Hey guys welcome back to the channel today we’re going to go what’s currently in my bag what I’m currently gaming and we’re going to be talking about some ways that I’m going to be switching out some things in my bag because can I’ve been playing these clubs for close to 10
Years now so there’s definitely some improvements that can be made and especially when I’m trying to get to scratch I’m going to need every Edge that I can get and guys if you’re new here my name is chonger and I’m an average golfer with the goal of trying
To get to scratch documenting my Journey on YouTube so if you’re not already hit that subscribe button and follow along with me on this journey all right so let’s start with the putter first this is actually the only thing that I’ve upgraded so far and this was actually
Quite an easy decision for me because my fiance at the time got me this as an engagement gift so shout out to her this is the Scotty Cameron Phantom x5.5 now I was golfing on the weekend and my friend said this looked like a cyber truck and
Now can’t unsee this but I love the look of this putter so before I was playing an odyssey White Hot Pro a blade putter but I made the change to a mallet I tried the Newport too uh but I was just getting better results with the Mallet
Style and so at the end of the day I’m going to choose something that gives me the best result and I really do love the look of this putter for me I didn’t really quite like the look of other Mallet Putters and I think that was why
I didn’t initially make the switch but I love the look of this Putter and it’s encouraging me to want to practice putting more and thereby I’m just becoming a better putter also helps that I’ve had a putting lesson now and I feel way more confident with this flat stick
So yeah can’t complain about that and one thing that I really love about this is the thicker grip super comfortable I would definitely recommend you guys to go get fitted for putter this is probably the best thing that I have in my bag right now all right so moving
Along to the wedges these are from Cleveland the 588 RTX as you can see they are pretty worn right now I’ve had these for ages so I’m definitely going to be needing to get some new wedges soon so when I first got these wedges I
Went into GF town I I just picked them up off the rack and to be honest I just picked them because I like the colorway I like the black wedges I just tried to equally space my Lofts so I got a 52 and a 58 but now I know that there’s way
More things to consider when buying a wedge you need to be looking at the grind the bounce and also the Loft as well too so when I do get some new wedges I’m going to be getting fit for them and that’s definitely needed because as you would have saw in a
Previous video I just hit my wedges and there is some gapping discrepancies and so with some new wedges I’ll hopefully be able to dial in those distances better and also getting some new grooves will help with the spin so hopefully that’ll help with my short game and I’m
Excited to be implementing some new wedges coming soon so for my irons I have the tidalist ap2 714s I love these irons I love the way that they feel the only reason why I’m considering getting new irons is because these are a regular shaft and just based on my swing speed
Now I should be playing a stiff shaft but I think changing out the stiff shaft will definitely help and also I haven’t got the Loft and lies relooked at since I bought these clubs ages ago and I think with forged clubs you’re supposed to be looking at them every so often so
I’m going to be needing to rehaul these irons anyways so if I were to change out the shafts and everything like that that’ll be like 5 600 bucks so at that point I might as well just try and sell these irons and then buy a new pair
Potentially even just like a last year’s pair so I can get some discounts the reason why I picked the ap2s and and maybe I wasn’t even necessarily good enough to play them at the time was I didn’t like the look of chunky irons I liked having a thinner Top Line and
Obviously I was nowhere good enough to play blades I’m still not good enough to play blades uh so I thought this was a happy medium I like how if you Mish hit the ball you can kind of feel it so it doesn’t give you a false sense of
Security that you know you’re hitting the ball good when you really aren’t and so that’s what I think with some of the game improvement irons them being thicker and chunkier sure they help you launch the ball better but you’re not really getting that feedback and so I
Think when you’re first starting out it might be a good idea to play um you know some more player irons I think that can definitely help improve your game faster all right so moving along to the hybrids so my irons go from pitching wedge to five iron and then I have the four
Hybrid and a three hybrid so on my lower end of my bag with the hybrids and the woods that’s something I’m looking to get reconfigured I’m actually going to be going for a driving and wood fitting soon so then we can determine which which clubs will be best fit on the
Lower end of my bag that doesn’t mean that I’m going to be upgrading them all at once just because it is quite expensive you know definitely don’t have the money for that right now but just to kind of get that information and then when I do decide to pull the trigger on
Something then yeah I’ll have a better idea of what i’ be looking for so I’m not really too sure if I want to stay with this hybrid wood configuration or if I want to get like a three-wood and fivewood then play one hybrid or maybe even just play like a utility iron yeah
I’m not really too sure just from what I’ve been told from my coach just these current hybrids they’re less forgiving I guess just the way that they’re shaped The Sweet Spot is smaller but to be honest I mean I don’t really have that much of an issue to hit these hybrids
But like all of my clubs in my bags so far these have a regular shaft as well so uh definitely if anything I would need to be changing out to something with a stiffer shaft but as of now I don’t think the hybrids are a big
Priority for me to change out but I think I can make do with what I have so far all right so moving along to the ferwood this is the RBZ 3hl so it’s like a fourwood with a 17° Loft regular shaft like everything else so definitely need
Something a bit stiffer now the reason why I got a Forwood at the time was because I couldn’t count properly I actually thought that I had 14 clubs in my bag so I couldn’t get a three and five wood at the time well that’s what I
Got at least uh so that’s why I got the four kind of in between three and five but I do definitely notice that there is some gapping issues between the driver and this so I’m thinking I do need a 3-wood and then what comes after that I
Don’t know but yeah I don’t really use this club too much not the best right now at hitting Woods off the deck I’d rather hit my hybrid and if I’m looking for a shorter t-shot not my driver I feel like my three hybrid can go just as
Good as this so I would rather hit the hybrid where I feel like I have a bit more control so so this club I guess doesn’t really see much love in the bag but I am wanting to fall in love with some woods so hopefully with that driver
And wood fitting I’ll find something that works good for me all right so moving along to the big stick we got the tailor made RBZ in the 10 and 1/2 Dee Loft I don’t know too much about shafts but this is the xcon 5 regular stock
Shaft I think that just means it’s 50 g but either way it’s too light too whippy so I don’t feel confident off the te swinging this as hard as I can I don’t feel like I can control the club face so that’s why we’re going to be moving into
Something a bit stiffer I’ve been trying a bunch of new drivers both with my coach we did a little driver fitting and I’ve also tried them at golf town and I found this local Vancouver store that actually lets you take the drivers out and hit them at the range but I’ve been
So indecisive but I decided okay now’s the time we got to pick something so I booked a fitting with the tailor made rep so we’re going to going with tailor made drivers and woods so I’m looking forward to getting a new driver that’s definitely the top priority on my list
Right now I feel like having more consistent t- shots will set me up in better positions because the penalty Strokes definitely do kill me so if I can find more Fairways that’s definitely going to be helping my game so that’s all the clubs in my bag and now as you
Can see there’s definitely a lot of things that I want to change out but realistically I can’t afford to change out all all of it at once so we got to be strategic with what we do and so the first thing I’m going to be getting is
The driver now my other concern though is if I’m playing a stiffer shaft in my driver my irons being regular Flex it’ll feel a bit different so I’m not sure how that will impact timing and the feel of my irons I do want to then change up my
Irons but that’s where it’s a bit tough for me because irons are pretty expensive if I do change out the shafts of the irons it definitely is cheaper but then I feel like if I’m already spending that much money I might as well just get new iron sets uh so we’ll
Definitely try and find a way that we can do this strategically and and on a budget uh but yeah I’m thinking definitely driver and irons the woods it would be nice to have but I don’t think it’s the biggest priority so we’re going to leave that to probably later on uh
Definitely the wedges though the scoring clubs I think that is also something that should prioritize as well one getting the gapping good so changing it up from the 58 and 52 to change it to like a 50 and a 55 or a 56 and then a 60
I think that would be good for my short game and the putter we don’t need to touch I love this thing all right let’s just go quickly over some of the accessories I have in my bag and to be honest I haven’t really gone through my
Bag that much so yeah we’ll see what’s in store for us all right so first we have my golf shoes now these still look brand new cuz I’ve only played these inside in the simulator shout out to my wife she found the at the local golf
Store 40% off so who doesn’t love a good deal and so these are spikeless my other shoes had spikes so we’ll see how they compare and if I like Spike or spikeless let me know which shoes do you like the best okay I have some masking tape in my bag
I don’t know why I have that I think maybe I might have been shipping something out or something like that but actually funny enough I’ve been looking for some masking tape for what cuz I watch this Bryson the Shambo video putting tape on the ground to help with
Some contact so we can do some drills with this tape so we’re actually going to keep this back in the bag I have a pair of sunglasses these are only reserved for sports how come you never wear in these before you look like a true golfer good
Thing about the Oakleys is you can change up the lenses so I just have the default blacks but you can get some cool colored lenses and stuff so maybe we might change out this golf season you look like you went to the dentist you know how they give you those glasses we
Have some spikes I wish I actually knew I had these in my bag because the spikes on my old shoes are worn out we have a iron or we have a Groove cleaner I have this too this would be good because uh got to be cleaning the grooves on your
Wedges it looks like a worn out toothbrush for the te’s we have the 3 and one4 length I like the ones that have like a line so that way when you put the tea into the ground you know that it’s the correct height every time so that help help with consistency for
Balls I’ve been playing a couple but lately the Titus Pro V1 I’ve gotten a lot of these as gifts fortunately I haven’t had to pay for these myself cuz these are quite expensive um when I have had the bot balls I bought these actually I got these as a gift too so I
Haven spoiled so I actually haven’t bought golf balls in a while but I love these balls they look cool and they also have a line to help with putting so who doesn’t like help with putting so we have the golf glove actually this is my
Wife’s this is my golf glove so we got a matching pair trying to get her into golf so the best way to do that is with accessories and then I also have these ones these winter gloves so in Vancouver it gets pretty cold so I use these on
The weekend definitely help me from not freezing my hands off but if I were to get another pair I’d actually get the rain ones because they help with the grip this just is more with the cold I got you those too you’re spoiled look at
All the stuff I got you from your golf bag he needs so I got some vadil this is just a spare because we have so many at home because whenever an allergy I just go to a local drugstore like Costco this time actually and I just buy new benad
Drill so now we have so many so I just keep this in my golf bag and and I have these I don’t know what they’re actually called the official name but you know when you’re supposed to fix the ball mark on the green and some ball markers for putting so that’ll
