Let’s welcome Dean bermas from Stinger GC Dean well played today um our co-leader 7 under pass 63 can you just talk us through your round and any highlights from your day um yeah thank you um firstly thanks for having me obviously a highlight is seeing Stinger
At the top of that leaderboard which is really good um you know we had a good week last week and The Crushers did something crazy on Sunday but I see they’re right behind us again so hopefully we can do something to them this week but um yeah for me personally
It was a great day uh you know I’ve been pretty ill this week it hasn’t been the best week for me but seems to be every time I get ill I seem to play okay so so that’s great news and um yeah I had a slow start and then you know went
Through a stretch there on the back nine where I think I went birdie birdie eagle birdie birdie and you know that eagle part just caught the right Edge perfectly and beautifully and you know when it was into the wind like that it’s it’s a it’s a good Eagle so yeah I’m
Really happy with the way my day went obviously and happy with the way the boys played too support out there from the the Hong Kong crowds was was really awesome can you just talk about some of the atmosphere and the fan reception out on the course today yeah it’s um it’s
Just so good to see Golf and this cero field you know here um I’ve heard so many great things over the years of this golf course and I’ve never had the opportunity to come here and play and um you know the city as well the city’s amazing we’ve had so much great support
Everywhere we’ve been um you know outside in restaurants and everyone’s just happy to have us all here and you know it’s it’s very welcoming and you they really appreciate good shots which is really nice to see you know um I’m sure it it could get a little Rowdy over
The weekend which is what we we’re hoping for it should get a little bit fun and um hopefully there’ll be a lot more good shots and a lot for them to cheer for awesome over to you mat Dean can you just take us through like the last few days after Jetta because you
Know the crusher shot 20 under in that final round there wasn’t really a lot you guys could do about it did you did you take that into account in terms of the disc disappointment or how did you guys talk about it um look it it was It
Was obviously a tough tough pill to swallow and I saw Bryson in the in the locker room and I used some language but all all in good all in good spirits and um you know I was like damn you know you guys are tough to beat and you know it
Was it was a great day for them for them to shoot in that wind five under average for four guys 20 under par is just crazy I mean so credit to them we we really didn’t do much wrong with a seven shot lead I don’t think um obviously Brandon
And I could have played a little bit better but it was always going to be tough for Louis and Shaw being in contention like that to to you know put a low one in so um I think we did a good job and then you know we flew over and
We’ve look we’ve enjoyed Hong Kong we’ve Louis and I were a bit sick on Tuesday we didn’t make it to the golf course um but other than that it’s it’s been fantastic and this golf course reminds me so much of a course I grew up on um
You know when I was a little boy and i’ I’ve loved it since the moment I’ve stepped on it at one point there were 12 guys tied for the lead at at 5 under can you talk about the the course itself uh there were a lot of guys that had bogey
Free rounds you you only had you had the early one and and and came after that but uh just just the course itself were you surprised uh how how low the scores for maybe um I think so look it’s a good golf course it’s obviously quite narrow
And and fairly demanding of the tea but at the same time you know you can reain yourself back and you’re still going to have loads of wge wedge opportunities out there um so I think you the scoring was probably better than I expected but with the greens rolling as pure and as
As nice as they are I mean guys are going to make putts when you put a wedge in a PR’s hand in this calor of a field guys are going to make birdies so um yeah I think you know just keep it in the Fairway and the guys will just keep
Crunching out good scores and one last question from me you’re obviously one of the longest hitters out here we’re playing a 6700 yard course uh do you feel like you’re Advantage off the te is negated a little bit or or did you have to use less drivers or what oh yeah obviously I’m
Using a lot lot less than I normally would um and I obviously enjoy hitting my driver so that’s the only negative about that but at the same time you know where guys are hitting three-wood I’m hitting an iron and I think that kind of plays into my favor I’ve got more Chan
Of hitting a fair with an iron in my hand than I do with a three-wood so I think for the long hitters I think Bryson had a decent round as well and you know Brooks is pretty long he had a decent round so you know I think I
Honestly think it can play into your favor as long as you got your wedges under control so that’s that’s my two cents thanks quick one Joy boie uh I saw you I was watching you at in Oman and you were having great solid rounds of 68 69s and and you were
Getting really disappointed on the golf course uh with the way you were playing just that show how good you are playing your gol right now yeah I think look the reason I was getting frustrated I had a similar time in jeda I just was not
Getting the ball in the hole I felt like I was hitting good parts and instead of them lipping in they were lipping out and that’s sometimes that’s golf um but it’s Testament to my ball striking I’ve been hitting it good for for quite a while now and um you know I’m obviously
Really comfortable with where my golf swing is and when I go to course like Oman for instance where it’s pretty demanding um ball striking wise and I’m hitting it that good i’ I’d like to think I should be featuring or close to it anyway and I wasn’t and I think
That’s where the frustration comes in and um but it’s nice to kind of put a good round and a low round in like this today um just proves that I’m I’m on the right path and I’ve obviously found something with my pter awesome Dean thank you very much good luck for the
