I’ll just start with the blurb regarding this course from Tgctours.com:
“Innovative architectural and landscaping techniques ensure that The Plains Of Africa Golf Club and living areas are naturally protected from animals, while lakes and small streams have been diverted through the development to create scenic vistas and interesting golf strategies. Golfing hazards take on a new dimension at The Plains Of Africa Golf Club, for much of the water is home to the magnificent creatures for which the river is named, crocodiles. Extensive use has been made of water features and sightings of crocodile, hippo, antelope, buffalo and elephant are commonplace, on the course or in the Kruger Park bordering the course. The Plains Of Africa Golf Club, designed by Matthew Jacques, is an 18-hole par-72 Cart course, Built in and around stone and African Plains, this immaculate golfing paradise conforms to the stringent US PGA specifications.”
This may be one of the best new courses I have played. Interesting holes, elevation changes (but nothing crazy), and awesome, very large greens. I’ll have to check out some of the other pin positions.
I had a great front nine, including an eagle hole out on 7, but slowed down on the back (was missing in the wrong places).
Leave a like for M. Jacques! It’s amazing what some of these guys can do!
