Breaking news on a late Sunday night nine-time pro bowler former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson planning to sign with the Pittsburg Steelers he will sign A Team friendly one-year deal where the Denver Broncos will end up paying the 38 million of the salary Wilson met with Steelers officials for a lengthy

Afternoon into the evening on Friday for 6 hours went well enough he’ll be wearing the black and gold in 2024 we’re joined Now by Adam after we both wanted to FaceTime from his bed but I think our I think our bosses intervene and said let’s just do a phoner Adam we

Know that Pittsburgh last year struggled offensively bottom five in points that only the Jets had fewer passing touchdowns is the understanding that Wilson is going to Pittsburgh to be their starter do we have that Clarity well listen I think that Pittsburgh made it clear that it was bringing in competition for Kenny picket

And I think Russell Wilson doesn’t go anywhere that he doesn’t think that he isn’t going to be the starter now he’s going to have to go and earn it and he’s going to have to play well but Russell Wilson is ultra confident in his abilities and what he will bring to that

Franchise you’re talking about a guy that’s been to nine Pro bowls who’s won a Super Bowl I don’t think he thinks that he’s going to Pittsburgh to back up Kenny picket but certainly Kenny picket will have the opportunity to play well this summer we’ll see how that goost got

And Adam we we know that this week will be wild and it’s off to this start on a Sunday night and there were teams that had question at quarterback in in your understanding of how Wilson viewed the landscape Pittsburgh provided for him the best combination of of opportunity and

Circumstance listen he met with the Giants an exploratory meeting he flew from Newark to Pittsburgh and spent my understanding is over six hours with Mike Tomlin with Arthur Smith going over what it might be like if he were to play there and I think when he looked at

Those two situations I think there was a lot about Pittsburgh that attracted him you look at all the offensive weapons right they have on the offens side of football you look at the way they run the football you look at the way they play defense and again I believe that he

Feels like he can come in there and do what he does and Elevate this team know last year he was benched he did also throw 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions Scott and let’s keep in mind here that for Pittsburgh there is really no downside the Broncos are

Paying his bill for this year they’re paying 38 million dollar of her salary pixburgh will pay just over $1 million so there’s really almost no downside to bringing in a guy like Russell you’re not compensating the Broncos with any picks or players you’re compensating Russell Wilson at a minimal amount the

Broncos are essentially paying his salary for the year why not bring him in and see how he fairs against Kenny picket Adam shf a FaceTime from bed would have been would have been legendary it’s like the you up text with the dot dot dot I know you are up but I

Know you need to go to bed because the morning shows will be calling and it’s going to be a hell of a busy day Adam I appreciate you taking the time this evening Scott I’m sorry that I couldn’t join you from bed but happy to do it on

The phone uh it’s probably better thanks Adam quarterback play has not been a strength for the Steelers in recent years they rank at or near the bottom of the league in all of it including last and passing touchdowns nine quarterbacks had more passing touchdowns last season

Than picket had in his first two seasons so Wilson heading To

  1. The QB carousel continues for Steelers fans. The ownership and Tomlin must be brain dead. Wilson is not an elite QB anymore and Pickett will not be the answer. This move pretty much let's Rudolph know he isn't wanted in Pittsburgh. Hope he finds a better fit since he really wasn't wanted in Pittsburgh from the day he got drafted.

  2. YES! YES! YES! STEELERS' NATION! THIS IS STEELERS' COUNTRY! BLACK & YELLOW!!! THAT'S RIGHT! LET'S GO!!!

  3. The Steelers got Russell Wilson, Ok! Don't know how he's going to do behind an Author Smith offense but, I'll give it a chance. Let's ride!

  4. Bad choice by Wilson. He let his ego get in the way and has held on too long to a young man's sport. This will remove him from the HOF.

Sure he is better than Pickett…but seriously…that isn't saying much. I don’t see the Steelers being elite and they are in a very balanced Division. Another 10-7 or 9-8 year. Whoopie

  5. His WR duo in Seattle was one of the best in the league. Where does the Steelers WR rank compared to the Broncos? Same for the offensive line?

He had wins against Mahomes, and Allen last season.

  6. I did not think Pittsburgh would sign Wilson. I was wrong. And I might be wrong again, but I don't think it will work out well for either party. First of all, Wilson is basically playing in Pittsburgh for free. Mike Tomlin is great, but I think it will be hard to discipline or criticize Wilson, because there is no financial down side for Wilson if he just wakes up one day and thinks, 'I don't need this crap.'

  7. Well i KNOW Wilson and Coach Tomlin will cook up something SPECIAL together.❤🎉

  8. Good for Russ. He has a good coach. Pickett to the bench. Russ had a pretty good year even with the dysfunction around him last year. He is a superbowl champion.

  9. As long as we make sure to shore up the RT & C positions (Moving jones back to LT) the OL should be much better & give the QBs some needed breathing room.

  10. Its literally so easy from here steelers fans. At 20 draft more OL or draft one of the corners. If malik nabers somehow falls to u at 20, u pull the trigger on drafting him instead. In the second round draft a tvondre sweat to clog up the middle and eat up blockers. Having someone like a tvondre sweat means that teams will be unable to double team TJ watt as often as they might want too.

  11. I hope he show off again the horrible organization of the Denver Broncos and that garbage of Sean Payton

  12. The Steelers are as desperate in 2024 as the Browns were a few years ago in trying to find a franchise QB…..but at least Pittsburgh has another club picking up the tab for the risky dice roll.

  13. I still don’t understand why the broncos did Russ any favors. They should have made him forfeit his contract or spend the rest of his career on the bench. What if Denver gets a superstar QB in this draft and ends up in the playoffs against Pittsburgh?

  14. Pittsburgh season already over and it haven’t even started yet the really try to make Mike Tomlin lose his job!!!!!! Wilson been wind broke ever since he lost in that superbowl he trash!!!!!!

  15. The defense has some challenges to address, but nothing like those faced by the offense where this could be a great fit. The latter is bottom 3rd on 3rd down and bottom 4th on red zone, scoring, and overall. That while being top half in rushing plus Tomlin = perfect for Wilson IMHO. Expect some coin to get spent for premium defensive players in the coming weeks.

  16. Russell Wilson would have gotten paid a lot more sitting on the couch waiting on an injury on a different team during season.

  17. From a Seahawks fan, best of luck to him and the entire Steelers organization next season. His tenure in Denver I felt was doomed to fail from the start
