You won’t believe what the PGA is about to do in a shocking turn of events the American based tour has announced that some online golf personalities might earn a spot in the first ever sanctioned event to be held in Myrtle Beach South Carolina USA despite it being a unique
Approach to making golf more inclusive and appealing to younger audiences several golfers and enthusiasts are not too thrilled by the news in fact they would rather have it the other way this is the golf caddy where we take you inside the ropes into the World of Golf what’s your opinion of YouTubers getting
An exemption into a PGA Tour event is that fair or merely just a poor PR play by the PGA Tour so what are the details about this event and can any online golfer earn a spot first let’s discuss how the PGA Tour is making its first
Ever stop in Myrtle Beach this year as the Dunes Club will play host to a PGA Tour event for the next four years in May the event will feature a full field of 144 players and a 3.9 million dooll purse everyone assumed this to be a fun
Opposite field event for many of the middle SL lower tier PGA Tour players while the Wells Fargo signature event takes place the same week on the 16th of February the PGA Tour divulged more details about the Myrtle Beach Classic most importantly revealing that there will be a shootout event in early March
For YouTube golf creators and some other nonprofessional players to compete for a sponsor exemption spot in the actual event the shootout tag the Q at Myrtle Beach would be a 16 player 18 hole event with the winner receiving an incredible opportunity to play in the PGA Tour
Event of the 16 players eight are prominent YouTubers some are strong players in their own right and others would be considered more content creators fueled by our love of golf and belief in the magic of a Myrtle Beach Golf experience GTS is thrilled to host the Queue at Myrtle Beach and welcome
The players to the golf capital of the world said Ryan Cannon the executive director of GTs although the event is not official the contestants were not selected based on the number of views they had online rather they were selected because they met the PGA Tour Tournament regulation for sponsor
Exemptions of having a usgaa handicap of 0.0 or more this is because showcasing impressive trick shots and golf skills wouldn’t be enough to make anyone a suitable competitor for professional tour golfers if they finally earn a spot in the actual event the PGA Tour also revealed that the event won’t be open to
The public however each Creator would make several videos of the event to upload on their respective pages also a 90-minute documentary video of the event will be posted on the play golf Myrtle Beach YouTube channel on April 23 so who are the content creators who will be
Teeing off with a chance to make it to the big screens there is George Brian IV of the Brian Brothers the Brian Brothers have more than 410,000 subscribers and followers on their online platforms George was a three-time All-American at the University of South Carolina he played in several non-american p PGA
Events and the corn fairy tour until 2023 when he made the cut at the Bermuda Championship unlike his brother Wesley who is a regular at the PGA Tour he spends most of his time creating golf content then the next is Peter Finch Finch is a United Kingdom YouTube golfer
With more than 1.25 million subscribers and followers on his social media platforms on his channel Peter Finch golf he shares golf tips golf drills and ways to improve golf skills it’s not certain if he has participated in any form of professional golf but the fact
That he is on the list means he has impressive skills there is also Grant Horvat this famous YouTube golfer has a combined following of over 1.35 million on YouTube Instagram and Tik Tok his online content is impressive and this might stem from the fact that he played collegiately at Palm Beach Atlantic
University although he is yet to turn pro the event at Myrtle Beach might be his chance the fourth on the list is Luke Quan Quan is not a stranger to PGA Tour of events say he has made more than 50 starts at such events the member of
Good good golf and a University of Oklahoma Alum has close to 4,000 combined subscribers and followers on his social media platform however the elite good good golf has more than 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube which implies Quan is known by several golf enthusiasts next on the list is Micah
Morris with more than a million subscribers on his YouTube channel the Texas native is also not a stranger to professional golf as he made one PGA tour Canada start in 2023 the member of the Fourplay podcast in bar stool Sports Dan Rapaport will also be gracing the
Field the former Golf Digest writer was featured in Netflix full swing and despite only competing on an amateur level is an impressive golfer he has more than 250,000 subscribers and followers on his social media combined another face we’ll be seeing at the queue is fat Perez Nick St popularly
Known as fat Perez is a member of the popular YouTube channel Bob does Sports the online golfer is known for his impressive skills and apparently he meets the criteria to participate in a PGA Tour event but is he good enough to earn a spot in the actual events we’ll
Soon find out and last but definitely not least on the list is the busted Jack Duo Mason nut and Cole Lance are the online golfers who make a busted Jack with more than 350,000 subscribers and followers online their viewers would want to see at least one of them
Participate in the queue and that’s why they’ve both decided to compete in a playoff match to help help them choose who’d best represent the team the other golfers who will be participating in the event are Matt Atkins a professional golfer with 25 PGA Tour starts and a corn fairy tour championship title Jay
Card III and a lum of the Highpoint University with more than 39 starts on the corn faery tour Morgan Denine a former Coastal Carolina University golfer with three PGA Tour starts and the 2018 Sun Belt championship title Turk Pettit the Clemson native who won the 2021 NCAA champion ship and also
Participated in live golf’s events during the circuits inaugural 2022 season Scott Stevens a University of South Carolina Alum with 21 corn fairy starts and a victory at PGA tour Canada in 2022 Tyler watts an Amer high school golfer from Huntsville Alabama who won the Jones cup Junior Invitational in
December 2023 Jamie Wilson a former all SEC golfer at the University of South Carolina with two starts on the corn fairy tour and the last participant is yet to be decided all 16 of them will be competing for the final spot in the Myrtle Beach Classic which means any of
Them could be lucky enough to win the 3.9 million purse and 300 FedEx Cup points it has happened in the past at least 12 players who got in through sponsor exemption have won on the PGA tour so why are people not too thrilled about the idea since Liv made its debut
In 2022 the PGA Tour has been working over time trying to prove to the world that they are the best in the game they’ve introduced more events with no no cuts and have increased their purses but live is still hot on their heels and this might have triggered the decision
To do something more spontaneous something that would bring in a younger audience and also keep them ahead of live but it’s believed that they’ve taken the wrong approach with the Myrtle Beach ordeal after the announcement several golf enthusiasts took to their ex pages to Rave about the inclusion of
YouTubers and promised that they won’t be watching the Myrtle Beach event because in their terms it was absolutely ridiculous they describ the absurdity of it by saying professional PGA Tour golfers who had worked very hard to earn their spot would be on the same level as
A YouTube golfer who only got lucky to be selected a Scottish media professional even called the whole thing a joke saying it’s very unfair and disrespectful to the thousands of guys around the world who would make better use of an exemption than any of these players some went on to analyze the
Chosen YouTubers making it clear that only a few like George Bryan and Grant Horvat deserve to participate at the queue how however the PGA Tour golfers have not outrightly described their displeasure of course they are not too pleased with the development because it ridicules the hard work they’ve put in
To earn a spot on the field but they’re mostly grumbling in silence because when they look at it from another perspective the queue event will bring more awareness to golf and add a little bit of excitement to the event so what do you think about the tour’s new
Announcement do you think it’s okay to invite YouTube golfers to the field and if yes which of them do you think can swing enough to win a spot let us know in the comments section also don’t forget to like share and subscribe and we’ll see you in the next video

Not so shocking if you know that YouTube Golf get more views than the PGA…yes, us common folk would rather watch YouTube golfers than watching the boring PGA events…
But to respond to the PGA-loyalists critique against the YouTube golfers…the PGA isn't just on the fast-track downwards because of their own arrogant and stupid behavior towards LIV, but also because of their followers…just saying
Why is this video posting this as if this is something done by the PGA Tour?!
Even spending a few minutes listening to the sponsor of the event you can clearly understand that they asked the PGA Tour if they were allowed to do this with _THEIR SPONSOR SPOT_. It was their decision and has nothing to do with the strategy of the PGA Tour.
George was already invited to Bermuda, and it will certainly happen to Youtubers more and more. The sponsors will quickly understand that this brings a larger following then a random has-been golfer and will spend their invites as such.
That’s cap 🧢 they only want their YouTube views for pga tour so they only got the big content creators
I believe this was done to get more eyes on the new PGA tour opposite field event. A tournament to add one sponsor exemption is kind of like Monday qualifying, which any of these YouTube golfers could play to get into a PGA tour event. Personally, I think it is a great idea! Let's not forget the Korn Ferry and former PGA players who are competing for that one spot in the field. I'm not familiar with many of the tour pros playing, but feel George Bryan has as good a chance as anyone to qualify for the main tournament.
I love it! PGA needs more eyes and needs to create interest in the game for future generations. Solid move.
All of them? No. Maybe one of the Bryan bros.
If they do, I’m out. Only support a LIV engagement at this point.
I think this event and the PGA needed a boost to stay in contention with LIV Golf. I believe the UTube golfers selected to the this death match are extremely good players…..they are popular and can play pro level golf….i say good move by the PGA. I want Grant H to get his chance….play your game Grant…and you will make it…..good luck.
i only watch YouTube golf
A sponsor can pretty much select anyone they want, as long as PGA qualified. So, this sponsor choose a more entertaining and unique path to that chosen spot. Anyone who follows golf knows Youtube golf is on the way up, the PGA, not so much.
In Europe there are more yt creators and players. Myrtle Beach had the chance to invite players like Paul Hendriksen. PGA champion of UK, or James Ruth or lames Robinson who already performed at the open championship. Seeing thus top players in myrtle beach would have been amazing! But so i hope George Bryan gets the qualifying and wins the tour event, he would deserve it.
No "YouTuber" will make the cut, save for (possibly) George Bryan (who's brother is PGA Tour player Wesley Bryan) who's already made the cut previously on a PGA Tour exemption invite. There are no "other non-professional players" invited. It's 8 YouTube golf content creators and 8 Korn Ferry Tour pro's. The YouTubers have no chance… it's a publicity stunt.
It’s called a sponsor’s exemption for a reason and this event will be great publicity for both the qualifying event and the tournament. I think it’s a great idea other than adding in all the Korn Ferry players; Would be better to just leave it to the YouTubers who qualify so one actually gets in.
