Hey everybody we’re here with State tranquilo we got Camilo Vias here we’re here at the beautiful Puerto Rico open thank you for taking the time today we got to ask you a few questions last week at the at the cognizant what what was your thoughts about the tournament over
In West Palm Beach last week good it’s always good to play at home sleep in my own bed and uh golf course was a not as hard as previous years that second round was H was pumping but then they got the rain on Sunday unfortunately but yeah they
Finished the tournament it was I think it was a good turnout it was nice to see cognizant come in and sign a seven-year deal on a tournament that has been there forever and um yeah looking forward now here in Puerto Rico obviously H I guess we’re speaking English here but a lot of
Spanish which is nice and good food and just good energy so I like it here it’s it’s a good spot and I’m looking forward to a little windy week it is very Wy out here and what um what’s your kind of thoughts on the Puerto Rico open
Obviously we spoke about it kind of a little bit last week but growing the game of the golf amongst the Latino Community what does a tournament like this do to kind of help give that opportunity yeah I said it last week and I think the most important thing is for
For for the young kids to kind of see us in person and um I had a chance to do it a few times growing up and I always always kind of lit a fire in me and it kind of motivated me to just kind of
Accomplish my goals and uh I saw a lot of Latin names playing this week that’s that’s that’s very good I saw there was a lot of sponsor exceptions and they went to a lot a bunch of Latin players I love that ER why because it’s this is
This is kind of our territory and it’s nice to give those guys an opportunity to just perform and and show themselves and and accomplish their dreams absolutely Fitness also is a very big part of your yeah kind of your routine right can you talk a little bit about what that
Routine looks like obviously you’re playing a lot of golf but there’s a lot lot of recovery you know there’s a lot of physical aspect that goes into the game so how does that process look like yeah days are longer than people think there’s there’s a routine there’s a
Process and H Fitness is part of it for me it’s it’s been for a long time now it’s kind of my lifestyle and yeah I’ll actually finish practicing right now and I’ll go a do a little do a little workout I’ll throw a little a interval
Training in there just to kind of get get my heart up and down and I’ll throw some weights and some rotational stuff it mixes around but it’s about it’s about five or six days a week like where I kind of Crank It Up and uh yeah you
Got to keep moving man I’m 42 now I’m not one of the young ones out here and you got to keep going you look good it look good um so cycling right you’re a big cyclist you enjoy the the bike are you have you ever done anything competitive in the cycling space
Obviously there’s the triathlons and the Iron Man’s I don’t know if you run but yeah no I’m not the I’m not the biggest Runner I my my runs are short I try to not go more than 30 40 minutes but um cycling has become a passion it’s helped
Me a lot just kind of get away from the game and from everything in life and just kind of focus on something different go sweat it out go push myself and uh it’s been fun I did a a bunch of competitive kind of am races when when I
Had a bad shoulder and I couldn’t I couldn’t swing a club I was an injury there for about year and a half and um I was very fortunate back in Colombia I was training a lot with the pros which H kind of gave me a different perspective
On the sport and everything that that that’s involved what it takes to be good and uh it was fun it was fun but uh golf has always been my passion yeah no definitely H one one last question before we wrap it up here you have the foundation obviously that you started
With for your daughter and and those initiatives that you and your wife have been a part of can you talk a little bit about this about the foundation so our audience can get a little bit of an idea of what exactly that it is that you guys
Do yeah you know what it’s it’s it’s been a very interesting H moment in our lives opportunity in our lives and so for those that don’t know my wife and I lost our daughter Mia 22 months for due to brain cancer so those five months were really tough at Nicholas children’s
We got to see a lot of things and then and right after after after she kind of decided to rest because she was she was in a tough battle and we decided to start M as Miracles so it’s our foundation in honor of our daughter and we help other people that are going
Through the similar situations and I never thought I would be doing this this way right ER it’s open our hearts to help to contribute and to bring smiles to those in need so uh to my to the whole team at M as Miracles it’s it’s it’s awesome I had a
Chance to do our kind of board meeting a couple weeks ago year in board meeting and H I think we cried about 10 times in that meeting and it was it it was it was good tears to be honest it was it was joyful tears because there’s so many
Great things going on us is such a charitable and country and uh yeah we want to keep growing and we want to keep H adding our two cents to those need those that needed and it’s it’s it’s been pretty pretty emotional yeah no I can I mean
Tons of admiration towards you and your family and it’s you know I it’s crazy to to to understand some of those things in life right it’s like you kind of want to understand why right and there’s not really a reason why and I think that’s when your faith is really tested
Tremendously and and I think what you did was extremely powerful and admirable like I was saying because you used that as a power and you said you said it right when you answered the question you use it as an opportunity right and not many people will do that right you know
It’s it’s tough for anyone to go through that and you use it as an opportunity which I think is beautiful I think I I decided not to ask myself why but what for and I think the word for it was was was uh was me as Miracles and to help
Others and to remember our daughter who was in this world not for long but she’s going to have a big impact so and she served the purpose in her lifetime absolutely so hey you know what it’s it’s it’s it’s it’s interesting what’s to come yeah and what does it mean to
Stay tranquilo to you stay tranquilo hey you know what that’s not only in Puerto Rico but in Colombia we say it and I actually say it to my my little two-year-old boy got tranquilo it’s yeah it’s just a I think it’s it’s it’s a as kind of
Being patient okay I know that’s not the the the exact translation but I see the tranquilo as just hey be patient man be patient in life life is always changing and if you take it tranquilo if you just go one step at a time everything will will fall in place
Everything always works out I agree awesome cam I appreciate it man you got it Man
