Good morning dog Nation I am Brandon Adams and this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldog fans presented today by Kroger I got to tell you how much I love my team here our team that helps us put this show together each and every day Kaye Manzel

Cody chafin’s here today first of all Kaylee made sure that Eddie the blind squirrel uh our official mascot of dog Nation daily his gator hater signed today a fixed in Green in honor of the St Patrick’s Day weekend and Cody has found this really cool signage here how

About ugga from the St Patrick’s parade down there in Savannah wearing the green Georgia G sweater so we are decked out today in honor of the St Patrick’s weekend of course we look forward to uh all of you getting a chance to celebrate that over the course of the next couple

Of days and have yourself a good time and be careful of course everyone uh but happy St Patrick’s Day weekend to all of you kind of a great little uh uh sort of way to kind of roll into that weekend we’ve also got a really good show for

You there today as well eyewitness account from Georgia spring practice we got a couple of things to tell you about that major recruiting weekend for Georgia we’ve got something to say to you about that today there as well and there is big news seemingly about to burst when it comes to college football

At large and I would say my take on this may end up being a little bit unpopular don’t say that to intentionally troll but I do think there is an honest conversation that needs to take place so we’ll uh we’ll get that for you coming

Up here in just a little bit there as well but fun is the theme as we roll into the weekend so we’re happy to have you with us for it as we do dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans presented today by Kroger and it begins right now today’s episode

Of dog Nation daily is brought to you by Kroger fresh for everyone presented by dog.com this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans here’s your host Brandon Adams we all love it when spring practice is back for Georgia just gives us a little bit of a different type of

Offseason conversation than you would have when there isn’t some football taking place and the thing that we especially love more than anything else is and listen credit to Georgia for making this available yesterday about 20 minutes worth I guess I was not there for the most part I live in this box

This studio but we did have dog Nation folks there on hand and our buddy Connor Riley was there to give us a little bit of an eyewitness account in the form of a practice rce report that you can read at dog nation.com my two favorite words this time of year are practice report

And if you go to dog nation.com you can read everything that Connor saw there from that Mike Griffith’s got some coverage up at dog nation.com today there as well but uh I’m going to highlight a couple of those things as a part of the discussion we need to have

And we’re going to have some fun with this because apparently one of those guys stepping into a pretty big role here at ug one of those guys is apparently off to a pretty good start there at Georgia right now so let’s talk about this here a little bit let me show

You this from Conor Riley doog nation.com on the subject of Georgia and what you see and one of the names that Connor highlighted was transfer running back from Florida Trevor eten and let me read what Connor says here he says it’s a new era running back for Georgia and

Trevor etian is nowhere near as hulking as Kendall Milton or zamir white these are Big backs that Georgia has leaned on and utilized well in the past Connor goes on to say however his body type is much closer to that of DeAndre Swift a little bit of a swift at end comparison

Most Georgia fans I think will like that here’s something else that I believe the Georgia fans will like there as well Connor goes on to say that ATN was one of his highlight performers from the spring practice period that he got to see because he was leading the running

Backs through drills Connor says this is an encouraging sign for someone who only just arrived on campus earlier this semester we would agree with this too and most of you kind of understand the deal here on this is that you never want to read too much into any of this

Although certainly I am probably always guilty of at least doing that a little bit but there is usually some sort of thought process behind the pecking order of something whoever goes through the drills at first is maybe thought to be the leader of that group that’s not always hard and

Fast rule but it generally proves to be true over time and the fact as Conor said at the end only recently gotten here from Florida and yet he’s already tabbed to be the leader of the Georgia running back group as it goes through these various drills that says something

Pretty nice about Trevor etien adding to that by the way that Kirby Smart the other day was asked about you know transitioning Georgia new team and Kirby’s always very clear to say that every new team in Georgia has a personality all of its own but in kind

Of talking about that now remember we always say this it’s the stuff that Kirby volunteers when he’s not ask about it that always ends up meaning more than anything else Kirby asked a relatively generic question about sort of a transition to a new team and a lot of new faces coaches players everything

Else in the midst of discussing that sort of transitioned to what uh Georgia has in Trevor etn and the stuff that he’s already seen from etn perhaps providing an explanation for why etn was leading the running back drills the other day uh Kirby Smart when spring practice kicked off on

Wednesday everything that we heard about about etm before he got here has held true he’s a tremendous leader he’s a High character kid so like he immediately sures into a leadership role because you know he’s not a first year player he’s he’s been in our league he’s

Been in our conference he has standards and expectations and and he’s High character and he’s proven that the time he’s been here so that’s what you’re hearing from Kirby Smart there on Trevor ATN and that’s the stuff that you want to be able to hear look you can’t KN it

Out of the park through two spring practice of course we know that you know you can’t can’t make a season on the basis of just a couple of practices when George’s not even in full pad yet let’s not overstate what this is but let’s also not understated either that a guy

Like eten came to Georgia for a reason we’ll get more into a moment about what that exact reason was and all you can do right now is be a good leader all you can do right now is set the right example all you can do right now is

Display the hunger that gives you a chance to be the sort of player that Georgia believe you can be and the reviews on that eyewitness account from practice Kirby’s Martin his own words certainly suggest that is true here right now which is probably not surprising then then when Georgia

Quarterback Carson backck had a chance to speak to the media the other day he was also talking about Carson back should say talking about Trevor eten there too and what eten can be for the Georgia offense based on the way that he’s working here this spring Carson

Back on the new Georgia running back I mean yeah it it always helps to have a good running back um where you feel comfortable you know turn your back to the defense handing it off um obviously we saw what he was able to do at Florida

And I mean we’re really happy to have him and you know he’s been working really hard and excited to see what he can do so of course that’s the case but it’s not just Carson be who’s excited to see what Trevor ATN might be able to do

At Georgia we noticed the other day and I know dog Nation wrote a story about this ESPN sort of tabed Trevor ATN is one of the top returning running backs in all of college football what it said about him in the pce at espn.com is one of the biggest off and transfer portal

Moves in all of college football they described him as a potential GameChanger at running back for Georgia a highly productive player at Florida but he was never the leading rusher but at a place like Georgia he’s got the opportunity ESPN says to be the featured back in a

Proven system that values running the ball that’s the description that ESPN gave of what Trevor etien can be at Georgia and all we know through two practices of spring for the dogs is that Trevor retin is off to the kind of start that potentially uh makes all of that

Possible the other thing we know about etn right now there as well is his motivation is exactly where you think it probably needs to be because the way that ESPN described that a guy who was a contributor at Florida and a guy who showed some promise but perhaps has a

Chance to put it together in an even bigger way at Georgia and in doing so create the kind of success for Georgia that frankly right now it’s just not possible at Florida well Trevor aten himself seems to understand that really well there as well we’ve played this for

You before but it fits in so well with what we’re talking about that it seems right to kind of Play It Again when ATN was on with um Tate rattled and Brett Thorson the the Georgia players who do the what do they call the Real Talk

Podcast uh uh Tate R has done that for for a good for a good number of years now eten on the show the other day was talking about all the stuff that ESPN said for him there too the chance to do more at Georgia and have more success

With a team that’s just frankly better we love this from Trevor at thean and it seems so much more relevant now based on the way in which he’s already by appearances fitting in so well at ug here’s Trevor at the end the other day

So you know pretty much to sum it up it was like I could either be running back to on the losing team go somewhere where like I I wanted to play in December too that’s that also played a big uh a big part in uh me transfering so I could

Stay be running back to on a losing team or go somewhere and you know possibly running back one and one a daddy I love at the end of that clip there Tate R Who as I said before has been doing podcasts now for a little bit

Little bit of a time as a podcast host in your ear when you hear something that just sort of works you just sort of have a reaction to that Tate rage laughs because he knows and listen any podcast host wants as much attention as possible for the show that you’re doing when a

Guy like Trevor etn says that I came here to win a Natty because I can’t do that at Florida I came here to be a better player on a better team because I can’t do that at Florida uh that’s a pretty nice quote there and Tate rage I

Think was pretty happy to know they’d captured some gold there with their guest Trevor at the end even though he’s a football player in this particular case it certainly seems like Tate rwi is thinking like a good podcast host probably should so the overall bottom line here is this early days of course

Spring practice has just started we know we understand that and we know that but it seems like it has gotten off to a good start for Trevor at the end Kirby Smart praising his leadership uh Conor Riley eyewitness account seeing him going through those drills first kind of

Setting the tone for the Georgia running back room overall and in etan’s own words he says I may be here for a season but I’m also here for a reason I want to win a National Championship I want to raise my level of play in such a way that makes that National Championship

More possible all part of the reasons why I believe as we head towards the fall Trevor rtien is going to be a very very popular player with almost every Georgia football fan and by the way that’s not only just because he left the lousy stinking Gators in the process although that’s

Certainly part of the fun there too I’m Brandon Adams and this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans we are presented to you today by Kroger and we are happy to have you with us no matter how you get to us live across all video platforms at 10

The radio at noon ath sports radio 96 the ra uh and uh just listen uh podcast speaking of podcast apple and Spotify all of the ways in which you connect with our show including really reliably and dependably showing up right there around noon every day right there at dog nation.com how

Great has that been our good friend Kaye Manel helps us with that each and every day we just really appreciate you being here and I mentioned this to our video audience a moment ago let me mention this to the larger audience here right now how about the uh sort of

Paraphernalia decorating for St Patrick’s Day weekend Eddie signed today a fixed in green ug in the green sweater back here you love all of that we’re rolling into a St Patrick’s Day weekend but also as we roll through March we’re thinking about Easter coming up there as

Well and when you think about Easter I want you to think about my friends at Kroger in getting you ready for all of that in fact if you check out kroger.com Easter you’ll learn all the information that you need about how to make this Easter great and how to use Kroger to

Helping that make be the case whether it be the decoration you need or like the big you know centerpiece as a ham whatever you’re kind of cooking for Easter or you want the eggs and the dye and all that kind of stuff everything you need to make this Easter great for

You and your family and those that you love all right there for you at your local Kroger so please make sure check it out kroger.com Easter for more on that that is kroger.com Easter for more on that we’ve got Jeff santel here coming up in a moment massively busy recruiting weekend

For Georgia some visitors have already been on campus this weekend including the five star Julian Lewis others on their way here including a long long list there on on Saturday so so much to do with Jeff’s inel about all of that we will get to that coming up in just a

Couple of minutes time prior to that though we going to go around the dogghouse poured today by the finished long drink and I want to go back to Connor Riley practice report very very robust coverage of Georgia from Spring practice from Connor yesterday we just

Gave you a note off the top Trevor ATN going through drills first we say listen it seems to match pretty well with some of the other stuff we’re hearing about ATN right now so so far so good but additional information from Connor that I also think is worth

Highlighting this kind of relates to a guy we’ve talked about a lot over the course of the last few days we are fascinated by Mel Williams and the the the new role he could possibly have on this Georgia team as an outside linebacker well Connor based on his eyewitness account yesterday has a

Little bit more detail about how that looks Mel perhaps little less defensive end little more outside linebacker let me read this to you from Riley dognation decom that Mel Williams was bouncing between outside linebacker and defensive line he said as much during his interview on Tuesday but he was also

Joined by another member of the team five-star freshman Joseph Jonah aan who was also following Williams from drill to drill Jonah a size really stands out for someone who’s just 17 years old so let’s do this if we had more time I’d probably spend more time on this let’s

Put a pin in the Joseph Jonah aan part of this for a moment moment because the fact that Jonah J is also doing this cross training right now too that is also I think interesting enough to make that a standalone topic perhaps on a different day let’s focus in on the Mel

Williams part of this here right now so it’s interesting that de Conor’s telling of it there’s some drill work being done at defensive end and some drill work being done at outside linebacker now listen I’m not a you know a menum member I’m not a genius what that tells me is

Okay well perhaps then K Williams not playing exclusively at the outside linebacker position then this is a guy that’s still going to have some role for Georgia there at the defensive end and by the way keep in mind you know you’ve got Gabe Harris potentially emerging there you’ve got Tyrion Ingram Dawkins

Trying to fight his way back from injury as we said before you know perhaps there’s that chance that Joseph Jonah Jan also finds some playing time for Georgia at that defensive end spot but for now that’s at least influx enough that the experience that Williams still has at defensive end sounds like that

Makes him pretty valuable in that spot for Georgia overall but I think you know based on the way that we’ve spoken about this in the past that the highest and best use we think for Williams if he’s certainly capable of doing this is at that outside linebacker position in sort

Of the edge Rush pass rusher type mold that really unearthing a level of statistical production from Williams that I think just makes the Georgia defense better overall so it is our hope that we see Williams a lot at outside linebacker a lot of the sort of edge Ed

Rush position because we think that’s the place that he can be most statistically productive now overall Georgia has not really been a defense that necessarily about statistical production for individual players the very best version of Georgia the defense in 2021 was a defense in which even the number one overall pick

Trayvon Walker didn’t have eye popping stats and that was a great kind of team chemistry concept it’s one of the reasons if you’ll remember back in those days we tied Jordan Davis the highman trophy JD to NYC part of the reason why we did that was is because Davis a

Perfect example of someone who’d win like the bedic war and the Outland trophy yet was also content not to have a whole lot of stats that that the team concept where the individual star doesn’t necessarily get the eye popping statline that’s worked really well for George in the past however honesty

Compels me to admit this past year I don’t know that worked out quite as well because this past year it wasn’t just individual Superstar players sort of foregoing their stats this was an overall statistical performance for a Georgia defense was actually regressing in some important statistical categories they weren’t sacking the quarterback the

Way they did in 2021 and they were giving up more rushing yards on a per playay basis than we’d probably ever seen Georgia give up and so unleashing highlevel talent to be productive players at this level of the sport it seems like that maybe what Georgia needs

To do here in 2024 just on the base of the fact this is a Georgia defense this upcoming season especially on the front seven that needs to play better than it did a season ago so specifically what does that mean then for Mel Williams still apparently playing some defensive

End while we would say editorializing here hopefully playing a lot more outside linebacker well when Mel met with reporters the other day he sort of went into a little bit of a description descriptive mode of what his preference is but also kind of how we could see him

Utilized on the field here this spring this is what Mel will kind of a compilation of a few things that he said about that going back to earlier this week take a look I kind of envisioned it looking something similar to the Florida State game where I was playing a little

Bit more outside linebacker there uh it’s something that that’s in the making I kind of like outside linebacker because it shows my versatility like if you if you play attention to our game sometimes I even Rush the guard at three Tech from me being from me being able to

Move from a three all way out to a nine Tech that just shows my vers my versatility and how can it display until the next level it’s more like I’m just going to be standing up more really there there’s not many difference I may drop a little bit more but I’m really

Just going to be standing up more so you kind of Wonder you know how much of this is being done because this is what Williams wants to do and how much of this is being done because this is what Georgia thinks is best for him overall I certainly hope it’s the latter here

Because I I do think that for as successful as the story was in 2021 great players like Trayvon Walker Jordan Davis Devonte Wyatt you know uh no one Smith Nico Dean sacrificing their individual glory for team success as great as that story was I do think in

Just sort of a practical reality Georgia moving forward is going to be judged a little bit more about what it gets out of the kinds of individual talents who could become first round picks especially since a guy like Marvin Jones Jr will now be playing at Florida State

Florida State took Germaine Johnson in the past and turned him into at least uh statistically speaking a much more productive player there than he had been here now that didn’t bother Georgia fans because Georgia was dominating defensively That season but if they do that again with Marvin Jones Jr that

Will open some eyes at least in some respect which I think puts a little bit of a responsibility on Georgia to make sure it’s getting the most out of talents like Mel we think the way to get the most is to have him standing up in an edge rusher Edge rusher situation so

We can get after the quarterback it sounds like that’s what George is going to allow him to do when we can’t wait to see the the results that uh decision produces and that is around the dogghouse here today on dog Nation daily poured by the Finish long drink now

We’re rolling towards a weekend and so many of you love that weekend time and of course nothing goes better with your weekend inside outside whatever else the other day talking about drinking some finished long drink in the garage some of yall laughed at me that’s a thing

People do that when it’s raining you sit in the garage you enjoy some time within you listen to some music um the acoustic quality of listening to some music there in the garage always a great thing to be able to do either way uh weather may be nice enough this weekend that you’re

Outside on the back porch the patio the front porch um probably not pool quite yet but listen depending on where you live maybe that’s the case too either way finish long drink a great way to enjoy the weekend that’s on the way so let me invite you go to the website the

We’re a couple of minutes away still from jeffon tell Jeff asking us for a couple of more minutes here so here’s what we’re going to do we’re going to kind of break out of our sort of typical format we’ll give him a chance to get

Loaded in here and I will tell you that one of the things that we’ll get into a little bit later on is what seems to be some growing momentum to have an announcement very soon about the 14 team playoff we haven’t had a 12 team playoff

Yet but it seems like we’re very close perhaps at least based on some reporting that’s out there uh expanding to a 14 team playoff so I’ve got some thoughts on this and I think one of the things I have to say about this is going to probably be

Unpopular and I don’t mean to be like intentionally provocative that’s what I’m trying to do but I do think that there’s probably an honest conversation that needs to be had about some of this and so we’ll get to that here coming up in just a few minutes I also while we

Are waiting for Jeff Cel to be here I’ll bring in a couple of your comments here we’ll be sort of laid-back in casual on a Friday Jeff much like the Ghost of Christmas present sort of comes in his own good time uh more material so we’ll

Let him we’ll let him get here in a minute uh DT on the subject one of the names that we mentioned this is at dog nation.com uh Joseph Jonah J yeah this is one of those deals where you know uh trying to keep a certain Pace going with

The show these days so um if we had more time probably would have sort of sunk our teeth into the Joseph Jonah part of this I think we’ll do that probably next week you know when you talk about the Freshman that could play that could you know make an immediate impact on Georgia

I would say rightly so some of that ends up centering around young Talent match with position of need young Talent match with spot where depth perhaps is at least somewhat questionable and that sort of stands to reason but there’s also such a thing as young Talent that’s potentially so impressive that you sort

Of Leap Frog over somebody else and the in the battle for playing time as Kirby Smart has said before if you’re good enough you’re old enough and as Conor Ry wrote yesterday Joseph Jon a still only 17 years old incredibly young uh sometimes that’s what happens uh when you

Um used to graduate high school early but already incred incredibly physically developed for someone who’s just 17 years old and so that’s a guy that even though Georgia seemingly has got a lot of candidates to either be at defensive end or you know I know he’s done some

Work as we talked about an outside linebacker it seems like George got a lot of candidates who a little bit more experienced little bit older and perhaps athletically very impressive in their own right you know Joseph Jonah J could be one of those young guys who you just

Can’t fully keep off the field because of how potential potentially talented he is and I would say the same thing maybe about his high school teammate Justin Williams different position that’s inside linebacker once again that’s situation when georg’s fully healthy there you know how deep that position is

So deep and it’s not meant be disrespectful but George is potentially so deep at inside linebacker that a guy like jaman d Johnson who at times had played at basically an all SEC level for Georgia he leaves I think the expectation for uh you know for Georgia

Here is is that the position overall won’t skip a beat and so um that’s how deep potentially Georgia is at the inside linebacker spot and yet Justin Williams Also may just prove to be talented enough that in some form or fashion you’re not going to be able to

Completely uh keep him off the uh off the field so uh we’ll watch that and see how it goes as said before after we get ja we’ll be with us in a couple of minutes we’re going to do our SEC through we’re going to get into the the

Potential as we’re cruising around the secc courtesy of Royal Caribbean we’ll get into the potential of the playoff announcing a 14 team basically adding two teams in a playoff expansion before they get to 12 PDT says why is there such a big difference between the 12 and the 14 I don’t know that

There’s I don’t know that there’s all that big a difference in terms of the the sort of the varying degrees of the number and I am not necessarily against a 14 team playoff um I could stand to see the playoff expand all the way up to 16 I think the bigger playoff is

Somewhat better I wouldn’t want to expand to 32 but I do think a bigger playoff is somewhat better I think the 14 playoff has proven to be problematic because the the the people selecting the teams the powers that be within the college ball playoff selection committee they make the wrong picks

They’re not good at picking the teams and therefore for the most part in the 10year history history of the four team College playoff we typically speaking get stuck with bad National semi-final games just simply because the people who pick the teams to play the games are not

Very good at doing so so I’m not necessarily against the expansion from 12 to 14 the criticism that seems to exist out there about this py is mostly related to the fact that the SEC and the Big 10 are going to kind of carve out their own special exception at one point

In time they’re talking about getting a a buy for their conference Champion to the next round of the playoff it seems like now that’s not going to happen but they are going to get more Revenue than the than the Big 12 in the ACC that the that the new format clearly reflecting

The imbalance that exists between the top leagues in college football and the other leagues in college football and to the people who are kind of somewhat critical of the of the expansion to the 14 teams what they fear is and I don’t think this is an unreasonable concern I

Don’t know that I completely share it but what they fear is is that it’s going to further reduce the value of the regular season that uh that’s what that’s going to you know create some concern around further reducing the value of the regular season that’s why they are concerned about that all right

Let me go to YouTube here for a moment and if you’re just joining us we’re going to get Jeff Cel here in a second uh Jeff going to be ready to go while we’re waiting on him taking some time to take some comments and just kind of be

Casual here on a Friday Lance D says the expanded playoff is not not better you think Clemson would have done anything in an expanded playoff last year Texas Tech USC maybe that’s the case but I also think that the goal of any playoff should be how do you make better games overall

And I do believe an expanded playoff putting more at large teams in not rewarding most deserving because it’s the most deserving teams who typically kind of get kicked around there a little bit but making some room for the for the just the overall best and a lot of times

That’d be an SEC team it would have been George in a year like this I think putting teams like that into the playoff gives you a chance to have a better collection of semi-final games and ultimately a sort of a more deserving National Champion so that’s my reason

For feeling the way that I do but we’ll do more on this here in a moment including an even bigger part of the 14 team discussion that I think has to happen if you’re an SEC fan we’ll get to all that here coming up in just a little

Bit for now though a lot happening in Georgia recruiting a lot of this related to visi visors on campus here this weekend let’s cover all of that ground and more as welcoming Jeff Cel here today on dog Nation daily presented by Kroger from aens and across the SEC or

Wherever the recruiting Trail may lead here’s a dog.com Insider huge list of visitors for Georgia here this weekend some of them already been in so we’ll cover a lot of that ground with Jeff Cel right now here on dog na daily presented by Kroger I guess Jeff let me start with

Sort of perhaps maybe the biggest name of all Julian Juju Lewis back on the Georgia campus again second time in a month he’s been here at Georgia he shared a funny uh not just funny but also kind of fun picture of himself the other day very young when he was also uh

There at Georgia there as well so uh I guess what’s the latest on this and another chance for Georgia to impress Lewis in the midst of a little bit of a barnstorming tour where over the course of the next few weeks Lewis is going to see a lot of spots including eventually

Working his way back the school that technically he’s still committed to in USC so what is the latest on juli and guju Lewis here uh hey good morning everybody good morning Brandon I wonder what you thought of that picture do you think that your internal CSI recruiting guy

Computer do you think it was telling you okay feeling nostalgic about coming to Athens thinking about the early days and how he’s always been coming to Georgia um I thought that was interesting for him to go with that sort of picture right there because you know sometimes

The messaging here sometimes says a lot yeah I think that’s right I mean listen I think that even for a young guy like this I think there is always going to be a sort of a sort of a tendency to want to look back and sort of remember kind

Of how it all started you know I feel like all of our Lives go by pretty fast and you think if you’re a young person You’ perhaps be prone not to feel that way quite as much but my gosh you think about what an accelerated football

Career that lwis has already had to the extent that he’s even decided to shorten his high school career going from being you know a little boy just sort of learning how to pick up a football how to hold it and how to throw it then all

Of a sudden now you’re thinking about a recruiting process perhaps about to come to an end in a college career beginning you know my guess is a guy like that does sort of take some time to think about where it all started and I guess this is an example of the fact that

Georgia can at least have the cache of saying you know we were kind of there for you when it did all begin and perhaps try to cultivate that emotional connection can’t hurt I wouldn’t think anyway yeah that’s the word Bren I like the way that I thought of it was there’s

Been an emotional connection as he’s grown uh as a quarterback prospect some of the timestamps have been going to Athens I mean he visited Georgia a bunch of times he visited a couple times for games last year and he didn’t visit USC at all now of course he’s going to go

Visit uh USC with I think what you referred to as a barnstorming tour of places but Brendon can you allow me to get real for a second on all this I I know this is parliamentary procedure it feels like we have to outline a lot of

Things but I think you’re going to reach a a a I guess I would say a crisis point or a Breaking Point with the Julian Lewis stuff and the Matt Zer stuff I think that’s going to come in about a month uh maybe even less than that and

What you’re gonna what you’re going to have to figure out is you’re going to decide so zers is GNA man I don’t know if you’ve seen any of his highlights Brandon I don’t know if you’re that type of dedicated uh reporter as I am but like Zar is a pretty good basketball

Player I mean really good basketball player in Pennsylvania I mean he’s shooting threes he’s shooting daggers he’s seeing the floor really well like kind of like a an old school Matt harping with some range and a little bit more movement I mean he can he can play

Basketball and you always like to see that quarterback prospect type be able to make it make it do what it do on the hardwood but zers is going to finish his basketball season and then he’s going to take about four visits in about 12 days and then after that he might he might

Need a week process and then he’s like all right this is my school I’m committing and at that point when I when I kind of phrase it like a Breaking Point is it’s going to be if it is Georgia you know there’s Penn State there’s Missouri there’s pit as well if

He if he does feel after that visit that it’s Georgia then Georgia’s going to have a I guess a first world recruiting World type problem decision they’re going to sit there and say we’re going to we’re going to take the Z’s commitment we’re going to be happy with

That and we’re going to roll or they’re going to say there and have like a check with me situation where they’re like hey this is where we’re at with Juju this is where we’re at with Julian Lewis and if they’re going to say Julian they can’t really apply pressure in a recruitment

Like this but they can simply say they got a Kirby Smart and this is what Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo make the big bucks to do is they got to sit there and say do we wait and if Julian is not ready if there’s a potential for him where he

Wants to flip from uh USC to Georgia then that becomes a time where you have to make the decision on zers uh and not risk losing zers in order to kind of continue and wait on Julia now contrarians might say hey you just wait on Julian Georgia wants to win national

Championships Georgia recruits at the highest level so they’re going to go let’s get the best quarterback and if not if Julian Lewis doesn’t work out then perhaps you know Georgia gets into the portal years down the road with what they’re trying to do for their room but

What you do here Brandon and this is the tea leaves portion of our segment is there’s some indications that Julian is at least considering it uh the flip to Georgia he’s talking to Georgia commitments he’s talking to wide receiver targets across the country where they’re trying on the shoe I guess

They’re trying the test drive out about everybody playing together and that’s something that I think significant of course he had a great visit uh to C Georgia practice yesterday because Georgia was getting after it you heard about how Mike Bobo was really really chippy Co was really chippy really

Coaching the guys hard getting them ready uh coach uh coach smart obviously had some Ivory soap moments while he was over the microphone as well so I don’t expect any visit to Georgia especially with a recruit like Julian to go bad but the culture was really important with

What he needed to see so let me answer this question one of two ways uh on the one hand you know Georgia has a pretty sensible quarterback pecking order right now you know you got Beck the entran starter waiting the wings a guy like gunar Stockton who’s a little younger

Than Beck but a little old older than Ryan pesi who’s kind of the I would say the Clear number three here right now because of the sensible nature of that pecking order being a little bit more aggressive and waiting for Lewis if you view him to be the better Prospect the

Industry certainly does um waiting for Lewis at the expense of potentially losing zers I’d say that makes some sense based on the fact that Georgia’s got a little bit of an established pecking order in place now the other side of that is as I’ve told you before

If we assume that Georgia’s got a finite amount of nil dollars make this very clear I’d spend my money on the types of guys are going to be at Georgia I think tomorrow you know talk about the David Sanders or you know the defense linean we’ve discussed before if it’s a finite

Amount of money I want to over spend on offensive and defensive linemen right now and then take the quarterback I can get because if you don’t if if you’re not making uh Julian Lewis your nil priority you’re probably not getting him I think I’d be comfortable not making

Him my nil priority if we assume that there’s a finite amount of money that can be spent here and that means maybe you do get more of a quarterback you know like uh Zer so to me there’s a couple of ways to go here on this if nil

Doesn’t exist then waiting out Lewis and seeing what he wants to do probably makes some sense if nil does exist and obviously it does than thinking about how you budget the funds you have available and I just think that Georgia’s got a greater need with the impact defensive lineman certainly and

Perhaps making sure the next generation of great offensive linemen is also coming to this program I’ve said before if I was the general manager those would be my priorities yeah yeah Brandon that was kind of where I was going I was trying to tee you up for a thought bubble that

You kind of already explored like you know sometimes with our computers we have to fix some things and you get there’s this button that says make me an administrator for like 30 minutes that was what I was going to do with you and I was going to say I wanted to I wanted

To make you Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo for 30 minutes with this decision because I I know I use the word breaking point but I think it’s really going to be a Crossroads where you sit there and go and and you’re smart to include nil

Into all that where you go all right do we want to play the Julian Lewis sweep Stakes long game whatever you want to say we can act like a literary person and say you want to play the you want to play the poker game do you want to go

All in I think all those are terms that could apply to the situation or do you want to sit there and go we can win a National Championship with Matt zers and then couple more five-star defensive linemen that’s the decision Kirby Smart and Georgia are going to have to make I

Feel like that’s my opinion as this Julian Lewis thing gets going I think zers might be a guy that would be ready before Julian Lewis and then that might cause some Intrigue in what’s going on let me tell you a side road about that because everybody says you know Kirby

Smart and that staff in Athens play underwater 4D chess when it comes to recruiting and just looking around the landscape uh we’ve already well do do umented on this show Brandon that on your show Brandon that Georgia has a chance to get the number one and number

Two defensive lineman in the country and I think those two eventual battles will become Wars even if Georgia’s got one guy committed and another guy trending to Georgia with all the with what everybody’s coming at you with the online chatter this is just looking across the landscape Brandon there’s a lot of years

And I want to try try to play a mental quiz with you there’s a lot of years when if I asked you and I know you don’t you’re not every day on recruiting but you have a great expanded knowledge of it because it’s something you’re interested in yeah but this is one of

Those years where if I bet if you take a non recruiting reporter but a pretty dialed in Georgia fan and I had to say tell me the top five defensive linemen in the country it would be a hard time for a lot of folks to get past one and

Two Justice Terry and Elijah Griffith and I say that to say say this is because this is kind of a lean year for defensive line Pro ects there’s not a lot of outright grown men dude prospects at defensive line so the ones that are of that caliber are going to be chased

Because the really smart football coaches and collectives they know that that’s how you win football games and you’re right to make that point about focusing on the line of scrimmage I think that’s been our that’s been our talking point for a long time here about you know where you need to allocate nil

Funding in the years going forward so with everything that’s going on with Julian and nil priorities I think the lines of scrimmage are going to be even more important in this class and this in this recruiting cycle and that’s why I think there’s other things for Georgia

To think about than hey can we make things work with what Julian’s looking for with this college opportunity it’s going to be how does it impact different areas on the field where my belief here Brandon and I’ll kind of stand on it is that the really impactful players in

This class that’s going to make a difference in championships and winning playoff game number two three four five is getting those difference makers on the offensive and defensive line yeah and speaking of that you know some of those guys expected to be you know on campus I believe tomorrow georg’s

Obviously hosting a lot of guys over the course of a about a 4- day period here but major names I think tomorrow so give us a little bit of a snapshot Beyond Lewis kind of who’s in and who’s around town and kind of what Georgia has a

Chance to do in terms of impressing some of these guys like we’re talking about yeah there’s a lot of visits that are kind of slipping in there like a of lot of people I saw a lot of folks had reported that Patti was supposed to be there yesterday well Patti actually came

Up there uh the very first day he was there with Travis Smith Jr and it’s very intriguing to see a guy that everybody wonders about with jadden perotti out of Buford and to see him uh up in Adam and watching practice plugged into Georgia on day one of uh spring practice in

Athens uh you’ve got the huge name this weekend Brandon is David Sanders Jr uh man that’s just going to be a war we’ve talked about this before we we we devoted a a lead segment on before the hedges to it about a week ago where Georgia and Clemson uh David Sanders saw

Saw Clemson first over the past weekend and now he’s going to go see Georgia and David actually told me Brandon that he feels this visit to Georgia this weekend where he sees spring practice and he watches uh coach siros coach his dogs and how the dogs respond to coach siros

And just really really Wades into the Waters of a Georgia practice to see if that’s for him if that’s what he needs if if that’s a good fit he told me that he thought that was going to be more important to him with sizing up Georgia a Georgia program that’s already checked

Every box for him uh to see how big of a fit that is that’s a more important visit this weekend for David Sanders Jr and his family than the official that’s going to come uh the summer fascinating to consider all of that and of course

Sanders has a chance to be a part of a 2025 recr in class for Georgia that seems to really be growing its chemistry together right now I thought you had a little bit of a fun exchange of the day you wrote a story about Ethan Barbor

Kind of how he’s impacted that how other guys have kind of impacted that here right now and um it takes us back to the class of 2017 when seems like that kind of stuff was becoming in fashion at least for me among the uh sort of first

Times I remember that kind of being a thing and obviously Richard L was a big part of that the great catchphrase back then was we’re not done yet Georgia always adding more players to that class and I love the change I think we can show this to people when you wrote the

Story about you know the the the sort of commit to the G Challenge and the work to get you know more you know Bo Walker and and uh Ethan Barbour sort of working on that getting more guys into the class uh Richard lount retweeting that we

Ain’t done yet taking it back to that great line from way back in the class of 2017 we talked earlier about being sentimental or or or nostalgic boy what a great blast in the past that is and how much fun is it after all of these

Years a great former dog dgd in the trest sense Richard Lon still wants to play along with all that and still has fond memories of that period there as well for me that was a very gratifying thing to say yeah for me it was really cool Richie is I’ve always considered

Him a pretty good friend and a good guy to work with and you know he’s still working in the NFL but it I I like I’ve reached the point on this beat where I’m like okay I haven’t seen this before and it’s almost like Everest at this point

Where there are very few Peaks now you can sit there and say okay this is a box we haven’t seen before this is something we haven’t checked with following Georgia football recruiting and like Bo Walker and uh Ethan Barbor have entered into a competition to see how many guys

Can get they can get committed to the G and I asked Ethan he’s like and Ethan kind of was very Koy he’s like he’s got some in his back pocket and he started rolling off quarterback he started rolling off two receivers he started rolling off a defensive lineman a

Linebacker some safeties and so he’s got a shopping list now we don’t expect him to dis close his grocery list but um if you’re looking for remakes or remixes of the 2017 recruiting class well it it appears Bo Walker and Ethan Barbor are gonna gonna be the Huckleberry about

That they’re going to go forward and they’re gonna try to we might even have fun with it on Hedges Brandon we might put together a graphic that’s got a scoreboard between both of them that say that was a barbar commit and then that one was a Bo Walker commit like a walker

Dog or a Barb dog or something like that to to have fun with it over the course of this cycle because here’s what’s R rare Brandon and it’s a culture it’s a it’s kind of it’s kind of a consequence of a lot of things but it’s rare right

Now to see Georg at number 10 in the country in recruiting yeah and they’ve only got five guys committed but folks that is going to change I do believe Ethan Barbor has a couple in his back pocket he did not wish to disclose and it’ll be fun to watch the class build I

You know one of the stories uh that really hit home a little bit it was sad when I learned about what was going on with Pier spling in his career well that kind of opens the door now does Georgia take another tight end in this class did

They go get three uh did they get another guy out of the portal kind of like they got with Benjamin URC uh because you looking at georg’s you know tight end projections going forward you have you know you have Lucky in in the 20203 class and then you have Jaden Rell

And Colton Heinrich in 2024 you’ve got Elias Williams and uh Barbor in the class of 2025 so Elias is going to be a chore for Georgia to hold on to there with uh Miami and Florida State looming as well so I think it’s interesting what’s happening right now is things are

Going to build everything’s going to get a little bit more excited it was really cool this week to see a guy like Eugene Hilton Jr come in and that’s a guy that Georgia just jumped in with Once James Coley got hired and uh he’s an NFL

Legacy you don’t see that a lot and you know more guys coming through I think CJ Wy was a big visitor uh to Georgia as well uh he’s one of those guys that Barbor has told me he’s prioritized along with Travis Smith Jr to hear Travis Smith Jor say that nobody in the

Country wants him more than Georgia that’s very encouraging for I I think I think Georgia’s really got a strong hold on Travis Smith’s family and his his attention right now and it has to be we’ve been able to verify that the the the chemistry there that existed with

BAC uh has been able to be replicated with what James Co has shown him so far in Athens uh Travis Smith told me he didn’t want to leave he was in Athens till like 10 p.m. so it sounds like you and your kids on a game day man you guys

Do not want to cross the Clark County Clark County Line heading back up north but or heading back up back West but uh that’s going good you want to see how Georgia can fill those receivers with them possibly losing up to four five six guys off this 2024 team but I think

Everybody’s kind of going to be watching uh the David Sanders visit this weekend for sure Jeff really good stuff thanks for your time on dog Nation presented by Kroger and of course a lot of really fun updates coming here at dog nation.com as we find out what’s next this class of

2025 and the slow build turns into kind of a frantic Pace as spring eventually turns into summer so Jeff thanks for your time we’ll look forward to talking to you soon hey Brandon they’re not going to stay at number 10 and five commitments long you can rest assured on that that is indeed

True let’s take a look around the rest of the League this is sec3 I also had a fun conversation with Jeff a little bit yesterday off the air about our upcoming dog Nation cruise and you know Jeff is getting his uh tickets book for like Hideway Beach right there at Perfect Day

Coco K also there’s there’s the Coco uh Beach Club right there at CoCo Perfect Day Coco K there as well and these are sort of experiences that you can have while you’re on the island there the Private Island exclusive for those on a Royal Caribbean cruise vacation it was

Just kind of fun talking about that kind of stuff with Jeff and he’s you know watching all that you know getting some shows booked and some things like that so talking to Jeff about all that gets me excited about our upcoming dog Nation Cruise you already know where Cru run

The SEC now courtesy of Royal Caribbean and that means the lure of the sea is coming up for us in April I wish you could all be on board I really do if I had my power to sort of put all of you on board that ship uh that is indeed

What I would want to do but since we you know can’t all do that uh you certainly uh can have your own Royal Caribbean cruise vacation experience at some point in time in the very near future and listen there are a lot of really fun new things happening for Royal cribbon in

2024 I mentioned that when it comes to Perfect Day Coco the debut of Hideaway Beach it’s happened I was among the first to get a chance to be a part of Hideaway Beach there uh at at Perfect Day Coco K it’s to me all I mean you

Know it’s the name but for me it’s truth and advertising Perfect Day Coco K is just about a perfect day for me there’s nothing I love more than being on that island and having that great experience there and Hideaway Beach has somehow made it even better so if you can’t be

On a lure of the seeds with us in April perhaps you can be on icon of the Seas uh you can sail uh out of the Port of Miami and be a part of the largest cruise ship ever constructed I got to tell you I think it’s completely redefined the cruise vacation experience

And I think you have a chance to be a part of that you also have Utopia of the sea going to debut in July another brand new ship this from The Oasis class of ships uh what a great time to be taking a Royal Caribbean cruise Vacation

Give her call 77078 9147 that’s 770 718 9147 all right as we Cruis run the SEC courtesy of Royal cariban today it certainly seems like in the very near future we could hear confirmation that for 2026 college football is officially moving to a 14 team playoff now the

Original idea of the SEC and the Big 10 getting a buy for their conference Champion beyond the first round of the playoff seems like that’s dead it seems like it’s not going to happen but what is going to happen by the reporting that’s out there right now is the SEC

And the Big 10 will get a larger share of the playoff Revenue than the ACC which will get more than the Big 12 the Big 12 which will get more than the other leagues and then The Independents will sort of you know share whatever’s left over Notre Dame obviously being you

Know kind of a part of that and a lot of people are sort of asking a fair question here right now hey there’s some concern about does the 14 team playoff further water down the regular season for me that’s not as big a concern as it

Is for some although I do take it seriously those who are concerned about that others are asking well how come the SEC and the Big 10 are being treated the same the SEC has won the Lion Share of the national championships the Big 10 has very little in the way of success

Against the SEC although admittedly Michigan did beat Alabama this past season the college football playoff how come the SEC the big 10 then get to share sort of an equal you know part of the revenue and why is it that the Big 10 is essentially viewed as an equal

League to the SEC and this is where I have to be very honest about a couple of things first of all I’ll say this but you kind of already know it I a total and unabashed SEC Homer I want the best for the SEC I believe the

SEC is the best league in college athletics I think the future of College athletics is better if the SEC is at the Forefront lead the way here my bias on all this is you could tattoo it on my forehead if you wanted to I Am pro sec I

Want the best for the SEC I believe the SEC represents the best of what college football is and what it could be so totally un you I’m I’m totally biased here I am not an objective Observer when it comes to stuff like this however even within the kind of confines of SEC Homer

Wanting to wave the SEC flag here I have to confess something and this is not going to be popular everybody and I’m not saying to like troll or you know uh this is what is engagement farming this is not this is not any of that I got to

Tell you as an SCC Homer who believes the SEC is the best and wants the best for the SEC I think that Greg sank is getting outplayed here I think he’s getting out maneuvered I believe he’s getting out foxed you ever play the the the board game Risk I’m not I’m not very

Good at risk all the time because I’m not always the best strategic thinker but I do think that risk is a really fun game I like to play this with my kids and if you think about the college football college athletics landscape as a game of Risk I just think that Greg

Sanki is losing that game here right now and if you ask the question well how come a league like the big 10 which on the field has been so inferior to the SEC how come now it’s essentially being treated as an equal to the SEC I think

The only explanation for that is in the recent moves the SEC has made somehow they’ve just sort of gotten outflanked and they’ve gotten outplayed I mean think about this when it was announced that Texas and Oklahoma were coming to the SEC like like the day before before

You even knew that was a thing because when it happened it was a total surprise the day before we heard that what would that have been summer of 2021 the day before we heard that think about the Gap that you perceived the SEC to have with the big

10 and perhaps in your own mind you still perceived that Gap obviously I do there as well but think about the Gap that we would have perceived the SEC have with the big 10 and yet after adding Texas and ok Oklahoma after adding the two biggest programs of the

Big 12 we’re now led to believe that by adding those two programs the secc has only worked their way to being equal to the Big 10 how do that happen and I I just think that in the aggression to add Texas and Oklahoma ultimately what Greg

Zanki has done is set off a chain reaction of events that have produced some unintended consequen that have actually worked to weaken the position of the SEC and know most of us don’t want the SEC to be a national league the way that the Big 10 is stretching from Piscataway New Jersey

All the way to Los Angeles and Eugene Oregon and Seattle Washington that’s not what we want but in creating the opportunity for the Big 10 to be more aggressive with its own expansion it’s set off a series of events that has actually weakened the position of the

SEC overall I don’t know how You could argue anything other than that based on the facts of the ground and the other point I want to make about this is is this is not just sort of a theoretical conversation this isn’t just sort of a you know bragging rights among fans type

Discussion here there are some real consequences to who gets to be the leader of College athletics going forward because for everything you want to hear about you know the fight over money and it’s all about money I think for the most part the fight that you see

About money is actually a facade that covers the real fight in a world in which we all believe the NCAA is about to dissolve the NCAA is about to have a greatly diminished and reduced role in what the future of College athletics is that means there’s going to be a power

Vacuum and there’s going to be some power up for grabs and while we see on the outside everybody seemingly fighting over money and who gets the most and what percentage what share of the pie the real fight behind the scenes that’s a lot more concealed is actually about power and if the SEC

Concedes its status as the unquestioned best conference and now plays as an equal to the Big 10 that has some real world consequences for College athletics in 2020 if the Big 10 had gotten its way there would have been no football the Big 10 was led by a

Commissioner in Kevin Warren who had so little regard for College athletics that he left he’s now the president of Chicago Bears he kind of completely changed College athletics Forever by bringing in USC and UCL dissolving the Pack 12 in the process and after doing that Shrugged his

Shoulders and left and he’ll never look back my guess is he’ll never work in college athletics again that’s the sort of temporal thinking that seems to be governing the Big 10 right now and that’s not what you want the future of College athletics to be so this is about

Being more than just an SEC Homer we need the SEC to win to preserve what college athletics has been but right now I don’t believe they are in the battle for who gets to have the control who gets to have the power the SEC has gone from being the best conference now

Somehow being equal to the Big 10 without the Big 10 having a whole lot in the way of onfield success and the rise of the Big 10 at the expense of the SEC I believe is bad for College athletics overall and we will make that cruising around the SEC courtesy of Royal

Caribbean now couple of other thoughts here real quick first of all tough night last night for Georgia basketball had its chances against Florida admittedly this was a very late game for me tipping off I did not see much of the second half of this game but I did wake up to a

Bar of exp posts about what could have been and what might have been uh unfortunately this would have been in some respects sort of a season defining game for George I think in an otherwise sort of Lost season if white could have beaten his old school his old team

Obviously that didn’t happen and just to be honest with you here uh Georgia just needs to be better I mean you know you look at what South Carolina’s done this year picked last in the league and yet going to make the NCAA tournament you know there is no such thing as building

For the future in college basketball you’re either good or you’re not and next year Georgia just needs to be much better than it is right now perhaps the arrival of Ace and new makes that possibility I honestly don’t know but this was not good enough here this year

And I don’t really you know fully know why um you know they probably went off our radar a little bit once they kind of went on a prong losing streak but college basketball is fun it’d be nice to have Georgia a part of it and for all intents and purposes Georgia essentially

Isn’t so uh need to be better next year we’ll see if that’s the case much brighter Outlook right now though it appears for the diamond dogss after a very successful pre conference season uh really the only issue they’ve had at all is sort of a weird game against Michigan State and Georgia Tech

Tried to steal a win from him on that Friday night because of some alleged weather but nonetheless it’s been about perfect start to the Diamond dog season and now in lexingon Kentucky this weekend for the start of SEC play we certainly wish the Diamond Dogs well as

They do all of that so big shout out here as uh they get ready to start their SEC slate for the 2024 season with that we’ll say goodbye to you here on a Friday couple of golden shoes to give out today uh first of all um let’s throw

This one up on the screen here for you step Wayne right so kind some of you do this and I tell you you’ll never know how much it means to me I’m so appreciative of this Stephen sharing on X the other day the best podcast for your Georgia football content brought to

You by Brandon Adams uh so sharing our show those of you who do that who bring more people in you know we’ve been doing this now for kind of a long time all the way back since 2015 and yet new people coming in on a regular basis and try our

Show for the very first time and we need that it’s our lifeblood it’s how I feed my family it’s how I take care of my kids and my wife and so I really am dependent upon you to sort of spread the good news if you will and tell folks

That we’re out here doing this and Stephen thank you so much for doing that really you’ve given me the greatest gift you could possibly ever do that by sharing the show with people that you know I appreciate that another Golden Shoe going the way of George on tap once

Again talk about you know more than I deserve here incredibly blessed Steven Wayne sharing the show George untap also shouting out a dog Nation sponsor saying on X brothers and sisters if you work the Kroger boo program it pays off and it shows him enjoying twice the fuel

Points there as a member of Kroger boost George on tap I tell you what what a great sponsor read that is from you uh really appreciate that we’ll give you a well-earned golden shoe for that there as well truly truly appreciative of that and to all of you who are part of our

Show in some form or fashion thank you so much lousy stinking Gators they may have gotten a basketball win against Georgia and if you get about 50 of those that might be equal to what maybe having a halftime lead against Georgia and football uh that’s about the uh sliding

Scale we work from there but either way it’s been 1224 days since Florida’s beaten Georgian football that’s the number that matters and that is a number that’s going to keep on climbing youall have a great weekend you’ve earned it you deserve it you’ve worked hard all

Week long and now enjoy a couple of days but make sure you’re back here with us on Monday dog Nation daily presented by Kroger we’ll look forward to talking to you then and on video time now for the RS Andrew cool down RS Andrew one you turn to for

Your air conditioning heating Plumbing electric needs I’m all tangled up in cords let me pull out on all of that uh all right let’s uh get some comments here and see what’s on your mind here today uh Denise Loper says those Diamond Dogs looking good totally agree with

That Ryan Walker also exciting about that there as well saying College World Series on Deck boy I’d love that how much fun would it be to be there in Omaha what a great time that would be Pete Williams says I just don’t think the basketball team has The Talented

Players to be good not yet anyways yeah and look you know in Old School sort of College athletics thinking you’re like well this guy’s a freshman be a sophomore next year perhaps he’ll be better you bring in this guy and just seems like there’s so much change over

Year-to year in college basketball right now and frankly unpredictable performances like I saw where um somebody saw the other day about the amount of money that like say Louisville has spent on its uh basketball team this year from an nil standpoint it’s obviously not very good so you have

These surprising moment moment but in teams that are perhaps supposed to be good aren’t you have the situation like I mentioned at South Carolina teams that should shouldn’t be expected to do anything and somehow they are good that you know there is no like hey just stick

With me two seasons from now we’re going to be light in the world on fire it just doesn’t exist you’re either good or you’re not and right now Georgia isn’t so we’ll see if they get better uh let’s see what else uh M Michael Castleberry says couldn’t rebound or close the rim frustrating

Yeah you know that’s kind of what I saw too give him way too many offensive rebounds listen if all you knew about a college basketball game was which team had the most offensive rebounds you’d come pretty close to knowing who won that game you just would col offensive

Rebounds are a massive massive part of the overall success story in college basketball Georgia just gave up way too many didn’t protect the front of the rim I don’t believe very well and as you said probably could have done a better job of finishing at The Rim there too

Chad Williams also pointing out last night against both teams missed a ton of free throws sounds like this was not exactly you know when Dr Nay Smith invented the game um this may not have been the thing of beauty he had in mind unfortunately Doug ramber says dog dog

Started three freshman last night and I guess and I won’t pretend to know you know what they will or won’t be able to do but you know it’s a matter of okay well if these are freshmen that you believe can be capable contributors for

You guys that you want to be a part of your future you know what is your ability to hold on to those guys I I won’t pretend to know but it seems like some of these basketball teams just change over completely completely um uh you know change over completely from one

Year to the next Pete Williams says I forgot to say enjoy some long drink since you enjoy your weekend well listen I Hopey y’all do for sure Johnny Prescott says um love the St Patty’s Day ug image have you ever had a chance to Revel in Savannah’s second

Largest St Patrick’s Day Parade uh I’m still recovering from my last trip in 2019 yeah we’re talking about this before the show I’ve never been before it’d be a really interesting thing to see a crowd that large little nervous probably make now I’m not like like crowd phobic necessarily but that’s such

A large crowd probably you know have a little bit of a you know trouble sort of figuring out how you navigate all of that but uh I would like to see it at some point in time because I’ve just always heard about what St Patrick’s Day

Is like in Savannah as you said like what second largest America perhaps behind only New York City um I’d love to see it but I never have before though um let’s see what else Jamie Huff wants to see George get a little bit better with its front Court

I would say that’s you know probably pretty important especially if you want to control the the rebounding situation a little bit better let me go over to YouTube for a moment Jay sh says how did ba not give a golden shoot to Kaylee for deck rate kayle’s already won two golden shoes

This week so we sort of feel like and and plus you know uh Kaylee made the the augus I mean the the Eddie sign green but um but I believe it’s our buddy Cody Chaffin who takes the responsibility and the credit for the ugust sign in the background so this particular case yeah

There you go look at that uh now I’m color blind so I can’t barely tell it but uh but Eddie showing off the green sign today which you’d love to see uh Memphis dog says blind Eddie for president yeah you love that couldn’t do any worners I don’t think but uh there

You go and I mean not just the current president but just politics in general uh let’s see what else um uh nature Gator says basketball is a major sport everywhere but at ug so obviously uh nature Gator is feeling good today like I said nature you get

Yourself about 50 of those wins against Georgian basketball about about 40 about 50 of those wins and that would be about equal to maybe having a halftime lead against the football team I I I think that’s probably about an equal trade-off there so good luck on that good luck on that

Um uh Daniel Nelson says part of the reason why he’s hyped about the Kurt Cousins thing is because it means the Falcons aren’t drafting JJ McCarthy I would say that’s probably a pretty good reason I also really like kurk cousins thing not a guarantee but um but I

Really like Kurt Cousins um Johnny surf dog says we should add some frame photos of duly and hersel on set I think that’s a really good idea I think that’s a really good idea we’re GNA hopefully add some more to this stuff over time uh let’s see what

Else Paul Moon says don’t put it past the Falcons to still draft JJ McCarthy well there you go there you go um G Grayson here talking about uh milro over back hope that works out for you g hope that works out for you I think that if I’m Jaylen milro I’m more worried

About Austin Mack right now than I am Carson back but we’ll see Allan Hampton says he lived in Montreal for a couple of years what an interesting place that must be he says they celebrate St Patrick’s Day about as much as Christmas that’s very interesting very very interesting

Um Jonathan Aaron says do you think that the college is going to just soon just sort of pick up the NFL playoff that’s a basic what the that’s basically what they almost are moving to right I mean it’s like you know college football has a 12 team playoff this year that’s what

The NFL used to have now it’s 14 team playoff and it sounds like that’s where college football’s going there too so maybe that’s indeed the case um let’s go to dog nation.com uh how about this um so Richard D says that his uncle was Harry dog from 1984

Through 1987 he was 6’5 and they had to redesign the outfit to fit him that’s really interesting really interesting that have been around the time that I was going to games kind of for the first time so that was my hairy dog there you go that’s really

Cool DT says that sanki knew the Big 10 was going to expand so he grabbed Oklahoma Texas preemptively I mean look maybe it’s true that’s what you had to do but there’s no doubt um and I and a I I mean I don’t know if the talk of USC and UCLA joining

The Big 10 was necessarily um was necessarily out there prior to that now you say well Tex Oklahoma would have considered going to the big 10 maybe that’s the case but um just keep in mind is that not only has adding to power programs the SEC essentially made

The league smaller somehow but it also prevented a 12 team playoff from taking place sooner which would have benefited Georgia here this year cuz you know keep in mind that as the Big 10 is sort of outmaneuvered sanki from a corporate standpoint it’s also worked out on the

Field there too in 2022 the Big 10 got two teams in the playoff in 2023 they you know produced the national champion whereas had there been a 12 team playoff here this year we don’t believe Michigan would have won it now as I’ve told you before there’s nothing more worthless

Than hot take about a hypothetical situation we’ll never know how that truly would have played out but um I believe that Michigan’s Championship was a function of the format and who made the playoff and who didn’t so we were moving towards a 12 team playoff you

Know a couple of years ago but the other conferences conspired against the SEC to to prevent that from happening as they protest about the expansion and you know sort of further voice here the the issues so at the time time the Big 10 was working against the SEC aligning itself with the other

Conferences blocked the 12 team playoff and now All is fair you know no no harm no foul now the SC and the Big 10 are working together against the rest it just sort it seems like the big 10 has been giving a lot of freedom to sort of maneuver almost like Palace Intrigue

Style in one faction or the other depending on whatever benefits it and I think for the SEC you just got to be careful if you’re Greg sanki in particular youve just got to be careful I think that sanki is probably best positioned to lead College athletics

Into the future but if you see too much ground to the Big 10 you won’t have the power to be able to do that they’ll take it from you um let’s see what else is over here uh DT on the subject of Elias Williams that’s a guy that I believe if

Georgia can hold on to him and obviously I know Miami’s made a big push it sounds like Florida state is to that’s a guy that I think fans going to really grow to like because I think he’s going to really remind a lot of folks of Darnell

Washington perhaps not quite as big but a pretty big I mean a pretty big guy and a pretty valuable uh uh you know Prospect here uh brooksie says that says ba is right got to focus on defense and the trenches meaning the lines of scrimmage portal and development will

Take care of the rest yeah I mean look I think a good quarterback playing behind a great offensive line is a recipe potentially for as much success as you could possibly ever want um and I think a great quarterback playing behind an offensive line that’s maybe only good

Well that’s a you know that that’s not quite as successful and um so if if if we assume that that that nil dollars are a finite amount and at a certain point it’s not about how much you can raise but how you choose to spend them then I

Think that Georgia would be very wise to choose to spend its on the on on the offensive and defensive lines I did um see what else uh brooksie also about uh Ryan P yeah no doubt a talented quarterback for sure no doubt it sounds like some people are already seeing

That let me go back over to YouTube Here For a Moment chrisopher rues says the 2023 College playoff is definitely a conspiracy against Georgia I mean listen I do think that Georgia was I would say unfairly excluded now if you’re not a Georgia fan you would say well of course that’s what

You think and perhaps that’s the case perhaps this is the most predictable opinion of all but as we’ve said over and over we feel like the overall argument for Georgia making the playoff this past season was a lot better than it was ever given credit for and frankly

I think some Georgia fans themselves have even short changed the extent to which Georgia should have been in the playoff this past year um but I’m also more than happy we acknowledge that not everybody feels that way uh Crow King 123 in the subject of Beck’s draft status saying he’ll be one

Of the first guys off the board certainly seems like that has a chance to be true um he say he’s got a lot of the tools that you want and he isn’t a complete statue and yeah what we’ve heard other people say about Beck is is

That while he is by no means you know as athletic as you know more athletic quarterbacks he he’s not he perhaps is athletic enough which and and it’s not just you know you and me saying that you people who evaluate this stuff for a living have been saying that too

Um yeah Christopher rule says how does Georgia drop from number one to number six after a three-point loss in the SEC Championship game it’s the kind of question that deserved a better answer than it was ever given it does Christopher I think you’re absolutely right about that I do

Um let’s see what else going on Johnny surfdog says Jaylen milro is not an NFL quarterback I I think there’s a chance that’s more true than not Johnny zerog says avoiding turnovers is winning football but you also have to establish a downfield passing to open things up and keep the defense honest

Yeah I mean what we’ve said about Georgia is you know you look at the profile a year ago Georgia led the nation in rushing touchdowns that’s not an insignificant feed and yet despite the fact Georgia in a lot of the passing statistic categories uh you know yards per attempt

Passing yards per game Georgia ranked pretty high what Georgia didn’t do as well they’re on think like 20th and like passing touchdowns you almost wonder could the profile of the Georgia offense change a little bit could this team find a way to score a little bit more through the

Air and if you do that perhaps you make your offense a little bit more unpredictable when it really matters the most you know the idea we’re going to pass our way into the Red Zone and then pound you into the P dir from there you know that certainly works for

Most of the regular season but perhaps does it become a little bit too predictable in the moments that matter the most uh maybe that’s the case you wouldn’t mind seeing I think anyway Georgia succeed with more passing touchdowns this year than it perhaps has in the past a Paul says that Carson Beck

Doesn’t Dink and dunk yeah I mean uh I mean Beck was one of the better yards per temp guys in the whole country last year um anything else before we get ready to wrap it up here on a Friday Bill Sanders says don’t get a twisted ba Michigan’s Championship was

Solely a function of the rest of the country conspiring against Georgia winning a third straight national championship and giving sabbin one more shot when they knew he was close to retiring yeah I mean I mean all of that I guess is is a possibility you know Alabama beat Georgia I don’t have

Any problem with Alabama being the playoff they beat Georgia so in the argu if it’s just an argument of you know Georgia versus Alabama Alabama did beat Georgia but here’s the issue it’s not just an argument of Georgia versus Alabama there are you know sort of additional variables here and you know

It’s important to know that Nick Sabin before he knew what the playoff was going to be was openly arguing for Alabama to make the playoff Over Texas you know so this idea that that Georgia didn’t have any argument to be made because it lost the game well that’s not

How Nick Saban was treating this situation before he knew his team was going to be in which just goes back to what I said before is like the one thing that Sabin was good about was arguing his side whatever his side happened to be and no matter how different his new

Argument was from his previous argument say argued his side um and I do I do think that if you learned anything from Nick Sabin his final year that’s what it would be I also think that Georgia became a very unpopular team with the sort of powers that be after it won a national

Championship 65 to7 and you know I know that you know not everybody you know loves this take but it’s the same it’s the same stripe of opinion that leads Kirk KB Street to you know jump up and down like a cheerleader when Dylan riola goes to Nebraska instead of

Coming to Georgia you know this thing of Georgia doesn’t need to hoard all the best recruits Georgia doesn’t need to hoard all the best players Georgia doesn’t need to hoard all the national championships that little bit of distribution away from Georgia and other places is better for the sport overall

Um that’s the mood that Georgia I think competed with here this past season and listen you can say what you want about the sort of power structure of college football they may be dumb but they’re not stupid their way from a business standpoint worked the TV ratings for the

Sport this year you know for the uh you know the college football playoffs were very very high and attendance overall was up this is like the first year I think since 2008 that we had back-to-back years of improvement in terms of overall attendance in college football so business was better with the

Sport being more balanced there’s no disputing that that College football knows its business getting more programs involved is better for business overall I would say that’s an inarguable point question we would ask is what extent are you willing to go to to make that possible and like you know

You know how aggressive are you willing to be to try to orchestrate a fact pattern that you see to be incentivized that’s the question here um let’s see what else and so Marshall Fleming says going back to the SEC Championship and we’ll get ready to wrap up here he says Alabama

Was given that game period 30 he says close to 30 no calls against Georgia so I want I want to make this clear I know that sometimes you know these sort of sort of gray areas become hard to understand like I do believe that Georgia was unfairly excluded from the college

Football playoff and I do think a lot of people were very happy have a reason not to have them in there I think there was a thumb put on the scale to keep Georgia from being in there I do I do um but I don’t take it to the level of and

Therefore you know the officials were on the take against George and the SEC Championship I don’t take it that far I don’t um I do believe the Isaiah Bond call was a terrible call and I believe that’s a little bit of a more of a reflection of incompetence than it is

Uh uh uh Sinister motive I just think it was Dumb and I do believe the SEC did Georgia a disservice for not offering a better explanation for why the call wasn’t reviewed um I think they were disrespectful because they just don’t care uh I mean the the SEC a couple of

Years ago started their SEC officiating account on X and they never responded to it they you know they don’t take these kinds of complaints seriously they just simply don’t care it doesn’t cost them any money when an official makes a bad call so therefore it’s not of

Consequence to them the fact that fans are mad it they live so far up in an ivory Tower they could care less about the feelings of fans and when the when the sport doesn’t function you know administratively the way it’s supposed to they just don’t care because there’s

No penalty to them for mishandling the situation and they didn’t give you a very good explanation for why the call wasn’t reviewed as it’s supposed to be because they don’t care what you think and so you know this is you know it’s it’s probably a degree of arrogance it’s also just

Incompetence but I don’t believe it was cheating um I I I do believe that there was a little bit of a thumb on the scale that kept George out of the college football playoff but I don’t go as far to say and the officials were on the take against George in the SEC

Championship I think that Georgia lost that game fair and square I think a bad contributed to the loss I think the SEC handled that situation poorly but my beef is more with the the the decision makers who kept Georgia out of the playoff than it was with the SEC Championship himself

Um let’s see what else final comments Paul Moon wants to leave the chat open when the show is over with there you go um t42 says only 40 minutes left in the show no they’re getting on me to make the show a little shorter to

Be honest with you so uh I go ahead and give you a little warning about that uh nature Gator says you will never hear me making excuses when Georgia loses nature G if you are listening now this is where I feel like I treat you pretty

Kindly this is where I’m G to have to tell you here um what you just heard me say is not making excuse for Georgia losing um um I I I don’t trust the Integrity of the college ball playoff selection committee I don’t um and I I won’t I

Won’t pretend to just because it’s sort of coded as low class not to um I won’t do that uh but um in in in the case of the game itself I fairly well just did exactly what I say I always do um uh let’s see what else stick D is very funny line

Um uh let’s see what else G gray says he thinks that Georg would have uh beaten Michigan at the games about matchups I I do think that game just proved to be excessively problematic for for Alabama for some of the matchup things that um uh G gra talking about I also think that

Michigan just had a better approach to Alabama than Georgia took I mean I’d like to think if George had a chance to replay the game against Alabama they would perhaps take a little bit of a different approach um Andrew Hugh says when Beck wins the highest when we win the

National title what’s everybody’s excuse going to be that time uh this time that’ll be should be an interesting thing to say I should say Andrew that will be a very interesting thing to see because we’ve seen him try to move the gold post on Georgia before you’re right about that

Um Paul Moon says we played not to lose against Alabama Michigan played to beat him Paul I hate it but I sort of think it’s true at least the best that I’m capable of I sort of think there’s something to that unfortunately um uh let’s see what

  1. Go with the guys that want to be at uga any player that focuses mainly on nil not a culture fit. End of story.

  2. Some of you no NIL guys are hilarious. If the coaches don't bring up NIL and the family doesn't bring up NIL when will it be brought up. The times have changed. They wouldn't have to if you're up front in the beginning. Now everyone is on the same page!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!😂😂

  3. I am just curious, BUT….

What would you guys say to everyone getting the same NIL base deals with performance-based escalators and opportunities for appearance fee/memorabilia bonuses…??
