It’s an exciting day at Paul Kelly Golf as the newest driver to arrive is mine. I do an unboxing and discuss this particular head, shaft and grip. Thanks for watching. PLAY BETTER GOLF.
Hi I’m Paul welcome to Paul Kelly golf today is a very special day for me I got a new driver in now I’ve been doing the unboxing and the uh online stuff for other people’s clubs coming in but when I get mine in it’s exciting for me so today I’m
Unwrapping my new Callaway AI smoke Max driver and I’m going to go over all the components and why I choose those components and what do for me and why I have it set up the way that I do so let’s get into it so the first thing comes out is the AI head
Cover nice and flashy stands out very nice cway always does a nice job on their head covers AI smoke Paradigm so here’s the head cover as a Callaway staff professional I get to choose my equipment in the beginning of the year and when I order
My clubs I always order the grip in the box or the grip not installed because I like to put them on a certain way I’ve got a Golf Pride MCC midsize align and for me with the Align I align them off just slightly off center so that it
Promotes a little bit of a stronger grip it’s something I’ve done all the way going back to the Tor velvet ribed I’d always put my grips on a little bit sideways uh just just a tiny little bit sideways so that they feel to me they’re a little bit more stronger grip so
That’s the grip that I’ll put on later on now the magic piece here we have Callaway AI smoke Max 9 degre it comes in a nine and a 10 and a half 10 is proven to be best for me so I order the nine and I turn it up one
Degree to 10 that also helps me kind of draw the ball a little bit because when you add Loft you slightly slightly the face a little bit and then I add a d setting to it for draw now the D setting is basically making it more upright and
As a taller golfer I’m 65 anything that can bring my club a little bit more upright in the driver is going to help me balance out that flight so it’s not that I’m looking for the draw setting in this it’s just that that draw setting makes it upright makes a little bit
Easier for me to kind of keep the club at where I wanted at impact now shaft wise Project X hazardous already X blue with the PVD finish so this is kind of a limited premium shaft that really nice glossy blue finish that’s different from the regular RDX blue and the RDX blue is
A counterbalance shaft so it’s a little bit heavier up on the butt and it’s a mid Bend shaft so basically the BT is really stiff the tip is really stiff so it gives me that stability but I feel it load so if you imagine it’s like a a a
Compound Bowl I can pull it back and I can feel it Bend I can feel it load but the tip is ultra stable and it gives me a low flight low spin which is really what I like here in the wind so this shaft’s been in my bag for the past
Several years and it’s going to take something really special to knock it out because for me it just feels perfect for what I like so I’ve got the head I’ve got the shaft and I got the grip that I like and I know it’s going to work
Because I had the demo in my hand when I went to Cuba and I took my shaft which is the same shaft I put it in this head and I hit the ball absolutely fantastic it did everything that I wanted it’s an amazing club and I can’t wait to put
This in play the summer folks if you want to get fit for something so that we get everything optimized for you give me a call let me walk you through a fitting there’s a wide variety of heads and shafts and settings that we can go through that will find the best ball

You can see the happiness of receiving a new driver! Congrats and great vid!
nice, nothing like unboxing a new driver ! i was custom fit late last year for TSR3 with HZDRS red CB 6.0 50gram shaft. how much different is the blue RDX to the red CB ? i know mine has 4.8 deg torque so im assuming it has a softer tip section. a CB shaft works best for me. i had TSR2 with similar shaft prior to TSR3, and a TM 2016 M2 prior to that which had a smoke yellow CB shaft.
