah wins the Master’s Marathon hello can I take it a kiss you get [Applause] no bring out his little eight-month-old Second Son Ino
And his father is on hand for this we mention how his father’s been influential made sure that he went over and said hello to seie his father ort it’s wonderful so special why are you walking away from holy conratulations [Applause] Papa a what a popular win his sweetheart sweethearts from Arizona
State walk off hand in hand tears flowing where this game can take you from a coastal Bas town of just 1500 called Bara Spain to where you work hard enough and there’s his friend by the way DJ Gregory who’s followed him so many times and John has been a great friend to DJ
Everyone knows DJ’s story out on the tour thir class Jordan spe waiting from Bara to the toast of the [Applause] World w there’s an old Spanish saying for one who emits a sense of magnetism it’s called DND John Ron unquestionably has dwin that makes him today one of the game’s greatest attractions and heroes Morawa in that group at 400 that finished tied for 10th kley and Woodland top 15 finishes Sam Bennett is coming down to Butler cabin soon to be recognized as the low amateur you saw Scotty shuffler who will be here to present the green jacket he finished in a tie for 10th in his Defense Dustin Johnson Thomas Peters Fred Couples schwarzel porel and Mitchell tiger made the cut be the 54th but had the withdraw this morning John ROM this is a look back at his day in round four at the third hole for Birdie and then at the eighth at what point were you sensing Trevor that the moment was all steered in his Direction well that pu down the hill on three sure was impressive but right around eight there is when he started to get his nose in front and
From that moment on it was just absolutely clinical if you’re going to win here you have to be able to handle those shots around the green Scotty was brilliant last year and ROM was as well in 23 this was some second shot at the 14th to set up a [Applause]
Birdie no boogies on the second nine coming home he had two birdies the saving part 17 and then how about the one at 18 it’s been a spectacular year and now he’s got a fourth victory since January the fourth Master’s champion from Spain and the last two times now
That the final round has been played on seb’s birthday it’s gone to a spard Sergio in 17 and today John [Applause] taught Jose Maria who spread the message to Sergio and continues to this day to spread the love and mentoring to John ROM who’s headed to Butler cabin for his green
Jacket it was an amazing day in Augusta a long one but one with high drama riveting from the start at 8:30 and what an amazing effort by so many people to give this tournament to a Sunday finish at Sunset I want to thank all the women and
Men Who provided just countless hours of coverage and worked all day on presenting the Master’s tournament to all the broadcasters around the World There were times here as a Friday afternoon you wondered would we ever see the sun again this year’s tournament today we were bathing in sunshine to see this glorious final round performance Rah winning by four over mikkelson and capka Jordan spe rallied shot 66 and ties for fourth with Patrick Reed and Russell
Henley Total of 25 players ended up in red figures fenale Stallings and others finishing at even Par day that began with one player Brooks capka four in front right away at the restart when the horn sounded at 8:30 there was a twoot swing John rum who had to overcome not only that fourstroke deficit he had to overcome the mental frustration of an opening hole four pot on
Thursday reminiscent of Ben Hogan one time playing it Colonial and opening up with a dou bogy 7 one of his playing competitors Ken Venturi said too bad about that double there Ben as they walked to the second hole and Hogan said that’s why you play 72
Holes that was the story The Fitting of John ROM this week we now send you over to Amanda rener with Brooks capka joining us now is Brooks kka Brooks first of all thank you for the time winning major championships is not easy you you’ve done it four times what
Would you say was the biggest challenge for you today uh you know I I just kind of played average and I didn’t get any good breaks either it was you know for that ball to stay there on nine um it could have been it would have been a tap in
Pretty much um the part Theses I on the front I hit good shots they just ended up in some tough spots and you know that’s how it goes uh sometimes but I didn’t feel like I played too bad um and then obviously just Tred to put give it
A run there at the end but just wasn’t good enough congrats to John a really nice moment of sportsmanship with you and John on that final hole what did you say to him I just say congrats it’s it’s super awesome to see he’s been playing
Really well for a while now and um you know to get a green jacket it’s pretty pretty special so enjoy it there’s been a lot of change for you you’ve been fighting through injury you’re now healthy you’ve chosen to switch tours all of these things happening in your
Life how good did it feel to be back here in the mix and get that feeling back that you’ve been talking about that you’re kind of addicted to getting back to that space yeah um look I love it I just there’s some days you have it some
Days you don’t and today just wasn’t one of those but um you know I I feel good and uh I expect to be there you know the other three we appreciate the time thanks Brooks thanks okay Amanda the big board at the 18th doesn’t have a spot left to fill
It’s all complete and it’s a memorable finish and champion John ROM is just now making his way into Butler Cabin and we’re just getting set now getting everyone in place for that time honored tradition Scotty schuffler will be presenting the Green Jacket Sam Bennett as the low amateur will be recognized and tournament chairman AUST a chairman Fred brittley will preside top 12 in ties as you see all of these
Names are invited back to next year’s tournament and includes sahi thala who gave us some wonderful moments today well it’s time for all the emotion excitement the coronation that’s gone on through the years I I don’t know what to say at the moment it’s it’s uh it’s the most nerve-wracking golf
Course in the world isn’t it having to be such a tough quest to finally win it feels that much better I really am so proud to have won this great Championship you know I’ve never played an entire tournament with my aame and this is pretty close I can’t tell you how fortunate I
Am to to win this tournament I’m probably as happy as I’ve ever been in my life to win The Masters tournament is just an amazing feeling I just really don’t know what to say that uh come back down out of the clouds one of these days
I never got this far in my dreams to talk I just couldn’t be more excited and you know I’m kind of at a loss for words can’t put into words what it means that I’ll be able to come back here for a lifetime and welcome everyone to Butler
Cabin it’s time for the Green Jacket presentation what a tournament this has been chairman Ridley uh you think about all the weather obstacles we had to overcome this full day of golf today and in the end you not only have a great Champion but a great memory of this
Tournament thanks Jim it’s been quite a week our patrons here at August National this week and around the world have been treated to quite a finish with John’s come from behind wind well listen we have Scotty here he’s got John’s Green Jacket he’s about to present him with
John we’ll hear from you in a moment fantastic what you did today and Sam Bennett the low amateur who played in the final group in the third round and uh this Crown fell fell in love with what Sam did this week and as you know I’ve talked about it during the
Broadcast the amateur here is such a key part of it you played here three times as a participant in the Masters Tournament it goes back to what Bobby Jones wanted this tournament to represent uh it it sure is important Jim and uh we were so proud of all our seven
Amateurs who played this week and congratulate Sam on his low amateur finish Sam you know I know you came here this week hoping to win the silver cup as low amateur and you’ve done that and you also competed for the Green Jacket a terrific play and uh what was a sense of
Your week this this week it was incredible um you know just getting the opportunity to play Augusta was a dream come true and then getting to see it on Sunday coming on the back nine um you know walking up 18 was by far the coolest experience in my life and um I
Mean the patrons were great all week support of people back home and I mean the Masters and I guess it was everything I ever dreamed of congratulations that walk up 18 was one thing the walk off of 18 you could tell it really touched you there was an outpouring for an amateur
We haven’t seen anything like that in a long time and how do you take this back now to school you’ve got another event coming up this week where you’ll be carrying your own bag playing 36 holes in one day I mean where’s your head right now Sam I I definitely need some
Time to decompress but um yeah I don’t know it was it was a great week and I’m looking forward to getting back and you know looking back on the memories I made but um yeah it’s going to be a might be a 36 whole day grind tomorrow so we’ll
See I still haven’t made my decision but um I think I’m going to play It’s the Aggie Invitational tomorrow 36 hes you carry your own bag and you might want to stop off in Madisonville too at the same time your hometown I’m sure it’s just going crazy congratulations Sam thank you wonderful
Performance chairman you got John rum as your new master master champion John your play today and all week was just spectacular you know 40 years ago your hero sebie Biser won his second green jacket and then you’ve won your first today happens to be his birthday how does all this
Feel I wasn’t sure how how it was all going to come to me up until I had my third challeng green on 18 uh it’s history of the game is a big big part of of why I play and and one of the reason why I play and sebie being one of
Them and if it wasn’t for that wrer copy 97 my dad and I talk about it all the time we don’t know where I would be or as a family where we would be so for for me to get it down on the 40th anniversary of his win his birthday on
Easter Sunday is incredibly meaningful and to finish it off the way I did uh an unusual par very much a sevy par yes it was uh it was uh in a in a nonpurposeful way a testament to to him and I know he was pulling for me today and and he was
A great Sunday congratulations thank you and the story of aleram of course seie was the European Captain there in 97 and that’s your parents attended that event and fell in love with the game and took it up and they passed that level on to you and when did you feel like there was
A turning point in your favor today as the day began with you four behind Brooks I thought eight was uh was a key birdie um I didn’t expect that Bo on N that was a couple of good swings I didn’t expect and then uh I had to get
Through a in corner even part that’s what I was looking at obviously Phil and and Jordan were were making birdies and finishing strong and they were finishing they around us we were finishing 10 so making sure I at the end didn’t put myself in a difficult spot on 10 11 12
Was the key uh and then 13 with right to left winers when I could turn turn a little bit and and get in the attack and that’s what I did so it’s not really one moment but if I had to pick one I would say hitting that draw perfectly on
13 um was was the start of it your badge number and the caddy bib number this week was 49 April 9 I don’t know if there was something in the Stars up because it sure looks like things were aligned and it was a sweet moment not only with
Kelly and your baby boys your dad but to see Jose Maria there to celebrate with you what did he tell you I can’t quite remember remember uh he said hopes is is the first of many more uh we both mentioned something about sevy and uh if
You had given us 10 more seconds I think we would have both ended up crying um I I like to see history kind of repeating itself because when Oli won his second Masters in 99 Sergio was the low it was his first start there uh and my first
Start was the year Sergio won which is also I guess Spaniard just like winning on on Eastern Sunday on a seb’s birthday so I guess uh if by any chance I want to get a few more chairman you you know what to do for me uh just keep putting
It on you know on Easter Day somehow uh and yeah I mean I’m I’m at a loss for words I can’t really say much you know you’re gonna have to ask him because I don’t remember exactly what he said well it’s it’s wonderful to see your love of History because history is important
Around here and now you’re a big part of it chairman it’s time for the green jacket thanks Jim Scotty you’re a great Champion we uh we look we look forward to seeing you all of us at Augusta National look forward to seeing you here competing many years and wearing the
Green jacket and speaking of that we’d be honored if you’d place the green jacket on John sir ready Pro congratulations John well done really proud of you thank you well it was a walk for 30 holes today a walk to the Finish Line where a green jacket would await John
ROM his Legion of fans you could just hear him out there today on every step cheering his every move it’s that way around the world he is on top of the world as he celebrates with Kelly and his kids and Jose Maria and the Masters has a new champion and John ROM

2024 Isn’t too far away now too.
Sheffler to win his second green jacket!!!
I went to the practice round on tuesday in 2023, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Watching the eventual champion John Rahm putt on the massive green, or watching rory smash a drive 330 behind the tee on hole 11. The mystique of augusta especially as the sun comes down, casting an erethal shadow over the course, as the massive georgia pines sway with the wind, the northern Cardinal's chirping.
This year like last the winner will go to LIV for a ridiculous amount of money
And the TRACERS in Augusta finally last few years, we listen about the shot shaping on every hole yet were never able really to see it. Finally here 😊!
1:10:59 😂
The most awesome part with those guys are their recovery shots-when you think ohhh thats bad, really bad they pull off magic..I love to watch recovery shots
Does Cantlay play any faster this time around?
I’ve been waiting for this! Excited for the 2024 masters!
It's almost time! My favorite time of the year, Augusta.
