It is Championship Saturday at the Division two NCAA Division two meet from the Spire Institute in Greater Cleveland. Welcome to our live streaming coverage on NCAA.com. Com tonight we will wrap up our national champions chase. Will we have repeat champs. We’ll find out Nova Southeastern trying to defend their women’s title. University of

Indianapolis on the men’s side the sharks are in good shape. The Greyhounds have a little bit of work to do. Brendan Gulick with you on NCAA.com. Thanks for joining us. We’ll be with you all throughout the night for the next several hours. In fact, as we get ready for the final,

Freestyle heat in the 1650, it is a timed final four heats, and this is our fourth and final heat that will swim here during the final session tonight. Starting on the lady side, the 1650. Then we’ll do the men. We’ll have the 100 freestyle coming up after that. The 200 backstroke, the 200

Breaststroke, the women’s one meter diving competition. And we’ll wrap the night with the women’s and men’s 400 freestyle relay. Should be a fun night. We’ll go through the up downs with you. If you’re not familiar with those, I’ll explain those along the way. But in the meantime, we’ve got an

Opportunity to see some of the premier swimmers in the country on the distance side, let’s meet our swimmers in Lane one. A senior from Wayne State, the Gliac runner up this year, Barbara munoz Quintero in lane two, a freshman from Umsl, Justice Beard, she was the champion in the glvc this year

By a whopping 15 seconds in lane three. Last year’s national runner up, a junior from Wayne State, Allison Vasilakos Allison won the Gliac this year. The top qualifier nationally is your defending national champion from Nova Southeastern, a junior Emily Trieschmann, who also won the Sunshine State Conference this year. It’s a big

Opportunity for Nova Southeastern because not only do they lead the meet, but they have three swimmers in this Championship final. In lane five, it is sharks sophomore Haley Williams who was terrific and this could be a pretty good race, quite frankly, between Emily and Haley, not only do they train together every day,

But those young ladies were separated at conference by only a second and a half. Olivia Hanson, a sophomore from Colorado Mesa. She’s excellent, won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title this year. She swims tonight alongside her conference mate Tori McClintock junior, from Simon Fraser, who was eight seconds behind Olivia

In the conference meet and in lane eight. A fifth year senior from Nova Southeastern, third in the conference this year. Anita Schiff. Her best time this year is 1652 75. Munoz beard, Vasilakos freshman Williams Hanson, McClintock and Schiff from bottom to top on your screen. Off they go. The all

Time division two national record belongs to Kristin Frost, who swam for Southern Connecticut State way back in the, 2008 season. One of the older records still on the books on the ladies side of Division two, six teen minutes, 17.66 seconds. To give you an idea, freshman her national

Championship a year ago. She is the favorite coming in. And on top of that, her, seed time this year was still about seven seconds off of that all time record mark. So we’ll see if maybe they’ve got something big in store here tonight. All right. Mentioned at the outset

Here, we tell you a little bit about the bigger picture coming into the day. First the team scores on the ladies side after four days of competition. It’s Nova Southeastern 381 Colorado Mesa three 32.5. Drury two 87.5. UIndy two 60.5. And you can pretty much lock those top four,

In the top four spots, but exactly how they finish is still to be determined this evening. Although Nova Southeastern is the favorite coming into the final day of competition, their lead is almost 60 points. And on top of that, they’re in good position because if you look at

The up downs on day five, to give you an idea up is how many a finalists down is, how many be finalists for any individual team? Colorado Mesa has five A finalists and two B finalists. Obviously, you’re seeing Olivia Hanson here. The 200 back will be a big event for the

Mavericks. They have three A finalists. They’ll also have one in the 200 breast. Drury has is A51 up down. They’ve got three 200 breaststroke finalists, one in the 100 free, one in the 100 back. They only have one B finalist. And that’s in the 100 freestyle. Nova Southeastern has

One fewer A finalist. But they have more B finalists for a finalists. Three that are in B consolation finals. So if you’re Colorado Mason you’re trying to make up ground. You’ve got seven swimmers. Nova Southeastern has seven swimmers, Drury has six. Those are probably the best ways to interpret what you think

Could happen tonight. And also maybe you’ll see a little push from West Florida. They could score well with six swimmers overall here this evening competing. But West Florida right now is back in eighth place at 125 points. We’ll see if they can make a push toward a top five spot. But what it’s

Worth, at this point, I would be a little surprised if the winner is not Nova Southeastern or Colorado Mesa, but I would say Nova Southeastern has an upper hand, and some of that’s going to depend upon this race. Frankly because when you’re talking about the 1650, those up downs include this fourth and

Final heat. And that’s obviously important, right? But, you can score and frankly, you could win the national championship now, out of either of those first three heats. So even though Nova Southeastern has three in this heat, that doesn’t mean they’re guaranteed to have three first team All-Americans here, as

Opposed to the other races throughout the night. If you make an A final, then you’re definitely a first team All American. All right. So that’s the, that’s the latest here on the ladies side, the three sharks that are in the pool, Emily Trieschmann, Haley Williams, Nita Schiff, Trischman

Leads the way. 2948 her last split. She’s got a 5.2 second lead over Allison Vasilakos Williams in third, Hansen in fourth. And then it is a tie for fifth in lane seven and eight with Beard and Munoz bottom of the pool right now in seventh and eighth place. All right I

Will pause the commentary here for a few minutes and let you watch. But if anything wild happens, we’ll continue to bring it to you and occasionally show you pictures like this to give you an idea exactly how our swimmers are moving along and how they’re splitting. You’re watching the 1650 freestyle,

Part of the D-2 national championships on NCAA.com . For Hollins. Nova Southeastern. Presented by Florida. Clemson. Girls High school . Northwestern Fort Lewis. Calvin Evansville. Illinois State. Holy Family . Oh my God ! Run Away Today 258. Left To go . Colby Howard. Simon Fraser. There were about a half way

Point there. After touch number 33 for Emily Trischman. And when she hit that break wall, she was basically 25 yards in front of everybody else. Last touch on the timing pad there. Touched 34. She’s at eight. 17, 81. So I don’t think she’s quite trending toward. A national record. But

Perhaps she can pick it up just a little bit toward the end in the meantime, quite obviously Trischman is, way out in front . 50. 59. Mansfield. Cleveland State. Is now Wellesley. Pfeiffer. Brevard And was a member of the freestyle relay . Simon Fraser and Massachusetts Boston 26. Lake Erie. Bloomsburg

Elizabethtown. Boise State . Go back. To. Our. Navy. William Jewell. Nova Southeastern. North Texas . We need our men’s $1,650. Our eight Evansville Cal State Dominguez Hills 1650 freestyle for the region. Three area. So. We Have you guys down to 1232 36. Holy moly. The closing from Simon Fraser Grove City 53.

Well, Emily Trischman continuing to, quite frankly, blitz the rest of the pool at the moment in the ladies 1650 national championship. There are not many swimmers around the country that have had the consistent level of success that we’ve seen from this young woman. It’s just remarkable. Emily Trischman,

It’s not just this event. I mean, it feels like year after year. She is, pretty much dominating Division two swimming. Last year, she won the 500, the 1000 and the 1650. And she’s already backed it up with winning the 500 and the 1000 here this weekend. And she

Appears to be well on her way toward winning the 1650. I know you’ve seen some of the splits on the screen from time to time. The national record I referenced earlier is 16 minutes, 17.66 seconds, and if you do the math on it, you need to average about

29.6 as your split Troy has regularly been sub 30 in the first half of this race, but she’d been more in the 29.7 to 29.9 range and at this point, now you can see she slows down to about 30.2. So she is not pacing toward an all time record

. And yet she is cruising at the moment toward winning a back to back national championship in a third distance event here this weekend. And she was also last year a national winner on the 800 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay. Of course, this year, Nova Southeastern won the

800 freestyle relay, way back on Tuesday night. Got a joke because that was so long ago. At this point, but they did not win the national title in the, 200 medley relay this year. On Wednesday evening. Nova Southeastern in that race as a team took second. But Emily was

Not on that relay team. It was Molly Morfeld, Hannah Montgomery, Raphael O’Rourke and, Maya Esparza that came in second to Lynn by about two point, I should say .23 seconds. All right. I did not mention earlier, though, the time to beat, by the way, was put up by UIndy senior, Bina Trotta’s

Daughter, who swam 1647 .50 this morning. Jordan Fox, a fifth year senior from Wayne State, 1647 70. She was an All American in this event previously, as you hear the final lap bell for Emily Trieschmann, this really hasn’t been close and wasn’t, frankly, quite expected to be. Emily Trischman is in a league

Of her own. Haley Williams gave her a really good run at the SSC Championships, but Emily Trischman is going to win this race by a very wide margin. The 500, the 1000. And now the 1650. Your back to back national champion from Nova Southeastern Emily Trischman. She does it in

A great time of 16 1873. That is not far at all. In fact, it’s barely over a second off the all time national record. Congrats Emily Trischman Nova Southeastern scores a silver medal. Two Haley Williams comes in second. 16, 3488. Emily Trischman came into this race with her best ever mark in this

Race. 16 2421. So she completely annihilates that as we see Barbara finishing down in lane one for Wayne State in 17 1587. Nova Southeastern goes one, two, seven. And so if you’re keeping track at home, that’s important because of the team points associated with the, individual finishes. 1634 from Haley

Williams is faster than Ben Atratus daughter. So Nova Southeastern will go one two. Overall. We’re still waiting for all of the results to aggregate. I’ll tell you exactly who the top eight are. I’ll let you know who the All-Americans are in this year’s race, but Emily Trischman and Haley Williams

Teammates down in Greater Fort Lauderdale, they are the two fastest one mile swimmers in Division two. All right, it’s time to meet our men’s national championship finalists . For our defending champion is in the field and he’ll be in lane three as we introduce you. First to lane one, a junior from Nova

Southeastern. Luka Alessandrini in lane two. You’re looking at him there from West Chester. Sophomore Paul Dempsey. That is our defending national champion senior from Grand Valley State Eric Haber. Not only did he win last year, Eric is a four time All American in this event. Jacob Hamline, a freshman from

Tampa, the top overall national qualifier when he swam a PR 15 minutes, 1.66 seconds as a freshman for the Tampa Spartans. Pretty darn impressive. His top competition today just might be another first year collegiate swimmer from Wayne State, Khalil Benajmin. That guy’s been dynamite in all three distance

Events here this week. There he is. Cedric Buesing from the University of Indianapolis. If he’s not one of the top three on the podium, something wild happened in every distance race that he swims. This kid is conditioned to win, and the Greyhounds are certainly hoping he’ll have a good performance.

There is a third freshman in the field. It’s McKendree freshman Christian Davidson, Great Lakes Valley Conference runner ups in lane seven and in lane eight. Victor Rosado, a two time All American in this event, as long as he finishes this race, it’ll be the third time he should make that happen. Not guaranteed

Though. You got to go out and actually perform well enough. Rosado has gone fourth and fifth. The last couple years. Alessandrini in lane one. Your champion in the Sunshine State Conference. Dempsey in lane two, won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference by 36 seconds. The Gliac runner up this year was, Eric Hebert, and

He was the runner up to Wayne State’s freshman, Khalil Benajmin. And so there is a little competition there for Eric. Jacob Hamline did not swim this race at the Sunshine State meet, but he has the fastest mark in Division two, which came back at the Gamecock Invitational back in mid-November. Cedric won the

Great Lakes Valley Conference championship, beating Christian Davidson from McKendree by seven seconds and Victor Rosado is your champion in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this year. Defending champ is in lane three. Defending runner up is in lane six. There are five different swimmers in the pool who have won at least one

All-American honor. And four of the five have done it twice, so this could be a pretty good race. The all time Division two record was set by Fabio Dallas from McKendree just a couple years ago. Back in 2021, when he swam in 14 minutes, 55.12. So that is 855 total seconds.

Divided by 30. I did that wrong. I want to make sure I give you the right number. Yeah, divided by 30 touches about 28.5. All right, so as long as you can average 28.5 seconds, you got a chance to break the all time mark. We’ll find out if that is

Possible as this race progresses . In the meantime, I’ll lay out and let you watch the race, and we’ll continue to show you some results along the way and try to give you an update how things are going, that last touch it is Christian Davidson from McKendree in first place up in

Lane seven. In 134. Loras of a second faster than our time was 44. Michigan Millikin from Saginaw Valley . Morehead State. Plattsburgh State. Montana State in five. Central Washington. Providence three 3768. Down three and Oklahoma Luther George Fox. Continuing to watch coverage of the men’s 1650 National championship race, which is

Nearing its one third mark. In the meantime, wanted to tell you that the women’s standings have now updated. Obviously, Emily Trischman and Hailey Williams from Nova Southeastern took the top two spots. Third place belonged to Simon Fraser Tori McClintock. Allison Vasilakos finished in fourth this year after taking runner up last year

. Olivia Hanson from Colorado Mesa, an All American. She’s in fifth out of an earlier heat. Bennett Trott, a starter from Indianapolis, finishes sixth. Justice beard, the freshman from Umsl. She’s an All American in seventh. And Jordan Fox, who also swam in an earlier heat 50 or senior at Wayne State, will

Be on the podium here in a bit in eighth place, scoring 11 points for Wayne State. And it was Glover, Bauer, St. Olaf Queens (New York) Stewart Schiff, Herrero and Carvalho scoring as second team. All Americans on the ladies side at the beginning of the day, Nova

Southeastern had a 381 to 3 32.5 lead and after the first round here of competition tonight, that lead has increased 428 to 346. But we’ll have to keep our eye on that around the rest of the night because Colorado Mesa, while they have a lot of ground

To make up, they do have a bunch of talented swimmers still to come. And who knows, it just might come down to the 400 freestyle relay at the end of the night, where Colorado Mesa is the number one team in the country coming in at least as far as their seed goes. Nova

Southeastern has a good team. They are seeded fourth nationally in the relays, but with relays worth double, you never know for sure. Obviously Dequeuing in a relay is disastrous as we’ve seen one relay DQ this week, so you got to go out and actually execute. But I know Nova Southeastern is

Feeling fairly confident at the moment about how their, how their hopes stand for a national title. The meantime, this race is actually still fairly tight. Benajmin the freshman from Wayne State right now, leads the way in lane five and it’s Cedric Buesing in lane six. Third place to Dempsey. Fourth to

Alessandrini, then Hamline Davidson Rosado and Heber. But that last year’s defending national champion is in last place at the moment in lane three. Well, this did look like it was a quicker field just with the eye test and looking at some of the seed times this year. The

Time to beat belongs to Saginaw Valley State junior Ben Weinman, who swam 15 2332 earlier. And Del Marcos from Wingate also might have a podium shot. 15 2334. That was a very close finish between those two guys. A little bit of separation here. Five lane six, both swimming well, Benajmin and bussing. Next

Touch for these guys should represent their halfway mark. Gotta go down and back 33 times total. By the way, during that little delay I had earlier, I double checked my math. I think I did give you the wrong number. So I apologize for that. In order to break the national record, you

Got to average 27.1 as your split. Fabio Dallas at 1455 12, swam at an average of 27 one. And you’re certainly going to see some differences, right. You’ll we’ll see some guys that are swimming a little faster early settle into a little bit slower, and then maybe try to

Quicken the tempo whenever they decide, you know what, I’m I’m good. This is when I got to make my kick. In the meantime, we’ve got a couple of other really fun events for you this evening. Just a preview of what’s coming. The women’s and men’s 100 yard freestyle, the 200 yard

Backstroke and the 200 breaststroke. Still on the docket later, we have a few defending champions in the field and we have a couple of big storylines at stake, including the sensational Ben Sampson from Colorado Mesa, who was trying to win a fourth individual national championship this weekend, won

The 200 Im on Wednesday. He won the 400 Im in National record setting time on Thursday yesterday and is going to try to win the 200 back coming up later tonight. But he was the second fastest guy in prelims this morning and he was a full second behind Parker Coleman from

Tampa. So it’s going to take a big swim from Ben Sampson who by the way is capable of it. He’s had a much better seed time. But some of that can be altitude adjusted. Swimming out in that rocky mountain air should be fun coming up. And UNC Asheville

Continues to lead. It’s about a five second lead over Cedric Buesing mentioned that 400 Im record that was set. You might remember two nights ago. It’s one of the most fun nights of swimming I’ve ever, ever watched. At least on the men’s side. We had several ridiculously close races that

Night, but you don’t get any closer than that one, separated by 1/100. I mean, that is almost incalculably small. Sampson out touched Cedric Buesing for that national championship. Benajmin up leading the way this young man has also been pretty impressive this week, hasn’t he? Saw him for the first time on

Wednesday when he finished as the runner up in the 1000, and he he did it by, unfortunately just losing to Cedric 7/100 of a second. Cedric went eight 5451 Benajmin eight 5458. And so the freshman from Wayne State was a national runner up there. But obviously these two guys don’t

Swim in the same conference despite geographically not being terribly far away from each other. But Ben Asubry University, I don’t know if he got a better night’s sleep last night or he’s just paste this race better right now. He is kicking Cedric’s butt. A long way to go. Still, though. Looks

Like the marker that was just put in the pool. He has 13 more touches, so Benajmin still a ways to go. That was in the thousand in the 500 yesterday. Benajmin finished third behind Cedric and, Santiago. Corridor won that race for 1798. Mercy corridor coming up here later

Tonight as well. He is a pretty good backstroker. We’ll see him in the 200 back and the championship final. By the way, when this race is done, they’ll go right into the 100 yard freestyle consolation final for the ladies. They’ll swim both women’s and both men’s races. And then they’ll do the podium

Presentation for the 1650s. Podium presentation is scheduled for 622. If we’re on time. So if you’re interested in checking that out, it’s a little over 15 minutes from now. All right. Just a reminder, the all time D-2 record is 14 minutes, 55.12 Benajmin has a substantial lead over Boise State, who’s in lane

Four swimming. Ironically right next to last year’s national champion and Eric Heber. And yet he is 50, in front of Eric. This point is basically lapped him. Benajmin in lane five touches 1404. He’s got three more touches to go. Using in second is seven seconds. Back then Dempsey in third is six seconds

Behind Cedric buzzing the top two right now. Basically locked in bell lap for Benajmin who’s at 1430 101 right now. Wayne State University up in Michigan. Will the Warriors see something special here? I don’t think they’ll ever forget it. It’s a national championship for Muhammad Khalil Benajmin. 1457

68. That is nine seconds faster than his best time of the season . Buzzing in second, Dempsey in third. Allison Drini in fourth, Heber Hamline Rosado and Davidson round out the field. I can’t imagine what Benajmin must have been feeling back on Wednesday. The bitter disappointment of coming so

Close to winning a national championship and losing by 7/100 over 1000 yards, and yet he’s kept his composure this week, continued to compete well, and when he got his chance in the 1650, let’s just call it for what it is. He boat raced the rest of the field 1457 not far

Off the all time national record. Congratulations to Khalil Benajmin outstanding. All right, women’s consolation finalists now in the 100 freestyle Lane one from Augustana (Illinois) it’s junior Misha Montgomery in Lane two. Our 50 yard national champion from UIndy. Kirabo Namutebi in lane three. Josie Bushell, a senior from Drury who last year

Was the second alternate at the national meet. She gets into the night swims this year, runner up in the Great Lakes Valley Conference PR this morning for Nova Southeastern sophomore Raphael O’Rourke, who’s in lane four. Raurich had a pretty good day on Wednesday when she won a National, I should say, on

Thursday when she won a national championship. Pretty impressive stuff from her. Emily Traub junior from Truman State Shepherd at the Glvc Championships where she won the race. Lucinda Andrews, Great to see her back in the night swim last year. She made it to the evening swim but dq’d on a false

Start. Josie Bushell, by the way, leads this race. Ada Cornell tough race this morning. Sophomore from Colorado Mesa at the number five overall national qualifying mark and she was unable to put together her best mark earlier and Abigail Williams, a sophomore from Simon Fraser, is up in Lane eight.

Who’s going to touch first here? Looking good for Emily and it is Emily Traub 49.95, from Truman State. That’s a new personal best swim for Emily Traub by about almost 4/10 of a second. Congratulations, Emily Traub. She won the B final at the National championship. All right. We are guaranteed to have

A new national champion here in 2024, because last year’s champ, Carson Newman’s Manan campaigner, is not swimming any longer for CNU. She disrupted a Queens three peat Queens, of course, no longer a Division two swimming program. Here we go in lane one. A sophomore from Grand Valley State. It’s Lucy Hedley,

The Gliac champion this year. Last year she did not get out of prelims and this year she’s in the championship final. Great for her in lane two. The great Midwest Mountain East a terrific swimmer, although did not swim this race at the conference meet Emily Beres here’s Bentley she

PR this morning at 50.08 Laura Dekanich a junior from Lynn 49 to 81. In prelims this morning, she was the Sunshine State Conference champion because Luna mertens, who’s in lane five, her teammate, did not swim this event at the Sunshine State meet. Both of them, though, are

Going to try to figure out how to beat Kira Pavey, the young lady from Hungary who is a junior at Henderson State new South champion in this event, the 50 and the 200 and the 100 back this year and last year. Incredible resume for Kira Pavey, who is the top national

Qualifier number one in D2 this year, her best swim is 4882, in lane six, Ashlyn Moore, sophomore from Drury, who grew up in Springfield, and Ashlyn Moore, is the Glvc runner up this year. Had a really good swim this morning at nsci sees the champion was Brian Greenwalt, the sophomore from

Augustana and a native of Foley, Minnesota Shepherd. This morning, Brandeis in lane seven and from Los Angeles, Montana white, the junior at Azusa Pacific. She is in lane eight after powering this morning as well. Did not swim the 100 freestyle at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference meet,

But she won the 200 and 501,000 and she has been great as a 100 yard freestyler in her career. Hedley Mears, Bentley Deconick Paivi Mertens more, Greenwalt and white from bottom to top in the pool. Greenwalt seventh in this race a year ago. Pavey a two time first team All American

Finishing runner up last year to Campaner nobody else has ever been in this national championship final. Who’s going to get it done? For the first time in their career? Good race going, but right now in lane four, Pavey has the smallest of leads. Then there are four swimmers bunched together three,

Five, six and seven for a very close race at the moment 2321 Pavey went out first, then it’s more Mertens, Greenwalt and Deconick. There may have been a malfunction in the timing pad on lane three. We’ll keep our eye on that. Here we go. Pavey in lane four has the lead. Kierra

Pavey, the Henderson State Reddies, called the Red wave in swimming. They’re so impressive at sprints and they get it done in. Kira Pasv 48.88. Just missed her personal best. Brynn Greenwalt in second. Laura Deconick a bronze medal. Henderson State. Men and women. Lamar Taylor, Jack Armstrong, Kira Pavey. They have set the

Tone at practice all year. Competes so well, and Kira is your national champion in the 100 freestyle. Pretty special moment for Kira. She came into this meet as a five time first team All American, but had never won a national title. Until now. They do have someone checking

Out the timing pad there in lane three. That’s the reason for the brief delay. 957. Just waiting for those pads to reset. In the meantime, the men’s 100 yard freestyle consolation final includes freshman Jameson McEnany from Colorado Mesa Lane two is Nico Jacinto, a senior from Lewis Lane three, Leo

Knowles from Northern Michigan, Kyle Micallef, young man from Florida Southern who had a national championship victory earlier this week. Kyle is in lane four, just missed the A final one the B final last year as well. Yuri Cabral, a freshman from Drewry’s in five. Joel Silva eighth place a year ago.

He’s a fifth year senior from UIndy swimming in Lane six. Carson-Newman sophomore Arthur Glusman is in seven and Viktor Keene State, UConn fifth year. A Drury in lane eight. McEnany, Jacinto Knowles, Micallef, Cabral, Silva, Glusman and Kanaykin. There they go into the pool. Men’s 100 yard freestyle. National record was set at the

Championship meet in 2021 by Polish Olympian Karl Ostrowski, who was a five time D-2 national champ at Drury, and in November announced that he’s transferring to Hawaii. Competed in the Tokyo Olympic Games but has a chance. I would think, to get to Paris. Not many guys on the Polish

Relay teams have put up the numbers that Karl has. Good luck to him. In the meantime, this B final looking pretty good there in lane two for Nico Jacinto. He is the first to touch Lewis continues a nice meet. Well done. 4320 for Jacinto. McEnany comes in second. 4353. Great

Swim for Jameson. Coming up. We are getting set for the national championship final. One of one of everybody’s favorite races. The 100 yard freestyle. And so we will introduce our finalists to you. Just about to come out the door on the top of your screen there. And Lane one, a

Junior from Fresno, Pacific John Bilecki each of the last two years, Bilecki has not gotten out of prelims, but he’s dropped time big time. How about this? Last year, he was 28th in prelims, and this year he was 1.1 second faster. This morning, swimming a personal best 4341.

And now the sunbirds have an A finalist. The South African Matt Bosch, who competes for Grand Valley State, is in lane two fourth place. A year ago he also put up a PR this morning. 4321 your defending champions in lane three. A senior from Henderson State, Lamar Taylor, he and his

Classmate and teammate Jack Armstrong in lane four, who was third in this race a year ago, going to try to match what Kara just did on the ladies side and take home a title. Of course, you might remember from a few nights ago. Taylor cramped up as

He dove into the pool, trying to defend his 50 yard freestyle championship and unfortunately was dq’d because he couldn’t finish the race legally. Taylor and three Armstrong and four Marcel Snitko won that 50 yard freestyle title. Won it fair and square. The 50 year senior from Nova Southeastern, who previously competed for Wingate.

He swam a PR this morning 42.95. So he’s hot. Fifth year from Tampa. Two of them, in fact, in six and seven Ian Cooper and Blake Moran. And then it’s Maurice Grabowski, a sophomore from Lynn in eight Snitko won the SSC championship this year. Gliac champ was Bosch in lane

Two by a lucky one. The Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference championship in both the 50 and the 100 at the bottom half of the pool. I guess on your screen it’s the top half, five, six, seven and eight, all from the Sunshine State Conference Nova Southeastern Tampa and Lynn. By

The way, coming into this race after the 1653 Tampa men hanging on to a national lead at the moment. But it is very tight over Drury. Bottom to the top. Bialecki Bosch. Taylor Armstrong. Snitko. Cooper, Moran and Grabowski. Lamar Taylor in lane three. Swimming well. Jack Armstrong powerful stroke for stroke,

Right, with Lamar. Lane seven. Got out of the pool fast. Moran was trying to get up on the top of the water. Look at Taylor. Excellent surge. He is 50 at the front by oh six in front of Armstrong. Taylor Armstrong, Cooper. Moran in that order. The top four Lamar Taylor trying to

Keep this going. The all time record at Division two 4125. Best swim in the morning was 4263. Taylor losing a little ground. Here comes Armstrong. The red wave are at the front and they finish. One, two. It’s Taylor back to back champs. Jack Armstrong in second for one hundredths behind his teammate

As Marcel Snitko comes in third. A little bit of retribution in there for Lamar Taylor, knocking out the 50 champ and repeating as the national champion in the 100 freestyle. And then one of. Mississippi State all New Orleans Thiel. John The City College of New York Mississippi State. And then they included in

Cedrick Boozang and being presented by his assistant coaches Gloria martinez Perez and Catherine Lykes. With your 2024 National

Champion with a championship time of 1457 68 from Wayne State, Muhammad Khalil Ben Ajemian. So congratulations to our national champions in the 1650 Emily Trieschmann and Muhammad Khalil Benajmin. You get a look there at the men’s team scores! Tampa 393. Drury 341. That is not insurmountable for Drury,

But they’re going to need some, probably need a little bit of help. Drury only has one swimmer in the championship final of the 200 back. They have one in the consolation final. Tampa has two in the 200 back, and then the 200 breaststroke. Drury might make up a little bit of ground.

They have two in that a final, none in the B final. Tampa has one in the A final and of course got the relay at the end of the night. So Tampa fans are not, I wouldn’t say they’re holding their breath that hard, but you never know until you can really

See it. It’s hard to be not nervous, that’s for sure. All right. This is event number 36 of the weekend. It’s the women’s 200 yard backstroke. Consolation final. Includes Tampa freshman Sydney Meister in lane one fifth of the conference meet. Malone from Nova Southeastern is in lane two. She was the runner up

In the SSC. Andrea Gomez Espinosa Junior from UIndy, two time B finalist prior to this year. So this is her third consolation final. Her teammate from UIndy, Maya Krestovsky, was an A finalist last year, finished seventh. Luna mertens missed the A final this year after taking home sixth last

Year and runner up two years ago. She is the champion in the SSC. Alicia Pinkowitz, freshman from Davenport in six. Tammy Greenwood in seven, freshman from Oklahoma Christian and Kyla Blakemore from Carson-Newman is in lane eight. Disappointing for Kyla Blakemore. Last year, she swam one 5818 to finish third in

This event. This morning in prelims, she was 2.5 seconds slower than that, almost missed the evening session entirely. Lee. She was the runner up of the South Atlantic Conference this year, but her prelim time wasn’t too far off her season best. Perhaps she hadn’t been working at the 200 back quite as

Much of late. Let’s see if Blakemore can put a good performance together. Blakemore looks fine there at the top of the pool. She’s toward the front. The leader looks like Lane five at the moment. Luna mertens. It’s close. It is Blakemore who hits first. Blakemore, Greenwood, Christie. Gomez. Espinosa. Mertens. Wow.

And that separation there between those five swimmers is incredibly small. Blakemore nicely done in lane eight. Senior year for Kyla Blakemore. All you can do is just try to win the race that you’re in right? Kyla kicks. She still leads is second to Maloney. 3032 Loras last split that was

Fastest over the last 50 3054 from Krizevska in lane four. She’s in third. Greenwood slipped to fourth. Timers out of their chairs. Oh good. Explosion from Greenwood OCU swimming. Well here comes Lohi in lane two. Christopher pushing in for. But it is Maloney Nova Southeastern big swim from Maloney. Blakemore slides from

First to fourth in the event, but swims a really nice time of one 5896. Second to Krizevska, third to Greenwood. When you’re trying to win a national championship, everything counts and Nova Southeastern is pretty fired up about having taken home the maximum amount of points there in this event. They do not

Have anyone swimming in the championship final, and this is important because Colorado Mesa has three A finalists here. And if the Mavericks are going to make a move to win a national championship this weekend, now is the time. Coming into this event, Nova Southeastern lead was 434 to 3, 49.5. That’s a

Difference of 84.5 points. Getting late in the meet, it’s not insurmountable, but it is going to be tough. Let’s meet our finalists in Lane one, a freshman from Tampa, six at the SSC. Meet Linsey Lauder. Good swim for her this morning. One of the Mavericks is in lane two.

It’s Lauren White, the fifth year senior from Colorado Mesa who two years ago was a first team All American. She finished fifth at the Max this year in a personal best time in lane three is Agata Nazareth, a sophomore from Colorado Mesa. She was the Rocky Mountain champion in her

Adjusted time. This year was the top national qualifying mark coming into the meet lane four is Lexi Waller, your defending champion and she is the Great Lakes Valley Conference champion this year. Waller last year got it done to stand on top of the podium for the Drury Panthers.

And she’ll try to repeat here tonight. Next to her is a sophomore from West Florida, Nina Imboden, who is the new South champion here this season, swam a PR one 5774 recently. Marta Biesmans, a junior from Wingate All American a year ago after winning the South Atlantic Conference championship. She’s

Back in the A final. Sierra Gillen, a junior from Tampa, has missed the night swim each of the last two years at prelims and she did not swim this event at the conference meet, but qualified with a one 5838 at the Gamecock invite back in November . And the Mac runner up this

Year is Cate Matouskova, a senior from Colorado Mesa, who finished tied for 11th last year. This is her fourth evening swim at nationals. From bottom to top in the pool. Lander white Nazareth Waller in Bowdoin. Bozeman’s. Gillen. Matouskova the all time Division two record set back in 2017. Keene State

One 5448, was set by Hannah Pfeiffer from Queen’s University in Charlotte. So far, so good for Nazareth in lane three. Agata had a really good day yesterday. I don’t imagine she’s soon going to forget her national championship in the 100 backstroke 5252, she beat Abby Greenholz from Minnesota Minnesota State Mankato. Lauren

White was third in that race. Nazareth going to try to win both backstroke events at the national championship. So far, so good for Agata. Halfway home, she’s got the lead last split 5646 and she did it in 2913. She’s about a half a second in front of the defending champion

Lexi Waller. Third place to Bozeman’s, fourth to Imboden at the halfway point, then louder white, Gillen and Matouskova. National championship starting to take shape. Lane three four, five six, in that order with lane one also in the mix in Luther Nazareth, Waller, Imboden, louder Biesmans white, Gillen, Matouskova in that

Order. At the three quarter Mark Agata Nazareth with her Colorado Mesa mavericks, 84.5 points behind Nova Southeastern. Trying to win a national championship. Not once, but twice this weekend. The best Backstroker in the country. Agata Nazareth one 5530. Waller comes in second. Louder, a third place finish in Bowdoin Biesmans Gillen,

Matouskova and White. The top national qualifier and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion comes to Greater Cleveland and wins a national title. To get there. All right, we are moving along to the men’s 100 yard. I beg your pardon? 200 yard backstroke. By the way, before I introduce those

Swimmers to you, give you a quick update on the score. Nova Southeastern lead was 84.5 points going into that event, and it’s down to 50.5. There are still one individual event in the pool, one relay event and diving still in front of us, but Nova Southeastern fans are feeling good at the moment.

Men’s 200 yard backstroke Gustav Henriksen, Thomas Caruso, Silas Beausang, Naturgas. Fellow Andrew Scoggin, Alvaro Zornoza Quiroz, Thomas Sadowski and Marcus Mac. Henriksen, a sophomore from Nova Southeastern . There are three freshmen in the pool. Caruso from Simon Fraser, fourth at the Rocky Mountain meet. Glvc third finish for indie freshman Silas

Beausang and the Drury freshman Alvaro Zornoza Quiroz. Last year, Nay Chagas Filho finished fourth at the national championships, but qualified for the B final this morning with a one 4438. In prelims. Andrew Scoggin the only other one in this field who has swam this race at the national meet

Before, he was 12th last year. Good race going Lane seven, five, four and one are all tight. First to touch at that mark was Lane seven. Grand Valley State Thomas Sadowski, Scoggin Chagas Filho and Beausang and Henriksen are all in there. Who’s going to get it done in the men’s 200 yard

Backstroke? Everybody trying as hard as they can to swim at the top of the water here. Solid swim there from Andrew Scoggin about 2634. That’s a really good split. Only Marcus Mac was even close to that over that last 50. Scoggins starting to turn it on. The Mavericks fans are up and on

Their feet. Andrew Scoggin. Clearly on his way to a consolation final win. 2642 boy, his last 250 were excellent at one 4412 for Andrew, with Sadowski and Mac finishing second and third. All right, we are ready for the men’s 200 yard backstroke National championship race as we are guaranteed to have a good

One because this should be a really fun heat. Your championship finalists about to make their way into the pool. Here they come. Your defending champion is in lane five. Ben Sampson from Arvada, Colorado, swimming for the Mavericks for the final time tonight. Redshirt junior likely has opportunities at Division One ahead of him,

But wants to go out in style with Colorado Mesa. He’ll try to win a title with some serious speed around him. Lane one A freshman from Berry who parred this morning by 6/10 of a second. It’s Roland Nagy in lane two. Excellent morning swim for McKendree junior Patrick Rosnick

, runner up at the conference meet. He also had a big PR lane. Three is going to be a tough competitor, Tampa senior Santiago Corridor, who has swam at Division one for Florida and Florida State. He was the runner up, a year ago and he won the, the Sunshine State Conference

Championship this year. Top prelim time this morning belonged to his teammate Parker Nolan in lane four. Parker went 140 208, which is one of the best swims he’s had of recent memory. But he did have the top qualifying time in the country earlier this year. Ben Sampson in lane five, the junior from

Colorado Mesa who won last year and finished runner up two seasons back, has gone as fast as one 3963. He is the all time Division two record holder, but he did not set that record at the Championship meet was 1/100 faster than the meet in 2014. Ralph Hendrix in lane six, the

Senior from Saint Cloud State. This is his fourth. A final at the National Championships and a PR just a couple of years ago, close to what he did this morning. Keep your eye on Hendrix. He’s the Gliac champ, the Glvc champ. Ivan Adamchuk, a freshman from Drury in lane seven and Oklahoma Christian

Freshman Eli Rowan, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion. I beg your pardon? Runner up in Lane eight, Nagy Rosnick corridor. Nolan Sampson, Hendrix Adam Chuck and Roland . Off and going in the national championship. The top six marks in the country this year were all set early in the season.

None of them were at recent conference championship meets. But these guys have been tapering for this national championship and I expect fast times. Mentioning Ben Sampson last year at NCAAs, he won the 200 back and the 200 Im. He is trying to win a fourth national championship in four days. He

Won the 200 Im on Wednesday, the 400 Im in national record time on Thursday and he won the 100 back yesterday. Sampson in lane five swimming well, so is Adam Chuck in seven corridor and Nolan certainly part of the mix in lanes three and four. We are almost halfway home with Ben

Sampson from Colorado Mesa at the outset he just split 2507 4891 his last time. Nolan in second third to Adam Chuck, fourth to corridor. Ben Sampson was the 2023 National Swimmer of the year. It is so hard to put up accolades like that. It’s even harder to repeat. It’s a

Good race with 50 to go, so Emerson lead is about half a second. Nolan in second quarter and third, Adam Chuck in fourth. Final turn on the break wall. Good underwater work Ben Sampson look at him leading this race. He’s increased the lead to a whole body length. Second place

Is more exciting than first. Unbelievable Four and four days for Ben Sampson. Corridor out touches his teammate Parker Nolan for second place. But for the fourth time this week, Ben Sampson is a national champion and he does it in all time Division two record breaking one 4034. Hendrix Cleveland State.

Wow. Thank you. What a moment for the Mavericks. Hendrix and Guilford. University of North Carolina Wilmington. It’s pretty amazing. You get to come compete at a national championship like this. And you only you only dream of what you might be able to accomplish. All the morning swims, all the time, all the

Travel, everything that families invest in, the opportunities for their their sons and daughters, their nieces and nephews to just give it their best. And for so many, this is the pinnacle of what they’ll ever accomplish. I cannot imagine how proud Ben’s parents Matt and Aaron, his girlfriend Tricia, his brothers

And sisters are of what he’s accomplished here this weekend. Two national records, four national championships, ships Colorado mace up one of the highlights of the meet. All right, we’ve got the 200 breaststroke coming up here shortly. But first, the podium presentation and the women’s and men’s 100 yard freestyle on the

Way on NCAA.com. Tom 100 yard freestyle. In Nate place with a time of 5046 from Grand Valley Lucy Healy. In seventh place with a time of 5038 from Findlay Emily Mears Bentley in sixth place with a time of 5016 from Azusa. Pacific Montana white in fifth place at the time of 4981 from

Drury. Ashlyn Moore in fourth place with a time of 4964 from Lynn Luna Martin Owens and we have a tie your national runner ups with a time of 4957 from Augustana. Brynn Greenwald and Bard from Lynn. Laura de cognac. And being presented by these head coach by her head coach,

Scotty Serio, with a championship time of 4888, your 2024 national champion in the women’s 100 yard freestyle from Henderson State Kiara. Pause by. We need our top eight finishers in our men’s 100 yard freestyle to the awards ready area. Now please! Top eight finishers in our men’s 100 yard freestyle to

The awards ready area. Now, please . Here’s our your results for event 35. Men’s 100 yard freestyle in 16th place from Florida Southern Kyle McAuliffe in 15th place from Drury. Yuri Cabral in 14th place from Drury. Victor Kinchen in 13th place from Carson-Newman. Arthur Glusman in 12th place from

Northern Michigan Leo Knowles in 11th place from Mindy Joel Silva in 10th place from Colorado. Mesa Jamison McNamee, and in ninth place from Lewis. Nico Jacinto. We need Lamar Taylor and Jack Armstrong to the awards ready area, please . Ladies and gentlemen, let’s welcome to the podium your top

Eight finishers in our men’s 100 yard freestyle . In eighth place with a time of 4397 from Lynn Maurice Grabowski . In seventh place with a time of 4344 from Tampa. Ian Cooper in sixth place with a time of 4341 from Fresno Pacific. John Baliki in fifth place with a

Time of 4329 from Tampa. Blake Moran, and in fourth place with a time of 4324 from Grand Valley. Matthew Bosch in third place with a time of 4319 from Nova Southeastern. Marcel Snitko , your 2024 runner up with a time of 4268 from Henderson State. Jack Armstrong, and being

Presented by his head coach Scotty Serio. Your 2024 national champion in the men’s 100 yard freestyle with a time of 4264 from Henderson State Lamar University Taylor. A pretty cool moment for the red wave national champions on both the men’s and women’s side. In the 100 yard freestyle, Carapaz and Lamar Taylor.

All right. We are getting ready for the 200 yard breaststroke . Consolation finalists are preparing, so let’s introduce them to you, shall we? In Lane one, a sophomore from Westchester, Lena Ryan, the runner up in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Kylie Beaudet, a sophomore from CSU East Bay. She’ll be in lane two.

Lane three is Sasha Jiu-Jitsu, fifth year from Lynn down in Florida. Third of the SSC meet Abigail Wood, a senior from Rollins PR this morning. She was fifth in the Sunshine State Conference this year. Happy for Abigail, who last year was 27th overall in prelims. Now. Never really got close to the night

Swim in this year. Darn near made the A final LeTourneau Bogdanova sophomore for the Argonauts is in lane five. Here’s a fun story if you’re a local product. Katie Susi. She’s a Northeast Ohio native from Elyria Catholic High School, families from Amherst swimming for Findlay in Lane six. Katie

Was the champion in the great Midwest Mountain East Conference . Cameron ducat, sophomore from Tampa in Lane seven, runner up at the Sunshine State meet and then personal best time two 1631. And this is important because Maddie Moran is swimming in lane eight for Colorado Mesa. She was a sophomore, is a

Sophomore, finished seventh at the Yarmouk meet this year. She did not get in by qualifying. She was the first alternate and because sunshine State Conference champion Alexi Pelletier scratched after coming in 16th, Colorado Mesa gets an extra swimmer here tonight and obviously they’re chasing Nova Southeastern turn now. They’ll

Only get a maximum of nine additional points. But look, nine points or nine points, it could be as few as one, but you’ll likely see Colorado Mesa score again here, provided there’s no disqualification for Moran, so that’s important. If you’re a Nova Southeastern or Colorado Mesa fan in particular,

This is a close race and wouldn’t you know it, Maddie Moran is in the lead. Halfway home 105 68. Wood is in second third to jujitsu, four to ducat. Colorado Mesa sophomore Maddie Moran having a great swim. You want to talk about making the most of an opportunity? She’s

Got to keep it going because here comes Abigail Wood in for the lead is only 7/100, Maddie Moran lost about 4/10 of a second on that last leg. Moran starting to quicken the tempo. Haven’t seen a winner in lane eight. I don’t think all weekend. Abigail Wood, Maddie

Moran shaping up to be the top two. Great underwater work off the wall from wood, and now she’s trying to explode. Colorado Mesa trying to make this thing interesting. Maddie Moran in lane eight wins the B final. Second to Katie. Susie How cool for Katie. Swimming with family and friends.

Watching on from the west side of Cleveland, representing the Findlay Oilers. Comes in second in her race. That’s a pretty emotional moment for Maddie Moran. Good for her. Last year, Maddie was 30th in prelims and this year gets in via first alternate and it makes it count. How about that? All

Right. Championship finalists in the women’s 200 yard breaststroke. It’s the final individual event for the ladies in the swimming pool in lane one. A junior from William Jewell College in the Glvc, Martina Torrente Brugada Shepherd this morning by three quarters of a second after missing in prelims last year.

She’s in the A final now. Heavy hitters coming Luisa machado, a senior from Drury PR this morning by two seconds after going sixth in conference this year. You’re going to get a feel here for the Glvc the first five I’m telling you about are all from the same league. Three in a

Row from Drury Machado, Meli week and Clare Conover, all Panthers in lanes two, three and four week was the conference runner up. Conover was third at the conference meet, but Conover was third at the national meet last year as well. She appeared this morning, by the way, by 1.15 seconds, with the top

Qualifying time, your top national qualifier coming into the meet is UIndy junior Celina Schmidt. Schmidt went two 1107 back in early December, which is lightning fast. Lane six this is where North. Nova Southeastern has just racked up points. They haven’t had everybody swimming in all of the events that you

Might expect them to. And here’s one that Amelia Rendahl may be wasn’t anticipated to swim here this weekend. The 200 breast. She did finish eighth in this race a year ago. But she had the 17th fastest qualifying mark in the country and was fourth at conference. But she’s a national

Champion in the 200 free and in the 200 Im last year. Running dog going to try to take it home for the sharks tonight. Madeline Coley in Lane seven. Junior from Westchester who two years ago was an All American last year a B finalist and in lane eight, a

Fifth year senior from Colorado Mesa and a multi-time national champion already this week. Benedict Nagy, fifth year senior from ASA, was the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference runner up. Benedict Nagy is the national champion in the 200 Im earlier this week. One 5863. She also won the National title in the

400 Im four 1040. In those races , feels like you can just never really count her out. That young lady is as good as it gets. Nagy finished fourth yesterday in the 200 fly behind Rorich week and Duncan at the first touch. Celina Schmidt 29.88 and week, then Conover then running Dallas

The top four in the middle of the pool. It’s a bit of a disappointing morning for Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion Jordan Tierney had a feeling she might be part of this race. She was seated at two minutes, 14.68, but this morning, two 1857 did not swim

Well enough to even get in the B final tonight, so the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference pins all their hopes on Nagy, Conover leads, then Schmidt, then Ronning, Dahl followed by week torrent, Brugata, Kohli, Machado and Nagy in that order. Nicely done. Lane five Celina Schmidt again the top national

Seed coming in. Schmidt has gone as low as two. 1107 she’s got a good race coming here because Claire Conover is just not going to give in. How fun is this? Five from the Great Lakes Valley Conference swimming for a national title. And it’s pretty clear at the moment that the top

Two are coming from the Glvc. Will it be from Drury or Indianapolis? Who wants it more? Salina Schmidt. Claire Conover Schmidt with a few yards to go. Glide her way to the national title. Two 1082. I actually wonder if there was an issue with the timing pad for Conover.

There’s no way she was a full second behind there. That was a bit odd. Either way, an obvious win for Celina Schmidt with Conover in second and Drury goes two three, eight two. National championships huge for the Panthers. Running Dall in fifth place to score some valuable points for the sharks. Keene

State Holy Names. Marshall All right. We are ready for the consolation final of the men’s 200 yard breaststroke. Let’s meet our swimmers here in Lane one. Senior from UIndy, Braden Cole in Lane two, a senior from IUP. The Crimson Hawks. Thanos Diamantidis in lane three, a senior from Findlay Marco

Prodicus, Lane four, a sophomore from Missouri SNT Connor Bissell, Lane five, a freshman from Colorado. Mesa Marcos Otero, Lane six, a senior from Missouri SNT Noah Clancy, Lane, seven, a freshman from Lewis. Ahmed Ismail and Lane eight, a junior from Henderson State. Mark Eberhard Cole, Daemen Titus Penix, Vishal Otero, Clancy

Ismail and Eberhard. How good was the Great Lakes Valley Conference this year? Well, if you look at the top nine nine performers in this event in the glvc, eight of them are swimming tonight at the national championship up. That is unbelievable. All four of I should say, three of them are

Coming up in the championship final here shortly. Eight guys in the glvc went sub two minutes in this race. That’s pretty impressive. Depth across the conference. Tied for first. Otero and Clancy. Lanes five and six were exactly 5617. All right. Third to fourth in lane two. Diamond Titus. The all time

Division two national record belongs to Anton Lobanov. From Nova Southeastern, set nine years ago. One 5171. That would be pretty surprised if we saw someone touch that here tonight. Little separation. Now, perhaps. Otero out in front. Vishal in second. Third. Eberhard fourth to Clancy at that last touch pad

. Nicely done. Middle of the pool. Vishal is hanging tough. Otero is there. Marcos Otero from Colorado Mesa with the Mavericks fans on their feet. Long, quick, powerful strokes. Who wants it underneath the water most? It is close. It is bicycle. One 5691 about a 10th in front of Otero. Connor.

Bicycle wins the B-Final. Come on down . At this point, as Vishal looks around. At least he’s enjoying himself. Was that Noah Clancy, it was actually Clancy. That’s funny, Clancy and Vishal both had good swims there. Clancy and, Ismail finished tied fourth. That’s great. At this point, it may be difficult for

Drury to catch Tampa coming into this race. The lead is 66 points for the Spartans. Tampa has one swimmer in the A final here. Drury has two. So they theoretically could make up a little ground and still have the relay and still have the potential of a DQ. But gosh,

That’s that’s just that’s almost an unthinkable thought. So Tampa feeling pretty good as long as they can swim their races cleanly, regardless of where they finish. All right. Championship finalists. Here we go. Freshman from Grand Valley State in lane one. The Gliac champion Andrew go in lane two. The top national qualifier from

Nova Southeastern Oswego State Marina in lane three. Third championship final for Drury Junior Darby Murano third at the conference meet the Mac champions in lane four. He is the champion in this event from 2022 and you’re defending runner up, a junior from Oklahoma Christian. JT Emerson. That was Felipe Pinheiro who just waved

To the crowd. This is his fourth year in a row swimming in the A final at the national meet. He was the national champion as a true freshman for the Bearcats in 2021. Pinero, the runner up at conference. He lost to the guy in lane six. Joel Noguiera,

Who this year got into the A final after last year not getting out of prelims. Lane seven. Another local product from Warren, Ohio, which is about an hour away from here. Jared Mindich Howland High School, a junior from Tampa, had a great swim this morning. PR by 1.35 seconds and Miles Schultz,

A junior for Ouachita Baptist, is in lane eight. He is the new South Conference champion this season. Go Marina Murao Amrin Pinero, Nogueira, Minnick and Schultz. Some conference champions in the water. You always like seeing guys that can and women who can go at the national meet try to back up

What they did in their conference. It’s always a lot of fun. Boy, these guys are making serious moves here early in the race. I expect that this could be a pretty fast race. We’ll be surprised if we see major separation. 750 in the books. And this thing is awfully tight.

Look at that. 2603 for Amerine 26 15, 2622 2627 those are your top four marks. Not a lot of separation at all. Amran Morales, Pinero and Mendick. That’s only the one quarter mark though. Down and back they go again. The defending champion is a Findlay Oiler, Juan Daniel

Garcia Ruiz. No Oilers in the A final after Chroniques swam in the B final. We have a change at the top and Nico Marina from Nova Southeastern 5534. That’s a little bit faster than Pinero, who was 1/100 in front of University of Louisiana Monroe, who was about 7/100 in front of

Amerine Marina in lane two. Made a little push there over that last 50. Can he keep it up? Officials pacing the length of the pool. Look how tight this thing is up front. Five guys still have a chance down and back one more time. Tied for first, Pinero and Marina, both

At one 2520. Everybody seems that they’re in. At least the guys in the front are all sub 30 on their splits. Marina and two University of Louisiana Monroe and three Emerson. And for Pinero and five Noguiera and six who’s going to win the national championship in the men’s 200 yard breaststroke? It’s too

Close to call. Maybe Amrine can he get it done? For the second time in his career? It’s close. It is. J.T. Amrine one 5466. Look at how close this race was. J.T. Amrein the 20, 22 and 2024 national champion in the 200 breaststroke, one of the best finishes of the week. Wow.

Amrine popped up for that extra stroke. And still he just out touched Davi Morales at the wall. There. Denison. Cameron one 5466. Noguiera one 5472. Morales one 5475. What a race! He’s That’s also a good reason to celebrate for Tampa, because Jared Mindich just scored 13 points for the Spartans, who are

Now sitting on 439 points as a team while Drury is sitting at 393. It’s a 46 point lead going into relays. Obviously, there’s 21 schools that will compete in the relays and they’re the relays are all worth double. But what that means for Tampa. The most amount of points you can

Score in a relay is 40. And so even if Tampa, Dqs, that officially wraps it up, Tampa Spartans on the men’s side are going to win the national championship this year. Outstanding. Congratulations to Tampa. On the women’s side, they still have diving to go in addition to having the 400 free

Relay. While Nova Southeastern lead on the ladies side is not massive, you got to wait and see exactly how this shakes out. It’s probably all that Colorado Mesa will come up a little short , but let’s wait and see because Mesa did send several divers here to the national

Championship meet. To the podium now where they’re handing out trophies in the women’s 200 yard backstroke. Baylor and your 2024 national champion and the women’s 200 yard backstroke with a time of one 5530 from Colorado Mesa Agana Nazarene . We need our Tampa athletes. Our men’s 200 yard backstroke.

Tampa. Top eight finishers to the awards area. Here’s your top 16 finishers in our men’s 200 yard backstroke. In 16 plays from Wingate nation Hawaii Hilo and 15 plays from Nova Southeastern Gustav Hendrickson in 14th place from Simon Fraser. Thomas Caruso in 13th place from Drury. Alvaro Zornoza Quiroz. In 12th place

This concludes the women’s one meter diving Championships . Manchester. Oh. That’s terrific. Congratulations to Maddie Kooistra from Grand Valley State

University, 2024 national champion on women’s one meter diving. Needed to kind of hold her breath at the end there. Alexa Ganzi needed 50.45 on that last dive, but was not able quite to get that high. So Kooistra wins. Michaela Sanchis finishes in second, then it’s Ganzi in third. By the way, last

Year’s champion, Luna Castellano from Clarion finished in fifth. So a one meter diving championship has concluded. And as soon as we get the official results on the live scoring system, we’ll share with you exactly what that looks like. It should mean that Nova Southeastern is going to win the national championship, but want

To wait and confirm that. Pretty cool moment for the Lakers with Maddie winning the national title. There Gracyn Segard from Grand Valley State was so impressive as the diver won the one meter national title 21 and 22. She also won on three meter back in 2021. Grand Valley said some sensational divers Michaela

Karasek, also a national champ on three meter as the Lakers continue to keep on building a winning tradition. National championship in diving. Every year, the public address announcer is asking for all of the timers to come on back because it is time to start the final event of the weekend. The

400 yard freestyle relays. Tampa Spartans have already clinched the national championship on the men’s side as a team, and so this race is certainly going to be fun. And they’re going to try to win the race. Tampa is swimming in that final heat, but . They know that they’re going

To be the team champs at the end of the night no matter what. And now the results are official on the ladies side with men’s team scores include Nova Southeastern 457, Colorado Mesa four 21.5. That means it is possible, but far from likely, that Nova Southeastern is going to stumble

Here. 35.5 points separating the sharks and the Mavericks. Considering that relays are worth double. Essentially what what they need here is there’s one outcome and only one outcome. A win in the relay for Colorado Mesa and a disqualification win in the relay from Nova Southeastern. That is the only way that

Colorado Mesa will win the team national championship. This year. Otherwise, Nova Southeastern ladies will repeat with a three heat time final in both the men and women’s 400 free relays. So the ladies side we will begin with Delta State Findlay and Northern Michigan. NMU Best Time of the year three

2557 was not good enough to qualify for nationals on its own accord, but they took third at the conference meet. Same situation for Delta State. They did not qualify on time for National championships at the Delta State Christmas Invite. They went three 2535, but they were the new South runner up

This year. That said, Findlay, the great Midwest Mountain East Conference champions. Seems they are testing the timing pads because there’s a little discrepancy here. A lot of the fans are slowly piling back into their seats. Why don’t you enjoy the final bit of action here for the night?

So as soon as that gets situated, we’ll get started. But it’ll be Delta State and Lane three, Findlay and four and Northern Michigan and five. It seems that we may have a bit of a delay as the NCAA official heads over and tells the ladies, hey, hang tight. So while they

Try to get it situated down to the timing table, we’ll step aside here too. And as soon as we have an update, we’ll bring it to you to wrap up the meet here tonight. Yo Well, thankfully, that wasn’t a particularly long delay, and we’re ready to go in this first

Of three heats. Into the pool. They go for Delta State in lane three. Michaela cloth for Findlay in lane four, Sydney Jones. And for Northern Michigan in lane five. It’s Carlotta Santi Santi, just a freshman a chance to swim in the National championship meet. That’s a pretty big deal. Great

Experience for a young swimmer here this week. All right Findlay leads the way 2457 about two point or I should say .21 in front of Delta State. And then are you hanging in there? Swimmers are on the blocks. Second leg ready to go in. Findlay out front, 5169. They

Lead by almost 3/10. Daniella Troy Grubbs and Meritxell Fonte Cantarero. Swimming along the top of the water. They’re pretty much stride for stride, stroke for stroke with one another. But Delta State and Findlay pretty tight. Perhaps a change of lead is upon us. Findlay still hanging strong. And the third leg goes in.

Aleksandra melnyk, Hannah Murray and Zoe de Kievit. As unlikely as it would be, it is possible to win a national championship out of this first heat. Certainly, if you put up a good enough time, you could find your way onto the podium. Even if you don’t win the national title

Itself. See what Findlay does. I would expect the Oilers to be first based on what we’ve seen this year, but frankly, the best from each of these three schools is all fairly close to each other. Perhaps Northern Michigan has a strong anchor coming from Camila Carbone. That’s Melnik then Murray, then McKevitt.

Anchor legs on the way in. Findlay with Sophia LeMay. Delta state with Julia Santiago and Northern Michigan has Camila Carbone. Carbone is a terrific freestyler. The lead is actually just about a full body length right now for Findlay as Sophia LeMay, the freshman, goes down and back as fast as she can.

Here come the Oilers. Findlay will post the time to beat. It is three minutes, 26.02 seconds. That’s about a second slower than their conference championship mark from a few weeks back, but still an admirable swim for Jones, Grubbs, Melnyk and LeMay. Nicely done. All right. Time for

Heat two, and we’ll have a full pool here . Lane one is a fifth place finisher from a couple of years ago. Simon Frazier, the runner up in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Here in 2024. Cal State East Bay champions in the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference there in lane two, the Gliac champs

Are in lane three. Wayne State Warriors with some really good upperclassmen in this race. Augustana (South Dakota. They won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. They’re in lane four after just missing a qualifying mark to get them in the A final. But the Vikings have a really good team.

They might just be the ones out of this time final to find their way out to the podium. We’ll see if they can earn All-American honors next to them in lane five. West Chester. Golden Rams sixth last year, third two years ago. West Florida is in sixth. They won the New South Gliac

Runner up is in eight Grand Valley State and your defending national champions in lane seven UIndy Greyhounds. Although they were third at the conference meet this year. Abigail Williams, Brooklyn Dressel, Barbara munoz, Brynn Greenwald, Michaela Neyens, Sydney Lewis Bennett, Trott’s daughter, and Kirsten Harmon. Bottom to top of

The pool. Good work there from Augustana, Greenwald has been impressive. Really enjoyed watching her swim this week. That young lady’s been pretty terrific. Feeling some heat there down on the bottom from Abigail Williams. Simon Fraser Augustana (South Dakota) quarter mark. There they are. It’s Simon Fraser just barely out touching

Them at the first exchange. Melissa Whitmore, Delaney Carlson, Jordan Fox, Michelle Montgomery, Samantha Trumbull, Brooke D’aw, Andrea Gomez Espinosa and Tina Winter from bottom to top on your screen. How about Delaney Carlson from Cal State East Bay? She has them right in the hunt here. They’re in third place. It’s technically

A dead tie. How about that one 1416 the last touch for Simon Fraser and Augustana. Lane one Lane four leading the way. Lane two is in third place. Lanes five and six West Chester West Florida both hanging tough. Simon Fraser appears to have a small lead right now. Montgomery

Closing well. Whitmore two and into the pool. They go. It’s Kayla Holder for Simon Fraser, Olivia Parham for CSU East Bay. Sabin Branford for Wayne State, Makoa Montgomery of Augustana. You’re watching McKenzie Hemingway of West Chester, Nina Imboden of West Florida, Isabella Wright State from Inde and Annabelle Nixon for Grand

Valley at the top. Simon Fraser lead over Augustana is very small. Less than a second third place to West Chester fourth to West Florida. Right now that means Cal State East Bay is fading. They’re in lane two. Carlson swam great. Parham has slowed down a little bit, but

Tulane Kong was getting ready to go in for. East Bay is an excellent freestyler to anchor Simon Fraser trying to post the top time going into the third and final race. It’s Tori McClintock to Honey Kong, Allison Vasilakos Amaya Street, Keely Durkin, Amy Patterson, Kirabo Namutebi and Lucy Headley

Mutebi in lane seven. Look at the ground. She’s already made up for the Greyhounds. Namutebi is the 50 freestyle national champion this year and UIndy just went 2325. Not even close. That is way faster than everybody else in the pool. But she had a long way to go. Simon

Fraser still leads West Florida second. West Chester third. Will we see some rotation here? Namutebi losing a little bit of ground still Simon Fraser excellent swim from the west. Florida Argonauts Simon Fraser the new time to beat three 2172 with West Florida coming in second. The Red Leafs three

2172. 82 is official. What a swim! Best one they had this year was three, 2453, and they were almost three seconds faster. I’ll tell you what three 2172 based on the seed times, you can pretty much chalk it up. I would be stunned if Simon Fraser is not somewhere on the

Podium, as all Americans. That is a great time for them. Three 2366 for West Florida. Also a really good swim. We’ll see if the new South champs are on the podium. Two in the meantime, it’s time for our third and final heat. It appears we will have a new national champion

This year. I suppose that’s now official because UIndy did not win that second heat. So who’s it going to be? Lane one is Carson-Newman South Atlantic Conference champs, Lane two Lynn Fighting Knights champions in the Sunshine State Wingate third. A year ago, they had a great mark at the Queen’s fall

Frenzy. That was their best of the year. They were runner up at the SAC top qualifying team in the country is in lane four, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champions from Colorado Mesa Drury in lane five, Drury, the Glvc champs this year. McKendree in lanes seven. The Glvc runner up Tampa

In Lane eight. Tampa third in the Sunshine State League and in lane six. It’s Nova Southeastern. We introduced them last because there might be the last one standing here at the end of the week. The sharks runner up at the conference meet. They have a 35.5 point lead coming into this event. The

Winning team scores 40 points. The second place team scores 34 points. That means that as long as Nova Southeastern finishes somewhere in the top 16, they’re going to win the national championship over Colorado. Mesa Kennedy King, Malika Schneider, Nina Azarova I got to Nazareth Ashland Moore, Amelia Rozendaal, Jocelyn Ziggler, and Isabelle

Sehring. It’s been an amazing week for the Mavericks from Colorado Mesa, and it’s been a slightly better week for the Nova Southeastern Sharks. All comes down to this race. It’s very close. Drury in the lead, then Mesa followed by Nova Southeastern second leg in the pool. Kriseman and Alexa Lundell, Amanda Wenhold, Ada

Quinnell, Josie Bushel, Maria Goncalves, Kaylee Sonnenberg and Tilden Morin. Good racing going on there in the middle lane for lane five. Colorado Mesa and Drury both look good. Just a small lead right now for Drury. 0.17. Here comes Wingate, there goes Nova Southeastern on. Oh Riviera Sharks fan right now, as

Much as you want to win the race, you’re hoping like crazy that everybody just does what they’re supposed to. Good strokes all the way around. Good kicks, good turns. Just swim a clean race. Drury leads, then Wingate, then Colorado Mesa. The third leg. Emma bowling Luna mertens, Lucinda Andrews, Ellie

Williams, Lexi Waller, Maya Esparza, Gabriella Novi and Sierra Gillen. Good separation there from Drury in lane five. Drury Panthers, the conference champions in the Great Lakes Valley Conference this year. As a team, Drury has also had a really good meet. The Panthers are solidly in third place here this weekend, but they’re trying

To close it in style. Look at this race. Lanes three, four, five are dead even. Oh my goodness. Very little separation. Mesa Wingate Drury. Here we go. Antonia. Saint Laura Deconnick, Natalia Dworzak Lauren white, Mellie week, Emily Trieschmann, Alexis Kashkin. Roma Verhoff I know Nova Southeastern was in fourth, but

When trashman’s in the pool, you better pay attention to the sharks. Can she swim this final 50 fast enough? Colorado Mesa in lane four. Lauren White is so good. The fifth year senior wants nothing more than to go out with a title. Mesa swimming like crazy. Drury’s coming hard.

Nova Southeastern is running out of time. Colorado Mesa won’t win the national title as a team, but they close with a victory in the 400 free relay. Drury in second, Wingate in third. They just made the announcement that it’s official. Colorado Mesa wins the 400 free relay for the Nova Southeastern

Sharks are your 2024 national champions. Thank you. Lauren. All right, all right. Well, you can see him partying on the top of your screen there. Nova Southeastern. They are celebrating the fact they just won the national championship. Two in a row going back to Fort Lauderdale. Congratulations to head coach

Ben Hewitt and his ladies. Unbelievable What an amazing performance this weekend. LED by Emily Schmidt. How fitting that she was the last one in the pool . Austin Peay Arizona . Oh Your top eight finalist for the women’s one meter. Diving in eighth place. The score of 398

.90 from Delta State. Tia Smith. Placing seventh with a score of 416 .40 from Clarion University. Kaitlin Madigan. In sixth place with a score of 419 .45 from West Florida, Adriana Sanchez. Fifth place, scoring 420 .55 from Clarion University. Luna Bejarano. In fourth place with a score of four 26.55 from West

Florida, Olivia Nelson. Your third place finisher with a score of 442 .90 from Clarion, Alexa Ganci. Your national runner up with a score of 451 .20 from Wayne State University. Michaela Sanchez. Presenting the award to the national champion, the head diving coach from Grand Valley, Steve Burciaga winning

Score of 463 .95 from Grand Valley Madison Kooistra. Big props to Maddie Kooistra from Grand Valley State women’s one meter diving national champion four 6395. Her total award, beating Michaela Sanchez and Alexa Ganzi . All right. Getting ready for the final event of the weekend, the men’s 400 yard freestyle relay.

The Tampa Spartans, as a team, have already clinched the national championship. No matter what happens in this race, Tampa is the top seed nationally. But this last heat, frankly, should be a ton of fun. And actually, before we do that, I should at least tell you the results for

The women. The. Since it’s a timed final Colorado Mesa Drury Wingate Nova Southeastern Simon Fraser Lynn West Florida West Chester. Those are your top eight schools, so Simon Fraser out of heat, two goes out and comes in fifth place overall. West Chester was in heat two, West Florida was in heat two.

Good for them all. A good swims here tonight. All right. Lane two is the Wayne State Warriors in lane three Missouri S and T Bulldogs from Wingate are in four. Lewis is in five and the Red Leafs Simon Fraser in lane six. Only Wingate and Lewis posted times fast enough to

Automatically qualify for this meet. Others have entered based on having enough guys here to swim the race. Best time for Lewis this year. Two 5846 actually, that’s Wingate’s best time as well. Lewis went fifth at the Great Lakes Valley Conference meet, behind McKendree, indie Drury and Missouri. S and T. Mohammed

Khalil Benajmin, our champion earlier today in the 1650, is decided after his Miles swim that he wants to sprint as fast as he can. So he’s in lane two. Aidan Walters, Manuel Silva, Ahmed Ismail and Marcus Mack all in the pool. That’s Marcus Mack for the Red Leafs. Admirable job

There from Benajmin. I can’t imagine having anything left in the tank at all at this point of the race. Trevor Jones, Noah Clancy, Mike Topp, Cornelius Davidson Vincent and Thomas Caruso all here. We saw Lewis a couple of nights ago open a lot of eyeballs in the 400 medley relay when Jacinto, Ismael,

Vincent and Semenov. Which is the same quartet here, just in a different order. They went out and shaved four seconds off of their season. Best time and finished third place nationally. Lewis has the lead at the halfway mark. Clayton Canard, Connor Bishop, Ney Chagas Filho, Nico Jacinto and Owen Nicholson

All in the pool. And right now the Lewis fliers have put a lot of distance between them and most of the competition. Let’s see if Chagas Hawaii Hilo can catch up in four. Holding his breath into that turn. Good job by Jacinto. His lead is now two body lengths. Okay, Lewis, you

Sufficiently have our attention. Lorenzo Tassinary, Adam Whitmire , Anton Witzel, Hayden Visscher, they all have to try to chase down Misha Semenov of the Lewis Fliers in a meet where you so often get looking at, times coming in and you feel like you have an idea of who can do what

Based on what they’ve done already. You don’t win titles on paper. It’s a great starting point. You got to go in the pool and earn it. And this quartet relay group for Lewis might be the most underrated group we’ve seen all weekend. What do they score? Two 5517 that is going to

Be a very competitive time. Two 5517 is more than three seconds faster than they’ve gone all season. Wingate in second. In heat one, his official two 5517 is 3.29 seconds better than Lewis has ever gone this season. I have to admit, I don’t think that’s going to be enough to win

The national title, but I’d be pretty surprised if that’s not a top eight finish. Outstanding for Lewis. Well done. Started to tell you earlier that Tampa is in good shape no matter what happens. They basically started the meet throwing haymakers. They got the pool and said, all

Right, we want to be the team to beat this week. And they went out and swam six, 20, 78 and the 800 free relay, and they took home the 40 points available to them on Tuesday night, UIndy won the 200 medley relay on Wednesday. On Thursday, it was McKendree in National record

Time, 307 11, and the 400 medley relay and then last night, Henderson State in the 200 freestyle relay. Here we go. Heat two Oklahoma Christian Carson-Newman Findlay, Northern Michigan, Saginaw Valley, Saint Cloud State, Florida Southern and West Chester. Carson-Newman won the South Atlantic Conference this year. Findlay champs in the Great Midwest.

Mount East West Chester Kings of the SAC. Into the pool they go in Lane one. Gabe, not Lane two. Daniel de Oliveira Camilo Marrugo Montano for Findlay in three. William Lacount in for Logan Fox in five. Ralph Hendrix in six. Nino Baylon in seven, and Nolan Benner in Lane eight. Up top.

First one to touch Findlay 2078 and you can feel Marrugo Montano that kid swims with a presence. So much fun to watch. De Oliveira from Carson-Newman trying to hang with him there in two, but Camilo has the lead for the Findlay Oilers four five, seven and eight all hanging

Tough two virtual tie but it is. Oh wow. How about that? Carson-Newman out touched him. Excellent. De Oliveira swam him down. Caleb Mercer Daniel Ribeiro, Santiago Artiaga Jeff LaRue, Eric Slabbert, Cade Rosenwald, Kyle Micallef and Joel Dunnigan. Who’s going to separate themselves here? This leg? How about Lane seven? The

Mocks from Florida Southern swimming toward the front. Micallef, a national champion earlier this week, taking his role very seriously. Lanes two, four and seven all strong Carson-Newman northern Michigan and Florida. Southern. It’s northern Michigan, just barely out front at that halfway point. Fair Messiah Beniah McDowell Tim Stollings, Gabriel Falcone Ole

Miss Ladakh Drake Silva Alcoba Brandon Wilson and Dalton Finke. Florida Southern swimming strong in seven best time this season for the mocs. Two 5818 Keene State. They posted that at the Florida Tech Panther Invitational. That was back in mid November. They’ve got the lead with Northern Michigan and Findlay certainly closing.

Carson-Newman lost a little ground there. Anchor legs, Josh Brammer, Arthur Glusman, Daggs Bridges, Leo Knowles, Alejandro Robles, Luis Mason Beck, John Ziegler and Devin Metzger. Here comes Northern Michigan in. The Wildcats at the front. The mocs are not going away quietly. Time to beat two 5517 Keene State

Northern Michigan to the wall in two 5426 Pace Florida Southern two 5546. They’re in second. And. So that means overall, the Lewis fliers are sitting in second place across the two heats, but the new time to beat belongs to the Northern Michigan Wildcats. What a swim! Two 5426. William Lookout, Jeff LaRue,

Gabriel Falcone and Leo Knowles. And so we come to the final swim of the weekend. Marcel Snitko and Nova Southeastern in lane one. But they come up with something special trying to match the energy that their women just set a little bit ago when they clinched a team national championship for the

Second straight year, Snitker was the 50 freestyle champion. He’ll swim the opening leg in lane one. McKendree in two, guiding the Glvc champions Colorado Mesa the Mavericks in three winners at the Rocky Mountain Conference this year. The top qualifier nationally is in lane four. They are your national champions. The Tampa

Spartans Henderson State do not sleep on the red wave, especially with the first two guys they got in the pool and Lamar Taylor and Jack Armstrong, champions in the Gliac from Grand Valley State and six, the Glvc runner up to McKendree is UIndy there in seven. And that same conference in lane eight.

The Drury Panthers, third in the league. Last year at this national championships, McKendree won the race. UIndy was second. Tampa came in third, Henderson State fourth, and it was Drury Carson-Newman Grand Valley and Wingate. Those are your returning All-Americans in the pool. Two years ago it was Queens on top. Three straight

Years, in fact, we’ve had different winners. Who’s going to get it done? Two 5426 that’s the threshold. The final swim in national championship weekend. Off and going. Marcel Snitko, Alireza Yavari, Jameson McEnany, Ian Cooper, Lamar Taylor, Roger Roger, Marisela, Jaron Thompson and Yuri Cabral across all four

Legs. We have a whole bunch of guys in this pool that have won individual national championship chips. History tells us Henderson State is going to be in good shape here early, because Lamar Taylor is a borderline cheat code for the red wave. Got to go out and execute though. They were in

First place with Tampa second third, two Nova Southeastern here comes UIndy in seven. At the moment though, Lamar Taylor looks pretty solid in five.
